லேவியராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 10

பின்பு ஆரோனின் குமாரராகிய நாதாபும் அபியூவும் தன்தன் தூபகலசத்தை எடுத்து, அவைகளில் அக்கினியையும் அதின்மேல் தூபவர்க்கத்தையும் போட்டு, கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடாத அந்நிய அக்கினியை அவருடைய சந்நிதியில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

அப்பொழுது அக்கினி கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, அவர்களைப் பட்சித்தது; அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் செத்தார்கள்.

And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

அப்பொழுது மோசே ஆரோனை நோக்கி: என்னிடத்தில் சேருகிறவர்களால் நான் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணப்பட்டு, சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் முன்பாக நான் மகிமைப்படுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொன்னது இதுதான் என்றான்; ஆரோன் பேசாதிருந்தான்.

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

பின்பு மோசே ஆரோனின் சிறிய தகப்பனான ஊசியேலின் குமாரராகிய மீசவேலையும் எல்சாபானையும் அழைத்து: நீங்கள் கிட்டவந்து, உங்கள் சகோதரரைப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்துக்கு முன்னின்று எடுத்து, பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே கொண்டுபோங்கள் என்றான்.

And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

மோசே சொன்னபடி அவர்கள் கிட்டவந்து, அவர்களை அவர்கள் உடுத்தியிருந்த சட்டைகளோடும் எடுத்துப் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.

So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.

மோசே ஆரோனையும் எலெயாசார் இத்தாமார் என்னும் அவன் குமாரரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் சாகாதபடிக்கும், சபையனைத்தின்மேலும் கடுங்கோபம் வராதபடிக்கும், நீங்கள் உங்கள் தலைப்பாகையை எடுத்துப்போடாமலும், உங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழிக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; உங்கள் சகோதரராகிய இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார் யாவரும் கர்த்தர் கொளுத்தின இந்த அக்கினிக்காகப் புலம்புவார்களாக.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.

நீங்கள் சாகாதபடிக்கு ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரவாசலிலிருந்து புறப்படாதிருங்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய அபிஷேகதைலம் உங்கள்மேல் இருக்கிறதே என்றான்; அவர்கள் மோசேயினுடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்தார்கள்.

And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

கர்த்தர் ஆரோனை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,

நீயும் உன்னோடேகூட உன் குமாரரும் சாகாதிருக்கவேண்டுமானால், ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, திராட்சரசத்தையும் மதுவையும் குடிக்கவேண்டாம்.

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

பரிசுத்தமுள்ளதற்கும் பரிசுத்தமில்லாததற்கும், தீட்டுள்ளதற்கும் தீட்டில்லாததற்கும், வித்தியாசம் பண்ணும்படிக்கும்,

And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

கர்த்தர் மோசேயைக்கொண்டு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொன்ன சகலபிரமாணங்களையும் அவர்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும்படிக்கும், இது உங்கள் தலைமுறைதோறும் நித்திய கட்டளையாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

மோசே ஆரோனையும் மீதியாயிருந்த அவன் குமாரராகிய எலெயாசாரையும் இத்தாமாரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய தகனபலிகளில் மீதியான போஜனபலியை எடுத்து, பலிபீடத்தண்டையிலே புளிப்பில்லாததாகப் புசியுங்கள்; அது மகா பரிசுத்தமானது.

And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:

அதைப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே புசியுங்கள்; அது கர்த்தருடைய தகனபலிகளில் உனக்கும் உன் குமாரருக்கும் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டதாயிருக்கிறது; இப்படிக்கட்டளை பெற்றிருக்கிறேன்.

And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons' due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am commanded.

அசைவாட்டும் மார்க்கண்டத்தையும், ஏறெடுத்துப் படைக்கும் முன்னந்தொடையையும், நீயும் உன்னோடேகூட உன் குமாரரும் குமாரத்திகளும் சுத்தமான ஸ்தலத்திலே புசிப்பீர்களாக; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய சமாதானபலிகளில் அவைகள் உனக்கும் உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் கிடைக்கும்படி ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons' due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.

கொழுப்பாகிய தகனபலிகளோடே அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் அசைவாட்டும் பலியாக அசைவாட்டும்படி ஏறெடுத்துப் படைக்கும் முன்னந்தொடையையும், அசைவாட்டும் மார்க்கண்டத்தையும் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்; அது கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே உனக்கும் உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் நித்திய கட்டளையாக ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்றான்.

The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, by a statute for ever; as the LORD hath commanded.

