ஆதியாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 43

தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் கொடிதாயிருந்தது.

And the famine was sore in the land.

எகிப்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் கொண்டுவந்த தானியம் செலவழிந்தபோது, அவர்கள் தகப்பன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் திரும்பப் போய், நமக்குக் கொஞ்சம் தானியம் வாங்கிக்கொண்டு வாருங்கள் என்றான்.

And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.

அதற்கு யூதா: உங்கள் சகோதரன் உங்களோடேகூட வராவிட்டால், நீங்கள் என் முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று அந்த மனிதன் எங்களுக்குச் சத்தியமாய்ச் சொன்னான்.

And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

எங்கள் சகோதரனை நீர் எங்களோடேகூட அனுப்பினால், நாங்கள் போய், உமக்குத் தானியம் வாங்கிக்கொண்டு வருவோம்.

If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food:

அனுப்பாவிட்டால். நாங்கள் போகமாட்டோம்; உங்கள் சகோதரன் உங்களோடேகூட வராவிட்டால், நீங்கள் என் முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று அந்த மனிதன் எங்களோடே சொல்லியிருக்கிறான் என்றான்.

But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

அதற்கு இஸ்ரவேல்: உங்களுக்கு இன்னும் ஒரு சகோதரன் உண்டென்று நீங்கள் அந்த மனிதனுக்குச் சொல்லி, ஏன் எனக்கு இந்தத் துன்பத்தை வருவித்தீர்கள் என்றான்.

And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அந்த மனிதன், உங்கள் தகப்பன் இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறாரா? உங்களுக்கு இன்னும் ஒரு சகோதரன் உண்டா? என்று எங்களையும் எங்கள் வம்சத்தையும் குறித்து விபரமாய் விசாரித்தான்; அந்தக் கேள்விகளுக்குத் தக்கதாக உள்ளபடி அவனுக்குச் சொன்னோம்; உங்கள் சகோதரனை உங்களோடேகூட இங்கே கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்று அவன் சொல்லுவான் என்பதை நாங்கள் அறிந்திருந்தோமா என்றார்கள்.

And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?

பின்னும், யூதா தன் தகப்பனாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை நோக்கி: நீரும் நாங்களும் எங்கள் குழந்தைகளும் சாகாமல் உயிரோடிருக்கும்படி, நாங்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போகிறோம், பிள்ளையாண்டானை என்னோடே அனுப்பும்.

And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones.

அவனுக்காக நான் உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணுவேன்; அவனை என்னிடத்திலே கேளும், நான் அவனை உம்மிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, உமக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தாமற்போனால், எந்நாளும் அந்தக் குற்றம் என்மேல் இருப்பதாக.

I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:

நாங்கள் தாமதியாதிருந்தோமானால், இதற்குள்ளே இரண்டாந்தரம் போய்த் திரும்பி வந்திருப்போமே என்றான்.

For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.

அதற்கு அவர்கள் தகப்பனாகிய இஸ்ரவேல்: அப்படியானால், ஒன்று செய்யுங்கள்; இந்த தேசத்தின் உச்சிதமான வஸ்துக்களில் கொஞ்சம் பிசின் தைலமும், கொஞ்சம் தேனும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களும், வெள்ளைப்போளமும், தெரபிந்து கொட்டைகளும், வாதுமைக்கொட்டைகளும் உங்கள் சாக்குகளில் போட்டு, அந்த மனிதனுக்குக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொண்டுபோய்க் கொடுங்கள்.

And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

பணத்தை இரட்டிப்பாய் உங்கள் கைகளில் கொண்டுபோங்கள், சாக்குகளின் வாயிலே திரும்பக் கொண்டுவந்த பணத்தையும் கொண்டுபோங்கள்; அது கைப்பிசகாய் வந்திருக்கும்.

And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight:

உங்கள் சகோதரனையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அந்த மனிதனிடத்துக்கு மறுபடியும் போங்கள்.

Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:

அந்த மனிதன், அங்கிருக்கிற உங்கள் மற்ற சகோதரனையும் பென்யமீனையும் உங்களுடனே அனுப்பிவிடும்படிக்கு, சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள தேவன் அவன் சமுகத்தில் உங்களுக்கு இரக்கங்கிடைக்கப்பண்ணுவாராக; நானோ பிள்ளையற்றுப் போனவனைப்போல் இருப்பேன் என்றான்.

And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் காணிக்கையையும் தங்கள் கைகளில் இரட்டிப்பான பணத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, பென்யமீனையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, பிரயாணப்பட்டு, எகிப்துக்குப்போய், யோசேப்பின் சமுகத்தில் வந்து நின்றார்கள்.

And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.

பென்யமீன் அவர்களோடேகூட வந்திருக்கிறதை யோசேப்பு கண்டு, தன் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ இந்த மனிதரை வீட்டுக்கு அழைத்துப்போய், சாப்பாட்டுக்கு வேண்டியவைகளை அடித்து, ஆயத்தம்பண்ணு, மத்தியானத்திலே இந்த மனிதர் என்னோடே சாப்பிடுவார்கள் என்றான்.

And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon.

அவன் தனக்கு யோசேப்பு சொன்னபடியே செய்து, அந்த மனிதரை யோசேப்பின் வீட்டுக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.

And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph's house.

தாங்கள் யோசேப்பின் வீட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்படுகிறதை அவர்கள் கண்டு பயந்து, முன்னே நம்முடைய சாக்குகளில் இருந்த பணத்தினிமித்தம் நம்மேல் குற்றம் சுமத்தி, நம்மைப் பிடித்துச் சிறைகளாக்கி, நம்முடைய கழுதைகளை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்படி நம்மைக்கொண்டுபோகிறார்கள் என்று சொல்லி,

And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph's house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.

யோசேப்பின் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனண்டையிலே சேர்ந்து, வீட்டு வாசற்படியிலே அவனோடே பேசி:

And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house,

ஆண்டவனே, நாங்கள் தானியம் கொள்ளும்படி முன்னே வந்துபோனோமே;

And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:

நாங்கள் தங்கும் இடத்தில் போய் எங்கள் சாக்குகளைத் திறந்தபோது, நாங்கள் நிறுத்துக்கொடுத்த நிறையின்படியே அவனவன் பணம் அவனவன் சாக்கின் வாயிலே இருக்கக் கண்டோம்; அதை நாங்கள் திரும்பவும் எங்கள் கையிலே கொண்டுவந்திருக்கிறோம்.

And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

மேலும், தானியம் கொள்ளும்படி வேறே பணமும் எங்கள் கையில் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறோம்; நாங்கள் முன் கொடுத்த பணத்தை எங்கள் சாக்குகளில் போட்டது இன்னார் என்று அறியோம் என்றார்கள்.

And other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks.

அதற்கு அவன்: உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம்; பயப்படவேண்டாம்; உங்கள் தேவனும் உங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறவர் உங்கள் சாக்குகளில் அதை உங்களுக்குப் புதையலாகக் கட்டளையிட்டார்; நீங்கள் கொடுத்த பணம் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து சேர்ந்தது என்று சொல்லி, சிமியோனை வெளியே அழைத்து வந்து, அவர்களிடத்தில் விட்டான்.

And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

மேலும், அந்த மனிதன் அவர்களை யோசேப்பின் வீட்டுக்குள்ளே கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்கள் தங்கள் கால்களைக் கழுவும்படி தண்ணீர் கொடுத்து, அவர்களுடைய கழுதைகளுக்குத் தீவனம் போட்டான்.

And the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses provender.

தாங்கள் அங்கே போஜனம் செய்யப்போகிறதை அவர்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டபடியால், மத்தியானத்தில் யோசேப்பு வருமளவும் காணிக்கையை ஆயத்தமாய் வைத்துக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.

And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: அவர்கள் சுகசெய்தியை விசாரித்து, நீங்கள் சொன்ன முதிர்வயதான உங்கள் தகப்பன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறாரா? அவர் இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறாரா? என்று அவர்களிடத்தில் விசாரித்தான்.

