சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 1

துன்மார்க்கருடைய ஆலோசனையில் நடவாமலும், பாவிகளுடைய வழியில் நில்லாமலும், பரியாசக்காரர் உட்காரும் இடத்தில் உட்காராமலும்,

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தில் பிரியமாயிருந்து, இரவும் பகலும் அவருடைய வேதத்தில் தியானமாயிருக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

அவன் நீர்க்கால்களின் ஓரமாய் நடப்பட்டு, தன் காலத்தில் தன் கனியைத் தந்து, இலையுதிராதிருக்கிற மரத்தைப்போலிருப்பான். அவன் செய்வதெல்லாம் வாய்க்கும்.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

துன்மார்க்கரோ அப்படியிராமல், காற்றுப் பறக்கடிக்கும் பதரைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

ஆகையால் துன்மார்க்கர் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பிலும், பாவிகள் நீதிமான்களின் சபையிலும் நிலைநிற்பதில்லை.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

கர்த்தர் நீதிமான்களின் வழியை அறிந்திருக்கிறார்; துன்மார்க்கரின் வழியோ அழியும்.

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 2

ஜாதிகள் கொந்தளிப்பானேன்? ஐனங்கள் விருதாக்காரியத்தைச் சிந்திப்பானேன்?

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகவும், அவர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவருக்கு விரோதமாகவும், பூமியின் இராஜாக்கள் எழும்பி நின்று, அதிகாரிகள் ஏகமாய் ஆலோசனைபண்ணி:

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

'அவர்கள் கட்டுகளை அறுத்து, அவர்கள் கயிறுகளை நம்மைவிட்டு எறிந்துபோடுவோம்' என்கிறார்கள்.

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

பரலோகத்தில் வீற்றிருக்கிறவர் நகைப்பார்; ஆண்டவர் அவர்களை இகழுவார்.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

அப்பொழுது அவர் தமது கோபத்திலே அவர்களோடே பேசுவார். தமது உக்கிரத்திலே அவர்களைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணுவார்.

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

'நான் என்னுடைய பரிசுத்தபர்வதமாகிய சீயோனில் என்னுடைய இராஜாவை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி வைத்தேன்' என்றார்.

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

தீர்மானத்தின் விவரம் சொல்லுவேன்; கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி, 'நீர் என்னுடைய குமாரன், இன்று நான் உம்மை ஜநிப்பித்தேன்;

I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

என்னைக் கேளும், அப்பொழுது ஜாதிகளை உமக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகவும், பூமியின் எல்லைகளை உமக்குச் சொந்தமாகவும் கொடுப்பேன்;

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

இரும்புக் கோலால் அவர்களை நொறுக்கி, குயக்கலத்தைப்போல் அவர்களை உடைத்துப்போடுவீர்' என்று சொன்னார்.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

இப்போதும் இராஜாக்களே, உணர்வடையுங்கள், பூமியின் நியாயாதிபதிகளே, எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

பயத்துடனே கர்த்தரைச் சேவியுங்கள், நடுக்கத்துடனே களிகூருங்கள்.

Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

குமாரன் கோபங்கொள்ளாமலும், நீங்கள் வழியிலே அழியாமலும் இருக்கும்படிக்கு, அவரை முத்தஞ்செய்யுங்கள்; கொஞ்சக்காலத்திலே அவருடைய கோபம் பற்றியெரியும்; அவரை அண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிற யாவரும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 3

கர்த்தாவே, என் சத்துருக்கள் எவ்வளவாய்ப் பெருகியிருக்கிறார்கள்! எனக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்கள் அநேகர்.

LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

தேவனிடத்தில் அவனுக்கு இரட்சிப்பு இல்லை என்று, என் ஆத்துமாவைக் குறித்துச் சொல்லுகிறவர்கள் அநேகராயிருக்கிறார்கள். (சேலா)

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

ஆனாலும் கர்த்தாவே, நீர் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துள்ள கேடகமும், என் மகிமையும், என் தலையை உயர்த்துகிறவருமாயிருக்கிறீர்.

