ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 6

உசியா ராஜா மரணமடைந்த வருஷத்தில், ஆண்டவர் உயரமும் உன்னதமுமான சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கக்கண்டேன்; அவருடைய வஸ்திரத்தொங்கலால் தேவாலயம் நிறைந்திருந்தது.

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

சேராபீன்கள் அவருக்கு மேலாக நின்றார்கள்; அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனுக்கும் அவ்வாறு செட்டைகளிருந்தன; அவனவன் இரண்டு செட்டைகளால் தன்தன் முகத்தை மூடி, இரண்டு செட்டைகளால் தன்தன் கால்களை மூடி, இரண்டு செட்டைகளால் பறந்து;

Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் பரிசுத்தர், பரிசுத்தர், பரிசுத்தர், பூமியனைத்தும் அவருடைய மகிமையால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது என்று கூப்பிட்டுச் சொன்னார்கள்.

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

கூப்பிடுகிறவர்களின் சத்தத்தால் வாசல்களின் நிலைகள் அசைந்து, ஆலயம் புகையினால் நிறைந்தது.

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

அப்பொழுது நான்: ஐயோ! அதமானேன், நான் அசுத்த உதடுகளுள்ள மனுஷன், அசுத்த உதடுகளுள்ள ஜனங்களின் நடுவில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவன்; சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ராஜாவை என் கண்கள் கண்டதே என்றேன்.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

அப்பொழுது சேராபீன்களில் ஒருவன் பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து, தன் கையிலே பிடித்த குறட்டால் ஒரு நெருப்புத் தழலை எடுத்து, என்னிடத்தில் பறந்துவந்து,

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

அதினால் என் வாயைத் தொட்டு: இதோ, இது உன் உதடுகளைத் தொட்டதினால் உன் அக்கிரமம் நீங்கி, உன் பாவம் நிவிர்த்தியானது என்றான்.

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

பின்பு: யாரை நான் அனுப்புவேன், யார் நமது காரியமாய்ப் போவான் என்று உரைக்கிற ஆண்டவருடைய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டேன். அதற்கு நான்: இதோ, அடியேன் இருக்கிறேன்; என்னை அனுப்பும் என்றேன்.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

அப்பொழுது அவர்: நீ போய், இந்த ஜனங்களை நோக்கி, நீங்கள் காதாரக் கேட்டும் உணராமலும், கண்ணாரக்கண்டும் அறியாமலும் இருங்கள் என்று சொல்.

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

இந்த ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் கண்களினால் காணாமலும், தங்கள் காதுகளினால் கேளாமலும், தங்கள் இருதயத்தினால் உணர்ந்து குணப்படாமலும், நான் அவர்களை ஆரோக்கியமாக்காமலுமிருக்க, நீ அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைக் கொழுத்ததாக்கி, அவர்கள் காதுகளை மந்தப்படுத்தி, அவர்கள் கண்களை மூடிப்போடு என்றார்.

Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

அப்பொழுது நான்: ஆண்டவரே, எதுவரைக்கும் என்று கேட்டேன். அதற்கு அவர்: பட்டணங்கள் குடியில்லாமலும், வீடுகள் மனுஷசஞ்சாரமில்லாமலும் பாழாகி, பூமி அவாந்தரவெளியாகி,

Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

கர்த்தர் மனுஷரைத் தூரமாக விலக்குவதினால், தேசத்தின் நடுமையம் முற்றிலும் வெறுமையாக்கப்படும்வரைக்குமே.

And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

ஆகிலும் அதில் இன்னும் பத்தில் ஒரு பங்கிருக்கும், அதுவும் திரும்ப நிர்மூலமாக்கப்படும்; கர்வாலிமரமும் அரசமரமும் இலையற்றுப்போனபின்பு, அவைகளில் அடிமரம் இருப்பதுபோல, அதின் அடிமரமும் பரிசுத்த வித்தாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 7

உசியாவினுடைய குமாரனாகிய யோதாமின் குமாரன் ஆகாஸ் என்னும் யூதாதேசத்து ராஜாவின் நாட்களிலே, ரேத்சீன் என்னும் சீரியாவின் ராஜாவும், ரெமலியாவின் குமாரனாகிய பெக்கா என்னும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவும் எருசலேமின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணவந்தார்கள், அவர்களால் அதைப் பிடிக்கக்கூடாமற்போயிற்று.

