சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 106

அல்லேலூயா, கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவர் நல்லவர், அவர் கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது.

Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

கர்த்தருடைய வல்லமையான செய்கைகளைச் சொல்லி, அவருடைய துதியையெல்லாம் பிரஸ்தாபப்படுத்தத்தக்கவன் யார்?

Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

நியாயத்தைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களும், எக்காலத்திலும் நீதியைச் செய்கிறவர்களும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் தெரிந்துகொண்டவர்களின் நன்மையை நான் கண்டு, உம்முடைய ஜாதியின் மகிழ்ச்சியால் மகிழ்ந்து, உம்முடைய சுதந்தரத்தோடே மேன்மைபாராட்டும்படிக்கு,

Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

உம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்கு நீர் பாராட்டும் கிருபையின்படி என்னை நினைத்து, உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பினால் என்னைச் சந்தித்தருளும்.

That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

எங்கள் பிதாக்களோடுங்கூட நாங்களும் பாவஞ்செய்து, அக்கிரமம் நடப்பித்து, ஆகாமியம் பண்ணினோம்.

We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் எகிப்திலே உம்முடைய அதிசயங்களை உணராமலும், உம்முடைய கிருபைகளின் திரட்சியை நினையாமலும் போய், சிவந்த சமுத்திர ஓரத்திலே கலகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

ஆனாலும் அவர் தமது வல்லமையை வெளிப்படுத்தும்படி, தம்முடைய நாமத்தினிமித்தம் அவர்களை இரட்சித்தார்.

Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

அவர் சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தை அதட்டினார், அது வற்றிப்போயிற்று; வெட்டாந்தரையில் நடக்கிறதுபோல அவர்களை ஆழங்களில் நடந்துபோகப்பண்ணினார்.

He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

பகைஞன் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி இரட்சித்து, சத்துருவின் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி மீட்டார்.

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களைத் தண்ணீர்கள் மூடிக்கொண்டது; அவர்களில் ஒருவனும் மீந்திருக்கவில்லை.

And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளை விசுவாசித்து, அவருடைய துதியைப் பாடினார்கள்.

Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

ஆனாலும் சீக்கிரமாய் அவருடைய கிரியைகளை மறந்தார்கள்; அவருடைய ஆலோசனைக்கு அவர்கள் காத்திராமல்,

They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

வனாந்தரத்திலே இச்சையுள்ளவர்களாகி, அவாந்தரவெளியிலே தேவனைப் பரீட்சைபார்த்தார்கள்.

But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் கேட்டதை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார், அவர்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களிலோ இளைப்பை அனுப்பினார்.

And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

பாளயத்தில் அவர்கள் மோசேயின்மேலும், கர்த்தருடைய பரிசுத்தனாகிய ஆரோனின்மேலும் பொறாமைகொண்டார்கள்.

They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

பூமி பிளந்து தாத்தானை விழுங்கி, அபிராமின் கூட்டத்தை மூடிப்போட்டது.

The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

அவர்கள் கூட்டத்தில் அக்கினி பற்றியெரிந்தது; அக்கினி ஜூவாலை துன்மார்க்கரை எரித்துப்போட்டது.

And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

அவர்கள் ஓரேபிலே ஒரு கன்றுக்குட்டியையுண்டாக்கி, வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட விக்கிரகத்தை நமஸ்கரித்தார்கள்.

They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

தங்கள் மகிமையைப் புல்லைத் தின்கிற மாட்டின் சாயலாக மாற்றினார்கள்.

Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

எகிப்திலே பெரிய கிரியைகளையும், காமின் தேசத்திலே அதிசயங்களையும், சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தண்டையிலே பயங்கரமானவைகளையும் செய்தவராகிய,

They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

தங்கள் இரட்சகரான தேவனை மறந்தார்கள்.

Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

ஆகையால், அவர்களை நாசம்பண்ணுவேன் என்றார்; அப்பொழுது அவரால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட மோசே, அவர்களை அவர் அழிக்காதபடிக்கு, அவருடைய உக்கிரத்தை ஆற்றும்பொருட்டு, அவருக்கு முன்பாகத் திறப்பின் வாயிலே நின்றான்.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

அவருடைய வார்த்தையை விசுவாசியாமல், இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்க தேசத்தை அசட்டைபண்ணினார்கள்.

