யாத்திராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 39

கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, அவர்கள் இளநீலநூலாலும் இரத்தாம்பரநூலாலும் சிவப்புநூலாலும் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் ஆராதனை செய்கிறதற்கு வேண்டிய வஸ்திரங்களையும், ஆரோனுக்குப் பரிசுத்த வஸ்திரங்களையும் செய்தார்கள்.

And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.

ஏபோத்தைப் பொன்னினாலும் இளநீலநூலாலும் இரத்தாம்பரநூலாலும் சிவப்புநூலாலும் திரித்த மெல்லிய பஞ்சுநூலாலும் செய்தான்.

And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

அந்தப் பொன்னை, இளநீலநூலோடும் இரத்தாம்பரநூலோடும் சிவப்புநூலோடும் மெல்லிய பஞ்சுநூலோடும் சேர்த்து விசித்திரவேலையாய் நெய்யும்படிக்கு, மெல்லிய தகடுகளாய் அடித்து, அவைகளைச் சரிகைகளாகப் பண்ணினார்கள்.

And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.

இரண்டு தோள்களின்மேலுள்ள அதின் இரண்டு முனைகளையும் சேர்த்தார்கள்; அது ஒன்றாய் இணைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.

And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் நாமங்களை முத்திரை வெட்டுவேலையாகக் கோமேதகக் கற்களில் வெட்டி, அவைகளைப் பொன் குவளைகளில் பதித்தார்கள்.

And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.

கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, அவைகள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக்குறித்து ஞாபகக்குறிக் கற்களாயிருக்கும்படி ஏபோத்துத் தோள்களின்மேல் அவைகளை வைத்தான்.

And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.

மார்ப்பதக்கத்தை ஏபோத்தின் வேலைக்கு ஒத்த விசித்திரவேலையாகப் பொன்னினாலும் இளநீலநூலாலும் இரத்தாம்பரநூலாலும் சிவப்புநூலாலும் திரித்த மெல்லிய பஞ்சுநூலாலும் செய்தான்.

And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

அந்த மார்ப்பதக்கத்தைச் சதுரமும் இரட்டையுமாய்ச் செய்து, ஒரு ஜாண் நீளமும். ஒரு ஜாண் அகலமுமாக்கி,

It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.

அதிலே நாலு பத்தி ரத்தினக்கற்களைப் பதித்தார்கள்; முதலாம் பத்தி பத்மராகமும் புஷ்பராகமும் மாணிக்கமும்,

And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.

இரண்டாம் பத்தி மரகதமும் இந்திரநீலமும் வச்சிரமும்,

And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.

மூன்றாம் பத்தி கெம்பும் வைடூரியமும் சுகந்தியும்,

And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.

நாலாம் பத்தி படிகப்பச்சையும் கோமேதகமும் யஸ்பியுமானது. அவைகள் அந்தந்த இடங்களிலே பொன்குவளைகளில் பதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.

இந்தக் கற்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய நாமங்களின்படியே பன்னிரண்டும், அவர்களுடைய நாமங்களுள்ளவைகளுமாயிருந்தது; பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரங்களில் ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்தின் நாமம் ஒவ்வொன்றில் முத்திரைவெட்டாய் வெட்டியிருந்தது.

And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.

And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.

இரண்டு பொன் குவளைகளையும் இரண்டு பொன் வளையங்களையும் செய்து, அந்த இரண்டு வளையங்களை மார்ப்பதக்கத்தின் இரண்டு பக்கத்திலும் வைத்து,

And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.

பொன்னினால் செய்த பின்னல் வேலையான அந்த இரண்டு சங்கிலிகளையும் மார்ப்பதக்கத்தின் பக்கங்களில் இருக்கிற இரண்டு வளையங்களிலும் மாட்டி,

And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.

பின்னல் வேலையான அவ்விரண்டு சங்கிலிகளின் இரண்டு நுனிகளையும் ஏபோத்தின் தோள்புறத்துத் துண்டுகள்மேல் முன்புறத்தில் இருக்கிற இரண்டு குவளைகளிலும் மாட்டினார்கள்.

And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.

பின்னும் இரண்டு வளையங்களைப்பண்ணி, அவைகளை ஏபோத்தின் கீழ்ப்புறத்திற்கு எதிரான மார்ப்பதக்கத்தின் மற்ற இரண்டு பக்கங்களிலும் அதின் ஓரத்தில் வைத்து,

And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.

வேறே இரண்டு பொன்வளையங்களையும் பண்ணி, அவைகளை ஏபோத்தின் முன்புறத்தின் இரண்டு கீழ்ப்பக்கங்களில் அதின் இணைப்புக்கு எதிராகவும், ஏபோத்தின் விசித்திரமான கச்சைக்கு மேலாகவும் வைத்து,

And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.

மார்ப்பதக்கம் ஏபோத்தின் விசித்திரமான கச்சைக்கு மேலாக இருக்கும்படிக்கும், ஏபோத்திலிருந்து நீங்கிப்போகாதபடிக்கும், அதை அதின் வளையங்களால் ஏபோத்தின் வளையங்களோடே இளநீல நாடாவினாலே, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தப்படியே, கட்டினார்கள்.

And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.

ஏபோத்தின் கீழ் அங்கியை முழுவதும் இளநீலநூலால் நெய்தான்.