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

சீரியர் எப்பிராயீமைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறார்களென்று தாவீதின் குடும்பத்துக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, ராஜாவின் இருதயமும் அவன் ஜனத்தின் இருதயமும் காட்டிலுள்ள மரங்கள் காற்றினால் அசைகிறது போல் அசைந்தது.

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் ஏசாயாவை நோக்கி: நீயும் உன் மகன் சேயார் யாசூபுமாக வண்ணார் துறைவழியிலுள்ள மேற்குளத்து மதகின் கடைசிமட்டும் ஆகாசுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய்,

Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field;

நீ அவனை நோக்கி: சீரியர் எப்பிராயீமோடும், ரெமலியாவின் மகனோடும் உனக்கு விரோதமாகத் துராலோசனைபண்ணி,

And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

நாம் யூதாவுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப்போய், அதை நெருக்கி, அதை நமக்குள்ளே பங்கிட்டுக்கொண்டு, அதற்குத் தபேயாலின் குமாரனை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்துவோம் என்று சொன்னதினிமித்தம்;

Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

நீ பயப்படாமல் அமர்ந்திருக்கப்பார்; இந்த இரண்டு புகைகிற கொள்ளிக்கட்டைகளாகிய சீரியரோடே வந்த ரேத்சீனும், ரெமலியாவின் மகனும்கொண்ட உக்கிரக்கோபத்தினிமித்தம் உன் இருதயம் துவளவேண்டாம்.

Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர்: அந்த ஆலோசனை நிலைநிற்பதில்லை, அதின்படி சம்பவிப்பதுமில்லை;

Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

சீரியாவின் தலை தமஸ்கு, தமஸ்குவின் தலை ரேத்சீன்; இன்னும் அறுபத்தைந்து வருஷங்களிலே எப்பிராயீம் ஒரு ஜனமாயிராதபடிக்கு நொறுங்குண்டுபோகும்.

For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.

எப்பிராயீமின் தலை சமாரியா, சமாரியாவின் தலை ரெமலியாவின் மகன்; நீங்கள் விசுவாசியாவிட்டால் நிலைபெறமாட்டீர்கள் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் ஆகாசை நோக்கி:

Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் ஒரு அடையாளத்தை வேண்டிக்கொள்; அதை ஆழத்திலிருந்தாகிலும், உன்னதத்திலிருந்தாகிலும் உண்டாகக் கேட்டுக்கொள் என்று சொன்னார்;

Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

ஆகாசோ: நான் கேட்கமாட்டேன், நான் கர்த்தரைப் பரீட்சை செய்யமாட்டேன் என்றான்.

But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா: தாவீதின் வம்சத்தாரே, கேளுங்கள்; நீங்கள் மனுஷரை விசனப்படுத்துகிறது போதாதேன்று என் தேவனையும் விசனப்படுத்தப் பார்க்கிறீர்களோ?

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

ஆதலால் ஆண்டவர் தாமே உங்களுக்கு ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் கொடுப்பார்; இதோ, ஒரு கன்னிகை கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாள், அவருக்கு இம்மானுவேல் என்று பேரிடுவாள்.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

தீமையை வெறுத்து நன்மையைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ள அறியும் வயதுமட்டும் அவர் வெண்ணெயையும் தேனையும் சாப்பிடுவார்.

Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

அந்தப் பிள்ளை தீமையை வெறுக்கவும், நன்மையைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளவும் அறிகிறதற்குமுன்னே, நீ அருவருக்கிற தேசம் அதின் இரண்டு ராஜாக்களால் விட்டுவிடப்படும்.

