யோபு அத்தியாயம் 1

ஊத்ஸ் தேசத்திலே யோபு என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்; அந்த மனுஷன் உத்தமனும் சன்மார்க்கனும், தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து பொல்லாப்புக்கு விலகுகிறவனுமாயிருந்தான்.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

அவனுக்கு ஏழு குமாரரும், மூன்று குமாரத்திகளும் பிறந்தார்கள்.

And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

அவனுக்கு ஏழாயிரம் ஆடுகளும், மூவாயிரம் ஒட்டகங்களும், ஐந்நூறு ஏர்மாடுகளும், ஐந்நூறு கழுதைகளுமாகிய மிருகஜீவன்கள் இருந்ததுமன்றி, திரளான பணிவிடைக்காரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; அதினால் அந்த மனுஷன் கிழக்கத்திப் புத்திரர் எல்லாரிலும் பெரியவனாயிருந்தான்.

His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

அவன் குமாரர், அவனவன் தன்தன் நாளிலே தன்தன் வீட்டிலே விருந்துசெய்து, தங்கள் மூன்று சகோதரிகளையும் தங்களோடே போஜனம்பண்ணும்படி அழைப்பார்கள்.

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

விருந்துசெய்கிற அவரவருடைய நாள்முறை முடிகிறபோது, யோபு: ஒருவேளை என் குமாரர் பாவஞ்செய்து, தேவனைத் தங்கள் இருதயத்திலே தூஷித்திருப்பார்கள் என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களை அழைத்தனுப்பி, பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தி, அதிகாலமே எழுந்து, அவர்கள் எல்லாருடைய இலக்கத்தின்படியேயும் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளைச் செலுத்துவான்; இந்தப்பிரகாரமாக யோபு அந்நாட்களிலெல்லாம் செய்துவருவான்.

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

ஒருநாள் தேவபுத்திரர் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் வந்து நின்றபோது, சாத்தானும் அவர்கள் நடுவிலே வந்து நின்றான்.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

கர்த்தர் சாத்தானைப் பார்த்து: நீ எங்கேயிருந்து வருகிறாய் என்றார். சாத்தான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: பூமியெங்கும் உலாவி, அதில் சுற்றித்திரிந்து வருகிறேன் என்றான்.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

கர்த்தர் சாத்தானை நோக்கி: என் தாசனாகிய யோபின்மேல் கவனம் வைத்தாயோ? உத்தமனும் சன்மார்க்கனும், தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து, பொல்லாப்புக்கு விலகுகிறவனுமாகிய அவனைப்போல பூமியில் ஒருவனும் இல்லை என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

அதற்குச் சாத்தான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: யோபு விருதாவாகவா தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து நடக்கிறான்?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

நீர் அவனையும் அவன் வீட்டையும் அவனுக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் சுற்றி வேலியடைக்கவில்லையோ? அவன் கைகளின் கிரியையை ஆசீர்வதித்தீர்; அவனுடைய சம்பத்து தேசத்தில் பெருகிற்று.

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

ஆனாலும் உம்முடைய கையை நீட்டி அவனுக்கு உண்டானவையெல்லாம் தொடுவீரானால், அப்பொழுது அவன் உமது முகத்துக்கு எதிரே உம்மைத் தூஷிக்கானோ பாரும் என்றான்.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

கர்த்தர் சாத்தானை நோக்கி: இதோ, அவனுக்கு உண்டானவையெல்லாம் உன் கையிலிருக்கிறது; அவன்மேல் மாத்திரம் உன் கையை நீட்டாதே என்றார்; அப்பொழுது சாத்தான் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

பின்பு ஒருநாள் யோபுடைய குமாரரும், அவன் குமாரத்திகளும், தங்கள் மூத்த சகோதரன் வீட்டிலே புசித்து, திராட்சரசம் குடிக்கிறபோது,

And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

ஒரு ஆள் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து: எருதுகள் உழுகிறபோது, கழுதைகள் அவைகளின் பக்கத்திலே மேய்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கையில்,

And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

சபேயர் அவைகள்மேல் விழுந்து, அவைகளைச் சாய்த்துக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; வேலையாட்களையும் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்; நான் ஒருவன் மாத்திரம் தப்பி, அதை உமக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி வந்தேன் என்றான்.

