1நாளாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 11

இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் எப்ரோனிலிருக்கிற தாவீதினிடத்தில் கூடிவந்து: இதோ, நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எலும்பும் உம்முடைய மாம்சமுமானவர்கள்.

Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

சவுல் இன்னும் ராஜாவாயிருக்கும்போதே, நீர் இஸ்ரவேலை நடத்திக்கொண்டுபோய் நடத்திக்கொண்டு வருவீர்; என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை நீர் மேய்த்து, என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் தலைவனாயிருப்பீர் என்று உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உமக்குச் சொல்லியும் இருக்கிறார் என்றார்கள்.

And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.

அப்படியே இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரெல்லாரும் எப்ரோனிலே ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது எப்ரோனிலே கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவர்களோடு உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணிக்கொண்டபின்பு, கர்த்தர் சாமுவேலைக்கொண்டு சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே அவர்கள் தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.

பின்பு தாவீது இஸ்ரவேலனைத்தோடுங்கூட ஏபூசாகிய எருசலேமுக்குப் போனான்; எபூசியர் அத்தேசத்தின் குடிகளாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

அப்பொழுது ஏபூசின் குடிகள் தாவீதை நோக்கி: நீ இதற்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை என்றார்கள்; ஆனாலும் தாவீது சீயோன் கோட்டையைப் பிடித்தான்; அது தாவீதின் நகரமாயிற்று.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

எபூசியரை முறிய அடிக்கிறதில் எவன் முந்தினவனாயிருக்கிறானோ, அவன் தலைவனும் சேனாபதியுமாயிருப்பானென்று தாவீது சொல்லியிருந்தான்; செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாப் முந்தி ஏறித் தலைவனானான்.

And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

தாவீது அந்தக் கோட்டையில் வாசம்பண்ணினபடியினால், அது தாவீதின் நகரம் என்னப்பட்டது.

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.

கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே, தாவீதை ராஜாவாக்கும்படி அவன் வசமாயிருந்து ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணுகிற அவனிடத்திலும், சகல இஸ்ரவேலரிடத்திலும், வீரதத்துவத்தைப் பாராட்டின பிரதான பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும்,

These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.

தாவீதுக்கு இருந்த அந்தப் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளின் இலக்கமுமாவது: அக்மோனியின் குமாரனாகிய யாஷோபியாம் என்னும் சேர்வைக்காரரின் தலைவன்: இவன் முந்நூறுபேர்களின்மேல் தன் ஈட்டியை ஓங்கி அவர்களை ஒருமிக்கக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.

இவனுக்கு இரண்டாவது அகோயின் குமாரனாகிய தோதோவின் மகன் எலெயாசார்; இவன் மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளில் ஒருவன்.

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.

பெலிஸ்தர் பாஸ்தம்மீமிலிருக்கிற வாற்கோதுமை நிறைந்த வயல்நிலத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்குக் கூடிவந்தபோதும், ஜனம் பெலிஸ்தரைக் கண்டு ஓடினபோதும் இவன் தாவீதோடே அங்கே இருந்தான்.

He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இந்த நிலத்தின் நடுவிலே நின்று அதைக் காப்பாற்றிப் பெலிஸ்தரை மடங்கடித்தார்கள்; அதினாலே கர்த்தர் பெரிய ரட்சிப்பை நடப்பித்தார்.

And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.

முப்பது தலைவரில் மூன்றுபேர் அதுல்லாம் என்னும் கன்மலைக் கெபியிலிருக்கிற தாவீதினிடத்தில் போயிருந்தார்கள்; பெலிஸ்தரின் பாளயம் ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இறங்குகிறபோது,

Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

தாவீது அரணான ஒரு இடத்திலிருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தரின் தாணையம் பெத்லகேமில் இருந்தது.

And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.

தாவீது பெத்லகேமின் ஒலிமுகவாசலிலிருக்கிற கிணற்றின் தண்ணீர்மேல் ஆவல்கொண்டு, என் தாகத்திற்குக் கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீர் கொண்டுவருகிறவன் யார் என்றான்.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!

