தானியேல் அத்தியாயம் 3

ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அறுபதுமுழ உயரமும் ஆறுமுழ அகலமுமான ஒருபொற்சிலையைப் பண்ணுவித்து, பாபிலோன் மாகாணத்திலிருக்கிற தூரா என்னும் சமபூமியிலே நிறுத்தினான்.

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

பின்பு ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் தேசாதிபதிகளையும், அதிகாரிகளையும், தலைவரையும், நியாயாதிபதிகளையும், பொக்கிஷக்காரரையும், நீதிசாஸ்திரிகளையும், விசாரிப்புக்காரரையும், நாடுகளிலுள்ள உத்தியோகஸ்தர் யாவரையும் நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் ராஜா நிறுத்தின சிலையின் பிரதிஷ்டைக்கு வந்து சேரும்படி அழைத்தனுப்பினான்.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

அப்பொழுது தேசாதிபதிகளும், அதிகாரிகளும், தலைவரும், நியாயாதிபதிகளும், பொக்கிஷக்காரரும், நீதிசாஸ்திரிகளும், விசாரிப்புக்காரரும், நாடுகளிலுள்ள உத்தியோகஸ்தர் யாவரும், ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் நிறுத்தின சிலையின் பிரதிஷ்டைக்கு வந்து சேர்ந்து, நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் நிறுத்தின சிலைக்கு எதிராக நின்றார்கள்.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

கட்டியக்காரன் உரத்த சத்தமாய்: சகல ஜனங்களும், ஜாதிகளும், பாஷைக்காரருமானவர்களே, உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறது என்னவென்றால்:

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

எக்காளம், நாகசுரம், கின்னரம், வீணை, சுரமண்டலம், தம்புரு முதலான சகலவித கீதவாத்தியங்களின் சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்கும்போது, நீங்கள் தாழவிழுந்து, ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் நிறுத்தின பொற்சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளக்கடவீர்கள்.

That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

எவனாகிலும் தாழ விழுந்து, அதைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளாமற்போனால், அவன் அந்நேரமே எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையின் நடுவிலே போடப்படுவான் என்றான்.

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

ஆதலால் சகல ஜனங்களும், எக்காளம், நாகசுரம், கின்னரம், வீணை, சுரமண்டலம் முதலான சகலவித கீதவாத்தியங்களின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே, சகல ஜனத்தாரும் ஜாதியாரும் பாஷைக்காரரும் தாழ விழுந்து, ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் நிறுத்தின பொற்சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

அச்சமயத்தில் கல்தேயரில் சிலர் ராஜசமுகத்தில் வந்து, யூதர்பேரில் குற்றஞ்சாற்றி,

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரை நோக்கி: ராஜாவே, நீர் என்றும் வாழ்க.

They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

எக்காளம், நாகசுரம், கின்னரம், வீணை, சுரமண்டலம், தம்புரு முதலான சகலவித கீதவாத்தியங்களின் சத்தத்தையும் கேட்கிற எந்த மனுஷனும் தாழவிழுந்து, பொற்சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டுமென்றும்,

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:

எவனாகிலும் தாழ விழுந்து பணிந்துகொள்ளாமற்போனால், அவன் எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையின் நடுவிலே போடப்படவேண்டுமென்றும், ராஜாவாகிய நீர் கட்டளையிட்டீரே.

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

பாபிலோன் மாகாணத்தின் காரியங்களை விசாரிக்கும்படி நீர் ஏற்படுத்தின சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்னும் யூதரான மனுஷர் இருக்கிறார்களே; அவர்கள் ராஜாவாகிய உம்மை மதிக்கவில்லை; அவர்கள் உம்முடைய தேவர்களுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யாமலும், நீர் நிறுத்தின பொற்சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளாமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் உக்கிரகோபங்கொண்டு சாத்ராக்கையும், மேஷாக்கையும், ஆபேத்நேகோவையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான்; அவர்கள் அந்தப் புருஷரை ராஜாவின் சமுகத்தில் கொண்டுவந்துவிட்டபோது,

Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.

நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அவர்களை நோக்கி: சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களே, நீங்கள் என் தேவர்களுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்யாமலும் நான் நிறுத்தின பொற்சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொள்ளாமலும் இருந்தது மெய்தானா?

