ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 11

ஈசாயென்னும் அடிமரத்திலிருந்து ஒரு துளிர் தோன்றி, அவன் வேர்களிலிருந்து ஒரு கிளை எழும்பிச் செழிக்கும்.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

ஞானத்தையும் உணர்வையும் அருளும் ஆவியும், ஆலோசனையையும் பெலனையும் அருளும் ஆவியும், அறிவையும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுகிற பயத்தையும் அருளும் ஆவியுமாகிய கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் அவர்மேல் தங்கியிருப்பார்.

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதல் அவருக்கு உகந்த வாசனையாயிருக்கும்; அவர் தமது கண் கண்டபடி நியாயந்தீர்க்காமலும், தமது காது கேட்டபடி தீர்ப்புச்செய்யாமலும்,

And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

நீதியின்படி ஏழைகளை நியாயம்விசாரித்து, யதார்த்தத்தின்படி பூமியிலுள்ள சிறுமையானவர்களுக்குத் தீர்ப்புச்செய்து, பூமியைத் தமது வாக்கின் கோலால் அடித்து, தமது வாயின் சுவாசத்தால் துன்மார்க்கரைச் சங்கரிப்பார்.

But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

நீதி அவருக்கு அரைக்கட்டும், சத்தியம் அவருக்கு இடைக்கச்சையுமாயிருக்கும்.

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

அப்பொழுது ஓனாய் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியோடே தங்கும், புலி வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டியோடே படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; கன்றுக்குட்டியும், பாலசிங்கமும், காளையும், ஒருமித்திருக்கும்; ஒரு சிறு பையன் அவைகளை நடத்துவான்.

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

பசுவும் கரடியும் கூடிமேயும், அவைகளின் குட்டிகள் ஒருமித்துப்படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; சிங்கம் மாட்டைப்போல் வைக்கோல் தின்னும்.

And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

பால் குடிக்குங்குழந்தை விரியன் பாம்பு வளையின்மேல் விளையாடும், பால் மறந்த பிள்ளை கட்டுவிரியன் புற்றிலே தன் கையை வைக்கும்.

And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

என் பரிசுத்த பர்வதமெங்கும் தீங்குசெய்வாருமில்லை; கேடுசெய்வாருமில்லை; சமுத்திரம் ஜலத்தினால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறதுபோல், பூமி கர்த்தரை அறிகிற அறிவினால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

அக்காலத்திலே, ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடியாக நிற்கும் ஈசாயின் வேருக்காக ஜாதிகள் விசாரித்துக் கேட்பார்கள்; அவருடைய தாபரஸ்தலம் மகிமையாயிருக்கும்.

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

அக்காலத்திலே, ஆண்டவர் அசீரியாவிலும், எகிப்திலும், பத்ரோசிலும், எத்தியோப்பியாவிலும், பெர்சியாவிலும், சிநேயாரிலும், ஆமாத்திலும், சமுத்திரத் தீவுகளிலும், தம்முடைய ஜனத்தில் மீதியானவர்களை மீட்டுக்கொள்ளத் திரும்ப இரண்டாம்விசை தமது கரத்தை நீட்டி,

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

எப்பிராயீமின் பொறாமை நீங்கும், யூதாவின் சத்துருக்கள் சங்கரிக்கப்படுவார்கள்; எப்பிராயீம் யூதாவின்மேல் பொறாமையாயிரான், யூதா எப்பிராயீமைத் துன்பப்படுத்தான்.

The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

எகிப்தின் சமுத்திரமுனையைக் கர்த்தர் முற்றிலும் அழித்து, தம்முடைய காற்றின் வலுமையினால் நதியின்மேல் தமது கையை நீட்டி, ஏழாறுகளாகப் பிரித்து, ஜனங்கள் கால்நனையாமல் கடந்துபோகும்படி பண்ணுவார்.

And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.

இஸ்ரவேலர் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டநாளில் அவர்களுக்கு இருந்ததுபோல, அசீரியாவிலே அவருடைய ஜனத்தில் மீதியானவர்களுக்கு ஒரு பெரும்பாதையிருக்கும்.

And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 12

அக்காலத்திலே நீ சொல்வது: கர்த்தாவே, நான் உம்மைத் துதிப்பேன்; நீர் என்மேல் கோபமாயிருந்தீர்; ஆனாலும் உம்முடைய கோபம் நீங்கிற்று; நீர் என்னைத் தேற்றுகிறீர்.

And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

இதோ, தேவனே என் இரட்சிப்பு; நான் பயப்படாமல் நம்பிக்கையாயிருப்பேன்; கர்த்தராகிய யேகோவா என் பெலனும், என் கீதமுமானவர்; அவரே எனக்கு இரட்சிப்புமானவர்.