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடாமல், தங்கள் கூடாரங்களில் முறுமுறுத்தார்கள்.

But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் வனாந்தரத்திலே மடியவும், அவர்கள் சந்ததி ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே அழியவும்,

Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

அவர்கள் பற்பல தேசங்களிலே சிதறடிக்கப்படவும், அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தம்முடைய கையை எடுத்தார்.

To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

அவர்கள் பாகால்பேயோரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு, ஜீவனில்லாதவைகளுக்கு இட்ட பலிகளைப் புசித்து,

They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

தங்கள் கிரியைகளினால் அவருக்குக் கோபம் மூட்டினார்கள்; ஆகையால் வாதை அவர்களுக்குள் புகுந்தது.

Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

அப்பொழுது பினெகாஸ் எழுந்து நின்று நியாயஞ்செய்தான்; அதினால் வாதை நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.

Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

அது தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக என்றைக்கும் அவனுக்கு நீதியாக எண்ணப்பட்டது.

And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீர்களிடத்திலும் அவருக்குக் கடுங்கோபம் மூட்டினார்கள்; அவர்கள் நிமித்தம் மோசேக்கும் பொல்லாப்பு வந்தது.

They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

அவர்கள் அவன் ஆவியை விசனப்படுத்தினதினாலே, தன் உதடுகளினால் பதறிப்பேசினான்.

Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடி, அவர்கள் அந்த ஜனங்களை அழிக்கவில்லை.

They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

ஜாதிகளுடனே கலந்து, அவர்கள் கிரியைகளைக் கற்று;

But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

அவர்களுடைய விக்கிரகங்களைச் சேவித்தார்கள்; அவைகள் அவர்களுக்குக் கண்ணியாயிற்று.

And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் குமாரரையும் தங்கள் குமாரத்திகளையும் பிசாசுகளுக்குப் பலியிட்டார்கள்.

Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

அவர்கள் கானான் தேசத்து விக்கிரகங்களுக்குப் பலியிட்டு, தங்கள் குமாரர் குமாரத்திகளுடைய குற்றமில்லாத இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தினார்கள்; தேசம் இரத்தத்தால் தீட்டுப்பட்டது.

And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் கிரியைகளினால் அசுத்தமாகி, தங்கள் செய்கைகளினால் சோரம்போனார்கள்.

Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

அதினால் கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் தமது ஜனத்தின்மேல் மூண்டது; அவர் தமது சுதந்தரத்தை அருவருத்தார்.

Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

அவர்களை ஜாதிகளுடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அவர்களுடைய பகைஞர் அவர்களை ஆண்டார்கள்.

And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

அவர்களுடைய சத்துருக்கள் அவர்களை ஒடுக்கினார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய கையின்கீழ்த் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டார்கள்.

Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

அநேகந்தரம் அவர்களை விடுவித்தார்; அவர்களோ தங்கள் யோசனையினால் அவருக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணி, தங்களுடைய அக்கிரமத்தினால் சிறுமைப்படுத்தப்பட்டார்கள்.

Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

அவர்கள் கூப்பிடுதலை அவர் கேட்கும்போதோ, அவர்களுக்கு உண்டான இடுக்கத்தை அவர் கண்ணோக்கி,

Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

அவர்களுக்காகத் தமது உடன்படிக்கையை நினைத்து, தமது மிகுந்த கிருபையின்படி மனஸ்தாபப்பட்டு,

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

அவர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்த யாவரும் அவர்களுக்கு இரங்கும்படி செய்தார்.

He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நாங்கள் உமது பரிசுத்த நாமத்தைப் போற்றி, உம்மைத் துதிக்கிறதில் மேன்மைபாராட்டும்படி எங்களை இரட்சித்து, எங்களை ஜாதிகளிலிருந்து சேர்த்தருளும்.

Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அநாதியாய் என்றென்றைக்கும் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படத்தக்கவர். ஜனங்களெல்லாரும்: ஆமென், அல்லேலூயா, என்பார்களாக.

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 107

கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவர் நல்லவர், அவர் கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது.

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

கர்த்தரால் சத்துருவின் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி மீட்கப்பட்டு,

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

கிழக்கிலும் மேற்கிலும் வடக்கிலும் தெற்கிலுமுள்ள பல தேசங்களிலுமிருந்து சேர்க்கப்பட்டவர்கள், அப்படிச் சொல்லக்கடவர்கள்.