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

இப்போதும் எக்காளம், நாகசுரம், கின்னரம், வீணை, சுரமண்டலம், தம்புரு முதலான சகலவித கீதவாத்தியங்களின் சத்தத்தையும் நீங்கள் கேட்கும்போது, தாழ விழுந்து, நான் பண்ணிவைத்த சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொள்ள ஆயத்தமாயிருந்தால் நல்லது; பணிந்துகொள்ளாதிருந்தீர்களேயாகில், அந்நேரமே எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையின் நடுவிலே போடப்படுவீர்கள்; உங்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்கப்போகிற தேவன் யார் என்றான்.

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்கள் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரே, இந்தக் காரியத்தைக் குறித்து உமக்கு உத்தரவுசொல்ல எங்களுக்கு அவசியமில்லை.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

நாங்கள் ஆராதிக்கிற எங்கள் தேவன் எங்களைத் தப்புவிக்க வல்லவராயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளைக்கும், ராஜாவாகிய உம்முடைய கைக்கும் நீங்கலாக்கி விடுவிப்பார்.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

விடுவிக்காமற்போனாலும், நாங்கள் உம்முடைய தேவர்களுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வதுமில்லை, நீர் நிறுத்தின பொற்சிலையைப் பணிந்துகொள்வதுமில்லை என்கிறது ராஜாவாகிய உமக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்கக்கடவது என்றார்கள்.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருக்குக் கடுங்கோபமூண்டு: சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் அவனுடைய முகம் வேறுபட்டது; சூளையைச் சாதாரணமாய்ச் சூடாக்குவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஏழுமடங்கு அதிகமாய்ச் சூடாக்கும்படி உத்தரவுகொடுத்து,

Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களை எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையிலேபோடுவதற்கு அவர்களைக் கட்டும்படி, தன் இராணுவத்தில் பலசாலிகளாகிய புருஷருக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டான்.

And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தங்கள் சால்வைகளோடும், நிசார்களோடும், பாகைகளோடும் மற்ற வஸ்திரங்களோடும் கட்டப்பட்டு, எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையின் நடுவிலே போடப்பட்டார்கள்.

Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

ராஜாவின் கட்டளை கடுமையாயிருந்தபடியினாலும், சூளை மிகவும் சூடாக்கப்பட்டிருந்தபடியினாலும், அக்கினி ஜூவாலையானது சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களைத் தூக்கிக்கொண்டுபோன புருஷரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டது.

Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்னும் அந்த மூன்று புருஷரும் கட்டுண்டவர்களாய் எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையின் நடுவிலே விழுந்தார்கள்.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் பிரமித்து, தீவிரமாய் எழுந்திருந்து, தன் மந்திரிமார்களை நோக்கி: மூன்று புருஷரை அல்லவோ கட்டுண்டவர்களாக அக்கினியிலே போடுவித்தோம் என்றான்; அவர்கள் ராஜாவுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ஆம், ராஜாவே என்றார்கள்.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, நாலுபேர் விடுதலையாய் அக்கினியின் நடுவிலே உலாவுகிறதைக் காண்கிறேன். அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு சேதமுமில்லை; நாலாம் ஆளின்சாயல் தேவபுத்திரனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது என்றான்.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் எரிகிற அக்கினிச்சூளையின் வாசலண்டைக்கு வந்து, உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய தாசராகிய சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களே, நீங்கள் வெளியே வாருங்கள் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்கள் அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து வெளியே வந்தார்கள்.

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

தேசாதிபதிகளும், அதிகாரிகளும், தலைவரும், ராஜாவின் மந்திரிகளும் கூடிவந்து, அந்தப் புருஷனுடைய சரீரங்களின்மேல் அக்கினி பெலஞ்செய்யாமலும், அவர்களுடைய தலைமயிர் கருகாமலும், அவர்களுடைய சால்வைகள் சேதப்படாமலும், அக்கினியின் மணம் அவர்களிடத்தில் வீசாமலும் இருந்ததைக் கண்டார்கள்.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

அப்பொழுது நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வசனித்து: சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களுடைய தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்; அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய தேவனைத்தவிர வேறொரு தேவனையும் சேவித்துப் பணியாமல், அவரையே நம்பி, ராஜாவின் கட்டளையைத் தள்ளி, தங்கள் சரீரங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததினால், அவர் தமது தூதனை அனுப்பி, தம்முடைய தாசரை விடுவித்தார்.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

ஆதலால் சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களுடைய தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தூஷணவார்த்தையைச் சொல்லுகிற எந்த ஜனத்தானும், எந்த ஜாதியானும், எந்த பாஷைக்காரனும் துண்டித்துப்போடப்படுவான்; அவன் வீடு எருக்களமாக்கப்படும் என்று என்னாலே தீர்மானிக்கப்படுகிறது; இவ்விதமாய் இரட்சிக்கத்தக்க தேவன் வேறொருவரும் இல்லையென்றான்.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