And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.

And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.

And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.

பசும்பொன்னினால் மணிகளையும் பண்ணி, அந்த மணிகளை அங்கியின் ஓரங்களில் சுற்றிலும் மாதளம்பழங்களின் இடைஇடையே தொங்கவைத்தார்கள்.

And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;

கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே ஆராதனைக்குரிய அங்கியின் ஓரத்தைச் சுற்றிலும், ஒரு மணியும் ஒரு மாதளம்பழமும், ஒரு மணியும் ஒரு மாதளம்பழமுமாய் இருந்தது.

A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.

ஆரோனுக்கும் அவன் குமாரருக்கும் மெல்லிய பஞ்சுநூலால் நெசவுவேலையான அங்கிகளையும்,

And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,

மெல்லிய பஞ்சுநூலால் பாகையையும், அலங்காரமான குல்லாக்களையும், திரித்த மெல்லிய சணல்நூலால் சல்லடங்களையும்,

And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,

திரித்த மெல்லிய பஞ்சுநூலாலும் இளநீலநூலாலும் இரத்தாம்பரநூலாலும் சிவப்புநூலாலும் சித்திரத் தையல்வேலையான இடைக்கச்சையையும், கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே செய்தார்கள்.

And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.

பரிசுத்த கிரீடத்தின் பட்டத்தையும் பசும்பொன்னினாலே பண்ணி, கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தம் என்னும் எழுத்துக்களை அதிலே முத்திரை வெட்டாகவெட்டி,

And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

அதை உயரப் பாகையின்மேல் கட்டும்படி, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, இளநீல நாடாவினால் கட்டினார்கள்.

And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.

இப்படியே ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரமாகிய வாசஸ்தலத்தின் வேலையெல்லாம் முடிந்தது; கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் செய்தார்கள்.

Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

பின்பு. வாசஸ்தலத்தை மோசேயினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; கூடாரத்தையும், அதற்குரிய எல்லாப் பணிமுட்டுகளையும், அதின் துறடுகளையும், அதின் பலகைகளையும், அதின் தாழ்ப்பாள்களையும், அதின் தூண்களையும், அதின் பாதங்களையும்,

And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,

சிவப்புத்தீர்ந்த ஆட்டுக்கடாத்தோல் மூடியையும், தகசுத்தோல் மூடியையும், மறைவின் திரைச்சீலையையும்,

And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering,

சாட்சிப்பெட்டியையும், அதின் தண்டுகளையும், கிருபாசனத்தையும்,

The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,

மேஜையையும், அதின் எல்லாப் பணிமுட்டுகளையும், சமுகத்தப்பங்களையும்,

The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,

சுத்தமான குத்துவிளக்கையும், வரிசையாய் ஒழுங்குப்படுத்தப்பட்ட அதின் அகல்களையும், அதின் எல்லாப் பணிமுட்டுகளையும், வெளிச்சத்திற்கு எண்ணெயையும்,

The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,

பொற்பீடத்தையும், அபிஷேகதைலத்தையும், சுகந்த தூபவர்க்கத்தையும், வாசஸ்தலத்தின் வாசல் தொங்குதிரையையும்,

And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,

வெண்கலப் பலிபீடத்தையும், அதின் வெண்கலச் சல்லடையையும், அதின் தண்டுகளையும், அதின் சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், தொட்டியையும், அதின் பாதத்தையும்,

The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,

பிராகாரத்தின் தொங்குதிரைகளையும், அதின் தூண்களையும், அதின் பாதங்களையும், பிராகாரத்து வாசல் மறைவையும், அதின் கயிறுகளையும், அதின் முளைகளையும், ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரமான வாசஸ்தலத்தின் வேலைக்கடுத்த சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும்,

The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,

பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே செய்யும் ஆராதனைக்கடுத்த வஸ்திரங்களையும், ஆசாரிய ஊழியஞ்செய்கிற ஆரோனின் பரிசுத்த வஸ்திரங்களையும், அவன் குமாரரின் வஸ்திரங்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.

கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சகல வேலைகளையும் செய்தார்கள்.

According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.

மோசே அந்த வேலைகளையெல்லாம் பார்த்தான்; கர்த்தர் கற்பித்தபடியே அதைச் செய்திருந்தார்கள். மோசே அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

யாத்திராகமம் அத்தியாயம் 40

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நீ முதலாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியில் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வாசஸ்தலத்தை ஸ்தாபனம்பண்ணு.

On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

அதிலே சாட்சிப்பெட்டியை வைத்து, பெட்டியைத் திரையினால் மறைத்து,

And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.

மேஜையைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அதில் வைக்கவேண்டியதைக் கிரமமாய் வைத்து, குத்துவிளக்கைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அதின் விளக்குகளை ஏற்றி,

And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.

பொன் தூபபீடத்தைச் சாட்சிப்பெட்டிக்கு முன்னே வைத்து, வாசஸ்தலத்து வாசலின் தொங்குதிரையைத் தூக்கிவைக்கக்கடவாய்.

And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.

பின்பு, தகன பலிபீடத்தை ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரமாகிய வாசஸ்தலத்தின் வாசலுக்கு முன்பாக வைத்து,

And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

தொட்டியை ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்கும் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் நடுவே வைத்து, அதிலே தண்ணீர் வார்த்து,

And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein.