And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எங்கள் தகப்பனாராகிய உமது அடியான் சுகமாயிருக்கிறார், இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லி, குனிந்து வணங்கினார்கள்.

And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.

அவன் தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, தன் தாய் பெற்ற குமாரனாகிய தன் சகோதரன் பென்யமீனைக் கண்டு, நீங்கள் எனக்குச் சொன்ன உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் இவன்தானா என்று கேட்டு, மகனே, தேவன் உனக்குக் கிருபைசெய்யக்கடவர் என்றான்.

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.

யோசேப்பின் உள்ளம் தன் சகோதரனுக்காகப் பொங்கினபடியால், அவன் அழுகிறதற்கு இடம் தேடி, துரிதமாய் அறைக்குள்ளே போய், அங்கே அழுதான்.

And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

பின்பு, அவன் தன் முகத்தைக் கழுவி வெளியே வந்து, தன்னை அடக்கிக்கொண்டு, போஜனம் வையுங்கள் என்றான்.

And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.

எகிப்தியர் எபிரெயரோடே சாப்பிடமாட்டார்கள்; அப்படிச் செய்வது எகிப்தியருக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்; ஆகையால், அவனுக்குத் தனிப்படவும், அவர்களுக்குத் தனிப்படவும், அவனோடே சாப்பிடுகிற எகிப்தியருக்குத் தனிப்படவும் வைத்தார்கள்.

And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

அவனுக்கு முன்பாக, மூத்தவன் முதல் இளையவன்வரைக்கும் அவனவன் வயதின்படியே அவர்களை உட்காரவைத்தார்கள்; அதற்காக அவர்கள், ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another.

அவன் தனக்குமுன் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த போஜனத்தில் அவர்களுக்குப் பங்கிட்டு அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் எல்லாருடைய பங்குகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் பென்யமீனுடைய பங்கு ஐந்துமடங்கு அதிகமாயிருந்தது; அவர்கள் பானம்பண்ணி, அவனுடனே சந்தோஷமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.

And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

இளையவனுடைய சாக்கின் வாயிலே வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரமாகிய என் பானபாத்திரத்தையும் தானியத்துக்கு அவன் கொடுத்த பணத்தையும் போடு என்று கட்டளையிட்டான்; யோசேப்பு சொன்னபடியே அவன் செய்தான்.

And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.

அதிகாலையிலே அந்த மனிதர்கள் தங்கள் கழுதைகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுபோகும்படி அனுப்பிவிடப்பட்டார்கள்.

As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

அவர்கள் பட்டணத்தை விட்டுப்புறப்பட்டு, வெகுதூரம் போவதற்கு முன்னே, யோசேப்பு தன் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ புறப்பட்டுப்போய், அந்த மனிதரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, அவர்களைப் பிடித்து: நீங்கள் நன்மைக்குத் தீமை செய்தது என்ன?

And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?

அது என் எஜமான் பானம்பண்ணுகிற பாத்திரம் அல்லவா? அது போனவகை ஞானதிருஷ்டியால் அவருக்குத் தெரியாதா? நீங்கள் செய்தது தகாதகாரியம் என்று அவர்களோடே சொல் என்றான்.

Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.

அவன் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, தன்னிடத்தில் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தைகளை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னான்.

And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் இப்படிப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லுகிறது என்ன? இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியத்துக்கும் உம்முடைய அடியாராகிய எங்களுக்கும் வெகுதூரம்.

And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing:

எங்கள் சாக்குகளின் வாயிலே நாங்கள் கண்ட பணத்தைக் கானான்தேசத்திலிருந்து திரும்ப உம்மிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தோமே; நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எஜமானின் வீட்டிலிருந்து வெள்ளியையாகிலும், பொன்னையாகிலும் திருடிக்கொண்டு போவோமா?

Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord's house silver or gold?

உம்முடைய அடியாருக்குள்ளே அது எவனிடத்தில் காணப்படுமோ அவன் கொலையுண்ணக்கடவன்; நாங்களும் எங்கள் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமைகளாவோம் என்றார்கள்.

With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen.

அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் சொன்னபடியே ஆகட்டும்; எவனிடத்தில் அது காணப்படுமோ, அவன் எனக்கு அடிமையாவான்; நீங்கள் குற்றமற்றிருப்பீர்கள் என்றான்.

And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் துரிதமாய் அவனவன் தன்தன் சாக்கைத் தரையிலே இறக்கி, தங்கள் சாக்குகளைத் திறந்து வைத்தார்கள்.

Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack.

மூத்தவன் சாக்குமுதல் இளையவன் சாக்குமட்டும் அவன் சோதிக்கும்போது, அந்தப் பாத்திரம் பென்யமீனுடைய சாக்கிலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது.

And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனவன் கழுதையின்மேல் பொதியை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, பட்டணத்திற்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்.

Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city.

யூதாவும் அவன் சகோதரரும் யோசேப்பின் வீட்டுக்குப் போனார்கள். யோசேப்பு அதுவரையும் அங்கே இருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாகத் தரையிலே விழுந்தார்கள்.

And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground.

யோசேப்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் என்ன காரியம் செய்தீர்கள்? என்னைப் போலொத்த மனிதனுக்கு ஞானதிருஷ்டியினால் காரியம் தெரியவரும் என்று அறியாமற்போனீர்களா என்றான்.

And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

அதற்கு யூதா: என் ஆண்டவனாகிய உம்மிடத்தில் நாங்கள் என்ன சொல்லுவோம்? என்னத்தைப் பேசுவோம்? எதினாலே எங்கள் நீதியை விளங்கப்பண்ணுவோம்? உம்முடைய அடியாரின் அக்கிரமத்தை தேவன் விளங்கப்பண்ணினார்; பாத்திரத்தை வைத்திருக்கிறவனும் நாங்களும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமைகள் என்றான்.

And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.

அதற்கு அவன்: அப்படிப்பட்ட செய்கை எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; எவன் வசத்தில் பாத்திரம் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டதோ, அவனே எனக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான்; நீங்களோ சமாதானத்தோடே உங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்துக்குப் போங்கள் என்றான்.

And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.

அப்பொழுது யூதா அவனண்டையிலே சேர்ந்து: ஆ, என் ஆண்டவனே, உமது அடியேன் உம்முடைய செவிகள் கேட்க ஒரு வார்த்தை சொல்லுகிறேன் கேட்பீராக; அடியேன்மேல் உமது கோபம் மூளாதிருப்பதாக; நீர் பார்வோனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறீர்.

Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh.

உங்களுக்குத் தகப்பனாவது சகோதரனாவது உண்டா என்று என் ஆண்டவன் உம்முடைய அடியாரிடத்தில் கேட்டீர்.

My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother?

அதற்கு நாங்கள்: எங்களுக்கு முதிர்வயதுள்ள தகப்பனாரும், அவருக்கு முதிர்வயதிலே பிறந்த ஒரு இளைஞனும் உண்டு என்றும், அவனுடைய தமையன் இறந்துபோனான் என்றும், அவன் ஒருவன்மாத்திரமே அவனைப்பெற்ற தாயாருக்கு இருப்பதினால் தகப்பனார் அவன்மேல் பட்சமாயிருக்கிறார் என்றும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்குச் சொன்னோம்.

And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

அப்பொழுது நீர்: அவனை என்னிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்; என் கண்களினால் அவனைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும் என்று உமது அடியாருக்குச் சொன்னீர்.

And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him.

நாங்கள் ஆண்டவனை நோக்கி: அந்த இளைஞன் தன் தகப்பனைவிட்டுப் பிரியக்கூடாது, பிரிந்தால் அவர் இறந்துபோவார் என்று சொன்னோம்.

And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.

அதற்கு நீர்: உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரனைக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், நீங்கள் இனி என் முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று உமது அடியாருக்குச் சொன்னீர்.

And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.

நாங்கள் உமது அடியானாகிய என் தகப்பனாரிடத்துக்குப் போனபோது, என் ஆண்டவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளை அவருக்கு அறிவித்தோம்.

And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.

எங்கள் தகப்பனார் எங்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் திரும்பப்போய், நமக்குக் கொஞ்சம் தானியம் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொன்னார்.

