தானியேல் அத்தியாயம் 4

ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் பூமி எங்கும் குடியிருக்கிற சகல ஜனத்தாருக்கும் ஜாதியாருக்கும் பாஷைக்காரருக்கும் எழுதுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம் பெருகக்கடவது.

Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

உன்னதமான தேவன் என்னிடத்தில் செய்த அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் பிரசித்தப்படுத்துவது எனக்கு நன்மையாய்க் கண்டது.

I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.

அவருடைய அடையாளங்கள் எவ்வளவு மகத்துவமும், அவருடைய அற்புதங்கள் எவ்வளவு வல்லமையுமாயிருக்கிறது; அவருடைய ராஜ்யம் நித்தியராஜ்யம்; அவருடைய ஆளுகை தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக நிற்கும்.

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

நேபுகாத்நேச்சாராகிய நான் என் வீட்டிலே சவுக்கியமுள்ளவனாயிருந்து என் அரமனையிலே வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தேன்.

I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

நான் ஒரு சொப்பனத்தைக் கண்டேன்; அது எனக்குத் திகிலை உண்டாக்கிற்று; என் படுக்கையின்மேல் எனக்குள் உண்டான நினைவுகளும், என் தலையில் தோன்றின தரிசனங்களும் என்னைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணிற்று.

I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

ஆகையால் சொப்பனத்தின் அர்த்தத்தை எனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கிறதற்காகப் பாபிலோன் ஞானிகளையெல்லாம் என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டேன்.

Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

அப்பொழுது சாஸ்திரிகளும், ஜோசியரும், கல்தேயரும், குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களும் என்னிடத்திலே வந்தார்கள்; சொப்பனத்தை நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்; ஆனாலும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தை எனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கமாட்டாமற்போனார்கள்.

Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

கடைசியிலே என் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தின்படியே பெல்தெஷாத்சார் என்னும் பெயரிடப்பட்டு, பரிசுத்த தேவர்களின் ஆவியையுடைய தானியேல் என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டான்; அவனிடத்தில் நான் சொப்பனத்தை விவரித்துச் சொன்னதாவது:

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

சாஸ்திரிகளின் அதிபதியாகிய பெல்தெஷாத்சாரே, பரிசுத்த தேவர்களுடைய ஆவி உனக்குள் இருக்கிறதென்றும், எந்த மறைபொருளையும் அறிவது உனக்கு அரிதல்லவென்றும் நான் அறிவேன்; நான் கண்ட என் சொப்பனத்தின் தரிசனங்களையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் சொல்லு.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

நான் படுத்திருந்தபோது என் தலையில் தோன்றின தரிசனங்கள் என்னவென்றால்: இதோ, தேசத்தின் மத்தியிலே மிகவும் உயரமான ஒரு விருட்சத்தைக் கண்டேன்.

Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

அந்த விருட்சம் வளர்ந்து பலத்து, தேசத்தின் எல்லைபரியந்தமும் காணப்படத்தக்கதாக அதின் உயரம் வானபரியந்தம் எட்டினது.

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

அதின் இலைகள் நேர்த்தியும், அதின் கனி மிகுதியுமாயிருந்தது; எல்லா ஜீவனுக்கும் அதில் ஆகாரம் உண்டாயிருந்தது; அதின் கீழே வெளியின் மிருகங்கள் நிழலுக்கு ஒதுங்கினது; அதின் கொப்புகளில் ஆகாயத்துப் பட்சிகள் தாபரித்துச் சகல பிராணிகளும் அதினால் போஷிக்கப்பட்டது.

The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

நான் படுத்திருக்கையில் என் தலையில் தோன்றின தரிசனங்களைக் காணும்போது, காவலாளனாகிய பரிசுத்தவான் ஒருவன் வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கக்கண்டேன்.

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

அவன் உரத்த சத்தமிட்டு: இந்த விருட்சத்தை வெட்டி, இதின் கொப்புகளைத் தறித்துப்போடுங்கள்; இதின் இலைகளை உதிர்த்து, இதின் கனிகளைச் சிதறடியுங்கள்; இதின் கீழுள்ள மிருகங்களும் இதின் கொப்புகளிலுள்ள பட்சிகளும் போய்விடட்டும்.