சுற்றுப் பிராகாரத்தை நிறுத்தி, பிராகாரவாசல் தொங்குதிரையைத் தூக்கிவைத்து,

And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.

அபிஷேக தைலத்தை எடுத்து, வாசஸ்தலத்தையும் அதிலுள்ள யாவையும் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, அதையும் அதிலுள்ள சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்துவாயாக; அப்பொழுது பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.

தகனபலிபீடத்தையும், அதின் சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, அதைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்துவாயாக; அப்பொழுது அது மகா பரிசுத்தமான பலிபீடமாயிருக்கும்.

And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.

தொட்டியையும் அதின் பாதத்தையும் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, பரிசுத்தப்படுத்துவாயாக.

And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.

பின்பு ஆரோனையும் அவன் குமாரரையும் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலில் வரச்செய்து, அவர்களை ஜலத்தினால் ஸ்நானம்பண்ணுவித்து,

And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.

ஆரோனுக்குப் பரிசுத்த வஸ்திரங்களை உடுத்தி, எனக்கு ஆசாரிய ஊழியம் செய்யும்படிக்கு அவனை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, அவனைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்துவாயாக.

And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

அவன் குமாரரையும் வரச்செய்து, அவர்களுக்கு அங்கிளை உடுத்தி,

And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:

அவர்கள் எனக்கு ஆசாரிய ஊழியம் செய்யும்படி, அவர்களையும், அவர்கள் தகப்பனை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினபடியே, அபிஷேகம்பண்ணுவாயாக; அவர்கள் பெறும் அந்த அபிஷேகம் தலைமுறைதோறும் நித்திய ஆசாரியத்துவத்துக்கு ஏதுவாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.

கர்த்தர் தனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் மோசே செய்தான்.

Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.

இரண்டாம் வருஷம் முதலாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியில் வாசஸ்தலம் ஸ்தாபனம்பண்ணப்பட்டது.

And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.

மோசே கூடாரத்தை எடுப்பித்தான்; அவன் அதின் பாதங்களை வைத்து, அதின் பலகைகளை நிறுத்தி, அதின் தாழ்ப்பாள்களைப் பாய்ச்சி, அதின் தூண்களை நாட்டி,

And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.

வாசஸ்தலத்தின்மேல் கூடாரத்தை விரித்து, அதின்மேல் கூடாரத்தின் மூடியை, கர்த்தர் தனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே போட்டான்.

And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses.

பின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, சாட்சிப்பிரமாணத்தை எடுத்து, அதைப் பெட்டியிலே வைத்து, பெட்டியில் தண்டுகளைப்பாய்ச்சி, பெட்டியின்மேல் கிருபாசன மூடியை வைத்து,

And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:

பெட்டியை வாசஸ்தலத்துக்குள்ளே கொண்டுபோய், மறைவின் திரைச்சீலையைத் தொங்கவைத்து, சாட்சிப்பெட்டியை மறைத்துவைத்தான்.

And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.

பின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, மேஜையை ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரத்தில் வாசஸ்தலத்தின் வடபுறமாய்த் திரைக்குப் புறம்பாக வைத்து,

And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.

அதின்மேல் கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் அப்பத்தை வரிசையாக அடுக்கிவைத்தான்.

And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.

பின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, குத்துவிளக்கை ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரத்தில் மேஜைக்கு எதிராக வாசஸ்தலத்தின் தென்புறத்திலே வைத்து,

And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.

கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் விளக்குகளை ஏற்றினான்.

And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

பின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தில் திரைக்கு முன்பாகப் பொற்பீடத்தை வைத்து,

And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail:

அதின்மேல் சுகந்தவர்க்கத்தினால் தூபங்காட்டினான்.

And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses.

பின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, வாசஸ்தலத்தின் தொங்குதிரையைத் தூக்கிவைத்து,

And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.

தகனபலிபீடத்தை ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரமான வாசஸ்தலத்தின் வாசலுக்கு முன்பாக வைத்து, அதின்மேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியையும் போஜனபலியையும் செலுத்தினான்.

And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.

அவன் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்கும் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் நடுவே தொட்டியை வைத்து, கழுவுகிறதற்கு அதிலே தண்ணீர் வார்த்தான்.

And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal.

அவ்விடத்திலே மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் அவன் குமாரரும் தங்கள் கைகளையும் கால்களையும் கழுவினார்கள்.

And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:

கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, அவர்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குள்ளே பிரவேசிக்கிறபோதும், பலிபீடத்தண்டையில் சேருகிறபோதும், அவர்கள் கழுவிக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.

When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses.

பின்பு, அவன் வாசஸ்தலத்தையும் பலிபீடத்தையும் சுற்றிப் பிராகாரத்தை நிறுத்தி, பிராகாரத்தின் தொங்குதிரையைத் தொங்கவைத்தான்; இவ்விதமாய் மோசே வேலையை முடித்தான்.

And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

அப்பொழுது ஒரு மேகம் ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரத்தை மூடினது; கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை வாசஸ்தலத்தை நிரப்பிற்று.

Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

மேகம் அதின்மேல் தங்கி, கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை வாசஸ்தலத்தை நிரப்பினதினால், மோசே ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கக்கூடாமல் இருந்தது.

