சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 80

இஸ்ரவேலின் மேய்ப்பரே, யோசேப்பை ஆட்டுமந்தையைப்போல் நடத்துகிறவரே, செவிகொடும்; கேருபீன்கள் மத்தியில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிறவரே, பிரகாசியும்.

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

எப்பிராயீம் பென்யமீன் மனாசே என்பவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக, நீர் உமது வல்லமையை எழுப்பி, எங்களை இரட்சிக்க வந்தருளும்.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

தேவனே, எங்களைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டுவாரும், உமது முகத்தைப் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணும், அப்பொழுது இரட்சிக்கப்படுவோம்.

Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

சேனைகளின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உமது ஜனத்தின் விண்ணப்பத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் நீர் எதுவரைக்கும் கோபங்கொள்வீர்.

O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

கண்ணீராகிய அப்பத்தை அவர்களுக்குப் போஜனமாகவும், மிகுதியான கண்ணீரையே அவர்களுக்குப் பானமாகவும் கொடுத்தீர்.

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

எங்கள் அயலாருக்கு எங்களை வழக்காக வைக்கிறீர்; எங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் எங்களைப் பரியாசம் பண்ணுகிறார்கள்.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

சேனைகளின் தேவனே, எங்களைத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவாரும், உமது முகத்தைப் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணும், அப்பொழுது இரட்சிக்கப்படுவோம்.

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

நீர் எகிப்திலிருந்து ஒரு திராட்சக்கொடியைக் கொண்டுவந்து, ஜாதிகளைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, அதை நாட்டினீர்.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

அதற்கு இடத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினீர்; அது வேரூன்றி, தேசமெங்கும் படர்ந்தது.

Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

அதின் நிழலால் மலைகளும் அதின் கிளைகளால் திவ்வியமான கேதுருக்களும் மூடப்பட்டது.

The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

அது தன் கொடிகளைச் சமுத்திரமட்டாகவும், தன் கிளைகளை நதிமட்டாகவும் படரவிட்டது.

She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

இப்பொழுதோ வழிநடக்கிற யாவரும் அதைப் பறிக்கும்படியாக, அதின் அடைப்புகளை ஏன் தகர்த்துப்போட்டீர்?

Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

காட்டுப்பன்றி அதை உழுதுபோடுகிறது, வெளியின் மிருகங்கள் அதை மேய்ந்துபோடுகிறது.

The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

சேனைகளின் தேவனே, திரும்பி வாரும், வானத்திலிருந்து கண்ணோக்கிப்பார்த்து, இந்தத் திராட்சச்செடியை விசாரித்தருளும்;

Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

உம்முடைய வலதுகரம் நாட்டின கொடியையும், உமக்கு நீர் திடப்படுத்தின கிளையையும் கடாட்சித்தருளும்.

And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

அது அக்கினியால் சுடப்பட்டும் வெட்டுண்டும் போயிற்று; உம்முடைய முகத்தின் பயமுறுத்தலால் அழிந்துபோகிறார்கள்.

It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

உமது கரம் உமது வலதுபாரிசத்துப் புருஷன்மீதிலும், உமக்கு நீர் திடப்படுத்தின மனுஷகுமாரன்மீதிலும் இருப்பதாக.

Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

அப்பொழுது உம்மைவிட்டுப் பின்வாங்கமாட்டோம்; எங்களை உயிர்ப்பியும், அப்பொழுது உமது நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுவோம்.

So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

சேனைகளின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, எங்களைத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டு வாரும்; உமது முகத்தைப் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணும், அப்பொழுது இரட்சிக்கப்படுவோம்.

Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 81

நம்முடைய பெலனாகிய தேவனைக் கெம்பீரமாய்ப் பாடி, யாக்கோபின் தேவனைக்குறித்து ஆர்ப்பரியுங்கள்.

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

தம்புரு வாசித்து, வீணையையும் இனிய ஓசையான சுரமண்டலத்தையும் எடுத்து, சங்கீதம் பாடுங்கள்.

Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

மாதப்பிறப்பிலும், நியமித்தகாலத்திலும், நம்முடைய பண்டிகைநாட்களிலும், எக்காளம் ஊதுங்கள்.

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

இது இஸ்ரவேலுக்குப் பிரமாணமும், யாக்கோபின் தேவன் விதித்த நியாயமுமாயிருக்கிறது.

