ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 30

பாவத்தோடே பாவத்தைக் கூட்டும்படி, என்னை அல்லாமல் ஆலோசனைபண்ணி, என்ஆவியை அல்லாமல் தங்களை மூடிக்கொள்ளப் பார்க்கிறவர்களும்,

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

என் வாக்கைக் கேளாமல் பார்வோனின் பெலத்தினாலே பெலக்கவும், எகிப்தின் நிழலிலே ஒதுங்கவும் வேண்டும் என்று எகிப்துக்குப் போகிறவர்களுமாகிய முரட்டாட்டமுள்ள புத்திரருக்கு ஐயோ! என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

பார்வோனுடைய பெலன் உங்களுக்கு வெட்கமாகவும் எகிப்தினுடைய நிழலொதுக்கு உங்களுக்கு இலச்சையாகவும் இருக்கும்.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

அவர்கள் பிரபுக்கள் சோவானிலேபோய், அவர்கள் ஸ்தானாபதிகள் ஆனேஸ்மட்டும் சேருகிறார்கள்.

For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

ஆனாலும் தங்கள் சகாயத்துக்கும் பிரயோஜனத்துக்கும் உதவாமல், வெட்கத்துக்கும் நிந்தைக்குமே உதவும் ஜனத்தினாலே யாவரும் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

தெற்கேபோகிற மிருகஜீவன்களின் பாரம். துஷ்டசிங்கமும், கிழச்சிங்கமும், விரியனும், பறக்கிற கொள்ளிவாய்ச்சர்ப்பமும் வருகிறதும், நெருக்கமும் இடுக்கமும் அடைவிக்கிறதுமான தேசத்துக்கு, அவர்கள் கழுதை மறிகளுடைய முதுகின்மேல் தங்கள் ஆஸ்திகளையும், ஒட்டகங்களுடைய முதுகின்மேல் தங்கள் பொக்கிஷங்களையும், தங்களுக்கு உதவாத ஜனத்தண்டைக்கு ஏற்றிக்கொண்டுபோகிறார்கள்.

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

எகிப்தியர் சகாயம்பண்ணுவது வியர்த்தமும் வீணுமாம்; ஆகையால், சும்மாயிருப்பதே அவர்களுக்குப் பெலன் என்று அதற்காகக் கூறுகிறேன்.

For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

இப்பொழுது நீ போய், இது பிற்காலத்துக்கு என்றென்றைக்கும் இருக்கும்படி, இதை அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக ஒரு பலகையில் எழுதி, ஒரு புஸ்தகத்தில் வரை.

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

இவர்கள் கலகமுள்ள ஜனங்களும், பொய்பேசுகிற பிள்ளைகளும், கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தைக் கேட்க மனதில்லாத புத்திரருமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

இவர்கள் தரிசனக்காரரை நோக்கி: தரிசனங் காணவேண்டாம் என்றும், ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரரை நோக்கி: யதார்த்தமாய் எங்களுக்குத் தரிசனஞ்சொல்லாமல், எங்களுக்கு இதமான சொற்களை உரைத்து, மாயமானவைகளைத் திருஷ்டியுங்கள் என்றும்,

Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

நீங்கள் வழியை விட்டு, பாதையினின்று விலகி, இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தரை எங்கள் முன்பாக இராமல் ஓயப்பண்ணுங்கள் என்றும் சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.

Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

நீங்கள் இந்த வார்த்தையை வெறுத்து, இடுக்கமும் தாறுமாறும் செய்கிறதை நம்பி, அதைச் சார்ந்து கொள்ளுகிறபடியால்,

Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

இந்த அக்கிரமம் உங்களுக்கு உயர்ந்த சுவரில் விழப் பிதுங்கிநிற்கிறதும், திடீரென்று சடிதியாய் இடியப்போகிறதுமான வெடிப்பைப்போல இருக்கும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

அவர்களை அவர் தப்பவிடாமல் உடையும்படி குயக்கலத்தை நொறுக்குவதுபோல அவர்களை நொறுக்குவார்; அடுப்பிலே நெருப்பு எடுக்கிறதற்கும், குளத்திலே தண்ணீர் மொள்ளுகிறதற்கும் நொறுங்கின துண்டுகளில், ஒரு ஓடாகிலும் அகப்படாதேபோகும்.

