யோபு அத்தியாயம் 9

அதற்கு யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

Then Job answered and said,

ஆம், காரியம் இப்படியிருக்கிறது என்று அறிவேன்; தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக மனுஷன் நீதிமானாயிருப்பதெப்படி?

I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?

அவர் அவனோடே வழக்காடச் சித்தமாயிருந்தால், ஆயிரத்தில் ஒன்றுக்காகிலும் அவருக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லமாட்டானே.

If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

அவர் இருதயத்தில் ஞானமுள்ளவர், பெலத்தில் பராக்கிரமமுள்ளவர்; அவருக்கு விரோதமாகத் தன்னைக் கடினப்படுத்தி வாழ்ந்தவன் யார்?

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?

அவர் பர்வதங்களைச் சடிதியாய்ப் பேர்க்கிறார்; தம்முடைய கோபத்தில் அவைகளைப் புரட்டிப்போடுகிறார்.

Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

பூமியின் தூண்கள் அதிரத்தக்கதாய் அதை அதின் ஸ்தானத்தினின்று அசையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

அவர் சூரியனுக்குக் கட்டளையிட அது உதிக்காதிருக்கும்; அவர் நட்சத்திரங்களை மறைத்துப்போடுகிறார்.

Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

அவர் ஒருவரே வானங்களை விரித்து, சமுத்திர அலைகளின்மேல் நடக்கிறவர்.

Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

அவர் துருவச்சக்கர நட்சத்திரங்களையும், மிருகசீரிஷத்தையும், அறுமீனையும், தட்சண மண்டலங்களையும் உண்டாக்கினவர்.

Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

ஆராய்ந்து முடியாத பெரிய காரியங்களையும், எண்ணி முடியாத அதிசயங்களையும் அவர் செய்கிறார்.

Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

இதோ, அவர் என் அருகில் போகிறார், நான் அவரைக் காணேன்; அவர் கடந்துபோகிறார், நான் அவரை அறியேன்.

Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

இதோ, அவர் பறித்துக்கொண்டுபோகிறார், அவரை மறிப்பவன் யார்? நீர் என்ன செய்கிறீர் என்று அவரைக் கேட்பவன் யார்?

Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

தேவன் தம்முடைய கோபத்தைத் திருப்பமாட்டார்; ஒருவருக்கொருவர் துணைநிற்கிற அகங்காரிகள் அவருக்கு அடங்கவேண்டும்.

If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

இப்படியிருக்க, அவருக்கு மறுமொழி கொடுக்கவும், அவரோடே வழக்காடும் வார்த்தைகளைத் தெரிந்து கொள்ளவும் நான் எம்மாத்திரம்?

How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?

நான் நீதிமானாயிருந்தாலும் அவரோடே வழக்காடாமல், என் நியாயாதிபதியினிடத்தில் இரக்கத்துக்குக் கெஞ்சுவேன்.

Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

நான் கெஞ்ச. அவர் எனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளினாலும், அவர் என் விண்ணப்பத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார் என்று நம்பேன்.

If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

அவர் புசலினால் என்னை முறிக்கிறார்; முகாந்தரமில்லாமல் அநேகம் காயங்களை எனக்கு உண்டாக்குகிறார்.

For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.

நான் மூச்சுவிட எனக்கு இடங்கொடாமல், கசப்பினால் என்னை நிரப்புகிறார்.

He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.

பெலத்தைப் பார்த்தால், அவரே பெலத்தவர்; நியாயத்தைப் பார்த்தால் என் பட்சத்தில் சாட்சி சொல்லுகிறவன் யார்?

If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

நான் என்னை நீதிமானாக்கினாலும் என் வாயே என்னைக் குற்றவாளியாக்கும்; நான் உத்தமன் என்று சொன்னாலும், நான் மாறுபாடானவன் என்று அது சாட்சிகொடுக்கும்.

If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

நான் உத்தமனென்றாலும் என் உள்ளத்தை நான் அறியேன்; என் ஜீவனை அரோசிப்பேன்.

Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.

ஒரு காரியம் உண்டு, அதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; சன்மார்க்கனையும் துன்மார்க்கனையும் அவர் அழிக்கிறார்.

This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.