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிச் சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்டேன்; அவர் தமது பரிசுத்த பர்வதத்திலிருந்து எனக்குச் பதிலருளினார். (சேலா)

I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

நான் படுத்து நித்திரை செய்தேன்; விழித்துக்கொண்டேன்; கர்த்தர் என்னைத் தாங்குகிறார்.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

எனக்கு விரோதமாகச் சுற்றிலும் படையெடுத்துவருகிற பதினாயிரம்பேருக்கும் நான் பயப்படேன்.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

கர்த்தாவே, எழுந்தருளும்; என் தேவனே, என்னை இரட்சியும். நீர் என் பகைஞர் எல்லாரையும் தாடையிலே அடித்து, துன்மார்க்கருடைய பற்களைத் தகர்த்துப்போட்டீர்.

Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

இரட்சிப்பு கர்த்தருடையது; தேவரீருடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் உம்முடைய ஜனத்தின்மேல் இருப்பதாக. (சேலா)

Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 4

என் நீதியின் தேவனே, நான் கூப்பிடுகையில் எனக்குச் பதிலருளும்; நெருக்கத்தில் இருந்த எனக்கு விசாலமுண்டாக்கினீர்; எனக்கு இரங்கி, என் விண்ணப்பதைக் கேட்டருளும்.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

மனுபுத்திரரே, எதுவரைக்கும் என் மகிமையை அவமானப்படுத்தி, வீணானதை விரும்பி, பொய்யை நாடுவீர்கள். (சேலா)

O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

பக்தியுள்ளவனைக் கர்த்தர் தமக்காகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டாரென்று அறியுங்கள்; நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகையில் அவர் கேட்பார்.

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

நீங்கள் கோபங்கொண்டாலும், பாவஞ் செய்யாதிருங்கள்; உங்கள் படுக்கையிலே உங்கள் இருதயத்தில் பேசிக்கொண்டு அமர்ந்திருங்கள். (சேலா)

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

நீதியின் பலிகளைச் செலுத்தி, கர்த்தர்மேல் நம்பிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

எங்களுக்கு நன்மை காண்பிப்பவன் யார்? என்று சொல்லுகிறவர்கள் அநேகர்; கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய முகத்தின் ஒளியை எங்கள்மேல் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணும்.

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

அவர்களுக்குத் தானியமும் திராட்சைரசமும் பெருகியிருக்கிற காலத்தின் சந்தோஷத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும், அதிக சந்தோஷத்தை என் இருதயத்தில் தந்தீர்.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

சமாதானத்தோடே படுத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரைசெய்வேன்; கர்த்தாவே, நீர் ஒருவரே என்னைச் சுகமாய்த் தங்கப்பண்ணுகிறீர்.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 5

கர்த்தாவே, என் வார்த்தைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடும், என் தியானத்தைக் கவனியும்.

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

நான் உம்மையே நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணுகிறேன்; என் இராஜாவே, என் தேவனே, என் வேண்டுதலின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டருளும்.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

கர்த்தாவே, காலையிலே என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டருளுவீர்; காலையிலே உமக்கு நேரே வந்து ஆயத்தமாகி, காத்திருப்பேன்.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

நீர் துன்மார்க்கத்தில் பிரியப்படுகிற தேவன் அல்ல; தீமை உம்மிடத்தில் சேர்வதில்லை.

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

வீம்புக்காரர் உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிலைநிற்கமாட்டார்கள்; அக்கிரமக்காரர் யாவரையும் வெறுக்கிறீர்.

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

பொய் பேசுகிறவர்களை அழிப்பீர்; இரத்தப் பிரியனையும் சூதுள்ள மனுஷனையும் கர்த்தர் அருவருக்கிறார்.

Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

நானோ உமது மிகுந்த கிருபையினாலே உமது ஆலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, உமது பரிசுத்த சந்நிதிக்கு நேரே பயபக்தியுடன் பணிந்துகொள்ளுவேன்.

But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

கர்த்தாவே, என் சத்துருக்களினிமித்தம் என்னை உம்முடைய நீதியிலே நடத்தி, எனக்கு முன்பாக உம்முடைய வழியைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்தும்.

Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

அவர்கள் வாயில் உண்மை இல்லை, அவர்கள் உள்ளம் கேடுபாடுள்ளது; அவர்கள் தொண்டை திறக்கப்பட்ட பிரேதக்குழி; தங்கள் நாவினால் இச்சகம் பேசுகிறார்கள்.

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

தேவனே, அவர்களைக் குற்றவாளிகளாகத் தீர்த்திடும்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் ஆலோசனைகளாலேயே விழும்படி செய்திடும்; அவர்கள் துரோகங்களினுடைய திரட்சியினிமித்தம் அவர்களைத் தள்ளிவிடும்; உமக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணினார்களே.

Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

உம்மில் அடைக்கலம் புகுவோர் யாவரும் சந்தோஷித்து, எந்நாளும் கெம்பீரிப்பார்களாக; நீர் அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவீர்; உம்முடைய நாமத்தை நேசிக்கிறவர்கள் உம்மில் களிகூருவார்களாக.

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் நீதிமானை ஆசீர்வதித்து, காருணியம் என்னுங் கேடகத்தினால் அவனைச் சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளுவீர்.

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 6

கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய கோபத்திலே என்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளாதேயும், உம்முடைய உக்கிரத்திலே என்னைத் தண்டியாதேயும்.

O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

என்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும் கர்த்தாவே, நான் பெலனற்றுப்போனேன்; என்னைக் குணமாக்கும் கர்த்தாவே, என் எலும்புகள் நடுங்குகின்றன.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

என் ஆத்துமா மிகவும் வியாகுலப்படுகிறது; கர்த்தாவே, எதுவரைக்கும் இரங்காதிருப்பீர்.

My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?

திரும்பும் கர்த்தாவே, என் ஆத்துமாவை விடுவியும்; உம்முடைய கிருபையினிமித்தம் என்னை இரட்சியும்.

Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.

மரணத்தில் உம்மை நினைவுகூர்வதில்லை, பாதாளத்தில் உம்மைத் துதிப்பவன் யார்?

For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

என் பெருமூச்சினால் இளைத்துப்போனேன்; இராமுழுவதும் என் கண்ணீரால் என் படுக்கையை மிகவும் ஈரமாக்கி, என் கட்டிலை நனைக்கிறேன்.

I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

துயரத்தினால் என் கண் குழி விழுந்துபோயிற்று, என் சத்துருக்கள் அனைவர் நிமித்தமும் மங்கிப்போயிற்று.

Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.

அக்கிரமக்காரரே, நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னைவிட்டு அகன்றுபோங்கள்; கர்த்தர் என் அழுகையின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டார்.

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.

கர்த்தர் என் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டார்; கர்த்தர் என் ஜெபத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுவார்.

The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

என் பகைஞர் எல்லாரும் வெட்கி மிகவும் கலங்கிப்போவார்கள்; அவர்கள் பின்னாகத் திரும்பிச் சடிதியிலே வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.

சங்கீதம் அத்தியாயம் 7

என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உம்மில் அடைக்கலம் புகுகிறேன்; என்னைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவர்கள் எல்லாருக்கும் என்னை விலக்கி இரட்சியும்.

O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

சத்துரு சிங்கம்போல் என் ஆத்துமாவைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், விடுவிக்கிறவன் இல்லாமையால், அதைப் பீறாதபடிக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவியும்.

Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நான் இதைச் செய்ததும், என் கைகளில் நியாயக்கேடு இருக்கிறதும்,

O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;

என்னோடே சமாதானமாயிருந்தவனுக்கு நான் தீமைசெய்ததும், காரணமில்லாமல் எனக்குச் சத்துருவானவனை நான் கொள்ளையிட்டதும் உண்டானால்,

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

பகைஞன் என் ஆத்துமாவைத் தொடர்ந்துபிடித்து, என் பிராணனைத் தரையிலே தள்ளி மிதித்து, என் மகிமையைப் புழுதியிலே தாழ்த்தக்கடவன். (சேலா)

Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் உம்முடைய கோபத்தில் எழுந்திருந்து, என் சத்துருக்களுடைய மூர்க்கங்களினிமித்தம் உம்மை உயர்த்தி, எனக்காக விழித்துக்கொள்ளும்; நியாயத்தீர்ப்பை நியமித்திருக்கிறீரே.

Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

ஜனக்கூட்டம் உம்மைச் சூழ்ந்துகொள்ளட்டும்; அவர்களுக்காகத் திரும்பவும் உன்னதத்திற்கு எழுந்தருளும்.

So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.

கர்த்தர் ஜனங்களுக்கு நியாயஞ் செய்வார்; கர்த்தாவே, என் நீதியின்படியும் என்னிலுள்ள உண்மையின்படியும் எனக்கு நியாயஞ்செய்யும்.

The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

துன்மார்க்கனுடைய பொல்லாங்கு ஒழிவதாக; நீதிமானை ஸ்திரப்படுத்துவீராக; நீதியுள்ளவராயிருக்கிற தேவரீர் இருதயங்களையும் உள்ளிந்திரியங்களையும் சோதித்தறிகிறவர்.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

செம்மையான இருதயமுள்ளவர்களை இரட்சிக்கிற தேவனிடத்தில் என் கேடகம் இருக்கிறது.

