ஆதியாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 11

பூமியெங்கும் ஒரே பாஷையும், ஒரே விதமான பேச்சும் இருந்தது.

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

ஜனங்கள் கிழக்கேயிருந்து பிரயாணம்பண்ணுகையில், சிநெயார் தேசத்திலே சமபூமியைக்கண்டு, அங்கே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: நாம் செங்கல் அறுத்து, அதை நன்றாய்ச் சுடுவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்; கல்லுக்குப் பதிலாக செங்கலும், சாந்துக்குப் பதிலாக நிலக்கீலும் அவர்களுக்கு இருந்தது.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

பின்னும் அவர்கள்: நாம் பூமியின் மீதெங்கும் சிதறிப்போகாதபடிக்கு, நமக்கு ஒரு நகரத்தையும், வானத்தை அளாவும் சிகரமுள்ள ஒரு கோபுரத்தையும் கட்டி, நமக்குப் பேர் உண்டாகப் பண்ணுவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

மனுபுத்திரர் கட்டுகிற நகரத்தையும் கோபுரத்தையும் பார்க்கிறதற்குக் கர்த்தர் இறங்கினார்.

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: இதோ, ஜனங்கள் ஒரே கூட்டமாய் இருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் ஒரே பாஷையும் இருக்கிறது; அவர்கள் இதைச் செய்யத்தொடங்கினார்கள்; இப்பொழுதும் தாங்கள் செய்ய நினைத்தது ஒன்றும் தடைபடமாட்டாது என்று இருக்கிறார்கள்.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

நாம் இறங்கிப்போய், ஒருவர் பேசுவதை மற்றொருவர் அறியாதபடிக்கு, அங்கே அவர்கள் பாஷையைத் தாறுமாறாக்குவோம் என்றார்.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

அப்படியே கர்த்தர் அவர்களை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து பூமியின்மீதெங்கும் சிதறிப்போகப்பண்ணினார்; அப்பொழுது நகரம் கட்டுகிறதை விட்டுவிட்டார்கள்.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

பூமியெங்கும் வழங்கின பாஷையைக் கர்த்தர் அவ்விடத்தில் தாறுமாறாக்கினபடியால், அதின் பேர் பாபேல் என்னப்பட்டது; கர்த்தர் அவர்களை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து பூமியின்மீதெங்கும் சிதறிப்போகப்பண்ணினார்.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

சேமுடைய வம்சவரலாறு: ஜலப்பிரளயம் உண்டாகி இரண்டு வருஷத்திற்குப் பின்பு, சேம் நூறுவயதானபோது, அர்பக்சாத்தைப் பெற்றான்.

These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

சேம் அர்பக்சாத்தைப் பெற்றபின் ஐந்நூறு வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

அர்பக்சாத் முப்பத்தைந்து வயதானபோது சாலாவைப் பெற்றான்.

And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

சாலாவைப் பெற்றபின் அர்பக்சாத் நானூற்று மூன்று வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

சாலா முப்பது வயதானபோது, ஏபேரைப் பெற்றான்.

And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

ஏபேரைப் பெற்றபின் சாலா நானூற்று மூன்று வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

ஏபேர் முப்பத்துநாலு வயதானபோது, பேலேகைப் பெற்றான்.

And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

பேலேகைப் பெற்றபின் ஏபேர் நானூற்று முப்பது வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

பேலேகு முப்பது வயதானபோது, ரெகூவைப் பெற்றான்.

And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

ரெகூவைப் பெற்றபின் பேலேகு இருநூற்றொன்பது வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

ரெகூ முப்பத்திரண்டு வயதானபோது, செரூகைப் பெற்றான்.

And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:

செரூகைப் பெற்றபின் ரெகூ இருநூற்றேழு வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

செரூகு முப்பது வயதானபோது, நாகோரைப் பெற்றான்.

And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

நாகோரைப் பெற்றபின் செரூகு இருநூறு வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

நாகோர் இருபத்தொன்பது வயதானபோது, தேராகைப் பெற்றான்.

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

தேராகைப் பெற்றபின் நாகோர் நூற்றுப்பத்தொன்பது வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றான்.

And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

தேராகு எழுபது வயதானபோது, ஆபிராம், நாகோர், ஆரான் என்பவர்களைப் பெற்றான்.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

தேராகுடைய வம்சவரலாறு: தேராகு ஆபிராம், நாகோர், ஆரான் என்பவர்களைப் பெற்றான்; ஆரான் லோத்தைப் பெற்றான்.

