லேவியராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 17

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நீ ஆரோனோடும் அவன் குமாரரோடும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அனைவரோடும் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது; கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிடுகிறது என்னவென்றால்:

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,

இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரில் எவனாகிலும் மாட்டையாவது செம்மறியாட்டையாவது வெள்ளாட்டையாவது ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலாகிய கர்த்தருடைய வாசஸ்தலத்துக்கு முன்பாக, கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தும்படி கொண்டுவராமல்,

What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,

பாளயத்துக்குள்ளேயாகிலும் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பேயாகிலும் அதைக் கொன்றால், அது அந்த மனிதனுக்கு இரத்தப்பழியாக எண்ணப்படும் அந்த மனிதன் இரத்தம் சிந்தினபடியால், தன் ஜனத்தில் இராமல் அறுப்புண்டுபோவான்.

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் வெளியிலே பலியிடுகிற தங்கள் பலிகளை, ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலில் ஆசாரியனிடத்தில் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் கொண்டுவந்து, அங்கே அவைகளைக் கர்த்தருக்குச் சமாதானபலிகளாகச் செலுத்தக்கடவர்கள்.

To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.

அங்கே ஆசாரியன் இரத்தத்தை ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலிலிருக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்து, கொழுப்பைக் கர்த்தருக்குச் சுகந்த வாசனையாகத் தகனிக்கக்கடவன்.

And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

தாங்கள் சோரமார்க்கமாய்ப் பின்பற்றுகிற பேய்களுக்குத் தங்கள் பலிகளை இனிச் செலுத்தாதிருப்பார்களாக; இது அவர்கள் தலைமுறைதோறும் அவர்களுக்கு நித்திய கட்டளையாயிருக்கக்கடவது.

And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

மேலும் நீ அவர்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரிலும் உங்கள் நடுவே தங்குகிற அந்நியர்களிலும் எவனாகிலும் சர்வாங்கதகனபலி முதலானவைகளையிட்டு,

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,

அதை ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலிலே கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தும்படி கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், அவன் தன் ஜனத்தில் இராமல் அறுப்புண்டுபோவான் என்று சொல்.

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.

இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரிலும் உங்களுக்குள் தங்கும் அந்நியர்களிலும் எவனாகிலும் இரத்தம் என்னப்பட்டதைப் புசித்தால், இரத்தத்தைப் புசித்த அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நான் என் முகத்தைத் திருப்பி, அவன் தன் ஜனத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு அவனை அறுப்புண்டுபோகப்பண்ணுவேன்.

And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

மாம்சத்தின் உயிர் இரத்தத்தில் இருக்கிறது; நான் அதை உங்களுக்குப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யும்படிக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டேன்; ஆத்துமாவிற்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்கிறது இரத்தமே.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

அதினிமித்தம் உங்களில் ஒருவனும் இரத்தம் புசிக்கவேண்டாம், உங்கள் நடுவே தங்குகிற அந்நியனும் இரத்தம் புசிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொன்னேன்.

Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிலும் உங்களுக்குள் தங்குகிற அந்நியர்களிலும் எவனாகிலும் புசிக்கத்தக்க ஒரு மிருகத்தையாவது ஒரு பட்சியையாவது வேட்டையாடிப் பிடித்தால், அவன் அதின் இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தப்பண்ணி, மண்ணினால் அதை மூடக்கடவன்.

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

சகல மாம்சத்துக்கும் இரத்தம் உயிராயிருக்கிறது; இரத்தம் ஜீவனுக்குச் சமானம்; ஆகையால் எந்த மாம்சத்தின் இரத்தத்தையும் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; சகல மாம்சத்தின் உயிரும் அதின் இரத்தந்தானே; அதைப் புசிக்கிற எவனும் அறுப்புண்டுபோவான் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொன்னேன்.

For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

தானாய் இறந்துபோனதையாவது, பீறுண்டதையாவது, புசித்தவன் எவனும் அவன் சுதேசியானாலும் பரதேசியானாலும், தன் வஸ்திரங்களைச் தோய்த்து, தண்ணீரில் முழுகி, சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டாயிருப்பானாக; பின்பு சுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

அவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்க்காமலும், ஸ்நானம்பண்ணாமலும் இருந்தால், தன் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமப்பான் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.