And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

வாசஸ்தலத்திலிருந்து மேகம் மேலே எழும்பும்போது, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பிரயாணம்பண்ணப் புறப்படுவார்கள்.

And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

மேகம் எழும்பாதிருந்தால், அது எழும்பும் நாள்வரைக்கும் பிரயாணம்பண்ணாதிருப்பார்கள்.

But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் பண்ணும் எல்லாப் பிரயாணங்களிலும் அவர்களெல்லாருடைய கண்களுக்கும் பிரத்தியட்சமாகப் பகலில் கர்த்தருடைய மேகமும், இரவில் அக்கினியும், வாசஸ்தலத்தின் மேல் தங்கியிருந்தது.

For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 1

மகா கனம்பொருந்திய தேயோப்பிலுவே, நாங்கள் முழுநிச்சயமாய் நம்புகிற சங்கதிகளை,

Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

ஆரம்பமுதல் கண்ணாரக்கண்டு வசனத்தைப் போதித்தவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவித்தபடியே அவைகளைக் குறித்துச் சரித்திரம் எழுத அநேகம்பேர் ஏற்பட்டபடியினால்,

Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

ஆதிமுதல் எல்லாவற்றையும் திட்டமாய் விசாரித்தறிந்த நானும் உமக்கு உபதேசிக்கப்பட்ட விசேஷங்களின் நிச்சயத்தை நீர் அறியவேண்டுமென்று,

It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

அவைகளை ஒழுங்காய் உமக்கு எழுதுவது எனக்கு நலமாய்த் தோன்றிற்று.

That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

யூதேயாதேசத்தின் ராஜாவாகிய ஏரோதின் நாட்களில், அபியா என்னும் ஆசாரிய வகுப்பில் சகரியா என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஆசாரியன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவன் மனைவி ஆரோனுடைய குமாரத்திகளில் ஒருத்தி, அவள் பேர் எலிசபெத்து.

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

அவர்கள் இருவரும் கர்த்தரிட்ட சகல கற்பனைகளின்படியேயும் நியமங்களின்படியேயும் குற்றமற்றவர்களாய் நடந்து, தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதியுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

எலிசபெத்து மலடியாயிருந்தபடியினால், அவர்களுக்குப் பிள்ளையில்லாதிருந்தது; இருவரும் வயது சென்றவர்களாயும் இருந்தார்கள்.

And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

அப்படியிருக்க, அவன் தன் ஆசாரியவகுப்பின் முறைப்படி தேவசந்நிதியிலே ஆசாரிய ஊழியம் செய்துவருகிற காலத்தில்,

And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

ஆசாரிய ஊழிய முறைமையின்படி அவன் தேவாலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசித்துத் தூபங்காட்டுகிறதற்குச் சீட்டைப் பெற்றான்.

According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

தூபங்காட்டுகிற வேளையிலே ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் கூட்டமாய் வெளியே ஜெபம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் ஒருவன் தூபபீடத்தின் வலதுபக்கத்திலே நின்று அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமானான்.

And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

சகரியா அவனைக்கண்டு கலங்கி, பயமடைந்தான்.

And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

தூதன் அவனை நோக்கி: சகரியாவே, பயப்படாதே, உன் வேண்டுதல் கேட்கப்பட்டது; உன் மனைவியாகிய எலிசபெத்து உனக்கு ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாள், அவனுக்கு யோவான் என்று பேரிடுவாயாக.

But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

உனக்குச் சந்தோஷமும் மகிழ்ச்சியும் உண்டாகும், அவன் பிறப்பினிமித்தம் அநேகர் சந்தோஷப்படுவார்கள்.

And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

அவன் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பெரியவனாயிருப்பான், திராட்சரசமும் மதுவும் குடியான், தன் தாயின் வயிற்றிலிருக்கும்போதே பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் சந்ததியாரில் அநேகரை அவர்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்திற்குத் திருப்புவான்.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

பிதாக்களுடைய இருதயங்களைப் பிள்ளைகளிடத்திற்கும், கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களை நீதிமான்களுடைய ஞானத்திற்கும் திருப்பி, உத்தமமான ஜனத்தைக் கர்த்தருக்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்தும்படியாக, அவன் எலியாவின் ஆவியும் பலமும் உடையவனாய் அவருக்கு முன்னே நடப்பான் என்றான்.

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

அப்பொழுது சகரியா தேவதூதனை நோக்கி: இதை நான் எதினால் அறிவேன்; நான் கிழவனாயிருக்கிறேன், என் மனைவியும் வயதுசென்றவளாயிருக்கிறாளே என்றான்.

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

தேவதூதன் அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் தேவசந்நிதானத்தில் நிற்கிற காபிரியேல் என்பவன்; உன்னுடனே பேசவும், உனக்கு இந்த நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்கவும் அனுப்பப்பட்டு வந்தேன்;

And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

இதோ, தகுந்தகாலத்திலே நிறைவேறப்போகிற என் வார்த்தைகளை நீ விசுவாசியாதபடியினால் இவைகள் சம்பவிக்கும் நாள்மட்டும் நீ பேசக்கூடாமல் ஊமையாயிருப்பாய் என்றான்.

And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

ஜனங்கள் சகரியாவுக்குக் காத்திருந்து, அவன் தேவாலயத்தில் தாமதித்ததினால் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.

