ஆதியாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 25

ஆபிரகாம் கேத்தூராள் என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு ஸ்திரீயையும் விவாகம்பண்ணியிருந்தான்.

Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

அவள் அவனுக்குச் சிம்ரானையும், யக்க்ஷானையும், மேதானையும், மீதியானையும், இஸ்பாக்கையும், சூவாகையும் பெற்றாள்.

And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

யக்க்ஷான் சேபாவையும், தேதானையும் பெற்றான்; தேதானுடைய குமாரர் அசூரீம், லெத்தூசீம், லெயூமீம் என்பவர்கள்.

And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

மீதியானுடைய குமாரர் ஏப்பா, ஏப்பேர், ஆனோக்கு, அபீதா, எல்தாகா என்பவர்கள்; இவர்கள் எல்லாரும் கேத்தூராளின் பிள்ளைகள்.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

ஆபிரகாம் தனக்கு உண்டான யாவையும் ஈசாக்குக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.

And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இருந்த மறுமனையாட்டிகளின் பிள்ளைகளுக்கோ ஆபிரகாம் நன்கொடைகளைக் கொடுத்து, தான் உயிரோடிருக்கும்போதே அவர்களைத் தன் குமாரனாகிய ஈசாக்கைவிட்டுக் கிழக்கே போகக் கீழ்தேசத்துக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டான்.

But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

ஆபிரகாம் உயிரோடிருந்த ஆயுசு நாட்கள் நூற்று எழுபத்தைந்து வருஷம்.

And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.

பிற்பாடு ஆபிரகாம் நல்ல நரைவயதிலும், முதிர்ந்த பூரண ஆயுசிலும் பிராணன்போய் மரித்து, தன் ஜனத்தாரோடே சேர்க்கப்பட்டான்.

Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

அவன் குமாரராகிய ஈசாக்கும் இஸ்மவேலும் மம்ரேக்கு எதிரே ஏத்தியனான சோகாரின் குமாரனாகிய எப்பெரோனின் நிலத்திலுள்ள மக்பேலா என்னப்பட்ட குகையிலே அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;

அந்த நிலத்தை ஏத்தின் புத்திரர் கையிலே ஆபிரகாம் வாங்கியிருந்தான்; அங்கே ஆபிரகாமும் அவன் மனைவியாகிய சாராளும் அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டார்கள்.

The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

ஆபிரகாம் மரித்தபின் தேவன் அவன் குமாரனாகிய ஈசாக்கை ஆசீர்வதித்தார். லகாய்ரோயீ என்னும் துரவுக்குச் சமீபமாய் ஈசாக்கு குடியிருந்தான்.

And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.

சாராளுடைய அடிமைப்பெண்ணாகிய எகிப்து தேசத்தாளான ஆகார் ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பெற்ற குமாரனாகிய இஸ்மவேலின் வம்சவரலாறு:

Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:

பற்பல சந்ததிகளாய்ப் பிரிந்த இஸ்மவேலின் புத்திரருடைய நாமங்களாவன; இஸ்மவேலுடைய மூத்த மகன் நெபாயோத், பின்பு கேதார், அத்பியேல், மிப்சாம்,

And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

மிஷ்மா, தூமா, மாசா,

And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

ஆதார், தேமா, யெத்தூர், நாபீஸ், கேத்மா என்பவைகளே.

Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

தங்கள் கிராமங்களிலும் அரண்களிலும் குடியிருந்த தங்கள் ஜனத்தாருக்குப் பன்னிரண்டு பிரபுக்களாகிய இஸ்மவேலின் குமாரர்கள் இவர்களே, இவர்களுடைய நாமங்களும் இவைகளே.

These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.

இஸ்மவேலின் வயது நூற்று முப்பத்தேழு. பின்பு அவன் பிராணன் போய் மரித்து, தன் ஜனத்தாரோடே சேர்க்கப்பட்டான்.

And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.

அவர்கள் ஆவிலா துவக்கி எகிப்துக்கு எதிராக அசீரியாவுக்கு போகிற வழியிலிருக்கும் சூர்மட்டும் வாசம்பண்ணினார்கள். இது அவன் சகோதரர் எல்லாருக்கும் முன்பாக அவன் குடியேறின பூமி.

And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

ஆபிரகாமின் குமாரனாகிய ஈசாக்குடைய வம்சவரலாறு; ஆபிரகாம் ஈசாக்கைப் பெற்றான்.