For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

நாம் அறியாத பாஷையைக்கேட்ட எகிப்துதேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுகையில், இதை யோசேப்பிலே சாட்சியாக ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

அவன் தோளைச் சுமைக்கு விலக்கினேன்; அவன் கைகள் கூடைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கப்பட்டது.

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

நெருக்கத்திலே நீ கூப்பிட்டாய், நான் உன்னைத் தப்புவித்தேன்; இடிமுழக்கம் உண்டாகும் மறைவிடத்திலிருந்து உனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளினேன்; மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீர்களிடத்தில் உன்னைச் சோதித்து அறிந்தேன். (சேலா)

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

என் ஜனமே கேள், உனக்குச் சாட்சியிட்டுச் சொல்லுவேன்; இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

உனக்குள் வேறு தேவன் உண்டாயிருக்கவேண்டாம்; அந்நிய தேவனை நீ நமஸ்கரிக்கவும் வேண்டாம்.

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

உன்னை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே; உன் வாயை விரிவாய்த் திற, நான் அதை நிரப்புவேன்.

I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

என் ஜனமோ என் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கவில்லை; இஸ்ரவேல் என்னை விரும்பவில்லை.

But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

ஆகையால் அவர்களை அவர்கள் இருதயத்தின் கடினத்திற்கு விட்டுவிட்டேன்; தங்கள் யோசனைகளின்படியே நடந்தார்கள்.

So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

ஆ, என் ஜனம் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேல் என் வழிகளில் நடந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்!

Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

நான் சீக்கிரத்தில் அவர்கள் எதிராளிகளைத் தாழ்த்தி, என் கையை அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் திருப்புவேன்.

I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரைப் பகைக்கிறவர்கள் அவருக்கு இச்சகம் பேசி அடங்குவார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய காலம் என்றென்றைக்கும் இருக்கும்.

The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

உச்சிதமான கோதுமையினால் அவர்களைப் போஷிப்பார்; கன்மலையின் தேனினால் உன்னைத் திருப்தியாக்குவேன்.

He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 82

தேவசபையிலே தேவன் எழுந்தருளியிருக்கிறார்; தேவர்களின் நடுவிலே அவர் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கிறார்.

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

எதுவரைக்கும் நீங்கள் அநியாயத்தீர்ப்புச்செய்து, துன்மார்க்கருக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம்பண்ணுவீர்கள். (சேலா)

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

ஏழைக்கும் திக்கற்றபிள்ளைக்கும் நியாயஞ்செய்து, சிறுமைப்பட்டவனுக்கும் திக்கற்றவனுக்கும் நீதி செய்யுங்கள்.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

பலவீனனையும் எளியவனையும் விடுவித்து, துன்மார்க்கரின் கைக்கு அவர்களைத் தப்புவியுங்கள்.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

அறியாமலும் உணராமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள், அந்தகாரத்திலே நடக்கிறார்கள்; தேசத்தின் அஸ்திபாரங்களெல்லாம் அசைகிறது.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

நீங்கள் தேவர்கள் என்றும், நீங்களெல்லாரும் உன்னதமானவரின் மக்கள் என்றும் நான் சொல்லியிருந்தேன்.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் மனுஷரைப்போலச் செத்து, லோகப்பிரபுக்களில் ஒருவனைப்போல விழுந்து போவீர்கள்.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

தேவனே, எழுந்தருளும், பூமிக்கு நியாயத்தீர்ப்புச் செய்யும்; நீரே சகல ஜாதிகளையும் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 83

தேவனே, மவுனமாயிராதேயும், பேசாமலிராதேயும்; தேவனே, சும்மாயிராதேயும்.

Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

இதோ, உம்முடைய சத்துருக்கள் கொந்தளித்து, உம்முடைய பகைஞர் தலையெடுக்கிறார்கள்.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

உமது ஜனத்துக்கு விரோதமாக உபாய தந்திரங்களை யோசித்து, உமது மறைவிலிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக ஆலோசனைபண்ணுகிறார்கள்.

They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

அவர்கள் இனி ஒரு ஜாதியாராயிராமலும், இஸ்ரவேலின் பேர் இனி நினைக்கப்படாமலும் போவதற்காக, அவர்களை அதம்பண்ணுவோம் வாருங்கள் என்கிறார்கள்.

