யோபு அத்தியாயம் 30

இப்போதோ என்னிலும் இளவயதானவர்கள் என்னைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; இவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களை நான் என் மந்தையைக் காக்கும் நாய்களோடே வைக்கவுங்கூட வெட்கப்பட்டிருப்பேன்.

But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.

விருத்தாப்பியத்தினாலே பெலனற்றுப்போன அவர்கள் கைகளினால் எனக்கு என்ன உதவியிருந்தது.

Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?

குறைச்சலினாலும் பசியினாலும் அவர்கள் வாடி, வெகுநாளாய்ப் பாழும் வெறுமையுமான அந்தரவெளிக்கு ஓடிப்போய்,

For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.

செடிகளுக்குள் இருக்கிற தழைகளைப் பிடுங்குவார்கள்; காட்டுப்பூண்டுகளின் கிழங்குகள் அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாயிருந்தது.

Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their meat.

அவர்கள் மனுஷரின் நடுவிலிருந்து துரத்தப்பட்டார்கள்; கள்ளனைத் துரத்துகிறதுபோல்: கள்ளன் கள்ளன் என்று அவர்களைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்.

They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;)

அவர்கள் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளின் வெடிப்புகளிலும், பூமியின் கெபிகளிலும், கன்மலைகளிலும் போய் குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

To dwell in the clifts of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.

செடிகளுக்குள்ளிருந்து கதறி, காஞ்சொறிகளின்கீழ் ஒதுங்கினார்கள்.

Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.

அவர்கள் மூடரின் மக்களும், நீசரின் பிள்ளைகளும், தேசத்திலிருந்து துரத்துண்டவர்களுமாய் இருந்தார்கள்.

They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.

ஆனாலும் இப்போது நான் அவர்களுக்குப் பாட்டும் பழமொழியும் ஆனேன்.

And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.

என்னை அருவருத்து, எனக்குத்தூரமாகி, என் முகத்துக்கு முன்பாகத் துப்பக் கூசாதிருக்கிறார்கள்.

They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.

நான் கட்டின கட்டை அவர் அவிழ்த்து, என்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தினபடியினால், அவர்களும் கடிவாளத்தை என் முகத்துக்கு முன்பாக உதறிவிட்டார்கள்.

Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.

வலதுபாரிசத்தில் வாலிபர் எழும்பி, என் கால்களைத் தவறிவிழப்பண்ணி, தங்கள் கேடான வழிகளை எனக்கு நேராக ஆயத்தப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.

என் பாதையைக் கெடுத்து, என் ஆபத்தை வர்த்திக்கப்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; அதற்கு அவர்களுக்கு ஒத்தாசைபண்ணுகிறவர்கள் தேவையில்லை.

They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.

பெரிதான திறப்புண்டாக்கி, தாங்கள் கெடுத்த வழியில் புரண்டு வருகிறார்கள்.

They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me.

பயங்கரங்கள் என்மேல் திரும்பி வருகிறது, அவைகள் காற்றைப்போல என் ஆத்துமாவைப் பின்தொடருகிறது; என் சுகவாழ்வு ஒரு மேகத்தைப்போல் கடந்துபோயிற்று.

Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.

ஆகையால் இப்போது என் ஆத்துமா என்னில் முறிந்துபோயிற்று; உபத்திரவத்தின் நாட்கள் என்னைப்பிடித்துக்கொண்டது.

And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.

இராக்காலத்திலே என் எலும்புகள் துளைக்கப்பட்டு, என் நரம்புகளுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் இல்லாதிருக்கிறது.

My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest.

நோயின் உக்கிரத்தினால் என் உடுப்பு வேறுபட்டுப்போயிற்று; அது என் அங்கியின் கழுத்துப்பட்டையைப்போல, என்னைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டது.

By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.

சேற்றிலே தள்ளப்பட்டேன்; தூளுக்கும் சாம்பலுக்கும் ஒப்பானேன்.

He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.

உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறேன்; நீர் எனக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு கொடாதிருக்கிறீர்; கெஞ்சி நிற்கிறேன், என்மேல் பராமுகமாயிருக்கிறீர்.

I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.

என்மேல் கொடூரமுள்ளவராக மாறினீர்; உம்முடைய கரத்தின் வல்லமையால் என்னை விரோதிக்கிறீர்.

Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.

நீர் என்னைத் தூக்கி, என்னைக் காற்றிலே பறக்கவிட்டு, என்னைப் பயத்தினால் உருகிப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறீர்.

Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.

சகல ஜீவாத்துமாக்களுக்கும் குறிக்கப்பட்ட தாவரமாகிய மரணத்துக்கு என்னை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீர் என்று அறிவேன்.

For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

ஆனாலும் நான் யாதொருவனை அவன் ஆபத்திலே தவிக்கப்பண்ணினதும்,

Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.

துன்னாளைக் கண்டவனுக்காக நான் அழாதிருந்ததும், எளியவனுக்காக என் ஆத்துமா வியாகுலப்படாதிருந்ததும் உண்டானால், அவர் என் மனுவுக்கு இடங்கொடாமல், எனக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தமது கையை நீட்டுவாராக.

Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?

நன்மைக்குக் காத்திருந்த எனக்குத் தீமை வந்தது; வெளிச்சத்தை வரப்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த எனக்கு இருள் வந்தது.

When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

என் குடல்கள் கொதித்து, அமராதிருக்கிறது; உபத்திரவநாட்கள் என்மேல் வந்தது.

My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.

வெயில் படாதிருந்தும், நான் கறுகறுத்துத் திரிகிறேன்; நான் சபையிலிருந்து எழுந்திருக்கும்போது அலறுகிறேன்.

I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.

நான் மலைப்பாம்புகளுக்குச் சகோதரனும், கோட்டான்களுக்குத் தோழனுமானேன்.

I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

என் தோல் என்மேல் கறுத்துப்போயிற்று; என் எலும்புகள் உஷ்ணத்தினால் காய்ந்துபோயிற்று.

My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

என் சுரமண்டலம் புலம்பலாகவும், என் கின்னரம் அழுகிறவர்களின் ஓலமாகவும் மாறின.

My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 31

என் கண்களோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணின நான் ஒரு கன்னிகையின்மேல் நினைப்பாயிருப்பதெப்படி?

I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

அப்பொழுது உன்னதங்களிலிருந்து தேவன் அளிக்கும் பங்கும், உன்னதத்திலிருந்து சர்வவல்லவர் கொடுக்கும் சுதந்தரமும் கிடைக்குமோ?

For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

மாறுபாடானவனுக்கு ஆபத்தும், அக்கிரமச் செய்கைக்காரருக்கு ஆக்கினையுமல்லவோ கிடைக்கும்.

Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

அவர் என் வழிகளைப் பார்த்து, என் நடைகளையெல்லாம் எண்ணுகிறார் அல்லவோ?

Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

நான் மாயையிலே நடந்தேனோ, என் கால் கபடுசெய்யத் தீவிரித்ததோ என்று,

If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

சுமுத்திரையான தராசிலே தேவன் என்னை நிறுத்து, என் உத்தமத்தை அறிவாராக.

Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.

என் நடைகள் வழியைவிட்டு விலகினதும், என் இருதயம் என் கண்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்ததும், ஏதாகிலும் ஒரு மாசு என் கைகளில் ஒட்டிக்கொண்டதும் உண்டானால்,

If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;

அப்பொழுது நான் விதைத்ததை வேறொருவன் புசிப்பானாக; என் பயிர்கள் வேரற்றுப்போகக்கடவது.

Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

என் மனம் யாதொரு ஸ்திரீயின்மேல் மயங்கி, அயலானுடைய வாசலை நான் எட்டிப்பார்த்ததுண்டானால்,

If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;

அப்பொழுது என் மனைவி வேறொருவனுக்கு மாவரைப்பாளாக; வேற்று மனிதர் அவள்மேல் சாய்வார்களாக.

Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

அது தோஷம், அது நியாயாதிபதிகளால் விசாரிக்கப்படும் அக்கிரமமாமே.

For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

அது பாதாளபரியந்தம் பட்சிக்கும் அக்கினியாய் என் சம்பத்தையெல்லாம் நிர்மூலமாக்கும்.

For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

என் வேலைக்காரனானாலும், என் வேலைக்காரியானாலும், என்னோடு வழக்காடும்போது, அவர்கள் நியாயத்தை நான் அசட்டைபண்ணியிருந்தால்,

If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

தேவன் எழும்பும்போது, நான் என்ன செய்வேன்; அவர் விசாரிக்கும்போது, நான் அவருக்கு என்ன மறுஉத்தரவு சொல்லுவேன்.

What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் என்னை உண்டுபண்ணினவர் அவனையும் உண்டுபண்ணினார் அல்லவோ? ஒரேவிதமான கர்ப்பத்தில் எங்களை உருவாக்கினார் அல்லவோ?

Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

எளியவர்கள் வாஞ்சித்ததை நான் கொடாதிருந்து, விதவையின் கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகப்பண்ணி,

If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

தாய்தகப்பனில்லாத பிள்ளை என் ஆகாரத்தில் சாப்பிடாமல், நான் ஒருவனாய்ச் சாப்பிட்டதுண்டோ?

Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;

என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் அவன் தகப்பனிடத்தில் வளர்வதுபோல என்னோடே வளர்ந்தான்; நான் என் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்திலே பிறந்ததுமுதல் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களைக் கைலாகுகொடுத்து நடத்தினேன்.

(For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)

ஒருவன் உடுப்பில்லாததினால் மடிந்துபோகிறதையும், ஏழைக்கு மூட வஸ்திரமில்லாதிருக்கிறதையும் நான் கண்டபோது,

If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;

அவன் என் ஆட்டுமயிர்க் கம்பளியினாலே அனல்கொண்டதினால், அவன் இடை என்னைப் புகழாதிருந்ததும்,

If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

ஒலிமுகவாசலில் எனக்குச் செல்வாக்கு உண்டென்று நான் கண்டு, திக்கற்றவனுக்கு விரோதமாய் என் கையை நீட்டினதும் உண்டானால்,

If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:

என் கைப்பட்டை தோளிலிருந்து சரிந்து, என் புயத்து எலும்பு முறிந்துபோவதாக.

Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

தேவன் ஆக்கினையிடுவார் என்றும், அவருடைய மகத்துவத்தை உத்தரிக்கக்கூடாது என்றும், எனக்குப் பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது.

For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his highness I could not endure.

நான் பொன்னின்மேல் என் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்து, தங்கத்தைப்பார்த்து: நீ என் ஆதரவு என்று நான் சொன்னதும்,

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

என் ஆஸ்திபெரியதென்றும், என் கைக்கு மிகுதியும் கிடைத்ததென்றும் நான் மகிழ்ந்ததும்,

If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

சூரியன் பிரகாசிக்கும்போதும், அல்லது சந்திரன் மகிமையாய்ச் செல்லும்போதும், நான் அதை நோக்கி:

If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

என் மனம் இரகசியமாய் மயக்கப்பட்டு, என் வாய் என் கையை முத்தி செய்ததுண்டானால்,

And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

இதுவும் நியாயாதிபதிகளால் விசாரிக்கப்படத்தக்க அக்கிரமமாயிருக்கும்; அதினால் உன்னதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனை மறுதலிப்பேனே.

This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

என் பகைஞனுடைய ஆபத்திலே நான் மகிழ்ந்து, பொல்லாப்பு அவனுக்கு நேரிட்டபோது களிகூர்ந்திருந்தேனோ?

If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

அவன் ஜீவனுக்குச் சாபத்தைக் கொடுக்கும்படி விரும்பி, வாயினால் பாவஞ்செய்ய நான் இடங்கொடுக்கவில்லை.

Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.

அவன் இனத்தார்களில் திருப்தியாகாதவனைக் காண்பிப்பவன் யாரென்று என் கூடாரத்தின் மனுஷர் சொல்லார்களோ?

If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

பரதேசி வீதியிலே இராத்தங்கினதில்லை; வழிப்போக்கனுக்கு என் வாசல்களைத் திறந்தேன்.

The stranger did not lodge in the street: but I opened my doors to the traveller.

நான் ஆதாமைப்போல என் மீறுதல்களை மூடி, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என் மடியிலே ஒளித்துவைத்தேனோ?

If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

திரளான என் கூட்டத்துக்கு நான் பயந்ததினாலாவது, இனத்தார் ஜனத்தார் பண்ணும் இகழ்ச்சி என்னைத் திடுக்கிடப்பண்ணினதினாலாவது, நான் பேசாதிருந்து, வாசற்படியை விட்டுப் புறப்படாதிருந்தேனோ?

Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?

ஆ, என் வழக்கைக் கேட்கிறவன் ஒருவன் இருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; இதோ, சர்வவல்லவர் எனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளிச்செய்யவும், என் எதிராளி தன் வழக்கை எழுதிக்கொடுக்கவும் எனக்கு விருப்பமுண்டு.

Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.

அதை நான் என் தோளின்மேல் வைத்து, எனக்குக் கிரீடமாகத் தரித்துக்கொள்வேனே.

Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

அவனுக்கு நான் என் நடைகளைத் தொகை தொகையாய்க் காண்பித்து, ஒரு பிரபுவைப்போல அவனிடத்தில் போவேன்.

I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

எனக்கு விரோதமாக என் காணி பூமி கூப்பிடுகிறதும், அதின் படைச்சால்கள்கூட அழுகிறதும்,

If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;

கூலிகொடாமல் நான் அதின் பலனைப் புசித்து, பயிரிட்டவர்களின் ஆத்துமாவை உபத்திரவப்படுத்தினதும் உண்டானால்,

If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

அதில் கோதுமைக்குப் பதிலாக முள்ளும், வாற்கோதுமைக்குப் பதிலாகக் களையும் முளைக்கக்கடவது என்றான். யோபின் வார்த்தைகள் முடிந்தது.

Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 32

யோபு தன் பார்வைக்கு நீதிமானாயிருந்தபடியினால், அவனுக்கு அந்த மூன்று மனுஷரும் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லி ஓய்ந்தார்கள்.

So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

அதினால் ராமின் வம்சத்தானான பூசியனாகிய பரகெயேலின் குமாரன் எலிகூவுக்குக் கோபம்மூண்டது, யோபு, தேவனைப்பார்க்கிலும் தன்னைத்தான் நீதிமானாக்கினதினிமித்தம், அவன்மேலும் அவனுக்குக் கோபம் மூண்டது.

Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

கொடுக்கத்தக்க மறுமொழி யோபின் மூன்று சிநேகிதருக்கும் அகப்படாதிருந்தும், அவர்கள் அவனை ஆகாதவனென்று தீர்த்ததினிமித்தம், அவர்கள்மேலும் அவனுக்குக் கோபம் மூண்டது.

Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

அவர்கள் தன்னைப்பார்க்கிலும் வயதுசென்றவர்களானபடியினால், எலிகூ யோபின் வார்த்தைகள் முடிந்து தீருமட்டும் காத்திருந்தான்.

Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.

அந்த மூன்று மனுஷரின் வாயிலும் மறுஉத்தரவு பிறக்கவில்லையென்று எலிகூ கண்டபோது, அவனுக்குக் கோபம் மூண்டது.

When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

ஆதலால் பரகெயேலின் குமாரன் எலிகூ என்னும் பூசியன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் இளவயதுள்ளவன், நீங்களோ விருத்தாப்பியர்; ஆகையால் நான் அஞ்சி, என் அபிப்பிராயத்தை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக வெளிப்படுத்தப் பயந்திருந்தேன்.