பின்பு ராஜா சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களைப் பாபிலோன் தேசத்திலே உயர்த்தினான்.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 4

ஆனபடியினாலே, அவருடைய இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசிப்பதற்கேதுவான வாக்குத்தத்தம் நமக்குண்டாயிருக்க, உங்களில் ஒருவனும் அதை அடையாமல் பின்வாங்கிப்போனவனாகக் காணப்படாதபடிக்குப் பயந்திருக்கக்கடவோம்.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

ஏனெனில், சுவிசேஷம் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதுபோல நமக்கும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது; கேட்டவர்கள் விசுவாசமில்லாமல் கேட்டபடியினால், அவர்கள் கேட்ட வசனம் அவர்களுக்குப் பிரயோஜனப்படவில்லை.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

விசுவாசித்தவர்களாகிய நாமோ அந்த இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசிக்கிறோம்; அவருடைய கிரியைகள் உலகத்தோற்றமுதல் முடிந்திருந்தும்: இவர்கள் என்னுடைய இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லையென்று என்னுடைய கோபத்திலே ஆணையிட்டேன் என்றார்.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

மேலும், தேவன் தம்முடைய கிரியைகளையெல்லாம் முடித்து ஏழாம் நாளிலே ஓய்ந்திருந்தார் என்று ஏழாம்நாளைக்குறித்து ஓரிடத்தில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் என்னுடைய இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை என்றும் அந்த இடத்திலேதானே சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

ஆகையால், சிலர் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பது இன்னும் வரப்போகிற காரிமாயிருக்கிறபடியினாலும், சுவிசேஷத்தை முதலாவது கேட்டவர்கள் கீழ்ப்படியாமையினாலே அதில் பிரவேசியாமற் போனபடியினாலும்,

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

இன்று அவருடைய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்பீர்களாகில் உங்கள் இருதயங்களைக் கடினப்படுத்தாதிருங்கள் என்று வெகுகாலத்திற்குப்பின்பு தாவீதின் சங்கீதத்திலே சொல்லியிருக்கிறபடி, இன்று என்று சொல்வதினாலே பின்னும் ஒரு நாளைக் குறித்திருக்கிறார்.

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

யோசுவா அவர்களை இளைப்பாறுதலுக்குட்படுத்தியிருந்தால், பின்பு அவர் வேறொரு நாளைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லியிருக்கமாட்டாரே.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

ஆகையால், தேவனுடைய ஜனங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுகிற காலம் இனி வருகிறதாயிருக்கிறது.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

ஏனெனில், அவருடைய இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசித்தவன், தேவன் தம்முடைய கிரியைகளை முடித்து ஓய்ந்ததுபோல, தானும் தன் கிரியைகளை முடித்து ஓய்ந்திருப்பான்.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

ஆகையால், அந்தத் திருஷ்டாந்தத்தின்படி, ஒருவனாகிலும் கீழ்ப்படியாமையினாலே விழுந்துபோகாதபடிக்கு, நாம் இந்த இளைப்பாறுதலில் பிரவேசிக்க ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருக்கக்கடவோம்.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது ஜீவனும் வல்லமையும் உள்ளதாயும், இருபுறமும் கருக்குள்ள எந்தப் பட்டயத்திலும் கருக்கானதாயும், ஆத்துமாவையும், ஆவியையும், கணுக்களையும் ஊனையும் பிரிக்கத்தக்கதாக உருவக் குத்துகிறதாயும், இருதயத்தின் நினைவுகளையும் யோசனைகளையும் வகையறுக்கிறதாயும் இருக்கிறது.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

அவருடைய பார்வைக்கு மறைவான சிருஷ்டி ஒன்றுமில்லை; சகலமும் அவருடைய, கண்களுக்குமுன்பாக நிர்வாணமாயும் வெளியரங்கமாயுமிருக்கிறது, அவருக்கே நாம் கணக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கவேண்டும்.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

வானங்களின் வழியாய்ப் பரலோகத்திற்குப்போன தேவகுமாரனாகிய இயேசு என்னும் மகா பிரதான ஆசாரியர் நமக்கு இருக்கிறபடியினால், நாம் பண்ணின அறிக்கையை உறுதியாய்ப் பற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கக்கடவோம்.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

நம்முடைய பலவீனங்களைக்குறித்துப் பரிதபிக்கக்கூடாத பிரதான ஆசாரியர் நமக்கிராமல், எல்லாவிதத்திலும் நம்மைப்போல் சோதிக்கப்பட்டும், பாவமில்லாதவராயிருக்கிற பிரதான ஆசாரியரே நமக்கிருக்கிறார்.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

