யாத்திராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 1

எகிப்துக்குப் போன இஸ்ரவேலுடைய குமாரரின் நாமங்களாவன: ரூபன், சிமியோன், லேவி, யூதா,

Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.

இசக்கார், செபுலோன், பென்யமீன்,

Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

தாண், நப்தலி, காத், ஆசேர் என்பவைகளே.

Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

இவர்கள் யாக்கோபுடனே தங்கள்தங்கள் குடும்பத்தோடுங்கூடப் போனார்கள்.

Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

யோசேப்போ அதற்கு முன்னமே எகிப்தில் போயிருந்தான். யாக்கோபின் கர்ப்பப்பிறப்பாகிய யாவரும் எழுபது பேர்.

And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.

யோசேப்பும் அவனுடைய சகோதரர் யாவரும், அந்தத் தலைமுறையார் எல்லாரும் மரணமடைந்தார்கள்.

And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் மிகுதியும் பலுகி, ஏராளமாய்ப் பெருகிப் பலத்திருந்தார்கள்; தேசம் அவர்களால் நிறைந்தது.

And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

யோசேப்பை அறியாத புதிய ராஜன் ஒருவன் எகிப்தில் தோன்றினான்.

Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

அவன் தன் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: இதோ, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய ஜனங்கள் நம்மிலும் ஏராளமானவர்களும், பலத்தவர்களுமாய் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

அவர்கள் பெருகாதபடிக்கும், ஒரு யுத்தம் உண்டானால், அவர்களும் நம்முடைய பகைஞரோடே கூடி, நமக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணி, தேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போகாதபடிக்கும், நாம் அவர்களைக்குறித்து ஒரு உபாயம்பண்ணவேண்டும் என்றான்.

Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

அப்படியே அவர்களைச் சுமைசுமக்கிற வேலையினால் ஒடுக்கும்படிக்கு, அவர்கள்மேல் விசாரணைக்காரரை வைத்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் பார்வோனுக்காகப் பித்தோம், ராமசேஸ் என்னும் பண்டசாலைப் பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டினார்கள்.

Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

ஆனாலும் அவர்களை எவ்வளவு ஒடுக்கினார்களோ அவ்வளவாய் அவர்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகினார்கள். ஆகையால் அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக்குறித்து எரிச்சல் அடைந்தார்கள்.

But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.

எகிப்தியர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக் கொடுமையாய் வேலைவாங்கினார்கள்.

And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:

சாந்தும் செங்கலுமாகிய இவைகளைச் செய்யும் வேலையினாலும், வயலில் செய்யும் சகலவித வேலையினாலும், அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஜீவனையும் கசப்பாக்கினார்கள்; அவர்களைக்கொண்டு செய்வித்த மற்ற எல்லா வேலைகளிலும், அவர்களைக் கொடுமையாய் நடத்தினார்கள்.

And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

அதுவுமன்றி, எகிப்தின் ராஜா, சிப்பிராள் பூவாள் என்னும் பேருடைய எபிரெய மருத்துவச்சிகளோடே பேசி:

And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

நீங்கள் எபிரெய ஸ்திரீகளுக்கு மருத்துவம் செய்யும்போது, அவர்கள் மணையின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கையில் பார்த்து, ஆண்பிள்ளையானால் கொன்றுபோடுங்கள், பெண்பிள்ளையானால் உயிரோடிருக்கட்டும் என்றான்.

And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

மருத்துவச்சிகளோ, தேவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால், எகிப்தின் ராஜா தங்களுக்கு இட்ட கட்டளைப்படி செய்யாமல், ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையும் உயிரோடே காப்பாற்றினார்கள்.

But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

அதினால் எகிப்தின் ராஜா மருத்துவச்சிகளை அழைப்பித்து: நீங்கள் ஆண்பிள்ளைகளை உயிரோடே காப்பாற்றுகிற காரியம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

அதற்கு மருத்துவச்சிகள் பார்வோனை நோக்கி: எபிரெய ஸ்திரீகள் எகிப்திய ஸ்திரீகளைப்போல் அல்ல, அவர்கள் நல்ல பலமுள்ளவர்கள்; மருத்துவச்சி அவர்களிடத்துக்குப் போகுமுன்னமே அவர்கள் பிரசவித்தாகும் என்றார்கள்.

And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.

இதினிமித்தம் தேவன் மருத்துவச்சிகளுக்கு நன்மைசெய்தார். ஜனங்கள் பெருகி மிகுதியும் பலத்துப்போனார்கள்.

Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

மருத்துவச்சிகள் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால், அவர்களுடைய குடும்பங்கள் தழைக்கும்படி செய்தார்.

And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

அப்பொழுது பார்வோன், பிறக்கும் ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையெல்லாம் நதியிலே போட்டுவிடவும், பெண்பிள்ளைகளையெல்லாம் உயிரோடே வைக்கவும் தன் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாருக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டான்.