சவுக்கானது அசுப்பிலே வாதித்துக் கொல்லும்போது, அவர் குற்றமில்லாதவர்களின் சோதனையைப் பார்த்து நகைக்கிறார்.

If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.

உலகம் துன்மார்க்கர் கையில் விடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; அதிலிருக்கிற நியாயாதிபதிகளின் முகத்தை மூடிப்போடுகிறார்; அவர் இதைச் செய்கிறதில்லையென்றால், பின்னை யார் இதைச் செய்கிறார்.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

என் நாட்கள் அஞ்சற்காரர் ஓட்டத்திலும் தீவிரமாயிருக்கிறது; அவைகள் நன்மையைக் காணாமல் பறந்துபோம்.

Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.

அவைகள் வேகமாய் ஓடுகிற கப்பல்களைப்போலவும், இரையின்மேல் பாய்கிற கழுகைப்போலவும் கடந்துபோகிறது.

They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.

என் அங்கலாய்ப்பை நான் மறந்து, என் முகத்தின் துக்கத்தை மாற்றி, திடன்கொள்வேன் என்று சொன்னால்,

If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself:

என் வருத்தங்களைப்பற்றிப் பயமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னைக் குற்றமில்லாதவனாக எண்ணமாட்டீர் என்று அறிவேன்.

I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

நான் பொல்லாதவனாயிருந்தால், விருதாவாய்ப் போராடவேண்டியது என்ன?

If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?

நான் உறைந்த மழைத் தண்ணீரில் முழுகி, என் கைகளைச் சவுக்காரத்தினால் சுத்தம்பண்ணினாலும்,

If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;

நீர் என்னைச் சேற்றுப்பள்ளத்திலே அமிழ்த்துவீர். அப்பொழுது என் வஸ்திரமே என்னை அருவருக்கும்.

Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.

நான் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுகிறதற்கும், நாங்கள் கூடி நியாயத்திற்கு வருகிறதற்கும், அவர் என்னைப்போல மனுஷன் அல்லவே.

For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

எங்கள் இருவர்மேலும் தன் கையை வைக்கத்தக்க மத்தியஸ்தன் எங்களுக்குள் இல்லையே.

Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

அவர் தமது மிலாற்றை என்னைவிட்டு அகற்றுவாராக; அவருடைய பயங்கரம் என்னைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணாதிருப்பதாக.

Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:

அப்பொழுது நான் அவருக்குப் பயப்படாமல் பேசுவேன்; இப்பொழுதோ அப்படிச் செய்ய இடமில்லை.

Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 10

என் ஆத்துமா ஜீவனை அரோசிக்கிறது, நான் என் துயரத்துக்கு எனக்குள்ளே இடங்கொடுத்து, என் மனச்சஞ்சலத்தினாலே பேசுவேன்.

My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

நான் தேவனை நோக்கி: என்னைக் குற்றவாளியென்று தீர்க்காதிரும்; நீர் எதினிமித்தம் என்னோடே வழக்காடுகிறீர், அதை எனக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தும் என்பேன்.

I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.

நீர் என்னை ஒடுக்கி, உம்முடைய கைகளின் கிரியையை வெறுத்து, துன்மார்க்கரின் யோசனையைக் கிருபையாய்ப் பார்க்கிறது உமக்கு நன்றாயிருக்குமோ?

Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

மாம்சக்கண்கள் உமக்கு உண்டோ? மனுஷன் பார்க்கிறபிரகாரமாய்ப் பார்க்கிறீரோ?

Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?

நீர் என் அக்கிரமத்தைக் கிண்டிக்கிளப்பி, என் பாவத்தை ஆராய்ந்து விசாரிக்கிறதற்கு,

Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days,

உம்முடைய நாட்கள் ஒரு மனுஷனுடைய நாட்களைப்போலவும், உம்முடைய வருஷங்கள் ஒரு புருஷனுடைய ஜீவகாலத்தைப்போலவும் இருக்கிறதோ?

That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?

நான் துன்மார்க்கன் அல்ல என்பது உமக்குத் தெரியும்; உம்முடைய கைக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவிக்கிறவன் இல்லை.

Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.

உம்முடைய கரங்கள் என்னையும் எனக்குரிய எல்லாவற்றையும் உருவாக்கிப் படைத்திருந்தும், என்னை நிர்மூலமாக்குகிறீர்.

Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.

களிமண்போல என்னை உருவாக்கினீர் என்பதையும், என்னைத் திரும்பத் தூளாகப்போகப்பண்ணுவீர் என்பதையும் நினைத்தருளும்.

Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

நீர் என்னைப் பால்போல் வார்த்து, தயிர்போல் உறையப்பண்ணினீர் அல்லவோ?

Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

தோலையும் சதையையும் எனக்குத் தரித்து, எலும்புகளாலும் நரம்புகளாலும் என்னை இசைத்தீர்.

Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

எனக்கு ஜீவனைத் தந்ததும் அல்லாமல், தயவையும் எனக்குப் பாராட்டினீர்; உம்முடைய பராமரிப்பு என் ஆவியைக் காப்பாற்றினது.

Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

இவைகள் உம்முடைய உள்ளத்தில் மறைந்திருந்தாலும், இது உமக்குள் இருக்கிறது என்று அறிவேன்.

And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.

நான் பாவஞ்செய்தால், அதை நீர் என்னிடத்தில் விசாரித்து, என் அக்கிரமத்தை என்மேல் சுமத்தாமல் விடீர்.

If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

நான் துன்மார்க்கனாயிருந்தால் எனக்கு ஐயோ! நான் நீதிமானாயிருந்தாலும் என் தலையை நான் எடுக்கமாட்டேன்; அவமானத்தால் நிரப்பப்பட்டேன்; நீர் என் சிறுமையைப் பார்த்தருளும், அது அதிகரிக்கிறது.

If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;

சிங்கத்தைப்போல என்னை வேட்டையாடி, எனக்கு விரோதமாய் உமது அதிசய வல்லமையை விளங்கப்பண்ணுகிறீர்.

For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.

நீர் உம்முடைய சாட்சிகளை எனக்கு விரோதமாய் இரட்டிக்கப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; என்மேல் உம்முடைய கோபத்தை அதிகரிக்கப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; போராட்டத்தின்மேல் போராட்டம் அதிகரிக்கிறது.

Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.

நீர் என்னைக் கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினது என்ன? ஒரு கண்ணும் என்னைக் காணாதபடி, நான் அப்பொழுதே ஜீவித்துப்போனால் நலமாமே.

Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!

நான் ஒருக்காலும் இல்லாதது போலிருந்து, கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து பிரேதக்குழிக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டிருப்பேன்.

I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

என் நாட்கள் கொஞ்சமல்லவோ?

Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

காரிருளும் மரணாந்தகாரமுமான இருண்ட தேசமும், இருள்சூழ்ந்த ஒழுங்கில்லாத மரணாந்தகாரமுள்ள தேசமும், ஒளியும் இருளாகும் தேசமுமாகிய, போனால் திரும்பிவராத தேசத்துக்கு, நான் போகுமுன்னே,

Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;

நான் சற்று இளைப்பாறும்படி நீர் என்னைவிட்டு ஓய்ந்திரும் என்றான்.

A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 11

அப்பொழுது நாகமாத்தியனாகிய சோப்பார் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

ஏராளமான வார்த்தைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லவேண்டாமோ? வாய்ச்சாலகன் நீதிமானாய் விளங்குவானோ?

Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

உம்முடைய வீம்புவார்த்தைகளுக்கு மனுஷர் மவுனமாயிருப்பார்களோ? நீர் பரியாசம்பண்ணும்போது, ஒருவரும் உம்மை வெட்கப்படுத்தவேண்டாமோ?

Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

என் சொல் சுத்தம் என்றும், நான் தேவரீருடைய பார்வைக்குத் துப்புரவானவன் என்றும் நீர் சொல்லுகிறீர்.

For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

ஆனாலும் தேவன் பேசி, உமக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தம்முடைய உதடுகளைத் திறந்து,

But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

உமக்கு ஞானத்தின் இரகசியங்களை வெளிப்படுத்தினால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; உள்ளபடி பார்த்தால், அது இரட்டிப்புள்ளதாயிருக்கிறது; ஆகையால் உம்முடைய அக்கிரமத்திற்கேற்றபடி தேவன் உம்மைத் தண்டிக்கவில்லையென்று அறிந்துகொள்ளும்.