And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

முதியோர் பேசட்டும், வயது சென்றவர்கள் ஞானத்தை அறிவிக்கட்டும் என்றிருந்தேன்.

I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

ஆனாலும் மனுஷரில் ஒரு ஆவியுண்டு; சர்வவல்லவருடைய சுவாசமே அவர்களை உணர்வுள்ளவர்களாக்கும்.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

பெரியோரெல்லாம் ஞானிகளல்ல; முதியோரெல்லாம் நீதியை அறிந்தவர்களுமல்ல.

Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

ஆகையால் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; நானும் என் அபிப்பிராயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன் என்றேன்.

Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.

இதோ, உங்கள் வசனங்கள் முடியுமட்டும் காத்திருந்தேன்; நீங்கள் சொல்லத்தக்கதை ஆராய்ந்து தேடுமட்டும், உங்கள் நியாயங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தேன்.

Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.

நான் உங்கள் சொல்லைக் கவனித்தேன்; ஆனாலும் இதோ, உங்களில் யோபுக்கு நியாயத்தைத் தெரியக்காட்டி, அவருடைய வசனங்களுக்கு ஏற்ற பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுகிறவனில்லை.

Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:

ஞானத்தைக் கண்டுபிடித்தோம் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லாதபடி பாருங்கள்; மனுஷனல்ல, தேவனே அவரை ஜெயங்கொள்ளவேண்டும்.

Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

அவர் என்னைப்பார்த்துப் பேசினதில்லை; நீங்கள் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளினால் நான் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்வதுமில்லை.

Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.

அவர்கள் கலங்கி அப்புறம் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லாதிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு பேச்சு அற்றுப் போயிற்று.

They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.

அவர்கள் பேசார்களோ என்று காத்திருந்தேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் அப்புறம் மறுமொழி கொடாமலிருந்தபடியினால்,

When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)

நானும் பிரதியுத்தரமாக எனக்குத் தோன்றியமட்டும் சொல்லுவேன்; நானும் என் அபிப்பிராயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

வார்த்தைகள் எனக்குள் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது; என் உள்ளத்திலுள்ள ஆவி என்னை நெருக்கி ஏவுகிறது.

For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

நான் ஆறுதலடையும்படி பேசுவேன்; என் உதடுகளைத் திறந்து பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுவேன்.

I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

நான் ஒருவனுடைய முகத்தைப் பாராமலும், ஒரு மனுஷனுக்கும் இச்சகம் பேசாமலும் இருப்பேனாக.

Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.

நான் இச்சகம் பேச அறியேன்; பேசினால் என்னை உண்டாக்கினவர் சீக்கிரமாய் என்னை எடுத்துக்கொள்வார்.

For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.

அந்த நாட்களிலே திரளான ஜனங்கள் கூடிவந்திருக்கையில், அவர்கள் சாப்பிடுகிறதற்கு ஒன்றுமில்லாதபோது, இயேசு தம்முடைய சீஷரை அழைத்து:

In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,

ஜனங்களுக்காகப் பரிதபிக்கிறேன், இவர்கள் இப்பொழுது என்னிடத்தில் தங்கியிருந்த மூன்றுநாளாய்ச் சாப்பிட ஒன்றுமில்லாதிருக்கிறார்கள்.

I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:

இவர்களில் சிலர் தூரத்திலிருந்து வந்தவர்களாகையால், நான் இவர்களைப் பட்டினியாய் வீட்டிற்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டால் வழியில் சோர்ந்துபோவார்களே என்றார்.

And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.

அதற்கு அவருடைய சீஷர்கள்: இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே ஒருவன் எங்கேயிருந்து அப்பங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து இத்தனைபேர்களைத் திருப்தியாக்கக்கூடும் என்றார்கள்.

And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?

அதற்கு அவர்: உங்களிடத்தில் எத்தனை அப்பங்கள் உண்டு என்று கேட்டார். அவர்கள்: ஏழு அப்பங்கள் உண்டு என்றார்கள்.

