சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 44

தேவனே, எங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய நாட்களாகிய பூர்வநாட்களில் நீர் நடப்பித்த கிரியைகளை அவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்; அவைகளை எங்கள் காதுகளால் கேட்டோம்.

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

தேவரீர் உம்முடைய கையினாலே ஜாதிகளைத் துரத்தி, இவர்களை நாட்டி; ஜனங்களைத் துன்பப்படுத்தி, இவர்களைப் பரவப்பண்ணினீர்.

How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் பட்டயத்தால் தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொள்ளவில்லை; அவர்கள் புயமும் அவர்களை இரட்சிக்கவில்லை; நீர் அவர்கள்மேல் பிரியமாயிருந்தபடியால், உம்முடைய வலதுகரமும், உம்முடைய புயமும், உம்முடைய முகத்தின் பிரகாசமும் அவர்களை இரட்சித்தது.

For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

தேவனே, நீர் என் ராஜா; யாக்கோபுக்கு இரட்சிப்பைக் கட்டளையிடும்.

Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

உம்மாலே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களைக் கீழே விழத்தாக்கி, எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்களை உம்முடைய நாமத்தினால் மிதிப்போம்.

Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

என் வில்லை நான் நம்பேன், என் பட்டயம் என்னை இரட்சிப்பதில்லை.

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

நீரே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்து, எங்களைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களை வெட்கப்படுத்துகிறீர்.

But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

தேவனுக்குள் நித்தம் மேன்மைபாராட்டுவோம்; உமது நாமத்தை என்றென்றைக்கும் துதிப்போம். (சேலா)

In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

நீர் எங்களைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, நாணப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; எங்கள் சேனைகளுடனே செல்லாதிருக்கிறீர்.

But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.

சத்துருவுக்கு நாங்கள் இடைந்து பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பிப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; எங்கள் பகைஞர் தங்களுக்கென்று எங்களைக் கொள்ளையிடுகிறார்கள்.

Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

நீர் எங்களை ஆடுகளைப்போல இரையாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே எங்களைச் சிதறடிக்கிறீர்.

Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.

நீர் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களை இலவசமாக விற்கிறீர்; அவர்கள் கிரயத்தினால் உமக்கு லாபமில்லையே.

Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.

எங்கள் அயலாருக்கு எங்களை நிந்தையாகவும், எங்கள் சுற்றுப்புறத்தாருக்குப் பரியாசமும் சக்கந்தமுமாகவும் வைக்கிறீர்.

Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

நாங்கள் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே பழமொழியாயிருக்கவும், ஜனங்கள் எங்களைக்குறித்துத் தலைதூக்கவும் செய்கிறீர்.

Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

நிந்தித்துத் தூஷிக்கிறவனுடைய சத்தத்தினிமித்தமும், சத்துருவினிமித்தமும், பழிவாங்குகிறவனிமித்தமும்,

My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

என் இலச்சை நித்தம் எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிறது; என் முகத்தின் வெட்கம் என்னை மூடுகிறது.

For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.

இவையெல்லாம் எங்கள்மேல் வந்திருந்தும், உம்மை நாங்கள் மறக்கவும் இல்லை, உம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கைக்குத் துரோகம்பண்ணவும் இல்லை.

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

நீர் எங்களை வலுசர்ப்பங்களுள்ள இடத்திலே நொறுக்கி, மரண இருளினாலே எங்களை மூடியிருந்தும்,

Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

எங்கள் இருதயம் பின்வாங்கவும் இல்லை, எங்கள் காலடி உம்முடைய பாதையை விட்டு விலகவும் இல்லை.

Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தை மறந்து, அந்நியதேவனை நோக்கிக் கையெடுத்திருந்தோமானால்,

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

தேவன் அதை ஆராய்ந்து, விசாரியாதிருப்பாரோ? இருதயத்தின் அந்தரங்கங்களை அவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறாரே.

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

உமது நிமித்தம் எந்நேரமும் கொல்லப்படுகிறோம்; அடிக்கப்படும் ஆடுகளைப்போல எண்ணப்படுகிறோம்.

Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

ஆண்டவரே, விழித்துக்கொள்ளும்; ஏன் நித்திரைபண்ணுகிறீர்? எழுந்தருளும், எங்களை என்றைக்கும் தள்ளிவிடாதிரும்.