And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

தேவனுடைய அந்தரங்க ஞானத்தை நீர் ஆராய்ந்து, சர்வவல்லவருடைய சம்பூரணத்தை நீர் அறியக்கூடுமோ?

Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

அது வானபரியந்தம் உயர்ந்தது; உம்மால் என்ன ஆகும்? அது பாதாளத்திலும் ஆழமானது, நீர் அறியக்கூடியது என்ன?

It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

அதின் அளவு பூமியைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீளமும், சமுத்திரத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அகலமுமாயிருக்கிறது.

The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

அவர் பிடித்தாலும், அவர் அடைத்தாலும், அவர் நியாயத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து நிறுத்தினாலும், அவரைத் தடைபண்ணுகிறவன் யார்?

If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

மனுஷருடைய மாயத்தை அவர் அறிவார்; அக்கிரமத்தை அவர் கண்டும், அதைக் கவனியாதிருப்பாரோ?

For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

புத்தியில்லாத மனுஷன் காட்டுக்கழுதைக்குட்டிக்கு ஒப்பாகப் பிறந்திருந்தாலும், பெருநெஞ்சுள்ளவனாயிருக்கிறான்.

For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.

நீர் உம்முடைய இருதயத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தி, உம்முடைய கைகளை அவருக்கு நேராக விரித்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

உம்முடைய கையிலே அக்கிரமம் இருந்தால், அதைத் தூரத்தில் அகற்றிவிட்டு, அநியாயம் உம்முடைய கூடாரங்களில் வாசமாயிருக்கவொட்டாதிரும்.

If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய முகத்தை மாசில்லாமல் ஏறெடுத்து, பயப்படாமல் திடன்கொண்டிருப்பீர்.

For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

அப்பொழுது நீர் வருத்தத்தை மறந்து, கடந்துபோன தண்ணீரைப்போல அதை நினைப்பீர்.

Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய ஆயுசுகாலம் பட்டப்பகலைப்பார்க்கிலும் பிரகாசமாயிருக்கும்; இருள் அடைந்த நீர் விடியற்காலத்தைப்போலிருப்பீர்.

And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

நம்பிக்கை உண்டாயிருக்கிறதினால் திடனாயிருப்பீர்; தோண்டி ஆராய்ந்து சுகமாய்ப் படுத்துக்கொள்வீர்.

And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

பயப்படுத்துவாரில்லாமல் நித்திரை செய்வீர்; அநேகர் உமது முகத்தை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணுவார்கள்.

Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

துன்மார்க்கருடைய கண்கள் பூத்துப்போய், அவர்கள் அடைக்கலம் அவர்களை விட்டொழிந்து, அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை சாகிறவன் சுவாசம்போல் அழிந்துபோகும் என்றான்.

But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 12

யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

And Job answered and said,

ஆம், நீங்களே ஞானமுள்ள ஜனங்கள்; உங்களுடனே ஞானம் சாகும்.

No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

உங்களைப்போல எனக்கும் புத்தியுண்டு; உங்களிலும் நான் தாழ்ந்தவன் அல்ல; இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளை அறியாதவன் யார்?

But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

என் சிநேகிதரால் நான் நிந்திக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை நோக்கிப் பிரார்த்திப்பேன்; அவர் எனக்கு மறு உத்தரவு அருளுவார்; உத்தமனாகிய நீதிமான் பரியாசம்பண்ணப்படுகிறான்.

I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

ஆபத்துக்குள்ளானவன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறவனுடைய நினைவில் இகழ்ச்சியடைகிறான்; காலிடறினவர்களுக்கு இது நேரிடும்.

He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

கள்ளருடைய கூடாரங்களில் செல்வமுண்டு; தேவனைக் கோபப்படுத்துகிறவர்களுக்குச் சாங்கோபாங்கமுண்டு; அவர்கள் கையிலே தேவன் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுக்கிறார்.

The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.

இப்போதும் நீ மிருகங்களைக் கேட்டுப்பார், அவைகள் உனக்குப் போதிக்கும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும்.

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

அல்லது பூமியை விசாரித்துக் கேள், அது உனக்கு உபதேசிக்கும்; சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களைக் கேள், அவைகள் உனக்கு விவரிக்கும்.

Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

கர்த்தருடைய கரம் இதைச் செய்ததென்று இவைகளெல்லாவற்றினாலும் அறியாதவன் யார்?

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?

சகல பிராணிகளின் ஜீவனும், மாம்சமான சகல மனுஷரின் ஆவியும் அவர் கையிலிருக்கிறது.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

வாயானது போஜனத்தை ருசிபார்க்கிறதுபோல, செவியானது வார்த்தைகளைச் சோதித்துப்பார்க்கிறதல்லவா?

Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

முதியோரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வயது சென்றவர்களிடத்தில் புத்தியும் இருக்குமே.

With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

அவரிடத்தில் ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் எத்தனை அதிகமாய் இருக்கும்? அவருக்குத்தான் ஆலோசனையும் புத்தியும் உண்டு.

With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

இதோ, அவர் இடித்தால் கட்டமுடியாது; அவர் மனுஷனை அடைத்தால் விடுவிக்கமுடியாது.

Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

இதோ, அவர் தண்ணீர்களை அடக்கினால் எல்லாம் உலர்ந்துபோம்; அவர் அவைகளை வரவிட்டால், பூமியைக் கீழதுமேலதாக்கும்.

Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

அவரிடத்தில் பெலனும் ஞானமுமுண்டு; மோசம் போகிறவனும் மோசம் போக்குகிறவனும், அவர் கையின் கீழிருக்கிறார்கள்.

With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

அவர் ஆலோசனைக்காரரைச் சிறைபிடித்து, நியாயாதிபதிகளை மதிமயக்குகிறார்.

He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

அவர் ராஜாக்களுடைய கட்டுகளை அவிழ்த்து, அவர்கள் இடுப்புகளைக் கச்சைகட்டுகிறார்.

He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.

அவர் மந்திரிகளைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், பெலவான்களைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுகிறார்.

He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.

அவர் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவர்களுடைய வாக்கை விலக்கி, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவர்களின் ஆலோசனையை வாங்கிப்போடுகிறார்.

He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

அவர் பிரபுக்களின்மேல் இகழ்ச்சி வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்; பலவான்களின் கச்சையைத் தளர்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.

அவர் அந்தகாரத்திலிருக்கிற ஆழங்களை வெளியரங்கமாக்கி, மரண இருளை வெளிச்சத்தில் கொண்டுவருகிறார்.

He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பெருகவும் அழியவும்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவர் ஜாதிகளைப் பரவவும் குறுகவும் பண்ணுகிறார்.

He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.

அவர் பூமியிலுள்ள ஜனத்தினுடைய அதிபதிகளின் நெஞ்சை அகற்றிப்போட்டு, அவர்களை வழியில்லாத அந்தரத்திலே அலையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

அவர்கள் வெளிச்சமற்ற இருளிலே தடவித்திரிகிறார்கள்; வெறித்தவர்களைப்போல அவர்களைத் தடுமாறித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.

மாற்கு அத்தியாயம் 2

சிலநாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு அவர் மறுபடியும் கப்பர்நகூமுக்குப் போனார்; அவர் வீட்டிலிருக்கிறாரென்று ஜனங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு;

And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

உடனே வாசலுக்கு முன்னும் நிற்க இடம்போதாதபடிக்கு அநேகர் கூடிவந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு வசனத்தைப் போதித்தார்.

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

அப்பொழுது நாலுபேர் ஒரு திமிர்வாதக்காரனைச் சுமந்துகொண்டு அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்;

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

ஜனக்கூட்டத்தினிமித்தம் அவருக்குச் சமீபமாய்ச் சேரக்கூடாமல், அவர் இருந்த வீட்டின் மேற்கூரையைப் பிரித்துத் திறப்பாக்கி, திமிர்வாதக்காரன் கிடக்கிற படுக்கையை இறக்கினார்கள்.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

இயேசு அவர்கள் விசுவாசத்தைக் கண்டு, திமிர்வாதக்காரனை நோக்கி: மகனே, உன் பாவங்கள் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது என்றார்.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

அங்கே உட்கார்ந்திருந்த வேதபாரகரில் சிலர்:

But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

இவன் இப்படித் தேவதூஷணம் சொல்லுகிறதென்ன? தேவன் ஒருவரேயன்றிப் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கத்தக்கவர் யார் என்று தங்கள் இருதயங்களில் சிந்தித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள்ளே இப்படிச் சிந்திக்கிறார்களென்று இயேசு உடனே தம்முடைய ஆவியில் அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் இப்படிச் சிந்திக்கிறதென்ன?