And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.

அப்பொழுது அவர் ஜனங்களைத் தரையிலே பந்தியிருக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டு, இந்த ஏழு அப்பங்களையும் எடுத்து, ஸ்தோத்திரம்பண்ணி, பிட்டு, அவர்களுக்குப் பரிமாறும்படி சீஷர்களிடத்தில் கொடுத்தார்; அவர்கள் ஜனங்களுக்குப் பரிமாறினார்கள்.

And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.

சில சிறுமீன்களும் அவர்களிடத்தில் இருந்தது; அவர் அவைகளையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து அவர்களுக்குப் பரிமாறும்படி சொன்னார்.

And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.

அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள்; மீதியான துணிக்கைகளை ஏழுகூடை நிறைய எடுத்தார்கள்.

So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.

சாப்பிட்டவர்கள் ஏறக்குறைய நாலாயிரம்பேராயிருந்தார்கள். பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.

And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.

உடனே அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரோடேகூடப் படவில் ஏறி, தல்மனூத்தாவின் எல்லைகளில் வந்தார்.

And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.

அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர் வந்து அவரோடே தர்க்கிக்கத்தொடங்கி, அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி, வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காண்பிக்கவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

அவர் தம்முடைய ஆவியில் பெருமூச்சுவிட்டு: இந்தச் சந்ததியார் அடையாளம் தேடுகிறதென்ன? இந்தச் சந்ததியாருக்கு ஒரு அடையாளமும் கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லையென்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லி,

And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

அவர்களை விட்டு மறுபடியும் படவில் ஏறி, அக்கரைக்குப் போனார்.

And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.

சீஷர்கள் அப்பங்களைக் கொண்டுவர மறந்துபோனார்கள்; படவிலே அவர்களிடத்தில் ஒரு அப்பம் மாத்திரம் இருந்தது.

Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் பரிசேயருடைய புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்தும் ஏரோதின் புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்தும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள் என்று கற்பித்தார்.

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நம்மிடத்தில் அப்பங்கள் இல்லாதபடியால் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே யோசனைபண்ணிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.

இயேசு அதை அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களிடத்தில் அப்பங்கள் இல்லாதபடியினால் நீங்கள் யோசனைபண்ணுகிறதென்ன? இன்னும் சிந்தியாமலும் உணராமலும் இருக்கிறீர்களா? இன்னும் உங்கள் இருதயம் கடினமாயிருக்கிறதா?

And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?

உங்களுக்குக் கண்களிருந்தும் காணாதிருக்கிறீர்களா? காதுகளிருந்தும் கேளாதிருக்கிறீர்களா? நினைவுகூராமலுமிருக்கிறீர்களா?

Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

நான் ஐந்து அப்பங்களை ஐயாயிரம்பேருக்குப் பங்கிட்டபோது, மீதியான துணிக்கைகளை எத்தனை கூடைநிறைய எடுத்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார், பன்னிரண்டு என்றார்கள்.

When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.

நான் ஏழு அப்பங்களை நாலாயிரம்பேருக்குப் பங்கிட்டபோது, மீதியான துணிக்கைகளை எத்தனை கூடைநிறைய எடுத்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார். ஏழு என்றார்கள்.

And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

அப்படியானால், நீங்கள் உணராதிருக்கிறது எப்படி என்றார்.

And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

பின்பு அவர் பெத்சாயிதா ஊருக்கு வந்தார்; அப்பொழுது ஒரு குருடனை அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைத் தொடும்படி அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

அவர் குருடனுடைய கையைப் பிடித்து, அவனைக் கிராமத்துக்கு வெளியே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவன் கண்களில் உமிழ்ந்து, அவன்மேல் கைகளை வைத்து: எதையாகிலும் காண்கிறாயா என்று கேட்டார்.

And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

அவன் ஏறிட்டுப் பார்த்து: நடக்கிற மனுஷரை மரங்களைப்போலக் காண்கிறேன் என்றான்.