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

ஏன் உம்முடைய முகத்தை மறைத்து, எங்கள் சிறுமையையும் எங்கள் நெருக்கத்தையும் மறந்துவிடுகிறீர்?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

எங்கள் ஆத்துமா புழுதிமட்டும் தாழ்ந்திருக்கிறது; எங்கள் வயிறு தரையோடு ஒட்டியிருக்கிறது.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

எங்களுக்கு ஒத்தாசையாக எழுந்தருளும்; உம்முடைய கிருபையினிமித்தம் எங்களை மீட்டுவிடும்.

Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 45

என் இருதயம் நல்ல விசேஷத்தினால் பொங்குகிறது; நான் ராஜாவைக் குறித்துப் பாடின கவியைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; என் நாவு விரைவாய் எழுதுகிறவனுடைய எழுத்தாணி.

My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

எல்லா மனுபுத்திரரிலும் நீர் மகா சவுந்தரியமுள்ளவர்; உம்முடைய உதடுகளில் அருள் பொழிகிறது; ஆகையால் தேவன் உம்மை என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார்.

Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

சவுரியவானே, உமது மகிமையும் உமது மகத்துவமுமாகிய உம்முடைய பட்டயத்தை நீர் உம்முடைய அரையிலே கட்டிக்கொண்டு,

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

சத்தியத்தினிமித்தமும், நீதியுடன் கூடிய சாந்தத்தினிமித்தமும், உமது மகத்துவத்திலே ஜெயமாக ஏறிவாரும்; உமது வலதுகரம் பயங்கரமானவைகளை உமக்கு விளங்கப்பண்ணும்.

And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

உம்முடைய அம்புகள் கூர்மையானவைகள், அவைகள் ராஜாவுடைய சத்துருக்களின் இருதயத்திற்குள் பாயும்; ஜனசதளங்கள் உமக்குக் கீழே விழுவார்கள்.

Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

தேவனே, உமது சிங்காசனம் என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ளது, உமது ராஜ்யத்தின் செங்கோல் நீதியுள்ள செங்கோலாயிருக்கிறது.

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

நீர் நீதியை விரும்பி, அக்கிரமத்தை வெறுக்கிறீர்; ஆதலால் தேவனே, உம்முடைய தேவன் உமது தோழரைப்பார்க்கிலும் உம்மை ஆனந்ததைலத்தினால் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

தந்தத்தினால் செய்த அரமனைகளிலிருந்து புறப்படுகையில், நீர் மகிழும்படி உமது வஸ்திரங்களெல்லாம் வெள்ளைப்போளம் சந்தனம் லவங்கம் இவைகளின் வாசனை பொருந்தியதாயிருக்கிறது.

All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

உமது நாயகிகளுக்குள்ளே அரசரின் குமாரத்திகளுண்டு, ராஜஸ்திரீ ஓப்பீரின் தங்கம் அணிந்தவளாய் உமது வலதுபாரிசத்தில் நிற்கிறாள்.

Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

குமாரத்தியே கேள், நீ உன் செவியைச் சாய்த்து சிந்தித்துக்கொள்; உன் ஜனத்தையும் உன் தகப்பன் வீட்டையும் மறந்துவிடு.

Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;

அப்பொழுது ராஜா உன் அழகில் பிரியப்படுவார்; அவர் உன் ஆண்டவர், ஆகையால் அவரைப் பணிந்துகொள்.

So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

தீரு குமாரத்தி காணிக்கை கொண்டுவருவாள்; ஜனங்களில் ஜசுவரியவான்களும் உன் தயவை நாடி வணங்குவார்கள்.

And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

ராஜகுமாரத்தி உள்ளாகப் பூரண மகிமையுள்ளவள்; அவள் உடை பொற்சரிகையாயிருக்கிறது.

The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

சித்திரத்தையலாடை தரித்தவளாய், ராஜாவினிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வரப்படுவாள்; அவள் பின்னாலே செல்லும் அவளுடைய தோழிகளாகிய கன்னிகைகள் உம்மிடத்தில் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வரப்படுவார்கள்.

She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

அவர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடும் களிப்போடும் வந்து, ராஜ அரமனைக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பார்கள்.