He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

ஆனாலும் இதின் வேர்களாகிய அடிமரம் பூமியில் இருக்கட்டும்; இரும்பும் வெண்கலமுமான விலங்கு இடப்பட்டு, வெளியின் பசும்புல்லிலே தங்கி, ஆகாயத்துப் பனியிலே நனைவதாக; மிருகங்களோடே பூமியின் பூண்டிலே அவனுக்குப் பங்கு இருக்கக்கடவது.

Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

அவனுடைய இருதயம் மனுஷ இருதயமாயிராமல் மாறும்படி, மிருக இருதயம் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படக்கடவது; இப்படியிருக்கிற அவன்மேல் ஏழு காலங்கள் கடந்துபோகவேண்டும்.

Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

உன்னதமானவர் மனுஷருடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் ஆளுகைசெய்து தமக்குச் சித்தமானவனுக்கு அதைக் கொடுத்து, மனுஷரில் தாழ்ந்தவனையும் அதின்மேல் அதிகாரியாக்குகிறார் என்று நரஜீவன்கள் அறியும்படிக்குக் காவலாளரின் தீர்ப்பினால் இந்தக் காரியமும் பரிசுத்தவான்களின் மொழியினால் இந்த விசாரணையும் தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டது என்றான்.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் என்னும் ராஜாவாகிய நான் கண்ட சொப்பனம் இதுவே; இப்போது பெல்தெஷாத்சாரே, நீ இதின் அர்த்தத்தைச் சொல்லு; என் ராஜ்யத்திலுள்ள ஞானிகள் எல்லாராலும் இதின் அர்த்தத்தை எனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கக்கூடாமற்போயிற்று; நீயோ இதைத் தெரிவிக்கத்தக்கவன்; பரிசுத்த தேவர்களுடைய ஆவி உனக்குள் இருக்கிறதே என்றான்.

This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

அப்பொழுது பெல்தெஷாத்சாரென்னும் பேருள்ள தானியேல் ஒரு நாழிகைமட்டும் திகைத்துச் சிந்தித்துக் கலங்கினான். ராஜா அவனை நோக்கி: பெல்தெஷாத்சாரே, சொப்பனமும் அதின் அர்த்தமும் உன்னைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணவேணடியதில்லை என்றான்; அப்பொழுது பெல்தெஷாத்சார் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் ஆண்டவனே, அந்தச் சொப்பனம் உம்முடைய பகைவரிடத்திலும், அதின் அர்த்தம் உம்முடைய சத்துருக்களிடத்திலும் பலிக்கக்கடவது.

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

நீர் கண்ட விருட்சம் வளர்ந்து பலத்து, தேசத்தின் எல்லைபரியந்தம் காணப்படத்தக்கதாக அதின் உயரம் வானபரியந்தம் எட்டினது.

The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

அதின் இலைகள் நேர்த்தியும், அதின் கனி மிகுதியுமாயிருந்தது; எல்லா ஜீவனுக்கும் அதில் ஆகாரம் உண்டாயிருந்தது; அதின்கீழே வெளியின் மிருகங்கள் தங்கினது, அதின் கொப்புகளில் ஆகாயத்துப் பட்சிகள் தாபரித்தது.

Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

அது பெரியவரும் பலத்தவருமாயிருக்கிற ராஜாவாகிய நீர்தாமே; உமது மகத்துவம் பெருகி வானபரியந்தமும், உமது கர்த்தத்துவம் பூமியின் எல்லைபரியந்தமும் எட்டியிருக்கிறது.

It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

இந்த விருட்சத்தை வெட்டி, இதை அழித்துப்போடுங்கள்; ஆனாலும் இதின் வேர்களாகிய அடிமரம் தரையில் இருக்கட்டுமென்றும், இரும்பும் வெண்கலமுமான விலங்கு இடப்பட்டு, வெளியின் பசும்புல்லிலே தங்கி, ஆகாயத்துப் பனியில் நனைவதாக; ஏழு காலங்கள் அவன்மேல் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் மிருகங்களோடே அவனுடைய பங்கு இருக்கக்கடவதென்றும், வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கிச் சொன்ன பரிசுத்த காவலாளனை ராஜாவாகிய நீர் கண்டீரே.

