பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying,

ஒரு மனிதனுடைய சரீரத்தின்மேல் குஷ்டரோகம்போலிருக்கிற ஒரு தடிப்பாவது அசறாவது வெள்ளைப்படராவது உண்டானால், அவன் ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனிடத்திலாகிலும், ஆசாரியராகிய அவன் குமாரரில் ஒருவனிடத்திலாகிலும் கொண்டுவரப்படக்கடவன்.

When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:

அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியன் அவன் சரீரத்தின்மேல் இருக்கிற ரோகத்தைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும்; ரோகம் இருக்கும் இடத்தில் மயிர் வெளுத்தும், ரோகமுள்ள இடம் அவனுடைய மற்றச் சரீரத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகமாய்க் குழிந்தும் இருந்தால் அது குஷ்டரோகம்; ஆசாரியன் அவனைப் பார்த்தபின்பு, அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்.

And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

அவன் சரீரத்தின்மேல் வெள்ளைப்படர்ந்திருந்தாலும், அவ்விடம் அவனுடைய மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிக பள்ளமாயிராமலும், அதின் மயிர் வெள்ளையாக மாறாமலும் இருந்தால், ஆசாரியன் அவனை ஏழுநாள் அடைத்து வைத்து,

If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:

ஏழாம் நாளில் அவனைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; தோலில் ரோகம் அதிகப்படாமல், அவன் பார்வைக்கு ரோகம் நின்றிருந்தால், ஆசாரியன் இரண்டாந்தரம் அவனை ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:

இரண்டாந்தரம் அவனை ஏழாம் நாளில் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; தோலில் ரோகம் அதிகப்படாமல் சுருங்கியிருந்தால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது அசறு; அவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்த்துச் சுத்தமாயிருப்பானாக.

And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean: it is but a scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

தன்னைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கிறதற்கு அவன் தன்னை ஆசாரியனுக்குக் காண்பித்த பின்பு, அசறு தோலில் அதிகமாய்ப் படர்ந்திருந்தால், அவன் மறுபடியும் ஆசாரியனுக்குத் தன்னைக் காண்பிக்கக்கடவன்.

But if the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again:

அப்பொழுது அசறு தோலிலே படர்ந்தது என்று ஆசாரியன் கண்டால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது குஷ்டரோகம்.

And if the priest see that, behold, the scab spreadeth in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a leprosy.

குஷ்டரோகம் ஒரு மனிதனுக்கு இருந்தால், அவனை ஆசாரியனிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும்.

When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the priest;

அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியன் அவனைப் பார்த்து, தோலிலே வெள்ளையான தடிப்பிருந்து, அது மயிரை வெண்மையாக மாறப்பண்ணிற்றென்றும், அந்தத் தடிப்புள்ள இடத்திலே இரணமாம்சம் உண்டென்றும் கண்டால்,

And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the rising be white in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising;

அது அவன் சரீரத்திலுள்ள நாள்பட்ட குஷ்டம்; அவன் தீட்டுள்ளவன். ஆதலால், ஆசாரியன் அவனை அடைத்து வைக்காமல், தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்.

It is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is unclean.

ஆசாரியன் பார்க்கிற இடங்களெங்கும் தோலிலே குஷ்டம் தோன்றி, அந்த ரோகமுள்ளவனுடைய தலைதொடங்கி அவன் கால்மட்டும் அது தேகமுழுவதையும் மூடியிருக்கக்கண்டால்,

And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh;

அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியன் பார்த்து, குஷ்டம் அவன் சரீரம் முழுவதையும் மூடியிருந்தால், அவனைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் உடம்பெல்லாம் வெண்மையாய்ப்போனபடியால், அவன் சுத்தமுள்ளவன்.

Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.

ஆனாலும், இரணமாம்சம் அவனில் காணப்பட்டால், அவன் தீட்டுள்ளவன்.

But when raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean.

ஆகையால், இரணமாம்சத்தை ஆசாரியன் காணும்போது, அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; இரணமாம்சம் தீட்டுள்ளது; அது குஷ்டம்.

And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a leprosy.

அல்லது, இரணமாம்சம் மாறி வெண்மையானால், அவன் ஆசாரியனிடத்துக்கு வரவேண்டும்.

Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, he shall come unto the priest;

ஆசாரியன் அவனைப் பார்த்து, ரோகமுள்ள இடம் வெண்மையாக மாறினதென்று கண்டால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைச்சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சுத்தமுள்ளவன்.