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

நீங்கள் மனந்திரும்பி அமர்ந்திருந்தால் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்; அமரிக்கையும் நம்பிக்கையுமே உங்கள் பெலனாயிருக்கும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தராயிருக்கிற கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் சொல்லுகிறார்; நீங்களோ அப்படிச் செய்ய மனதாயிராமல்;

For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

அப்படியல்ல, குதிரைகளின்மேல் ஏறி ஓடிப்போவோம் என்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியே ஓடிப்போவீர்கள், வேகமான வாகனங்களின்மேல் ஏறிப்போவோம் என்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியே உங்களைத் துரத்துகிறவர்கள் வேகமாய்த் துரத்துவார்கள்.

But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

நீங்கள் மலையுச்சியின்மேல் ஒரு கம்பத்தைப்போலவும், மேட்டின்மேல் ஒரு கொடியைப்போலவும் மீந்திருக்குமட்டாக, ஒருவன் பயமுறுத்த ஆயிரம்பேரும், ஐந்துபேர் பயமுறுத்த நீங்கள் அனைவரும் ஓடிப்போவீர்கள்.

One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.

ஆனாலும் உங்களுக்கு இரங்கும்படி கர்த்தர் காத்திருப்பார், உங்கள்மேல் மனதுருகும்படி எழுந்திருப்பார்; கர்த்தர் நீதிசெய்கிற தேவன்; அவருக்குக் காத்திருக்கிற அனைவரும் பாக்கிவான்கள்.

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

சீயோனைச் சேர்ந்த ஜனங்கள் எருசலேமில் வாசமாயிருப்பார்கள்; இனி நீ அழுதுகொண்டிராய்; உன் கூப்பிடுதலின் சத்தத்துக்கு அவர் உருக்கமாய் இரங்கி, அதைக் கேட்டவுடனே உனக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு அருளுவார்.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்குத் துன்பத்தின் அப்பத்தையும், உபத்திரவத்தின் தண்ணீரையும் கொடுத்தாலும், உன் போதகர்கள் இனி ஒருபோதும் மறைந்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள்; உன் கண்கள் உன் போதகர்களைக் காணும்.

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

நீங்கள் வலதுபுறமாய்ச் சாயும்போதும், இடதுபுறமாய்ச் சாயும்போதும்: வழி இதுவே, இதிலே நடவுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குப் பின்னாலே சொல்லும் வார்த்தையை உங்கள் காதுகள் கேட்கும்.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

உன் சுரூபங்களை மூடிய வெள்ளித்தகட்டையும், உன் விக்கிரகங்களின் பொன் ஆடையாபரணத்தையும் தீட்டாக எண்ணி, அவைகளைத் தீட்டுப்பட்ட வஸ்திரம்போல எறிந்துவிட்டு, அதைச் சீ! போ என்பாய்.

Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.

அப்பொழுது நீ நிலத்தில் விதைக்கும் உன் விதைக்கு அவர் மழையையும், நிலத்தின் பலனாகிய ஆகாரத்தையும் தருவார்; அது கொழுமையும் புஷ்டியுமாய் இருக்கும்; அக்காலத்திலே உன் ஆடுமாடுகள் விஸ்தாரமான மேய்ச்சலுள்ள ஸ்தலத்திலே மேயும்;

Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.

நிலத்தை உழுகிற எருதுகளும் கழுதைமறிகளும், முறத்தினாலும் தூற்றுக்கூடையினாலும் தூற்றப்பட்ட ருசியுள்ள கப்பிகளைத் தின்னும்.

The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

கோபுரங்கள் விழுகிற மகா சங்காரத்தின் நாளிலே, உயரமான சகலமலைகளின்மேலும், உயரமான சகலமேடுகளின்மேலும் ஆறுகளும் வாய்க்கால்களும் உண்டாகும்.