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

இப்படி, ஏதோமின் கூடாரத்தாரும், இஸ்மவேலரும், மோவாபியரும், ஆகாரியரும்,

For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

கேபாலரும், அம்மோனியரும், அமலேக்கியரும், தீருவின் குடிகளோடுகூடிய பெலிஸ்தரும்,

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

ஏகமனநிர்ணயமாய் ஆலோசனைசெய்து, உமக்கு விரோதமாய் ஒப்பந்தம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

அசீரியரும் அவர்களோடேகூடக் கலந்து, லோத்தின் புத்திரருக்குப் புயபலமானார்கள். (சேலா)

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

மீதியானியருக்குச் செய்தது போலவும், கீசோன் என்னும் ஆற்றண்டை எந்தோரிலே அழிக்கப்பட்டு,

Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

நிலத்துக்கு எருவாய்ப்போன சிசெரா, யாபீன் என்பவர்களுக்குச் செய்ததுபோலவும், அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யும்.

Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

அவர்களையும் அவர்கள் அதிபதிகளையும் ஓரேபுக்கும் சேபுக்கும், அவர்கள் பிரபுக்களையெல்லாம் சேபாவுக்கும் சல்முனாவுக்கும் சமமாக்கும்.

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

தேவனுடைய வாசஸ்தலங்களை எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாக நாங்கள் கட்டிக்கொள்வோம் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்களே.

Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

என் தேவனே, அவர்களைச் சுழல்காற்றின் புழுதிக்கும், காற்று முகத்தில் பறக்கும் துரும்புக்கும் சமமாக்கும்.

O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

நெருப்பு காட்டைக் கொளுத்துவதுபோலவும், அக்கினி ஜூவாலைகள் மலைகளை எரிப்பது போலவும்,

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

நீர் உமது புசலினாலே அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து, உமது பெருங்காற்றினாலே அவர்களைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணும்.

So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

கர்த்தாவே, அவர்கள் உமது நாமத்தைத் தேடும்படிக்கு, அவர்கள் முகங்களை அவமானத்தாலே மூடும்.

Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

யேகோவா என்னும் நாமத்தையுடைய தேவரீர் ஒருவரே பூமியனைத்தின்மேலும் உன்னதமானவர் என்று மனுஷர் உணரும்படி,

Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

அவர்கள் என்றைக்கும் வெட்கிக் கலங்கி, நாணமடைந்து அழிந்துபோவார்களாக.

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 84

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, உமது வாசஸ்தலங்கள் எவ்வளவு இன்பமானவைகள்!

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

என் ஆத்துமா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயப்பிராகாரங்களின்மேல் வாஞ்சையும் தவனமுமாயிருக்கிறது; என் இருதயமும் என் மாம்சமும் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நோக்கிக் கெம்பீர சத்தமிடுகிறது.

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

என் ராஜாவும் என் தேவனுமாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய பீடங்களண்டையில் அடைக்கலான் குருவிக்கு வீடும், தகைவிலான் குருவிக்குத் தன் குஞ்சுகளை வைக்கும் கூடும் கிடைத்ததே.

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

உம்முடைய வீட்டில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் எப்பொழுதும் உம்மைத் துதித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள் (சேலா)

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

உம்மிலே பெலன்கொள்ளுகிற மனுஷனும், தங்கள் இருதயங்களில் செவ்வையான வழிகளைக் கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்களும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

அழுகையின் பள்ளத்தாக்கை உருவ நடந்து அதை நீரூற்றாக்கிக் கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; மழையும் குளங்களை நிரப்பும்.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

அவர்கள் பலத்தின்மேல் பலம் அடைந்து, சீயோனிலே தேவசந்நிதியில் வந்து காணப்படுவார்கள்.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

எங்கள் கேடகமாகிய தேவனே, கண்ணோக்கமாயிரும்; நீர் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினவரின் முகத்தைப் பாரும்.

Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

ஆயிரம் நாளைப்பார்க்கிலும் உமது பிராகாரங்களில் செல்லும் ஒரே நாள் நல்லது; ஆகாமியக் கூடாரங்களில் வாசமாயிருப்பதைப் பார்க்கிலும் என் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வாசற்படியில் காத்திருப்பதையே தெரிந்துகொள்ளுவேன்.