For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

எப்பிராயீம் யூதாவைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்த நாள்முதல் வராத நாட்களைக் கர்த்தர் உன்மேலும், உன் ஜனத்தின்மேலும், உன் பிதாவுடைய வம்சத்தின்மேலும், அசீரியாவின் ராஜாவினாலே வரப்பண்ணுவார்.

The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.

அந்நாட்களிலே, கர்த்தர் எகிப்து நதிகளின் கடையாந்தரத்திலுள்ள ஈயையும், அசீரியாதேசத்திலிருக்கும் தேனீயையும் பயில்காட்டி அழைப்பார்.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

அவைகள் வந்து ஏகமாய் வனாந்தரங்களின் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளிலும், கன்மலைகளின் வெடிப்புகளிலும், எல்லா முட்காடுகளிலும், மேய்ச்சலுள்ள எல்லா இடங்களிலும் தங்கும்.

And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.

அக்காலத்தில் ஆண்டவர் கூலிக்கு வாங்கின சவரகன் கத்தியினால், அதாவது, நதியின் அக்கரையிலுள்ள அசீரியா ராஜாவினால், தலைமயிரையும் கால்மயிரையும் சிரைப்பித்து, தாடியையும் வாங்கிப்போடுவிப்பார்.

In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

அக்காலத்தில் ஒருவன் ஒரு இளம்பசுவையும், இரண்டு ஆடுகளையும் வளர்த்தால்,

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;

அவைகள் பூரணமாய்ப் பால்கறக்கிறபடியினால் வெண்ணெயைச் சாப்பிடுவான்; தேசத்தின் நடுவில் மீதியாயிருப்பவனெவனும் வெண்ணெயையும் தேனையுமே சாப்பிடுவான்.

And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

அந்நாளிலே, ஆயிரம் வெள்ளிக்காசு பெறும் ஆயிரம் திராட்சச்செடியிருந்த நிலமெல்லாம் முட்செடியும் நெரிஞ்சிலுமாகும்.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.

தேசமெங்கும் முட்செடியும் நெரிஞ்சிலும் உண்டாயிருப்பதினால், அம்புகளையும் வில்லையும் பிடித்து அங்கே போகவேண்டியதாயிருக்கும்.

With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.

மண்வெட்டியால் கொத்தப்படுகிற மலைகள் உண்டே; முட்செடிகளுக்கும் நெரிஞ்சில்களுக்கும் பயப்படுவதினால் அவைகளில் ஒன்றிற்கும் போகக்கூடாமையினால், அவைகள் மாடுகளை ஓட்டிவிடுவதற்கும், ஆடுகள் மிதிப்பதற்குமான இடமாயிருக்கும் என்றான்.

And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 8

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ ஒரு பெரிய பத்திரத்தை எடுத்து மனுஷன் எழுதுகிற பிரகாரமாய் அதிலே மகேர்-சாலால்-அஷ்-பாஸ் என்று எழுது என்றார்.

Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.

அப்பொழுது நான் உண்மையுள்ள சாட்சிக்காரராகிய ஆசாரியனான உரியாவையும், யெபெரெகியாவின் குமாரனான சகரியாவையும் அதற்குச் சாட்சிகளாக வைத்துக்கொண்டேன்.

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

நான் தீர்க்கதரிசியானவளைச் சேர்ந்தபோது, அவள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்றாள்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: மகேர்-சாலால்-அஷ்-பாஸ் என்னும் பேரை அவனுக்கு இடு.

And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.

இந்தப் பாலகன், அப்பா, அம்மா என்று கூப்பிட அறியுமுன்னே, தமஸ்குவின் ஆஸ்தியும், சமாரியாவின் கொள்ளையும், அசீரியாவின் ராஜாவுக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுபோகப்படும் என்றார்.