பாவநிவாரணபலியாகச் செலுத்தப்பட்ட வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாவை மோசே தேடிப்பார்த்தான்; அது தகனிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது; ஆகையால், மீதியாயிருந்த எலெயாசார் இத்தாமார் என்னும் ஆரோனின் குமாரர்மேல் அவன் கோபங்கொண்டு:

And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,

பாவநிவாரணபலியை நீங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் புசியாமற்போனதென்ன? அது மகா பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறதே; சபையின் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமந்து தீர்ப்பதற்குக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் அவர்களுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யும்பொருட்டு, அதை உங்களுக்கு கொடுத்தாரே.

Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?

அதின் இரத்தம் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்துக்குள்ளே கொண்டுவரப்படவில்லையே; நான் கட்டளையிட்டபடி நீங்கள் அதைப்பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் புசிக்கவேண்டியதாயிருந்ததே என்றான்.

Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.

அப்பொழுது ஆரோன் மோசையை நோக்கி: அவர்கள் தங்கள் பாவநிவாரணபலியையும், தங்கள் சர்வாங்கதகனபலியையும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் செலுத்தின இன்றுதானே எனக்கு இப்படி நேரிட்டதே; பாவநிவாரணபலியை இன்று நான் புசித்தேனானால், அது கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்கு நன்றாய் இருக்குமோ என்றான்.

And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?

மோசே அதைக் கேட்டபோது அமைதலாயிருந்தான்.

And when Moses heard that, he was content.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால், பூமியிலிருக்கிற சகல மிருகங்களிலும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தக்க ஜீவ ஜந்துக்கள் யாதெனில்:

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

மிருகங்களில் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதாயிருந்து, குளம்புகள் இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்திருக்கிறதும் அசைபோடுகிறதுமானவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

ஆனாலும், அசைபோடுகிறதும் விரிகுளம்புள்ளதுமானவைகளில் ஒட்டகமானது அசைபோடுகிறதாயிருந்தாலும், அதற்கு விரிகுளம்பில்லாதபடியால், அது உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

இவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசிக்கவும், இவைகளின் உடல்களைத் தொடவும் வேண்டாம்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

ஜலத்திலிருக்கிறவைகளில் நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தக்கது யாதெனில்: கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீர்களிலே சிறகும் செதிளும் உள்ளவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

ஆனாலும், கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீர்களில் நீந்துகிறதும் வாழ்கிறதுமான பிராணிகளில் சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாதவைகள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவைகளின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசியாதிருந்து, அவைகளின் உடல்களை அருவருப்பீர்களாக.

They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

தண்ணீர்களிலே சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாத யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

பறவைகளில் நீங்கள் புசியாமல் அருவருக்கவேண்டியவைகள் யாதெனில்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,

And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

பருந்தும், சகலவித வல்லூறும்,

And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

சகலவித காகங்களும்,

Every raven after his kind;

தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவித டேகையும்,

And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

ஆந்தையும், நீர்க்காகமும், கோட்டானும்,

And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

நாரையும், கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும்,

And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வௌவாலும் ஆகிய இவைகளே.

And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிற ஊரும்பிராணிகள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

ஆகிலும், பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிற யாவிலும், நீங்கள் புசிக்கத்தக்கது யாதெனில்: தரையிலே தத்துகிறதற்குக் கால்களுக்குமேல் தொடைகள் உண்டாயிருக்கிறவைகளிலே,

Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

வெட்டுக்கிளி ஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும், சோலையாம் என்னும் கிளிஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும், அர்கொல் என்னும் கிளிஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும், ஆகாபு என்னும் கிளிஜாதியாயிருக்கிறதையும் நீங்கள் புசிக்கலாம்.

Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலு காலால் நடமாடுகிற மற்ற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

அவைகளாலே தீட்டுப்படுவீர்கள்; அவைகளின் உடலைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

அவைகளின் உடலைச் சுமந்தவன் எவனும் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

விரிநகங்களுள்ளவைகளாயிருந்தும், இருபிளவான குளம்பில்லாமலும் அசைபோடாமலும் இருக்கிற மிருகங்கள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகளைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் தீட்டுப்படுவான்.

The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

நாலுகாலால் நடக்கிற சகல ஜீவன்களிலும் தங்கள் உள்ளங்கால்களை ஊன்றி நடக்கிற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருப்பதாக; அவைகளின் உடலைத்தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

அவைகளின் உடலைச் சுமந்தவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்; இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

தரையில் ஊருகிற பிராணிகளில் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவைகள் எவையெனில்: பெருச்சாளியும், எலியும், சகலவிதமான ஆமையும்,

These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

உடும்பும், அழுங்கும், ஓணானும், பல்லியும், பச்சோந்தியும் ஆகிய இவைகளே.

