எஸ்றா அத்தியாயம் 6

அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய தரியு இட்ட கட்டளையின்படியே பாபிலோன் கஜானாவிலுள்ள தஸ்திர அறையைச் சோதித்தார்கள்.

Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

மேதிய சீமையிலிருக்கிற அக்மேதா பட்டணத்தின் அரமனையிலே ஒரு சுருள் அகப்பட்டது; அதிலே எழுதியிருந்த விபரமாவது:

And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:

ராஜாவாகிய கோரேசின் முதலாம் வருஷத்தில், கோரேஸ் ராஜா எருசலேமிலிருந்த தேவாலயத்தைக் குறித்துப் பிறப்பித்த உத்தரவு என்னவென்றால்: தேவாலயமானது பலி செலுத்தப்பட்டுவந்த ஸ்தானத்திலே கட்டப்படக்கடவது; அதின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் பலமாயிருப்பதாக; அது அறுபது முழ உயரமும், அறுபது முழ அகலமுமாயிருக்கவேண்டும்.

In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;

அது மூன்று வரிசை பெருங்கற்களாலும், ஒரு மச்சுவரிசை புது உத்திரங்களாலும் கட்டப்படக்கடவது; அதற்குச் செல்லும் செலவு ராஜாவின் அரமனையிலிருந்து கொடுக்கப்படுவதாக.

With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:

அன்றியும் நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் எருசலேமிலிருந்த ஆலயத்திலிருந்து எடுத்து, பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டு வந்த தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்கடுத்த பொன் வெள்ளிப் பணிமுட்டுகள் எருசலேமிலுள்ள தேவாலயமாகிய தங்கள் ஸ்தானத்திற்குப் போய்ச்சேரும்படிக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுக்கப்படக்கடவது; அவைகளை தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோகக்கடவர்கள் என்று எழுதியிருந்தது.

And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.

அப்பொழுது தரியு ராஜா எழுதியனுப்பினதாவது: இப்பொழுதும், நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற தேசாதிபதியாகிய தத்னாயும் சேத்தார்பொஸ்னாயுமாகிய நீங்களும், நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற அப்பற்சாகியரான உங்கள் வகையரா யாவரும் அவ்விடத்தைவிட்டு விலகியிருங்கள்.

Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:

தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையை அவர்கள் செய்யட்டும், யூதருடைய அதிபதியும், யூதரின் மூப்பரும், தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை அதின் ஸ்தானத்திலே கட்டக்கடவர்கள்.

Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.

தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை யூதரின் மூப்பர் கட்டும் விஷயத்தில் நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யத்தக்கதாய், நம்மால் உண்டான கட்டளை என்னவென்றால், அந்த மனிதருக்குத் தடை உண்டாகாதபடிக்கு, நதிக்கு அப்புறத்தில் வாங்கப்படும் பகுதியாகிய ராஜாவின் திரவியத்திலே அவர்களுக்குத் தாமதமில்லாமல் செல்லும் செலவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.

பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையிடத் தேவையான இளங்காளைகள், ஆட்டுக்கடாக்கள், ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகள், கோதுமை, உப்பு, திராட்சரசம், எண்ணெய் முதலானவை தினந்தினம் அவர்கள் சொற்படி தாழ்ச்சியில்லாமல் கொடுக்கப்படக்கடவது.

And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:

எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற ஆசாரியர்கள் பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுக்குச் சுகந்த வாசனையான பலிகளைச் செலுத்தி, ராஜாவுக்கும் அவர் குமாரருக்கும் தீர்க்காயுசுண்டாக மன்றாடும்படிக்கு இப்படிச் செய்யப்படுவதாக.

That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

பின்னும் நம்மால் பிறக்கும் கட்டளை என்னவென்றால்: எந்த மனிதனாவது இந்தக் கட்டளையை மாற்றினால், அவன் வீட்டிலிருந்து ஒரு உத்திரம் பிடுங்கி நாட்டப்பட்டு, அவன் அதில் தூக்கிப்போடப்படவும், அதினிமித்தமாக அவனுடைய வீடு குப்பைமேடாக்கப்படவுங்கடவது.

Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.

ஆகையால் இதை மாற்றவும், எருசலேமிலுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கெடுக்கவும், தங்கள் கையை நீட்டப்போகிற சகல ராஜாக்களையும் சகல ஜனங்களையும் தம்முடைய நாமத்தை அங்கே விளங்கப்பண்ணின தேவன் நிர்மூலமாக்கக்கடவர்; தரியுவாகிய நாம் இந்தக் கட்டளையைக் கொடுத்தோம்; இதின்படி ஜாக்கிரதையாய்ச் செய்யப்படக்கடவது என்று எழுதியனுப்பினான்.