And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

இவன் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், வேறொருவன் வந்து: வானத்திலிருந்து தேவனுடைய அக்கினி விழுந்து, ஆடுகளையும் வேலையாட்களையும் சுட்டெரித்துப்போட்டது; நான் ஒருவன் மாத்திரம் தப்பி, அதை உமக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி வந்தேன் என்றான்.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

இவன் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், வேறொருவன் வந்து: கல்தேயர் மூன்று பவுஞ்சாய் வந்து, ஒட்டகங்கள்மேல் விழுந்து, அவைகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள், வேலையாட்களையும் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்; நான் ஒருவன் மாத்திரம் தப்பி, அதை உமக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி வந்தேன் என்றான்.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

இவன் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், வேறொருவன் வந்து: உம்முடைய குமாரரும் உம்முடைய குமாரத்திகளும், தங்கள் மூத்த சகோதரன் வீட்டிலே புசித்துத் திராட்சரசம் குடிக்கிறபோது,

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

வனாந்தரவழியாய்ப் பெருங்காற்று வந்து, அந்த வீட்டின் நாலு மூலையிலும் அடிக்க, அது பிள்ளைகளின்மேல் விழுந்ததினால் அவர்கள் இறந்து போனார்கள்; நான் ஒருவன் மாத்திரம் தப்பி, அதை உமக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி வந்தேன் என்றான்.

And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

அப்பொழுது யோபு எழுந்திருந்து, தன் சால்வையைக் கிழித்து, தன் தலையைச் சிரைத்து, தரையிலே விழுந்து பணிந்து:

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

நிர்வாணியாய் என் தாயின் கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து வந்தேன்; நிர்வாணியாய் அவ்விடத்துக்குத் திரும்புவேன்; கர்த்தர் கொடுத்தார், கர்த்தர் எடுத்தார்; கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்துக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் என்றான்.

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

இவையெல்லாவற்றிலும் யோபு பாவஞ்செய்யவுமில்லை, தேவனைப்பற்றிக் குறைசொல்லவுமில்லை.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 2

பின்னொருநாளிலே தேவபுத்திரர் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் வந்து நின்றபோது, சாத்தானும் அவர்கள் நடுவிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் வந்து நின்றான்.

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

கர்த்தர் சாத்தானைப் பார்த்து: நீ எங்கேயிருந்து வருகிறாய் என்றார்; சாத்தான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: பூமியெங்கும் உலாவி, அதில் சுற்றித்திரிந்து வருகிறேன் என்றான்.

And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் சாத்தானை நோக்கி: நீ என் தாசனாகிய யோபின்மேல் கவனம் வைத்தாயோ? உத்தமனும் சன்மார்க்கனும், தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து, பொல்லாப்புக்கு விலகுகிறவனுமான மனுஷனாகிய அவனைப்போல பூமியில் ஒருவனுமில்லை; முகாந்தரமில்லாமல் அவனை நிர்மூலமாக்கும்படி நீ என்னை ஏவினபோதிலும், அவன் இன்னும் தன் உத்தமத்திலே உறுதியாய் நிற்கிறான் என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

சாத்தான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: தோலுக்குப் பதிலாகத் தோலையும், தன் ஜீவனுக்குப் பதிலாகத் தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும், மனுஷன் கொடுத்துவிடுவான்.