அப்பொழுது அந்த மூன்றுபேர் பெலிஸ்தரின் பாளயத்திற்குள் துணிந்து புகுந்துபோய், பெத்லகேமின் ஒலிமுகவாசலிலிருக்கிற கிணற்றிலே தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, தாவீதினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவன் அதைக் குடிக்க மனதில்லாமல் அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஊற்றிப்போட்டு:

And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD,

நான் இதைச் செய்யாதபடிக்கு, என் தேவன் என்னைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளக்கடவர்; தங்கள் பிராணனை எண்ணாமல் போய் அதைக் கொண்டுவந்த இந்த மனுஷரின் ரத்தத்தைக் குடிப்பேனோ என்று சொல்லி அதைக் குடிக்கமாட்டேன் என்றான். இப்படி இந்த மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும் செய்தார்கள்.

And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.

யோவாபின் சகோதரனாகிய அபிசாய் அந்த மூன்றுபேரில் பிரதானமானவன்; அவன் தன் ஈட்டியை ஓங்கி, முந்நூறுபேரை மடங்கடித்ததினால் இந்த மூன்றுபேரில் பேர்பெற்றவனானான்.

And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.

இந்த மூன்றுபேரில் அவன் மற்ற இரண்டுபேரிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவனானதினால், அவர்களில் தலைவனானான்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்றுபேருக்கு அவன் சமானமானவனல்ல.

Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.

பராக்கிரமசாலியாகிய யோய்தாவின் குமாரனும், கப்சேயேல் ஊரானுமாகிய பெனாயாவும் செய்கைகளில் வல்லவனாயிருந்தான்; அவன் மோவாப் தேசத்தின் இரண்டு வலுமையான சிங்கங்களைக் கொன்றதுமல்லாமல், உறைந்த மழை பெய்த நாளில் அவன் ஒரு கெபிக்குள்ளே இறங்கிப்போய், ஒரு சிங்கத்தைக் கொன்றான்.

Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.

ஐந்து முழ உயரமான ஒரு எகிப்தியனையும் அவன் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; அந்த எகிப்தியன் கையில் நெய்கிறவர்களின் படைமரக் கனதியான ஒரு ஈட்டி இருக்கையில், இவன் ஒரு தடியைப் பிடித்து, அவனிடத்தில் போய், அந்த எகிப்தியன் கையிலிருந்த ஈட்டியைப் பறித்து, அவன் ஈட்டியினாலே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

இவைகளை யோய்தாவின் குமாரனான பெனாயா செய்தபடியினால், மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுக்குள்ளே பேர்பெற்றவனாய் இருந்தான்.

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.

முப்பதுபேரிலும் இவன் மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்றுபேருக்கும் இவன் சமானமானவனல்ல; அவனைத் தாவீது தன் மெய்க்காவலருக்குத் தலைவனாக வைத்தான்.

Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.

இராணுவத்திலிருந்த மற்றப் பராக்கிரமசாலிகள்: யோவாபின் தம்பி ஆசகேல், பெத்லகேம் ஊரானாகிய தோதோவின் குமாரன் ஏல்க்கானான்,

Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

ஆரோதியனாகிய சம்மோத், பெலோனியனாகிய ஏலெஸ்,

Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,

தெக்கோவியனாகிய இக்கேசின் குமாரன் ஈரா, ஆனதோத்தியனாகிய அபியேசர்,

Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,

ஊசாத்தியனாகிய சிபெக்காய், அகோகியனாகிய ஈலாய்,

Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,

நெத்தோபாத்தியனாகிய மகராயி, நெத்தோபாத்தியனாகிய பானாவின் குமாரன் ஏலேத்,

Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,

பென்யமீன் புத்திரரின் கிபேயா ஊரானாகிய ரிபாயின் குமாரன் இத்தாயி, பிரத்தோனியனாகிய பெனாயா,

Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

காகாஸ் நீரோடைத் தேசத்தானாகிய ஊராயி, அர்பாத்தியனாகிய அபியேல்,

Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,

பகரூமியனாகிய அஸ்மாவேத், சால்போனியனாகிய ஏலியாபா,

Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,

கீசோனியனாகிய ஆசேமின் குமாரர், ஆராரியனாகிய சாகியின் குமாரன் யோனத்தான்.