And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

அப்பொழுது நதிக்கு இப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற தேசாதிபதியாகிய தத்னாயும், சேத்தார்பொஸ்னாயும், அவர்கள் வகையராவும், தரியு ராஜா கட்டளையிட்ட பிரகாரம் ஜாக்கிரதையாய்ச் செய்தார்கள்.

Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.

அப்படியே யூதரின் மூப்பர் கட்டினார்கள்; தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய ஆகாயும் இத்தோவின் குமாரனாகிய சகரியாவும் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி வந்தபடியினால் அவர்களுடைய காரியம் கைகூடிவந்தது; அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய கட்டளைப்படியேயும், கோரேஸ், தரியு, பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா என்பவர்களுடைய கட்டளைப்படியேயும் அதைக்கட்டி முடித்தார்கள்.

And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

ராஜாவாகிய தரியு அரசாளுகிற ஆறாம் வருஷம் ஆதார் என்னும் மாதம் மூன்றாந்தேதியிலே அந்த ஆலயம் கட்டி முடிந்தது.

And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும், ஆசாரியரும், லேவியரும், சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்த மற்றவர்களும், தேவனுடைய ஆலயப் பிரதிஷ்டையைச் சந்தோஷமாய்க் கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy,

தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் பிரதிஷ்டைக்காக நூறு காளைகளையும், இருநூறு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், நானூறு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களுடைய இலக்கத்தின்படியே, இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தின் பாவநிவாரணபலிக்காகப் பன்னிரண்டு வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் பலியிட்டு,

And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

மோசேயின் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே, அவர்கள் எருசலேமிலுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆராதனைக்கென்று ஆசாரியரை அவர்கள் வகுப்புகளின்படியும், லேவியரை அவர்கள் முறைவரிசைகளின்படியும் நிறுத்தினார்கள்.

And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.

சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்தவர்கள் முதலாம் மாதம் பதினாலாந்தேதியிலே பஸ்காவையும் ஆசரித்தார்கள்.

And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.

ஆசாரியரும் லேவியரும் ஒருமனப்பட்டுத் தங்களைச் சுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டதினால், எல்லாரும் சுத்தமாயிருந்து, சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்தவர்கள் எல்லாருக்காகவும், ஆசாரியரான தங்கள் சகோதரருக்காகவும், தங்களுக்காகவும் பஸ்காவின் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளை அடித்தார்கள்.

For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.

அப்படியே சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து திரும்பிவந்த இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும், இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நாடும்படி, பூலோக ஜாதிகளின் அசுத்தத்தை விட்டு, அவர்களண்டையிலே சேர்ந்த அனைவரும் அதைப் புசித்து,

And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,

புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப்பண்டிகையை ஏழுநாளாகச் சந்தோஷத்துடனே ஆசரித்தார்கள்; கர்த்தர் அவர்களை மகிழ்ச்சியாக்கி, அவர்கள் கைகளை இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவன் என்னும் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையிலே பலப்படுத்தத்தக்கதாய் அசீரியருடைய ராஜாவின் இருதயத்தை அவர்கள் பட்சத்தில் சார்ந்திருக்கப்பண்ணினார்.

And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

எஸ்றா அத்தியாயம் 7

இந்த வர்த்தமானங்களுக்குப்பின்பு, செராயாவின் குமாரனாகிய எஸ்றா, பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா அரசாளுகிற காலத்திலே பாபிலோனிலிருந்து வந்தான்; இந்தச் செராயா அசரியாவின் குமாரன், இவன் இல்க்கியாவின் குமாரன்,

Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

இவன் சல்லூமின் குமாரன், இவன் சாதோக்கின் குமாரன், இவன் அகிதூபின் குமாரன்,

The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,

இவன் அமரியாவின் குமாரன், இவன் அசரியாவின் குமாரன், இவன் மெராயோதின் குமாரன்,

The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,

இவன் சேராகியாவின் குமாரன், இவன் ஊசியின் குமாரன், இவன் புக்கியின் குமாரன்,

The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,

இவன் அபிசுவாவின் குமாரன், இவன் பினெகாசின் குமாரன், இவன் எலெயாசாரின் குமாரன், இவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியனான ஆரோனின் குமாரன்.

