எண்ணாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 24

இஸ்ரவேலை ஆசீர்வதிப்பதே கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரியம் என்று பிலேயாம் கண்டபோது, அவன் முந்திச் செய்து வந்ததுபோல நிமித்தம் பார்க்கப் போகாமல், வனாந்தரத்திற்கு நேராகத் தன் முகத்தைத் திருப்பி,

And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேல் தன் கோத்திரங்களின்படியே பாளயமிறங்கியிருக்கிறதைப் பார்த்தான்; தேவஆவி அவன்மேல் வந்தது.

And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: பேயோரின் குமாரனாகிய பிலேயாம் சொல்லுகிறதாவது, கண் திறக்கப்பட்டவன் உரைக்கிறதாவது,

And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

தேவன் அருளும் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, சர்வவல்லவரின் தரிசனத்தைக் கண்டு தாழவிழும்போது, கண்திறக்கப்பட்டவன் விளம்புகிறதாவது,

He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

யாக்கோபே, உன் கூடாரங்களும், இஸ்ரவேலே, உன் வாசஸ்தலங்களும் எவ்வளவு அழகானவைகள்!

How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!

அவைகள் பரவிப்போகிற ஆறுகளைப்போலவும், நதியோரத்திலுள்ள தோட்டங்களைப்போலவும், கர்த்தர் நாட்டின சந்தனமரங்களைப்போலவும், தண்ணீர் அருகே உள்ள கேதுரு விருட்சங்களைப்போலவும் இருக்கிறது.

As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.

அவர்களுடைய நீர்ச்சால்களிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் பாயும்; அவர்கள் வித்து திரளான தண்ணீர்களில் பரவும்; அவர்களுடைய ராஜா ஆகாகைப் பார்க்கிலும் உயருவான்; அவர்கள் ராஜ்யம் மேன்மையடையும்.

He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.

தேவன் அவர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; காண்டாமிருகத்துக்கொத்த பெலன் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு; அவர்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களாகிய ஜாதிகளைப் பட்சித்து, அவர்கள் எலும்புகளை நொறுக்கி, அவர்களைத் தங்கள் அம்புகளாலே எய்வார்கள்.

God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

சிங்கம்போலவும் துஷ்ட சிங்கம்போலவும் மடங்கிப் படுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களை எழுப்புகிறவன் யார்? உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறவன் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவன், உங்களைச் சபிக்கிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்றான்.

He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.

அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமின்மேல் கோபம் மூண்டவனாகி, கையோடே கைதட்டி, பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: என் சத்துருக்களைச் சபிக்க உன்னை அழைத்தனுப்பினேன்; நீயோ இந்த மூன்றுமுறையும் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்தாய்.

And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.

ஆகையால் உன் இடத்துக்கு ஓடிப்போ; உன்னை மிகவும் கனம்பண்ணுவேன் என்றேன்; நீ கனமடையாதபடிக்குக் கர்த்தர் தடுத்தார் என்றான்.

Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.

அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: பாலாக் எனக்குத் தன் வீடு நிறைய வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் கொடுத்தாலும், நான் என் மனதாய் நன்மையாகிலும் தீமையாகிலும் செய்கிறதற்குக் கர்த்தரின் கட்டளையை மீறக்கூடாது; கர்த்தர் சொல்வதையே சொல்வேன் என்று,

And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,

நீர் என்னிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பின ஸ்தானாபதிகளிடத்தில் நான் சொல்லவில்லையா?

If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?

இதோ, நான் என் ஜனத்தாரிடத்திற்குப் போகிறேன்; பிற்காலத்திலே இந்த ஜனங்கள் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்குச் செய்வது இன்னதென்று உமக்குத் தெரிவிப்பேன் வாரும் என்று சொல்லி,

And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.

அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: பேயோரின் குமாரன் பிலேயாம் சொல்லுகிறதாவது, கண் திறக்கப்பட்டவன் உரைக்கிறதாவது,

And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

தேவன் அருளும் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, உன்னதமானவர் அளித்த அறிவை அறிந்து, சர்வவல்லவரின் தரிசனத்தைக் கண்டு, தாழவிழும்போது, கண் திறக்கப்பட்டவன் விளம்புகிறதாவது;

He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

அவரைக் காண்பேன், இப்பொழுது அல்ல; அவரைத் தரிசிப்பேன், சமீபமாய் அல்ல; ஒரு நட்சத்திரம் யாக்கோபிலிருந்து உதிக்கும், ஒரு செங்கோல் இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து எழும்பும்; அது மோவாபின் எல்லைகளை நொறுக்கி, சேத்புத்திரர் எல்லாரையும் நிர்மூலமாக்கும்.