And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

கர்த்தர் தமது ஜனத்தின் முறிவைக் கட்டி, அதின் அடிக்காயத்தைக் குணமாக்கும் நாளிலே, சந்திரனுடைய வெளிச்சம் சூரியனுடைய வெளிச்சத்தைப்போலவும், சூரியனுடைய வெளிச்சம் ஏழத்தனையாய் ஏழு பகலின் வெளிச்சத்தைப்போலவும் இருக்கும்.

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

இதோ, கர்த்தருடைய நாமம் தூரத்திலிருந்து வரும்; அவருடைய கோபம் எரிகிறதும் கனன்று புகைகிறதுமாயிருக்கும்; அவருடைய உதடுகள் சினத்தால் நிறைந்து, அவருடைய நாவு பட்சிக்கிற அக்கினிபோல இருக்கும்.

Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

நாசம் என்னும் சல்லடையிலே ஜாதிகளை அரிக்கும்படிக்கு அவர் ஊதும் சுவாசம் கழுத்துமட்டும் எட்டுகிற ஆற்றுவெள்ளத்தைப்போலவும், ஜனங்களுடைய வாயிலே போட்டு அலைக்கழிக்கிற கடிவாளத்தைப்போலவும் இருக்கும்.

And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

பண்டிகை ஆசரிக்கப்படும் இராத்திரியிலே பாடுகிறதுபோலப் பாடுவீர்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய பர்வதமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் கன்மலையண்டைக்குப்போக நாகசுரத்தோடே நடந்து வருகிறபோது மகிழுகிறதுபோல மகிழுவீர்கள்.

Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

கர்த்தர் மகத்துவமானவர்; தமது சத்தத்தைக் கேட்கப்பண்ணி, உக்கிர கோபத்தினாலும், பட்சிக்கிற அக்கினிஜூவாலையினாலும், இடி பெருவெள்ளம் கல்மழையினாலும், தமது புயத்தின் வல்லமையைக் காண்பிப்பார்.

And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

அப்பொழுது தண்டாயுதத்தினால் அடித்த அசீரியன் கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்தினாலே நொறுங்குண்டு போவான்.

For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

கர்த்தர் அவன்மேல் சுமத்தும் ஆக்கினைத்தண்டம் செல்லுமிடமெங்கும், மேளங்களும் வீணைகளும் அதினுடன் போகும்; கொடிய யுத்தங்களினால் அவனை எதிர்த்து யுத்தஞ்செய்வார்.

And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

தோப்பேத் ஏற்கனவே ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டது; ராஜாவுக்கு அது ஆயத்தப்படுத்தப்பட்டது; அதை ஆழமும் விசாலமுமாக்கினார்; வேகும்படி அக்கினியும் மிகுந்த விறகுமுண்டு: கர்த்தரின் சுவாசம் கெந்தகத் தீயைப்போல அதைக் கொளுத்தும்.

For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 31

சகாயமடையும்படி இஸ்ரவேலுடைய பரிசுத்தரை நோக்காமலும், கர்த்தரைத் தேடாமலும், எகிப்துக்குப்போய், குதிரைகள்மேல் நம்பிக்கைவைத்து, இரதங்கள் அநேகமாயிருப்பதினால் அவைகளை நாடி, குதிரைவீரர் மகா பெலசாலிகளாயிருப்பதினால் அவர்களை நம்பிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ!

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

அவரும் ஞானமுள்ளவர்; அவர் தம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளை மறுக்காமல், தீங்கு வரப்பண்ணி, தீமை செய்கிறவர்களின் வீட்டுக்கும், அக்கிரமக்காரருக்குச் சகாயஞ்செய்கிறவர்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக எழும்புவார்.

Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

எகிப்தியர் தெய்வம் அல்ல, மனுஷர்தானே; அவர்களுடைய குதிரைகள் ஆவியல்ல, மாம்சந்தானே; கர்த்தர் தமது கரத்தை நீட்டுவார், அப்பொழுது சகாயம் செய்கிறவனும் இடறி, சகாயம் பெறுகிறவனும் விழுந்து, அனைவரும் ஏகமாய் அழிந்துபோவார்கள்.