And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

ராஜாவே, அதின் அர்த்தமும் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன்பேரில் வந்த உன்னதமானவருடைய தீர்மானமும் என்னவென்றால்: மனுஷரினின்று நீர் தள்ளிவிடப்படுவீர்; வெளியின் மிருகங்களோடே சஞ்சரிப்பீர்; மாடுகளைப்போலப் புல்லைமேய்ந்து, ஆகாயத்துப் பனியிலே நனைவீர்.

This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:

உன்னதமானவர் மனுஷருடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் ஆளுகைசெய்து, தமக்குச் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறவனுக்கு அதைக்கொடுக்கிறார் என்பதை நீர் அறிந்துகொள்ளுமட்டும் ஏழு காலங்கள் உம்முடைய பேரில் கடந்துபோகவேண்டும்.

That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

ஆனாலும் விருட்சத்தின் வேர்களாகிய அடிமரம் தரையில் இருக்கட்டும் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டது என்னவென்றால்: நீர் பரம அதிகாரத்தை அறிந்தபின், ராஜ்யம் உமக்கு நிலைநிற்கும்.

And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

ஆகையால் ராஜாவே, நான் சொல்லும் ஆலோசனையை நீர் அங்கீகரித்துக்கொண்டு நீதியைச் செய்து உமது பாவங்களையும், சிறுமையானவர்களுக்கு இரங்கி உமது அக்கிரமங்களையும் அகற்றிவிடும்; அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய வாழ்வு நீடித்திருக்கலாம் என்றான்.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

இதெல்லாம் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின்மேல் வந்தது.

All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

பன்னிரண்டு மாதம் சென்ற பின்பு, ராஜா பாபிலோன் ராஜ்யத்தின் அரமனைமேல் உலாவிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது:

At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

இது என் வல்லமையின் பராக்கிரமத்தினால், என் மகிமைப்பிரதாபத்துக்கென்று, ராஜ்யத்துக்கு அரமனையாக நான் கட்டின மகா பாபிலோன் அல்லவா என்று சொன்னான்.

The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

இந்த வார்த்தை ராஜாவின் வாயில் இருக்கும்போதே, வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டாகி: ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரே, ராஜ்யபாரம் உன்னைவிட்டு நீங்கிற்று.

While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

மனுஷரினின்று தள்ளப்படுவாய்; வெளியின் மிருகங்களோடே சஞ்சரிப்பாய்; மாடுகளைப்போல் புல்லை மேய்வாய்; இப்படியே உன்னதமானவர் மனுஷருடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் ஆளுகை செய்து, தமக்குச் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறவனுக்கு அதைக் கொடுக்கிறாரென்பதை நீ அறிந்துகொள்ளுமட்டும் ஏழு காலங்கள் உன்மேல் கடந்துபோகும் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது என்று விளம்பினது.

And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

அந்நேரமே இந்த வார்த்தை நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரிடத்தில் நிறைவேறிற்று; அவன் மனுஷரினின்று தள்ளப்பட்டு, மாடுகளைப்போல் புல்லை மேய்ந்தான்; அவனுடைய தலைமயிர் கழுகுகளுடைய இறகுகளைப்போலவும், அவனுடைய நகங்கள் பட்சிகளுடைய நகங்களைப்போலவும் வளருமட்டும் அவன் சரீரம் ஆகாயத்துப் பனியிலே நனைந்தது.

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

அந்த நாட்கள் சென்றபின்பு, நேபுகாத்நேச்சாராகிய நான் என் கண்களை வானத்துக்கு ஏறெடுத்தேன்; என் புத்தி எனக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தது; அப்பொழுது நான் உன்னதமானவரை ஸ்தோத்திரித்து, என்றென்றைக்கும் ஜீவித்திருக்கிறவரைப் புகழ்ந்து மகிமைப்படுத்தினேன்; அவருடைய கர்த்தத்துவமே நித்திய கர்த்தத்துவம், அவருடைய ராஜ்யமே தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக நிற்கும்.

