யோபு அத்தியாயம் 37

இதினால் என் இருதயம் தத்தளித்து, தன்னிடத்தைவிட்டுத் தெறிக்கிறது.

At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

அவருடைய சத்தத்தினால் உண்டாகிற அதிர்ச்சியையும், அவர் வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற முழக்கத்தையும் கவனமாய்க் கேளுங்கள்.

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

அவர் வானத்தின் கீழெங்கும் அந்தத் தொனியையும், பூமியின் கடையாந்தரங்கள்மேல் அதின் மின்னலையும் செல்லவிடுகிறார்.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

அதற்குப்பின்பு அவர் சத்தமாய் முழங்கி, தம்முடைய மகத்துவத்தின் சத்தத்தைக் குமுறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவருடைய சத்தம் கேட்கப்படும்போது அதைத் தவிர்க்கமுடியாது.

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

தேவன் தம்முடைய சத்தத்தை ஆச்சரியமானவிதமாய்க் குமுறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; நாம் கிரகிக்கக்கூடாத பெரிய காரியங்களை அவர் செய்கிறார்.

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

அவர் உறைந்த மழையையும், கல்மழையையும், தம்முடைய வல்லமையின் பெருமழையையும் பார்த்து: பூமியின்மேல் பெய்யுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிடுகிறார்.

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

தாம் உண்டாக்கின சகல மனுஷரும் தம்மை அறியும்படிக்கு, அவர் சகல மனுஷருடைய கையையும் முத்திரித்துப்போடுகிறார்.

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

அப்பொழுது காட்டுமிருகங்கள் தங்கள் குகைகளில் புகுந்து, தங்கள் கெபிகளில் தங்கும்.

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

தெற்கேயிருந்து சூறாவளியும், வடகாற்றினால் குளிரும் வரும்.

Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

தம்முடைய சுவாசத்தினால் தேவன் குளிரைக் கொடுக்கிறார்; அப்பொழுது ஜலத்தின் மேற்பரப்பானது உறைந்துபோகும்.

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

அவர் நீர்த்துளிகளை மேகத்தில் ஏற்றி, மின்னலினால் மேகத்தைச் சிதறப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

அவர் அவைகளுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிற யாவையும், அவைகள் பூச்சக்கரத்தில் நடப்பிக்கும்படி, அவர் அவைகளைத் தம்முடைய ஞான ஆலோசனைகளின்படியே சுற்றித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

ஒன்றில் தண்டனையாகவும், ஒன்றில் தம்முடைய பூமிக்கு உபயோகமாகவும், ஒன்றில் கிருபையாகவும், அவைகளை வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

யோபே, இதற்குச் செவிகொடும்; தரித்துநின்று தேவனுடைய ஆச்சரியமான கிரியைகளைத் தியானித்துப்பாரும்.

Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

தேவன் அவைகளைத் திட்டம்பண்ணி, தம்முடைய மேகத்தின் மின்னலைப் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணும் விதத்தை அறிவீரோ?

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

மேகங்கள் தொங்கும்படி வைக்கும் நிறையையும், பூரண ஞானமுள்ளவரின் அற்புதமான செய்கைகளையும்,

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

தென்றலினால் அவர் பூமியை அமையப்பண்ணும்போது, உம்முடைய வஸ்திரங்கள் உஷ்ணமாயிருக்கும் வகையையும் அறிவீரோ?

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

வார்க்கப்பட்ட கண்ணாடியைப்போல் கெட்டியான ஆகாயமண்டலங்களை நீர் அவரோடேகூட இருந்து விரித்தீரோ?

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

அவருக்கு நாம் சொல்லத்தக்கதை எங்களுக்குப் போதியும்; அந்தகாரத்தினிமித்தம் முறைதப்பிப் பேசுகிறோம்.

Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

நான் பேசத்துணிந்தேன் என்று யாதாமொருவன் அவருக்கு முன்பாகச் சொல்லத்தகுமோ? ஒருவன் பேசத்துணிந்தால் அவன் விழுங்கப்பட்டுப்போவானே.

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

இப்போதும் காற்று வீசி ஆகாய மண்டலங்களிலுள்ள மப்பு நீங்கப்பண்ணியிருக்கிறசமயத்தில் வடக்கேயிருந்து பொன்மயமான காந்தி வருகிறபோது,

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

ஆகாயமண்டலத்திலே பிரகாசிக்கிற சூரியனை முதலாய் ஒருவரும் நோக்கிப் பார்க்கக்கூடாதே; தேவனிடத்திலோ பயங்கரமான மகத்துவமுண்டு.

Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

சர்வவல்லவரை நாம் கண்டுபிடிக்கக்கூடாது; அவர் வல்லமையிலும் நியாயத்திலும் பெருத்தவர்; அவர் மகா நீதிபரர்; அவர் ஒடுக்கமாட்டார்.

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

ஆகையால் மனுஷர் அவருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டும்; தங்கள் எண்ணத்தில் ஞானிகளாயிருக்கிற எவர்களையும் அவர் மதிக்கமாட்டார் என்றான்.

Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 38

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: பெருங்காற்றிலிருந்து யோபுக்கு உத்தரவாக:

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

அறிவில்லாத வார்த்தைகளினால் ஆலோசனையை அந்தகாரப்படுத்துகிற இவன் யார்?

Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

இப்போதும் புருஷனைப்போல் இடைகட்டிக்கொள்; நான் உன்னைக்கேட்பேன்; நீ எனக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லு.

Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

நான் பூமியை அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்துகிறபோது நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்? நீ அறிவாளியானால் அதை அறிவி.

Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

அதற்கு அளவு குறித்தவர் யார்? அதின்மேல் நூல்போட்டவர் யார்? இதை நீ அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லு.

Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

அதின் ஆதாரங்கள் எதின்மேல் போடப்பட்டது? அதின் கோடிக்கல்லை வைத்தவர் யார்?

Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

அப்பொழுது விடியற்காலத்து நட்சத்திரங்கள் ஏகமாய்ப்பாடி, தேவபுத்திரர் எல்லாரும் கெம்பீரித்தார்களே.

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து உதிக்கிறதுபோல் சமுத்திரம் புரண்டுவந்தபோது, அதைக் கதவுகளால் அடைத்தவர் யார்?

Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

மேகத்தை அதற்கு வஸ்திரமாகவும், இருளை அதற்குப் புடவையாகவும் நான் உடுத்தினபோதும்,

When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

நான் அதற்கு எல்லையைக் குறித்து, அதற்குத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களையும் கதவுகளையும் போட்டு:

And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

இம்மட்டும் வா, மிஞ்சி வராதே; உன் அலைகளின் பெருமை இங்கே அடங்கக்கடவது என்று நான் சொல்லுகிறபோதும் நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்?

And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

துஷ்டர்கள் பூமியிலிருந்து உதறிப்போடப்படும்படிக்கு, அதின் கடையாந்தரங்களைப் பிடிக்கும்பொருட்டு,

Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

உன் ஜீவகாலத்தில் எப்போதாவது நீ விடியற்காலத்துக்குக் கட்டளை கொடுத்து, அருணோதயத்துக்கு அதின் இடத்தைக் காண்பித்ததுண்டோ?

That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

பூமி முத்திரையிடப்பட்ட களிமண்போல் வேறே ரூபங்கொள்ளும்; சகலமும் வஸ்திரம் தரித்திருக்கிறது போல் காணப்படும்.

It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

துன்மார்க்கரின் ஒளி அவர்களை விட்டு எடுபடும்; மேட்டிமையான புயம் முறிக்கப்படும்.

And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

நீ சமுத்திரத்தின் அடித்தலங்கள்மட்டும் புகுந்து, ஆழத்தின் அடியில் உலாவினதுண்டோ?

Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

மரணவாசல்கள் உனக்குத் திறந்ததுண்டோ? மரண இருளின் வாசல்களை நீ பார்த்ததுண்டோ?

Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

நீ பூமியின் விசாலங்களை ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்ததுண்டோ? இவைகளையெல்லாம் நீ அறிந்திருந்தால் சொல்லு.

Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

வெளிச்சம் வாசமாயிருக்கும் இடத்துக்கு வழியெங்கே? இருள் குடிகொண்டிருக்கும் ஸ்தானமெங்கே?

Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

அதின் எல்லை இன்னதென்று உனக்குத் தெரியுமோ? அதின் வீட்டுக்குப்போகிற பாதையை அறிந்திருக்கிறாயோ?

That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

நீ அதை அறியும்படி அப்போது பிறந்திருந்தாயோ? உன் நாட்களின் தொகை அவ்வளவு பெரிதோ?

Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

உறைந்த மழையின் பண்டசாலைகளுக்குள் நீ பிரவேசித்தாயோ? கல்மழையிலிருக்கிற பண்டசாலைகளைப் பார்த்தாயோ?

Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,

ஆபத்து வருங்காலத்திலும், கலகமும் யுத்தமும் வருங்காலத்திலும், பிரயோகிக்கும்படி நான் அவைகளை வைத்துவைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

வெளிச்சம் பரவப்படுகிறதற்கும், கீழ்காற்று பூமியின்மேல் வீசுகிறதற்குமான வழி எங்கே?

By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

பாழும் அந்தரவெளியுமான தரையைத் திருப்தியாக்கி, இளம்பூண்டுகளின் முளைகளை முளைக்கப்பண்ணும்படி,

Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

பூமியெங்கும் மனுஷர் குடியில்லாத இடத்திலும், மனுஷசஞ்சாரமில்லாத வனாந்தரத்திலும் மழையை வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி,

To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

வெள்ளத்துக்கு நீர்க்கால்களையும், இடிமுழக்கங்களோடு வரும் மின்னலுக்கு வழிகளையும் பகுத்தவர் யார்?

To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

மழைக்கு ஒரு தகப்பனுண்டோ? பனித்துளிகளை ஜநிப்பித்தவர் யார்?

Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

உறைந்த தண்ணீர் யாருடைய வயிற்றிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறது? ஆகாயத்தினுடைய உறைந்த பனியைப் பெற்றவர் யார்?

Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

ஜலம் கல்லுருவங்கொண்டு மறைந்து, ஆழத்தின் முகம் கெட்டியாய் உறைந்திருக்கிறதே.

The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

அறுமீன் நட்சத்திரத்தின் சுகிர்த சம்பந்தத்தை நீ இணைக்கக்கூடுமோ? அல்லது மிருகசீரிஷத்தின் கட்டுகளை அவிழ்ப்பாயோ?

Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

இராசிகளை அதினதின் காலத்திலே வரப்பண்ணுவாயோ? துருவச்சக்கர நட்சத்திரத்தையும் அதைச் சேர்ந்த நட்சத்திரங்களையும் வழிநடத்துவாயோ?

Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

வானத்தின் நியமங்களை நீ அறிவாயோ? அது பூமியையாளும் ஆளுகையை நீ திட்டம்பண்ணுவாயோ?

Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

ஏராளமான தண்ணீர் உன்மேல் சொரியவேணும் என்று உன் சத்தத்தை மேகங்கள் பரியந்தம் உயர்த்துவாயோ?

Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

நீ மின்னல்களை அழைத்தனுப்பி, அவைகள் புறப்பட்டுவந்து: இதோ, இங்கேயிருக்கிறோம் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லும்படி செய்வாயோ?

Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?

அந்தக்கரணங்களில் ஞானத்தை வைத்தவர் யார்? உள்ளத்தில் புத்தியைக் கொடுத்தவர் யார்?

Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

ஞானத்தினாலே கொடிமாசிகளை எண்ணுபவர் யார்?

Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

தூளானது ஏகபாளமாகவும், மண்கட்டிகள் ஒன்றோடொன்று ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளவும், ஆகாயத்துருத்திகளிலுள்ள தண்ணீரைப் பொழியப்பண்ணுகிறவர் யார்?

When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

நீ சிங்கத்துக்கு இரையை வேட்டையாடி,

Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

சிங்கக்குட்டிகள் தாங்கள் தங்கும் இடங்களிலே கிடந்து கெபியிலே பதிவிருக்கிறபோது, அவைகளின் ஆசையைத் திருப்தியாக்குவாயோ?

When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

காக்கைக்குஞ்சுகள் தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, ஆகாரமில்லாமல் பறந்து அலைகிறபோது, அவைகளுக்கு இரையைச் சவதரித்துக் கொடுக்கிறவர் யார்?

Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 39

வரையாடுகள் ஈனுங்காலத்தை அறிவாயோ? மான்கள் குட்டிபோடுகிறதைக் கவனித்தாயோ?

Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

அவைகள் சினைப்பட்டிருந்து வருகிற மாதங்களை நீ எண்ணி, அவைகள் ஈனுங்காலத்தை அறிவாயோ?

Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

அவைகள் நொந்து குனிந்து தங்கள் குட்டிகளைப் போட்டு, தங்கள் வேதனைகளை நீக்கிவிடும்.

They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

அவைகளின் குட்டிகள் பலத்து, வனத்திலே வளர்ந்து, அவைகளண்டைக்குத் திரும்ப வராமற்போய்விடும்.

Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

காட்டுக்கழுதையைத் தன்னிச்சையாய்த் திரியவிட்டவர் யார்? அந்தக் காட்டுக்கழுதையின் கட்டுகளை அவிழ்த்தவர் யார்?

Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

அதற்கு நான் வனாந்தரத்தை வீடாகவும், உவர்நிலத்தை வாசஸ்தலமாகவும் கொடுத்தேன்.

Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

அது பட்டணத்தின் இரைச்சலை அலட்சியம்பண்ணி, ஓட்டுகிறவனுடைய கூக்குரலை மதிக்கிறதில்லை.

He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

அது மலைகளிலே தன் மேய்ச்சலைக் கண்டுபிடித்து, சகலவிதப் பச்சைப்பூண்டுகளையும் தேடித்திரியும்.

The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

காண்டாமிருகம் உன்னிடத்தில் சேவிக்கச் சம்மதிக்குமோ? அது உன் முன்னணைக்கு முன்பாக இராத்தங்குமோ?

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

படைச்சால்களை உழ நீ காண்டாமிருகத்தைக் கயிறுபோட்டு ஏரிலே பூட்டுவாயோ? அது உனக்கு இசைந்து பரம்படிக்குமோ?

Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

அது அதிக பெலமுள்ளதென்று நீ நம்பி அதினிடத்தில் வேலை வாங்குவாயோ?

Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

உன் தானியத்தை அது உன்வீட்டில் கொண்டுவந்து, உன் களஞ்சியத்தில் சேர்க்கும் என்று நீ அதை நம்புவாயோ?

Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

தீக்குருவிகள் தங்கள் செட்டைகளை அசைவாட்டி ஓடுகிற ஓட்டம், நாரை தன் செட்டைகளாலும் இறகுகளாலும் பறக்கிறதற்குச் சமானமல்லவோ?

Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

அது தன் முட்டைகளைத் தரையிலே இட்டு, அவைகளை மணலிலே அனலுறைக்க வைத்துவிட்டுப்போய்,

Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

காலால் மிதிபட்டு உடைந்துபோகும் என்பதையும், காட்டுமிருகங்கள் அவைகளை மிதித்துவிடும் என்பதையும் நினைக்கிறதில்லை.

And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

அது தன் குஞ்சுகள் தன்னுடையதல்லாததுபோல அவைகளைக்காக்காத கடினகுணமுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்; அவைகளுக்காக அதற்குக் கவலையில்லாதபடியினால் அது பட்ட வருத்தம் விருதாவாம்.

She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;

தேவன் அதற்குப் புத்தியைக் கொடாமல், ஞானத்தை விலக்கிவைத்தார்.

Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

அது செட்டை விரித்து எழும்பும்போது, குதிரையையும் அதின்மேல் ஏறியிருக்கிறவனையும் அலட்சியம்பண்ணும்.

What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

குதிரைக்கு நீ வீரியத்தைக் கொடுத்தாயோ? அதின் தொண்டையில் குமுறலை வைத்தாயோ?

Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

ஒரு வெட்டுக்கிளியை மிரட்டுகிறதுபோல அதை மிரட்டுவாயோ? அதினுடைய நாசியின் செருக்கு பயங்கரமாயிருக்கிறது.

Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

அது தரையிலே தாளடித்து, தன் பலத்தில் களித்து, ஆயுதங்களைத் தரித்தவருக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்படும்.

He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

அது கலங்காமலும், பட்டயத்துக்குப் பின்வாங்காமலுமிருந்து, பயப்படுதலை அலட்சியம்பண்ணும்.

He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

அம்பறாத்தூணியும், மின்னுகிற ஈட்டியும், கேடகமும் அதின்மேல் கலகலக்கும்போது,

The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

கர்வமும் மூர்க்கமுங்கொண்டு தரையை விழுங்கிவிடுகிறதுபோல் அநுமானித்து, எக்காளத்தின் தொனிக்கு அஞ்சாமல் பாயும்.