The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,

ஆராரியனாகிய சாக்காரின் குமாரன் அகியாம், ஊரின் குமாரன் ஏலிபால்,

Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,

மெகராத்தியனாகிய எப்பேர், பெலோனியனாகிய அகியா,

Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,

கர்மேலியனாகிய ஏஸ்ரோ, ஏஸ்பாயின் குமாரன் நாராயி,

Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,

நாத்தானின் சகோதரன் யோவேல், அகரியின் குமாரன் மிப்கார்,

Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Haggeri,

அம்மோனியனாகிய சேலேக், செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாபின் ஆயுததாரியான பெரோத்தியனாகிய நாராயி,

Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armourbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,

இத்தரியனாகிய ஈரா, இத்தரியனாகிய காரெப்,

Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,

ஏத்தியனாகிய உரியா, அக்லாயின் குமாரன் சாபாத்,

Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,

ரூபனியரின் தலைவனாகிய சீசாவின் குமாரன் அதினா என்னும் ரூபனியன்; அவனோடே முப்பது பேர் இருந்தார்கள்.

Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a captain of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,

மாகாவின் குமாரன் ஆனான், மிதினியனாகிய யோசபாத்,

Hanan the son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,

அஸ்தரேத்தியனாகிய உசியா, ஆரோவேரியனாகிய ஓத்தாமின் குமாரர் சமாவும், யேகியேலும்,

Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel the sons of Hothan the Aroerite,

சிம்ரியின் குமாரன் ஏதியாயேல், தித்சியனாகிய அவன் சகோதரன் யோகா,

Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,

மாகாவியரின் புத்திரன் ஏலியேல், ஏல்நாமின் குமாரர் ஏரிபாயும், யொசவியாவும், மோவாபியனான இத்மாவும்,

Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,

மெசோபாயா ஊராராகிய ஏலியேலும், ஓபேதும், யாசீயேலுமே.

Eliel, and Obed, and Jasiel the Mesobaite.

தாவீது கீசின் குமாரனாகிய சவுலினிமித்தம் இன்னும் மறைவாயிருக்கையில், சிக்லாகிலிருக்கிற அவனிடத்திற்கு வந்து,

Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.

யுத்தத்திற்கு ஒத்தாசை செய்த வில்வீரரும், கவண்கல் எறிகிறதற்கும் வில்லினால் அம்பு எய்கிறதற்கும் வலது இடது கைவாட்டமான பராக்கிரமசாலிகளான மற்ற மனுஷருமாவன: சவுலின் சகோதரராகிய பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தில்,

They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.

கிபேயா ஊரானாகிய சேமாவின் குமாரர் அகியேசர் என்னும் தலைவனும், யோவாசும், அஸ்மாவேத்தின் குமாரராகிய எசியேலும், பேலேத்தும், பெராக்கா, ஆனதோத்தியனான ஏகூ என்பவர்களும்,

The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,

முப்பதுபேரில் பராக்கிரமனும் முப்பதுபேருக்குப் பெரியவனுமான இஸ்மாயா என்னும் கிபியோனியனும், எரேமியா, யகாசியேல், யோகனான், கெதேரூரானான யோசபாத்,

And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,

எலுசாயி, எரிமோத், பிகலியா, செமரியா, அருப்பியனான செப்பத்தியா,

Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,

எல்க்கானா, எஷியா, அசாரியேல், யொவேசேர், யசொபெயாம் என்னும் கோரேகியரும்,

Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korhites,

யொவேலா, செபதியா என்னும் கேதோர் ஊரானான எரோகாமின் குமாரருமே.

And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

காத்தியரில் பரிசையும் ஈட்டியும் பிடித்து, சிங்கமுகம் போன்ற முகமும், மலைகளிலிருக்கிற வெளிமான் வேகம் போன்ற வேகமுமுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்து, யுத்தசேவகரான பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் சிலரும் வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள அரணான இடத்தில் இருக்கிற தாவீது பட்சமாய்ச் சேர்ந்தார்கள்.