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

கர்த்தர் என்னுடனே சொன்னது: சிங்கமும் பாலசிங்கமும் தங்கள் இரையைப் பிடித்திருக்கும்போது கெர்ச்சித்து, தங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கூப்பிடுகிற திரளான மேய்ப்பரின் சத்தத்தினாலே கலங்காமலும், அவர்கள் அமளியினாலே பணியாமலும் இருக்கிறதுபோல, சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சீயோன் மலைக்காகவும், அதின் மேட்டுக்காகவும் யுத்தம்பண்ண இறங்குவார்.

For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

பறந்து காக்கிற பட்சிகளைப்போல, சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் எருசலேமின்மேல் ஆதரவாக இருப்பார்; அவர் அதைக் காத்துத் தப்பப்பண்ணுவார்; அவர் கடந்துவந்து அதை விடுவிப்பார்.

As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரே, நீங்கள் முற்றிலும் விட்டுவிலகினவரிடத்தில் திரும்புங்கள்.

Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

உங்களுக்குப் பாவமாக உங்கள் கைகள் செய்திருந்த வெள்ளி விக்கிரகங்களையும், பொன் விக்கிரகங்களையும், உங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவரும் அக்காலத்திலே வெறுத்துவிடுவீர்கள்.

For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

அப்பொழுது வீரனுடைய பட்டயம் அல்லாத பட்டயத்தாலே அசீரியன் விழுவான்; நீசனுடைய பட்டயம் அல்லாத பட்டயமே அவனைப் பட்சிக்கும்; அவன் பட்டயத்துக்குத் தப்ப ஓடுவான்; அவன் வாலிபர் கலைந்துபோவார்கள்.

Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.

அவனுடைய கன்மலை பயத்தினால் ஒழிந்துபோம், அவர்களுடைய பிரபுக்கள் கொடியைக் கண்டு கலங்குவார்கள் என்பதை, சீயோனில் நெருப்பையும் எருசலேமில் சூளையையுமுடைய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 32

இதோ, ஒரு ராஜா நீதியாக அரசாளுவார்; பிரபுக்களும் நியாயமாகத் துரைத்தனம்பண்ணுவார்கள்.

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

அவர் காற்றுக்கு ஒதுக்காகவும், பெருவெள்ளத்துக்குப் புகலிடமாகவும், வறண்ட நிலத்துக்கு நீர்க்கால்களாகவும், விடாய்த்த பூமிக்குப் பெருங்கன்மலையின் நிழலாகவும் இருப்பார்.

And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

அப்பொழுது காண்கிறவர்களின் கண்கள் மங்கலாயிராது; கேட்கிறவர்களின் செவிகள் கவனித்தே இருக்கும்.

And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

பதற்றமுள்ளவர்களின் இருதயம் அறிவை உணர்ந்துகொள்ளும், தெற்றுவாயருடைய நாவு தடையின்றித் தெளிவாய்ப் பேசும்.

The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

மூடன் இனி தயாளன் என்று மதிக்கப்படான்; லோபி இனி உதாரன் என்று சொல்லப்படுவதுமில்லை.

The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

ஏனென்றால் மூடன், மூடத்தனத்தைப் பேசுகிறான்; அவன் இருதயம் அநியாயத்தை நடப்பிக்கும்; அவன் மாயம்பண்ணி, கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாய் விபரீதம் பேசி, பசியுள்ள ஆத்துமாவை வெறுமையாக வைத்து, தாகமுள்ளவனுக்குத் தாகந்தீர்க்காதிருக்கிறான்.

For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

லோபியின் எத்தனங்களும் பொல்லாதவைகள்; ஏழைகள் நியாயமாய்ப் பேசும்போது, அவன் கள்ளவார்த்தைகளாலே எளியவர்களைக் கெடுக்கும்படி தீவினைகளை யோசிக்கிறான்.

The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

தயாளகுணமுள்ளவன் தயாளமானவைகளை யோசிக்கிறான், தயாளமானவைகளிலே நிலைத்தும் இருக்கிறான்.