He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

எக்காளம் தொனிக்கும்போது அது நிகியென்று கனைக்கும்; யுத்தத்தையும், படைத்தலைவரின் ஆர்ப்பரிப்பையும், சேனைகளின் ஆரவாரத்தையும் தூரத்திலிருந்து மோப்பம்பிடிக்கும்.

He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

உன் புத்தியினாலே ராஜாளி பறந்து, தெற்குக்கு எதிராகத் தன் செட்டைகளை விரிக்கிறதோ?

Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

உன் கற்பனையினாலே கழுகு உயரப் பறந்து, உயரத்திலே தன் கூட்டைக் கட்டுமோ?

Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

அது கன்மலையிலும், கன்மலையின் சிகரத்திலும், அரணான ஸ்தலத்திலும் தங்கி வாசம்பண்ணும். றல்.

She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

அங்கேயிருந்து இரையை நோக்கும்; அதின் கண்கள் தூரத்திலிருந்து அதைப் பார்க்கும்.

From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

அதின் குஞ்சுகள் இரத்தத்தை உறிஞ்சும்; பிணம் எங்கேயோ அங்கே கழுகு சேரும் என்றார்.

Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

மாற்கு அத்தியாயம் 10

அவர் அவ்விடம் விட்டெழுந்து, யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலுள்ள தேசத்தின் வழியாய் யூதேயாவின் எல்லைகளில் வந்தார். ஜனங்கள் மறுபடியும் அவரிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தார்கள். அவர் தம்முடைய வழக்கத்தின்படியே மறுபடியும் அவர்களுக்குப் போதகம்பண்ணினார்.

And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர், அவரைச் சோதிக்கவேண்டுமென்று, அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: புருஷனானவன் தன் மனைவியைத் தள்ளிவிடுவது நியாயமா என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: மோசே உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறது என்ன என்று கேட்டார்.

And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: தள்ளுதற்சீட்டை எழுதிக்கொடுத்து, அவளைத் தள்ளிவிடலாமென்று மோசே உத்தரவுக்கொடுத்திருக்கிறார் என்றார்கள்.

And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: உங்கள் இருதயகடினத்தினிமித்தம் இந்தக் கட்டளையை உங்களுக்கு எழுதிக்கொடுத்தான்.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

ஆகிலும், ஆதியிலே மனுஷரைச் சிருஷ்டித்த தேவன் அவர்களை ஆணும் பெண்ணுமாக உண்டாக்கினார்.

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

இதினிமித்தம் புருஷனானவன் தன் தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் விட்டுத் தன் மனைவியோடே இசைந்திருப்பான்;

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஒரே மாம்சமாயிருப்பார்கள்; இவ்விதமாய் அவர்கள் இருவராயிராமல் ஒரே மாம்சமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

ஆகையால், தேவன் இணைத்ததை மனுஷன் பிரிக்காதிருக்கக்கடவன் என்றார்.

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

பின்பு வீட்டிலே அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் அந்தக் காரியத்தைக்குறித்து மறுபடியும் அவரிடத்தில் விசாரித்தார்கள்.

And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

அப்பொழுது அவர்: எவனாகிலும் தன் மனைவியைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, வேறொருத்தியை விவாகம்பண்ணினால், அவன் அவளுக்கு விரோதமாய் விபசாரஞ்செய்கிறவனாயிருப்பான்.

And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

மனைவியும் தன் புருஷனைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, வேறொருவனை விவாகம்பண்ணினால், விபசாரஞ்செய்கிறவளாயிருப்பாள் என்றார்.

And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

அப்பொழுது, சிறு பிள்ளைகளை அவர் தொடும்படிக்கு அவர்களை அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; கொண்டுவந்தவர்களைச் சீஷர்கள் அதட்டினார்கள்.

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

இயேசு அதைக் கண்டு, விசனமடைந்து: சிறு பிள்ளைகள் என்னிடத்தில் வருகிறதற்கு இடங்கொடுங்கள்; அவர்களைத் தடைபண்ணாதிருங்கள்; தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களுடையது.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

எவனாகிலும் சிறு பிள்ளையைப்போல் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாவிட்டால், அவன் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லையென்று, மெய்யாகவே உஙகளுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லி,

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

அவர்களை அணைத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்கள்மேல் கைகளை வைத்து, அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.