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

பின்னும் கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி:

The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,

இந்த ஜனம் மெதுவாய் ஓடுகிற சீலோவாவின் தண்ணீர்களை அசட்டைபண்ணி, ரேத்சீனையும் ரெமலியாவின் குமாரனையும் சார்ந்து சந்தோஷிக்கிறபடியினால்,

Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;

இதோ, ஆண்டவர் வல்லமையுள்ள திரளான ஆற்றுநீரைப்போன்ற அசீரியாவின் ராஜாவையும், அவனுடைய சகல ஆடம்பரத்தையும் அவர்கள்மேல் புரளப்பண்ணுவார்; அது அவர்களுடைய ஓடைகளெல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் போய், அவர்களுடைய எல்லாக் கரைகள்மேலும் புரண்டு,

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

யூதாவுக்குள் புகுந்து பிரவாகித்துக் கடந்து, கழுத்துமட்டும் வரும் என்றார். இம்மானுவேலே, அவன் செட்டைகளின் விரிவு உமது தேசத்தின் விசாலத்தை மூடும்.

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

ஜனங்களே, நீங்கள் கூட்டங்கூடுங்கள், முறியடிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்; தூரதேசத்தாராகிய நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் செவிகொடுங்கள்; இடைக்கட்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள், முறிந்தோடுவீர்கள்,

Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

ஆலோசனை செய்யுங்கள், அது அபத்தமாகும்; வார்த்தையை வசனியுங்கள், அது நிற்காது; தேவன் எங்களோடே இருக்கிறார்.

Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

கர்த்தருடைய கரம் என்மேல் அமர்ந்து, அவர் என்னுடனே பேசி, நான் இந்த ஜனத்தின் வழியிலே நடவாதபடி எனக்குப் புத்திசொல்லி விளம்பினதாவது:

For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

இந்த ஜனங்கள் கட்டுப்பாடு என்று சொல்லுகிறதையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் கட்டுப்பாடு என்று சொல்லாமலும், அவர்கள் பயப்படுகிற பயத்தின்படி நீங்கள் பயப்படாமலும், கலங்காமலும்,

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரையே பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; அவரே உங்கள் பயமும், அவரே உங்கள் அச்சமுமாயிருப்பாராக.

Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

அவர் உங்களுக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலமாயிருப்பார்; ஆகிலும் இஸ்ரவேலின் இரண்டு கோத்திரத்துக்கும் தடுக்கலின் கல்லும், இடறுதலின் கன்மலையும், எருசலேமின் குடிகளுக்குச் சுருக்கும் கண்ணியுமாயிருப்பார்.

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

அவர்களில் அநேகர் இடறிவிழுந்து நொறுங்கிச் சிக்குண்டு பிடிபடுவார்கள்.

And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

சாட்சி ஆகமத்தைக் கட்டி, என் சீஷருக்குள்ளே வேதத்தை முத்திரையிடு என்றார்.

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

நானோ யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தமது முகத்தை மறைக்கிற கர்த்தருக்காகக் காத்திருந்து, அவருக்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பேன்.

And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

இதோ, நானும் கர்த்தர் எனக்குக் கொடுத்த பிள்ளைகளும் சீயோன் பர்வதத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிற சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராலே இஸ்ரவேலில் அடையாளங்களாகவும் அற்புதங்களாகவும் இருக்கிறோம்.

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

அவர்கள் உங்களை நோக்கி: அஞ்சனம்பார்க்கிறவர்களிடத்திலும், முணுமுணென்று ஓதுகிற குறிகாரரிடத்திலும் விசாரியுங்கள் என்று சொல்லும்போது, ஜனங்கள் தன் தேவனிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கவேண்டியதல்லவோ? உயிருள்ளவர்களுக்காகச் செத்தவர்களிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கலாமோ?

And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

வேதத்தையும் சாட்சி ஆகமத்தையும் கவனிக்கவேண்டும்; இந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே சொல்லாவிட்டால், அவர்களுக்கு விடியற்காலத்து வெளிச்சமில்லை.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

இடுக்கண் அடைந்தவர்களாயும் பட்டினியாயும் தேசத்தைக் கடந்துபோவார்கள்; அவர்கள் பட்டினியாயிருக்கும்போது, மூர்க்கவெறிகொண்டு, தங்கள் ராஜாவையும் தங்கள் தேவனையும் தூஷிப்பார்கள்.