And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:

ஈசாக்கு ரெபெக்காளை விவாகம்பண்ணுகிறபோது நாற்பது வயதாயிருந்தான்; இவள் பதான்அராம் என்னும் சீரியா தேசத்தானாகிய பெத்துவேலுக்குக் குமாரத்தியும், சீரியா தேசத்தானாகிய லாபானுக்குச் சகோதரியுமானவள்.

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

மலடியாயிருந்த தன் மனைவிக்காக ஈசாக்கு கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்தான்; கர்த்தர் அவன் வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டருளினார்; அவன் மனைவி ரெபெக்காள் கர்ப்பந்தரித்தாள்.

And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

அவள் கர்ப்பத்திலே பிள்ளைகள் ஒன்றோடொன்று மோதிக்கொண்டிருந்தன; அப்பொழுது அவள்: இப்படியானால் எனக்கு எப்படியோ என்று சொல்லி, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கும்படி போனாள்.

And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.

அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: இரண்டு ஜாதிகள் உன் கர்ப்பத்தில் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது; இரண்டுவித ஜனங்கள் உன் வயிற்றிலிருந்து பிரியும், அவர்களில் ஒரு ஜனத்தார் மற்ற ஜனத்தாரைப்பார்க்கிலும் பலத்திருப்பார்கள், மூத்தவன் இளையவனைச் சேவிப்பான் என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

பிரசவகாலம் பூரணமானபோது, அவள் கர்ப்பத்தில் இரட்டைப் பிள்ளைகள் இருந்தது.

And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

மூத்தவன் சிவந்த நிறமுள்ளவனாயும் சர்வாங்கமும் ரோம அங்கி போர்த்தவன் போலவும் வெளிப்பட்டான்; அவனுக்கு ஏசா என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்.

And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

பின்பு, அவன் சகோதரன் தன் கையினாலே ஏசாவின் குதிங்காலைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு வெளிப்பட்டான்; அவனுக்கு யாக்கோபு என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்; இவர்களை அவள் பெற்றபோது ஈசாக்கு அறுபது வயதாயிருந்தான்.

And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

இந்தப் பிள்ளைகள் பெரியவர்களானபோது, ஏசா வேட்டையில் வல்லவனும் வனசஞ்சாரியுமாய் இருந்தான்; யாக்கோபு குணசாலியும் கூடாரவாசியுமாய் இருந்தான்.

And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

ஏசா வேட்டையாடிக் கொண்டுவருகிறது ஈசாக்கினுடைய வாய்க்கு ருசிகரமாயிருந்ததினாலே ஏசாவின்மேல் பட்சமாயிருந்தான்; ரெபெக்காளோ யாக்கோபின்மேல் பட்சமாயிருந்தாள்.

And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

ஒருநாள் ஏசா வெளியிலிருந்து களைத்து வந்தபோது, யாக்கோபு கூழ் சமைத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

அப்பொழுது ஏசா யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: அந்தச் சிவப்பான கூழிலே நான் சாப்பிடக் கொஞ்சம் தா, இளைத்திருக்கிறேன் என்றான்; இதனாலே அவனுக்கு ஏதோம் என்கிற பேர் உண்டாயிற்று.

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு: உன் சேஷ்ட புத்திரபாகத்தை இன்று எனக்கு விற்றுப்போடு என்றான்.

And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

அதற்கு ஏசா: இதோ, நான் சாகப்போகிறேனே, இந்தச் சேஷ்ட புத்திரபாகம் எனக்கு என்னத்திற்கு என்றான்.

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு: இன்று எனக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடு என்றான்; அவன் யாக்கோபுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு, தன் சேஷ்ட புத்திரபாகத்தை அவனுக்கு விற்றுப்போட்டான்.

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு ஏசாவுக்கு அப்பத்தையும் பயற்றங்கூழையும் கொடுத்தான்; அவன் புசித்துக் குடித்து எழுந்திருந்து போய்விட்டான். இப்படி ஏசா தன் சேஷ்ட புத்திரபாகத்தை அலட்சியம் பண்ணினான்.

Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

ஆதியாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 26

ஆபிரகாமின் நாட்களில் உண்டான பஞ்சத்தை அல்லாமல், பின்னும் ஒரு பஞ்சம் தேசத்தில் உண்டாயிற்று; அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு பெலிஸ்தருக்கு ராஜாவாகிய அபிமெலேக்கினிடத்தில் கேராருக்குப் போனான்.

