சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 38

கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய கோபத்தில் என்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளாதேயும்; உம்முடைய உக்கிரத்தில் என்னைத் தண்டியாதேயும்.

O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

உம்முடைய அம்புகள் எனக்குள்ளே தைத்திருக்கிறது; உமது கை என்னை இருத்துகிறது.

For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

உமது கோபத்தினால் என் மாம்சத்தில் ஆரோக்கியமில்லை; என் பாவத்தினால் என் எலும்புகளில் சவுக்கியமில்லை.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

என் அக்கிரமங்கள் என் தலைக்கு மேலாகப் பெருகிற்று, அவைகள் பாரச்சுமையைப்போல என்னால் தாங்கக்கூடாத பாரமாயிற்று.

For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

என் மதிகேட்டினிமித்தம் என் புண்கள் அழுகி நாற்றமெடுத்தது.

My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

நான் வேதனைப்பட்டு ஒடுங்கினேன்; நாள் முழுவதும் துக்கப்பட்டுத் திரிகிறேன்.

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

என் குடல்கள் எரிபந்தமாய் எரிகிறது; என் மாம்சத்தில் ஆரோக்கியம் இல்லை.

For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

நான் பெலனற்றுப்போய், மிகவும் நொறுக்கப்பட்டேன்; என் இருதயத்தின் கொந்தளிப்பினால் கதறுகிறேன்.

I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

ஆண்டவரே, என் ஏங்கலெல்லாம் உமக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிறது; என் தவிப்பு உமக்கு மறைவாயிருக்கவில்லை.

Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

என் உள்ளம் குழம்பி அலைகிறது; என் பெலன் என்னை விட்டு விலகி, என் கண்களின் ஒளி முதலாய் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று.

My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

என் சிநேகிதரும் என் தோழரும் என் வாதையைக் கண்டு விலகுகிறார்கள்; என் இனத்தாரும் தூரத்திலே நிற்கிறார்கள்.

My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

என் பிராணனை வாங்கத்தேடுகிறவர்கள் எனக்குக் கண்ணிகளை வைக்கிறார்கள்; எனக்குப் பொல்லாங்கு தேடுகிறவர்கள் கேடானவைகளைப் பேசி, நாள்முழுவதும் வஞ்சனைகளை யோசிக்கிறார்கள்.

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

நானோ செவிடனைப்போலக் கேளாதவனாகவும், ஊமையனைப்போல வாய் திறவாதவனாகவும் இருக்கிறேன்.

But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

காதுகேளாதவனும், தன் வாயில் மறுஉத்தரவுகள் இல்லாதவனுமாயிருக்கிற மனுஷனைப் போலானேன்.

Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

கர்த்தாவே, உமக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறேன்; என் தேவனாகிய ஆண்டவரே, நீர் மறுஉத்தரவு கொடுப்பீர்.

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

அவர்கள் என்னிமித்தம் சந்தோஷப்படாதபடிக்கு இப்படிச் சொன்னேன்; என் கால் தவறும்போது என்மேல் பெருமை பாராட்டுவார்களே.

For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

நான் தடுமாறி விழ ஏதுவாயிருக்கிறேன்; என் துக்கம் எப்பொழுதும் என் முன்பாக இருக்கிறது.

For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

என் அக்கிரமத்தை நான் அறிக்கையிட்டு, என் பாவத்தினிமித்தம் விசாரப்படுகிறேன்.

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

என் சத்துருக்கள் வாழ்ந்து பலத்திருக்கிறார்கள்; முகாந்தரமில்லாமல் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்கள் பெருகியிருக்கிறார்கள்.

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

நான் நன்மையைப் பின்பற்றுகிறபடியால், நன்மைக்குத் தீமை செய்கிறவர்கள் என்னை விரோதிக்கிறார்கள்.

They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

கர்த்தாவே, என்னைக் கைவிடாதேயும்; என் தேவனே, எனக்குத் தூரமாயிராதேயும்.

Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

என் இரட்சிப்பாகிய ஆண்டவரே, எனக்குச் சகாயஞ்செய்யத் தீவிரியும்.

Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 39

என் நாவினால் பாவஞ்செய்யாதபடிக்கு நான் என் வழிகளைக் காத்து, துன்மார்க்கன் எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்குமட்டும் என் வாயைக் கடிவாளத்தால் அடக்கிவைப்பேன் என்றேன்.

I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

நான் மவுனமாகி, ஊமையனாயிருந்தேன், நலமானதையும் பேசாமல் அமர்ந்திருந்தேன்; ஆனாலும் என் துக்கம் அதிகரித்தது;

I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

என் இருதயம் எனக்குள்ளே அனல்கொண்டது; நான் தியானிக்கையில் அக்கினி மூண்டது; அப்பொழுது என் நாவினால் விண்ணப்பம் செய்தேன்.

My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

கர்த்தாவே, நான் எவ்வளவாய் நிலையற்றவன் என்று உணரும்படி என்முடிவையும், என் நாட்களின் அளவு இவ்வளவு என்பதையும் எனக்குத் தெரிவியும்.

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

இதோ, என் நாட்களை நாலு விரற்கடையளவாக்கினீர்; என் ஆயுசு உமது பார்வைக்கு இல்லாதது போலிருக்கிறது; எந்த மனுஷனும் மாயையே என்பது நிச்சயம். (சேலா)

Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

வேஷமாகவே மனுஷன் திரிகிறான்; விருதாவாகவே சஞ்சலப்படுகிறான்; ஆஸ்தியைச் சேர்க்கிறான். யார் அதை வாரிக்கொள்ளுவான் என்று அறியான்.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

இப்போதும் ஆண்டவரே, நான் எதற்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்? நீரே என் நம்பிக்கை.

And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

என் மீறுதல்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலுமிருந்து என்னை விடுதலையாக்கும், மூடனுடைய நிந்தனைக்கு என்னை ஒப்புக்கொடாதேயும்.

Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

நீரே இதைச் செய்தீர் என்று நான் என் வாயைத் திறவாமல் மவுனமாயிருந்தேன்.

I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

என்னிலிருந்து உம்முடைய வாதையை எடுத்துப்போடும்; உமது கரத்தின் அடிகளால் நான் சோர்ந்து போனேன்.

Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தம் நீர் மனுஷனைக் கடிந்துகொண்டு தண்டிக்கிறபோது, அவன் வடிவைப் பொட்டரிப்பைப்போல் அழியப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; நிச்சயமாக எந்த மனுஷனும் மாயையே. (சேலா)

When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

கர்த்தாவே, என் ஜெபத்தைக் கேட்டு, என் கூப்பிடுதலுக்குச் செவிகொடும்; என் கண்ணீருக்கு மவுனமாயிராதேயும்; என் பிதாக்களெல்லாரையும்போல நானும் உமக்குமுன்பாக அந்நியனும் பரதேசியுமாயிருக்கிறேன்.

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

நான் இனி இராமற்போகுமுன்னே, தேறுதலடையும்படி என்னிடத்தில் பொறுமையாயிரும்.

O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 40

கர்த்தருக்காகப் பொறுமையுடன் காத்திருந்தேன்; அவர் என்னிடமாய்ச் சாய்ந்து, என் கூப்பிடுதலைக் கேட்டார்.

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

பயங்கரமான குழியிலும் உளையான சேற்றிலுமிருந்து என்னைத் தூக்கியெடுத்து, என் கால்களைக் கன்மலையின்மேல் நிறுத்தி, என் அடிகளை உறுதிப்படுத்தி,

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

நமது தேவனைத் துதிக்கும் புதுப்பாட்டை அவர் என் வாயிலே கொடுத்தார்; அநேகர் அதைக் கண்டு, பயந்து, கர்த்தரை நம்புவார்கள்.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

அகங்காரிகளையும் பொய்யைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறவர்களையும் நோக்காமல், கர்த்தரையே தன் நம்பிக்கையாக வைக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்.