அவன் வெளியே வந்தபோது அவர்களிடத்தில் பேசக்கூடாமலிருந்தான்; அதினாலே தேவாலயத்தில் ஒரு தரிசனத்தைக் கண்டானென்று அறிந்தார்கள். அவனும் அவர்களுக்குச் சைகைகாட்டி ஊமையாயிருந்தான்.

And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

அவனுடைய ஊழியத்தின் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறினவுடனே தன் வீட்டுக்குப்போனான்.

And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

அந்நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு, அவன் மனைவியாகிய எலிசபெத்து கர்ப்பவதியாகி: ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த நிந்தையை நீக்கும்படியாகக் கர்த்தர் இந்த நாட்களில் என்மேல் கடாட்சம் வைத்து,

And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

எனக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தருளினார் என்று சொல்லி, ஐந்து மாதம் வெளிப்படாதிருந்தாள்.

Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

ஆறாம் மாதத்திலே காபிரியேல் என்னும் தூதன், கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள நாசரேத்தென்னும் ஊரில்,

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

தாவீதின் வம்சத்தானாகிய யோசேப்பு என்கிற நாமமுள்ள புருஷனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த ஒரு கன்னிகையினிடத்திற்கு தேவனாலே அனுப்பப்பட்டான்; அந்தக் கன்னிகையின் பேர் மரியாள்.

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

அவள் இருந்த வீட்டில் தேவதூதன் பிரவேசித்து: கிருபை பெற்றவளே, வாழ்க, கர்த்தர் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறார், ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள் என்றான்.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

அவளோ அவனைக் கண்டு, அவன் வார்த்தையினால் கலங்கி, இந்த வாழ்த்துதல் எப்படிப்பட்டதோ என்று சிந்தித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

தேவதூதன் அவளை நோக்கி: மரியாளே, பயப்படாதே; நீ தேவனிடத்தில் கிருபைபெற்றாய்.

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

இதோ, நீ கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாய், அவருக்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிடுவாயாக.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

அவர் பெரியவராயிருப்பார், உன்னதமானவருடைய குமாரன் என்னப்படுவார்; கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் அவருடைய பிதாவாகிய தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தை அவருக்குக் கொடுப்பார்.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

அவர் யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தாரை என்றென்றைக்கும் அரசாளுவார்; அவருடைய ராஜ்யத்துக்கு முடிவிராது என்றான்.

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

அதற்கு மரியாள் தேவதூதனை நோக்கி: இது எப்படியாகும்? புருஷனை அறியேனே என்றாள்.

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

தேவதூதன் அவளுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக; பரிசுத்த ஆவி உன்மேல் வரும்; உன்னதமானவருடைய பலம் உன்மேல் நிழலிடும்; ஆதலால் உன்னிடத்தில் பிறக்கும் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளது தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்னப்படும்.

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

இதோ, உனக்கு இனத்தாளாயிருக்கிற எலிசபெத்தும் தன் முதிர்வயதிலே ஒரு புத்திரனைக் கர்ப்பந்தரித்திருக்கிறாள்; மலடியென்னப்பட்ட அவளுக்கு இது ஆறாம் மாதம்.

And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

தேவனாலே கூடாதகாரியம் ஒன்றுமில்லை என்றான்.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

அதற்கு மரியாள்: இதோ, நான் ஆண்டவருக்கு அடிமை, உம்முடைய வார்த்தையின்படி எனக்கு ஆகக்கடவது என்றாள். அப்பொழுது தேவதூதன் அவளிடத்திலிருந்து போய்விட்டான்.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

அந்நாட்களில் மரியாள் எழுந்து, மலைநாட்டிலே யூதாவிலுள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்திற்குத் தீவிரமாய்ப் போய்,

And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

சகரியாவின் வீட்டுக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, எலிசபெத்தை வாழ்த்தினாள்.

And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

எலிசபெத்து மரியாளுடைய வாழ்த்துதலைக் கேட்டபொழுது, அவளுடைய வயிற்றிலிருந்த பிள்ளை துள்ளிற்று; எலிசபெத்து பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் நிரப்பப்பட்டு,

And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

உரத்த சத்தமாய்: ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள், உன் கர்ப்பத்தின் கனியும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டது.

And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

என் ஆண்டவருடைய தாயார் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தது எனக்கு எதினால் கிடைத்தது.

And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

இதோ, நீ வாழ்த்தின சத்தம் என் காதில் விழுந்தவுடனே, என் வயிற்றிலுள்ள பிள்ளை களிப்பாய்த் துள்ளிற்று.

For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

விசுவாசித்தவளே பாக்கியவதி, கர்த்தராலே அவளுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகள் நிறைவேறும் என்றாள்.

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

அப்பொழுது மரியாள்: என் ஆத்துமா கர்த்தரை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறது.

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

என் ஆவி என் இரட்சகராகிய தேவனில் களிகூருகிறது.

And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

அவர் தம்முடைய அடிமையின் தாழ்மையை நோக்கிப்பார்த்தார்; இதோ, இதுமுதல் எல்லாச் சந்ததிகளும் என்னைப் பாக்கியவதி என்பார்கள்.