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி: நீ எகிப்துக்குப் போகாமல், நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லும் தேசத்திலே குடியிரு.

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

இந்தத் தேசத்திலே வாசம்பண்ணு; நான் உன்னோடேகூட இருந்து, உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன்; நான் உனக்கும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் இந்தத் தேசங்கள் யாவையும் தந்து, உன் தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்கு நான் இட்ட ஆணையை நிறைவேற்றுவேன்.

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

ஆபிரகாம் என் சொல்லுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, என் விதிகளையும், என் கற்பனைகளையும், என் நியமங்களையும், என் பிரமாணங்களையும் கைக்கொண்டபடியினால்,

And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

நான் உன் சந்ததியை வானத்தின் நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலப் பெருகப்பண்ணி, உன் சந்ததிக்கு இந்தத் தேசங்கள் யாவையும் தருவேன்; உன் சந்ததிக்குள் பூமியிலுள்ள சகல ஜாதிகளும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும் என்றார்.

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

ஈசாக்கு கேராரிலே குடியிருந்தான்.

And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

அவ்விடத்து மனிதர்கள் அவன் மனைவியைக்குறித்து விசாரித்தபோது: இவள் என் சகோதரி என்றான். ரெபெக்காள் பார்வைக்கு அழகுள்ளவளானபடியால், அவ்விடத்து மனிதர்கள் அவள்நிமித்தம் தன்னைக் கொல்லுவார்கள் என்று எண்ணி, அவளைத் தன் மனைவி என்று சொல்லப் பயந்தான்.

And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

அவன் அங்கே நெடுநாள் தங்கியிருக்கையில், பெலிஸ்தருக்கு ராஜாவாகிய அபிமெலேக்கு ஜன்னல் வழியாய்ப் பார்க்கும்போது, ஈசாக்கு தன் மனைவியாகிய ரெபெக்காளோடே விளையாடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதைக் கண்டான்.

And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

அபிமெலேக்கு ஈசாக்கை அழைத்து: அவள் உன் மனைவியாயிருக்கிறாளே! பின்னை ஏன் அவளை உன் சகோதரி என்று சொன்னாய் என்றான். அதற்கு ஈசாக்கு: அவள் நிமித்தம் நான் சாகாதபடிக்கு, இப்படிச் சொன்னேன் என்றான்.

And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.

அதற்கு அபிமெலேக்கு: எங்களிடத்தில் ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்தாய்? ஜனங்களுக்குள் யாராகிலும் உன் மனைவியோடே சயனிக்கவும், எங்கள்மேல் பழி சுமரவும் நீ இடமுண்டாக்கினாயே என்றான்.

And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

பின்பு, அபிமெலேக்கு: இந்தப் புருஷனையாகிலும் இவன் மனைவியையாகிலும் தொடுகிறவன் நிச்சயமாய்க் கொலைசெய்யப்படுவான் என்று எல்லா ஜனங்களும் அறியச் சொன்னான்.

And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

ஈசாக்கு அந்தத் தேசத்தில் விதைவிதைத்தான்; கர்த்தர் அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்ததினால் அந்த வருஷத்தில் நூறுமடங்கு பலன் அடைந்தான்;

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

அவன் ஐசுவரியவானாகி, வரவர விருத்தியடைந்து, மகா பெரியவனானான்.

And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

அவனுக்கு ஆட்டு மந்தையும், மாட்டு மந்தையும், அநேக பணிவிடைக்காரரும் இருந்தபடியினாலே பெலிஸ்தர் அவன் பேரில் பொறாமைகொண்டு,

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

அவன் தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் நாட்களில் அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர் வெட்டின துரவுகளையெல்லாம் தூர்த்து மண்ணினால் நிரப்பிப்போட்டார்கள்.

For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

அபிமெலேக்கு ஈசாக்கை நோக்கி: நீ எங்களை விட்டுப் போய்விடு; எங்களைப் பார்க்கிலும் மிகவும் பலத்தவனானாய் என்றான்.

And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.

அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு அவ்விடம் விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, கேராரின் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே கூடாரம் போட்டு, அங்கே குடியிருந்து,

And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் நாட்களில் வெட்டினவைகளும், ஆபிரகாம் மரித்தபின் பெலிஸ்தர் தூர்த்துப்போட்டவைகளுமான துரவுகளை மறுபடியும் தோண்டி, தன் தகப்பன் அவைகளுக்கு இட்டிருந்த பேர்களின்படியே அவைகளுக்குப் பேரிட்டான்.

And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

ஈசாக்குடைய வேலைக்காரர் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே வெட்டி, அங்கே சுரக்கும் நீரூற்றைக் கண்டார்கள்.

And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.

கேராரூர் மேய்ப்பர் இந்தத் தண்ணீர் தங்களுடையது என்று சொல்லி, ஈசாக்குடைய மேய்ப்பருடனே வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்கள் தன்னோடே வாக்குவாதம் பண்ணினபடியால், அந்தத் துரவுக்கு ஏசேக்கு என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.

வேறொரு துரவை வெட்டினார்கள்; அதைக்குறித்தும் வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணினார்கள்; ஆகையால் அதற்கு சித்னா என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.

பின்பு அவ்விடம்விட்டுப் பெயர்ந்துபோய், வேறொரு துரவை வெட்டினான்; அதைக்குறித்து அவர்கள் வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணவில்லை; அப்பொழுது அவன்: நாம் தேசத்தில் பலுகும்படிக்கு, இப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் நமக்கு இடம் உண்டாக்கினார் என்று சொல்லி, அதற்கு ரெகொபோத் என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

அங்கேயிருந்து பெயெர்செபாவுக்குப் போனான்.

And he went up from thence to Beersheba.

அன்று ராத்திரியிலே கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி: நான் உன் தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமுடைய தேவன், பயப்படாதே, நான் உன்னோடேகூட இருந்து, என் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய ஆபிரகாமினிமித்தம் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதித்து, உன் சந்ததியைப் பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன் என்றார்.

And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

அங்கே அவன் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொண்டு, அங்கே தன் கூடாரத்தைப் போட்டான். அவ்விடத்தில் ஈசாக்கின் வேலைக்காரர் ஒரு துரவை வெட்டினார்கள்.

And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

அபிமெலேக்கும் அவன் சிநேகிதனாகிய அகுசாத்தும் அவன் சேனாபதியாகிய பிகோலும், கேராரிலிருந்து அவனிடத்துக்கு வந்தார்கள்.

Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.

அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஏன் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தீர்கள்? நீங்கள் என்னைப் பகைத்து, என்னை உங்களிடத்தில் இராதபடிக்குத் துரத்திவிட்டீர்களே என்றான்.

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நிச்சயமாய் கர்த்தர் உம்மோடேகூட இருக்கிறார் என்று கண்டோம்; ஆகையால் எங்களுக்கும் உமக்கும் ஒரு ஆணை ஏற்பாடு உண்டாகவேண்டும் என்று நாங்கள் நிர்ணயம் பண்ணினோம்.

And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

நாங்கள் உம்மைத் தொடாமல், நன்மையையே உமக்குச் செய்து, உம்மைச் சமாதானத்தோடே அனுப்பிவிட்டதுபோல, நீரும் எங்களுக்குத் தீங்குசெய்யாதபடிக்கு உம்மோடே உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணிக்கொள்ள வந்தோம்; நீர் கர்த்தரால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவராமே என்றார்கள்.

That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

அவன் அவர்களுக்கு விருந்துபண்ணினான், அவர்கள் புசித்துக் குடித்தார்கள்.

And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.

அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள். பின்பு ஈசாக்கு அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்; அவர்கள் அவனிடத்திலிருந்து சமாதானத்தோடே போய்விட்டார்கள்.

And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

அந்நாளில்தானே ஈசாக்கின் வேலைக்காரர் வந்து, தாங்கள் துரவு வெட்டின செய்தியை அவனுக்கு அறிவித்து, தண்ணீர் கண்டோம் என்றார்கள்.

And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water.

அதற்கு சேபா என்று பேரிட்டான்; ஆகையால் அந்த ஊரின் பேர் இந்நாள் வரைக்கும் பெயெர்செபா என்னப்படுகிறது.