And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

யாத்திராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 2

லேவியின் குடும்பத்தாரில் ஒருவன் லேவியின் குமாரத்திகளில் ஒருத்தியை விவாகம்பண்ணினான்.

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

அந்த ஸ்திரீ கர்ப்பவதியாகி, ஒரு ஆண்பிள்ளையைப் பெற்று, அது அழகுள்ளது என்று கண்டு, அதை மூன்று மாதம் ஒளித்துவைத்தாள்.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

அவள் அதை அப்புறம் ஒளித்துவைக்கக்கூடாமல், ஒரு நாணற்பெட்டியை எடுத்து, அதற்குப் பிசினும் கீலும் பூசி, அதிலே பிள்ளையை வளர்த்தி, நதியோரமாய் நாணலுக்குள்ளே வைத்தாள்.

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.

அதற்கு என்ன சம்பவிக்கும் என்பதை அறியும்படி அதின் தமக்கை தூரத்திலே நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தாள்.

And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

அப்பொழுது பார்வோனுடைய குமாரத்தி நதியில் ஸ்நானம்பண்ண வந்தாள்; அவளுடைய தாதிகள் நதியோரத்தில் உலாவினார்கள்; அவள் நாணலுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிற பெட்டியைக் கண்டு, தன் தாதியை அனுப்பி அதைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி செய்தாள்.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

அதைத் திறந்தபோது பிள்ளையைக்கண்டாள்; பிள்ளை அழுதது; அவள் அதின்மேல் இரக்கமுற்று, இது எபிரெயர் பிள்ளைகளில் ஒன்று என்றாள்.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.

அப்பொழுது அதின் தமக்கை பார்வோனின் குமாரத்தியை நோக்கி: உமக்கு இந்தப் பிள்ளையை வளர்க்கும்படி எபிரெய ஸ்திரீகளில் பால்கொடுக்கிற ஒருத்தியை நான் போய் உம்மிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வரட்டுமா என்றாள்.

Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

அதற்குப் பார்வோனுடைய குமாரத்தி: அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்றாள். இந்தப் பெண் போய்ப் பிள்ளையின் தாயையே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தாள்.

And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.

பார்வோனுடைய குமாரத்தி அவளை நோக்கி: நீ இந்தப் பிள்ளையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதை எனக்கு வளர்த்திடு, நான் உனக்குச் சம்பளம் கொடுக்கிறேன் என்றாள். அந்த ஸ்திரீ பிள்ளையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதை வளர்த்தாள்.

And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

பிள்ளை பெரிதானபோது, அவள் அதைப் பார்வோனுடைய குமாரத்தியினிடத்தில் கொண்டுபோய் விட்டாள். அவளுக்கு அவன் குமாரனானான். அவள்: அவனை ஜலத்தினின்று எடுத்தேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு மோசே என்று பேரிட்டாள்.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

அங்கும் இங்கும் பார்த்து, ஒருவரும் இல்லை என்று அறிந்து, எகிப்தியனை வெட்டி, அவனை மணலிலே புதைத்துப்போட்டான்.

And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

அவன் மறுநாளிலும் வெளியே போனபோது, எபிரெய மனுஷர் இருவர் சண்டைபண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவன் அநியாயஞ்செய்கிறவனை நோக்கி: நீ உன் தோழனை அடிக்கிறது என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

அதற்கு அவன்: எங்கள்மேல் உன்னை அதிகாரியாகவும் நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் ஏற்படுத்தினவன் யார்? நீ எகிப்தியனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டதுபோல, என்னையும் கொன்றுபோட நினைக்கிறாயோ என்றான். அப்பொழுது மோசே காரியம் நிச்சயமாக வெளிப்பட்டது என்று பயந்தான்.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

பார்வோன் அந்தக் காரியத்தைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, மோசேயைக் கொலைசெய்ய வகைதேடினான். மோசே பார்வோனிடத்தினின்று தப்பியோடி, மீதியான் தேசத்தில் போய்த் தங்கி, ஒரு துரவண்டையிலே உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான்.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

மீதியான் தேசத்து ஆசாரியனுக்கு ஏழு குமாரத்திகள் இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டும்படிக்கு அங்கே வந்து, தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, தொட்டிகளை நிரப்பினார்கள்.

Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

அப்பொழுது மேய்ப்பர்கள் வந்து, அவர்களைத் துரத்தினார்கள்; மோசே எழுந்திருந்து, அவர்களுக்குத் துணை நின்று, அவர்களுடைய ஆடுகளுக்குத் தண்ணீர் காட்டினான்.