And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

அவர்கள் அண்ணாந்துபார்ப்பார்கள், பூமியையும் நோக்கிப்பார்ப்பார்கள்; ஆனாலும் இதோ, இக்கட்டும் அந்தகாரமும் இருக்கும்; இடுக்கத்தால் இருளடைந்து, அந்தகாரத்திலே தள்ளுண்டு அலைவார்கள்.

And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

யோவான் அத்தியாயம் 20

The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

உடனே அவள் ஓடி, சீமோன் பேதுருவினிடத்திலும் இயேசுவுக்கு அன்பாயிருந்த மற்றச் சீஷனிடத்திலும் போய்: கர்த்தரைக் கல்லறையிலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டார்கள், அவரை வைத்த இடம் எங்களுக்குத் தெரியவில்லை என்றாள்.

Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

அப்பொழுது பேதுருவும் மற்றச் சீஷனும் கல்லறையினிடத்திற்குப் போகும்படி புறப்பட்டு, இருவரும் ஒருமித்து ஓடினார்கள்.

Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.

பேதுருவைப்பார்க்கிலும் மற்றச் சீஷன் துரிதமாய் ஓடி, முந்திக் கல்லறையினிடத்தில் வந்து,

So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.

அதற்குள்ளே குனிந்து பார்த்து, சீலைகள் கிடக்கிறதைக் கண்டான்; ஆனாலும் அவன் உள்ளே போகவில்லை.

And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

சீமோன்பேதுரு அவனுக்குப் பின்னே வந்து, கல்லறைக்குள்ளே பிரவேசித்து,

Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

சீலைகள் கிடக்கிறதையும், அவருடைய தலையில் சுற்றியிருந்த சீலை மற்றச் சீலைகளுடனே வைத்திராமல் தனியே ஒரு இடத்திலே சுருட்டி வைத்திருக்கிறதையும் கண்டான்.

And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

முந்திக் கல்லறையினிடத்திற்கு வந்த மற்றச் சீஷனும் அப்பொழுது உள்ளே பிரவேசித்து, கண்டு விசுவாசித்தான்.

Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

அவர் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்திருக்கவேண்டும் என்கிற வேதவாக்கியத்தை அவர்கள் இன்னும் அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.

For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

பின்பு அந்தச் சீஷர்கள் தங்களுடைய இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.

Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

மரியாள் கல்லறையினருகே வெளியே நின்று அழுதுகொண்டிருந்தாள்; அப்படி அழுதுகொண்டிருக்கையில் அவள் குனிந்து கல்லறைக்குள்ளே பார்த்து,

But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,

இயேசுவின் சரீரம் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த இடத்திலே வெள்ளுடை தரித்தவர்களாய் இரண்டு தூதர்கள், தலைமாட்டில் ஒருவனும் கால்மாட்டில் ஒருவனுமாக, உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டாள்.

And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

அவர்கள் அவளை நோக்கி: ஸ்திரீயே, ஏன் அழுகிறாய் என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவள்: என் ஆண்டவரை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டார்கள், அவரை வைத்த இடம் எனக்குத் தெரியவில்லை என்றாள்.

And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

இவைகளைச் சொல்லிப் பின்னாகத் திரும்பி, இயேசு நிற்கிறதைக் கண்டாள்; ஆனாலும் அவரை இயேசு என்று அறியாதிருந்தாள்.

And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து: ஸ்திரீயே, ஏன் அழுகிறாய், யாரைத் தேடுகிறாய் என்றார். அவள், அவரைத் தோட்டக்காரனென்று எண்ணி: ஐயா, நீர் அவரை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போனதுண்டானால், அவரை வைத்த இடத்தை எனக்குச் சொல்லும், நான் போய் அவரை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுவேன் என்றாள்.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: மரியாளே என்றார். அவள் திரும்பிப் பார்த்து: ரபூனி என்றாள்; அதற்குப் போதகரே என்று அர்த்தமாம்.

Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: என்னைத் தொடாதே, நான் இன்னும் என் பிதாவினிடத்திற்கு ஏறிப்போகவில்லை; நீ என் சகோதரரிடத்திற்குப் போய், நான் என் பிதாவினிடத்திற்கும் உங்கள் பிதாவினிடத்திற்கும், என் தேவனிடத்திற்கும் உங்கள் தேவனிடத்திற்கும் ஏறிப்போகிறேன் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லு என்றார்.

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

மகதலேனாமரியாள் போய், தான் கர்த்தரைக் கண்டதையும், அவர் தன்னுடனே சொன்னவைகளையும் சீஷருக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.

Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

வாரத்தின் முதல்நாளாகிய அன்றையத்தினம் சாயங்காலவேளையிலே, சீஷர்கள் கூடியிருந்த இடத்தில், யூதர்களுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் கதவுகள் பூட்டியிருக்கையில், இயேசு வந்து நடுவே நின்று: உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம் என்றார்.

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

அவர் இப்படிச் சொல்லித் தம்முடைய கைகளையும் விலாவையும் அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பித்தார். சீஷர்கள் கர்த்தரைக்கண்டு சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்.

And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

இயேசு மறுபடியும் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானமுண்டாவதாக; பிதா என்னை அனுப்பினதுபோல நானும் உங்களை அனுப்புகிறேன் என்று சொல்லி,

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

அவர்கள்மேல் ஊதி: பரிசுத்த ஆவியைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்;

And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

எவர்களுடைய பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கிறீர்களோ அவைகள் அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும், எவர்களுடைய பாவங்களை மன்னியாதிருக்கிறீர்களோ அவைகள் அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படாதிருக்கும் என்றார்.

Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

இயேசு வந்திருந்தபோது பன்னிருவரில் ஒருவனாகிய திதிமு என்னப்பட்ட தோமா என்பவன் அவர்களுடனேகூட இருக்கவில்லை.

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

மற்றச் சீஷர்கள்: கர்த்தரைக் கண்டோம் என்று அவனுடனே சொன்னார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: அவருடைய கைகளில் ஆணிகளினாலுண்டான காயத்தை நான் கண்டு, அந்தக் காயத்திலே என் விரலையிட்டு, என் கையை அவருடைய விலாவிலே போட்டாலொழிய விசுவாசிக்கமாட்டேன் என்றான்.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

மறுபடியும் எட்டுநாளைக்குப்பின்பு அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் வீட்டுக்குள்ளே இருந்தார்கள்; தோமாவும் அவர்களுடனேகூட இருந்தான்; கதவுகள் பூட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது. அப்பொழுது இயேசு வந்து நடுவே நின்று: உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம் என்றார்.

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

பின்பு அவர் தோமாவை நோக்கி: நீ உன் விரலை இங்கே நீட்டி, என் கைகளைப் பார், உன் கையை நீட்டி, என் விலாவிலே போடு, அவிசுவாசியாயிராமல் விசுவாசியாயிரு என்றார்.

Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

தோமா அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் ஆண்டவரே! என் தேவனே! என்றான்.

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

அதற்கு இயேசு: தோமாவே, நீ என்னைக் கண்டதினாலே விசுவாசித்தாய், காணாதிருந்தும் விசுவாசிக்கிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றார்.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிராத வேறு அநேக அற்புதங்களையும் இயேசு தமது சீஷருக்கு முன்பாகச் செய்தார்.

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

இயேசு தேவனுடைய குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்து என்று நீங்கள் விசுவாசிக்கும்படியாகவும், விசுவாசித்து அவருடைய நாமத்தினாலே நித்தியஜீவனை அடையும்படியாகவும், இவைகள் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