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எங்கள் நிமித்தஞ்செய்த உம்முடைய அதிசயங்களும் உம்முடைய யோசனைகளும் அநேகமாயிருக்கிறது; ஒருவரும் அவைகளை உமக்கு விவரித்துச் சொல்லி முடியாது. நான் அவைகளைச் சொல்லி அறிவிக்கவேண்டுமானால் அவைகள் எண்ணிக்கைக்கு மேலானவைகள்.

Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

பலியையும் காணிக்கையையும் நீர் விரும்பாமல், என் செவிகளைத் திறந்தீர்; சர்வாங்க தகனபலியையும் பாவநிவாரணபலியையும் நீர் கேட்கவில்லை.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

அப்பொழுது நான்: இதோ, வருகிறேன், புஸ்தகச்சுருளில் என்னைக் குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறது;

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

என் தேவனே, உமக்குப் பிரியமானதைச் செய்ய விரும்புகிறேன்; உமது நியாயப்பிரமாணம் என் உள்ளத்திற்குள் இருக்கிறது என்று சொன்னேன்.

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

மகா சபையிலே நீதியைப் பிரசங்கித்தேன்; என் உதடுகளை மூடேன், கர்த்தாவே, நீர் அதை அறிவீர்.

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

உம்முடைய நீதியை நான் என் இருதயத்திற்குள் மறைத்து வைக்கவில்லை; உமது சத்தியத்தையும் உமது இரட்சிப்பையும் சொல்லியிருக்கிறேன்; உமது கிருபையையும் உமது உண்மையையும் மகா சபைக்கு அறிவியாதபடிக்கு நான் ஒளித்துவைக்கவில்லை.

I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

கர்த்தாவே நீர் உம்முடைய இரக்கங்களை எனக்குக் கிடையாமற்போகப்பண்ணாதேயும்; உமது கிருபையும் உமது உண்மையும் எப்பொழுதும் என்னைக் காக்கக்கடவது.

Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

எண்ணிக்கைக்கு அடங்காத தீமைகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது, என் அக்கிரமங்கள் என்னைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடித்தது, நான் நிமிர்ந்து பார்க்கக்கூடாதிருக்கிறது, அவைகள் என் தலைமயிரிலும் அதிகமாயிருக்கிறது, என் இருதயம் சோர்ந்துபோகிறது.

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

கர்த்தாவே, என்னை விடுவித்தருளும்; கர்த்தாவே, எனக்குச் சகாயம்பண்ணத் தீவிரியும்.

Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

என் பிராணனை அழிக்கத் தேடுகிறவர்கள் ஏகமாய் வெட்கி நாணி, எனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்ய விரும்புகிறவர்கள் பின்னிட்டு இலச்சையடைவார்களாக.

Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

என்பேரில் ஆ ஆ! ஆ ஆ! என்று சொல்லுகிறவர்கள், தங்கள் வெட்கத்தின் பலனையடைந்து கைவிடப்படுவார்களாக.

Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

உம்மைத் தேடுகிற அனைவரும் உமக்குள் மகிழ்ந்து சந்தோஷப்படுவார்களாக; உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பை விரும்புகிறவர்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு மகிமை உண்டாவதாக என்று எப்பொழுதும் சொல்வார்களாக.

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

நான்சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவன், கர்த்தரோ என்மேல் நினைவாயிருக்கிறார்; தேவரீர் என் துணையும் என்னை விடுவிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறீர்; என் தேவனே, தாமதியாதேயும்.

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 41

சிறுமைப்பட்டவன்மேல் சிந்தையுள்ளவன் பாக்கியவான்; தீங்குநாளில் கர்த்தர் அவனை விடுவிப்பார்.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

கர்த்தர் அவனைப் பாதுகாத்து அவனை உயிரோடே வைப்பார்; பூமியில் அவன் பாக்கியவானாயிருப்பான்; அவன் சத்துருக்களின் இஷ்டத்திற்கு நீர் அவனை ஒப்புக்கொடீர்.