The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:

இந்த எஸ்றா இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அருளிய மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலே தேறின வேதபாரகனாயிருந்தான்; அவனுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய கரம் அவன்மேல் இருந்ததினால், அவன் கேட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் ராஜா அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.

This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

அவனோடேகூட இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிலும், ஆசாரியரிலும், லேவியரிலும், பாடகரிலும், வாசல் காவலாளரிலும், நிதனீமியரிலும், சிலர் அர்தசஷ்டா ராஜாவின் ஏழாம் வருஷத்திலே எருசலேமுக்குப் போனார்கள்.

And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.

ஐந்தாம் மாதத்தில் அவன் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான்; அது அந்த ராஜாவின் ஏழாம் வருஷமானது.

And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

முதலாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே அவன் பாபிலோனிலிருந்து பிரயாணமாகப் புறப்பட்டு, ஐந்தாம் மாதம் முதல்தேதியிலே தன் தேவனுடைய தயவுள்ள கரம் தன்மேலிருந்ததினால் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான்.

For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தை ஆராயவும், அதின்படி செய்யவும், இஸ்ரவேலிலே கட்டளைகளையும் நீதிநியாயங்களையும் உபதேசிக்கவும், எஸ்றா தன் இருதயத்தைப் பக்குவப்படுத்தியிருந்தான்.

For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

கர்த்தருடைய கற்பனைகளின் வார்த்தைகளிலும், அவர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளிலும், படித்துத் தேறின வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனுக்கு, ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா கொடுத்த சன்னதின் நகலாவது:

Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.

ராஜாதிராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் போதிக்கிற உத்தம வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனுக்குப் பூரண சமாதானமுண்டாக வாழ்த்தி எழுதுகிறது என்னவென்றால்:

Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.

நம்முடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனத்திலும், அதின் ஆசாரியரிலும், லேவியரிலும், உன்னோடேகூட எருசலேமுக்குப் போக மனப்பூர்வமாயிருக்கிற யாவரும் போகலாம் என்று நம்மாலே உத்தரவாகிறது.

I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.

நீ உன் கையிலிருக்கிற உன் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி, யூதாவையும் எருசலேமையும் விசாரித்து நடத்தவும்,

Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand;

ராஜாவும் அவருடைய மந்திரிமாரும் எருசலேமில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுக்கு மனப்பூர்வமாய்க் கொடுத்த வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும்,

And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,

பாபிலோன் சீமையெங்கும் உனக்குக் கிடைக்கும் எல்லா வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும், உன்னுடைய ஜனமும் ஆசாரியரும் எருசலேமிலுள்ள தங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்கென்று மனஉற்சாகமாய்க் கொடுக்கும் காணிக்கைகளையும் நீ கொண்டுபோகவும், நீ ராஜாவினாலும் அவருடைய ஏழு மந்திரிமாராலும் அனுப்பப்படுகிறாய்.

And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:

ஆகையால் அந்தத் திரவியத்தினால் நீ தாமதமின்றி காளைகளையும், ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், அவைகளுக்கடுத்த போஜனபலிகளையும், பானபலிகளையும் வாங்கி, அவைகளை எருசலேமிலுள்ள உங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் செலுத்துவாயாக.

That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.

மீதியான வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும் கொண்டு செய்யவேண்டியதின்னதென்று உனக்கும் உன் சகோதரருக்கும் நலமாய்த் தோன்றுகிறபடி அதை உங்கள் தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படியே செய்யுங்கள்.

And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.

உன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஆராதனைக்காக உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பணிமுட்டுகளையும் நீ எருசலேமின் தேவனுடைய சந்நிதியில் ஒப்புவிக்கக்கடவாய்.

The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.

பின்னும் உன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்கு அவசியமாய்க் கொடுக்கவேண்டியிருப்பதை, நீ ராஜாவின் கஜானாவிலிருந்து வாங்கிக் கொடுப்பாயாக.

And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.

நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற எல்லா கஜான்சிகளுக்கும் அர்தசஷ்டா என்னும் ராஜாவாகிய நாம் இடுகிற கட்டளை என்னவென்றால், பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் போதிக்கும் வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியன் நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளி, நூறுகலக்கோதுமை, நூறுகலத் திராட்சரசம், நூறுகலம் எண்ணெய்மட்டும் உங்களைக் கேட்பவை எல்லாவற்றையும்,

And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,

வேண்டிய உப்பையும், தாமதமில்லாமல் கொடுக்கவும்,

Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.

பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய கற்பனையின்படியே, எது தேவையாயிருக்குமோ அதுவெல்லாம் பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு ஜாக்கிரதையாய்ச் செலுத்தப்படவும் வேண்டும்; ராஜாவும் அவர் குமாரரும் ஆளும் ராஜ்யத்தின்மேல் கடுங்கோபம் வருவானேன்.

Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

பின்னும் ஆசாரியரும், லேவியரும், பாடகரும், வாசல் காவலாளரும், நிதனீமியரும், தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் பணிவிடைக்காரருமான ஒருவன்மேலும் பகுதியாகிலும் தீர்வையாகிலும் ஆயமாகிலும் சுமத்தலாகாதென்று அவர்களைக்குறித்து உங்களுக்கு அறியப்படுத்துகிறோம்.

Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.

பின்னும் நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருந்து உன் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணங்களை அறிந்த சகல ஜனங்களையும் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கத்தக்க துரைகளையும், நியாயாதிபதிகளையும், எஸ்றாவாகிய நீ உன்னிலுள்ள உன் தேவனுடைய ஞானத்தின்படியே ஏற்படுத்துவாயாக; அந்தப் பிரமாணங்களை அறியாதவர்களுக்கு அவைகளை உபதேசிக்கவுங்கடவாய்.

And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.

உன் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியேயும், ராஜாவினுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியேயும் செய்யாதவனெவனும் உடனே மரணத்துக்காகிலும், தேசத்துக்குப் புறம்பாக்குதலுக்காகிலும், அபராதத்துக்காகிலும், காவலுக்காகிலும் தீர்க்கப்பட்டுத் தண்டிக்கப்படக்கடவன் என்று எழுதியிருந்தது.

And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

எருசலேமிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தை அலங்கரிக்க, இப்படிப்பட்ட யோசனையை ராஜாவின் இருதயத்தில் அருளி, ராஜாவுக்கும் அவருடைய மந்திரிமார்களுக்கும் ராஜாவின் கைக்குள்ளான பலத்த எல்லா மகாப்பிரபுக்களுக்கும் முன்பாக எனக்குத் தயவு கிடைக்கப்பண்ணின எங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:

அப்படியே என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய கரம் என்மேல் இருந்ததினால் நான் திடன்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலில் சில தலைவரை என்னோடேகூட வரும்படி சேர்த்துக்கொண்டேன்.

And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

மத்தேயு அத்தியாயம் 12

அக்காலத்திலே, இயேசு ஓய்வுநாளில் பயிர்வழியே போனார்; அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் பசியாயிருந்து, கதிர்களைக் கொய்து, தின்னத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

பரிசேயர் அதைக்கண்டு, அவரை நோக்கி: இதோ, ஓய்வுநாளில் செய்யத்தகாததை உம்முடைய சீஷர்கள் செய்கிறார்களே என்றார்கள்.

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

அதற்கு அவர்: தாவீதும் அவனோடிருந்தவர்களும் பசியாயிருந்தபோது செய்ததை நீங்கள் வாசிக்கவில்லையா?

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

அவன் தேவனுடைய வீட்டில் பிரவேசித்து, ஆசாரியர் தவிர வேறொருவரும் புசிக்கத்தகாத தேவசமுகத்து அப்பங்களைத் தானும் தன்னோடிருந்தவர்களும் புசித்தார்களே.

How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

அன்றியும், ஓய்வுநாட்களில் ஆசாரியர்கள் தேவாலயத்தில் ஓய்ந்திராமல், ஓய்வுநாளை வேலை நாளாக்கினாலும், குற்றமில்லாதிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் வேதத்தில் வாசிக்கவில்லையா?

Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

தேவாலயத்திலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

பலியையல்ல இரக்கத்தையே விரும்புகிறேன் என்பதின் கருத்து இன்னதென்று அறிந்தீர்களானால், குற்றமில்லாதவர்களை நீங்கள் குற்றப்படுத்தமாட்டீர்கள்.

But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

மனுஷகுமாரன் ஓய்வுநாளுக்கும் ஆண்டவராய் இருக்கிறார் என்றார்.

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

அவர் அவ்விடம் விட்டுப்போய், அவர்களுடைய ஜெப ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்தார்.