With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

உமது பிதாக்களுக்குப் பதிலாக உமது குமாரர் இருப்பார்கள்; அவர்களைப் பூமியெங்கும் பிரபுக்களாக வைப்பீர்.

Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

உமது நாமத்தை எல்லாத் தலைமுறைகளிலும் பிரஸ்தாபப்படுத்துவேன்; இதினிமித்தம் ஜனங்கள் உம்மை என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள சதாகாலங்களிலும் துதிப்பார்கள்.

I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 46

தேவன் நமக்கு அடைக்கலமும் பெலனும், ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் அனுகூலமான துணையுமானவர்.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

ஆகையால் பூமி நிலைமாறினாலும், மலைகள் நடுச்சமுத்திரத்தில் சாய்ந்துபோனாலும்,

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

அதின் ஜலங்கள் கொந்தளித்துப் பொங்கி, அதின் பெருக்கினால் பர்வதங்கள் அதிர்ந்தாலும், நாம் பயப்படோம். (சேலா)

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

ஒரு நதியுண்டு, அதின் நீர்க்கால்கள் தேவனுடைய நகரத்தையும், உன்னதமானவர் வாசம்பண்ணும் பரிசுத்தஸ்தலத்தையும் சந்தோஷிப்பிக்கும்.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

தேவன் அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிறார், அது அசையாது; அதிகாலையிலே தேவன் அதற்குச் சகாயம் பண்ணுவார்.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

ஜாதிகள் கொந்தளித்தது, ராஜ்யங்கள் தத்தளித்தது; அவர் தமது சத்தத்தை முழங்கப்பண்ணினார், பூமி உருகிப்போயிற்று.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார்; யாக்கோபின் தேவன் நமக்கு உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமானவர். (சேலா)

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

பூமியிலே பாழ்க்கடிப்புகளை நடப்பிக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய செய்கைகளை வந்துபாருங்கள்.

Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

அவர் பூமியின் கடைமுனைமட்டும் யுத்தங்களை ஓயப்பண்ணுகிறார்; வில்லை ஒடித்து, ஈட்டியை முறிக்கிறார்; இரதங்களை நெருப்பினால் சுட்டெரிக்கிறார்.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

நீங்கள் அமர்ந்திருந்து, நானே தேவனென்று அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்; ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உயர்ந்திருப்பேன், பூமியிலே உயர்ந்திருப்பேன்.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார், யாக்கோபின் தேவன் நமக்கு உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமானவர். (சேலா)

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 47

சகல ஜனங்களே, கைகொட்டி, தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகக் கெம்பீரசத்தமாய் ஆர்ப்பரியுங்கள்.

O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

உன்னதமானவராகிய கர்த்தர் பயங்கரமானவரும், பூமியின் மீதெங்கும் மகத்துவமான ராஜாவுமாயிருக்கிறார்.

For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

ஜனங்களை நமக்கு வசப்படுத்தி, ஜாதிகளை நம்முடைய பாதங்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துவார்.

He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

தமக்குப் பிரியமான யாக்கோபின் சிறப்பான தேசத்தை நமக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகத் தெரிந்தளிப்பார். (சேலா)

He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

தேவன் ஆர்ப்பரிப்போடும், கர்த்தர் எக்காள சத்தத்தோடும் உயர எழுந்தருளினார்.

God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

தேவனைப் போற்றிப் பாடுங்கள், பாடுங்கள்; நம்முடைய ராஜாவைப் போற்றிப் பாடுங்கள், பாடுங்கள்.

Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

தேவன் பூமியனைத்திற்கும் ராஜா; கருத்துடனே அவரைப் போற்றிப் பாடுங்கள்.

For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

தேவன் ஜாதிகள்மேல் அரசாளுகிறார்; தேவன் தமது பரிசுத்த சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கிறார்.

God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

ஜனங்களின் பிரபுக்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனுடைய ஜனங்களாகச் சேர்க்கப்படுகிறார்கள்; பூமியின் கேடகங்கள் தேவனுடையவைகள்; அவர் மகா உன்னதமானவர்.

The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 48

கர்த்தர் பெரியவர், அவர் நமது தேவனுடைய நகரத்திலும், தமது பரிசுத்த பர்வதத்திலும் மிகவும் துதிக்கப்படத்தக்கவர்.