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சூரியனும் கேடகமுமானவர்; கர்த்தர் கிருபையையும் மகிமையையும் அருளுவார்; உத்தமமாய் நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நன்மையை வழங்காதிரார்.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்.

O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 85

கர்த்தாவே, உமது தேசத்தின்மேல் பிரியம் வைத்து, யாக்கோபின் சிறையிருப்பைத் திருப்பினீர்.

LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

உமது ஜனத்தின் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் பாவத்தையெல்லாம் மூடினீர். (சேலா)

Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

உமது உக்கிரத்தையெல்லாம் அடக்கிக்கொண்டு, உமது கோபத்தின் எரிச்சலைவிட்டுத் திரும்பினீர்.

Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

எங்கள் இரட்சிப்பின் தேவனே, நீர் எங்களைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டுவாரும், எங்கள்மேலுள்ள உமது கோபத்தை ஆறப்பண்ணும்.

Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

என்றைக்கும் எங்கள்மேல் கோபமாயிருப்பீரோ? தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக உமது கோபத்தை நீடித்திருக்கப்பண்ணுவீரோ?

Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

உமது ஜனங்கள் உம்மில் மகிழ்ந்திருக்கும்படி நீர் எங்களைத் திரும்ப உயிர்ப்பிக்கமாட்டீரோ?

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

கர்த்தாவே, உமது கிருபையை எங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்து, உமது இரட்சிப்பை எங்களுக்கு அருளிச்செய்யும்.

Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் விளம்புவதைக் கேட்பேன்; அவர் தம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்கும் தம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கும் சமாதானம் கூறுவார்; அவர்களோ மதிகேட்டுக்குத் திரும்பாதிருப்பார்களாக.

I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

நம்முடைய தேசத்தில் மகிமை வாசமாயிருக்கும்படி, அவருடைய இரட்சிப்பு அவருக்குப் பயந்தவர்களுக்குச் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறது.

Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

கிருபையும், சத்தியமும் ஒன்றையொன்று சந்திக்கும், நீதியும் சமாதானமும் ஒன்றையொன்று முத்தஞ்செய்யும்.

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

சத்தியம் பூமியிலிருந்து முளைக்கும், நீதி வானத்திலிருந்து தாழப்பார்க்கும்.

Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

கர்த்தர் நன்மையானதைத் தருவார்; நம்முடைய தேசமும் தன் பலனைக் கொடுக்கும்.

Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

நீதி அவருக்கு முன்னாகச் சென்று, அவருடைய அடிச்சுவடுகளின் வழியிலே நம்மை நிறுத்தும்.

Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 11

அவர் ஒரு இடத்தில் ஜெபம்பண்ணி முடித்தபின்பு, அவருடைய சீஷரில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, யோவான் தன் சீஷருக்கு ஜெபம்பண்ணப் போதித்ததுபோல, நீரும் எங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

எங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய ஆகாரத்தை அன்றன்றும் எங்களுக்குத் தாரும்;

Give us day by day our daily bread.

எங்கள் பாவங்களை எங்களுக்கு மன்னியும்; நாங்களும் எங்களிடத்தில் கடன்பட்ட எவனுக்கும் மன்னிக்கிறோமே; எங்களைச் சோதனைக்குட்படப்பண்ணாமல், தீமையினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்துக் கொள்ளும், என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களில் ஒருவன் தனக்குச் சிநேகிதனாயிருக்கிறவனிடத்தில் பாதிராத்திரியிலே போய்: சிநேகிதனே,

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

என் சிநேகிதன் ஒருவன் வழிப்பிரயாணமாய் என்னிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறான், அவன்முன் வைக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் ஒன்றுமில்லை, நீ மூன்று அப்பங்களை எனக்குக் கடனாகத் தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.

For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

வீட்டுக்குள் இருக்கிறவன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னைத் தொந்தரவு செய்யாதே, கதவு பூட்டியாயிற்று, என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னோடேகூடப் படுத்திருக்கிறார்கள், நான் எழுந்திருந்து, உனக்குத் தரக்கூடாது என்று சொன்னான்.

And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

மேலும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: கேளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது கண்டடைவீர்கள்; தட்டுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

ஏனென்றால், கேட்கிறவன் எவனும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; தேடுகிறவன் கண்டடைகிறான்; தட்டுகிறவனுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

உங்களில் தகப்பனாயிருக்கிற ஒருவனிடத்தில் மகன் அப்பங்கேட்டால், அவனுக்குக் கல்லைக் கொடுப்பானா? மீனைக்கேட்டால் மீனுக்குப் பதிலாய்ப் பாம்பைக் கொடுப்பானா?