And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

ஏசா நாற்பது வயதானபோது, ஏத்தியனான பெயேரியினுடைய குமாரத்தியாகிய யூதீத்தையும், ஏத்தியனான ஏலோனுடைய குமாரத்தியாகிய பஸ்மாத்தையும் விவாகம்பண்ணினான்.

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

அவர்கள் ஈசாக்குக்கும் ரெபெக்காளுக்கும் மனநோவாயிருந்தார்கள்.

Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

இயேசு அன்றையதினமே வீட்டிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கடலோரத்திலே உட்கார்ந்தார்.

The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.

திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவரிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தபடியால், அவர் படவில் ஏறி உட்கார்ந்தார்; ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் கரையிலே நின்றார்கள்.

And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

அவர் அநேக விசேஷங்களை உவமைகளாக அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்: கேளுங்கள், விதைக்கிறவன் ஒருவன் விதைக்கப் புறப்பட்டான்.

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

அவன் விதைக்கையில், சில விதை வழியருகே விழுந்தது; பறவைகள் வந்து அதைப் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது.

And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

சில விதை அதிக மண்ணில்லாத கற்பாறை இடங்களில் விழுந்தது; மண் ஆழமாயிராததினாலே அது சீக்கிரமாய் முளைத்தது.

Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

வெயில் ஏறினபோதோ, தீய்ந்துபோய், வேரில்லாமையால் உலர்ந்துபோயிற்று.

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

சில விதை முள்ளுள்ள இடங்களில் விழுந்தது; முள் வளர்ந்து அதை நெருக்கிப்போட்டது.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

சில விதையோ நல்ல நிலத்தில் விழுந்து, சிலது நூறாகவும், சிலது அறுபதாகவும், சிலது முப்பதாகவும் பலன் தந்தது.

But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

கேட்கிறதற்குக் காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கக்கடவன் என்றார்.

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

அப்பொழுது, சீஷர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: ஏன் அவர்களோடே உவமைகளாகப் பேசுகிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

அவர்களுக்கு அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: பரலோகராஜ்யத்தின் இரகசியங்களை அறியும்படி உங்களுக்கு அருளப்பட்டது, அவர்களுக்கோ அருளப்படவில்லை.

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

உள்ளவன் எவனோ அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும், பரிபூரணமும் அடைவான்; இல்லாதவன் எவனோ அவனிடத்தில் உள்ளதும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும்.

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

அவர்கள் கண்டும் காணாதவர்களாயும், கேட்டும் கேளாதவர்களாயும், உணர்ந்துகொள்ளாதவர்களாயும் இருக்கிறபடியினால், நான் உவமைகளாக அவர்களோடே பேசுகிறேன்.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

ஏசாயாவின் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் அவர்களிடத்தில் நிறைவேறுகிறது; அதாவது: காதாரக்கேட்டும் உணராதிருப்பீர்கள்; கண்ணாரக்கண்டும் அறியாதிருப்பீர்கள்.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

இந்த ஜனங்கள் கண்களினால் காணாமலும், காதுகளினால் கேளாமலும், இருதயத்தினால் உணர்ந்து மனந்திரும்பாமலும், நான் அவர்களை ஆரோக்கியமாக்காமலும் இருக்கும்படியாக, அவர்கள் இருதயம் கொழுத்திருக்கிறது; காதால் மந்தமாய்க் கேட்டு, தங்கள் கண்களை மூடிக்கொண்டார்கள் என்பதே.

For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

உங்கள் கண்கள் காண்கிறதினாலும், உங்கள் காதுகள் கேட்கிறதினாலும், அவைகள் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகள்.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

அநேக தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் நீதிமான்களும் நீங்கள் காண்கிறவைகளைக் காணவும், நீங்கள் கேட்கிறவைகளைக் கேட்கவும் விரும்பியும், காணாமலும் கேளாமலும் போனார்களென்று, மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

ஆகையால் விதைக்கிறவனைப்பற்றிய உவமையைக் கேளுங்கள்.

Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

ஒருவன், ராஜ்யத்தின் வசனத்தைக் கேட்டும் உணராதிருக்கும்போது, பொல்லாங்கன் வந்து, அவன் இருதயத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டதைப் பறித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; அவனே வழியருகே விதைக்கப்பட்டவன்.