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

வடதிசையிலுள்ள சீயோன் பர்வதம் வடிப்பமான ஸ்தானமும் சர்வபூமியின் மகிழ்ச்சியுமாயிருக்கிறது, அதுவே மகாராஜாவின் நகரம்.

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

அதின் அரமனைகளில் தேவன் உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமாக அறியப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்.

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

இதோ, ராஜாக்கள் கூடிக்கொண்டு, ஏகமாய்க் கடந்துவந்தார்கள்.

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

அவர்கள் அதைக் கண்டபோது பிரமித்துக் கலங்கி விரைந்தோடினார்கள்.

They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

அங்கே நடுக்கங்கொண்டு, பிரசவ வேதனைப்படுகிற ஸ்திரீயைப்போல வேதனைப்பட்டார்கள்.

Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

கீழ்காற்றினால் தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்களை நீர் உடைக்கிறீர்.

Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

நாம் கேள்விப்பட்டபடியே நமது தேவனுடைய நகரமாகிய சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் நகரத்திலே கண்டோம்; தேவன் அதை என்றென்றைக்கும் ஸ்திரப்படுத்துவார். (சேலா)

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

தேவனே, உமது ஆலயத்தின் நடுவிலே, உமது கிருபையைச் சிந்தித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்.

We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

தேவனே, உமது நாமம் விளங்குகிறதுபோல உமது புகழ்ச்சியும் பூமியின் கடையாந்தரங்கள் பரியந்தமும் விளங்குகிறது; உமது வலதுகரம் நீதியால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.

According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

உம்முடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகளினிமித்தம் சீயோன் பர்வதம் மகிழ்வதாக, யூதாவின் குமாரத்திகள் களிகூருவார்களாக.

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

சீயோனைச் சுற்றி உலாவி, அதின் கொத்தளங்களை எண்ணுங்கள்.

Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

பின்வரும் சந்ததிக்கு நீங்கள் விவரிப்பதற்காக, அதின் அலங்கத்தைக் கவனித்து, அதின் அரமனைகளை உற்றுப்பாருங்கள்.

Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

இந்த தேவன் என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள சதாகாலங்களிலும் நம்முடைய தேவன்; மரணபரியந்தம் நம்மை நடத்துவார்.

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 49

ஜனங்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் இதைக் கேளுங்கள்.

Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

பூமியின் குடிகளே, சிறியோரும் பெரியோரும் ஐசுவரியவான்களும் எளியவர்களுமாகிய நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் ஏகமாய்ச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.

Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

என் வாய் ஞானத்தைப் பேசும்; என் இருதயம் உணர்வைத் தியானிக்கும்.

My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

என் செவியை உவமைமொழிக்குச் சாய்த்து, என் மறைபொருளைச் சுரமண்டலத்தின்மேல் வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

என்னைத் தொடருகிறவர்களுடைய அக்கிரமம் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொள்ளுந்தீங்குநாட்களில், நான் பயப்படவேண்டியதென்ன?

Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

தங்கள் செல்வத்தை நம்பி தங்கள் திரளான ஐசுவரியத்தினால் பெருமைபாராட்டுகிற,

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

ஒருவனாவது, தன் சகோதரன் அழிவைக் காணாமல் இனி என்றைக்கும் உயிரோடிருக்கும்படி,

None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

எவ்விதத்தினாலாவது அவனை மீட்டுக்கொள்ளவும், அவனிமித்தம் மீட்கும்பொருளை தேவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவுங்கூடாதே.

For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

அவர்கள் ஆத்துமமீட்பு மிகவும் அருமையாயிருக்கிறது; அது ஒருபோதும் முடியாது.

That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

ஞானிகளும் மரித்து, அஞ்ஞானிகளும் நிர்மூடரும் ஏகமாய் அழிந்து, தங்கள் ஆஸ்தியை மற்றவர்களுக்கு வைத்துப்போகிறதைக் காண்கிறான்.

For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

தங்கள் வீடுகள் நித்தியகாலமாகவும், தங்கள் வாசஸ்தலங்கள் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாகவும் இருக்குமென்பது அவர்கள் உள்ளத்தின் அபிப்பிராயம்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் நாமங்களைத் தங்கள் நிலங்களுக்குத் தரிக்கிறார்கள்.

Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

ஆகிலும் கனம்பொருந்தியவனாயிருக்கிற மனுஷன் நிலைத்திருக்கிறதில்லை; அழிந்துபோகும் மிருகங்களுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான்.

Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

இதுதான் அவர்கள் வழி, இதுதான் அவர்கள் பைத்தியம்; ஆகிலும் அவர்கள் சந்ததியார் அவர்கள் சொல்லை மெச்சிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள். (சேலா)

This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

ஆட்டுமந்தையைப்போல பாதாளத்திலே கிடத்தப்படுகிறார்கள்; மரணம் அவர்களை மேய்ந்துபோடும்; செம்மையானவர்கள் அதிகாலையில் அவர்களை ஆண்டுகொள்வார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாசஸ்தலத்தில் நிலைத்திருக்கக்கூடாதபடி அவர்களுடைய ரூபத்தைப் பாதாளம் அழிக்கும்.

Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

ஆனாலும் தேவன் என் ஆத்துமாவைப் பாதாளத்தின் வல்லமைக்குத் தப்புவித்து மீட்பார், அவர் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார். (சேலா)

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

ஒருவன் ஐசுவரியவானாகி, அவன் வீட்டின் மகிமை பெருகும்போது, நீ பயப்படாதே.

Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

அவன் மரிக்கும்போது ஒன்றும் கொண்டுபோவதில்லை; அவன் மகிமை அவனைப் பின்பற்றிச் செல்வதுமில்லை.

For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

அவன் உயிரோடிருக்கையில் தன் ஆத்துமாவை வாழ்த்தினாலும்: நீ உனக்கு நன்மையை நாடினாய் என்று மனுஷர் அவனைப் புகழந்தாலும்,

Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

அவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் வெளிச்சத்தைக் காணாத தன் பிதாக்களின் சந்ததியைச் சேருவான்.

He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

கனம் பொருந்தினவனாயிருந்தும் அறிவில்லாத மனுஷன் அழிந்துபோகும் மிருகங்களுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான்.

Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

லூக்கா அத்தியாயம் 4

இயேசு பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே நிறைந்தவராய் யோர்தானை விட்டுத் திரும்பி, ஆவியானவராலே வனாந்தரத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டு,

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

நாற்பதுநாள் பிசாசினால் சோதிக்கப்பட்டார். அந்த நாட்களில் அவர் ஒன்றும் புசியாதிருந்தார்; அந்த நாட்கள் முடிந்தபின்பு அவருக்குப் பசியுண்டாயிற்று.

Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

அப்பொழுது பிசாசு அவரை நோக்கி: நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரனேயானால், இந்தக் கல் அப்பமாகும்படி சொல்லும் என்றான்.

And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: மனுஷன் அப்பத்தினாலேமாத்திரமல்ல, தேவனுடைய ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையினாலும் பிழைப்பான் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே என்றார்.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

பின்பு பிசாசு அவரை உயர்ந்த மலையின்மேல் கொண்டுபோய், உலகத்தின் சகல ராஜ்யங்களையும் ஒரு நிமிஷத்திலே அவருக்குக் காண்பித்து:

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

இவைகள் எல்லாவற்றின்மேலுமுள்ள அதிகாரத்தையும் இவைகளின் மகிமையையும் உமக்குத் தருவேன், இவைகள் எனக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; எனக்கு இஷ்டமானவனுக்கு இவைகளைக் கொடுக்கிறேன்.

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

நீர் என்னைப் பணிந்துகொண்டால் எல்லாம் உம்முடையதாகும் என்று சொன்னான்.

If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

இயேசு அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: எனக்குப் பின்னாகப்போ சாத்தானே, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, அவர் ஒருவருக்கே ஆராதனைசெய்வாயாக என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே என்றார்.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், தேவாலயத்து உப்பரிகையின்மேல் அவரை நிறுத்தி: நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரனேயானால், இங்கேயிருந்து தாழக்குதியும்.