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

உன் பாவங்கள் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்பட்டதென்று சொல்வதோ, எழுந்து உன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு நடவென்று சொல்வதோ, எது எளிது?

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

பூமியிலே பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க மனுஷகுமாரனுக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டென்பதை நீங்கள் அறியவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி, திமிர்வாதக்காரனை நோக்கி:

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

நீ எழுந்து, உன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, உன் வீட்டுக்குப் போ என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

உடனே, அவன் எழுந்து, தன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எல்லாருக்கும் முன்பாகப் போனான். அப்பொழுது எல்லாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: நாம் ஒருக்காலும் இப்படிக் கண்டதில்லையென்று சொல்லி, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

அவர் மறுபடியும் புறப்பட்டுக் கடலருகே போனார்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுக்குப் போதகம்பண்ணினார்.

And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.

அவர் நடந்துபோகையில், அல்பேயுவின் குமாரனாகிய லேவி ஆயத்துறையில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு: எனக்குப் பின்சென்றுவா என்றார்; அவன் எழுந்து அவருக்குப் பின்சென்றான்.

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

அப்பொழுது, அவனுடைய வீட்டிலே அவர் போஜனபந்தியிருக்கையில், அநேக ஆயக்காரரும் பாவிகளும் அவரோடுகூட வந்திருந்தபடியால், அவர்களும் இயேசுவோடும் அவர் சீஷரோடுங்கூடப் பந்தியிருந்தார்கள்.

And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

அவர் ஆயக்காரரோடும் பாவிகளோடும் போஜனம்பண்ணுகிறதை வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் கண்டு, அவருடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: அவர் ஆயக்காரரோடும் பாவிகளோடும் போஜனபானம் பண்ணுகிறதென்னவென்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

இயேசு அதைக் கேட்டு: பிணியாளிகளுக்கு வைத்தியன் வேண்டியதேயல்லாமல் சுகமுள்ளவர்களுக்கு வேண்டியதில்லை; நீதிமான்களையல்ல, பாவிகளையே மனந்திரும்புகிறதற்கு அழைக்கவந்தேன் என்றார்.

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

யோவானுடைய சீஷரும் பரிசேயருடைய சீஷரும் உபவாசம்பண்ணிவந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: யோவானுடைய சீஷரும் பரிசேயருடைய சீஷரும் உபவாசிக்கிறார்களே, உம்முடைய சீஷர் உபவாசியாமலிருக்கிறதென்னவென்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

அதற்கு இயேசு: மணவாளன் தங்களோடிருக்கையில் மணவாளனுடைய தோழர் உபவாசிப்பார்களா? மணவாளன் தங்களுடனே இருக்கும்வரைக்கும் உபவாசிக்கமாட்டார்களே.

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

மணவாளன் அவர்களை விட்டு எடுபடும் நாட்கள் வரும், அந்த நாட்களிலே உபவாசிப்பார்கள்.

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

ஒருவனும் கோடித்துண்டைப் பழையவஸ்திரத்தோடு இணைக்கமாட்டான், இணைத்தால், அதினோடே இணைத்த புதியதுண்டு பழையதை அதிகமாய்க் கிழிக்கும், பீறலும் அதிகமாகும்.

No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

ஒருவனும் புது திராட்சரசத்தைப் பழந்துருத்திகளில் வார்த்துவைக்கமாட்டான்; வார்த்துவைத்தால், புதுரசம் துருத்திகளைக் கிழித்துப்போடும், இரசமும் சிந்திப்போகும், துருத்திகளும் கெட்டுப்போகும்; புதுரசத்தைப் புது துருத்திகளில் வார்த்துவைக்கவேண்டும் என்றார்.

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

பின்பு, அவர் ஓய்வுநாளில் பயிர்வழியே போனார்; அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் கூட நடந்துபோகையில், கதிர்களைக் கொய்யத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.