ஆதலால், நாம் இரக்கத்தைப் பெறவும், ஏற்ற சமயத்தில் சகாயஞ்செய்யுங்கிருபையை அடையவும், தைரியமாய்க் கிருபாசனத்தண்டையிலே சேரக்கடவோம்.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 5

அன்றியும், மனுஷரில் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட எந்தப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனும் பாவங்களுக்காகக் காணிக்கைகளையும் பலிகளையும் செலுத்தும்படி, மனுஷருக்காக தேவகாரியங்களைப்பற்றி நியமிக்கப்படுகிறான்.

For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

தானும் பலவீனமுள்ளவனானபடியினாலே, அறியாதவர்களுக்கும் நெறிதப்பிப்போனவர்களுக்கும் இரங்கத்தக்கவனாயிருக்கிறான்.

Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

அதினிமித்தம் அவன் ஜனங்களுடைய பாவங்களுக்காகப் பலியிடவேண்டியதுபோல, தன்னுடைய பாவங்களுக்காகவும் பலியிடவேண்டியதாயிருக்கிறது.

And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.

மேலும், ஆரோனைப்போல தேவனால் அழைக்கப்பட்டாலொழிய, ஒருவனும் இந்தக் கனமான ஊழியத்துக்குத் தானாய் ஏற்படுகிறதில்லை.

And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

அந்தப்படியே கிறிஸ்துவும் பிரதான ஆசாரியராகிறதற்குத் தம்மைத்தாமே உயர்த்தவில்லை; நீர் என்னுடைய குமாரன், இன்று நான் உம்மை ஜெநிப்பித்தேன் என்று அவரோடே சொன்னவரே அவரை உயர்த்தினார்.

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

அப்படியே வேறொரு இடத்திலும்: நீர் மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கிறீர் என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.

As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

அவர் மாம்சத்திலிருந்த நாட்களில், தம்மை மரணத்தினின்று இரட்சிக்க வல்லைமையுள்ளவரை நோக்கி, பலத்த சத்தத்தோடும் கண்ணீரோடும் விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணி, வேண்டுதல்செய்து, தமக்கு உண்டான பயபக்தியினிமித்தம் கேட்கப்பட்டு,

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

அவர் குமாரனாயிருந்தும் பட்டபாடுகளினாலே கீழ்ப்படிதலைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டு,

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

தாம் பூரணரானபின்பு, தமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிற யாவரும் நித்திய இரட்சிப்பை அடைவதற்குக் காரணராகி,

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படியான பிரதான ஆசாரியர் என்று தேவனாலே நாமம் தரிக்கப்பட்டார்.

Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

இந்த மெல்கிசேதேக்கைப்பற்றி நாம் விஸ்தாரமாய்ப் பேசலாம்; நீங்கள் கேள்வியில் மந்தமுள்ளவர்களானபடியால், அதை விளங்கப்பண்ணுகிறது அரிதாயிருக்கும்.

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

காலத்தைப் பார்த்தால், போதகராயிருக்கவேண்டிய உங்களுக்கு தேவனுடைய வாக்கியங்களின் மூல உபதேசங்களை மறுபடியும் உபதேசிக்கவேண்டியதாயிருக்கிறது; நீங்கள் பலமான ஆகாரத்தையல்ல, பாலை உண்ணத்தக்கவர்களானீர்கள்.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

பாலுண்கிறவன் குழந்தையாயிருக்கிறபடியினாலே நீதியின் வசனத்தில் பழக்கமில்லாதவனாயிருக்கிறான்.

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

பலமான ஆகாரமானது நன்மை தீமையின்னதென்று பயிற்சியினால் பகுத்தறியத்தக்கதாக முயற்சி செய்யும் ஞானேந்திரயங்களையுடையவர்களாகிய பூரண வயதுள்ளவர்களுக்கே தகும்.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 6

ஆகையால், கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றிச் சொல்லிய மூல உபதேசவசனங்களை நாம்விட்டு, செத்த கிரியைகளுக்கு நீங்கலாகும் மனந்திரும்புதல், தேவன்பேரில் வைக்கும் விசுவாசம்,

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

ஸ்நானங்களுக்கடுத்த உபதேசம், கைகளை வைக்குதல், மரித்தோரின் உயிர்த்தெழுதல், நித்திய நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு என்பவைகளாகிய அஸ்திபாரத்தை மறுபடியும் போடாமல், பூரணராகும்படி கடந்து போவோமாக.