And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;

யாரென்றால், எத்சேர் என்னும் தலைவன், அவனுக்கு இரண்டாவது ஒபதியா; மூன்றாவது எலியாப்,

Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

நாலாவது மிஸ்மன்னா, ஐந்தாவது எரேமியா,

Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

ஆறாவது அத்தாயி, ஏழாவது எலியேல்,

Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

எட்டாவது யோகனான், ஒன்பதாவது எல்சபாத்,

Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

பத்தாவது எரேமியா, பதினோராவது மக்பன்னாயி,

Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.

காத் புத்திரரான இவர்கள் இராணுவத்தலைவராயிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்களில் சிறியவன் நூறுபேருக்கும் பெரியவன் ஆயிரம்பேருக்கும் சேர்வைக்காரராயிருந்தார்கள்.

These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.

யோர்தான் கரைபுரண்டு போயிருக்கிற முதலாம் மாதத்தில் அதைக் கடந்து, கிழக்கேயும் மேற்கேயும் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் இருக்கிற யாவரையும் துரத்திவிட்டவர்கள் இவர்களே.

These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

பின்னும் பென்யமீன் புத்திரரிலும் யூதா புத்திரரிலும் சிலர் அரணான ஸ்தலத்தில் இருக்கிற தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்.

And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.

தாவீது புறப்பட்டு, அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுத்து: நீங்கள் எனக்கு உதவி செய்ய சமாதானமாய் என்னிடத்தில் வந்தீர்களானால், என் இருதயம் உங்களோடு இசைந்திருக்கும்; என் கைகளில் கொடுமை இல்லாதிருக்க, என்னை என் சத்துருக்களுக்குக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்க வந்தீர்களேயாகில், நம்முடைய பிதாக்களின் தேவன் அதைப் பார்த்துக் கண்டிப்பாராக என்றான்.

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

அப்பொழுது அதிபதிகளுக்குத் தலைவனான அமாசாயின்மேல் ஆவி இறங்கினதினால், அவன்: தாவீதே, நாங்கள் உம்முடையவர்கள்; ஈசாயின் குமாரனே, உமது பட்சமாயிருப்போம்; உமக்குச் சமாதானம், சமாதானம்; உமக்கு உதவி செய்கிறவர்களுக்கும் சமாதானம்; உம்முடைய தேவன் உமக்குத் துணை நிற்கிறார் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது தாவீது அவர்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களைத் தண்டுக்குத் தலைவராக்கினான்.

Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

சவுலின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணப்போகிற பெலிஸ்தருடனேகூடத் தாவீது வருகிறபோது, மனாசேயிலும் சிலர் அவன் பட்சயமாய்ச் சேர்ந்தார்கள்; பெலிஸ்தரின் பிரபுக்கள் யோசனைபண்ணி, அவன் நம்முடைய தலைகளுக்கு மோசமாய்த் தன் ஆண்டவனாகிய சவுலின் பட்சயமாய்ப் போவான் என்று அவனை அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள்; அதனால் அவர்கள் இவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்யவில்லை.

And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

அப்படியே அவன் சிக்லாகுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போகையில், மனாசேயில் அத்னாக், யோசபாத், எதியாவேல், மிகாயேல், யோசபாத், எலிகூ, சில்த்தாயி என்னும் மனாசே கோத்திரத்தாரின் ஆயிரத்துச் சேர்வைக்காரர் அவன் பட்சமாய் வந்தார்கள்.

As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh.

அந்தத் தண்டுக்கு விரோதமாய் இவர்கள் தாவீதுக்கு உதவி செய்தார்கள்; இவர்களெல்லாரும் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும் இராணுவத்தில் சேர்வைக்காரருமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.

அக்காலத்திலே நாளுக்குநாள் தாவீதுக்கு உதவிசெய்யும் மனுஷர் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து சேர்ந்தபடியால், அவர்கள் தேவசேனையைப்போல மகா சேனையானார்கள்.

For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

கர்த்தருடைய வாக்கின்படியே, சவுலின் ராஜ்யபாரத்தைத் தாவீதினிடமாய்த் திருப்ப, எப்ரோனிலிருக்கிற அவனிடத்துக்கு வந்த யுத்தசன்னத்தரான தலைவரின் இலக்கமாவன:

And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.