And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

பின்பு அவர் புறப்பட்டு வழியிலே போகையில், ஒருவன் ஓடிவந்து, அவருக்கு முன்பாக முழங்கால்படியிட்டு: நல்ல போதகரே, நித்தியஜீவனைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டான்.

And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

அதற்கு இயேசு: நீ என்னை நல்லவன் என்று சொல்வானேன்? தேவன் ஒருவர் தவிர நல்லவன் ஒருவனுமில்லையே.

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

விபசாரஞ்செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, களவு செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லாதிருப்பாயாக, வஞ்சனை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, உன் தகப்பனையும் உன் தாயையும் கனம்பண்ணுவாயாக என்கிற கற்பனைகளை அறிந்திருக்கிறாயே என்றார்.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

அதற்கு அவன்: போதகரே, இவைகளையெல்லாம் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் கைக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.

And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து, அவனிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்து: உன்னிடத்தில் ஒரு குறைவு உண்டு; நீ போய், உனக்கு உண்டானவைகளையெல்லாம் விற்று, தரித்திரருக்குக் கொடு; அப்பொழுது பரலோகத்திலே உனக்குப் பொக்கிஷம் உண்டாயிருக்கும்; பின்பு சிலுவையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, என்னைப் பின்பற்றிவா என்றார்.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

அவன் மிகுந்த ஆஸ்தியுள்ளவனாயிருந்தபடியால், இந்த வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு, மனமடிந்து, துக்கத்தோடே போய்விட்டான்.

And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு சுற்றிப்பார்த்து, தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: ஐசுவரியமுள்ளவர்கள் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பது எவ்வளவு அரிதாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்.

And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

சீஷர்கள் அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். இயேசு பின்னும் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பிள்ளைகளே, ஐசுவரியத்தின்மேல் நம்பிக்கையாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிக்கிறது எவ்வளவு அரிதாயிருக்கிறது!

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

ஐசுவரியவான் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பதைப்பார்க்கிலும், ஒட்டகமானது ஊசியின் காதிலே நுழைவது எளிதாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

அவர்கள் பின்னும் அதிகமாய் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: அப்படியானால் யார் இரட்சிக்கப்படக்கூடும் என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மனுஷரால் இது கூடாததுதான், தேவனால் இது கூடாததல்ல; தேவனாலே எல்லாம் கூடும் என்றார்.

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி: இதோ, நாங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும்விட்டு, உம்மைப் பின்பற்றினோமே, என்று சொல்லத்தொடங்கினான்.

Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

அதற்கு இயேசு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னிமித்தமாகவும், சுவிசேஷத்தினிமித்தமாகவும், வீட்டையாவது, சகோதரரையாவது, சகோதரிகளையாவது, தகப்பனையாவது, தாயையாவது, மனைவியையாவது, பிள்ளைகளையாவது, நிலங்களையாவது விட்டவன் எவனும்,

And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

இப்பொழுது இம்மையிலே, துன்பங்களோடேகூட நூறத்தனையாக, வீடுகளையும், சகோதரரையும், சகோதரிகளையும், தாய்களையும், பிள்ளைகளையும், நிலங்களையும், மறுமையிலே நித்தியஜீவனையும் அடைவான் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

ஆகிலும் முந்தினோர் அநேகர் பிந்தினோராயும், பிந்தினோர் அநேகர் முந்தினோராயும் இருப்பார்கள் என்றார்.

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

பின்பு அவர்கள் எருசலேமுக்குப் பிரயாணமாய்ப் போகையில், இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு முன்னே நடந்துபோனார்; அவர்கள் திகைத்து, அவருக்குப் பின்னே, பயத்தோடே போனார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர் பன்னிருவரையும் அழைத்து, தமக்குச் சம்பவிக்கப்போகிறவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு மறுபடியும் சொல்லத்தொடங்கினார்:

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,

இதோ, எருசலேமுக்குப் போகிறோம்; அங்கே மனுஷகுமாரன் பிரதான ஆசாரியரிடத்திலும் வேதபாரகரிடத்திலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவார்; அவர்கள் அவரை மரண ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்து, புறத்தேசத்தாரிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார்கள்.

Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:

அவர்கள் அவரைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணி, அவரை வாரினால் அடித்து, அவர்மேல் துப்பி, அவரைக் கொலைசெய்வார்கள்; ஆகிலும் மூன்றாம் நாளிலே அவர் உயிரோடே எழுந்திருப்பார் என்றார்.