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

அவர்கள் தாபரிக்கும் ஊரைக்காணாமல், வனாந்தரத்திலே அவாந்தரவழியாய்,

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

பசியாகவும், தாகமாகவும், ஆத்துமா தொய்ந்ததாகவும் அலைந்து திரிந்தார்கள்.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள், அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளிலிருந்து அவர்களை விடுவித்தார்.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

தாபரிக்கும் ஊருக்குப்போய்ச்சேர, அவர்களைச் செவ்வையான வழியிலே நடத்தினார்.

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

தவனமுள்ள ஆத்துமாவைக் கர்த்தர் திருப்தியாக்கி, பசியுள்ள ஆத்துமாவை நன்மையினால் நிரப்புகிறாரென்று,

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

அவருடைய கிருபையினிமித்தமும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அவர் செய்கிற அதிசயங்களினிமித்தமும் அவரைத் துதிப்பார்களாக.

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணி, உன்னதமானவருடைய ஆலோசனையை அசட்டைபண்ணினவர்கள்,

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

அந்தகாரத்திலும் மரண இருளிலும் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்து, ஒடுக்கத்திலும் இரும்பிலும் கட்டுண்டு கிடந்தார்கள்.

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

அவர்களுடைய இருதயத்தை அவர் வருத்தத்தால் தாழ்த்தினார்; சகாயரில்லாமல் விழுந்து போனார்கள்.

Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளிலிருந்து அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சித்தார்.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

அந்தகாரத்திலும் மரணஇருளிலுமிருந்து அவர்களை வெளிப்படப்பண்ணி, அவர்கள் கட்டுகளை அறுத்தார்.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

கர்த்தர் வெண்கலக் கதவுகளை உடைத்து, இருப்புத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களை முறித்தாரென்று,

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

நிர்மூடர் தங்கள் பாதகமார்க்கத்தாலும் தங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களாலும் நோய்கொண்டு ஒடுங்கிப்போகிறார்கள்.

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா சகல போஜனத்தையும் அரோசிக்கிறது, அவர்கள் மரணவாசல்கள் பரியந்தம் சமீபிக்கிறார்கள்.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளுக்கு அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கிறார்.

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

அவர் தமது வசனத்தை அனுப்பி அவர்களைக் குணமாக்கி, அவர்களை அழிவுக்குத் தப்புவிக்கிறார்.

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை அவருடைய கிருபையினிமித்தமும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அவர் செய்கிற அதிசயங்களினிமித்தமும் துதித்து,

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளைச் செலுத்தி, அவருடைய கிரியைகளை ஆனந்த சத்தத்தோடே விவரிப்பார்களாக.

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

கப்பலேறி, கடல்யாத்திரைபண்ணி, திரளான தண்ணீர்களிலே தொழில் செய்கிறார்களே,

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய கிரியைகளையும், ஆழத்திலே அவருடைய அதிசயங்களையும் காண்கிறார்கள்.

These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.

அவர் கட்டளையிட பெருங்காற்று எழும்பி, அதின் அலைகளைக் கொந்தளிக்கப்பண்ணும்.

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

அவர்கள் ஆகாயத்தில் ஏறி, ஆழங்களில் இறங்குகிறார்கள், அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா கிலேசத்தினால் கரைந்துபோகிறது.

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

வெறித்தவனைப்போல் அலைந்து தடுமாறுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய ஞானமெல்லாம் முழுகிப்போகிறது.

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

அப்பொழுது தங்கள் ஆபத்திலே அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள், அவர்கள் இக்கட்டுகளுக்கு அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி விடுவிக்கிறார்.

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

கொந்தளிப்பை அமர்த்துகிறார், அதின் அலைகள் அடங்குகின்றது.

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

அமைதலுண்டானதினிமித்தம் அவர்கள் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறார்கள்; தாங்கள் நாடின துறைமுகத்தில் அவர்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து சேர்க்கிறார்.

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை அவருடைய கிருபையினிமித்தமும், மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அவர் செய்கிற அதியசயங்களினிமித்தமும் துதித்து,

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

ஜனங்களின் சபையிலே அவரை உயர்த்தி, மூப்பர்களின் சங்கத்திலே அவரைப் போற்றுவார்களாக.