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

தேவனுக்குச் சித்தமானால் இப்படியே செய்வோம்.

And this will we do, if God permit.

ஏனெனில், ஒருதரம் பிரகாசிப்பிக்கப்பட்டும், பரம ஈவை ருசிபார்த்தும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியைப் பெற்றும்,

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

தேவனுடைய நல்வார்த்தையையும் இனிவரும் உலகத்தின் பெலன்களையும் ருசிபார்த்தும்,

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

மறுதலித்துப்போனவர்கள், தேவனுடைய குமாரனைத் தாங்களே மறுபடியும் சிலுவையில் அறைந்து அவமானப்படுத்துகிறபடியால், மனந்திரும்புதற்கேதுவாய் அவர்களை மறுபடியும் புதுப்பிக்கிறது கூடாதகாரியம்.

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

எப்படியெனில், தன்மேல் அடிக்கடி பெய்கிற மழையைக் குடித்து, தன்னிடத்தில் பயிரிடுகிறவர்களுக்கேற்ற பயிரைமுளைப்பிக்கும் நிலமானது தேவனால் ஆசீர்வாதம் பெறும்.

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

முள்செடிகளையும் முள்பூண்டுகளையும் முளைப்பிக்கிற நிலமோ தகாததாயும் சபிக்கப்படுகிறதற்கேற்றதாயுமிருக்கிறது; சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவதே அதின் முடிவு.

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

பிரியமானவர்களே, நாங்கள் இப்படிச் சொன்னாலும், நன்மையானவைகளும் இரட்சிப்புக்குரியவைகளுமான காரியங்கள் உங்களிடத்தில் உண்டாயிருக்கிறதென்று நம்பியிருக்கிறோம்.

But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

ஏனென்றால், உங்கள் கிரியையையும், நீங்கள் பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்ததினாலும் செய்து வருகிறதினாலும் தமது நாமத்திற்காகக் காண்பித்த அன்புள்ள பிரயாசத்தையும் மறந்துவிடுகிறதற்கு தேவன் அநீதியுள்ளவரல்லவே.

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

நீங்கள் அசதியாயிராமல், வாக்குத்தத்தமான ஆசீர்வாதங்களை விசுவாசத்தினாலும் நீடிய பொறுமையினாலும் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களாயிருந்து,

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

உங்களுக்கு நம்பிக்கையின் பூரணநிச்சயமுண்டாகும்படி நீங்கள்யாவரும் முடிவுபரியந்தம் அப்படியே ஜாக்கிரதையைக் காண்பிக்கவேண்டுமென்று ஆசையாயிருக்கிறோம்.

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

ஆபிரகாமுக்கு தேவன் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினபோது, ஆணையிடும்படி தம்மிலும் பெரியவர் ஒருவருமில்லாதபடியினாலே தமதுபேரிலே தானே ஆணையிட்டு:

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

நிச்சயமாக நான் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்து, உன்னைப்பெருகவே பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன் என்றார்.

Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

அந்தப்படியே, அவன் பொறுமையாய்க் காத்திருந்து, வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டதைப் பெற்றான்.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

மனுஷர் தங்களிலும் பெரியவர்பேரில் ஆணையிடுவார்கள்; உறுதிபண்ணும்படிக்கு ஆணையிடுதலே சகல விவாதத்திற்கும் முடிவு.

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

அந்தப்படி, தேவனும் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டவைகளைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்குத் தமது ஆலோசனையின் மாறாத நிச்சயத்தைப் பரிபூரணமாய்க் காண்பிக்கும்படி சித்தமுள்ளவராய், ஓர் ஆணையினாலே அதை ஸ்திரப்படுத்தினார்.

Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

நமக்கு முன் வைக்கப்பட்ட நம்பிக்கையைப்பற்றிக்கொள்ளும்படி அடைக்கலமாய் ஓடிவந்த நமக்கு இரண்டு மாறாத விசேஷங்களினால் நிறைந்த ஆறுதலுண்டாகும்படிக்கு எவ்வளவேனும் பொய்யுரையாத தேவன் அப்படிச் செய்தார்.

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

அந்த நம்பிக்கை நமக்கு நிலையும் உறுதியும் திரைக்குள்ளாகப்போகிறதுமான ஆத்தும நங்கூரமாயிருக்கிறது.

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

நமக்கு முன்னோடினவராகிய இயேசு மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி நித்திய பிரதான ஆசாரியராய் நமக்காக அந்தத் திரைக்குள் பிரவேசித்திருக்கிறார்.

Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