And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then the priest shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean.

சரீரத்தின்மேல் புண் உண்டாயிருந்து ஆறிப்போய்,

The flesh also, in which, even in the skin thereof, was a boil, and is healed,

அவ்விடத்திலே ஒரு வெள்ளைத்தடிப்பாவது சிவப்புக்கலந்த ஒரு வெள்ளைப்படராவது உண்டானால், அதை ஆசாரியனுக்குக் காண்பிக்கவேண்டும்.

And in the place of the boil there be a white rising, or a bright spot, white, and somewhat reddish, and it be shewed to the priest;

ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்த்து, அவ்விடம் மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் குழிந்திருக்கவும், அதின் மயிர் வெள்ளையாக மாறியிருக்கவும் கண்டால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கவேண்டும்; அது புண்ணில் எழும்பின குஷ்டம்.

And if, when the priest seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.

ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்த்து, அதில் வெள்ளைமயிர் இல்லை என்றும், அது மற்றத்தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் குழிந்திராமல் சுருங்கியிருக்கிறது என்றும் கண்டானாகில், அவனை ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and if it be not lower than the skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:

அது தோலில் அதிகமாய்ப் படர்ந்திருக்கக்கண்டால், அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது குஷ்டந்தான்.

And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.

அந்த வெள்ளைப்படர் அதிகப்படாமல், அவ்வளவில் நின்றிருக்குமாகில், அது புண்ணின் தழும்பாயிருக்கும்; ஆகையால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்.

But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

ஒருவனுடைய சரீரத்தின்மேல் நெருப்புப்பட்டதினாலே வெந்து, அந்த வேக்காடு ஆறிப்போன இடத்திலே சிவப்பான படராவது வெண்மையான படராவது உண்டானால்,

Or if there be any flesh, in the skin whereof there is a hot burning, and the quick flesh that burneth have a white bright spot, somewhat reddish, or white;

ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; அந்தப் படரிலே மயிர் வெண்மையாக மாறி, அவ்விடம் மற்றத் தோலைப் பார்க்கிலும் பள்ளமாயிருந்தால், அது வேக்காட்டினால் எழும்பின குஷ்டம்; ஆகையால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது குஷ்டரோகந்தான்.

Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்க்கிறபோது, படரிலே வெள்ளைமயிர் இல்லை என்றும், அது மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் குழிந்திராமல், சுருங்கியிருக்கிறது என்றும் கண்டானாகில், அவனை ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:

ஏழாம்நாளில் அவனைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; அது தோலில் அதிகமாய்ப் படர்ந்திருந்தால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது குஷ்டரோகம்.

And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of leprosy.

படரானது தோலில் பெருகாமல், அவ்வளவில் நின்று சுருங்கியிருந்ததாகில், அது சூட்டினால் உண்டான தழும்பு; ஆசாரியன் அவனைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது சூட்டினால் வந்த வேக்காடு.

And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.

புருஷனுக்காகிலும் ஸ்திரீக்காகிலும் தலையிலாவது தாடியிலாவது ஒரு சொறி உண்டானால்,

If a man or woman have a plague upon the head or the beard;

ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்த்து, அவ்விடம் மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் பள்ளமும் அதிலே மயிர் பொன் நிறமும் மிருதுவுமாயிருக்கக்கண்டால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அது தலையிலும் தாடியிலும் உண்டாகிற சொறிகுஷ்டம்.

Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a dry scall, even a leprosy upon the head or beard.

ஆசாரியன் அந்தச் சொறிகுஷ்டத்தைப் பார்க்கும்போது, அவ்விடம் மற்றத்தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் பள்ளமாயிராமலும், அதிலே கறுத்த மயிர் இல்லாமலும் இருக்கக்கண்டால், ஆசாரியன் அவனை ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days:

ஏழாம்நாளில் ஆசாரியன் அதைப்பார்க்கக்கடவன்; அந்தச் சொறி இடங்கொள்ளாமலும், அதிலே பொன்நிறமயிர் இல்லாமலும், அவ்விடம் மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் பள்ளமில்லாமலும் இருந்தால்,

And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague: and, behold, if the scall spread not, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the scall be not in sight deeper than the skin;