பரிசேயர் அவரை நோக்கி: இதோ, ஓய்வுநாளில் செய்யத்தகாததை இவர்கள் ஏன் செய்கிறார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

அதற்கு அவர்: தாவீதுக்கு உண்டான ஆபத்தில், தானும் தன்னோடிருந்தவர்களும் பசியாயிருந்தபோது,

And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

அவன் அபியத்தார் என்னும் பிரதான ஆசாரியன் காலத்தில் செய்ததை நீங்கள் ஒருக்காலும் வாசிக்கவில்லையா? அவன் தேவனுடைய வீட்டில் பிரவேசித்து, ஆசாரியர்தவிர வேறொருவரும் புசிக்கத்தகாத தெய்வசமுகத்து அப்பங்களைத் தானும் புசித்துத் தன்னோடிருந்தவர்களுக்கும் கொடுத்தானே என்றார்.

How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?

பின்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: மனுஷன் ஓய்வுநாளுக்காக உண்டாக்கப்படவில்லை, ஓய்வுநாள் மனுஷனுக்காக உண்டாக்கப்பட்டது;

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

ஆகையால் மனுஷகுமாரன் ஓய்வு நாளுக்கும் ஆண்டவராய் இருக்கிறார் என்றார்.

Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

மாற்கு அத்தியாயம் 3

மறுபடியும் அவர் ஜெபஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்தார். அங்கே சூம்பின கையையுடைய ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்.

And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

அவர் ஓய்வுநாளில் அவனைச் சொஸ்தமாக்கினால் அவர்பேரில் குற்றஞ்சாட்டலாமென்று அவர்மேல் நோக்கமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

அப்பொழுது அவர் சூம்பின கையையுடைய மனுஷனை நோக்கி: எழுந்து நடுவே நில் என்று சொல்லி;

And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: ஓய்வுநாட்களில் நன்மைசெய்வதோ, தீமைசெய்வதோ, ஜீவனைக் காப்பதோ, அழிப்பதோ, எது நியாயம் என்றார். அதற்கு அவர்கள் பேசாமலிருந்தார்கள்.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

அவர்களுடைய இருதயகடினத்தினிமித்தம் அவர் விசனப்பட்டு, கோபத்துடனே சுற்றிலும் இருந்தவர்களைப் பார்த்து, அந்த மனுஷனை நோக்கி: உன் கையை நீட்டு என்றார்; அவன் நீட்டினான்; அவன் கை மறுகையைப்போலச் சொஸ்தமாயிற்று.

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

உடனே பரிசேயர் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், அவரைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி, அவருக்கு விரோதமாய் ஏரோதியரோடேகூட ஆலோசனைபண்ணினார்கள்.

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

இயேசு தம்முடைய சீஷர்களோடே அவ்விடம்விட்டு, கடலோரத்துக்குப் போனார்.

But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,

கலிலேயாவிலும், யூதேயாவிலும், எருசலேமிலும், இதுமேயாவிலும், யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலுமிருந்து திரளான ஜனங்கள் வந்து, அவருக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள். அல்லாமலும் தீரு சீதோன் பட்டணங்களின் திசைகளிலுமிருந்து திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவர் செய்த அற்புதங்களைக்குறித்துக் கேள்விப்பட்டு, அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்.

And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

அவர் அநேகரைச் சொஸ்தமாக்கினார். நோயாளிகளெல்லாரும் அதை அறிந்து அவரைத் தொடவேண்டுமென்று அவரிடத்தில் நெருங்கிவந்தார்கள்.

And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

ஜனங்கள் திரளாயிருந்தபடியால் அவர்கள் தம்மை நெருக்காதபடிக்கு, தமக்காக ஒரு படவை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணவேண்டுமென்று, தம்முடைய சீஷர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்.

For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

அசுத்த ஆவிகளும் அவரைக் கண்டபோது, அவர் முன்பாக விழுந்து: நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று சத்தமிட்டன.

And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

தம்மைப் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணாதபடி அவைகளுக்குக் கண்டிப்பாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

பின்பு அவர் ஒரு மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, தமக்குச் சித்தமானவர்களைத் தம்மிடத்தில் வரவழைத்தார்; அவர்கள் அவரிடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்.