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

அங்கே சூம்பின கையையுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அப்பொழுது, அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாட்டும்படிக்கு: ஓய்வுநாளில் சொஸ்தமாக்குகிறது நியாயமா என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

அதற்கு அவர்: உங்களில் எந்த மனுஷனுக்காகிலும் ஒரு ஆடு இருந்து, அது ஓய்வுநாளில் குழியிலே விழுந்தால், அதைப் பிடித்துத் தூக்கிவிடமாட்டானோ?

And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

ஆட்டைப்பார்க்கிலும் மனுஷனானவன் எவ்வளவோ விசேஷித்திருக்கிறான்! ஆதலால், ஓய்வுநாளிலே நன்மைசெய்வது நியாயந்தான் என்று சொன்னார்.

How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

பின்பு அந்த மனுஷனை நோக்கி: உன் கையை நீட்டு என்றார். அவன் நீட்டினான்; அது மறுகையைப்போல் சொஸ்தமாயிற்று.

Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

அப்பொழுது, பரிசேயர் வெளியேபோய், அவரைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி அவருக்கு விரோதமாய் ஆலோசனைபண்ணினார்கள்.

Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

இயேசு அதை அறிந்து, அவ்விடம்விட்டு விலகிப்போனார். திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவருக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்; அவர்களெல்லாரையும் அவர் சொஸ்தமாக்கி,

But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

தம்மைப் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணாதபடி அவர்களுக்குக் கண்டிப்பாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And charged them that they should not make him known:

ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியால் உரைக்கப்பட்டது நிறைவேறும்படி இப்படி நடந்தது. அவன் உரைத்ததாவது:

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

இதோ, நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட என்னுடைய தாசன், என் ஆத்துமாவுக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்கிற என்னுடைய நேசன்; என் ஆவியை அவர்மேல் அமரப்பண்ணுவேன், அவர் புறஜாதியாருக்கு நியாயத்தை அறிவிப்பார்.

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

வாக்குவாதம் செய்யவுமாட்டார், கூக்குரலிடவுமாட்டார்; அவருடைய சத்தத்தை ஒருவனும் வீதிகளில் கேட்பதுமில்லை.

He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

அவர் நியாயத்திற்கு ஜெயங்கிடைக்கப்பண்ணுகிறவரைக்கும், நெரிந்த நாணலை முறிக்காமலும், மங்கியெரிகிற திரியை அணைக்காமலும் இருப்பார்.

A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

அவருடைய நாமத்தின்மேல் புறஜாதியார் நம்பிக்கையாயிருப்பார்கள் என்பதே.

And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

அப்பொழுது, பிசாசு பிடித்த குருடும் ஊமையுமான ஒருவன் அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டான்; குருடும் ஊமையுமானவன் பேசவுங் காணவுந்தக்கதாக அவனைச் சொஸ்தமாக்கினார்.

Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: தாவீதின் குமாரன் இவர்தானோ? என்றார்கள்.

And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

பரிசேயர் அதைக்கேட்டு: இவன் பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாகிய பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறானேயல்லாமல் மற்றப்படியல்ல என்றார்கள்.

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

இயேசு அவர்கள் சிந்தனைகளை அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: தனக்குத் தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த ராஜ்யமும் பாழாய்ப்போகும்; தனக்குத் தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்தப் பட்டணமும் எந்த வீடும் நிலைநிற்கமாட்டாது.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

சாத்தானைச் சாத்தான் துரத்தினால் தனக்கு விரோதமாகத்தானே பிரிவினை செய்கிறதாயிருக்குமே; அப்படிச் செய்தால் அவன் ராஜ்யம் எப்படி நிலைநிற்கும்?

And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

நான் பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தினால், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அவைகளை யாராலே துரத்துகிறார்கள்? ஆகையால், அவர்களே உங்களை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர்களாயிருப்பார்கள்.

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

நான் தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறபடியால், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் உங்களிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறதே.

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

அன்றியும், பலவானை முந்திக் கட்டினாலொழிய பலவானுடைய வீட்டுக்குள் ஒருவன் புகுந்து, அவன் உடைமைகளை எப்படிக் கொள்ளையிடக்கூடும்? கட்டினானேயாகில், அவன் வீட்டைக் கொள்ளையிடலாம்.

Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

என்னோடே இராதவன் எனக்கு விரோதியாயிருக்கிறான்; என்னோடே சேர்க்காதவன் சிதறடிக்கிறான்.