அந்தச் சொறியுள்ள இடந்தவிர, மற்ற யாவையும் அவன் சிரைத்துக்கொள்ளக்கடவன்; பின்பு, ஆசாரியன் இரண்டாந்தரம் அவனை ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

He shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that hath the scall seven days more:

ஏழாம்நாளில் அதைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; சொறி தோலில் இடங்கொள்ளாமலும், அவ்விடம் மற்றத் தோலைப்பார்க்கிலும் பள்ளமில்லாமலும் இருந்தால், ஆசாரியன் அவனைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்த்தபின் சுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the scall: and, behold, if the scall be not spread in the skin, nor be in sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

அவன் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கப்பட்டபின், அந்தச் சொறி தோலில் இடங்கொண்டதானால்,

But if the scall spread much in the skin after his cleansing;

ஆசாரியன் அவனைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; சொறி தோலில் இடங்கொண்டிருந்தால், அப்பொழுது மயிர் பொன்நிறமா அல்லவா என்று ஆசாரியன் விசாரிக்க வேண்டியதில்லை; அவன் தீட்டுள்ளவனே.

Then the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean.

அவன் பார்வைக்கு அந்தச் சொறி நீங்கி, அதில் கறுத்தமயிர் முளைத்ததேயாகில், சொறி சொஸ்தமாயிற்று; அவன் சுத்தமுள்ளவன்; ஆசாரியன் அவனைச் சுத்தமுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்.

But if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

ஒரு புருஷனுக்காகிலும் ஸ்திரீக்காகிலும் அவர்கள் சரீரத்தின்மேல் வெள்ளைப் புள்ளிகள் உண்டாயிருந்தால்,

If a man also or a woman have in the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white bright spots;

ஆசாரியன் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; அவர்கள் சரீரத்திலே மங்கின வெள்ளைப் புள்ளிகள் இருந்தால், அது தோலில் எழும்புகிற வெள்ளைத்தேமல்; அவர்கள் சுத்தமுள்ளவர்கள்.

Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be darkish white; it is a freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean.

ஒருவனுடைய தலைமயிர் உதிர்ந்து, அவன் மொட்டையனானாலும், அவன் சுத்தமாயிருக்கிறான்.

And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.

அவனுடைய முன்னந்தலை மயிர் உதிர்ந்தால், அவன் அரைமொட்டையன்; அவனும் சுத்தமாயிருக்கிறான்.

And he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is forehead bald: yet is he clean.

மொட்டைத்தலையிலாவது அரைமொட்டைத்தலையிலாவது சிவப்புக்கலந்த வெண்மையான படர் உண்டானால், அது அதில் எழும்புகிற குஷ்டம்.

And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead.

ஆசாரியன் அவனைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; அவனுடைய மொட்டைத்தலையிலாவது அரைமொட்டைத்தலையிலாவது, மற்ற அங்கங்களின்மேல் உண்டாகும் குஷ்டத்தைப்போல, சிவப்புக்கலந்த வெண்மையான தடிப்பு இருக்கக்கண்டால்,

Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh;

அவன் குஷ்டரோகி, அவன் தீட்டுள்ளவன்; ஆசாரியன் அவனைத் தீட்டுள்ளவன் என்று தீர்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் வியாதி அவன் தலையிலே இருக்கிறது.

He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head.

அந்த வியாதி உண்டாயிருக்கிற குஷ்டரோகி வஸ்திரம் கிழிந்தவனாயும், தன் தலையை மூடாதவனாயும் இருந்து, அவன் தன் தாடியை மூடிக்கொண்டு, 'தீட்டு, தீட்டு' என்று சத்தமிடவேண்டும்.

And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.

ஆட்டுமயிர் வஸ்திரத்திலாவது, பஞ்சுநூல் வஸ்திரத்திலாவது,

The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;

பஞ்சுநூல் அல்லது ஆட்டுமயிரான பாவிலாவது, ஊடையிலாவது, ஒரு தோலிலாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவிலாவது குஷ்டதோஷம் தோன்றி,

Whether it be in the warp, or woof; of linen, or of woollen; whether in a skin, or in any thing made of skin;

வஸ்திரத்திலாவது, தோலிலாவது, பாவிலாவது, ஊடையிலாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவிலாவது குஷ்டதோஷம் பச்சையாயாவது சிவப்பாயாவது காணப்பட்டால் அது குஷ்டமாயிருக்கும்; அதை ஆசாரியனுக்குக் காண்பிக்கவேண்டும்.