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

அல்லது முட்டையைக் கேட்டால், அவனுக்குத் தேளைக் கொடுப்பானா?

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

பொல்லாதவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நல்ல ஈவுகளைக் கொடுக்க அறிந்திருக்கும்போது, பரமபிதாவானவர் தம்மிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியைக் கொடுப்பது அதிக நிச்சயம் அல்லவா என்றார்.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

பின்பு அவர் ஊமையாயிருந்த ஒரு பிசாசைத் துரத்தினார். பிசாசு புறப்பட்டுப்போனபின்பு ஊமையன் பேசினான்; ஜனங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

அவர்களில் சிலர்: இவன் பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாகிய பெயெல்செபூலைக் கொண்டு பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறான் என்றார்கள்.

But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

வேறு சிலர் அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காட்டவேண்டுமென்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டார்கள்.

And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகளை அவர் அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த ராஜ்யமும் பாழாய்ப்போகும்; தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த வீடும் விழுந்துபோகும்.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

சாத்தானும் தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருந்தால் அவன் ராஜ்யம் எப்படி நிலைநிற்கும்? இப்படியிருக்க, பெயெல்செபூலைக்கொண்டு நான் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறேன் என்கிறீர்களே.

If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

நான் பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தினால், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அவைகளை யாராலே துரத்துகிறார்கள்? ஆகையால், அவர்களே உங்களை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர்களாயிருப்பார்கள்.

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

நான் தேவனுடைய விரலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறபடியால், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் உங்களிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறதே.

But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

ஆயுதந்தரித்த பலவான் தன் அரமனையைக்காக்கிறபோது, அவனுடைய பொருள் பத்திரப்பட்டிருக்கும்.

When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

அவனிலும் அதிக பலவான் வந்து, அவனை மேற்கொள்வானேயாகில், அவன் நம்பியிருந்த சகல ஆயுதவர்க்கத்தையும் பறித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனுடைய கொள்ளைப்பொருளைப் பங்கிடுவான்.

But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

என்னோடே இராதவன் எனக்கு விரோதியாயிருக்கிறான், என்னோடே சேர்க்காதவன் சிதறடிக்கிறான்.

He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

அசுத்த ஆவி ஒரு மனுஷனை விட்டுப்புறப்படும்போது, வறண்ட இடங்களில் அலைந்து, இளைப்பாறுதல் தேடியும் கண்டடையாமல்: நான் விட்டுவந்த என் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போவேன் என்று சொல்லி,

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

அதில் வரும்போது, அது பெருக்கி ஜோடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கக் கண்டு,

And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

திரும்பிப்போய், தன்னிலும் பொல்லாத வேறு ஏழு ஆவிகளைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, உட்புகுந்து, அங்கே குடியிருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது அந்த மனுஷனுடைய முன்னிலைமையிலும் அவன் பின்னிலைமை அதிக கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

அவர் இவைகளைச் சொல்லுகையில், ஜனக்கூட்டத்திலிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: உம்மைச் சுமந்த கர்ப்பமும் நீர் பாலுண்ட முலைகளும் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகளென்று சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னாள்.

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

அதற்கு அவர்: அப்படியானாலும், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு, அதைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களே அதிக பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றார்.

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

ஜனங்கள் திரளாய்க் கூடிவந்திருக்கிறபொழுது அவர்: இந்தச் சந்ததியார் பொல்லாதவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள், அடையாளத்தைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யோனா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் அடையாளமேயன்றி வேறே அடையாளம் இவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

யோனா நினிவே பட்டணத்தாருக்கு அடையாளமாயிருந்ததுபோல, மனுஷகுமாரனும் இந்தச் சந்ததிக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பார்.

For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

தென்தேசத்து ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து வந்தாள்; இதோ, சாலொமோனிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளிலே அந்த ராஜஸ்திரீ இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவாள்.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

யோனாவின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் மனந்திரும்பினார்கள்; இதோ, யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவார்கள்.