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

அவர் ஆறுகளை அவாந்தரவெளியாகவும், நீரூற்றுகளை வறண்ட ஸ்தலமாகவும்,

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

குடிகளுடைய பொல்லாப்பினிமித்தம் செழிப்பான தேசத்தை உவர் நிலமாகவும் மாற்றுகிறார்.

A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

அவர் அவாந்தரவெளியைத் தண்ணீர்த்தடாகமாகவும், வறண்ட நிலத்தை நீரூற்றுகளாகவும் மாற்றி,

He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

பசித்தவர்களை அங்கே குடியேற்றுகிறார்; அங்கே அவர்கள் குடியிருக்கும் நகரத்தைக் கட்டி,

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

வயல்களை உண்டாக்கி விதைத்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களை நாட்டுகிறார்கள், அவைகள் வரத்துள்ள பலனைத் தரும்.

And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார், மிகுதியும் பெருகுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய மிருகஜீவன்கள் குறையாதிருக்கப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

பின்பு அவர்கள் இடுக்கத்தினாலும், ஆபத்தினாலும், துயரத்தினாலும் குறைவுபட்டுத் தாழ்வடைகிறார்கள்.

Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சிவரப்பண்ணி, வழியில்லாத அவாந்தர வெளியிலே அவர்களைத் திரியச்செய்து,

He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

எளியவனையோ சிறுமையினின்று எடுத்து, உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலத்திலே வைத்து, அவன் வம்சங்களை மந்தையைப்போலாக்குகிறார்.

Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

உத்தமர்கள் அதைக்கண்டு மகிழுவார்கள்; நியாயக்கேடெல்லாம் தன் வாயை மூடும்.

The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

எவன் ஞானமுள்ளவனோ அவன் இவைகளைக் கவனிக்கக்கடவன்; ஞானவான்கள் கர்த்தருடைய கிருபைகளை உணர்ந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 108

தேவனே, என் இருதயம் ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கிறது; நான் பாடிக் கீர்த்தனம் பண்ணுவேன்; என் மகிமையும் பாடும்.

O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

வீணையே, சுரமண்டலமே, விழியுங்கள், நான் அதிகாலையில் விழிப்பேன்.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

கர்த்தாவே, ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே உம்மைத் துதிப்பேன்; ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உம்மைக் கீர்த்தனம் பண்ணுவேன்.

I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

உமது கிருபை வானங்களுக்கு மேலாகவும், உமது சத்தியம் மேகமண்டலங்கள் பரியந்தமும் எட்டுகிறது.

For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

தேவனே, வானங்களுக்கு மேலாக உயர்ந்திரும்; உமது மகிமை பூமியனைத்தின்மேலும் உயர்ந்திருப்பதாக.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth;

உமது பிரியர் விடுவிக்கப்படும்பொருட்டு, உமது வலதுகரத்தினால் இரட்சித்து, எங்கள் ஜெபத்தைக் கேட்டருளும்.

That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me.

தேவன் தமது பரிசுத்தத்தைக்கொண்டு விளம்பினார், ஆகையால் களிகூருவேன்; சீகேமைப் பங்கிட்டு, சுக்கோத்தின் பள்ளத்தாக்கை அளந்துகொள்ளுவேன்.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

கீலேயாத் என்னுடையது, மனாசேயும் என்னுடையது; எப்பிராயீம் என் தலையின் பெலன், யூதா என் நியாயப்பிரமாணிகன்.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

மோவாப் என் பாதபாத்திரம்; ஏதோமின்மேல் என் பாதரட்சையை எறிவேன்; பெலிஸ்தியாவின்மேல் ஆர்ப்பரிப்பேன்.

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

அரணான பட்டணத்திற்குள் என்னை நடத்திக்கொண்டு போகிறவன் யார்? ஏதோம்மட்டும் எனக்கு வழிகாட்டுகிறவன் யார்?

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

எங்கள் சேனைகளோடே புறப்படாமலிருந்த தேவரீரல்லவா? எங்களைத் தள்ளிவிட்டிருந்த தேவரீரல்லவா?

Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

இக்கட்டில் எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யும்; மனுஷனுடைய உதவி விருதா.

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

தேவனாலே பராக்கிரமஞ்செய்வோம்; அவரே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களை மிதித்துப்போடுவார்.