And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

சகல ஊரும் பிராணிகளிலும் இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவைகளில் செத்ததைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

அவைகளில் செத்தது ஒன்று யாதொன்றின்மேல் விழுந்தால் அது தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அது மரப்பாத்திரமானாலும், வஸ்திரமானாலும், தோலானாலும், பையானாலும், வேலை செய்கிறதற்கேற்ற ஆயுதமானாலும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டாயிருக்கும்; அது தண்ணீரில் போடப்படவேண்டும், அப்பொழுது சுத்தமாகும்.

And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

அவைகளில் ஒன்று மண்பாண்டத்திற்குள் விழுந்தால், அதற்குள் இருக்கிறவை யாவும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அதை உடைத்துப்போடவேண்டும்.

And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

புசிக்கத்தக்க போஜனபதார்த்தத்தின்மேல் அந்தத் தண்ணீர் பட்டால், அது தீட்டாகும்; குடிக்கத்தக்க எந்தப்பானமும் அப்படிப்பட்ட பாத்திரத்தினால் தீட்டுப்படும்.

Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

அவைகளின் உடலில் யாதொன்று எதின்மேல் விழுதோ, அதுவும் தீட்டுப்படும்; அடுப்பானாலும் மண்தொட்டியானாலும் தகர்க்கப்படுவதாக; அவைகள் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; ஆகையால், அவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

ஆனாலும், நீரூற்றும் மிகுந்த ஜலம் உண்டாகிய கிணறும், சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்; அவைகளிலுள்ள உடலைத் தொடுகிறவனோ தீட்டுப்படுவான்.

Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

மேற்சொல்லியவைகளின் உடலில் யாதொன்று விதைத்தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தால், அது தீட்டுப்படாது.

And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

அந்த உடலில் யாதொன்று தண்ணீர் வார்க்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற விதையின்மேல் விழுந்ததானால், அது உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரத்துக்கான ஒரு மிருகம் செத்தால், அதின் உடலைத்தொடுகிறவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

அதின் மாம்சத்தைப் புசித்தவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவன் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்; அதின் உடலை எடுத்துப்போனவனும் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்கக்கடவன்; அவனும் சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

தரையில் ஊருகிற பிராணிகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவை புசிக்கப்படலாகாது.

And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

தரையில் ஊருகிற சகல பிராணிகளிலும், வயிற்றினால் நகருகிறவைகளையும், நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிறவைகளையும் அநேகங் கால்களுள்ளவைகளையும் புசியாதிருப்பீர்களாக; அவைகள் அருவருப்பானவைகள்.

Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

ஊருகிற எந்தப் பிராணிகளிலும் உங்களை அருவருப்பாக்கிக்கொள்ளாமலும், அவைகளால் தீட்டுப்படாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; அவைகளாலே நீங்கள் தீட்டுப்படுவீர்கள்.

Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

நான் உங்கள் தேவனாயிருக்கும்படி உங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணின கர்த்தர், நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால். நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருப்பீர்களாக.

For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

சுத்தமானதற்கும் அசுத்தமானதற்கும், புசிக்கத்தக்க ஜந்துக்களுக்கும் புசிக்கத்தகாத ஜந்துக்களுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் பண்ணும்பொருட்டு,

This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

மிருகத்துக்கும், பறவைகளுக்கும், தண்ணீர்களில் நீந்துகிற சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்களுக்கும், பூமியின்மேல் ஊருகிற சகல பிராணிகளுக்கும் அடுத்த பிரமாணம் இதுவே என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.

To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

லேவியராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 12

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சொல்ல வேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: ஒரு ஸ்திரீ கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஆண்பிள்ளையைப் பெற்றால், அவள் சூதகஸ்திரீ விலக்கமாயிருக்கும் நாட்களுக்குச் சரியாக ஏழுநாள் தீட்டாயிருப்பாள்.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.

எட்டாம் நாளிலே அந்தப் பிள்ளையினுடைய நுனித்தோலின் மாம்சம் விருத்தசேதனம் பண்ணப்படக்கடவது.

And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

பின்பு அவள் முப்பத்துமூன்றுநாள் தன் உதிரச் சுத்திகரிப்பு நிலையிலே இருந்து, சுத்திகரிப்பின் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறுமளவும் பரிசுத்தமான யாதொரு வஸ்துவைத் தொடவும் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்துக்குள் வரவுங் கூடாது.

And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.

ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைக் கொண்டுவர அவளுக்குச் சக்தியில்லாதிருந்தால், இரண்டு காட்டுப்புறாக்களையாவது இரண்டு புறாக்குஞ்சுகளையாவது, ஒன்றைச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியாகவும் மற்றொன்றைப் பாவநிவாரணபலியாகவும் கொண்டுவரக்கடவள்; அதினால் ஆசாரியன் அவளுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யக்கடவன்; அப்பொழுது அவள் சுத்தமாவாள் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

அங்கே நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதியாகிய ஒருவனுக்குப் பிரியமான வேலைக்காரன் வியாதிப்பட்டு மரண அவஸ்தையாயிருந்தான்.

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

அவன் இயேசுவைக்குறித்துக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவர் வந்து தன் வேலைக்காரனைக் குணமாக்கவேண்டுமென்று, அவரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளும்படி யூதருடைய மூப்பரை அவரிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான்.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போனார். வீட்டுக்குச் சமீபமானபோது, நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதி தன் சிநேகிதரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அவரிடத்தில்போய், ஆண்டவரே! நீர் வருத்தப்படவேண்டாம்; நீர் என் வீட்டு வாசலுக்குள் பிரவேசிக்க நான் பாத்திரன் அல்ல;

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

நான் உம்மிடத்தில் வரவும் என்னைப் பாத்திரனாக எண்ணவில்லை; ஒரு வார்த்தைமாத்திரம் சொல்லும், அப்பொழுது என் வேலைக்காரன் சொஸ்தமாவான்.

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

நான் அதிகாரத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவனாயிருந்தும், எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்கிற சேவகருமுண்டு; நான் ஒருவனைப் போவென்றால் போகிறான், மற்றொருவனை வாவென்றால் வருகிறான், என் வேலைக்காரனை, இதைச் செய்யென்றால் செய்கிறான் என்று நான் சொன்னதாகச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று அவர்களை அனுப்பினான்.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

இயேசு இவைகளைக் கேட்டு அவனைக் குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, திரும்பி, தமக்குப் பின்செல்லுகிற திரளான ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளும் நான் இப்படிப்பட்ட விசவாசத்தைக் காணவில்லை என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்கள் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தபோது, வியாதியாய்க்கிடந்த வேலைக்காரன் சுகமடைந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டார்கள்.

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

அவர் ஊரின் வாசலுக்குச் சமீபித்தபோது, மரித்துப்போன ஒருவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணும்படி கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவன் தன் தாய்க்கு ஒரே மகனாயிருந்தான். அவளோ கைம்பெண்ணாயிருந்தாள்; ஊராரில் வெகு ஜனங்கள் அவளுடனேகூட வந்தார்கள்.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

கர்த்தர் அவளைப் பார்த்து, அவள்மேல் மனதுருகி: அழாதே என்று சொல்லி,

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

கிட்டவந்து, பாடையைத் தொட்டார்; அதைச் சுமந்தவர்கள் நின்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்: வாலிபனே, எழுந்திரு என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

மரித்தவன் எழுந்து உட்கார்ந்து, பேசத்தொடங்கினான். அவனை அவன் தாயினிடத்தில் ஒப்புவித்தார்.

And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

எல்லாரும் பயமடைந்து: மகா தீர்க்கதரிசியானவர் நமக்குள்ளே தோன்றியிருக்கிறார் என்றும், தேவன் தமது ஜனங்களைச் சந்தித்தார் என்றும் சொல்லி, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

இந்தச் செய்தி யூதேயா தேசமுழுவதிலும் சுற்றியிருக்கிற திசைகள் யாவற்றிலும் பிரசித்தமாயிற்று.

And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

இவைகளையெல்லாம் யோவானுடைய சீஷர்கள் அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது யோவான் தன் சீஷரில் இரண்டுபேரை அழைத்து,

And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

நீங்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்திற்குப் போய்: வருகிறவர் நீர்தானா? அல்லது வேறொருவர் வரக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டுமா? என்று கேளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினான்.

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

அந்தப்படி அவர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: வருகிறவர் நீர்தானா? அல்லது வேறொருவர் வரக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டுமா? என்று கேட்கும்படி யோவான்ஸ்நானன் எங்களை உம்மிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினார் என்றார்கள்.

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

அந்தச் சமயத்திலே நோய்களையும் கொடிய வியாதிகளையும் பொல்லாத ஆவிகளையும் கொண்டிருந்த அநேகரை அவர் குணமாக்கி, அநேகங்குருடருக்குப் பார்வையளித்தார்.

And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீங்கள் போய், கண்டவைகளையும் கேட்டவைகளையும் யோவானுக்கு அறிவியுங்கள்; குருடர் பார்வையடைகிறார்கள், சப்பாணிகள் நடக்கிறார்கள், குஷ்டரோகிகள் சுத்தமாகிறார்கள், செவிடர் கேட்கிறார்கள், மரித்தோர் எழுந்திருக்கிறார்கள், தரித்திரருக்குச் சுவிசேஷம் பிரசங்கிக்கப்படுகிறது.