My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

தேவன் நீதியுள்ள நியாயாதிபதி; அவர் நாள்தோறும் பாவியின்மேல் சினங்கொள்ளுகிற தேவன்.

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

அவன் மனந்திரும்பாவிட்டால் அவர் தம்முடைய பட்டயத்தைக் கருக்காக்குவார்; அவர் தம்முடைய வில்லை நாணேற்றி, அதை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்.

If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

அவனுக்கு மரணாயுதங்களை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணினார்; தம்முடைய அம்புகளை அக்கினி அம்புகளாக்கினார்.

He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.

இதோ, அவன் அக்கிரமத்தைப் பெறக் கர்ப்பவேதனைப்படுகிறான்; தீவினையைக் கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, பொய்யைப் பெறுகிறான்.

Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

குழியை வெட்டி, அதை ஆழமாக்கினான்; தான் வெட்டின குழியில் தானே விழுந்தான்.

He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

அவன் தீவினை அவன் சிரசின்மேல் திரும்பும், அவன் கொடுமை அவன் உச்சந்தலையின்மேல் இறங்கும்.

His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

நான் கர்த்தரை அவருடைய நீதியின்படி துதிப்பேன். நான் உன்னதமான கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைக் கீர்த்தனம் பண்ணுவேன்.

I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

மாற்கு அத்தியாயம் 12

பின்பு அவர் உவமைகளாய் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லத்தொடங்கினதாவது: ஒரு மனுஷன் ஒரு திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை உண்டாக்கி, அதைச் சுற்றிலும் வேலியடைத்து, இரசத்தொட்டியை உண்டுபண்ணி, கோபுரத்தையும் கட்டி, தோட்டக்காரருக்கு அதைக் குத்தகையாக விட்டு, புறத்தேசத்துக்குப் போயிருந்தான்.

And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

தோட்டக்காரரிடத்தில் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்துக் கனிகளில் தன் பாகத்தை வாங்கிக்கொண்டுவரும்படி, பருவகாலத்திலே அவர்களிடத்தில் ஒரு ஊழியக்காரனை அனுப்பினான்.

And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

அவர்கள் அவனைப் பிடித்து, அடித்து, வெறுமையாய் அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள்.

And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

பின்பு வேறொரு ஊழியக்காரனை அவர்களிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் அவன்மேல் கல்லெறிந்து, தலையிலே காயப்படுத்தி, அவமானப்படுத்தி, அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள்.

And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

மறுபடியும் வேறொருவனை அனுப்பினான்; அவனை அவர்கள் கொலைசெய்தார்கள். வேறு அநேகரையும் அனுப்பினான்; அவர்களில் சிலரை அடித்து, சிலரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.

And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

அவனுக்குப் பிரியமான ஒரே குமாரன் இருந்தான்; என் குமாரனுக்கு அஞ்சுவார்களென்று சொல்லி, அவனையும் கடைசியிலே அவர்களிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான்.

Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

தோட்டக்காரரோ: இவன் சுதந்தரவாளி, இவனைக் கொலைசெய்வோம் வாருங்கள்; அப்பொழுது சுதந்தரம் நம்முடையதாகும் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக்கொண்டு;

But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

அவனைப் பிடித்துக் கொலைசெய்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டத்துக்குப் புறம்பே போட்டுவிட்டார்கள்.

And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

அப்படியிருக்க, திராட்சத்தோட்டத்துக்கு எஜமான் என்ன செய்வான்? அவன் வந்து அந்தத் தோட்டக்காரரைச் சங்கரித்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை மற்றவர்களுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பான் அல்லவா?

What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

வீடு கட்டுகிறவர்கள் ஆகாதென்று தள்ளின கல்லே மூலைக்குத் தலைக்கல்லாயிற்று;

And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

அது கர்த்தராலே ஆயிற்று, அது நம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு ஆச்சரியமாயிருக்கிறது என்று எழுதியிருக்கிற வாக்கியத்தை நீங்கள் வாசிக்கவில்லையா என்றார்.