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

ஏனெனில், உம்மைக் காக்கும்படிக்குத் தம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்கு உம்மைக்குறித்துக் கட்டளையிடுவார் என்றும்,

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

உமது பாதம் கல்லில் இடறாதபடிக்கு, அவர்கள் உம்மைக் கைகளில் ஏந்திக்கொண்டுபோவார்கள் என்றும், எழுதியிருக்கிறது என்று சொன்னான்.

And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

அதற்கு இயேசு: உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பரீட்சை பாராதிருப்பாயாக என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறதே என்றார்.

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

பிசாசானவன் சோதனையெல்லாம் முடித்தபின்பு, சிலகாலம் அவரை விட்டு விலகிப்போனான்.

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

பின்பு இயேசு ஆவியானவருடைய பலத்தினாலே கலிலேயாவுக்குத் திரும்பிப் போனார். அவருடைய கீர்த்தி சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற தேசமெங்கும் பரம்பிற்று.

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

அவர்களுடைய ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் அவர் உபதேசித்து, எல்லாராலும் புகழப்பட்டார்.

And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

தாம் வளர்ந்த ஊராகிய நாசரேத்துக்கு அவர் வந்து, தம்முடைய வழக்கத்தின்படியே ஓய்வுநாளில் ஜெப ஆலயத்திலே பிரவேசித்து, வாசிக்க எழுந்து நின்றார்.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் புஸ்தகம் அவரிடத்தில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. அவர் புஸ்தகத்தை விரித்தபோது:

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் என்மேலிருக்கிறார்; தரித்திரருக்குச் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கிக்கும்படி என்னை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்; இருதயம் நருங்குண்டவர்களைக் குணமாக்கவும், சிறைப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு விடுதலையையும், குருடருக்குப் பார்வையையும் பிரசித்தப்படுத்தவும், நொறுங்குண்டவர்களை விடுதலையாக்கவும்,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

கர்த்தருடைய அநுக்கிரக வருஷத்தைப் பிரசித்தப்படுத்தவும், என்னை அனுப்பினார், என்று எழுதியிருக்கிற இடத்தை அவர் கண்டு,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

வாசித்து, புஸ்தகத்தைச் சுருட்டி, பணிவிடைக்காரனிடத்தில் கொடுத்து, உட்கார்ந்தார். ஜெப ஆலயத்திலுள்ள எல்லாருடைய கண்களும் அவர்மேல் நோக்கமாயிருந்தது.

And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களோடே பேசத்தொடங்கி: உங்கள் காதுகள் கேட்க இந்த வேதவாக்கியம் இன்றையத்தினம் நிறைவேறிற்று என்றார்.

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

எல்லாரும் அவருக்கு நற்சாட்சி கொடுத்து, அவருடைய வாயிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட கிருபையுள்ள வார்த்தைகளைக் குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: இவன் யோசேப்பின் குமாரன் அல்லவா என்றார்கள்.

And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: வைத்தியனே, உன்னைத்தானே குணமாக்கிக்கொள் என்கிற பழமொழியைச் சொல்லி, நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டபடி கப்பர்நகூமூரில் உன்னால் செய்யப்பட்ட கிரியைகள் எவைகளோ அவைகளை உன் ஊராகிய இவ்விடத்திலும் செய் என்று நீங்கள் என்னுடன் சொல்லுவீர்கள் என்பது நிச்சயம்.

And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

ஆனாலும் தீர்க்கதரிசி ஒருவனும் தன் ஊரிலே அங்கீகரிக்கப்படமாட்டான் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

அன்றியும் எலியாவின் நாட்களிலே மூன்று வருஷமும் ஆறுமாதமும் வானம் அடைபட்டு, தேசமெங்கும் மிகுந்த பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிருந்தபோது, இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள் அநேகம் விதவைகள் இருந்தார்கள்.

But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

ஆயினும் எலியா சீதோன் நாட்டிலுள்ள சரெப்தா ஊரிலிருந்த ஒரு விதவையினிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டானேயல்லாமல் மற்றொருத்தியினிடத்திற்கும் அனுப்பப்படவில்லை.