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

என்னிடத்தில் இடறலடையாதிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ அவன் பாக்கியவான் என்றார்.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

யோவானுடைய தூதர்கள் போனபின்பு அவர் யோவானைக்குறித்து ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்: எதைப்பார்க்க வனாந்தரத்திற்குப் போனீர்கள்? காற்றினால் அசையும் நாணலையோ?

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

அல்லவென்றால், எதைப்பார்க்கப்போனீர்கள்? மெல்லிய வஸ்திரந்தரித்த மனுஷனையோ? அலங்கார வஸ்திரந்தரித்துச் செல்வமாய் வாழ்கிறவர்கள் அரசர் மாளிகைகளிலே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

அல்லவென்றால், எதைப்பார்க்கப் போனீர்கள்? தீர்க்கதரிசியையோ? ஆம், தீர்க்கதரிசியைப் பார்க்கிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவனையே என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

இதோ, நான் என் தூதனை உமக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்புகிறேன்; அவன் உமக்கு முன்னே போய், உமது வழியை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுவான் என்று எழுதிய வாக்கியத்தால் குறிக்கப்பட்டவன் இவன்தான்.

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

ஸ்திரீகளிடத்திலே பிறந்தவர்களில் யோவான்ஸ்நானனைப்பார்க்கிலும் பெரிய தீர்க்கதரிசி ஒருவனுமில்லை; ஆகிலும், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் சிறியவனாயிருக்கிறவன் அவனிலும் பெரியவனாயிருக்கிறானென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

யோவானுடைய உபதேசத்தைக் கேட்ட ஆயக்காரர் முதலான சகல ஜனங்களும் அவனாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, தேவன் நீதிபரர் என்று அறிக்கையிட்டார்கள்.

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

பரிசேயரும் நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளுமோ அவனாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறாமல் தங்களுக்குக் கேடுண்டாக தேவனுடைய ஆலோசனையைத் தள்ளிவிட்டார்கள்.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் சொன்னது: இந்தச் சந்ததியை யாருக்கு ஒப்பிடுவேன்? இவர்கள் யாருக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள்?

And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

சந்தை வெளியில் உட்கார்ந்து, ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்காகக் குழல் ஊதினோம், நீங்கள் கூத்தாடவில்லை; உங்களுக்காகப் புலம்பினோம், நீங்கள் அழவில்லை என்று குறை சொல்லுகிற பிள்ளைகளுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

எப்படியெனில், யோவான்ஸ்நானன் அப்பம் புசியாதவனும் திராட்சரசம் குடியாதவனுமாய் வந்தான்; அதற்கு நீங்கள்: அவன் பிசாசு பிடித்திருக்கிறவன் என்கிறீர்கள்.

For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

But wisdom is justified of all her children.

And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

அப்பொழுது அந்த ஊரிலிருந்த பாவியாகிய ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவர் பரிசேயன் வீட்டிலே பந்தியிருக்கிறதை அறிந்து, ஒரு பரணியில் பரிமளதைலம் கொண்டுவந்து,

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: சீமோனே, உனக்கு நான் ஒரு காரியம் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்றார் அதற்கு அவன்: போதகரே, சொல்லும் என்றான்.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

அப்பொழுது அவர்: ஒருவனிடத்தில் இரண்டுபேர் கடன்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்; ஒருவன் ஐந்நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசும், மற்றவன் ஐம்பது வெள்ளிக்காசும் கொடுக்கவேண்டியதாயிருந்தது.

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

கொடுக்க அவர்களுக்கு நிர்வாகமில்லாதபோது, இருவருக்கும் கடனை மன்னித்துவிட்டான். இப்படியிருக்க, அவர்களில் எவன் அவனிடத்தில் அதிக அன்பாயிருப்பான்? அதைச் சொல் என்றார்.

And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

சீமோன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: எவனுக்கு அதிகமாய் மன்னித்துவிட்டானோ அவனே அதிக அன்பாயிருப்பான் என்று நினைக்கிறேன் என்றான்; அதற்கு அவர்: சரியாய் நிதானித்தாய் என்று சொல்லி,

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

அவளை நோக்கி: உன் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது என்றார்.

And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

அப்பொழுது கூடப் பந்தியிருந்தவர்கள்: பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கிற இவன் யார் என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

அவர் ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: உன் விசுவாசம் உன்னை இரட்சித்தது, சமாதானத்தோடே போ என்றார்.

And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