And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

பின்பு அவர் மறுபடியும் அவன் கண்களின்மேல் கைகளை வைத்து, அவனை ஏறிட்டுப் பார்க்கும்படி செய்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவன் சொஸ்தமடைந்து, யாவரையும் தெளிவாய்க் கண்டான்.

After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

பின்பு அவர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ கிராமத்தில் பிரவேசியாமலும், கிராமத்தில் இதை ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லாமலும் இரு என்று சொல்லி, அவனை வீட்டிற்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.

And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

பின்பு, இயேசுவும் அவருடைய சீஷர்களும் புறப்பட்டு, பிலிப்பு செசரியா பட்டணத்தைச் சேர்ந்த கிராமங்களுக்குப் போனார்கள். வழியிலே அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷர்களை நோக்கி: ஜனங்கள் என்னை யார் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள் என்று கேட்டார்.

And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: சிலர் உம்மை யோவான்ஸ்நானன் என்றும், சிலர் எலியா என்றும், வேறு சிலர் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவர் என்றும் சொல்லுகிறார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

அப்பொழுது, அவர்: நீங்கள் என்னை யார் என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார்; பேதுரு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீர் கிறிஸ்து என்றான்.

And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.

அப்பொழுது தம்மைக்குறித்து ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லாதபடிக்கு அவர்களுக்கு உறுதியாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.

அல்லாமலும், மனுஷகுமாரன் பலபாடுகள்பட்டு, மூப்பராலும் பிரதான ஆசாரியராலும் வேதபாரகராலும் ஆகாதவனென்று தள்ளப்பட்டு, கொல்லப்பட்டு, மூன்றுநாளைக்குப்பின்பு உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருக்கவேண்டியதென்று அவர்களுக்குப் போதிக்கத் தொடங்கினார்.

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

இந்த வார்த்தையை அவர் தாராளமாகச் சொன்னார். அப்பொழுது, பேதுரு அவரைத் தனியே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவரைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளத் தொடங்கினான்.

And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.

அவர் திரும்பித் தம்முடைய சீஷரைப் பார்த்து, பேதுருவை நோக்கி: எனக்குப் பின்னாகப்போ, சாத்தானே, நீ தேவனுக்கு ஏற்றவைகளைச் சிந்தியாமல் மனுஷருக்கு ஏற்றவைகளைச் சிந்திக்கிறாய் என்று சொல்லி, அவனைக் கடிந்து கொண்டார்.

But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

பின்பு அவர் ஜனங்களையும் தம்முடைய சீஷர்களையும் தம்மிடத்தில் அழைத்து: ஒருவன் என் பின்னே வரவிரும்பினால், அவன் தன்னைத்தானே வெறுத்து, தன் சிலுவையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, என்னைப் பின்பற்றக்கடவன்.

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

தன் ஜீவனை இரட்சிக்க விரும்புகிறவன் அதை இழந்துபோவான், என்னிமித்தமாகவும் சுவிசேஷத்தினிமித்தமாகவும் தன் ஜீவனை இழந்துபோகிறவன் அதை இரட்சித்துக்கொள்ளுவான்.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

மனுஷன் உலகம் முழுவதையும் ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொண்டாலும், தன் ஜீவனை நஷ்டப்படுத்தினால் அவனுக்கு லாபம் என்ன?

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

மனுஷன் தன் ஜீவனுக்கு ஈடாக என்னத்தைக் கொடுப்பான்?

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

ஆதலால் விபசாரமும் பாவமுமுள்ள இந்தச் சந்ததியில் என்னைக்குறித்தும் என் வார்த்தைகளைக்குறித்தும் எவன் வெட்கப்படுவானோ, அவனைக் குறித்து மனுஷகுமாரனும் தமது பிதாவின் மகிமைபொருந்தினவராய்ப் பரிசுத்த தூதர்களோடுங்கூட வரும்போது வெட்கப்படுவார் என்றார்.

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