நீங்கள் குடியிருந்த எகிப்துதேசத்தாருடைய செய்கையின்படி செய்யாமலும், நான் உங்களை அழைத்துப்போகிற கானான் தேசத்தாருடைய செய்கையின்படி செய்யாமலும், அவர்களுடைய முறைமைகளின்படி நடவாமலும்,

After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.

என்னுடைய நியாயங்களின்படி செய்து, என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு நடவுங்கள்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.

ஆகையால் என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவீர்கள்; அவைகளின்படி செய்கிறவன் எவனும் அவைகளால் பிழைப்பான்; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.

ஒருவனும் தனக்கு நெருங்கின இனமாகிய ஒருத்தியை நிர்வாணமாக்கும்படி அவளைச் சேரலாகாது; நான் கர்த்தர்.

None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.

உன் தகப்பனையாவது உன் தாயையாவது நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவள் உன் தாயானவள்; அவளை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது.

The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

உன் தகப்பனுடைய மனைவியை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அது உன் தகப்பனுடைய நிர்வாணம்.

The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.

உன் தகப்பனுக்காவது உன் தாய்க்காவது வீட்டிலாகிலும் புறத்திலாகிலும் பிறந்த குமாரத்தியாகிய உன் சகோதரியை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது.

The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

உன் குமாரனுடைய மகளையாவது உன் குமாரத்தியினுடைய மகளையாவது நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அது உன்னுடைய நிர்வாணம்.

The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.

உன் தகப்பனுடைய மனைவியினிடத்தில் உன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பிறந்த குமாரத்தியை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவள் உனக்குச் சகோதரி.

The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

உன் தகப்பனுடைய சகோதரியை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவள் உன் தகப்பனுக்கு நெருங்கின இனமானவள்.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman.

உன் தாயினுடைய சகோதரியை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவள் உன் தாய்க்கு நெருங்கின இனமானவள்.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman.

உன் தகப்பனுடைய சகோதரனை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவன் மனைவியைச் சேராயாக; அவள் உன் தகப்பனுடைய சகோதரி.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.

உன் மருமகளை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவள் உன் குமாரனுக்கு மனைவி, அவளை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

உன் சகோதரனுடைய மனைவியை நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அது உன் சகோதரனுடைய நிர்வாணம்.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.

ஒரு ஸ்திரீயையும் அவள் மகளையும் நிர்வாணமாக்கலாகாது; அவளுடைய குமாரரின் மகளையும் குமாரத்தியின் மகளையும் நிர்வாணமாக்குபடி விவாகம்பண்ணலாகாது; இவர்கள் அவளுக்கு நெருங்கின இனமானவர்கள்; அது முறைகேடு.

Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.

உன் மனைவி உயிரோடிருக்கையில், அவளுக்கு உபத்திரவமாக அவள் சகோதரியையும் நிர்வாணமாக்கும்பொருட்டு அவளை விவாகம் பண்ணலாகாது.

Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.

ஸ்திரீயானவள் சூதகத்தால் விலக்கத்திலிருக்கையில், அவளை நிர்வாணமாக்க அவளோடே சேராதே.

Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.

பிறனுடைய மனைவியோடே சேரும்படி சயனித்து, அவளால் உன்னைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளவேண்டாம்.

Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.

நீ உன் சந்ததியில் யாரையாகிலும் மோளேகுக்கென்று தீக்கடக்கும்படி இடங்கொடாதே; உன் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்காதே; நான் கர்த்தர்.

And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

பெண்ணோடு சம்யோகம் பண்ணுகிறதுபோல ஆணோடே சம்யோகம் பண்ணவேண்டாம்; அது அருவருப்பானது.

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

யாதொரு மிருகத்தோடும் நீ புணர்ச்சிசெய்து, அதினாலே உன்னைத்தீட்டுப்படுத்த வேண்டாம்; ஸ்திரீயானவள் மிருகத்தோடே புணரும்படி அதற்கு முன்பாக நிற்கலாகாது; அது அருவருப்பான தாறுமாறு.

Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

இவைகளில் ஒன்றினாலும் உங்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாதிருங்கள்; நான் உங்கள் முன்னின்று துரத்திவிடுகிற ஜாதிகள் இவைகளெல்லாவற்றினாலும் தங்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்கள்; தேசமும் தீட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

ஆகையால் அதின் அக்கிரமத்தை விசாரிப்பேன்; தேசம் தன் குடிகளைக் கக்கிப்போடும்.

And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

இந்த அருவருப்புகளையெல்லாம் உங்களுக்குமுன் இருந்த அந்த தேசத்தின் மனிதர் செய்ததினாலே தேசம் தீட்டாயிற்று.

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:

இப்பொழுதும் உங்களுக்கு முன் இருந்த ஜாதிகளை தேசம் கக்கிப்போட்டதுபோல, நீங்கள் அதைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்போது அது உங்களையும் கக்கிப்போடாதபடிக்கு,

For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)

நீங்கள் என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொண்டு, தேசத்திலே பிறந்தவனானாலும் உங்கள் நடுவே தங்குகிற அந்நியனானாலும் இந்த அருவருப்புகளில் ஒன்றையும் செய்யவேண்டாம்.

That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.

இப்படிபட்ட அருவருப்பானவைகளில் யாதொன்றை யாராவது செய்தால், செய்த அந்த ஆத்துமாக்கள் ஜனத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு அறுப்புண்டு போவார்கள்.

For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

ஆகையால் உங்களுக்குமுன் செய்யப்பட்ட அருவருப்பான முறைமைகளில் யாதொன்றை நீங்கள் செய்து, அவைகளால் உங்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளாதபடிக்கு என் கட்டளையைக் கைக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.

லேவியராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 19

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சபை அனைத்தோடும் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: உங்கள் தேவனும் கர்த்தருமாகிய நான் பரிசுத்தர், ஆகையால் நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருங்கள்.

Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

உங்களில் அவனவன் தன்தன் தாய்க்கும் தன்தன் தகப்பனுக்கும் பயந்திருக்கவும், என் ஓய்வு நாட்களை ஆசரிக்கவும்கடவீர்கள்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

விக்கிரகங்களை நாடாமலும், வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட தெய்வங்களை உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

நீங்கள் சமாதானபலியைக் கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தினால், அதை மனோற்சாகமாய்ச் செலுத்துங்கள்.

And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.

நீங்கள் அதைச் செலுத்துகிற நாளிலும் மறுநாளிலும் அதைப் புசிக்கவேண்டும்; மூன்றாம் நாள்மட்டும் மீதியானது அக்கினியிலே சுட்டெரிக்கப்படக்கடவது.

It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.

மூன்றாம் நாளில் அதில் ஏதாகிலும் புசிக்கப்பட்டால் அருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்; அது அங்கிகரிக்கப்படமாட்டாது.

And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.

அதைப் புசிக்கிறவன் கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமானதைப் பரிசுத்தக்குலைச்சலாக்கினபடியால் அவன் தன் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமந்து, தன் ஜனத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு அறுப்புண்டுபோவான்.

Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

நீங்கள் தேசத்தின் பயிரை அறுக்கும்போது, உன் வயலின் ஓரத்திலிருக்கிறதைத் தீர அறுக்காமலும், சிந்திக்கிடக்கிற கதிர்களைப் பொறுக்காமலும்,

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.

உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலே பின் அறுப்பை அறுக்காமலும், அதிலே சிந்திக்கிடக்கிற பழங்களைப் பொறுக்காமலும், அவைகளை எளியவனுக்கும் பரதேசிக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

நீங்கள் களவுசெய்யாமலும், வஞ்சனைபண்ணாமலும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பொய் சொல்லாமலும் இருங்கள்.

Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

என் நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு பொய்யாணையிடுகிறதினால், உங்கள் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைப் பரிசுத்தக்குலைச்சலாக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

பிறனை ஒடுக்காமலும் கொள்ளையிடாமலும் இருப்பாயாக; கூலிக்காரனுடைய கூலி விடியற்காலம்மட்டும் உன்னிடத்தில் இருக்கலாகாது.

Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

செவிடனை நிந்தியாமலும், குருடனுக்கு முன்னே தடுக்கலை வையாமலும், உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்திருப்பாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

நியாயவிசாரணையில் அநியாயம் செய்யாதிருங்கள்; சிறியவனுக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம் செய்யாமலும், பெரியவனுடைய முகத்துக்கு அஞ்சாமலும், நீதியாகப் பிறனுக்கு நியாயந்தீர்ப்பாயாக.

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

உன் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அங்குமிங்கும் கோள்சொல்லித் திரியாயாக; பிறனுடைய இரத்தப்பழிக்கு உட்படவேண்டாம்; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.

உன் சகோதரனை உன் உள்ளத்தில் பகையாயாக; பிறன்மேல் பாவம் சுமராதபடிக்கு அவனை எப்படியும் கடிந்து கொள்ளவேண்டும்.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

பழிக்குப்பழி வாங்காமலும் உன் ஜனப்புத்திரர் மேல் பொறாமைகொள்ளாமலும், உன்னில் நீ அன்புகூறுவதுபோல் பிறனிலும் அன்புகூருவாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

என் கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்வீர்களாக; உன் மிருகஜீவன்களை வேறு ஜாதியோடே பொலியவிடாயாக; உன் வயலிலே வெவ்வேறு வகையான விதைகளைக் கலந்து விதையாயாக; சணல்நூலும் கம்பளிநூலும் கலந்த வஸ்திரத்தை உடுத்தாதிருப்பாயாக.

Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

ஒருவனுக்கு அடிமையானவள் ஒரு புருஷனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டவளாயிருந்து, முற்றிலும் மீட்கப்படாமலும் தன்னிச்சையாய் விடப்படாமலுமிருக்க, அவளோடே ஒருவன் சம்யோகமாய்ச் சயனம்பண்ணினால், அவர்கள் கொலை செய்யப்படாமல், அடிக்கப்படவேண்டும்; அவள் சுயாதீனமுள்ளவள் அல்ல.

And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

அவன் தன் குற்றநிவாரணபலியாய் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவைக் கொண்டுவரக்கடவன்.

And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.

அதினாலே ஆசாரியன் அவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனுக்காகக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யக்கடவன்; அப்பொழுது அவன் செய்த பாவம் அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்.

And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

நீங்கள் அந்த தேசத்தில் வந்து, புசிக்கத்தக்க கனிகளைத் தருகிற பலவித மரங்களை நாட்டினபின்பு அவைகளின் கனிகளை விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவைகளென்று எண்ணுவீர்களாக; மூன்று வருஷம் அது புசிக்கப்படாமல், விருத்தசேதனமில்லாததாய் உங்களுக்கு எண்ணப்படவேண்டும்.

And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.

பின்பு நாலாம் வருஷத்திலே அவைகளின் கனிகளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருக்குத் துதிசெலுத்துகிறதற்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.

ஐந்தாம் வருஷத்திலே அவைகளின் கனிகளைப் புசிக்கலாம்; இப்படி அவைகளின் பலன் உங்களுக்குப் பெருகும்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.

யாதொன்றையும் இரத்தத்துடன் புசிக்கவேண்டாம். குறிகேளாமலும், நாள்பாராமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

உங்கள் தலைமயிரைச் சுற்றி ஒதுக்காமலும், தாடியின் ஓரங்களைக் கத்தரிக்காமலும்,

Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

செத்தவனுக்காக உங்கள் சரீரத்தைக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், அடையாளமான எழுத்துக்களை உங்கள்மேல் குத்திக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

தேசத்தார் வேசித்தனம்பண்ணி தேசமெங்கும் முறைகேடான பாவம் நிறையாதபடிக்கு உன் குமாரத்தியை வேசித்தனம்பண்ண விடுகிறதினாலே பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்காயாக.

Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

என் ஓய்வுநாட்களை ஆசரித்து, என் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தைக்குறித்துப் பயபக்தியாயிருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

அஞ்சனம் பார்க்கிறவர்களை நாடி, குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களைத் தேடாதிருங்கள்; அவர்களாலே தீட்டுப்படவேண்டாம்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

நரைத்தவனுக்கு முன்பாக எழுந்து, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவன் முகத்தைக் கனம்பண்ணி, உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுவாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.

யாதொரு அந்நியன் உங்கள் தேசத்தில் உங்களோடே தங்கினால், அவனைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தவேண்டாம்.

And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

உங்களிடத்தில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற அந்நியனைச் சுதேசிபோல எண்ணி, நீங்கள் உங்களில் அன்புகூருகிறதுபோல அவனிலும் அன்புகூருவீர்களாக; நீங்களும் எகிப்துதேசத்தில் அந்நியராயிருந்தீர்களே; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

நியாயவிசாரணையிலும், அளவிலும், நிறையிலும், படியிலும் அநியாயம் செய்யாதிருப்பீர்களாக.

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

சுமுத்திரையான தராசும், சுமுத்திரையான நிறைகல்லும், சுமுத்திரையான மரக்காலும், சுமுத்திரையான படியும் உங்களுக்கு இருக்கவேண்டும்; நான் உங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.

ஆகையால் என்னுடைய கட்டளைகள் யாவையும் என்னுடைய நியாயங்கள் யாவையும் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி நடக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; நான் கர்த்தர் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 11

அவர் ஒரு இடத்தில் ஜெபம்பண்ணி முடித்தபின்பு, அவருடைய சீஷரில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, யோவான் தன் சீஷருக்கு ஜெபம்பண்ணப் போதித்ததுபோல, நீரும் எங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்போது: பரமண்டலங்களிலிருக்கிற எங்கள் பிதாவே, உம்முடைய நாமம் பரிசுத்தப்படுவதாக; உம்முடைய ராஜ்யம் வருவதாக; உம்முடைய சித்தம் பரமண்டலத்திலே செய்யப்படுகிறதுபோல பூமியிலேயும் செய்யப்படுவதாக;

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

எங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய ஆகாரத்தை அன்றன்றும் எங்களுக்குத் தாரும்;

Give us day by day our daily bread.

எங்கள் பாவங்களை எங்களுக்கு மன்னியும்; நாங்களும் எங்களிடத்தில் கடன்பட்ட எவனுக்கும் மன்னிக்கிறோமே; எங்களைச் சோதனைக்குட்படப்பண்ணாமல், தீமையினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்துக் கொள்ளும், என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களில் ஒருவன் தனக்குச் சிநேகிதனாயிருக்கிறவனிடத்தில் பாதிராத்திரியிலே போய்: சிநேகிதனே,

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

என் சிநேகிதன் ஒருவன் வழிப்பிரயாணமாய் என்னிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறான், அவன்முன் வைக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் ஒன்றுமில்லை, நீ மூன்று அப்பங்களை எனக்குக் கடனாகத் தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.

For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

வீட்டுக்குள் இருக்கிறவன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னைத் தொந்தரவு செய்யாதே, கதவு பூட்டியாயிற்று, என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னோடேகூடப் படுத்திருக்கிறார்கள், நான் எழுந்திருந்து, உனக்குத் தரக்கூடாது என்று சொன்னான்.

And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

மேலும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: கேளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது கண்டடைவீர்கள்; தட்டுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

ஏனென்றால், கேட்கிறவன் எவனும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; தேடுகிறவன் கண்டடைகிறான்; தட்டுகிறவனுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

உங்களில் தகப்பனாயிருக்கிற ஒருவனிடத்தில் மகன் அப்பங்கேட்டால், அவனுக்குக் கல்லைக் கொடுப்பானா? மீனைக்கேட்டால் மீனுக்குப் பதிலாய்ப் பாம்பைக் கொடுப்பானா?

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

அல்லது முட்டையைக் கேட்டால், அவனுக்குத் தேளைக் கொடுப்பானா?