And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

அப்பொழுது அவர் பன்னிரண்டுபேரைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, அவர்கள் தம்மோடுகூட இருக்கவும், பிரசங்கம்பண்ணும்படியாகத் தாம் அவர்களை அனுப்பவும்,

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

வியாதிகளைக் குணமாக்கிப் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தும்படி அவர்கள் அதிகாரமுடையவர்களாயிருக்கவும், அவர்களை ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

அவர்கள் யாரெனில், சீமோன், இவனுக்குப் பேதுரு என்கிற பெயரிட்டார்.

And Simon he surnamed Peter;

செபெதேயுவின் குமாரனாகிய யாக்கோபு, யாக்கோபின் சகோதரனாகிய யோவான், இவ்விருவருக்கும் இடிமுழக்கமக்களென்று அர்த்தங்கொள்ளும் பொவனெர்கேஸ் என்கிற பெயரிட்டார்,

And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

அந்திரேயா, பிலிப்பு, பற்தொலொமேயு, மத்தேயு, தோமா, அல்பேயுவின் குமாரன் யாக்கோபு, ததேயு, கானானியனாகிய சீமோன்,

And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவர்களே.

And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.

பின்பு வீட்டுக்குப் போனார்கள்; அங்கே அவர்கள் சாப்பிடுவதற்கும் சமயமில்லாதபடிக்கு அநேக ஜனங்கள் மறுபடியும் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.

And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

அவருடைய இனத்தார் இதைக்கேட்டபோது, அவர் மதிமயங்கியிருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லி, அவரைப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி வந்தார்கள்.

And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

எருசலேமிலிருந்து வந்த வேதபாரகர்: இவன் பெயெல்செபூலைக்கொண்டிருக்கிறான், பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறான் என்றார்கள்.

And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

அவர்களை அவர் அழைத்து, உவமைகளாய் அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னதாவது: சாத்தானைச் சாத்தான் துரத்துவது எப்படி?

And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

ஒரு ராஜ்யம் தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாகப்பிரிந்திருந்தால், அந்த ராஜ்யம் நிலைநிற்கமாட்டாதே.

And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

ஒரு வீடு தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாகப்பிரிந்திருந்தால், அந்த வீடு நிலைநிற்கமாட்டாதே.

And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

சாத்தான் தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாக எழும்பிப் பிரிந்திருந்தால், அவன் நிலைநிற்கமாட்டாமல், அழிந்துபோவானே.

And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

பலவானை முந்திக் கட்டினாலொழிய, ஒருவனும் பலவானுடைய வீட்டுக்குள் புகுந்து, அவன் உடைமைகளைக் கொள்ளையிடக்கூடாது; கட்டினானேயாகில், அவன் வீட்டைக் கொள்ளையிடுவான்.

No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்: மனுஷர்கள் செய்யும் எல்லாப் பாவங்களும், அவர்கள் தூஷிக்கும் எந்தத் தூஷணங்களும், அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்;

Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

ஒருவன் பரிசுத்த ஆவிக்கு விரோதமாகத் தூஷணஞ்சொல்வானாகில், அவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் மன்னிப்படையாமல் நித்திய ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாயிருப்பான் என்றார்.

But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

அசுத்த ஆவியைக் கொண்டிருக்கிறானென்று அவர்கள் சொன்னபடியினாலே அவர் இப்படிச் சொன்னார்.

Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சகோதரரும் தாயாரும் வந்து, வெளியே நின்று, அவரை அழைக்கும்படி அவரிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பினார்கள்.

There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

அவரைச் சுற்றிலும் உட்கார்ந்திருந்த ஜனங்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: இதோ, உம்முடைய தாயாரும் உம்முடைய சகோதரரும் வெளியே நின்று உம்மைத் தேடுகிறார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

அவர்களுக்கு அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் தாயார் யார்? என் சகோதரர் யார்? என்று சொல்லி;

And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

தம்மைச் சூழ உட்கார்ந்திருந்தவர்களைச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து: இதோ, என் தாயும் என் சகோதரரும் இவர்களே!

And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்கிறவன் எவனோ அவனே எனக்குச் சகோதரனும், எனக்குச் சகோதரியும், எனக்குத் தாயுமாய் இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.