For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

வல்லமையுடையவர் மகிமையானவைகளை எனக்குச் செய்தார்; அவருடைய நாமம் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளது.

For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

அவருடைய இரக்கம் அவருக்குப் பயந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்குத் தலைமுறை தலைமுறைக்குமுள்ளது.

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

தம்முடைய புயத்தினாலே பராக்கிரமஞ்செய்தார்; இருதய சிந்தையில் அகந்தையுள்ளவர்களைச் சிதறடித்தார்.

He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

பலவான்களை ஆசனங்களிலிருந்து தள்ளி, தாழ்மையானவர்களை உயர்த்தினார்.

He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

பசியுள்ளவர்களை நன்மைகளினால் நிரப்பி, ஐசுவரியமுள்ளவர்களை வெறுமையாய் அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர் சொன்னபடியே, ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் அவன் சந்ததிக்கும் என்றென்றைக்கும் இரக்கஞ்செய்ய நினைத்து,

He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை ஆதரித்தார் என்றாள்.

As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

மரியாள் ஏறக்குறைய மூன்றுமாதம் அவளுடனே இருந்து, தன் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனாள்.

And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.

எலிசபெத்துக்குப் பிரசவகாலம் நிறைவேறினபோது அவள் ஒரு புத்திரனைப் பெற்றாள்.

Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.

கர்த்தர் அவளிடத்தில் தம்முடைய இரக்கத்தை விளங்கப்பண்ணினாரென்று அவளுடைய அயலகத்தாரும் பந்துஜனங்களும் கேள்விப்பட்டு, அவளுடனேகூடச் சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்.

And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

எட்டாம்நாளிலே பிள்ளைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணும்படிக்கு அவர்கள் வந்து, அதின் தகப்பனுடைய நாமத்தின்படி அதற்குச் சகரியா என்று பேரிடப்போனார்கள்.

And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.

அப்பொழுது அதின் தாய்: அப்படியல்ல, அதற்கு யோவான் என்று பேரிடவேண்டும் என்றாள்.

And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: உன் உறவின் முறையாரில் இந்தப் பேருள்ள வன் ஒருவனும் இல்லையே என்று சொல்லி,

And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.

அதின் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: இதற்கு என்ன பேரிட மனதாயிருக்கிறீர் என்று சைகையினால் கேட்டார்கள்.

And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.

அவன் எழுத்துப் பலகையைக் கேட்டு வாங்கி, இவன் பேர் யோவான் என்று எழுதினான்; எல்லாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.

உடனே அவனுடைய வாய் திறக்கப்பட்டு, அவனுடைய நாவும் கட்டவிழ்க்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரித்துப் பேசினான்.

And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.

அதினால் அவர்களைச்சுற்றி வாசமாயிருந்த யாவருக்கும் பயமுண்டாயிற்று. மேலும் யூதேயாவின் மலைநாடெங்கும் இந்த வர்த்தமானங்களெல்லாம் சொல்லிக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.

அவைகளைக் கேள்விப்பட்டவர்களெல்லாரும் தங்கள் மனதிலே அவைகளை வைத்துக்கொண்டு, இந்தப் பிள்ளை எப்படிப்பட்டதாயிருக்குமோ என்றார்கள். கர்த்தருடைய கரம் அந்தப் பிள்ளையோடே இருந்தது.

And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.

அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய சகரியா பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே நிரப்பப்பட்டு, தீர்க்கதரிசனமாக:

And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் உண்டாவதாக.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

அவர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணின இரக்கத்தைச் செய்வதற்கும்;

And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த உடன்படிக்கையை நினைத்தருளி:

As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைகளினின்று நீங்கள் விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் பயமில்லாமல் எனக்கு முன்பாகப் பரிசுத்தத்தோடும் நீதியோடும் எனக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்யக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்று,

That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

அவர் நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இட்ட ஆணையை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கும்;

To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

ஆதிமுதற்கொண்டிருந்த தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் வாக்கினால் தாம் சொன்னபடியே,

The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

தமது ஜனத்தைச் சந்தித்து மீட்டுக்கொண்டு, நம்முடைய சத்துருக்களினின்றும், நம்மைப் பகைக்கிற யாவருடைய கைகளினின்றும், நம்மை இரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு,

That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதின்வம்சத்திலே நமக்கு இரட்சணியக்கொம்பை ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

நீயோ பாலகனே, உன்னதமானவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசி என்னப்படுவாய்; நீ கர்த்தருக்கு வழிகளை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணவும்,

And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;

நமது தேவனுடைய உருக்கமான இரக்கத்தினாலே அவருடைய ஜனத்துக்குப் பாவமன்னிப்பாகிய இரட்சிப்பைத் தெரியப்படுத்தவும், அவருக்கு முன்னாக நடந்துபோவாய்.

To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,

அந்தகாரத்திலும் மரண இருளிலும் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் தரவும்,

Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,

நம்முடைய கால்களைச் சமாதானத்தின் வழியிலே நடத்தவும், அவ்விரக்கத்தினாலே உன்னதத்திலிருந்து தோன்றிய அருணோதயம் நம்மைச் சந்தித்திருக்கிறது என்றான்.