And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.

அதற்கு: நாங்கள் போகக்கூடாது; எங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் எங்களோடே வந்தால் போவோம்; எங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் எங்களோடே வராவிட்டால், நாங்கள் அந்தப் புருஷனுடைய முகத்தைக்காணக்கூடாது என்றோம்.

And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us.

அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய அடியானாகிய என் தகப்பனார்: என் மனைவி எனக்கு இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றாள்;

And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons:

அவர்களில் ஒருவன் என்னிடத்திலிருந்து போய்விட்டான், அவன் பீறுண்டுபோயிருப்பான் என்றிருந்தேன், இதுவரைக்கும் அவனைக் காணாதிருக்கிறேன், இதெல்லாம் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:

நீங்கள் இவனையும் என்னை விட்டுப்பிரித்து அழைத்துப்போகுமிடத்தில் இவனுக்கு மோசம் நேரிட்டால், என் நரைமயிரை வியாகுலத்தோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவீர்கள் என்றார்.

And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

ஆகையால் இளையவனை விட்டு, நான் என் தகப்பனாகிய உமது அடியானிடத்துக்குப் போனால், அவருடைய ஜீவன் இவனுடைய ஜீவனோடே ஒன்றாய் இணைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியினால்,

Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;

அவர் இளையவன் வரவில்லை என்று அறிந்தமாத்திரத்தில் இறந்துபோவார்; இப்படி உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் உமது அடியானாகிய எங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய நரைமயிரை வியாகுலத்துடனே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவோம்.

It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.

இந்த இளையவனுக்காக உமது அடியானாகிய நான் என் தகப்பனுக்கு உத்தரவாதி; அன்றியும், நான் இவனை உம்மிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், நான் எந்நாளும் உமக்கு முன்பாகக் குற்றவாளியாயிருப்பேன் என்று அவருக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறேன்.

For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.

இப்படியிருக்க, இளையவன் தன் சகோதரரோடேகூடப் போகவிடும்படி மன்றாடுகிறேன்; உம்முடைய அடியானாகிய நான் இளையவனுக்குப் பதிலாக இங்கே என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமையாயிருக்கிறேன்.

Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.

இளையவனை விட்டு, எப்படி என் தகப்பனிடத்துக்குப் போவேன்? போனால் என் தகப்பனுக்கு நேரிடும் தீங்கை நான் எப்படிக் காண்பேன் என்றான்.

For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.

இயேசு தேவாலயத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போகையில், அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் தேவாலயத்தின் கட்டடங்களை அவருக்குக் காண்பிக்க அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்.

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: இவைகளையெல்லாம் பார்க்கிறீர்களே, இவ்விடத்தில் ஒரு கல்லின்மேல் ஒரு கல்லிராதபடிக்கு எல்லாம் இடிக்கப்பட்டுப்போகும் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

பின்பு, அவர் ஒலிவமலையின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கையில், சீஷர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் தனித்துவந்து: இவைகள் எப்பொழுது சம்பவிக்கும்? உம்முடைய வருகைக்கும், உலகத்தின் முடிவுக்கும் அடையாளம் என்ன? எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ஒருவனும் உங்களை வஞ்சியாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்;

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

ஏனெனில், அநேகர் வந்து, என் நாமத்தைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டு: நானே கிறிஸ்து என்று சொல்லி, அநேகரை வஞ்சிப்பார்கள்.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

யுத்தங்களையும் யுத்தங்களின் செய்திகளையும் கேள்விப்படுவீர்கள்; கலங்காதபடி எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; இவைகளெல்லாம் சம்பவிக்கவேண்டியதே; ஆனாலும், முடிவு உடனே வராது.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

ஜனத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் ஜனமும், ராஜ்யத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் ராஜ்யமும் எழும்பும்; பஞ்சங்களும், கொள்ளைநோய்களும், பூமியதிர்ச்சிகளும் பல இடங்களில் உண்டாகும்.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

இவைகளெல்லாம் வேதனைகளுக்கு ஆரம்பம்.