I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

ஏதோம் சுதந்தரமாகும், சேயீர் தன் சத்துருக்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகும்; இஸ்ரவேல் பராக்கிரமஞ்செய்யும்.

And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

யாக்கோபிலிருந்து தோன்றும் ஒருவர் ஆளுகை செய்வார்; பட்டணங்களில் மீதியானவர்களை அழிப்பார் என்றான்.

Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

மேலும், அவன் அமலேக்கைப் பார்த்து, தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: அமலேக்கு முந்தியெழும்பினவன்; ஆனாலும் அவன் முடிவில் முற்றிலும் நாசமாவான் என்றான்.

And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.

அன்றியும் அவன் கேனியனைப் பார்த்து, தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: உன் வாசஸ்தலம் அரணிப்பானது; உன் கூட்டைக் கன்மலையில் கட்டினாய்.

And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.

ஆகிலும் கேனியன் அழிந்துபோவான்; அசூர் உன்னைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோக எத்தனை நாள் செல்லும் என்றான்.

Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

பின்னும் அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: ஐயோ, தேவன் இதைச்செய்யும்போது யார் பிழைப்பான்;

And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

சித்தீமின் கரைதுறையிலிருந்து கப்பல்கள் வந்து, அசூரைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, ஏபேரையும் வருத்தப்படுத்தும்; அவனும் முற்றிலும் அழிந்துபோவான் என்றான்.

And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

பின்பு பிலேயாம் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, தன் இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பினான்; பாலாகும் தன் வழியே போனான்.

And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.

எண்ணாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 25

இஸ்ரவேல் சித்தீமிலே தங்கியிருக்கையில், ஜனங்கள் மோவாபின் குமாரத்திகளோடே வேசித்தனம் பண்ணத்தொடங்கினார்கள்.

And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவர்களுக்கு இட்ட பலிகளை விருந்துண்ணும்படி ஜனங்களை அழைத்தார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் போய்ப் புசித்து, அவர்கள் தேவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

இப்படி இஸ்ரவேலர் பாகால்பேயோரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டார்கள்; அதனால் இஸ்ரவேலர்மேல் கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் மூண்டது.

And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரமான கோபம் இஸ்ரவேலை விட்டு நீங்கும்படி நீ ஜனங்களின் தலைவர் எல்லாரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அப்படிச் செய்தவர்களைச் சூரியனுக்கு எதிரே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதானத்தில் தூக்கிப்போடும்படி செய் என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

அப்படியே மோசே இஸ்ரவேலின் நியாயாதிபதிகளை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அவரவர் பாகால்பேயோரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்ட உங்கள் மனிதரைக் கொன்றுபோடுங்கள் என்றான்.

And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் அனைவரும் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலுக்கு முன்பாக அழுதுகொண்டு நிற்கையில், அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் ஒருவன் ஒரு மீதியானிய ஸ்திரீயைத் தன் சகோதரரிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.

And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

அதை ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனின் குமாரனான எலெயாசாரின் மகன் பினெகாஸ் கண்டபோது, அவன் நடுச்சபையிலிருந்து எழுந்து, ஒரு ஈட்டியைத் தன்கையிலே பிடித்து,

And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;

இஸ்ரவேலனாகிய அந்த மனிதன் வேசித்தனம்பண்ணும் அறையிலே அவன் பின்னாலே போய், இஸ்ரவேல் மனிதனும் அந்த ஸ்திரீயுமாகிய இருவருடைய வயிற்றிலும் ஈட்டி உருவிப்போக அவர்களைக் குத்திப்போட்டான்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் உண்டான வாதை நின்றுபோயிற்று.

And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

அந்த வாதையால் செத்தவர்கள் இருபத்துநாலாயிரம்பேர்.

And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நான் என் எரிச்சலில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை நிர்மூலமாக்காதபடிக்கு, ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனின் குமாரனான எலெயாசாரின் மகன் பினெகாஸ், என் நிமித்தம் அவர்கள் நடுவில் பக்திவைராக்கியம் காண்பித்ததினால், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர்மேல் உண்டான என் உக்கிரத்தைத் திருப்பினான்.

Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

ஆகையால், இதோ, அவனுக்கு என் சமாதானத்தின் உடன்படிக்கையைக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.

Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:

And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.

மீதியானிய ஸ்திரீயோடே குத்துண்டு செத்த இஸ்ரவேல் மனிதருடைய பேர் சிம்ரி; அவன் சல்லூவின் குமாரனும், சிமியோனியரின் தகப்பன் வம்சத்தில் ஒரு பிரபுவுமாயிருந்தான்.

Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.

குத்துண்ட மீதியானிய ஸ்திரீயின் பேர் கஸ்பி, அவள் சூரின் குமாரத்தி, அவன் மீதியானியருடைய தகப்பன் வம்சத்தாரான ஜனங்களுக்குத் தலைவனாயிருந்தான்.

And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

மீதியானியரை நெருக்கி அவர்களை வெட்டிப்போடுங்கள்.

Vex the Midianites, and smite them:

பேயோரின் சங்கதியிலும் பேயோரின் நிமித்தம் வாதையுண்டான நாளிலே குத்துண்ட அவர்கள் சகோதரியாகிய கஸ்பி என்னும் மீதியான் பிரபுவினுடைய குமாரத்தியின் சங்கதியிலும், அவர்கள் உங்களுக்குச் செய்த சர்ப்பனைகளினால் உங்களை மோசம்போக்கி நெருக்கினார்களே என்றார்.

For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake.

யோவான் அத்தியாயம் 4

யோவானைப்பார்க்கிலும் இயேசு அநேகம்பேரைச் சீஷராக்கி ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கிறாரென்று பரிசேயர் கேள்விப்பட்டதாகக் கர்த்தர் அறிந்தபோது,

When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

யூதேயாவைவிட்டு மறுபடியுங்கலிலேயாவுக்குப் போனார்.

Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

இயேசு தாமே ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கவில்லை, அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

அவர் சமாரியா நாட்டின் வழியாய்ப் போகவேண்டியதாயிருந்தபடியால்,

And he must needs go through Samaria.

யாக்கோபு தன் குமாரனாகிய யோசேப்புக்குக் கொடுத்த நிலத்துக்கு அருகே இருந்த சமாரியாவிலுள்ள சீகார் என்னப்பட்ட ஊருக்கு வந்தார்.

Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

அங்கே யாக்கோபுடைய கிணறு இருந்தது; இயேசு பிரயாணத்தினால் இளைப்படைந்தவராய் அந்தக் கிணற்றினருகே உட்கார்ந்தார்; அப்பொழுது ஏறக்குறைய ஆறாம்மணி வேளையாயிருந்தது.

Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் போஜனபதார்த்தங்களைக் கொள்ளும்படி ஊருக்குள்ளே போயிருந்தார்கள்.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

அப்பொழுது சமாரியா நாட்டாளாகிய ஒரு ஸ்திரீ தண்ணீர் மொள்ள வந்தாள். இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: தாகத்துக்குத் தா என்றார்.

For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

யூதர்கள் சமாரியருடனே சம்பந்தங்கலவாதவர்களானபடியால், சமாரியா ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: நீர் யூதனாயிருக்க, சமாரியா ஸ்திரீயாகிய என்னிடத்தில், தாகத்துக்குத் தா என்று எப்படிக் கேட்கலாம் என்றாள்.

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

இயேசு அவளுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீ தேவனுடைய ஈவையும், தாகத்துக்குத்தா என்று உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கிறவர் இன்னார் என்பதையும் அறிந்திருந்தாயானால், நீயே அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டிருப்பாய், அவர் உனக்கு ஜீவத்தண்ணீரைக் கொடுத்திருப்பார் என்றார்.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

அதற்கு அந்த ஸ்திரீ: ஆண்டவரே, மொண்டுகொள்ள உம்மிடத்தில் பாத்திரமில்லையே, கிணறும் ஆழமாயிருக்கிறதே, பின்னை எங்கேயிருந்து உமக்கு ஜீவத்தண்ணீர் உண்டாகும்.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

இந்தக் கிணற்றை எங்களுக்குத் தந்த நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய யாக்கோபைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீர் பெரியவரோ? அவரும் அவர் பிள்ளைகளும் அவர் மிருகஜீவன்களும் இதிலே குடித்ததுண்டே என்றாள்.

Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

இயேசு அவளுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இந்தத் தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கிறவனுக்கு மறுபடியும் தாகமுண்டாகும்.

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

நான் கொடுக்கும் தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கிறவனுக்கோ ஒருக்காலும் தாகமுண்டாகாது; நான் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தண்ணீர் அவனுக்குள்ளே நித்திய ஜீவகாலமாய் ஊறுகிற நீரூற்றாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

அந்த ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, எனக்குத் தாகமுண்டாகாமலும், நான் இங்கே மொண்டுகொள்ள வராமலுமிருக்கும்படி அந்தத் தண்ணீரை எனக்குத் தரவேண்டும் என்றாள்.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: நீ போய், உன் புருஷனை இங்கே அழைத்துக் கொண்டுவா என்றார்.

Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

அதற்கு அந்த ஸ்திரீ: எனக்குப் புருஷன் இல்லை என்றாள். இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: எனக்குப் புருஷன் இல்லையென்று நீ சொன்னது சரிதான்.

The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

எப்படியெனில், ஐந்து புருஷர் உனக்கிருந்தார்கள், இப்பொழுது உனக்கிருக்கிறவன் உனக்குப் புருஷனல்ல, இதை உள்ளபடி சொன்னாய் என்றார்.

For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் தீர்க்கதரிசி என்று காண்கிறேன்.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் இந்த மலையிலே தொழுதுகொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; நீங்கள் எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற ஸ்தலத்திலே தொழுதுகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்கிறீர்களே என்றாள்.

Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

அதற்கு இயேசு: ஸ்திரீயே, நான் சொல்லுகிறதை நம்பு. நீங்கள் இந்த மலையிலும் எருசலேமிலும் மாத்திரமல்ல, எங்கும் பிதாவைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுங்காலம் வருகிறது.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

நீங்கள் அறியாததைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறீர்கள்; நாங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறதைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறோம்; ஏனென்றால் இரட்சிப்பு யூதர்கள் வழியாய் வருகிறது.

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

உண்மையாய்த் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறவர்கள் பிதாவை ஆவியோடும் உண்மையோடும் தொழுதுகொள்ளுங்காலம் வரும், அது இப்பொழுதே வந்திருக்கிறது; தம்மைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறவர்கள் இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாயிருக்கும்படி பிதாவானவர் விரும்புகிறார்.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

தேவன் ஆவியாயிருக்கிறார், அவரைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறவர்கள் ஆவியோடும் உண்மையோடும் அவரைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றார்.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

அந்த ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: கிறிஸ்து என்னப்படுகிற மேசியா வருகிறார் என்று அறிவேன், அவர் வரும்போது எல்லாவற்றையும் நமக்கு அறிவிப்பார் என்றாள்.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

அதற்கு இயேசு: உன்னுடனே பேசுகிற நானே அவர் என்றார்.

Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

அத்தருணத்தில் அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் வந்து, அவர் ஸ்திரீயுடனே பேசுகிறதைப்பற்றி ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். ஆகிலும் என்ன தேடுகிறீரென்றாவது, ஏன் அவளுடனே பேசுகிறீரென்றாவது, ஒருவனும் கேட்கவில்லை.

And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

அப்பொழுது அந்த ஸ்திரீ, தன் குடத்தை வைத்துவிட்டு, ஊருக்குள்ளே போய், ஜனங்களை நோக்கி:

The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒரு மனுஷன் எனக்குச் சொன்னார்; அவரை வந்து பாருங்கள்; அவர் கிறிஸ்துதானோ என்றாள்.

Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் ஊரிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்.

Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

இப்படி நடக்கையில் சீஷர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: ரபீ, போஜனம்பண்ணும் என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

அதற்கு அவர்: நான் புசிப்பதற்கு நீங்கள் அறியாத ஒரு போஜனம் எனக்கு உண்டு என்றார்.

But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

அப்பொழுது சீஷர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து: யாராவது அவருக்குப் போஜனம் கொண்டுவந்திருப்பானோ என்றார்கள்.

Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்து அவருடைய கிரியையை முடிப்பதே என்னுடைய போஜனமாயிருக்கிறது.