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

ஆரான் தன் ஜந்மபூமியாகிய ஊர் என்கிற கல்தேயர் தேசத்துப் பட்டணத்திலே தன் தகப்பனாகிய தேராகு மரிக்குமுன்னே மரித்தான்.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

ஆபிராமும் நாகோரும் தங்களுக்குப் பெண் கொண்டார்கள்; ஆபிராமுடைய மனைவிக்குச் சாராய் என்று பேர்; நாகோருடைய மனைவிக்கு மில்க்காள் என்று பேர்; இவள் ஆரானுடைய குமாரத்தி; அந்த ஆரான் மில்க்காளுக்கும் இஸ்காளுக்கும் தகப்பன்.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

சாராய்க்குப் பிள்ளையில்லை; மலடியாயிருந்தாள்.

But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

தேராகு தன் குமாரனாகிய ஆபிராமையும், ஆரானுடைய குமாரனும், தன் பேரனுமாயிருந்த லோத்தையும், தன் குமாரன் ஆபிராமுடைய மனைவியாகிய தன் மருமகள் சாராயையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களுடனே ஊர் என்கிற கல்தேயருடைய பட்டணத்தை விட்டு, கானான் தேசத்துக்குப் போகப் புறப்பட்டான்; அவர்கள் ஆரான் மட்டும் வந்தபோது, அங்கே இருந்துவிட்டார்கள்.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

தேராகுடைய ஆயுசு நாட்கள் இருநூற்றைந்து வருஷம்; தேராகு ஆரானிலே மரித்தான்.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

ஆதியாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 12

கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமை நோக்கி: நீ உன் தேசத்தையும், உன் இனத்தையும், உன் தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டையும் விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, நான் உனக்குக் காண்பிக்கும் தேசத்துக்குப் போ.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

நான் உன்னைப் பெரிய ஜாதியாக்கி, உன்னை ஆசீர்வதித்து, உன் பேரைப் பெருமைப்படுத்துவேன்; நீ ஆசீர்வாதமாய் இருப்பாய்.

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன், உன்னைச் சபிக்கிறவனைச் சபிப்பேன்; பூமியிலுள்ள வம்சங்களெல்லாம் உனக்குள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும் என்றார்.

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே அவன் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்; லோத்தும் அவனோடேகூடப் போனான். ஆபிராம் ஆரானைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டபோது, எழுபத்தைந்து வயதுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்.

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

ஆபிராம் தன் மனைவியாகிய சாராயையும், தன் சகோதரனுடைய குமாரனாகிய லோத்தையும், தாங்கள் சம்பாதித்திருந்த தங்கள் சம்பத்தெல்லாவற்றையும், ஆரானிலே சவதரித்த ஜனங்களையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்கள் கானான் தேசத்துக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கானான் தேசத்தில் சேர்ந்தார்கள்.

And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

ஆபிராம் அந்தத் தேசத்தில் சுற்றித் திரிந்து சீகேம் என்னும் இடத்துக்குச் சமீபமான மோரே என்னும் சமபூமிமட்டும் வந்தான்; அக்காலத்திலே கானானியர் அத்தேசத்தில் இருந்தார்கள்.

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி: உன் சந்ததிக்கு இந்தத் தேசத்தைக் கொடுப்பேன் என்றார். அப்பொழுது அவன் தனக்குத் தரிசனமான கர்த்தருக்கு அங்கே ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான்.

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

பின்பு அவன் அவ்விடம்விட்டுப்பெயர்ந்து, பெத்தேலுக்குக் கிழக்கே இருக்கும் மலைக்குப் போய், பெத்தேல் தனக்கு மேற்காகவும் ஆயீ கிழக்காகவும் இருக்கக் கூடாரம்போட்டு, அங்கே கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொண்டான்.

And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.

அதின்பின் ஆபிராம் புறப்பட்டு, தெற்கே பிரயாணம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டு போனான்.

And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.

அத்தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிற்று; தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் கொடிதாயிருந்தபடியால், ஆபிராம் எகிப்து தேசத்திலே தங்கும்படி அவ்விடத்துக்குப் போனான்.

And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

அவன் எகிப்துக்குச் சமீபமாய் வந்தபோது, தன் மனைவி சாராயைப் பார்த்து: நீ பார்வைக்கு அழகுள்ள ஸ்திரீ என்று அறிவேன்.