All these are the beginning of sorrows.

அப்பொழுது, உங்களை உபத்திரவங்களுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, உங்களைக் கொலைசெய்வார்கள்: என் நாமத்தினிமித்தம் நீங்கள் சகல ஜனங்களாலும் பகைக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

அப்பொழுது, அநேகர் இடறலடைந்து, ஒருவரையொருவர் காட்டிக்கொடுத்து, ஒருவரையொருவர் பகைப்பார்கள்.

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

அநேகக் கள்ளத்தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் எழும்பி, அநேகரை வஞ்சிப்பார்கள்.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

அக்கிரமம் மிகுதியாவதினால் அநேகருடைய அன்பு தணிந்துபோகும்.

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

முடிவுபரியந்தம் நிலைநிற்பவனே இரட்சிக்கப்படுவான்.

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

ராஜ்யத்தினுடைய இந்தச் சுவிசேஷம் பூலோகமெங்குமுள்ள சகல ஜாதிகளுக்கும் சாட்சியாகப் பிரசங்கிக்கப்படும், அப்போது முடிவு வரும்.

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

மேலும், பாழாக்குகிற அருவருப்பைக்குறித்துத் தானியேல் தீர்க்கதரிசி சொல்லியிருக்கிறானே, வாசிக்கிறவன் சிந்திக்கக்கடவன். நீங்கள் அதைப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் நிற்கக் காணும்போது,

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

யூதேயாவில் இருக்கிறவர்கள் மலைகளுக்கு ஓடிப்போகக்கடவர்கள்.

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

வீட்டின்மேல் இருக்கிறவன் தன் வீட்டிலே எதையாகிலும் எடுப்பதற்கு இறங்காதிருக்கக்கடவன்.

Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

வயலில் இருக்கிறவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களை எடுப்பதற்குத் திரும்பாதிருக்கக்கடவன்.

Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

அந்நாட்களிலே கர்ப்பவதிகளுக்கும் பால்கொடுக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் ஐயோ.

And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

நீங்கள் ஓடிப்போவது மாரிகாலத்திலாவது, ஓய்வுநாளிலாவது, சம்பவியாதபடிக்கு வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

ஏனெனில், உலகமுண்டானதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் சம்பவித்திராததும், இனிமேலும் சம்பவியாததுமான மிகுந்த உபத்திரவம் அப்பொழுது உண்டாயிருக்கும்.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

அந்நாட்கள் குறைக்கப்படாதிருந்தால், ஒருவனாகிலும் தப்பிப்போவதில்லை; தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களினிமித்தமோ அந்த நாட்கள் குறைக்கப்படும்.

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

அப்பொழுது, இதோ, கிறிஸ்து இங்கே இருக்கிறார், அதோ, இருக்கிறார் என்று எவனாகிலும் சொன்னால் நம்பாதேயுங்கள்.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

இதோ, முன்னதாக உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்திருக்கிறேன்.

Behold, I have told you before.

ஆகையால்: அதோ, வனாந்தரத்தில் இருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்வார்களானால், புறப்படாதிருங்கள்; இதோ, அறைவீட்டிற்குள் இருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்வார்களானால் நம்பாதிருங்கள்.

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

மின்னல் கிழக்கிலிருந்து தோன்றி மேற்குவரைக்கும் பிரகாசிக்கிறதுபோல, மனுஷகுமாரனுடைய வருகையும் இருக்கும்.

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

பிணம் எங்கேயோ அங்கே கழுகுகள் வந்து கூடும்.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

அந்நாட்களின் உபத்திரவம் முடிந்தவுடனே, சூரியன் அந்தகாரப்படும், சந்திரன் ஒளியைக் கொடாதிருக்கும், நட்சத்திரங்கள் வானத்திலிருந்து விழும், வானத்தின் சத்துவங்கள் அசைக்கப்படும்.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

அப்பொழுது மனுஷகுமாரனுடைய அடையாளம் வானத்தில் காணப்படும். அப்பொழுது, மனுஷகுமாரன் வல்லமையோடும் மிகுந்த மகிமையோடும் வானத்தின் மேகங்கள்மேல் வருகிறதை பூமியிலுள்ள சகல கோத்திரத்தாரும் கண்டு புலம்புவார்கள்.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