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 16

பின்னும் அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷர்களை நோக்கி: ஐசுவரியவானாகிய ஒரு மனுஷனுக்கு ஒரு உக்கிராணக்காரன் இருந்தான்; அவன் தன் எஜமானுடைய ஆஸ்திகளை அழித்துப்போடுகிறதாக எஜமானுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

அப்பொழுது எஜமான் அவனை வரவழைத்து: உன்னைக்குறித்து நான் இப்படிக் கேள்விப்படுகிறதென்ன? உன் உக்கிராணக் கணக்கையொப்புவி, இனி நீ உக்கிராணக்காரனாயிருக்கக்கூடாது என்றான்.

And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

அப்பொழுது உக்கிராணக்காரன்: நான் என்ன செய்வேன், என் எஜமான் உக்கிராண விசாரிப்பிலிருந்து என்னைத் தள்ளிப்போடுகிறானே; கொத்துகிறதற்கு எனக்குப் பெலனில்லை, இரக்கவும் வெட்கப்படுகிறேன்.

Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

உக்கிராண விசாரிப்பைவிட்டு நான் தள்ளப்படும்போது, என்னைத் தங்கள் வீடுகளில் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுவார் உண்டாகும்படி செய்யவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று எனக்குத் தெரியவந்தது, என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டு;

I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

தன் எஜமானிடத்தில் கடன்பட்டவர்களை ஒவ்வொருவனாக வரவழைத்து: முதலாவது வந்தவனை நோக்கி: நீ என் எஜமானிடத்தில் பட்ட கடன் எவ்வளவு என்றான்.

So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

அவன்: நூறுகுடம் எண்ணெய் என்றான். அப்பொழுது உக்கிராணக்காரன் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ உன் சீட்டை வாங்கி, உட்கார்ந்து, ஐம்பது என்று சீக்கிரமாய் எழுது என்றான்.

And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

பின்பு அவன் வேறொருவனை நோக்கி: நீ பட்ட கடன் எவ்வளவு என்றான். அவன்: நூறு கலம் கோதுமை என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவன்: நீ உன் சீட்டை வாங்கி, எண்பது என்று எழுது என்றான்.

Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

அநீதியுள்ள உக்கிராணக்காரன் புத்தியாய்ச் செய்தான் என்று எஜமான் கண்டு, அவனை மெச்சிக்கொண்டான். இவ்விதமாய் ஒளியின் பிள்ளைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் இந்தப் பிரபஞ்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகள் தங்கள் சந்ததியில் அதிக புத்திமான்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன், நீங்கள் மாளும்போது உங்களை நித்தியமான வீடுகளிலே ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுவாருண்டாகும்படி, அநீதியான உலகப்பொருளால் உங்களுக்குச் சிநேகிதரைச் சம்பாதியுங்கள்.

And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

கொஞ்சத்திலே உண்மையுள்ளவன் அநேகத்திலும் உண்மையுள்ளவனாயிருக்கிறான், கொஞ்சத்திலே அநீதியுள்ளவன் அநேகத்திலும் அநீதியுள்ளவனாயிருக்கிறான்.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

அநீதியான உலகப்பொருளைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் உண்மையாயிராவிட்டால், யார் உங்களை நம்பி உங்களிடத்தில் மெய்யானபொருளை ஒப்புவிப்பார்கள்?

If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

வேறொருவனுடைய காரியத்தில் நீங்கள் உண்மையுள்ளவர்களாயிராவிட்டால், உங்களுக்கு யாதொன்றைச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுப்பவர் யார்?

And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

எந்த ஊழியக்காரனும் இரண்டு எஜமான்களுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்யக்கூடாது; ஒருவனைப் பகைத்து மற்றவனைச் சிநேகிப்பான், அல்லது ஒருவனைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு மற்றவனை அசட்டைபண்ணுவான். தேவனுக்கும் உலகப்பொருளுக்கும் ஊழியஞ்செய்ய உங்களாலே கூடாது என்றார்.

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

இவைகளையெல்லாம் பொருளாசைக்காரராகிய பரிசேயரும் கேட்டு, அவரைப் பரியாசம் பண்ணினார்கள்.