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

அறுப்புக்காலம் வருகிறதற்கு இன்னும் நாலுமாதம் செல்லும் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிறதில்லையா? இதோ, வயல் நிலங்கள் இப்பொழுதே அறுப்புக்கு விளைந்திருக்கிறதென்று உங்கள் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பாருங்கள் என்று நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

விதைக்கிறவனும் அறுக்கிறவனுமாகிய இருவரும் ஒருமித்துச் சந்தோஷப்படத்தக்கதாக, அறுக்கிறவன் கூலியை வாங்கி, நித்திய ஜீவனுக்காகப் பலனைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

விதைக்கிறவன் ஒருவன் அறுக்கிறவன் ஒருவன் என்கிற மெய்யான வழக்கச்சொல் இதினாலே விளங்குகிறது.

And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

நீங்கள் பிரயாசப்பட்டுப் பயிரிடாததை அறுக்க நான் உங்களை அனுப்பினேன், மற்றவர்கள் பிரயாசப்பட்டார்கள், அவர்களுடைய பிரயாசத்தின் பலனை நீங்கள் பெற்றீர்கள் என்றார்.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

நான் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் எனக்குச் சொன்னார் என்று சாட்சி சொன்ன அந்த ஸ்திரீயினுடைய வார்த்தையினிமித்தம் அந்த ஊரிலுள்ள சமாரியரில் அநேகர் அவர்மேல் விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களானார்கள்.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

சமாரியர் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து, தங்களிடத்தில் தங்கவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்; அவர் இரண்டு நாள் அங்கே தங்கினார்.

So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

அப்பொழுது அவருடைய உபதேசத்தினிமித்தம் இன்னும் அநேகம்பேர் விசுவாசித்து,

And many more believed because of his own word;

அந்த ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: உன் சொல்லினிமித்தம் அல்ல, அவருடைய உபதேசத்தை நாங்களே கேட்டு, அவர் மெய்யாய்க் கிறிஸ்துவாகிய உலகரட்சகர் என்று அறிந்து விசுவாசிக்கிறோம் என்றார்கள்.

And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

இரண்டுநாளைக்குப்பின்பு அவர் அவ்விடம்விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, கலிலேயாவுக்குப் போனார்.

Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசிக்குத் தன் சொந்த ஊரிலே கனமில்லையென்று இயேசு தாமே சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

அவர் கலிலேயாவில் வந்தபோது, எருசலேமில் பண்டிகையிலே அவர் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் பார்த்திருந்த கலிலேயர் அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள்; அவர்களும் பண்டிகைக்குப் போயிருந்தார்கள்.

Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

பின்பு, இயேசு தாம் தண்ணீரைத் திராட்சரசமாக்கின கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள கானா ஊருக்கு மறுபடியும் வந்தார்; அப்பொழுது கப்பர்நகூமிலே ராஜாவின் மனுஷரில் ஒருவனுடைய குமாரன் வியாதியாயிருந்தான்.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்தாரென்று அந்த மனுஷன் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவரிடத்திற்குப் போய், தன் மகன் மரண அவஸ்தையாயிருந்தபடியினாலே, அவனைக் குணமாக்கும்படிக்கு வரவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் காணாவிட்டால் விசுவாசிக்கமாட்டீர்கள் என்றார்.

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

அதற்கு ராஜாவின் மனுஷன்: ஆண்டவரே, என் பிள்ளை சாகிறதற்குமுன்னே வரவேண்டும் என்றான்.

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நீ போகலாம், உன் குமாரன் பிழைத்திருக்கிறான் என்றார். அந்த மனுஷன், இயேசு சொன்ன வார்த்தையை நம்பிப் போனான்.

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

அவன் போகையில், அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து, உம்முடைய குமாரன் பிழைத்திருக்கிறான் என்று அறிவித்தார்கள்.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

அப்பொழுது: எந்த மணிநேரத்தில் அவனுக்குக் குணமுண்டாயிற்று என்று அவர்களிடத்தில் விசாரித்தான் அவர்கள்: நேற்று ஏழாமணிநேரத்தில் ஜூரம் அவனை விட்டது என்றார்கள்.

Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

உன் குமாரன் பிழைத்திருக்கிறான் என்று இயேசு தன்னுடனே சொன்னமணிநேரம் அதுவே என்று தகப்பன் அறிந்து, அவனும் அவன் வீட்டாரனைவரும் விசுவாசித்தார்கள்.

So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தபின்பு, இது அவர் செய்த இரண்டாம் அற்புதம்.

This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