And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

ஆனாலும் நீர் உம்முடைய கையை நீட்டி, அவன் எலும்பையும் அவன் மாம்சத்தையும் தொடுவீரானால், அப்பொழுது அவன் உமது முகத்துக்கு எதிரே உம்மைத் தூஷிக்கானோ பாரும் என்றான்.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் சாத்தானை நோக்கி: இதோ, அவன் உன் கையிலிருக்கிறான்; ஆகிலும் அவன் பிராணனைமாத்திரம் தப்பவிடு என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

அப்பொழுது சாத்தான் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, யோபின் உள்ளங்கால் தொடங்கி அவன் உச்சந்தலைமட்டும் கொடிய பருக்களால் அவனை வாதித்தான்.

So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

அவன் ஒரு ஓட்டை எடுத்து, தன்னைச் சுறண்டிக்கொண்டு சாம்பலில் உட்கார்ந்தான்.

And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.

அப்பொழுது அவன் மனைவி அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீர் இன்னும் உம்முடைய உத்தமத்தில் உறுதியாய் நிற்கிறீரோ? தேவனைத் தூஷித்து ஜீவனை விடும் என்றாள்.

Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

அதற்கு அவன்: நீ பயித்தியக்காரி பேசுகிறதுபோலப் பேசுகிறாய்; தேவன் கையிலே நன்மையைப் பெற்ற நாம் தீமையையும் பெறவேண்டாமோ என்றான்; இவைகள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் யோபு தன் உதடுகளினால் பாவஞ்செய்யவில்லை.

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

யோபுடைய மூன்று சிநேகிதராகிய தேமானியனான எலிப்பாசும், சூகியனான பில்தாதும், நாகமாத்தியனான சோப்பாரும், யோபுக்கு நேரிட்ட தீமைகள் யாவையும் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவனுக்காகப் பரிதபிக்கவும், அவனுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லவும், ஒருவரோடொருவர் யோசனை பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, அவரவர் தங்கள் ஸ்தலங்களிலிருந்து வந்தார்கள்.

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

அவர்கள் தூரத்தில் வருகையில் தங்கள் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்த்தபோது, அவனை உருத்தெரியாமல், சத்தமிட்டு அழுது, அவரவர் தங்கள் சால்வையைக் கிழித்து, வானத்தைப் பார்த்து: தங்கள் தலைகள்மேல் புழுதியைத் தூற்றிக்கொண்டு,

And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

வந்து, அவன் துக்கம் மகாகொடிய துக்கம் என்று கண்டு, ஒருவரும் அவனோடு ஒரு வார்த்தையையும் பேசாமல், இரவு பகல் ஏழு நாள், அவனோடுகூடத் தரையிலே உட்கார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.

So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 3

அதற்குப்பின்பு யோபு தன் வாயைத்திறந்து, தான் பிறந்த நாளைச் சபித்து,

After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.

வசனித்துச் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்:

And Job spake, and said,

நான் பிறந்தநாளும் ஒரு ஆண்பிள்ளை உற்பத்தியாயிற்றென்று சொல்லப்பட்ட இராத்திரியும் அழிவதாக.

Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

அந்த நாள் அந்தகாரப்படுவதாக; தேவன் உயரத்திலிருந்து அதை விசாரியாமலும், ஒளி அதின்மேல் பிரகாசியாமலும்,

Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.

அந்தகாரமும் மரணஇருளும் அதைக் கறைப்படுத்தி, மப்பு அதை மூடி, மந்தாரநாளின் பயங்கரங்கள் அதை அருக்களிப்பாக்குவதாக.

Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

அந்த இராத்திரியை அந்தகாரம் பிடிப்பதாக; வருஷத்தின் நாட்களில் அது சந்தோஷப்படுகிற நாளாயிராமலும் மாதங்களின் கணக்கிலே அது வராமலும் போவதாக.

As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.

அந்த இராத்திரி தனிமையாயிருப்பதாக; அதிலே கெம்பீரசத்தம் இல்லாமற்போவதாக.

Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.

நாளைச் சபிக்கிறவர்களும், லிவியாதானை எழும்பப்பண்ணத்தக்கவர்களும், அதைச் சபிப்பார்களாக.

Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.

அதின் அஸ்தமனகாலத்தில் தோன்றிய நட்சத்திரங்கள் இருண்டு, அது எதிர்பார்த்திருந்த வெளிச்சம் உண்டாகாமலும், விடியற்காலத்து வெளுப்பை அது காணாமலும் இருப்பதாக.

Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:

நான் இருந்த கர்ப்பத்தின் வாசலை அது அடைக்காமலும், என் கண்கள் காண்கிற வருத்தத்தை மறைத்துவிடாமலும் இருந்ததே.

Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.

நான் கர்ப்பத்தில்தானே அழியாமலும், கர்ப்பத்திலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறபோதே சாகாமலும் போனதென்ன?

Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

என்னை ஏந்திக்கொள்ள மடியும், நான் பாலுண்ண ஸ்தனங்களும் உண்டாயிருந்ததென்ன?

Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?

அப்படியில்லாதிருந்தால், அசையாமல்கிடந்து அமர்ந்திருந்து,

For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

பாழ்நிலங்களில் தங்களுக்கு மாளிகையைக் கட்டின பூமியின் ராஜாக்களோடும் மந்திரிமார்களோடும்,

With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;

அல்லது, பொன்னை உடையவர்களும், தங்கள் வீடுகளை வெள்ளியினால் நிரப்பினவர்களுமான பிரபுக்களோடுங்கூட நான் இப்பொழுது தூங்கி இளைப்பாறுவேனே.

Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:

அல்லது, வெளிப்படாத முதிராப்பிண்டம்போலவும், வெளிச்சத்தைக் காணாத சிசுக்கள்போலவும் இருப்பேனே.

Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.

துன்மார்க்கருடைய தொந்தரவு அங்கே ஓய்ந்திருக்கிறது; பெலனற்று விடாய்த்துப்போனவர்கள் அங்கே இளைப்பாறுகிறார்கள்.

There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.

கட்டுண்டிருந்தவர்கள் அங்கே ஏகமாக அமைந்திருக்கிறார்கள்; ஒடுக்குகிறவனுடைய சத்தம் அங்கே கேட்கப்படுகிறதில்லை.

There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.

சிறியவனும் பெரியவனும் அங்கே சரியாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; அடிமை தன் எஜமானுக்கு நீங்கலாயிருக்கிறான்.

The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.

மரணத்துக்கு ஆசையாய்க் காத்திருந்து, புதையலைத் தேடுகிறதுபோல அதைத் தேடியும் அடையாமற்போகிறவர்களும்,

Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;

பிரேதக்குழியைக் கண்டுபிடித்ததினால் மிகவும் களிகூர்ந்து,

Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;

அதற்காகச் சந்தோஷப்படுகிற நிர்ப்பாக்கியருமாகிய இவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சமும், மனச்சஞ்சலமுள்ள இவர்களுக்கு ஜீவனும் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறதினால் பலன் என்ன?

Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?

தன் வழியைக் காணக்கூடாதபடிக்கு, தேவனால் வளைந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவனுக்கு வெளிச்சத்தினால் பலன் என்ன?

Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?

என் போஜனத்துக்கு முன்னே எனக்குப் பெருமூச்சு உண்டாகிறது; என் கதறுதல் வெள்ளம்போல் புரண்டுபோகிறது.

For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.

நான் பயந்த காரியம் எனக்கு நேரிட்டது; நான் அஞ்சினது எனக்கு வந்தது.

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

எனக்குச் சுகமுமில்லை, இளைப்பாறுதலுமில்லை, அமைதலுமில்லை; எனக்குத் தத்தளிப்பே நேரிட்டது.

I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 4

அப்பொழுது தேமானியனாகிய எலிப்பாஸ் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

நாங்கள் உம்முடனே பேசத்துணிந்தால், ஆயாசப்படுவீரோ? ஆனாலும் பேசாமல் அடக்கிக்கொள்ளத்தக்கவன் யார்?