To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

அந்தப் பிள்ளை வளர்ந்து, ஆவியிலே பலங்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலுக்குத் தன்னைக் காண்பிக்கும் நாள்வரைக்கும் வனாந்தரங்களிலே இருந்தான்.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 2

அந்நாட்களில் உலகமெங்கும் குடிமதிப்பு எழுதப்படவேண்டுமென்று அகஸ்துராயனால் கட்டளை பிறந்தது.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

சீரியா நாட்டிலே சிரேனியு என்பவன் தேசாதிபதியாயிருந்தபோது இந்த முதலாம் குடிமதிப்பு உண்டாயிற்று.

And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

அந்தப்படி குடிமதிப்பெழுதப்படும்படிக்கு எல்லாரும் தங்கள் தங்கள் ஊர்களுக்குப் போனார்கள்.

And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

அப்பொழுது யோசேப்பும், தான் தாவீதின் வம்சத்தானும் குடும்பத்தானுமாயிருந்தபடியினாலே, தனக்கு மனைவியாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுக் கர்ப்பவதியான மரியாளுடனே குடிமதிப்பெழுதப்படும்படி,

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

கலிலேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள நாசரேத்தூரிலிருந்து யூதேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள பெத்லகேம் என்னும் தாவீதின் ஊருக்குப் போனான்.

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

அவ்விடத்திலே அவர்கள் இருக்கையில், அவளுக்குப் பிரசவகாலம் நேரிட்டது.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

அவள் தன் முதற்பேறான குமாரனைப் பெற்று, சத்திரத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு இடமில்லாதிருந்தபடியினால், பிள்ளையைத் துணிகளில் சுற்றி, முன்னணையிலே கிடத்தினாள்.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

அப்பொழுது அந்த நாட்டிலே மேய்ப்பர்கள் வயல்வெளியில் தங்கி, இராத்திரியிலே தங்கள் மந்தையைக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

அவ்வேளையில் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவர்களிடத்தில் வந்து நின்றான், கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் பிரகாசித்தது; அவர்கள் மிகவும் பயந்தார்கள்.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

தேவதூதன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; இதோ, எல்லா ஜனத்துக்கும் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷத்தை உண்டாக்கும் நற்செய்தியை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறேன்.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

இன்று கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து என்னும் இரட்சகர் உங்களுக்குத் தாவீதின் ஊரிலே பிறந்திருக்கிறார்.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

பிள்ளையைத் துணிகளில் சுற்றி, முன்னணையிலே கிடத்தியிருக்கக் காண்பீர்கள்; இதுவே உங்களுக்கு அடையாளம் என்றான்.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

அந்தக்ஷணமே பரமசேனையின் திரள் அந்தத் தூதனுடனே தோன்றி:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

உன்னதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனுக்கு மகிமையும், பூமியிலே சமாதானமும், மனுஷர்மேல் பிரியமும் உண்டாவதாக என்று சொல்லி, தேவனைத் துதித்தார்கள்.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

தேவதூதர்கள் அவர்களை விட்டுப் பரலோகத்துக்குப் போனபின்பு, மேய்ப்பர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: நாம் பெத்லகேம் ஊருக்குப் போய், நடந்ததாகக் கர்த்தரால் நமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்தக் காரியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

தீவிரமாய் வந்து, மரியாளையும் யோசேப்பையும், முன்னணையிலே கிடத்தியிருக்கிற பிள்ளையையும் கண்டார்கள்.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

கண்டு, அந்தப் பிள்ளையைக்குறித்துத் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்ட சங்கதியைப் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

மேய்ப்பராலே தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதைக் கேட்ட யாவரும் அவைகளைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

மரியாளோ அந்தச் சங்கதிகளையெல்லாம் தன் இருதயத்திலே வைத்து, சிந்தனைபண்ணினாள்.

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

மேய்ப்பர்களும் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதின்படியே கேட்டு கண்ட எல்லாவற்றிற்காகவும் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, துதித்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

பிள்ளைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் பண்ணவேண்டிய எட்டாம் நாளிலே, அது கர்ப்பத்திலே உற்பவிக்கிறதற்கு முன்னே தேவதூதனால் சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே, அதற்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியே அவர்களுடைய சுத்திகரிப்பின் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறினபோது,

And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

முதற்பேறான எந்த ஆண்பிள்ளையும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமானதென்னப்படும் என்று கர்த்தருடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி அவரைக் கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கவும்,

As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

கர்த்தருடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறபடி, ஒரு ஜோடு காட்டுப்புறாவையாவது இரண்டு புறாக்குஞ்சுகளையாவது பலியாகச் செலுத்தவும், அவரை எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

அப்பொழுது சிமியோன் என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் எருசலேமில் இருந்தான்; அவன் நீதியும் தேவபக்தியும் உள்ளவனாயும், இஸ்ரவேலின் ஆறுதல்வரக் காத்திருக்கிறவனாயும் இருந்தான்; அவன்மேல் பரிசுத்தஆவி இருந்தார்.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

கர்த்தருடைய கிறிஸ்துவை நீ காணுமுன்னே மரணமடையமாட்டாய் என்று பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுமிருந்தது.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

அவன் ஆவியின் ஏவுதலினால் தேவாலயத்திலே வந்திருந்தான். இயேசு என்னும் பிள்ளைக்காக நியாயப்பிரமாணமுறைமையின்படி செய்வதற்குத் தாய் தகப்பன்மார் அவரை உள்ளே கொண்டுவருகையில்,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

அவன் அவரைத் தன் கைகளில் ஏந்திக்கொண்டு, தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரித்து:

Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

ஆண்டவரே, உமது வார்த்தையின்படி உமது அடியேனை இப்பொழுது சமாதானத்தோடே போகவிடுகிறீர்;

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

புறஜாதிகளுக்குப் பிரகாசிக்கிற ஒளியாகவும், உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு மகிமையாகவும்,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

தேவரீர் சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் முன்பாக ஆயத்தம்பண்ணின.