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

ஆதலால், நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்: எந்தப் பாவமும் எந்தத் தூஷணமும் மனுஷருக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்; ஆவியானவருக்கு விரோதமான தூஷணமோ மனுஷருக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

எவனாகிலும் மனுஷகுமாரனுக்கு விரோதமான வார்த்தை சொன்னால் அது அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்; எவனாகிலும் பரிசுத்த ஆவிக்கு விரோதமாகப் பேசினால் அது இம்மையிலும் மறுமையிலும் அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

மரம் நல்லதென்றால், அதின் கனியும் நல்லதென்று சொல்லுங்கள்; மரம் கெட்டதென்றால், அதின் கனியும் கெட்டதென்று சொல்லுங்கள்; மரமானது அதின் கனியினால் அறியப்படும்.

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

விரியன் பாம்புக் குட்டிகளே, நீங்கள் பொல்லாதவர்களாயிருக்க, நலமானவைகளை எப்படிப் பேசுவீர்கள்? இருதயத்தின் நிறைவினால் வாய் பேசும்.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

நல்ல மனுஷன் இருதயமாகிய நல்ல பொக்கிஷத்திலிருந்து நல்லவைகளை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறான், பொல்லாத மனுஷன் பொல்லாத பொக்கிஷத்திலிருந்து பொல்லாதவைகளை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறான்.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

மனுஷர் பேசும் வீணான வார்த்தைகள் யாவையும் குறித்து நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளிலே கணக்கொப்புவிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

ஏனெனில், உன் வார்த்தைகளினாலே நீதிமான் என்று தீர்க்கப்படுவாய்; அல்லது உன் வார்த்தைகளினாலே குற்றவாளி என்று தீர்க்கப்படுவாய் என்றார்.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

அப்பொழுது, வேதபாரகரிலும் பரிசேயரிலும் சிலர் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, உம்மால் ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காணவிரும்புகிறோம் என்றார்கள்.

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

அவர்களுக்கு அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இந்தப் பொல்லாத விபசாரச் சந்ததியார் அடையாளத்தைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யோனா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் அடையாளமேயன்றி வேறே அடையாளம் இவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

யோனா இரவும் பகலும் மூன்றுநாள் ஒரு பெரிய மீனின் வயிற்றில் இருந்ததுபோல, மனுஷகுமாரனும் இரவும் பகலும் மூன்றுநாள் பூமியின் இருதயத்தில் இருப்பார்.

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

யோனாவின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் மனந்திரும்பினார்கள். இதோ, யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார். ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவார்கள்.

The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

தென்தேசத்து ராஜஸ்திரீ பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க வந்தாள். இதோ, சாலொமோனிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார். ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளிலே அந்த ராஜஸ்திரீ இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவாள்.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

அசுத்த ஆவி ஒரு மனுஷனை விட்டுப் புறப்படும்போது, வறண்ட இடங்களில் அலைந்து, இளைப்பாறுதல் தேடியும் கண்டடையாமல்:

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

நான் விட்டுவந்த என் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போவேன் என்று சொல்லி; அங்கே வந்து, அந்த வீடு வெறுமையாகவும், பெருக்கி, ஜோடிக்கப்பட்டதாகவும் இருக்கக்கண்டு,

Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

திரும்பிப்போய், தன்னிலும் பொல்லாத வேறு ஏழு ஆவிகளைத் தன்னோடே கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, உட்புகுந்து, அங்கே குடியிருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது, அந்த மனுஷனுடைய முன்னிலைமையிலும் அவன் பின்னிலைமை அதிக கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்; அப்படியே இந்தப் பொல்லாத சந்ததியாருக்கும் சம்பவிக்கும் என்றார்.

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

இப்படி அவர் ஜனங்களோடே பேசுகையில், அவருடைய தாயாரும் சகோதரரும் அவரிடத்தில் பேசவேண்டுமென்று வெளியே நின்றார்கள்.

While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

அப்பொழுது, ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய தாயாரும் உம்முடைய சகோதரரும் உம்மோடே பேசவேண்டுமென்று வெளியே நிற்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

தம்மிடத்தில் இப்படிச் சொன்னவனுக்கு அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் தாயார் யார்? என் சகோதரர் யார்? என்று சொல்லி,

But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

தம்முடைய கையைத் தமது சீஷர்களுக்கு நேரே நீட்டி; இதோ, என் தாயும் என் சகோதரரும் இவர்களே!

And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற என் பிதாவின் சித்தத்தின்படி செய்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவனே எனக்குச் சகோதரனும், சகோதரியும், தாயுமாய் இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