And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

எகிப்தியர் உன்னைக் காணும்போது, இவள் அவனுடைய மனைவி என்று சொல்லி, என்னைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு, உன்னை உயிரோடே வைப்பார்கள்.

Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

ஆகையால், உன்னிமித்தம் எனக்கு நன்மை உண்டாகும்படிக்கும், உன்னாலே என் உயிர் பிழைக்கும்படிக்கும், நீ உன்னை என் சகோதரி என்று சொல் என்றான்.

Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.

ஆபிராம் எகிப்திலே வந்தபோது, எகிப்தியர் அந்த ஸ்திரீயை மிகுந்த அழகுள்ளவளென்று கண்டார்கள்.

And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.

பார்வோனுடைய பிரபுக்களும் அவளைக்கண்டு, பார்வோனுக்கு முன்பாக அவளைப் புகழ்ந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ பார்வோனுடைய அரமனைக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டாள்.

The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

அவள் நிமித்தம் அவன் ஆபிராமுக்குத் தயைபாராட்டினான்; அவனுக்கு ஆடுமாடுகளும், கழுதைகளும், வேலைக்காரரும், வேலைக்காரிகளும், கோளிகைக் கழுதைகளும், ஒட்டகங்களும் கிடைத்தது.

And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.

ஆபிராமுடைய மனைவியாகிய சாராயின் நிமித்தம் கர்த்தர் பார்வோனையும், அவன் வீட்டாரையும் மகா வாதைகளால் வாதித்தார்.

And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.

அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் ஆபிராமை அழைத்து: நீ எனக்கு ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்தாய்? இவள் உன் மனைவி என்று நீ எனக்கு அறிவியாமற்போனதென்ன?

And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?

இவளை உன் சகோதரி என்று நீ சொல்லவேண்டுவது என்ன? இவளை நான் எனக்கு மனைவியாகக்கொண்டிருப்பேனே; இதோ உன் மனைவி; இவளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று சொன்னான்.

Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

பார்வோன் அவனைக் குறித்துத் தன் மனுஷருக்குக் கட்டளை கொடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனையும், அவன் மனைவியையும் அவனுக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள்.

And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

ஆதியாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 13

ஆபிராமும், அவன் மனைவியும், அவனுக்கு உண்டான யாவும், அவனுடனே லோத்தும், எகிப்தை விட்டு, தென்திசையில் வந்தார்கள்.

And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

ஆபிராம் மிருகஜீவன்களும் வெள்ளியும் பொன்னுமான ஆஸ்திகளை உடைய சீமானாயிருந்தான்.

And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

அவன் தன் பிரயாணங்களிலே தெற்கேயிருந்து பெத்தேல்மட்டும், பெத்தேலுக்கும் ஆயீக்கும் நடுவாகத் தான் முன்பு கூடாரம்போட்டதும்,

And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;

தான் முதல்முதல் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தை உண்டாக்கினதுமான ஸ்தலமட்டும் போனான்; அங்கே ஆபிராம் கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொண்டான்.

Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.

ஆபிராமுடனே வந்த லோத்துக்கும் ஆடுமாடுகளும் கூடாரங்களும் இருந்தன.

And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

அவர்கள் ஒருமித்துக் குடியிருக்க அந்தப் பூமி அவர்களைத் தாங்கக்கூடாதிருந்தது; அவர்களுடைய ஆஸ்தி மிகுதியாயிருந்தபடியால், அவர்கள் ஒருமித்து வாசம்பண்ண ஏதுவில்லாமற்போயிற்று.

And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

ஆபிராமுடைய மந்தைமேய்ப்பருக்கும் லோத்துடைய மந்தைமேய்ப்பருக்கும் வாக்குவாதம் உண்டாயிற்று. அக்காலத்திலே கானானியரும் பெரிசியரும் அத்தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

ஆபிராம் லோத்தை நோக்கி: எனக்கும் உனக்கும், என் மேய்ப்பருக்கும் உன் மேய்ப்பருக்கும் வாக்குவாதம் வேண்டாம்; நாம் சகோதரர்.

And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

இந்தத் தேசமெல்லாம் உனக்குமுன் இருக்கிறது அல்லவா? நீ என்னைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்துபோகலாம்; நீ இடதுபுறம் போனால், நான் வலதுபுறம் போகிறேன்; நீ வலதுபுறம் போனால், நான் இடதுபுறம் போகிறேன் என்றான்.

Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

அப்பொழுது லோத்து தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்த்து: யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அருகான சமபூமி முழுவதும் நீர்வளம் பொருந்தினதாயிருக்கக்கண்டான். கர்த்தர் சோதோமையும் கொமோராவையும் அழிக்கும்முன்னே, சோவாருக்குப் போகும் வழிமட்டும் அது கர்த்தருடைய தோட்டத்தைப்போலவும் எகிப்து தேசத்தைப்போலவும் இருந்தது.

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

அப்பொழுது லோத்து யோர்தானுக்கு அருகான சமபூமி முழுவதையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, கிழக்கே பிரயாணப்பட்டுப்போனான். இப்படி அவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் விட்டுப் பிரிந்தார்கள்.

Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

ஆபிராம் கானான் தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்தான்; லோத்து அந்த யோர்தானுக்கு அருகான சமபூமியிலுள்ள பட்டணங்களில் வாசம்பண்ணி, சோதோமுக்கு நேரே கூடாரம் போட்டான்.

Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

சோதோமின் ஜனங்கள் பொல்லாதவர்களும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக மகாபாவிகளுமாய் இருந்தார்கள்.

But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

லோத்து ஆபிராமைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்த பின்பு, கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமை நோக்கி: உன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, நீ இருக்கிற இடத்திலிருந்து வடக்கேயும், தெற்கேயும், கிழக்கேயும், மேற்கேயும் நோக்கிப்பார்.

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

நீ பார்க்கிற இந்தப் பூமி முழுவதையும் நான் உனக்கும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் என்றைக்கும் இருக்கும்படி கொடுத்து,

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

உன் சந்ததியைப் பூமியின் தூளைப்போலப் பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன்; ஒருவன் பூமியின் தூளை எண்ணக்கூடுமானால், உன் சந்ததியும் எண்ணப்படும்.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

நீ எழுந்து தேசத்தின் நீளமும் அகலமும் எம்மட்டோ, அம்மட்டும் நடந்து திரி; உனக்கு அதைத் தருவேன் என்றார்.

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

அப்பொழுது ஆபிராம் கூடாரத்தைப் பெயர்த்துக்கொண்டுபோய், எபிரோனிலிருக்கும் மம்ரேயின் சமபூமியில் சேர்ந்து குடியிருந்து, அங்கே கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான்.

Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

மத்தேயு அத்தியாயம் 7

நீங்கள் குற்றவாளிகளென்று தீர்க்கப்படாதபடிக்கு மற்றவர்களைக் குற்றவாளிகளென்று தீர்க்காதிருங்கள்.

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

ஏனெனில், நீங்கள் மற்றவர்களைத் தீர்க்கிற தீர்ப்பின்படியே நீங்களும் தீர்க்கப்படுவீர்கள்; நீங்கள் மற்றவர்களுக்கு அளக்கிற அளவின்படியே உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

நீ உன் கண்ணிலிருக்கிற உத்திரத்தை உணராமல், உன் சகோதரன் கண்ணிலிருக்கிற துரும்பைப் பார்க்கிறதென்ன?

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

இதோ, உன் கண்ணில் உத்திரம் இருக்கையில் உன் சகோதரனை நோக்கி: நான் உன் கண்ணிலிருக்கும் துரும்பை எடுத்துப்போடட்டும் என்று நீ சொல்வதெப்படி?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

மாயக்காரனே! முன்பு உன் கண்ணிலிருக்கிற உத்திரத்தை எடுத்துப்போடு; பின்பு உன் சகோதரன் கண்ணிலிருக்கிற துரும்பை எடுத்துப்போட வகைபார்ப்பாய்.

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

பரிசுத்தமானதை நாய்களுக்குக் கொடாதேயுங்கள்; உங்கள் முத்துக்களைப் பன்றிகள்முன் போடாதேயுங்கள்; போட்டால் தங்கள் கால்களால் அவைகளை மிதித்து, திரும்பிக்கொண்டு உங்களைப் பீறிப்போடும்.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

கேளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது கண்டடைவீர்கள்; தட்டுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்;

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

ஏனென்றால், கேட்கிறவன் எவனும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; தேடுகிறவன் கண்டடைகிறான்; தட்டுகிறவனுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

உங்களில் எந்த மனுஷனானாலும் தன்னிடத்தில் அப்பத்தைக் கேட்கிற தன் மகனுக்குக் கல்லைக் கொடுப்பானா?