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

கற்பாறை இடங்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவன், வசனத்தைக் கேட்டு, உடனே அதைச் சந்தோஷத்தோடே ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறவன்;

But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

ஆகிலும் தனக்குள்ளே வேரில்லாதவனாய், கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் நிலைத்திருப்பான்; வசனத்தினிமித்தம் உபத்திரவமும் துன்பமும் உண்டானவுடனே இடறலடைவான்.

Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

முள்ளுள்ள இடங்களில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவன், வசனத்தைக் கேட்கிறவனாயிருந்து, உலகக்கவலையும் ஐசுவரியத்தின் மயக்கமும் வசனத்தை நெருக்கிப்போடுகிறதினால், அவனும் பலனற்றுப்போவான்.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

நல்ல நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவனோ, வசனத்தைக் கேட்கிறவனும் உணருகிறவனுமாயிருந்து, நூறாகவும் அறுபதாகவும் முப்பதாகவும் பலன் தருவான் என்றார்.

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

வேறொரு உவமையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்: பரலோகராஜ்யம் தன் நிலத்தில் நல்ல விதையை விதைத்த மனுஷனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது.

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

மனுஷர் நித்திரைபண்ணுகையில் அவனுடைய சத்துரு வந்து, கோதுமைக்குள் களைகளை விதைத்துவிட்டுப்போனான்.

But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

பயிரானது வளர்ந்து கதிர்விட்டபோது, களைகளும் காணப்பட்டது.

But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

வீட்டெஜமானுடைய வேலைக்காரர் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து: ஆண்டவனே, நீர் உமது நிலத்தில் நல்ல விதையை விதைத்தீர் அல்லவா? பின்னை அதில் களைகள் எப்படி உண்டானது என்றார்கள்.

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

அதற்கு அவன்: சத்துரு அதைச் செய்தான் என்றான். அப்பொழுது வேலைக்காரர்: நாங்கள் போய் அவைகளைப் பிடுங்கிப்போட உமக்குச் சித்தமா? என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

அதற்கு அவன்: வேண்டாம், களைகளைப் பிடுங்கும்போது நீங்கள் கோதுமையையுங்கூட வேரோடே பிடுங்காதபடிக்கு, இரண்டையும் அறுப்புமட்டும் வளரவிடுங்கள்.

But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

அறுப்புக்காலத்தில் நான் அறுக்கிறவர்களை நோக்கி: முதலாவது, களைகளைப் பிடுங்கி, அவைகளைச் சுட்டெரிக்கிறதற்குக் கட்டுகளாகக் கட்டுங்கள்; கோதுமையையோ என் களஞ்சியத்தில் சேர்த்துவையுங்கள் என்பேன் என்று சொன்னான் என்றார்.

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

வேறொரு உவமையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்: பரலோகராஜ்யம் கடுகுவிதைக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது; அதை ஒரு மனுஷன் எடுத்துத் தன் நிலத்தில் விதைத்தான்.

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

அது சகல விதைகளிலும் சிறியதாயிருந்தும், வளரும்போது, சகல பூண்டுகளிலும் பெரியதாகி, ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகள் அதின் கிளைகளில் வந்து அடையத்தக்க மரமாகும் என்றார்.

Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

வேறொரு உவமையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்: பரலோகராஜ்யம் புளித்தமாவுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது; அதை ஒரு ஸ்திரீ எடுத்து, முழுவதும் புளிக்கும்வரைக்கும், மூன்றுபடி மாவிலே அடக்கிவைத்தாள் என்றார்.

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

இவைகளையெல்லாம் இயேசு ஜனங்களோடே உவமைகளாகப் பேசினார்; உவமைகளினாலேயன்றி, அவர்களோடே பேசவில்லை.

All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

என் வாயை உவமைகளினால் திறப்பேன்; உலகத்தோற்றமுதல் மறைபொருளானவைகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன் என்று தீர்க்கதரிசியால் உரைக்கப்பட்டது நிறைவேறும்படி இப்படி நடந்தது.

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு ஜனங்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டு வீட்டுக்குப் போனார். அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: நிலத்தின் களைகளைப்பற்றிய உவமையை எங்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தவேண்டுமென்று கேட்டார்கள்.

Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நல்ல விதையை விதைக்கிறவன் மனுஷகுமாரன்;

He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

நிலம் உலகம்; நல்ல விதை ராஜ்யத்தின் புத்திரர்; களைகள் பொல்லாங்கனுடைய புத்திரர்;

The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

அவைகளை விதைக்கிற சத்துரு பிசாசு; அறுப்பு உலகத்தின் முடிவு; அறுக்கிறவர்கள் தேவதூதர்கள்.