But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

சுகஜீவிகளாகிய ஸ்திரீகளே, எழுந்திருந்து என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளுங்கள்; நிர்விசாரமான குமாரத்திகளே, என் வசனத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.

Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

நிர்விசாரிகளே, ஒரு வருஷமும் சில நாட்களுமாய்த் தத்தளிப்பீர்கள்; திராட்சப்பலன் அற்றுப்போகும்; அறுப்புக்காலம் வராது.

Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

சுகஜீவிகளே, நடுங்குங்கள்; நிர்விசாரிகளே, தத்தளியுங்கள்; உடையை உரிந்து களைந்துபோட்டு, அரையில் இரட்டைக் கட்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

செழிப்பான வயல்களினிமித்தமும் கனிதரும் திராட்சச் செடிகளினிமித்தமும் மாரடித்துப் புலம்புவார்கள்.

They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

என் ஜனத்தினுடைய நிலத்திலும், களிகூர்ந்திருந்த நகரத்திலுள்ள சந்தோஷம் நிறைந்த எல்லா வீடுகளிலும், முட்செடியும் நெரிஞ்சிலும் முளைக்கும்.

Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

அரமனை பாழாக விடப்படும், ஜனம் நிறைந்த நகரம் வெறுமையாகும், மேடும் துருக்கமும் என்றைக்கும் கெபிகளாகும், அவைகள் காட்டுக்கழுதைகள் களிக்கும் இடமாயும் மந்தைகளுக்கு மேய்ச்சலிடமாயும் இருக்கும்.

Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

உன்னதத்திலிருந்து நம்மேல் ஆவி ஊற்றப்படுமட்டும் அப்படியே இருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது வனாந்தரம் செழிப்பான வயல்வெளியாகும்; செழிப்பான வயல்வெளி காடாக எண்ணப்படும்.

Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

வனாந்தரத்திலே நியாயம் வாசமாயிருக்கும், செழிப்பான வயல்வெளியிலே நீதி தங்கித்தரிக்கும்.

Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

நீதியின் கிரியை சமாதானமும், நீதியின் பலன் என்றுமுள்ள அமரிக்கையும் சுகமுமாம்.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

என் ஜனம் சமாதான தாபரங்களிலும், நிலையான வாசஸ்தலங்களிலும், அமைதியாய்த் தங்கும் இடங்களிலும் குடியிருக்கும்.

And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

ஆனாலும் காடு அழிய கல்மழை பெய்யும், அந்த நகரம் மகா தாழ்வாய்த் தாழ்ந்துபோகும்.

When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

மாடுகளையும் கழுதைகளையும் நடத்திக்கொண்டுபோய், நீர்வளம் பொருந்திய இடங்களிலெல்லாம் விதை விதைக்கிற நீங்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.

அப்போஸ்தலர் அத்தியாயம் 8

அவனைக் கொலைசெய்கிறதற்குச் சவுலும் சம்மதித்திருந்தான். அக்காலத்திலே எருசலேமிலுள்ள சபைக்கு மிகுந்த துன்பம் உண்டாயிற்று. அப்போஸ்தலர்தவிர, மற்ற யாவரும் யூதேயா சமாரியா தேசங்களில் சிதறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.

And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

தேவபக்தியுள்ள மனுஷர் ஸ்தேவானை எடுத்து அடக்கம்பண்ணி, அவனுக்காக மிகவும் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

சவுல் வீடுகள்தோறும் நுழைந்து, புருஷரையும் ஸ்திரீகளையும் இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், காவலில் போடுவித்து, சபையைப் பாழாக்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

சிதறிப்போனவர்கள் எங்குந்திரிந்து, சுவிசேஷவசனத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்தார்கள்.

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பென்பவன் சமாரியாவிலுள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்திற்குப் போய், அங்குள்ளவர்களுக்குக் கிறிஸ்துவைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கித்தான்.

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

பிலிப்பு செய்த அதிசயங்களை ஜனங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு கண்டு, அவனால் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகளை ஒருமனப்பட்டுக் கவனித்தார்கள்.