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

நீங்கள் இரட்சிப்பின் ஊற்றுகளிலிருந்து மகிழ்ச்சியோடே தண்ணீர் மொண்டுகொள்வீர்கள்.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

அக்காலத்திலே நீங்கள் சொல்வது: கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவர் நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுங்கள்; அவருடைய செய்கைகளை ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அறிவியுங்கள்; அவருடைய நாமம் உயர்ந்ததென்று பிரஸ்தாபம்பண்ணுங்கள்.

And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

கர்த்தரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுங்கள், அவர் மகத்துவமான கிரியைகளைச் செய்தார்; இது பூமியெங்கும் அறியப்படக்கடவது என்பீர்கள்.

Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

சீயோனில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவளே, நீ சத்தமிட்டுக் கெம்பீரி; இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தர் உன் நடுவில் பெரியவராயிருக்கிறார்.

Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 13

ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா பாபிலோன்மேல் வரக்கண்டபாரம்.

The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

உயர்ந்த பர்வதத்தின்மேல் கொடியேற்றுங்கள்; உரத்த சத்தமிட்டு ஜனங்களை வரவழையுங்கள்; அவர்கள் பிரபுக்களின் வாசல்களுக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதற்குச் சைகை காட்டுங்கள்.

Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

நான் பரிசுத்தமாக்கினவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளை கொடுத்தேன்; என் கோபத்தை நிறைவேற்ற என் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளை அழைத்தும் இருக்கிறேன்; அவர்கள் என் மகத்துவத்தினாலே களிகூருகிறவர்கள் என்கிறார்.

I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.

திரளான ஜனங்களின் சத்தத்துக்கொத்த வெகு கூட்டத்தின் இரைச்சலும், கூட்டப்பட்ட ஜாதிகளுடைய ராஜ்யங்களின் அமளியான இரைச்சலும் மலைகளில் கேட்கப்படுகிறது; சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் யுத்தராணுவத்தை இலக்கம்பார்க்கிறார்.

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.

கர்த்தர் வருகிறார்; அவருடைய கோபத்தின் ஆயுதங்களும், தேசத்தையெல்லாம் அழிக்க, வானங்கவிழ்ந்த கடையாந்தர தேசத்திலிருந்து வருகிறது.

They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

அலறுங்கள், கர்த்தரின் நாள் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறது; அது சர்வவல்லவரிடத்திலிருந்து மகா சங்காரமாய் வரும்.

Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

ஆதலால் எல்லாக் கைகளும் நெகிழ்ந்து, எல்லா மனுஷரின் இருதயமும் கரைந்துபோகும்.

Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:

அவர்கள் திகிலடைவார்கள்; வேதனைகளும் வாதைகளும் அவர்களைப்பிடிக்கும்; பிள்ளை பெறுகிறவளைப்போல வேதனைப்படுவார்கள்; ஒருவரையொருவர் பிரமித்துப்பார்ப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் முகங்கள் நெருப்பான முகங்களாயிருக்கும்.

And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

இதோ, தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கி, அதின் பாவிகளை அதிலிருந்து அழிப்பதற்காகக் கர்த்தருடைய நாள் கடூரமும், மூர்க்கமும், உக்கிரகோபமுமாய் வருகிறது.

Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

வானத்தின் நட்சத்திரங்களும் ராசிகளும் ஒளி கொடாதிருக்கும்; சூரியன் உதிக்கையில் இருண்டுபோகும்; சந்திரன் ஒளி கொடாதிருக்கும்.

For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

பாவத்தினிமித்தம் உலகத்தையும், அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தம் துன்மார்க்கரையும் நான் தண்டித்து, அகங்காரரின் பெருமையை ஒழியப்பண்ணி, கொடியரின் இடும்பைத் தாழ்த்துவேன்.

And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

புருஷனைப் பசும்பொன்னிலும், மனுஷனை ஓப்பீரின் தங்கத்திலும் அபூர்வமாக்குவேன்.

I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

இதினிமித்தம் சேனைகளின் கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரத்தினால் அவருடைய கடுங்கோபத்தின் நாளிலே பூமி தன்னிடத்தைவிட்டு நீங்கும்படி வானத்தை அதிரப்பண்ணுவேன்.

Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

துரத்தப்பட்ட வெளிமானைப்போலும், யாரும் சேர்க்காத ஆட்டைப்போலும் இருப்பார்கள்; அவரவர் தங்கள் ஜனத்தண்டைக்குப்போக முகத்தைத்திருப்பி, அவரவர் தங்கள் தேசத்துக்கு ஓடிப்போவார்கள்.

And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.

அகப்பட்டவனெவனும் குத்துண்டு, அவர்களைச் சேர்ந்திருந்தவனெவனும் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவான்.

Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.

அவர்கள் குழந்தைகள் அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக மோதியடிக்கப்படும்; அவர்கள் வீடுகள் கொள்ளையிடப்படும்; அவர்கள் மனைவிகள் அவமானப்படுவார்கள்.

Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

இதோ, நான் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் மேதியரை எழுப்புவேன்; அவர்கள் வெள்ளியை மதியாமலும், பொன்னின்மேல் பிரியப்படாமலும்,

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

வில்லுகளால் இளைஞரைச் சிதைத்துவிடுவார்கள்; கர்ப்பக்கனியின்மேல் அவர்கள் இரங்குவதில்லை; அவர்கள் கண் பிள்ளைகளைத் தப்பவிடுவதுமில்லை.

Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.

ராஜ்யங்களுக்குள் அலங்காரமும், கல்தேயருடைய பிரதான மகிமையுமாகிய பாபிலோனானது தேவனால் சோதோமும் கொமோராவும் கவிழ்க்கப்பட்டதுபோல கவிழ்க்கப்படும்.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

இனி ஒருபோதும், அதில் ஒருவரும் குடியேறுவதுமில்லை, தலைமுறைதோறும் அதில் ஒருவரும் தங்கித் தரிப்பதுமில்லை; அங்கே அரபியன் கூடாரம் போடுவதுமில்லை; அங்கே மேய்ப்பர் மந்தையை மறிப்பதுமில்லை.

It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

காட்டுமிருகங்கள் அங்கே படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; ஊளையிடும் பிராணிகள் அவர்கள் வீடுகளை நிரப்பும், கோட்டான்கள் அங்கே குடிகொள்ளும்; காட்டாடு அங்கே துள்ளும்.

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

அவர்கள் பாழான மாளிகைகளில் ஓரிகள் ஊளையிடும்; வலுசர்ப்பங்கள் அவர்கள் செல்விக்கையான அரமனைகளில் ஏகமாய்க் கூடும்; அதின் காலம் சீக்கிரம் வரும், அதின் நாட்கள் நீடித்திராது என்கிறார்.

And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

அப்போஸ்தலர் அத்தியாயம் 1

தெயோப்பிலுவே, இயேசுவானவர் தாம் தெரிந்துகொண்ட அப்போஸ்தலருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே கட்டளையிட்டபின்பு,

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

அவர் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட நாள்வரைக்கும் செய்யவும் உபதேசிக்கவும் தொடங்கின எல்லாவற்றையுங்குறித்து, முதலாம் பிரபந்தத்தை உண்டுபண்ணினேன்.

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

அவர் பாடுபட்டபின்பு, நாற்பது நாளளவும் அப்போஸ்தலருக்குத் தரிசனமாகி, தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்துக்குரியவைகளை அவர்களுடனே பேசி, அநேகம் தெளிவான திருஷ்டாந்தங்களினாலே அவர்களுக்குத் தம்மை உயிரோடிருக்கிறவராகக் காண்பித்தார்.

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

அன்றியும், அவர் அவர்களுடனே கூடிவந்திருக்கும்போது, அவர்களை நோக்கி: யோவான் ஜலத்தினாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுத்தான்; நீங்கள் சில நாளுக்குள்ளே பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுவீர்கள்.

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

ஆகையால் நீங்கள் எருசலேமை விட்டுப் போகாமல் என்னிடத்தில் கேள்விப்பட்ட பிதாவின் வாக்குத்தத்தம் நிறைவேறக் காத்திருங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிட்டார்.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

அப்பொழுது கூடிவந்திருந்தவர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இக்காலத்திலா இராஜ்யத்தை இஸ்ரவேலுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

அதற்கு அவர்: பிதாவானவர் தம்முடைய ஆதீனத்திலே வைத்திருக்கிற காலங்களையும் வேளைகளையும் அறிகிறது உங்களுக்கு அடுத்ததல்ல.

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

பரிசுத்த ஆவி உங்களிடத்தில் வரும்போது நீங்கள் பெலனடைந்து, எருசலேமிலும், யூதேயா முழுவதிலும், சமாரியாவிலும், பூமியின் கடைசிப்பரியந்தமும், எனக்குச் சாட்சிகளாயிருப்பீர்கள் என்றார்.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

இவைகளை அவர் சொன்னபின்பு, அவர்கள் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், உயர எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டார்; அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு மறைவாக ஒரு மேகம் அவரை எடுத்துக்கொண்டது.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

அவர் போகிறபோது அவர்கள் வானத்தை அண்ணாந்துபார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், இதோ, வெண்மையான வஸ்திரந்தரித்தவர்கள் இரண்டுபேர் அவர்களருகே நின்று:

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

கலிலேயராகிய மனுஷரே, நீங்கள் ஏன் வானத்தை அண்ணாந்துபார்த்து நிற்கிறீர்கள்? உங்களிடத்தினின்று வானத்துக்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட இந்த இயேசுவானவர் எப்படி உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக வானத்துக்கு எழுந்தருளிப்போனாரோ, அப்படியே மறுபடியும் வருவார் என்றார்கள்.