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

பொல்லாதவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நல்ல ஈவுகளைக் கொடுக்க அறிந்திருக்கும்போது, பரமபிதாவானவர் தம்மிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியைக் கொடுப்பது அதிக நிச்சயம் அல்லவா என்றார்.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

பின்பு அவர் ஊமையாயிருந்த ஒரு பிசாசைத் துரத்தினார். பிசாசு புறப்பட்டுப்போனபின்பு ஊமையன் பேசினான்; ஜனங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

அவர்களில் சிலர்: இவன் பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாகிய பெயெல்செபூலைக் கொண்டு பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறான் என்றார்கள்.

But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

வேறு சிலர் அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காட்டவேண்டுமென்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டார்கள்.

And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகளை அவர் அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த ராஜ்யமும் பாழாய்ப்போகும்; தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த வீடும் விழுந்துபோகும்.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

சாத்தானும் தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருந்தால் அவன் ராஜ்யம் எப்படி நிலைநிற்கும்? இப்படியிருக்க, பெயெல்செபூலைக்கொண்டு நான் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறேன் என்கிறீர்களே.

If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

நான் பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தினால், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அவைகளை யாராலே துரத்துகிறார்கள்? ஆகையால், அவர்களே உங்களை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர்களாயிருப்பார்கள்.

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

நான் தேவனுடைய விரலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறபடியால், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் உங்களிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறதே.

But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

ஆயுதந்தரித்த பலவான் தன் அரமனையைக்காக்கிறபோது, அவனுடைய பொருள் பத்திரப்பட்டிருக்கும்.

When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

அவனிலும் அதிக பலவான் வந்து, அவனை மேற்கொள்வானேயாகில், அவன் நம்பியிருந்த சகல ஆயுதவர்க்கத்தையும் பறித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனுடைய கொள்ளைப்பொருளைப் பங்கிடுவான்.

But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

என்னோடே இராதவன் எனக்கு விரோதியாயிருக்கிறான், என்னோடே சேர்க்காதவன் சிதறடிக்கிறான்.

He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

அசுத்த ஆவி ஒரு மனுஷனை விட்டுப்புறப்படும்போது, வறண்ட இடங்களில் அலைந்து, இளைப்பாறுதல் தேடியும் கண்டடையாமல்: நான் விட்டுவந்த என் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போவேன் என்று சொல்லி,

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

அதில் வரும்போது, அது பெருக்கி ஜோடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கக் கண்டு,

And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

திரும்பிப்போய், தன்னிலும் பொல்லாத வேறு ஏழு ஆவிகளைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, உட்புகுந்து, அங்கே குடியிருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது அந்த மனுஷனுடைய முன்னிலைமையிலும் அவன் பின்னிலைமை அதிக கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

அவர் இவைகளைச் சொல்லுகையில், ஜனக்கூட்டத்திலிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: உம்மைச் சுமந்த கர்ப்பமும் நீர் பாலுண்ட முலைகளும் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகளென்று சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னாள்.

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

அதற்கு அவர்: அப்படியானாலும், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு, அதைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களே அதிக பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றார்.

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

ஜனங்கள் திரளாய்க் கூடிவந்திருக்கிறபொழுது அவர்: இந்தச் சந்ததியார் பொல்லாதவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள், அடையாளத்தைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யோனா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் அடையாளமேயன்றி வேறே அடையாளம் இவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

யோனா நினிவே பட்டணத்தாருக்கு அடையாளமாயிருந்ததுபோல, மனுஷகுமாரனும் இந்தச் சந்ததிக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பார்.

For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

தென்தேசத்து ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து வந்தாள்; இதோ, சாலொமோனிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளிலே அந்த ராஜஸ்திரீ இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவாள்.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

யோனாவின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் மனந்திரும்பினார்கள்; இதோ, யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவார்கள்.

The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

ஒருவனும் விளக்கைக் கொளுத்தி, மறைவிடத்திலாவது, மரக்காலின் கீழேயாவது வைக்காமல், உள்ளே வருகிறவர்கள் வெளிச்சம்காணும்படி, அதை விளக்குத்தண்டின்மேல் வைப்பான்.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

கண்ணானது சரீரத்தின் விளக்காயிருக்கிறது; உன் கண் தெளிவாயிருந்தால், உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும்; உன் கண் கெட்டதாயிருந்தால் உன் சரீரம் முழுவதும் இருளாயிருக்கும்.