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

உம்முடைய இரட்சணியத்தை என் கண்கள் கண்டது என்றான்.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

அவரைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகளுக்காக யோசேப்பும் அவருடைய தாயாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

பின்னும் சிமியோன் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்து, அவருடைய தாயாகிய மரியாளை நோக்கி: இதோ, அநேகருடைய இருதய சிந்தனைகள் வெளிப்படத்தக்கதாக, இஸ்ரவேலில் அநேகர் விழுகிறதற்கும் எழுந்திருக்கிறதற்கும், விரோதமாகப் பேசப்படும் அடையாளமாவதற்கும், இவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்.

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

உன் ஆத்துமாவையும் ஒரு பட்டயம் உருவிப்போகும் என்றான்.

Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

ஆசேருடைய கோத்திரத்தாளும், பானுவேலின் குமாரத்தியுமாகிய அன்னாள் என்னும் ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசி இருந்தாள்; அவள் கன்னிப்பிராயத்தில் விவாகமானதுமுதல் ஏழுவருஷம் புருஷனுடனே வாழ்ந்தவளும், அதிக வயதுசென்றவளுமாயிருந்தாள்.

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

ஏறக்குறைய எண்பத்துநாலு வயதுள்ள அந்த விதவை தேவாலயத்தைவிட்டு நீங்காமல், இரவும் பகலும் உபவாசித்து, ஜெபம்பண்ணி, ஆராதனை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தாள்.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

அவளும் அந்நேரத்திலே வந்து நின்று, கர்த்தரைப் புகழ்ந்து, எருசலேமிலே மீட்புண்டாகக் காத்திருந்த யாவருக்கும் அவரைக்குறித்துப் பேசினாள்.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

கர்த்தருடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி சகலத்தையும் அவர்கள் செய்துமுடித்தபின்பு, கலிலேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள தங்கள் ஊராகிய நாசரேத்துக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

பிள்ளை வளர்ந்து, ஆவியிலே பெலன்கொண்டு, ஞானத்தினால் நிறைந்தது. தேவனுடைய கிருபையும் அவர்மேல் இருந்தது.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

அவருடைய தாய் தகப்பன்மார் வருஷந்தோறும் பஸ்கா பண்டிகையில் எருசலேமுக்குப் போவார்கள்.

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

அவருக்குப் பன்னிரண்டு வயதானபோது, அவர்கள் அந்தப் பண்டிகைமுறைமையின்படி எருசலேமுக்குப்போய்,

And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

பண்டிகைநாட்கள் முடிந்து, திரும்பிவருகிறபோது, பிள்ளையாகிய இயேசு எருசலேமிலே இருந்துவிட்டார்; இது அவருடைய தாயாருக்கும் யோசேப்புக்கும் தெரியாதிருந்தது.

And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

அவர் பிரயாணக்காரரின் கூட்டத்திலே இருப்பாரென்று அவர்கள் நினைத்து, ஒருநாள் பிரயாணம் வந்து, உறவின் முறையாரிடத்திலும் அறிமுகமானவர்களிடத்திலும் அவரைத் தேடினார்கள்.

But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

காணாததினாலே அவரைத் தேடிக்கொண்டே எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.

And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

மூன்றுநாளைக்குப் பின்பு, அவர் தேவாலயத்தில் போதகர் நடுவில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கவும், அவர்கள் பேசுகிறதைக் கேட்கவும், அவர்களை வினாவவும் கண்டார்கள்.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

அவர் பேசக்கேட்ட யாவரும் அவருடைய புத்தியையும் அவர் சொன்ன மாறுத்தரங்களையுங்குறித்துப் பிரமித்தார்கள்.

And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

தாய் தகப்பன்மாரும் அவரைக்கண்டு ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவருடைய தாயார் அவரை நோக்கி: மகனே! ஏன் எங்களுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தாய்? இதோ, உன் தகப்பனும் நானும் விசாரத்தோடே உன்னைத் தேடினோமே என்றாள்.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் ஏன் என்னைத் தேடினீர்கள்? என் பிதாவுக்கடுத்தவைகளில் நான் இருக்கவேண்டிதென்று அறியீர்களா என்றார்.

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

தங்களுக்கு அவர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை அவர்கள் உணர்ந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

பின்பு அவர் அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போய், நாசரேத்தூரில் சேர்ந்து, அவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருந்தார். அவருடைய தாயார் இந்தச் சங்கதிகளையெல்லாம் தன் இருதயத்திலே வைத்துக்கொண்டாள்.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

இயேசுவானவர் ஞானத்திலும், வளர்த்தியிலும், தேவகிருபையிலும், மனுஷர் தயவிலும் அதிகமதிகமாய் விருத்தியடைந்தார்.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