The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

படுக்கையின்மேல் வியாதியாய்க் கிடக்கிற அவனைக் கர்த்தர் தாங்குவார்; அவனுடைய வியாதியிலே அவன் படுக்கை முழுவதையும் மாற்றிப்போடுவீர்.

The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

கர்த்தாவே, என்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும்; உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்தேன், என் ஆத்துமாவைக் குணமாக்கும் என்று நான் சொன்னேன்.

I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

அவன் எப்பொழுது சாவான், அவன் பேர் எப்பொழுது அழியும்? என்று என் சத்துருக்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.

Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

ஒருவன் என்னைப் பார்க்கவந்தால் வஞ்சனையாய்ப் பேசுகிறான்; அவன் தன் இருதயத்தில் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சேகரித்துக்கொண்டு, தெருவிலே போய், அதைத் தூற்றுகிறான்.

And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

என் பகைஞரெல்லாரும் என்மேல் ஏகமாய் முணுமுணுத்து, எனக்கு விரோதமாயிருந்து, எனக்குப் பொல்லாங்கு நினைத்து,

All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

தீராவியாதி அவனைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது; படுக்கையில் கிடக்கிற அவன் இனி எழுந்திருப்பதில்லை என்கிறார்கள்.

An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

என் பிராணசிநேகிதனும், நான் நம்பினவனும், என் அப்பம் புசித்தவனுமாகிய மனுஷனும், என்மேல் தன் குதிகாலைத் தூக்கினான்.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எனக்கு இரங்கி, நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சரிக்கட்ட என்னை எழுந்திருக்கப்பண்ணும்.

But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

என் சத்துரு என்மேல் ஜெயங்கொள்ளாததினால், நீர் என்மேல் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறீரென்று அறிவேன்.

By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

நீர் என் உத்தமத்திலே என்னைத் தாங்கி, என்றென்றைக்கும் உம்முடைய சமுகத்தில் என்னை நிலைநிறுத்துவீர்.

And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அநாதியாய் என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள சதாகாலங்களிலும் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படத்தக்கவர். ஆமென், ஆமென்.

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 42

மானானது நீரோடைகளை வாஞ்சித்துக் கதறுவதுபோல, தேவனே, என் ஆத்துமா உம்மை வாஞ்சித்துக் கதறுகிறது.

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

என் ஆத்துமா தேவன்மேல், ஜீவனுள்ள தேவன்மேலேயே தாகமாயிருக்கிறது; நான் எப்பொழுது தேவனுடைய சந்நிதியில் வந்து நிற்பேன்?

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

உன் தேவன் எங்கே என்று அவர்கள் நாள்தோறும் என்னிடத்தில் சொல்லுகிறபடியால், இரவும் பகலும் என் கண்ணீரே எனக்கு உணவாயிற்று.

My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

முன்னே நான் பண்டிகையை ஆசரிக்கிற ஜனங்களோடே கூட நடந்து, கூட்டத்தின் களிப்பும் துதியுமான சத்தத்தோடே தேவாலயத்திற்குப் போய்வருவேனே; இவைகளை நான் நினைக்கும்போது என் உள்ளம் எனக்குள்ளே உருகுகிறது.

When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

என் ஆத்துமாவே, நீ ஏன் கலங்குகிறாய்? ஏன் எனக்குள் தியங்குகிறாய்? தேவனை நோக்கிக் காத்திரு; அவர் சமுகத்து இரட்சிப்பினிமித்தம் நான் இன்னும் அவரைத் துதிப்பேன்.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

என் தேவனே, என் ஆத்துமா எனக்குள் கலங்குகிறது; ஆகையால் யோர்தான் தேசத்திலும் எர்மோன் மலைகளிலும் சிறுமலையிலுமிருந்து உம்மை நினைக்கிறேன்.

O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.

உமது மதகுகளின் இரைச்சலால் ஆழத்தை ஆழம் கூப்பிடுகிறது; உமது அலைகளும் திரைகளும் எல்லாம் என்மேல் புரண்டுபோகிறது.