And if the plague be greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shewed unto the priest:

ஆசாரியன் அதைப் பார்த்து, ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

And the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up it that hath the plague seven days:

ஏழாம் நாளிலே அதைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; வஸ்திரத்திலாவது, பாவிலாவது, ஊடையிலாவது, தோலிலாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவிலாவது அது அதிகப்பட்டிருந்தால், அது அரிக்கிற குஷ்டம்; அது தீட்டாயிருக்கும்.

And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.

அந்தத் தோஷம் இருக்கிற ஆட்டுமயிரினாலும் பஞ்சுநூலினாலும் செய்த வஸ்திரத்தையும் பாவையும், ஊடையையும், தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவையும் சுட்டெரிக்கக்கடவன்; அது அரிக்கிற குஷ்டம்; ஆகையால் அக்கினியில் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படவேண்டும்.

He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.

வஸ்திரத்தின் பாவிலாவது, ஊடையிலாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவிலாவது, அந்த தோஷம் அதிகப்படவில்லை என்று ஆசாரியன் கண்டால்,

And if the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague be not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin;

அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியன் அதைக்கழுவச்சொல்லி, இரண்டாந்தரம் ஏழுநாள் அடைத்துவைத்து,

Then the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up seven days more:

அது கழுவப்பட்டபின்பு, அதைப் பார்க்கக்கடவன்; அந்தத் தோஷம் அதிகப்படாதிருந்தாலும், அது நிறம் மாறாததாயிருந்தால் தீட்டாயிருக்கும்; அக்கினியில் அதைச் சுட்டெரிக்கவேண்டும்; அது அவ்வஸ்திரத்தின் உட்புறத்திலும் வெளிப்புறத்திலும் உருவ அரிக்கும்.

And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.

கழுவப்பட்டபின்பு அது குறுகிற்றென்று ஆசாரியன் கண்டானேயாகில், அதை வஸ்திரத்திலாவது, தோலிலாவது, பாவிலாவது, ஊடையிலாவது இராதபடிக்கு எடுத்துப்போடவேண்டும்.

And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the washing of it; then he shall rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:

அது இன்னும் வஸ்திரத்திலாவது, பாவிலாவது, ஊடையிலாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவிலாவது காணப்பட்டால், அது படருகிற தோஷம்; ஆகையினால் அது உள்ளதை அக்கினியில் சுட்டெரிக்கவேண்டும்.

And if it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any thing of skin; it is a spreading plague: thou shalt burn that wherein the plague is with fire.

வஸ்திரத்தின் பாவாவது, ஊடையாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவாவது கழுவப்பட்டபின்பு, அந்தத் தோஷம் அதை விட்டுப் போயிற்றேயானால், இரண்டாந்தரம் கழுவப்படவேண்டும்; அப்பொழுது சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

And the garment, either warp, or woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.

ஆட்டுமயிராலாகிலும் பஞ்சுநூலாலாகிலும் நெய்த வஸ்திரத்தையாவது, பாவையாவது, ஊடையையாவது, தோலினால் செய்த எந்தவித வஸ்துவையாவது, சுத்தமென்றாவது தீட்டென்றாவது தீர்க்கிறதற்கு, அதினுடைய குஷ்டதோஷத்துக்கடுத்த பிரமாணம் இதுவே என்றார்.

This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 8

பின்பு, அவர் பட்டணங்கள்தோறும் கிராமங்கள்தோறும் பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்குரிய நற்செய்தியைக் கூறிப் பிரசங்கித்துவந்தார். பன்னிருவரும் அவருடனேகூட இருந்தார்கள்.

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

அவர் பொல்லாத ஆவிகளையும் வியாதிகளையும் நீக்கிக் குணமாக்கின சில ஸ்திரீகளும், ஏழு பிசாசுகள் நீங்கின மகதலேனாள் என்னப்பட்ட மரியாளும்,

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

ஏரோதின் காரியக்காரனான கூசாவின் மனைவியாகிய யோவன்னாளும், சூசன்னாளும், தங்கள் ஆஸ்திகளால் அவருக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்துகொண்டுவந்த மற்ற அநேகம் ஸ்திரீகளும் அவருடனே இருந்தார்கள்.