The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

ஆகையால் உன்னிலுள்ள வெளிச்சம் இருளாகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

உன் சரீரம் ஒருபுறத்திலும் இருளடைந்திராமல் முழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருந்தால், ஒரு விளக்கு தன் பிரகாசத்தினாலே உனக்கு வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கிறதுபோல உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், பரிசேயன் ஒருவன் தன்னுடனேகூட அவர் பகற்போஜனம்பண்ணவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; அவர் போய்ப் பந்தியிருந்தார்.

And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.

அவர் போஜனம்பண்ணுகிறதற்கு முன் கைகழுவாமலிருந்ததைப் பரிசேயன் கண்டு, ஆச்சரியப்பட்டான்.

And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: பரிசேயராகிய நீங்கள் போஜனபானபாத்திரங்களின் வெளிப்புறத்தைச் சுத்தமாக்குகிறீர்கள், உங்கள் உள்ளமோ கொள்ளையினாலும் பொல்லாப்பினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

மதிகேடரே, வெளிப்புறத்தை உண்டாக்கினவர் உட்புறத்தையும் உண்டாக்கவில்லையோ?

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

உங்களுக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் பிச்சை கொடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது சகலமும் உங்களுக்குச் சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் ஒற்தலாம் மருக்கொழுந்து முதலிய சகலவித பூண்டுகளிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்து, நியாயத்தையும் தேவ அன்பையும் விட்டுவிடுகிறீர்கள்; இவைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டும், அவைகளையும் விடாதிருக்கவேண்டுமே.

But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் முதன்மையான ஆசனங்களையும், சந்தைகளில் வந்தனங்களையும் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்.

Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

மாயக்காரராகிய வேதபாரகரே, பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, மறைந்திருக்கிற பிரேதக்குழிகளைப்போலிருக்கிறீர்கள், அவைகள்மேல் நடக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு அவைகள் தெரியாதிருக்கிறது என்றார்.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

அப்பொழுது நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, நீர் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறதினால் எங்களையும் நிந்திக்கிறீரே என்றான்.

Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

அதற்கு அவர்: நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, சுமக்க அரிதான சுமைகளை மனுஷர்மேல் சுமத்துகிறீர்கள்; நீங்களோ உங்கள் விரல்களில் ஒன்றினாலும் அந்தச் சுமைகளைத் தொடவும்மாட்டீர்கள்.

And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள்.

Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

ஆகையால் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய கிரியைகளுக்கு நீங்களும் உடன்பட்டவர்களென்று சாட்சியிடுகிறீர்கள்; எப்படியென்றால், உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்தார்கள், நீங்களோ அவர்களுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள்.

Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

ஆதலால் தேவஞானமானது: நான் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் அப்போஸ்தலர்களையும் அவர்களிடத்தில் அனுப்புவேன்; அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொலைசெய்து, சிலரைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவார்கள்;

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

ஆபேலின் இரத்தம்முதல் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் தேவாலயத்துக்கும் நடுவே கொலையுண்ட சகரியாவின் இரத்தம்வரைக்கும், உலகத்தோற்றமுதற்கொண்டு சிந்தப்பட்ட சகல தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய இரத்தப்பழியும் இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படத்தக்கதாக அப்படிச் செய்வார்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறது.

That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

நிச்சயமாகவே இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் அது கேட்கப்படும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, அறிவாகிய திறவுகோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டீர்கள், நீங்களும் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறதில்லை, உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்களையும் தடைபண்ணுகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

இவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு அவர் சொல்லுகையில், வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாட்டும்பொருட்டு, அவர் வாய்மொழியில் ஏதாகிலும் பிழை கண்டுபிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உபாயம்பண்ணி அவரை மிகவும் நெருக்கவும்,

And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

அநேக காரியங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசும்படி அவரை ஏவவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