And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

அப்பொழுது செபெதேயுவின் குமாரராகிய யாக்கோபும் யோவானும் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: போதகரே, நாங்கள் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளப்போகிறதை நீர் எங்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறோம் என்றார்கள்.

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் உங்களுக்கு என்னசெய்யவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார்.

And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: உமது மகிமையிலே, எங்களில் ஒருவன் உமது வலது பாரிசத்திலும், ஒருவன் உமது இடதுபாரிசத்திலும் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கும்படி எங்களுக்கு அருள்செய்யவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.

They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறது இன்னது என்று உங்களுக்கே தெரியவில்லை. நான் குடிக்கும் பாத்திரத்தில் நீங்கள் குடிக்கவும், நான் பெறும் ஸ்நானத்தை நீங்கள் பெறவும், உங்களால் கூடுமா என்றார்.

But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: கூடும் என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் குடிக்கும் பாத்திரத்தில் நீங்கள் குடிப்பீர்கள், நான் பெறும் ஸ்நானத்தையும் நீங்கள் பெறுவீர்கள்.

And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

ஆனாலும் என் வலதுபாரிசத்திலும் என் இடதுபாரிசத்திலும் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கும்படி எவர்களுக்கு ஆயத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிறதோ அவர்களுக்கேயல்லாமல், மற்றொருவருக்கும் அதை அருளுவது என் காரியமல்ல என்றார்.

But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

மற்ற பத்துப்பேரும் அதைக் கேட்டு, யாக்கோபின்மேலும் யோவானின் மேலும் எரிச்சலானார்கள்.

And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களைக் கிட்டவரச்செய்து: புறஜாதியாருக்கு அதிகாரிகளாக எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் அவர்களை இறுமாப்பாய் ஆளுகிறார்கள் என்றும், அவர்களில் பெரியவர்கள் அவர்கள்மேல் கடினமாய் அதிகாரம் செலுத்துகிறார்கள் என்றும் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

உங்களுக்குள்ளே அப்படி இருக்கலாகாது; உங்களில் எவனாகிலும் பெரியவனாயிருக்க விரும்பினால், அவன் உங்களுக்குப் பணிவிடைக்காரனாயிருக்கக்கடவன்.

But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

உங்களில் எவனாகிலும் முதன்மையானவனாயிருக்க விரும்பினால், அவன் எல்லாருக்கும் ஊழியக்காரனாயிருக்கக்கடவன்.

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

அப்படியே, மனுஷகுமாரனும் ஊழியங்கொள்ளும்படி வராமல், ஊழியஞ்செய்யவும், அநேகரை மீட்கும்பொருளாகத் தம்முடைய ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கவும் வந்தார் என்றார்.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

பின்பு அவர்கள் எரிகோவுக்கு வந்தார்கள். அவரும் அவருடைய சீஷர்களும் திரளான ஜனங்களும் எரிகோவைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுகிறபோது, திமேயுவின் மகனாகிய பர்திமேயு என்கிற ஒரு குருடன், வழியருகே உட்கார்ந்து, பிச்சை கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

அவன் நசரேயனாகிய இயேசு வருகிறாரென்று கேள்விப்பட்டு: இயேசுவே, தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும் என்று கூப்பிடத் தொடங்கினான்.

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

அவன் பேசாதிருக்கும்படி அநேகர் அவனை அதட்டினார்கள். அவனோ: தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும் என்று முன்னிலும் அதிகமாய்க் கூப்பிட்டான்.

And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

இயேசு நின்று, அவனை அழைத்துவரச் சொன்னார். அவர்கள் அந்தக் குருடனை அழைத்து: திடன்கொள், எழுந்திரு, உன்னை அழைக்கிறார் என்றார்கள்.

And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

உடனே அவன் தன் மேல்வஸ்திரத்தை எறிந்துவிட்டு, எழுந்து, இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்தான்.

And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நான் உனக்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்றிருக்கிறாய் என்றார். அதற்கு அந்தக் குருடன்: ஆண்டவரே, நான் பார்வையடையவேண்டும் என்றான்.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நீ போகலாம், உன் விசுவாசம் உன்னை இரட்சித்தது என்றார். உடனே அவன் பார்வையடைந்து, வழியிலே இயேசுவுக்குப் பின்சென்றான்.

And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