The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

ஆதலால், களைகளைச்சேர்த்து அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கிறதுபோல, இவ்வுலகத்தின் முடிவிலே நடக்கும்.

As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

மனுஷகுமாரன் தம்முடைய தூதர்களை அனுப்புவார்; அவர்கள் அவருடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் இருக்கிற சகல இடறல்களையும் அக்கிரமஞ்செய்கிறவர்களையும் சேர்த்து,

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

அவர்களை அக்கினிச் சூளையிலே போடுவார்கள்; அங்கே அழுகையும் பற்கடிப்பும் உண்டாயிருக்கும்.

And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

அப்பொழுது, நீதிமான்கள் தங்கள் பிதாவின் ராஜ்யத்திலே சூரியனைப்போலப் பிரகாசிப்பார்கள். கேட்கிறதற்குக் காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கக்கடவன்.

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

அன்றியும், பரலோகராஜ்யம் நிலத்தில் புதைத்திருக்கிற பொக்கிஷத்துக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது; அதை ஒரு மனுஷன் கண்டு, மறைத்து, அதைப்பற்றிய சந்தோஷத்தினாலே போய், தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, அந்த நிலத்தைக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

மேலும், பரலோகராஜ்யம் நல்ல முத்துக்களைத்தேடுகிற வியாபாரிக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

அவன் விலையுயர்ந்த ஒரு முத்தைக்கண்டு, போய், தனக்குண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, அதைக் கொள்ளுகிறான்.

Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

அன்றியும், பரலோகராஜ்யம் கடலிலே போடப்பட்டு, சகலவிதமான மீன்களையும் சேர்த்து வாரிக்கொள்ளும் வலைக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

அது நிறைந்தபோது, அதைக் கரையில் இழுத்து, உட்கார்ந்து, நல்லவைகளைக் கூடைகளில் சேர்த்து, ஆகாதவைகளை எறிந்துபோடுவார்கள்.

Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

இப்படியே உலகத்தின் முடிவிலே நடக்கும். தேவதூதர்கள் புறப்பட்டு, நீதிமான்களின் நடுவிலிருந்து பொல்லாதவர்களைப் பிரித்து,

So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

அவர்களை அக்கினிச்சூளையிலே போடுவார்கள்; அங்கே அழுகையும் பற்கடிப்பும் உண்டாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

பின்பு, இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: இவைகளையெல்லாம் அறிந்துகொண்டீர்களா என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ஆம், அறிந்துகொண்டோம், ஆண்டவரே, என்றார்கள்.

Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: இப்படியிருக்கிறபடியால், பரலோகராஜ்யத்துக்கடுத்தவைகளில் உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டுத் தேறின வேதபாரகன் எவனும் தன் பொக்கிஷத்திலிருந்து புதியவைகளையும் பழையவைகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொடுக்கிற வீட்டெஜமானாகிய மனுஷனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான் என்றார்.

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

இயேசு இந்த உவமைகளைச் சொல்லி முடித்தபின்பு, அவ்விடம் விட்டு,

And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

தாம் வளர்ந்த ஊரிலே வந்து, அவர்களுடைய ஜெபஆலயத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம் பண்ணினார். அவர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: இவனுக்கு இந்த ஞானமும் பலத்த செய்கைகளும் எப்படி வந்தது?

And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

இவன் தச்சனுடைய குமாரன் அல்லவா? இவன் தாய் மரியாள் என்பவள் அல்லவா? யாக்கோபு, யோசே, சீமோன், யூதா என்பவர்கள் இவனுக்குச் சகோதரர் அல்லவா?

Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

இவன் சகோதரிகளெல்லாரும் நம்மிடத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள் அல்லவா? இப்படியிருக்க, இதெல்லாம் இவனுக்கு எப்படி வந்தது? என்று சொல்லி,

And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

அவரைக்குறித்து இடறலடைந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: தீர்க்கதரிசி ஒருவன் தன் ஊரிலும் தன் வீட்டிலுமேயன்றி வேறெங்கும் கனவீனமடையான் என்றார்.

And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

அவர்களுடைய அவிசுவாசத்தினிமித்தம் அவர் அங்கே அநேக அற்புதங்களைச் செய்யவில்லை.

And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