But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

அல்லாமலும் எலிசா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் காலத்திலே இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளே அநேகம் குஷ்டரோகிகள் இருந்தார்கள்; ஆயினும் சீரியா தேசத்தானாகிய நாகமானேயல்லாமல் அவர்களில் வேறொருவனும் சுத்தமாக்கப்படவில்லை என்று சத்தியத்தின்படியே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

ஜெபஆலயத்திலிருந்த எல்லாரும், இவைகளைக் கேட்டபொழுது, கோபமூண்டு,

And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,

எழுந்திருந்து, அவரை ஊருக்குப் புறம்பே தள்ளி, தங்கள் ஊர் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்த செங்குத்தான மலையின் சிகரத்திலிருந்து அவரைத் தலைகீழாய்த் தள்ளிவிடும்படிக்கு அவ்விடத்திற்குக் கொண்டு போனார்கள்.

And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

அவரோ அவர்கள் நடுவினின்று கடந்துபோய்விட்டார்.

But he passing through the midst of them went his way,

பின்பு அவர் கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள கப்பர்நகூம் பட்டணத்துக்கு வந்து, ஓய்வு நாட்களில் ஜனங்களுக்குப் போதகம்பண்ணினார்.

And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

அவருடைய வசனம் அதிகாரமுள்ளதாயிருந்தபடியால் அவருடைய போதகத்தைக்குறித்து அவர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

ஜெப ஆலயத்திலே அசுத்த ஆவி பிடித்திருந்த ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்.

And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

அவன்: ஐயோ! நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவே, எங்களுக்கும் உமக்கும் என்ன? எங்களைக் கெடுக்கவா வந்தீர்? உம்மை இன்னார் என்று அறிவேன்; நீர் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்தர் என்று உரத்த சத்தமிட்டான்.

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

அதற்கு இயேசு: நீ பேசாமல் இவனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போ என்று அதை அதட்டினார்; அப்பொழுது பிசாசு அவனை ஜனங்களின் நடுவே விழத்தள்ளி, அவனுக்கு ஒரு சேதமுஞ்செய்யாமல், அவனை விட்டுப் போய்விட்டது.

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

எல்லாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: இது என்ன வார்த்தையோ! அதிகாரத்தோடும் வல்லமையோடும் அசுத்த ஆவிகளுக்கும் கட்டளையிடுகிறார், அவைகள் புறப்பட்டுப் போகிறதே என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

அவருடைய கீர்த்தி சுற்றிலுமிருந்த நாடுகளிலுள்ள இடங்களிலெல்லாம் பிரசித்தமாயிற்று.

And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

பின்பு அவர் ஜெப ஆலயத்தை விட்டுப்புறப்பட்டு, சீமோன் வீட்டில் பிரவேசித்தார், சீமோனுடைய மாமி கடும் ஜூரமாய்க் கிடந்தாள். அவளுக்காக அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

அவர் அவளிடத்தில் குனிந்து நின்று, ஜூரம் நீங்கும்படி கட்டளையிட்டார், அது அவளை விட்டு நீங்கிற்று; உடனே அவள் எழுந்திருந்து அவர்களுக்குப் பணிவிடைசெய்தாள்.

And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

சூரியன் அஸ்தமித்தபோது, ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் தங்களுக்குள்ளே பலபல வியாதிகளால் வருத்தப்பட்டவர்களை அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவர்மேலும் அவர் தம்முடைய கைகளை வைத்து, அவர்களைச் சொஸ்தமாக்கினார்.

Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

பிசாசுகளும்: நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்து என்று சத்தமிட்டு, அநேகரைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டது. அவரைக் கிறிஸ்து என்று பிசாசுகள் அறிந்திருந்தபடியால் அவர் அவைகளைப் பேசவொட்டாமல் அதட்டினார்.

And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

உதயமானபோது, அவர் புறப்பட்டு, வனாந்தரமான ஓரிடத்திற்குப் போனார். திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவரைத் தேடி, அவரிடத்தில் வந்து, தங்களை விட்டுப் போகாதபடிக்கு அவரை நிறுத்திக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.

அவரோ அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் மற்ற ஊர்களிலும் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கிக்கவேண்டும், இதற்காகவே அனுப்பப்பட்டேன் என்றார்.

And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

அந்தப்படியே கலிலேயா நாட்டிலுள்ள ஜெபஆலயங்களில் பிரசங்கம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டுவந்தார்.

And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