If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?

இதோ, நீர் அநேகருக்குப் புத்திசொல்லி, இளைத்த கைகளைத் திடப்படுத்தினீர்.

Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

விழுகிறவனை உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளால் நிற்கப்பண்ணி, தள்ளாடுகிற முழங்கால்களைப் பலப்படுத்தினீர்.

Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.

இப்பொழுதோ துன்பம் உமக்கு நேரிட்டபடியினால் ஆயாசப்படுகிறீர்; அது உம்மைத் தொட்டதினால் கலங்குகிறீர்.

But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

உம்முடைய தேவபக்தி உம்முடைய உறுதியாயும், உம்முடைய வழிகளின் உத்தமம் உம்முடைய நம்பிக்கையாயும் இருக்கவேண்டியதல்லவோ?

Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

குற்றமில்லாமல் அழிந்தவன் உண்டோ? சன்மார்க்கர் அதம்பண்ணப்பட்டது எப்போ? இதை நினைத்துப்பாரும்.

Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

நான் கண்டிருக்கிறபடி, அநியாயத்தை உழுது, தீவினையை விதைத்தவர்கள், அதையே அறுக்கிறார்கள்.

Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

தேவனுடைய சுவாசத்தினாலே அவர்கள் அழிந்து, அவருடைய நாசியின் காற்றினாலே நிர்மூலமாகிறார்கள்.

By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

சிங்கத்தின் கெர்ச்சிப்பும், துஷ்டசிங்கத்தின் முழக்கமும் அடங்கும்; பாலசிங்கங்களின் பற்களும் தகர்ந்துபோகும்.

The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

கிழச்சிங்கம் இரையில்லாமையால் மாண்டுபோகும், பாலசிங்கங்கள் சிதறுண்டுபோகும்.

The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

இப்போதும் ஒரு வார்த்தை என்னிடத்தில் இரகசியமாய் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது, அதினுடைய மெல்லிய ஓசை என் செவியில் விழுந்தது.

Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.

மனுஷர்மேல் அயர்ந்த நித்திரை இறங்குகையில், இராத்தரிசனங்களில் பலவித தோற்றங்கள் உண்டாகும்போது,

In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,

திகிலும் நடுக்கமும் என்னைப் பிடித்தது, என் எலும்புகளெல்லாம் நடுங்கினது.

Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.

அப்பொழுது ஒரு ஆவி என் முகத்துக்கு முன்பாகக் கடந்தது, என் உடலின் மயிர் சிலிர்த்தது.

Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:

அது ஒரு உருப்போல என் கண்களுக்குமுன் நின்றது, ஆனாலும் அதின் ரூபம் இன்னதென்று விளங்கவில்லை; அமைதலுண்டாயிற்று, அப்பொழுது நான் கேட்ட சத்தமாவது:

It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

மனுஷன் தேவனைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீதிமானாயிருப்பானோ? மனுபுத்திரன் தன்னை உண்டாக்கினவரைப்பார்க்கிலும் சுத்தமாயிருப்பானோ?

Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

கேளும், அவர் தம்முடைய பணிவிடைக்காரரிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பதில்லை; தம்முடைய தூதரின்மேலும் புத்தியீனத்தைச் சுமத்துகிறாரே,

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

புழுதியில் அஸ்திபாரம் போட்டு, மண் வீடுகளில் வாசம்பண்ணி, பொட்டுப்பூச்சியால் அரிக்கப்படுகிறவர்கள்மேல் அவர் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பது எப்படி?

How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

காலைமுதல் மாலைவரைக்கும் மடிந்து, கவனிப்பார் ஒருவருமில்லாமல், நித்திய அழிவடைகிறார்கள்.

They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

அவர்களிலிருக்கிற அவர்களுடைய மேன்மை போய்விடுமல்லவோ? ஞானமடையாமல் சாகிறார்களே என்று சொன்னான்.

Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.

மத்தேயு அத்தியாயம் 28

ஓய்வுநாள் முடிந்து, வாரத்தின் முதலாம் நாள் விடிந்துவருகையில், மகதலேனா மரியாளும் மற்ற மரியாளும் கல்லறையைப் பார்க்கவந்தார்கள்.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

அப்பொழுது, பூமி மிகவும் அதிரும்படி, கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் வானத்திலிருந்திறங்கிவந்து, வாசலிலிருந்த கல்லைப் புரட்டித் தள்ளி, அதின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்தான்.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

அவனுடைய ரூபம் மின்னல்போலவும், அவனுடைய வஸ்திரம் உறைந்தமழையைப்போல வெண்மையாகவும் இருந்தது.

His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

காவலாளர் அவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் திடுக்கிட்டுச் செத்தவர்கள்போலானார்கள்.

And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

தூதன் அந்த ஸ்திரீகளை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட இயேசுவைத் தேடுகிறீர்கள் என்று அறிவேன்.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

அவர் இங்கே இல்லை; தாம் சொன்னபடியே உயிர்த்தெழுந்தார்; கர்த்தரை வைத்த இடத்தை வந்து பாருங்கள்;

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

சீக்கிரமாய்ப் போய், அவர் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்தார் என்று அவருடைய சீஷர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள். அவர் உங்களுக்குமுன்னே கலிலேயாவுக்குப் போகிறார்; அங்கே அவரைக் காண்பீர்கள்; இதோ, உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன் என்றான்.

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

அவர்கள் பயத்தோடும் மகா சந்தோஷத்தோடும் கல்லறையை விட்டுச் சீக்கிரமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டு, அவருடைய சீஷர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்க ஓடினார்கள்.

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

அவர்கள் அவருடைய சீஷர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்போகிறபோது, இயேசு தாமே அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டு: வாழ்க என்றார். அவர்கள் கிட்டவந்து, அவர் பாதங்களைத் தழுவி, அவரை பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; நீங்கள் போய், என் சகோதரர் கலிலேயாவுக்குப்போகும்படி அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்; அங்கே அவர்கள் என்னைக் காண்பார்கள் என்றார்.

Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

அவர்கள் போகையில், காவல்சேவகரில் சிலர் நகரத்துக்குள்ளே வந்து. நடந்த யாவற்றையும் பிரதான ஆசாரியருக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

இவர்கள் மூப்பரோடே கூடிவந்து, ஆலோசனைப்பண்ணி, சேவகருக்கு வேண்டிய பணத்தைக் கொடுத்து:

And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

நாங்கள் நித்திரைபண்ணுகையில், அவனுடைய சீஷர்கள் இராத்திரியிலே வந்து, அவனைக் களவாய்க் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார்கள் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.

Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

இது தேசாதிபதிக்குக் கேள்வியானால், நாங்கள் அவரைச் சம்மதப்படுத்தி, உங்களைத் தப்புவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

அவர்கள் பணத்தை வாங்கிக்கொண்டு, தங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கப்பட்டபடியே செய்தார்கள். இந்தப் பேச்சு யூதருக்குள்ளே இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் பிரசித்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

பதினொரு சீஷர்களும், கலிலேயாவிலே இயேசு தங்களுக்குக் குறித்திருந்த மலைக்குப் போனார்கள்.

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

அங்கே அவர்கள் அவரைக் கண்டு, பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்; சிலரோ சந்தேகப்பட்டார்கள்.

And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு சமீபத்தில் வந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும் சகல அதிகாரமும் எனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

ஆகையால், நீங்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சகல ஜாதிகளையும் சீஷராக்கி, பிதா குமாரன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் நாமத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்து,

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட யாவையும் அவர்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணுங்கள். இதோ, உலகத்தின் முடிவுபரியந்தம் சகல நாட்களிலும் நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன் என்றார். ஆமென்.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