This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

இந்த உவமையைத் தங்களைக்குறித்துச் சொன்னாரென்று அவர்கள் அறிந்து, அவரைப் பிடிக்க வகைதேடினார்கள்; ஆனாலும் ஜனத்துக்குப் பயந்து, அவரை விட்டுப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

அவர்கள், பேச்சிலே அவரை அகப்படுத்தும்படிக்கு, பரிசேயரிலும் ஏரோதியரிலும் சிலரை அவரிடத்தில் அனுப்பினார்கள்.

And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

அவர்கள் வந்து: போதகரே, நீர் சத்தியமுள்ளவரென்றும், எவனைக்குறித்தும் உமக்குக் கவலையில்லையென்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம், நீர் முகதாட்சிணியம் இல்லாதவராய் தேவனுடைய மார்க்கத்தைச் சத்தியமாய்ப் போதிக்கிறீர், இராயனுக்கு வரிகொடுக்கிறது நியாயமோ அல்லவோ? நாம் கொடுக்கலாமோ, கொடுக்கக்கூடாதோ? என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

அவர்களுடைய மாயத்தை அவர் அறிந்து: நீங்கள் என்னை ஏன் சோதிக்கிறீர்கள்? நான் பார்க்கும்படிக்கு ஒரு பணத்தை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றார்.

Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

அவர்கள் அதைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர்: இந்தச் சுரூபமும் மேலெழுத்தும் யாருடையது என்று கேட்டார்; இராயனுடையது என்றார்கள்.

And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

அதற்கு இயேசு: இராயனுடையதை இராயனுக்கும், தேவனுடையதை தேவனுக்கும் செலுத்துங்கள் என்றார். அவர்கள் அவரைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

உயிர்த்தெழுதல் இல்லையென்று சாதிக்கிற சதுசேயர் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து:

Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

போதகரே, ஒருவனுடைய சகோதரன் சந்தானமில்லாமல் தன் மனைவியை விட்டு இறந்துபோனால், அவனுடைய சகோதரன் அவன் மனைவியை விவாகம்பண்ணி, தன் சகோதனுக்குச் சந்தானம் உண்டாக்கவேண்டுமென்று மோசே எங்களுக்கு எழுதிவைத்திருக்கிறாரே.

Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

இப்படியிருக்க, ஏழுபேர் சகோதரர் இருந்தார்கள்; மூத்தவன் ஒரு பெண்ணை விவாகம்பண்ணி, சந்தானமில்லாமல் இறந்துபோனான்.

Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.

இரண்டாம் சகோதரன் அவளை விவாகம்பண்ணி, அவனும் சந்தானமில்லாமல் இறந்துபோனான். மூன்றாம் சகோதரனும் அப்படியேயானான்.

And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.

ஏழுபேரும் அவளை விவாகம்பண்ணி, சந்தானமில்லாமல் இறந்துபோனார்கள். எல்லாருக்கும் பின்பு அந்த ஸ்திரீயும் இறந்துபோனாள்.

And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

ஆகையால், உயிர்த்தெழுதலில், அவர்கள் எழுந்திருக்கும்போது, அவர்களில் எவனுக்கு அவள் மனைவியாயிருப்பாள்? ஏழுபேரும் அவளை மனைவியாகக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களே என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீங்கள் வேதவாக்கியங்களையும், தேவனுடைய வல்லமையையும் அறியாததினாலல்லவா தப்பான எண்ணங்கொள்ளுகிறீர்கள்?

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

மரித்தோர் உயிரோடெழுந்திருக்கும்போது கொள்வனையும் கொடுப்பனையும் இல்லை. அவர்கள் பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவதூதரைப்போலிருப்பார்கள்.

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

மரித்தோர் எழுந்திருப்பதைப்பற்றி: நான் ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும், ஈசாக்கின் தேவனும், யாக்கோபின் தேவனுமாய் இருக்கிறேன் என்று, தேவன் முட்செடியைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லிய இடத்தில், மோசேயின் ஆகமத்தில் அவனுக்குச் சொன்னதை, நீங்கள் வாசிக்கவில்லையா?

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

அவர் மரித்தோருக்கு தேவனாயிராமல், ஜீவனுள்ளோருக்கு தேவனாயிருக்கிறார்; ஆகையால் நீங்கள் மிகவும் தப்பான எண்ணங்கொள்ளுகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.

He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

வேதபாரகரில் ஒருவன் அவர்கள் தர்க்கம்பண்ணுகிறதைக்கேட்டு, அவர்களுக்கு நன்றாய் உத்தரவு சொன்னாரென்று அறிந்து, அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: கற்பனைகளிலெல்லாம் பிரதான கற்பனை எதுவென்று கேட்டான்.