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

பூமியின் குடிகள் எல்லாம் ஒன்றுமில்லையென்று எண்ணப்படுகிறார்கள்; அவர் தமது சித்தத்தின்படியே வானத்தின் சேனையையும் பூமியின் குடிகளையும் நடத்துகிறார்; அவருடைய கையைத்தடுத்து, அவரை நோக்கி: என்ன செய்கிறீரென்று சொல்லத்தக்கவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை என்றேன்.

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

அவ்வேளையில் என் புத்தி எனக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தது; என் ராஜ்யபாரத்தின் மேன்மைக்காக என் மகிமையும் என் முகக்களையும் எனக்குத் திரும்பி வந்தது; என் மந்திரிமாரும் என் பிரபுக்களும் என்னைத் தேடிவந்தார்கள்; என் ராஜ்யத்திலே நான் ஸ்திரப்படுத்தப்பட்டேன்; அதிக மகத்துவமும் எனக்குக் கிடைத்தது.

At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

ஆகையால் நேபுகாத்நேச்சாராகிய நான் பரலோகத்தின் ராஜாவைப் புகழ்ந்து, உயர்த்தி, மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறேன்; அவருடைய கிரியைகளெல்லாம் சத்தியமும், அவருடைய வழிகள் நியாயமுமானவைகள்; அகந்தையாய் நடக்கிறவர்களைத் தாழ்த்த அவராலே ஆகும் என்று எழுதினான்.

Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 7

இந்த மெல்கிசேதேக்கு சாலேமின் ராஜாவும், உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய ஆசாரியனுமாயிருந்தான்; ராஜாக்களை முறியடித்துவந்த ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இவன் எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

இவனுக்கு ஆபிரகாம் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான்; இவனுடைய முதற்பேராகிய மெல்கிசேதேக்கு என்பதற்கு நீதியின் ராஜா என்றும், பின்பு சாலேமின் ராஜா என்பதற்குச் சமாதானத்தின் ராஜா என்றும் அர்த்தமாம்.

To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

இவன் தகப்பனும் தாயும் வம்சவரலாறும் இல்லாதவன்; இவன் நாட்களின் துவக்கமும் ஜீவனின் முடிவுமுடையவனாயிராமல், தேவனுடைய குமாரனுக்கு ஒப்பானவனாய் என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியனாக நிலைத்திருக்கிறான்.

Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

இவன் எவ்வளவு பெரியவனாயிருக்கிறான் பாருங்கள்; கோத்திரத்தலைவனாகிய ஆபிரகாம் முதலாய் கொள்ளையிடப்பட்ட பொருள்களில் இவனுக்குத் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான்.

Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

லேவியின் புத்திரரில் ஆசாரியத்துவத்தை அடைகிறவர்களும், ஆபிரகாமின் அரையிலிருந்துவந்த தங்கள் சகோதரரான ஜனங்களின் கையிலே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி தசமபாகம் வாங்குகிறதற்குக் கட்டளைபெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

ஆகிலும், அவர்களுடைய வம்சவரிசையில் வராதவனாகிய இவன் ஆபிரகாமின் கையில் தசமபாகம் வாங்கி, வாக்குத்தத்தங்களைப் பெற்றவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

சிறியவன் பெரியவனாலே ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவான், அதற்குச் சந்தேகமில்லை.

And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

அன்றியும், இங்கே, மரிக்கிற மனுஷர்கள் தசமபாகம் வாங்குகிறார்கள்; அங்கேயோ, பிழைத்திருக்கிறான் என்று சாட்சிபெற்றவன் வாங்கினான்.

And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

அன்றியும், மெல்கிசேதேக்கு ஆபிரகாமுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோனபோது, லேவியானவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய அரையிலிருந்தபடியால்,

And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

தசமபாகம் வாங்குகிற அவனும் ஆபிரகாமின் மூலமாய்த் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான் என்று சொல்லலாம்.