The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

ஒருவனும் விளக்கைக் கொளுத்தி, மறைவிடத்திலாவது, மரக்காலின் கீழேயாவது வைக்காமல், உள்ளே வருகிறவர்கள் வெளிச்சம்காணும்படி, அதை விளக்குத்தண்டின்மேல் வைப்பான்.

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

கண்ணானது சரீரத்தின் விளக்காயிருக்கிறது; உன் கண் தெளிவாயிருந்தால், உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும்; உன் கண் கெட்டதாயிருந்தால் உன் சரீரம் முழுவதும் இருளாயிருக்கும்.

The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

ஆகையால் உன்னிலுள்ள வெளிச்சம் இருளாகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

உன் சரீரம் ஒருபுறத்திலும் இருளடைந்திராமல் முழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருந்தால், ஒரு விளக்கு தன் பிரகாசத்தினாலே உனக்கு வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கிறதுபோல உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், பரிசேயன் ஒருவன் தன்னுடனேகூட அவர் பகற்போஜனம்பண்ணவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; அவர் போய்ப் பந்தியிருந்தார்.

And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.

அவர் போஜனம்பண்ணுகிறதற்கு முன் கைகழுவாமலிருந்ததைப் பரிசேயன் கண்டு, ஆச்சரியப்பட்டான்.

And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: பரிசேயராகிய நீங்கள் போஜனபானபாத்திரங்களின் வெளிப்புறத்தைச் சுத்தமாக்குகிறீர்கள், உங்கள் உள்ளமோ கொள்ளையினாலும் பொல்லாப்பினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

மதிகேடரே, வெளிப்புறத்தை உண்டாக்கினவர் உட்புறத்தையும் உண்டாக்கவில்லையோ?

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

உங்களுக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் பிச்சை கொடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது சகலமும் உங்களுக்குச் சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் ஒற்தலாம் மருக்கொழுந்து முதலிய சகலவித பூண்டுகளிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்து, நியாயத்தையும் தேவ அன்பையும் விட்டுவிடுகிறீர்கள்; இவைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டும், அவைகளையும் விடாதிருக்கவேண்டுமே.

But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் முதன்மையான ஆசனங்களையும், சந்தைகளில் வந்தனங்களையும் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்.

Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

மாயக்காரராகிய வேதபாரகரே, பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, மறைந்திருக்கிற பிரேதக்குழிகளைப்போலிருக்கிறீர்கள், அவைகள்மேல் நடக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு அவைகள் தெரியாதிருக்கிறது என்றார்.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

அப்பொழுது நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, நீர் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறதினால் எங்களையும் நிந்திக்கிறீரே என்றான்.

Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

அதற்கு அவர்: நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, சுமக்க அரிதான சுமைகளை மனுஷர்மேல் சுமத்துகிறீர்கள்; நீங்களோ உங்கள் விரல்களில் ஒன்றினாலும் அந்தச் சுமைகளைத் தொடவும்மாட்டீர்கள்.

And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள்.

Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

ஆகையால் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய கிரியைகளுக்கு நீங்களும் உடன்பட்டவர்களென்று சாட்சியிடுகிறீர்கள்; எப்படியென்றால், உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்தார்கள், நீங்களோ அவர்களுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள்.

Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

ஆதலால் தேவஞானமானது: நான் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் அப்போஸ்தலர்களையும் அவர்களிடத்தில் அனுப்புவேன்; அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொலைசெய்து, சிலரைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவார்கள்;

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

ஆபேலின் இரத்தம்முதல் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் தேவாலயத்துக்கும் நடுவே கொலையுண்ட சகரியாவின் இரத்தம்வரைக்கும், உலகத்தோற்றமுதற்கொண்டு சிந்தப்பட்ட சகல தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய இரத்தப்பழியும் இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படத்தக்கதாக அப்படிச் செய்வார்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறது.

That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

நிச்சயமாகவே இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் அது கேட்கப்படும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, அறிவாகிய திறவுகோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டீர்கள், நீங்களும் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறதில்லை, உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்களையும் தடைபண்ணுகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.

Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

இவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு அவர் சொல்லுகையில், வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாட்டும்பொருட்டு, அவர் வாய்மொழியில் ஏதாகிலும் பிழை கண்டுபிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உபாயம்பண்ணி அவரை மிகவும் நெருக்கவும்,

And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

அநேக காரியங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசும்படி அவரை ஏவவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