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

ஆகிலும் கர்த்தர் பகற்காலத்திலே தமது கிருபையைக் கட்டளையிடுகிறார்; இராக்காலத்திலே அவரைப் பாடும் பாட்டு என் வாயிலிருக்கிறது; என் ஜீவனுடைய தேவனை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்கிறேன்.

Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

நான் என் கன்மலையாகிய தேவனை நோக்கி: ஏன் என்னை மறந்தீர்? சத்துருவினால் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டு, நான் ஏன் துக்கத்துடனே திரியவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லுகிறேன்.

I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

உன் தேவன் எங்கே என்று என் சத்துருக்கள் நாள்தோறும் என்னோடே சொல்லி, என்னை நிந்திப்பது என் எலும்புகளை உருவக்குத்துகிறதுபோல் இருக்கிறது.

As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?

என் ஆத்துமாவே, நீ ஏன் கலங்குகிறாய்? ஏன் எனக்குள் தியங்குகிறாய்? தேவனை நோக்கிக் காத்திரு; என் முகத்திற்கு இரட்சிப்பும் என் தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறவரை நான் இன்னும் துதிப்பேன்.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 43

தேவனே, நீர் என் நியாயத்தை விசாரித்து, பக்தியில்லாத ஜாதியாரோடு எனக்காக வழக்காடி, சூதும் அநியாயமுமான மனுஷனுக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவியும்.

Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

என் அரணாகிய தேவன் நீர்; ஏன் என்னைத் தள்ளிவிடுகிறீர்? சத்துருவினால் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டு நான் ஏன் துக்கத்துடனே திரியவேண்டும்?

For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

உமது வெளிச்சத்தையும் உமது சத்தியத்தையும் அனுப்பியருளும்; அவைகள் என்னை நடத்தி, உமது பரிசுத்த பர்வதத்திற்கும் உமது வாசஸ்தலங்களுக்கும் என்னைக் கொண்டுபோவதாக.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

அப்பொழுது நான் தேவனுடைய பீடத்தண்டைக்கும், எனக்கு ஆனந்த மகிழ்ச்சியாயிருக்கிற தேவனிடத்திற்கும் பிரவேசிப்பேன். தேவனே, என் தேவனே, உம்மைச் சுரமண்டலத்தால் துதிப்பேன்.

Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

என் ஆத்துமாவே, நீ ஏன் கலங்குகிறாய்? ஏன் எனக்குள் தியங்குகிறாய்? தேவனை நோக்கிக் காத்திரு; என் முகத்திற்கு இரட்சிப்பும் என் தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறவரை நான் இன்னும் துதிப்பேன்;

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

திபேரியுராயன் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணின பதினைந்தாம் வருஷத்திலே, பொந்தியுபிலாத்து யூதேயாவுக்குத் தேசாதிபதியாயும், ஏரோது காற்பங்கு தேசமாகிய கலிலேயாவுக்கு அதிபதியாயும், அவன் சகோதரனாகிய பிலிப்பு காற்பங்கு தேசமாகிய இத்துரேயாவுக்கும் திராகொனித்தி நாட்டிற்கும் அதிபதியாயும், லிசானியா காற்பங்கு தேசமாகிய அபிலேனேக்கு அதிபதியாயும்,

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,

அன்னாவும் காய்பாவும் பிரதானஆசாரியராயும் இருந்தகாலத்தில் வனாந்தரத்திலே சகரியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவானுக்கு தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை உண்டாயிற்று.

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

அப்பொழுது: கர்த்தருக்கு வழியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துங்கள், அவருக்குப் பாதைகளைச் செவ்வைபண்ணுங்கள் என்றும்,

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

பள்ளங்களெல்லாம் நிரப்பப்படும், சகல மலைகளும் குன்றுகளும் தாழ்த்தப்படும், கோணலானவைகள் செவ்வையாகும், கரடானவைகள் சமமாகும் என்றும்,

As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

மாம்சமான யாவரும் தேவனுடைய இரட்சிப்பைக் காண்பார்கள் என்றும், வனாந்தரத்திலே கூப்பிடுகிறவனுடைய சத்தம் உண்டாகும் என்று ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் ஆகமத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபிரகாரம்,

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

அவன் யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அருகான தேசமெங்கும் போய், பாவமன்னிப்புக்கென்று மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கேற்ற ஞானஸ்நானத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கித்தான்.