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

அநேகரிலிருந்த அசுத்தஆவிகள் மிகுந்த சத்தத்தோடே கூப்பிட்டு அவர்களை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டது. அநேகந்திமிர்வாதக்காரரும் சப்பாணிகளும் குணமாக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

அந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே மிகுந்த சந்தோஷம் உண்டாயிற்று.

And there was great joy in that city.

சீமோன் என்று பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் அந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே மாயவித்தைக்காரனாயிருந்து, தன்னை ஒரு பெரியவனென்று சொல்லி, சமாரியா நாட்டு ஜனங்களைப் பிரமிக்கப்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

தேவனுடைய பெரிதான சக்தி இவன்தான் என்று எண்ணி, சிறியோர் பெரியோர் யாவரும் அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்துவந்தார்கள்.

To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

அவன் அநேக காலமாய்த் தன்னுடைய மாயவித்தைகளினாலே அவர்களைப் பிரமிக்கப்பண்ணினதினால் அவனை மதித்துவந்தார்கள்.

And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்துக்கும் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நாமத்துக்கும் ஏற்றவைகளைக்குறித்து, பிலிப்பு பிரசங்கித்ததை அவர்கள் விசுவாசித்தபோது, புருஷரும் ஸ்திரீகளும் ஞானஸ்நானம்பெற்றார்கள்.

But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

அப்பொழுது சீமோனும் விசுவாசித்து ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, பிலிப்பைப்பற்றிக்கொண்டு, அவனால் நடந்த அடையாளங்களையும் பெரிய அற்புதங்களையும் கண்டு பிரமித்தான்.

Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

சமாரியர் தேவவசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதை எருசலேமிலுள்ள அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு, பேதுருவையும் யோவானையும் அவர்களிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்.

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

இவர்கள் வந்தபொழுது அவர்களில் ஒருவனும் பரிசுத்தஆவியைப் பெறாமல் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலே ஞானஸ்நானத்தைமாத்திரம் பெற்றிருந்தவர்களாகக் கண்டு,

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

அவர்கள் பரிசுத்தஆவியைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்காக ஜெபம்பண்ணி,

For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

அவர்கள்மேல் கைகளை வைத்தார்கள், அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் பரிசுத்தஆவியைப் பெற்றார்கள்.

Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

அப்போஸ்தலர் தங்கள் கைகளை அவர்கள்மேல் வைத்ததினால் பரிசுத்தஆவி தந்தருளப்படுகிறதைச் சீமோன் கண்டபோது, அவர்களிடத்தில் பணத்தைக் கொண்டுவந்து:

And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

நான் எவன்மேல் என் கைகளை வைக்கிறேனோ, அவன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியைப் பெறத்தக்கதாக எனக்கும் இந்த அதிகாரத்தைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.

Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

பேதுரு அவனை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய வரத்தைப் பணத்தினாலே சம்பாதித்துக்கொள்ளலாமென்று நீ நினைத்தபடியால் உன் பணம் உன்னோடேகூட நாசமாய்ப் போகக்கடவது.

But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

உன் இருதயம் தேவனுக்குமுன்பாகச் செம்மையாயிராதபடியால், இந்த விஷயத்திலே உனக்குப் பங்குமில்லை பாகமுமில்லை.

Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

ஆகையால் நீ உன் துர்க்குணத்தைவிட்டு மனந்திரும்பி, தேவனை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்; ஒருவேளை உன் இருதயத்தின் எண்ணம் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படலாம்.

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

நீ கசப்பான பிச்சிலும் பாவக்கட்டிலும் அகப்பட்டிருக்கிறதாகக் காண்கிறேன் என்றான்.

For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

அதற்குச் சீமோன்: நீங்கள் சொன்ன காரியங்களில் ஒன்றும் எனக்கு நேரிடாதபடிக்கு, எனக்காகக் கர்த்தரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றான்.

Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

இவ்விதமாய் அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வசனத்தைச் சாட்சியாய் அறிவித்துச் சொன்னபின்பு, சமாரியருடைய அநேக கிராமங்களில் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்து, எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பி வந்தார்கள்.