வலுவாய்த் தொனிக்கும் எக்காளசத்தத்தோடே அவர் தமது தூதர்களை அனுப்புவார்; அவர்கள் அவரால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களை வானத்தின் ஒரு முனை முதற்கொண்டு மறுமுனைமட்டும் நாலு திசைகளிலுமிருந்து கூட்டிச் சேர்ப்பார்கள்.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

அத்திமரத்தினால் ஒரு உவமையைக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; அதிலே இளங்கிளை தோன்றி, துளிர்விடும்போது, வசந்தகாலம் சமீபமாயிற்று என்று அறிவீர்கள்.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

அப்படியே இவைகளையெல்லாம் நீங்கள் காணும்போது, அவர் சமீபமாய் வாசலருகே வந்திருக்கிறார் என்று அறியுங்கள்.

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

இவைகளெல்லாம் சம்பவிக்குமுன்னே இந்தச் சந்ததி ஒழிந்துபோகாதென்று, மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

வானமும் பூமியும் ஒழிந்துபோம், என் வார்த்தைகளோ ஒழிந்துபோவதில்லை.

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

அந்த நாளையும் அந்த நாழிகையையும் என் பிதா ஒருவர் தவிர மற்றொருவனும் அறியான்; பரலோகத்திலுள்ள தூதர்களும் அறியார்கள்.

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

ஜலப்பிரளயம் வந்து அனைவரையும் வாரிக்கொண்டுபோகுமட்டும் உணராதிருந்தார்கள்; அப்படியே மனுஷகுமாரன் வருங்காலத்திலும் நடக்கும்.

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

அப்பொழுது, இரண்டுபேர் வயலில் இருப்பார்கள்; ஒருவன் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படுவான், ஒருவன் கைவிடப்படுவான்.

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

இரண்டு ஸ்திரீகள் எந்திரம் அரைத்துக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்; ஒருத்தி ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படுவாள், ஒருத்தி கைவிடப்படுவாள்.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

உங்கள் ஆண்டவர் இன்ன நாழிகையிலே வருவாரென்று நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிறபடியினால் விழித்திருங்கள்.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

திருடன் இன்ன ஜாமத்தில் வருவானென்று வீட்டெஜமான் அறிந்திருந்தால், அவன் விழித்திருந்து, தன் வீட்டைக் கன்னமிடவொட்டானென்று அறிவீர்கள்.

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

நீங்கள் நினையாத நாழிகையிலே மனுஷகுமாரன் வருவார்; ஆதலால், நீங்களும் ஆயத்தமாயிருங்கள்.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

ஏற்றவேளையிலே தன் வேலைக்காரருக்குப் போஜனங்கொடுத்து அவர்களை விசாரிக்கும்படி எஜமான் வைத்த உண்மையும் விவேகமுமுள்ள ஊழியக்காரன் யாவன்?

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

எஜமான் வரும்போது அப்படிச் செய்கிறவனாகக் காணப்படுகிற ஊழியக்காரனே பாக்கியவான்.

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

தன் ஆஸ்திகள் எல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் அவனை விசாரணைக்காரனாக வைப்பானென்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

அந்த ஊழியக்காரனோ பொல்லாதவனாயிருந்து: என் ஆண்டவன் வர நாள் செல்லும் என்று தன் உள்ளத்திலே சொல்லிக்கொண்டு,

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

தன் உடன்வேலைக்காரரை அடிக்கத்தொடங்கி, வெறியரோடே புசிக்கவும் குடிக்கவும் தலைப்பட்டால்,

And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

அந்த ஊழியக்காரன் நினையாத நாளிலும், அறியாத நாழிகையிலும், அவனுடைய எஜமான் வந்து,

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

அவனைக் கடினமாய்த் தண்டித்து, மாயக்காரரோடே அவனுக்குப் பங்கை நியமிப்பான்; அங்கே அழுகையும் பற்கடிப்பும் உண்டாயிருக்கும்.

And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