For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

அல்லாமலும், இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் லேவிகோத்திர ஆசாரிய முறைமைக்குட்பட்டிருந்தல்லவோ நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் பெற்றார்கள்; அந்த ஆசாரியமுறைமையினாலே பூரணப்படுதல் உண்டாயிருக்குமானால், ஆரோனுடைய முறைமையின்படி அழைக்கப்படாமல், மெல்கிசேதேக்கினுடைய முறைமையின்படி அழைக்கப்பட்ட வேறொரு ஆசாரியர் எழும்பவேண்டுவதென்ன?

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

ஆசாரியத்துவம் மாற்றப்பட்டிருக்குமேயானால், நியாயப்பிரமாணமும் மாற்றப்படவேண்டியதாகும்.

For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

இவைகள் எவரைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறதோ. அவர் வேறொரு கோத்திரத்துக்குள்ளானவராயிருக்கிறாரே; அந்தக் கோத்திரத்தில் ஒருவனாகிலும் பலிபீடத்து ஊழியம் செய்ததில்லையே.

For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

நம்முடைய கர்த்தர் யூதாகோத்திரத்தில் தோன்றினாரென்பது பிரசித்தமாயிருக்கிறது; அந்தக் கோத்திரத்தாரைக்குறித்து மோசே ஆசாரியத்துவத்தைப்பற்றி ஒன்றும் சொல்லவில்லையே.

For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

அல்லாமலும், மெல்கிசேதேக்குக்கு ஒப்பாய் வேறொரு ஆசாரியர் எழும்புகிறார் என்று சொல்லியிருப்பதினால், மேற்சொல்லியது மிகவும் பிரசித்தமாய் விளங்குகிறது.

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

அவர் மாம்ச சம்பந்தமான கட்டளையாகிய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி ஆசாரியராகாமல்,

Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

நீர் மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கிறீர் என்று சொல்லிய சாட்சிக்குத்தக்கதாக அழியாத ஜீவனுக்குரிய வல்லமையின்படியே ஆசாரியரானார்.

For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

முந்தின கட்டளை பெலவீனமுள்ளதும் பயனற்றதுமாயிருந்ததினிமித்தம் மாற்றப்பட்டது.

For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

நியாயப்பிரமாணமானது ஒன்றையும் பூரணப்படுத்தவில்லை, அதிக நன்மையான நம்பிக்கையை வருவிப்பதோ பூரணப்படுத்துகிறது; அந்த நம்பிக்கையினாலே தேவனிடத்தில் சேருகிறோம்.

For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் ஆணையில்லாமல் ஆசாரியராக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்; இவரோ; நீர் மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கிறீர் என்று கர்த்தர் ஆணையிட்டார், மனம்மாறாமலும் இருப்பார் என்று தம்முடனே சொன்னவராலே ஆணையோடே ஆசாரியரானார்.

And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

ஆனதால், இயேசுவானவர் ஆணையின்படியே ஆசாரியராக்கப்பட்டது எவ்வளவு விசேஷித்த காரியமோ,

For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

அவ்வளவு விசேஷித்த உடன்படிக்கைக்குப் பிணையாளியானார்.

By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் மரணத்தினிமித்தம் நிலைத்திருக்கக்கூடாதவர்களானபடியால், ஆசாரியராக்கப்படுகிறவர்கள் அநேகராயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

இவரோ என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறபடியினாலே, மாறிப்போகாத ஆசாரியத்துவமுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்.

But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

மேலும், தமது மூலமாய் தேவனிடத்தில் சேருகிறவர்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல்செய்யும்படிக்கு அவர் எப்பொழுதும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறவராகையால் அவர்களை முற்றுமுடிய இரட்சிக்க வல்லவராயுமிருக்கிறார்.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

பரிசுத்தரும், குற்றமற்றவரும், மாசில்லாதவரும், பாவிகளுக்கு விலகினவரும், வானங்களிலும் உயர்ந்தவருமாயிருக்கிற இவ்விதமான பிரதான ஆசாரியரே நமக்கு ஏற்றவராயிருக்கிறார்.

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

அவர் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களைப்போல முன்பு சொந்தப் பாவங்களுக்காகவும், பின்பு ஜனங்களுடைய பாவங்களுக்காகவும் நாடோறும் பலியிடவேண்டுவதில்லை; ஏனெனில் தம்மைத்தாமே பலியிட்டதினாலே இதை ஒரேதரம் செய்துமுடித்தார்.

Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

நியாயப்பிரமாணமானது பெலவீனமுள்ள மனுஷர்களைப் பிரதான ஆசாரியராக ஏற்படுத்துகிறது; நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்குப்பின்பு உண்டான ஆணையோடே விளங்கிய வசனமோ என்றென்றைக்கும் பூரணரான குமாரனை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது.

For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 8

மேற்சொல்லியவைகளின் முக்கியமான பொருளென்னவெனில்; பரலோகத்திலுள்ள மகத்துவ ஆசனத்தின் வலதுபாரிசத்திலே உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவருமாய்,

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலும், மனுஷரால் அல்ல, கர்த்தரால் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட மெய்யான கூடாரத்திலும் ஆசாரிய ஊழியஞ்செய்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிற பிரதான ஆசாரியர் நமக்கு உண்டு.

A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

ஒவ்வொரு பிரதான ஆசாரியனும் காணிக்கைகளையும் பலிகளையும் செலுத்தும்படி நியமிக்கப்படுகிறான்; ஆதலால் செலுத்தும்படிக்கு ஏதோ ஒன்று இவருக்கும் அவசியம் வேண்டியதாயிருக்கிறது.

For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

பூமியிலே அவர் இருப்பாரானால் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கமாட்டார்; ஏனெனில், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்துகிற ஆசாரியர்கள் இருக்கிறார்களே;

For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

இவர்கள் செய்யும் ஆராதனை பரலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகளின் சாயலுக்கும் நிழலுக்கும் ஒத்திருக்கிறது; அப்படியே, மோசே கூடாரத்தை உண்டுபண்ணப்போகையில்: மலையிலே உனக்குக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்ட மாதிரியின்படியே நீ எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்ய எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு என்று தேவன் அவனுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

இவரோ விசேஷித்த வாக்குத்தத்தங்களின்பேரில் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட விசேஷித்த உடன்படிக்கைக்கு எப்படி மத்தியஸ்தராயிருக்கிறாரோ, அப்படியே முக்கியமான ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தையும் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்.

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

அந்த முதலாம் உடன்படிக்கை பிழையில்லாதிருந்ததானால், இரண்டாம் உடன்படிக்கைக்கு இடம் தேடவேண்டுவதில்லையே.

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

அவர்களைக் குற்றப்படுத்தி, அவர்களை நோக்கி: இதோ, கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவெனில்: இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தோடும் யூதா குடும்பத்தோடும் நான் புது உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துங்காலம் வருகிறது.

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவரும்படிக்கு நான் அவர்களுடைய கையைப் பிடித்த நாளிலே அவர்களோடு பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையைப்போல இது இருப்பதில்லை; அந்த உடன்படிக்கையிலே அவர்கள் நிலைநிற்கவில்லையே, நானும் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்தேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

அந்த நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு நான் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரோடே பண்ணும் உடன்படிக்கையாவது: என்னுடைய பிரமாணங்களை அவர்களுடைய மனதிலே வைத்து, அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்களில் அவைகளை எழுதுவேன்; நான் அவர்கள் தேவனாயிருப்பேன், அவர்கள் என் ஜனமாயிருப்பார்கள்.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

அப்பொழுது சிறியவன் முதற்கொண்டு பெரியவன்வரைக்கும் எல்லாரும் என்னை அறிவார்கள்; ஆகையால், கர்த்தரை அறிந்துகொள் என்று ஒருவன் தன் அயலானுக்கும், ஒருவன் தன் சகோதரனுக்கும் போதிக்கவேண்டுவதில்லை.

And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

ஏனெனில் நான் அவர்கள் அநியாயங்களைக் கிருபையாய் மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் பாவங்களையும் அக்கிரமங்களையும் இனி நினையாமலிருப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

புது உடன்படிக்கை என்று அவர் சொல்லுகிறதினாலே முந்தினதைப் பழமையாக்கினார்; பழமையானதும் நாள்பட்டதுமாயிருக்கிறது உருவழிந்துபோகக் காலம் சமீபித்திருக்கிறது.

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