And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

அவன், தன்னிடத்தில் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறும்படிக்குப் புறப்பட்டுவந்த திரளான ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: விரியன்பாம்புக் குட்டிகளே! வருங்கோபத்துக்குத் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள உங்களுக்கு வகைகாட்டினவன் யார்?

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கு ஏற்ற கனிகளைக் கொடுங்கள்; ஆபிரகாம் எங்களுக்குத் தகப்பன் என்று உங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லத்தொடங்காதிருங்கள்; தேவன் இந்தக் கல்லுகளினாலே ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளை உண்டுபண்ண வல்லவராயிருக்கிறார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

இப்பொழுதே கோடரியானது மரங்களின் வேர் அருகே வைத்திருக்கிறது; ஆகையால் நல்ல கனிகொடாத மரமெல்லாம் வெட்டுண்டு அக்கினியிலே போடப்படும் என்றான்.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: அப்படியானால் நாங்கள் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

அவர்களுக்கு அவன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இரண்டு அங்கிகளையுடையவன் இல்லாதவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கக்கடவன்; ஆகாரத்தை உடையவனும் அப்படியே செய்யக்கடவன் என்றான்.

He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

ஆயக்காரரும் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறவந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: போதகரே, நாங்கள் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?

அதற்கு அவன்: உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறதற்கு அதிகமாய் ஒன்றும் வாங்காதிருங்கள் என்றான்.

And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

போர்ச்சேவகரும் அவனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் ஒருவருக்கும் இடுக்கண்செய்யாமலும் பொய்யாய்க் குற்றஞ்சாட்டாமலும், உங்கள் சம்பளமே போதுமென்றும் இருங்கள் என்றான்.

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

யோவானைக்குறித்து: இவன்தான் கிறிஸ்துவோ என்று ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் எண்ணங்கொண்டு, தங்கள் இருதயங்களில் யோசனையாயிருக்கையில்,

And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;

யோவான் எல்லாருக்கும் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் ஜலத்தினால் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங் கொடுக்கிறேன், என்னிலும் வல்லவர் ஒருவர் வருகிறார், அவருடைய பாதரட்சைகளின் வாரை அவிழ்க்கிறதற்கும் நான் பாத்திரன் அல்ல, அவர் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலும் அக்கினியினாலும் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுப்பார்.

John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

தூற்றுக்கூடை அவர் கையில் இருக்கிறது, அவர் தமது களத்தை நன்றாய் விளக்கி, கோதுமையைத் தமது களஞ்சியத்தில் சேர்ப்பார்; பதரையோ அவியாத அக்கினியினால் சுட்டெரிப்பார் என்றான்.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

வேறு அநேக புத்திமதிகளையும் அவன் ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லிப் பிரசங்கித்தான்.

And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.

காற்பங்கு தேசாதிபதியாகிய ஏரோது தன் சகோதரனான பிலிப்புவின் மனைவி ஏரோதியாளினிமித்தமாகவும், தான் செய்த மற்றப் பொல்லாங்குகளினிமித்தமாகவும், யோவானாலே கடிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டபோது,

But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,

தான் செய்த மற்றெல்லாப் பொல்லாங்குகளும் தவிர, யோவானையும் காவலில் அடைத்துவைத்தான்.

Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் ஞானஸ்நானம்பெற்றபோது, இயேசுவும் ஞானஸ்நானம்பெற்று, ஜெபம்பண்ணுகையில், வானம் திறக்கப்பட்டது;

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் ரூபங்கொண்டு புறாவைப்போல அவர்மேல் இறங்கினார். வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தமும் உண்டாகி: நீர் என்னுடைய நேசகுமாரன், உம்மில் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறேன் என்று உரைத்தது.

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