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

மீனைக் கேட்டால் அவனுக்குப் பாம்பைக் கொடுப்பானா?

Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

ஆகையால், பொல்லாதவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நல்ல ஈவுகளைக் கொடுக்க அறிந்திருக்கும்போது, பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற உங்கள் பிதா தம்மிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்கு நன்மையானவைகளைக் கொடுப்பது அதிக நிச்சயம் அல்லவா?

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

ஆதலால், மனுஷர் உங்களுக்கு எவைகளைச்செய்ய விரும்புகிறீர்களோ, அவைகளை நீங்களும் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யுங்கள்; இதுவே நியாயப்பிராணமும் தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களுமாம்.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

இடுக்கமான வாசல்வழியாய் உட்பிரவேசியுங்கள்; கேட்டுக்குப்போகிற வாசல் விரிவும், வழி விசாலமுமாயிருக்கிறது; அதின் வழியாய்ப் பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்கள் அநேகர்.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

ஜீவனுக்குப்போகிற வாசல் இடுக்கமும், வழி நெருக்கமுமாயிருக்கிறது; அதைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறவர்கள் சிலர்.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

கள்ளத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; அவர்கள் ஆட்டுத்தோலைப் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு உங்களிடத்தில் வருவார்கள்; உள்ளத்திலோ அவர்கள் பட்சிக்கிற ஓநாய்கள்.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

அவர்களுடைய கனிகளினாலே அவர்களை அறிவீர்கள்; முட்செடிகளில் திராட்சப்பழங்களையும், முட்பூண்டுகளில் அத்திப்பழங்களையும் பறிக்கிறார்களா?

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

அப்படியே நல்லமரமெல்லாம் நல்லகனிகளைக் கொடுக்கும்; கெட்டமரமோ கெட்டகனிகளைக் கொடுக்கும்.

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

நல்லமரம் கெட்டகனிகளைக் கொடுக்கமாட்டாது; கெட்டமரம் நல்லகனிகளைக் கொடுக்கமாட்டாது.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

நல்ல கனிகொடாத மரமெல்லாம் வெட்டுண்டு, அக்கினியிலே போடப்படும்.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

ஆதலால், அவர்களுடைய கனிகளினாலே அவர்களை அறிவீர்கள்.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற என் பிதாவின் சித்தத்தின்படிசெய்கிறவனே பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பானேயல்லாமல், என்னை நோக்கி: கர்த்தாவே! கர்த்தாவே! என்று சொல்லுகிறவன் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

அந்நாளில் அநேகர் என்னை நோக்கி: கர்த்தாவே! கர்த்தாவே! உமது நாமத்தினாலே தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரைத்தோம் அல்லவா? உமது நாமத்தினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தினோம் அல்லவா? உமது நாமத்தினாலே அநேக அற்புதங்களைச் செய்தோம் அல்லவா? என்பார்கள்.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

அப்பொழுது, நான் ஒருக்காலும் உங்களை அறியவில்லை; அக்கிரமச் செய்கைக்காரரே, என்னைவிட்டு அகன்றுபோங்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுவேன்.

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

ஆகையால், நான் சொல்லிய இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, இவைகளின்படி செய்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவனைக் கன்மலையின்மேல் தன் வீட்டைக் கட்டின புத்தியுள்ள மனுஷனுக்கு ஒப்பிடுவேன்.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

பெருமழை சொரிந்து, பெருவெள்ளம் வந்து, காற்று அடித்து, அந்த வீட்டின்மேல் மோதியும், அது விழவில்லை; ஏனென்றால், அது கன்மலையின்மேல் அஸ்திபாரம் போடப்பட்டிருந்தது.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

நான் சொல்லிய இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக்கேட்டு, இவைகளின்படி செய்யாதிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் தன் வீட்டை மணலின்மேல் கட்டின புத்தியில்லாத மனுஷனுக்கு ஒப்பிடப்படுவான்.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

பெருமழை சொரிந்து, பெருவெள்ளம் வந்து, காற்று அடித்து, அந்த வீட்டின்மேல் மோதினபோது அது விழுந்தது; விழுந்து முழுவதும் அழிந்தது என்றார்.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

இயேசு இந்த வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லி முடித்தபோது, அவர் வேதபாரகரைப்போல் போதியாமல், அதிகாரமுடையவராய் அவர்களுக்குப் போதித்தபடியால்,

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

ஜனங்கள் அவருடைய போதகத்தைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