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் எருசலேமுக்குச் சமீபமாய் ஒரு ஓய்வுநாள் பிரயாணதூரத்திலிருக்கிற ஒலிவமலை என்னப்பட்ட மலையிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

அவர்கள் அங்கே வந்தபோது மேல்வீட்டில் ஏறினார்கள்; அதில் பேதுருவும், யாக்கோபும், யோவானும், அந்திரேயாவும், பிலிப்பும், தோமாவும், பர்த்தொலொமேயும், மத்தேயும், அல்பேயுவின் குமாரனாகிய யாக்கோபும், செலோத்தே என்னப்பட்ட சீமோனும், யாக்கோபின் சகோதரனாகிய யூதாவும் தங்கியிருந்தார்கள்.

And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

அங்கே இவர்களெல்லாரும், ஸ்திரீகளோடும் இயேசுவின் தாயாகிய மரியாளோடும், அவருடைய சகோதரரோடுங்கூட ஒருமனப்பட்டு, ஜெபத்திலும் வேண்டுதலிலும் தரித்திருந்தார்கள்.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

அந்நாட்களிலே, சீஷர்களில் ஏறக்குறைய நூற்றிருபதுபேர் கூடியிருந்தபோது, அவர்கள் நடுவிலே பேதுரு எழுந்து நின்று:

சகோதரரே, இயேசுவைப் பிடித்தவர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டின யூதாசைக்குறித்துப் பரிசுத்த ஆவி தாவீதின் வாக்கினால் முன் சொன்ன வேதவாக்கியம் நிறைவேறவேண்டியதாயிருந்தது.

Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

அவன் எங்களில் ஒருவனாக எண்ணப்பட்டு, இந்த ஊழியத்திலே பங்குபெற்றவனாயிருந்தான்.

அநீதத்தின் கூலியினால் அவன் ஒரு நிலத்தைச் சம்பாதித்து, தலைகீழாக விழுந்தான்; அவன் வயிறுவெடித்து, குடல்களெல்லாம் சரிந்துபோயிற்று.

Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

இது எருசலேமிலுள்ள குடிகள் யாவருக்கும் தெரிந்திருக்கிறது; அதினாலே அந்த நிலம் அவர்களுடைய பாஷையிலே இரத்தநிலம் என்று அர்த்தங்கொள்ளும் அக்கெல்தமா என்னப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

சங்கீத புஸ்தகத்திலே: அவனுடைய வாசஸ்தலம் பாழாகக்கடவது, ஒருவனும் அதில் வாசம்பண்ணாதிருப்பானாக என்றும்; அவனுடைய கண்காணிப்பை வேறொருவன் பெறக்கடவன் என்றும் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

ஆதலால், யோவான் ஞானஸ்நானம்கொடுத்த நாள்முதற்கொண்டு, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவானவர் நம்மிடத்திலிருந்து உயர எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட நாள்வரைக்கும்,

Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

அவர் நம்மிடத்தில் சஞ்சரித்திருந்த காலங்களிலெல்லாம் எங்களுடனேகூட இருந்த மனுஷர்களில் ஒருவன் அவர் உயிரோடெழுந்ததைக்குறித்து, எங்களுடனேகூடச் சாட்சியாக ஏற்படுத்தப்படவேண்டும் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் யுஸ்து என்னும் மறுநாமமுள்ள பர்சபா என்னப்பட்ட யோசேப்பும் மத்தியாவும் ஆகிய இவ்விரண்டுபேரையும் நிறுத்தி:

எல்லாருடைய இருதயங்களையும் அறிந்திருக்கிற கர்த்தாவே, யூதாஸ் என்பவன் தனக்குரிய இடத்துக்குப் போகும்படி இழந்துபோன இந்த ஊழியத்திலும் இந்த அப்போஸ்தலப்பட்டத்திலும் பங்கு பெறுவதற்காக,

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

இவ்விரண்டு பேரில் தேவரீர் தெரிந்துகொண்டவனை எங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்தருளும் என்று ஜெபம்பண்ணி;

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

பின்பு, அவர்களைக்குறித்துச் சீட்டுப்போட்டார்கள்; சீட்டு மத்தியாவின் பேருக்கு விழுந்தது; அப்பொழுது அவன் பதினொரு அப்போஸ்தலருடனே சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டான்.

And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