And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் தகப்பனாகிய ரெகுவேலிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, அவன்: நீங்கள் இன்று இத்தனை சீக்கிரமாய் வந்தது என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எகிப்தியன் ஒருவன் மேய்ப்பரின் கைகளுக்கு எங்களைத் தப்புவித்து, எங்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் மொண்டு கொடுத்து, ஆடுகளுக்கும் தண்ணீர் காட்டினான் என்றார்கள்.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் குமாரத்திகளைப் பார்த்து, அவன் எங்கே? அந்த மனிதனை நீங்கள் விட்டுவந்தது என்ன? போஜனம்பண்ணும்படிக்கு அவனை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

மோசே அந்த மனிதனிடத்தில் தங்கியிருக்கச் சம்மதித்தான். அவன் சிப்போராள் என்னும் தன் குமாரத்தியை மோசேக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

அவள் ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்றாள். நான் அந்நிய தேசத்தில் பரதேசியாய் இருக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்கு கெர்சோம் என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

சிலகாலம் சென்றபின், எகிப்தின் ராஜா மரித்தான். இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அடிமைத்தனத்தினால் தவித்து, முறையிட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து முறையிடும் சத்தம் தேவசந்நிதியில் எட்டினது.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

தேவன் அவர்கள் பெருமூச்சைக்கேட்டு, தாம் ஆபிரகாமோடும் ஈசாக்கோடும் யாக்கோபோடும் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

தேவன் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக் கண்ணோக்கினார்; தேவன் அவர்களை நினைத்தருளினார்.

And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

மத்தேயு அத்தியாயம் 28

ஓய்வுநாள் முடிந்து, வாரத்தின் முதலாம் நாள் விடிந்துவருகையில், மகதலேனா மரியாளும் மற்ற மரியாளும் கல்லறையைப் பார்க்கவந்தார்கள்.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

அப்பொழுது, பூமி மிகவும் அதிரும்படி, கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் வானத்திலிருந்திறங்கிவந்து, வாசலிலிருந்த கல்லைப் புரட்டித் தள்ளி, அதின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்தான்.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

அவனுடைய ரூபம் மின்னல்போலவும், அவனுடைய வஸ்திரம் உறைந்தமழையைப்போல வெண்மையாகவும் இருந்தது.

His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

காவலாளர் அவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் திடுக்கிட்டுச் செத்தவர்கள்போலானார்கள்.

And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

தூதன் அந்த ஸ்திரீகளை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட இயேசுவைத் தேடுகிறீர்கள் என்று அறிவேன்.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

அவர் இங்கே இல்லை; தாம் சொன்னபடியே உயிர்த்தெழுந்தார்; கர்த்தரை வைத்த இடத்தை வந்து பாருங்கள்;

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

சீக்கிரமாய்ப் போய், அவர் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்தார் என்று அவருடைய சீஷர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள். அவர் உங்களுக்குமுன்னே கலிலேயாவுக்குப் போகிறார்; அங்கே அவரைக் காண்பீர்கள்; இதோ, உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன் என்றான்.

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

அவர்கள் பயத்தோடும் மகா சந்தோஷத்தோடும் கல்லறையை விட்டுச் சீக்கிரமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டு, அவருடைய சீஷர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்க ஓடினார்கள்.

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

அவர்கள் அவருடைய சீஷர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்போகிறபோது, இயேசு தாமே அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டு: வாழ்க என்றார். அவர்கள் கிட்டவந்து, அவர் பாதங்களைத் தழுவி, அவரை பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; நீங்கள் போய், என் சகோதரர் கலிலேயாவுக்குப்போகும்படி அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்; அங்கே அவர்கள் என்னைக் காண்பார்கள் என்றார்.

Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

அவர்கள் போகையில், காவல்சேவகரில் சிலர் நகரத்துக்குள்ளே வந்து. நடந்த யாவற்றையும் பிரதான ஆசாரியருக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

இவர்கள் மூப்பரோடே கூடிவந்து, ஆலோசனைப்பண்ணி, சேவகருக்கு வேண்டிய பணத்தைக் கொடுத்து:

And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

நாங்கள் நித்திரைபண்ணுகையில், அவனுடைய சீஷர்கள் இராத்திரியிலே வந்து, அவனைக் களவாய்க் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார்கள் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.

Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

இது தேசாதிபதிக்குக் கேள்வியானால், நாங்கள் அவரைச் சம்மதப்படுத்தி, உங்களைத் தப்புவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

அவர்கள் பணத்தை வாங்கிக்கொண்டு, தங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கப்பட்டபடியே செய்தார்கள். இந்தப் பேச்சு யூதருக்குள்ளே இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் பிரசித்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

பதினொரு சீஷர்களும், கலிலேயாவிலே இயேசு தங்களுக்குக் குறித்திருந்த மலைக்குப் போனார்கள்.

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

அங்கே அவர்கள் அவரைக் கண்டு, பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்; சிலரோ சந்தேகப்பட்டார்கள்.

And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு சமீபத்தில் வந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும் சகல அதிகாரமும் எனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

ஆகையால், நீங்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சகல ஜாதிகளையும் சீஷராக்கி, பிதா குமாரன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் நாமத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்து,

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட யாவையும் அவர்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணுங்கள். இதோ, உலகத்தின் முடிவுபரியந்தம் சகல நாட்களிலும் நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன் என்றார். ஆமென்.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