And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

பின்பு கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் பிலிப்பை நோக்கி: நீ எழுந்து, தெற்கு முகமாய் எருசலேமிலிருந்து காசா பட்டணத்துக்குப் போகிற வனாந்தரமார்க்கமாய்ப் போ என்றான்.

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

அந்தப்படி அவன் எழுந்துபோனான். அப்பொழுது எத்தியோப்பியருடைய ராஜஸ்திரீயாகிய கந்தாகே என்பவளுக்கு மந்திரியும் அவளுடைய பொக்கிஷமெல்லாவற்றிற்கும் தலைவனுமாயிருந்த எத்தியோப்பியனாகிய ஒருவன் பணிந்துகொள்ளும்படி எருசலேமுக்கு வந்திருந்து;

And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

ஊருக்குத் திரும்பிப்போகும்போது, தன் இரதத்திலே உட்கார்ந்து, ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் ஆகமத்தை வாசித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான்.

Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

ஆவியானவர்: நீ போய், அந்த இரதத்துடனே சேர்ந்துகொள் என்று பிலிப்புடனே சொன்னார்.

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பு ஓடிப்போய்ச்சேர்ந்து, அவன் ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் ஆகமத்தை வாசிக்கிறதைக் கேட்டு: நீர் வாசிக்கிறவைகளின் கருத்து உமக்குத் தெரியுமா என்றான்.

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

அதற்கு அவன்: ஒருவன் எனக்குத் தெரிவிக்காவிட்டால் அது எனக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும் என்று சொல்லி; பிலிப்பு ஏறி, தன்னோடே உட்காரும்படி அவனை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

அவன் வாசித்த வேதவாக்கியம் என்னவென்றால்: அவர் ஒரு ஆட்டைப்போல அடிக்கப்படுவதற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்; மயிர் கத்தரிக்கிறவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சத்தமிடாதிருக்கிற ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைப்போல அவர் தமது வாயைத் திறவாதிருந்தார்.

The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

அவர் தம்மைத் தாழ்த்தினபோது அவருடைய நியாயம் எடுத்துப்போடப்பட்டது; அவருடைய ஜீவன் பூமியிலிருந்து எடுபட்டுப்போயிற்று; அவருடைய வம்சத்தை யாராலே சொல்லிமுடியும் என்பதே.

In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

மந்திரி பிலிப்பை நோக்கி: தீர்க்கதரிசி யாரைக்குறித்து இதைச் சொல்லுகிறார்? தம்மைக்குறித்தோ, வேறொருவரைக்குறித்தோ? எனக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.

And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பு பேசத்தொடங்கி, இந்த வேதவாக்கியத்தை முன்னிட்டு இயேசுவைக்குறித்து அவனுக்குப் பிரசங்கித்தான்.

Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

இவ்விதமாய் அவர்கள் வழிநடந்துபோகையில், தண்ணீருள்ள ஓரிடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது மந்திரி: இதோ, தண்ணீர் இருக்கிறதே, நான் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுகிறதற்குத் தடையென்ன என்றான்.

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

அதற்குப் பிலிப்பு: நீர் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் விசுவாசித்தால் தடையில்லையென்றான். அப்பொழுது அவன்: இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைத் தேவனுடைய குமாரனென்று விசுவாசிக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி;

And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

இரதத்தை நிறுத்தச்சொன்னான். அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பும் மந்திரியும் ஆகிய இருவரும் தண்ணீரில் இறங்கினார்கள், பிலிப்பு அவனுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்தான்.

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

அவர்கள் தண்ணீரிலிருந்து கரையேறினபொழுது, கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் பிலிப்பைக் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார். மந்திரி அப்புறம் அவனைக் காணாமல், சந்தோஷத்தோடே தன் வழியே போனான்.

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

பிலிப்பு ஆசோத்திலே காணப்பட்டு, அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, செசரியாவுக்கு வருகிறவரையில் சகல பட்டணங்களிலும் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்துக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.

But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