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

சகல பட்டணங்களிலுமிருந்து திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து கூடினபோது, அவர் உவமையாகச் சொன்னது:

And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

விதைக்கிறவன் ஒருவன் விதையை விதைக்கப் புறப்பட்டான்; அவன் விதைக்கையில் சில விதை வழியருகே விழுந்து மிதியுண்டது, ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகள் வந்து அதைப் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது.

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

சில விதை கற்பாறையின்மேல் விழுந்தது; அது முளைத்தபின் அதற்கு ஈரமில்லாததினால் உலர்ந்துபோயிற்று.

And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

சில விதை முள்ளுள்ள இடங்களில் விழுந்தது; முள் கூடவளர்ந்து, அதை நெருக்கிப்போட்டது.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

சில விதை நல்ல நிலத்தில் விழுந்தது, அது முளைத்து, ஒன்று நூறாகப் பலன் கொடுத்தது என்றார். இவைகளைச் சொல்லி, கேட்கிறதற்குக் காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கக்கடவன் என்று சத்தமிட்டுக் கூறினார்.

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சீஷர்கள், இந்த உவமையின் கருத்து என்னவென்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டார்கள்.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

அதற்கு அவர்: தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தின் இரகசியங்களை அறியும்படி உங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்டது; மற்றவர்களுக்கோ, அவர்கள் கண்டும் காணாதவர்களாகவும், கேட்டும் உணராதவர்களாகவும் இருக்கத்தக்கதாக, அவைகள் உவமைகளாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது.

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

அந்த உவமையின் கருத்தாவது: விதை தேவனுடைய வசனம்.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

வழியருகே விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் வசனத்தைக் கேட்கிறவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் விசுவாசித்து இரட்சிக்கப்படாதபடிக்குப் பிசாசானவன் வந்து, அவ்வசனத்தை அவர்கள் இருதயத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துப்போடுகிறான்.

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

கற்பாறையின்மேல் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் கேட்கும்போது, சந்தோஷத்துடனே வசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; ஆயினும் தங்களுக்குள்ளே வேர்கொள்ளாதபடியினாலே, கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் விசுவாசித்து, சோதனைகாலத்தில் பின்வாங்கிப்போகிறார்கள்.

They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

முள்ளுள்ள இடங்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் வசனத்தைக் கேட்கிறவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; கேட்டவுடனே போய், பிரபஞ்சத்திற்குரிய கவலைகளினாலும் ஐசுவரியத்தினாலும் சிற்றின்பங்களினாலும் நெருக்கப்பட்டு, பலன்கொடாதிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

நல்ல நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் வசனத்தைக்கேட்டு, அதை உண்மையும் நன்மையுமான இருதயத்திலே காத்துப் பொறுமையுடனே பலன்கொடுக்கிறவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

ஒருவனும் விளக்கைக் கொளுத்தி, அதை ஒரு பாத்திரத்தினாலே மூடவுமாட்டான், கட்டிலின்கீழே வைக்கவுமாட்டான்; உள்ளே பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்கள் அதின் வெளிச்சத்தைக் காணும்படிக்கு அதை விளக்குத்தண்டின்மேல் வைப்பான்.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

வெளியரங்கமாகாத இரகசியமுமில்லை, அறியப்பட்டு வெளிக்குவராத மறைபொருளுமில்லை.

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

ஆதலால் நீங்கள் கேட்கிற விதத்தைக்குறித்துக் கவனியுங்கள்; உள்ளவனெவனோ அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; இல்லாதவனெவனோ அவன் தனக்குண்டென்று நினைக்கிறதும் அவனிடத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும் என்றார்.

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

அப்பொழுது அவருடைய தாயாரும் சகோதரரும் அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; ஜனக்கூட்டத்தினாலே அவரண்டையில் அவர்கள் சேரக்கூடாதிருந்தது.

Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

அப்பொழுது: உம்முடைய தாயாரும் உம்முடைய சகோதரரும் உம்மைப் பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்று வெளியே நிற்கிறார்கள் என்று அவருக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

அதற்கு அவர்: தேவனுடைய வசனத்தைக் கேட்டு, அதின்படி செய்கிறவர்களே எனக்குத் தாயும் எனக்குச் சகோதரருமாயிருக்கிறார்கள் என்றார்.

And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

பின்பு ஒருநாள் அவர் தமது சீஷரோடுங்கூடப் படவில் ஏறி: கடலின் அக்கரைக்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார்; அப்படியே புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

படவு ஓடுகையில் அவர் நித்திரையாயிருந்தார். அப்பொழுது கடலிலே சுழல் காற்றுண்டானதால், அவர்கள் மோசமடையத்தக்கதாய்ப் படவு ஜலத்தினால் நிறைந்தது.