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

இயேசு அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: கற்பனைகளிலெல்லாம் பிரதான கற்பனை எதுவென்றால்: இஸ்ரவேலே கேள், நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே கர்த்தர்.

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும், உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், உன் முழு மனதோடும், உன் முழுப் பலத்தோடும் அன்புகூருவாயாக என்பதே பிரதான கற்பனை.

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

இதற்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிற இரண்டாம் கற்பனை என்னவென்றால்: உன்னிடத்தில் நீ அன்புகூருவதுபோல் பிறனிடத்திலும் அன்புகூருவாயாக என்பதே; இவைகளிலும் பெரிய கற்பனை வேறொன்றுமில்லை என்றார்.

And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

அதற்கு வேதபாரகன்: சரிதான், போதகரே, நீர் சொன்னது சத்தியம்; ஒரே தேவன் உண்டு, அவரைத்தவிர வேறொரு தேவன் இல்லை.

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

முழு இருதயத்தோடும், முழு மனதோடும், முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், முழுப் பலத்தோடும் அவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூருகிறதும், தன்னிடத்தில் அன்புகூருகிறதுபோல் பிறனிடத்தில் அன்புகூருகிறதுமே சர்வாங்க தகனம் முதலிய பலிகளைப் பார்க்கிலும் முக்கியமாயிருக்கிறது என்றான்.

And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

அவன் விவேகமாய் உத்தரவுசொன்னதை இயேசு கண்டு: நீ தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்துக்குத் தூரமானவனல்ல என்றார். அதன்பின்பு ஒருவரும் அவரிடத்தில் யாதொரு கேள்வியுங்கேட்கத் துணியவில்லை.

And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

இயேசு தேவாலயத்திலே உபதேசம்பண்ணுகையில், அவர்: கிறிஸ்து தாவீதின் குமாரனென்று வேதபாரகர் எப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறார்கள்?

And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?

நான் உம்முடைய சத்துருக்களை உமக்குப் பாதபடியாக்கிப்போடும்வரைக்கும் நீர் என்னுடைய வலதுபாரிசத்தில் உட்காரும் என்று கர்த்தர் என் ஆண்டவரோடே சொன்னார் என்று தாவீது பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே சொல்லியிருக்கிறானே.

For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

தாவீதுதானே அவரை ஆண்டவரென்று சொல்லியிருக்க, அவனுக்கு அவர் குமாரனாயிருப்பது எப்படி என்றார். அநேக ஜனங்கள் அவருடைய உபதேசத்தை விருப்பத்தோடே கேட்டார்கள்.

David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

பின்னும் அவர் உபதேசம்பண்ணுகையில் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீண்ட அங்கிகளைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டு திரியவும், சந்தைவெளிகளில் வந்தனங்களை அடையவும்,

And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் முதன்மையான ஆசனங்களில் உட்காரவும், விருந்துகளில் முதன்மையான இடங்களில் இருக்கவும் விரும்பி,

And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:

விதவைகளின் வீடுகளைப் பட்சித்து, பார்வைக்கு நீண்ட ஜெபம்பண்ணுகிற வேதபாரகரைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; அவர்கள் அதிக ஆக்கினையை அடைவார்கள் என்றார்.

Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

இயேசு காணிக்கைப்பெட்டிக்கு எதிராக உட்கார்ந்து, ஜனங்கள் காணிக்கைப் பெட்டியில் பணம் போடுகிறதைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்; ஐசுவரியவான்கள் அநேகர் அதிகமாய்ப் போட்டார்கள்.

And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

ஏழையான ஒரு விதவையும் வந்து, ஒரு துட்டுக்குச் சரியான இரண்டுகாசைப் போட்டாள்.

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

அப்பொழுது அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரை அழைத்து, காணிக்கைப் பெட்டியில் பணம் போட்ட மற்றெல்லாரைப்பார்க்கிலும் இந்த ஏழை விதவை அதிகமாய்ப் போட்டாள் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்;

And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

அவர்களெல்லாரும் தங்கள் பரிபூரணத்திலிருந்தெடுத்துப் போட்டார்கள்; இவளோ தன் வறுமையிலிருந்து தன் ஜீவனத்துக்கு உண்டாயிருந்ததெல்லாம் போட்டுவிட்டாள் என்றார்.

For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