And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மனுஷர்முன்பாக உங்களை நீதிமான்களாகக் காட்டுகிறீர்கள், தேவனோ உங்கள் இருதயங்களை அறிந்திருக்கிறார்; மனுஷருக்குள்ளே மேன்மையாக எண்ணப்படுகிறது தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக அருவருப்பாயிருக்கிறது.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

நியாயப்பிரமாணமும் தீர்க்கதரிசனவாக்கியங்களும் யோவான்வரைக்கும் வழங்கிவந்தது; அதுமுதல் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் சுவிசேஷமாய் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுவருகிறது, யாவரும் பலவந்தமாய் அதில் பிரவேசிக்கிறார்கள்.

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

வேதத்தில் ஒரு எழுத்தின் உறுப்பு அவமாய்ப் போவதைப்பார்க்கிலும், வானமும் பூமியும் ஒழிந்துபோவது எளிதாயிருக்கும்.

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

தன் மனைவியைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, வேறொருத்தியை விவாகம்பண்ணுகிறவன் விபசாரஞ்செய்கிறான், புருஷனாலே தள்ளப்பட்டவளை விவாகம்பண்ணுகிறவனும் விபசாரஞ்செய்கிறான்.

Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

ஐசுவரியமுள்ள ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்; அவன் இரத்தாம்பரமும் விலையேறப்பெற்ற வஸ்திரமும் தரித்து, அநுதினமும் சம்பிரமமாய் வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

லாசரு என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு தரித்திரனும் இருந்தான்; அவன் பருக்கள் நிறைந்தவனாய், அந்த ஐசுவரியவானுடைய வாசலருகே கிடந்து,

And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

அவனுடைய மேஜையிலிருந்து விழுந்த துணிக்கைகளாலே தன் பசியை ஆற்ற ஆசையாயிருந்தான்; நாய்கள் வந்து அவன் பருக்களை நக்கிற்று.

And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

பின்பு அந்தத் தரித்திரன் மரித்து, தேவதூதரால் ஆபிரகாமுடைய மடியிலே கொண்டுபோய் விடப்பட்டான்; ஐசுவரியவானும் மரித்து அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

பாதாளத்திலே அவன் வேதனைப்படுகிறபோது, தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, தூரத்திலே ஆபிரகாமையும் அவன் மடியிலே லாசருவையும் கண்டான்.

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமே, நீர் எனக்கு இரங்கி, லாசரு தன் விரலின் நுனியைத் தண்ணிரீல் தோய்த்து, என் நாவைக் குளிரப்பண்ணும்படி அவனை அனுப்பவேண்டும்; இந்த அக்கினிஜீவாலையில் வேதனைப்படுகிறேனே என்று கூப்பிட்டான்.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம்: மகனே, நீ பூமியிலே உயிரோடிருக்குங்காலத்தில் உன் நன்மைகளை அனுபவித்தாய், லாசருவும் அப்படியே தீமைகளை அனுபவித்தான், அதை நினைத்துக்கொள்; இப்பொழுது அவன் தேற்றப்படுகிறான், நீயோ வேதனைப்படுகிறாய்.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

அதுவுமல்லாமல், இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து உங்களிடத்திற்குக் கடந்துபோகவும், அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து எங்களிடத்திற்குக் கடந்துவரவும் மனதுள்ளவர்களுக்குக் கூடாதபடிக்கு, எங்களுக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் நடுவே பெரும்பிளப்பு உண்டாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்றான்.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: அப்படியானால், தகப்பனே, எனக்கு ஐந்துபேர் சகோதரருண்டு, அவர்களும் வேதனையுள்ள இந்த இடத்துக்கு வராதபடி, அவன் போய் அவர்களுக்குச் சாட்சியாக அறிவிக்கும் பொருட்டு,

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

நீர் அவனை என் தகப்பன் வீட்டுக்கு அனுப்பும்படி உம்மை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன் என்றான்.

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

ஆபிரகாம் அவனை நோக்கி: அவர்களுக்கு மோசேயும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் உண்டு, அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் செவிகொடுக்கட்டும் என்றான்.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

அதற்கு அவன்: அப்படியல்ல, தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமே, மரித்தோரிலிருந்து ஒருவன் அவர்களிடத்திற்குப்போனால் மனந்திரும்புவார்கள் என்றான்.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

அதற்கு அவன்: அவர்கள் மோசேக்கும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கும் செவிகொடாவிட்டால், மரித்தோரிலிருந்து ஒருவன் எழுந்துபோனாலும், நம்பமாட்டார்கள் என்று சொன்னான் என்றார்.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