But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

அவர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து, ஐயரே, ஐயரே, மடிந்து போகிறோம் என்று அவரை எழுப்பினார்கள்; அவர் எழுந்து, காற்றையும் ஜலத்தின் கொந்தளிப்பையும் அதட்டினார்; உடனே அவைகள் நின்றுபோய்,, அமைதலுண்டாயிற்று.

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்கள் விசுவாசம் எங்கே என்றார். அவர்கள் பயந்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: இவர் யாரோ, காற்றுக்கும் ஜலத்துக்கும் கட்டளையிடுகிறார், அவைகளும் இவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

பின்பு கலிலேயாவுக்கு எதிரான கதரேனருடைய நாட்டில் சேர்ந்தார்கள்.

And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

அவர் கரையிலிறங்கினபோது, நெடுநாளாய்ப் பிசாசுகள் பிடித்தவனும், வஸ்திரந்தரியாதவனும், வீட்டில் தங்காமல் பிரேதக் கல்லறைகளிலே தங்கினவனுமாயிருந்த அந்தப் பட்டணத்து மனுஷன் ஒருவன் அவருக்கு எதிராகவந்தான்.

And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

அவன் இயேசுவைக் கண்டபோது கூக்குரலிட்டு, அவருக்கு முன்பாக விழுந்து: இயேசுவே, உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய குமாரனே, எனக்கும் உமக்கும் என்ன? என்னை வேதனைப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு உம்மை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன் என்று மகா சத்தத்தோடே சொன்னான்.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

அந்த அசுத்த ஆவி அவனை விட்டுப்போகும்படி இயேசு கட்டளையிட்டபடியினாலே அப்படிச் சொன்னான். அந்த அசுத்த ஆவி வெகுகாலமாய் அவனைப் பிடித்திருந்தது; அவன் சங்கிலிகளினாலும் விலங்குகளினாலும் கட்டுண்டு காவல்பண்ணப்பட்டிருந்தும் கட்டுகளை முறித்துப்போட்டுப் பிசாசினால் வனாந்தரங்களுக்குத் துரத்தப்பட்டிருந்தான்.

For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: உன் பேர் என்னவென்று கேட்டார்; அதற்கு அவன்: லேகியோன் என்றான்; அநேகம் பிசாசுகள் அவனுக்குள் புகுந்திருந்தபடியால் அந்தப் பேரைச் சொன்னான்.

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

தங்களைப் பாதாளத்திலே போகக்கட்டளையிடாதபடிக்கு அவைகள் அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டன.

And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

அவ்விடத்தில் அநேகம் பன்றிகள் கூட்டமாய் மலையிலே மேய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தது. அந்தப் பன்றிகளுக்குள் போகும்படி தங்களுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டன; அவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுத்தார்.

And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

அப்படியே பிசாசுகள் அந்த மனுஷனைவிட்டு நீங்கி பன்றிகளுக்குள் புகுந்தன; அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பன்றிக்கூட்டம் உயர்ந்த மேட்டிலிருந்து கடலிலே பாய்ந்து, அமிழ்ந்து, மாண்டன.

Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

அவைகளை மேய்த்தவர்கள் சம்பவித்ததைக் கண்டு, ஓடிப்போய், பட்டணத்திலும் சுற்றுப்புறங்களிலும் அறிவித்தார்கள்.

When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

அப்பொழுது சம்பவித்ததைப் பார்க்கும்படி ஜனங்கள் புறப்பட்டு, இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து, பிசாசுகள் விட்டுப்போன மனுஷன் வஸ்திரந்தரித்து இயேசுவின் பாதத்தருகே உட்கார்ந்து புத்திதெளிந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு, பயந்தார்கள்.

Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

பிசாசுகள் பிடித்திருந்தவன் சொஸ்தமாக்கப்பட்டதைக் கண்டவர்களும் அதை அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

அப்பொழுது கதரேனருடைய சுற்றுப்புறத்திலுள்ள திரளான ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மிகவும் பயமடைந்தபடியினாலே, தங்களை விட்டுப்போகும்படி அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள். அந்தப்படி அவர் படவில் ஏறி, திரும்பிப்போனார்.

Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

பிசாசுகள் நீங்கின மனுஷன் அவரோடேகூட இருக்கும்படி உத்தரவு கேட்டான்.

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நீ உன் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், தேவன் உனக்குச் செய்தவைகளையெல்லாம் அறிவி என்று சொல்லி, அவனை அனுப்பிவிட்டார். அந்தப்படி அவன் போய், இயேசு தனக்குச் செய்தவைகளையெல்லாம் பட்டணத்தில் எங்கும் பிரசித்தப்படுத்தினான்.

Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

இயேசு திரும்பி வந்தபோது ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் அவருக்காகக் காத்திருந்தபடியால் அவரைச் சந்தோஷமாய் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

அப்பொழுது ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவனாகிய யவீரு என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒருவன் வந்து, இயேசுவின் பாதத்தில் விழுந்து, பன்னிரண்டு வயதுள்ள தன்னுடைய ஒரே குமாரத்தி மரண அவஸ்தையாயிருந்தபடியால்,

And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

தன் வீட்டிற்கு வரும்படி அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான். அவர் போகையில் திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவரை நெருக்கினார்கள்.

For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

அப்பொழுது பன்னிரண்டு வருஷமாய்ப் பெரும்பாடுள்ளவளாயிருந்து, தன் ஆஸ்திகளையெல்லாம் வைத்தியர்களுக்குச் செலவழித்தும், ஒருவனாலும் சொஸ்தமாக்கப்படாதிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ,

And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

அவருக்குப் பின்னாக வந்து, அவருடைய வஸ்திரத்தின் ஓரத்தைத் தொட்டாள்; உடனே அவளுடைய பெரும்பாடு நின்றுபோயிற்று.

Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு: என்னைத் தொட்டது யார் என்று கேட்டார். எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதென்று எல்லாரும் சொன்னபோது, பேதுருவும் அவனுடனேகூட இருந்தவர்களும்: ஐயரே, திரளான ஜனங்கள் உம்மைச் சூழ்ந்து நெருக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களே, என்னைத் தொட்டது யார் என்று எப்படிக் கேட்கிறீர் என்றார்கள்.

And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

அதற்கு இயேசு: என்னிலிருந்து வல்லமை புறப்பட்டதை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; ஆதலால் ஒருவர் என்னைத் தொட்டதுண்டு என்றார்.

And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ தான் மறைந்திருக்கவில்லையென்று கண்டு, நடுங்கிவந்து, அவர் முன்பாக விழுந்து, தான் அவரைத் தொட்ட காரணத்தையும் உடனே தான் சொஸ்தமானதையும் எல்லா ஜனங்களுக்கும் முன்பாக அவருக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.

And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

அவர் அவளைப் பார்த்து: மகளே, திடன்கொள், உன் விசுவாசம் உன்னை இரட்சித்தது, சமாதானத்தோடே போ என்றார்.

And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவனுடைய வீட்டிலிருந்து ஒருவன் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய குமாரத்தி மரித்துப்போனாள், போதகரை வருத்தப்படுத்தவேண்டாம் என்றான்.

While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

இயேசு அதைக் கேட்டு: பயப்படாதே; விசுவாசமுள்ளவனாயிரு, அப்பொழுது அவள் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவாள் என்றார்.

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

அவர் வீட்டில் வந்தபோது, பேதுருவையும் யாக்கோபையும் யோவானையும் பெண்ணின் தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் தவிர வேறொருவரையும் உள்ளே வரவொட்டாமல்,

And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

எல்லாரும் அழுது அவளைக்குறித்துத் துக்கங்கொண்டாடுகிறதைக் கண்டு: அழாதேயுங்கள், அவள் மரித்துப்போகவில்லை, நித்திரையாயிருக்கிறாள் என்றார்.

And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

அவள் மரித்துப்போனாளென்று அவர்கள் அறிந்ததினால், அவரைப் பார்த்து நகைத்தார்கள்.

And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

எல்லாரையும் அவர் வெளியே போகப்பண்ணி, அவளுடைய கையைப் பிடித்து: பிள்ளையே எழுந்திரு என்றார்.

And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.

அப்பொழுது அவள் உயிர் திரும்பவந்தது; உடனே அவள் எழுந்திருந்தாள்; அவளுக்கு ஆகாரங்கொடுக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

அவள் தாய்தகப்பன்மார் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது நடந்ததை ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லாமலிருக்கும்படி அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