யூதா புத்திரரில் பரிசையும் ஈட்டியும் பிடித்து, யுத்த சன்னத்தரானவர்கள் ஆறாயிரத்து எண்ணூறுபேர்.

The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.

சிமியோன் புத்திரரில் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளாகிய யுத்தவீரர் ஏழாயிரத்து நூறுபேர்.

Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

லேவி புத்திரரில் நாலாயிரத்து அறுநூறுபேர்.

Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.

ஆரோன் சந்ததியாரின் அதிபதியாகிய யோய்தாவும், அவனோடிருந்த மூவாயிரத்து எழுநூறுபேரும்,

And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;

பராக்கிரமசாலியான சாதோக் என்னும் வாலிபனும், அவன் தகப்பன் வம்சத்தாரான இருபத்திரண்டு தலைவருமே.

And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.

பென்யமீன் புத்திரரான சவுலின் சகோதரரில் மூவாயிரம்பேர்; அதுவரைக்கும் அவர்களில் மிச்சமானவர்கள் சவுலின் குடும்பத்தைக் காப்பாற்றப்பார்த்தார்கள்.

And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.

எப்பிராயீம் புத்திரரில் தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் வம்சத்தில் பேர்பெற்ற மனுஷரான பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் இருபதினாயிரத்து எண்ணூறுபேர்.

And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.

மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தில் தாவீதை ராஜாவாக்குகிறதற்கு வரும்படி, பேர்பேராகக் குறிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் பதினெண்ணாயிரம்பேர்.

And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.

இசக்கார் புத்திரரில், இஸ்ரவேலர் செய்யவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று அறிந்து காலாகாலங்களுக்குத் தகுந்த யோசனை சொல்லத்தக்க தலைவர்கள் இருநூறுபேரும், இவர்கள் வாக்குக்குச் செவிகொடுத்த இவர்களுடைய எல்லாச் சகோதரருமே.

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

செபுலோன் புத்திரரில் சகலவித யுத்த ஆயுதங்களாலும் யுத்தம் செய்கிறதற்கும், தங்கள் அணியைக் காத்து நிற்கிறதற்கும் பழகி, வஞ்சனை செய்யாமல் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போகத்தக்கவர்கள் ஐம்பதினாயிரம்பேர்.

Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.

நப்தலி புத்திரரில் ஆயிரம் தலைவர்கள் பரிசையும் ஈட்டியும் பிடித்த அவர்களோடேகூட இருந்தவர்கள் முப்பத்தேழாயிரம்பேர்.

And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.

தாண் புத்திரரில் யுத்தத்திற்குத் தேறினவர்கள் இருபத்து எண்ணாயிரத்து அறுநூறுபேர்.

And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.

ஆசேர் புத்திரரில் யுத்தத்திற்குத் தேறினவர்களாய் சேவகம்பண்ணப்போகத்தக்கவர்கள் நாற்பதினாயிரம்பேர்.

And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.

யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையான ரூபனியரிலும், காத்தியரிலும், மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாரிலும், யுத்தம்பண்ண சகலவித ஆயுதங்களையும் தரித்தவர்கள் நூற்றிருபதினாயிரம்பேர்.

And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.

தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக்குகிறதற்கு, இந்த யுத்தமனுஷர் எல்லாரும் அணிஅணியாய் வைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக, உத்தம இருதயத்தோடே எப்ரோனுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலில் மற்ற யாவரும் தாவீதை ராஜாவாக்குகிறதற்கு ஒருமனப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்.

All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

அவர்கள் அங்கே தாவீதோடேகூட மூன்று நாள் இருந்து, போஜனபானம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்கள் சகோதரர் அவர்களுக்காகச் சகலத்தையும் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணியிருந்தார்கள்.

And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.

இசக்கார், செபுலோன், நப்தலியின் எல்லைமட்டும் அவர்களுக்குச் சமீபமாயிருந்தவர்களும், கழுதைகள் மேலும், ஒட்டகங்கள் மேலும், கோவேறு கழுதைகள் மேலும், மாடுகள் மேலும், தின்பண்டங்களாகிய மா, அத்திப்பழ அடைகள், வற்றலான திராட்சப்பழங்கள், திராட்சரசம், எண்ணெய், ஆடுமாடுகள் ஆகிய இவைகளை வேண்டிய மட்டும் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலிலே மகிழ்ச்சியுண்டாயிற்று.

Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.

2பேதுரு அத்தியாயம் 1

நம்முடைய தேவனும் இரட்சகருமாயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நீதியால் எங்களைப்போல அருமையான விசுவாசத்தைப் பெற்றவர்களுக்கு, இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் ஊழியக்காரனும் அப்போஸ்தலனுமாகிய சீமோன் பேதுரு எழுதுகிறதாவது:

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

தேவனையும் நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவையும் அறிகிற அறிவினால் உங்களுக்குக் கிருபையும் சமாதானமும் பெருகக்கடவது.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

தம்முடைய மகிமையினாலும் காருணியத்தினாலும் நம்மை அழைத்தவரை அறிகிற அறிவினாலே ஜீவனுக்கும் தேவபக்திக்கும் வேண்டிய யாவற்றையும், அவருடைய திவ்விய வல்லமையானது நமக்குத் தந்தருளினதுமன்றி,

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

இச்சையினால் உலகத்திலுண்டான கேட்டுக்குத் தப்பி, திவ்விய சுபாவத்துக்குப் பங்குள்ளவர்களாகும்பொருட்டு, மகா மேன்மையும் அருமையுமான வாக்குத்தத்தங்களும் அவைகளினாலே நமக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

இப்படியிருக்க, நீங்கள் அதிக ஜாக்கிரதையுள்ளவர்களாய் உங்கள் விசுவாசத்தோடே தைரியத்தையும், தைரியத்தோடே ஞானத்தையும்,

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

ஞானத்தோடே இச்சையடக்கத்தையும், இச்சையடக்கத்தோடே பொறுமையையும், பொறுமையோடே தேவபக்தியையும்,

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

தேவபக்தியோடே சகோதரசிநேகத்தையும், சகோதரசிநேகத்தோடே அன்பையும் கூட்டி வழங்குங்கள்.

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

இவைகள் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருந்து பெருகினால், உங்களை நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை அறிகிற அறிவிலே வீணரும் கனியற்றவர்களுமாயிருக்கவொட்டாது.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

இவைகள் இல்லாதவன் எவனோ, அவன் முன்செய்த பாவங்களறத் தான் சுத்திகரிக்கப்பட்டதை மறந்து கண்சொருகிப்போன குருடனாயிருக்கிறான்.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

ஆகையால், சகோதரரே, உங்கள் அழைப்பையும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளுதலையும் உறுதியாக்கும்படி ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருங்கள்; இவைகளைச் செய்தால் நீங்கள் ஒருக்காலும் இடறிவிழுவதில்லை.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

இவ்விதமாய், நம்முடைய கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகருமாகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நித்திய ராஜ்யத்துக்குட்படும் பிரவேசம் உங்களுக்குப் பரிபூரணமாய் அளிக்கப்படும்.

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

இதினிமித்தம், இவைகளை நீங்கள் அறிந்தும், நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது அறிந்திருக்கிற சத்தியத்தில் உறுதிப்பட்டிருந்தும், உங்களுக்கு இவைகளை எப்பொழுதும் நினைப்பூட்ட நான் அசதியாயிரேன்.

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து எனக்கு அறிவித்தபடி நான் என் கூடாரத்தைவிட்டுப்போவது சீக்கிரத்தில் நேரிடுமென்று அறிந்து,

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

இந்தக் கூடாரத்தில் நான் இருக்குமளவும் உங்களை நினைப்பூட்டி எழுப்பிவிடுவது நியாயமென்று எண்ணுகிறேன்.

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

மேலும், நான் சென்றுபோனபின்பு இவைகளை நீங்கள் எப்பொழுதும் நினைத்துக்கொள்ள ஏதுவுண்டாயிருக்கும்படி பிரயத்தனம்பண்ணுவேன்.

Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

நாங்கள் தந்திரமான கட்டுக்கதைகளைப் பின்பற்றினவர்களாக அல்ல, அவருடைய மகத்துவத்தைக் கண்ணாரக் கண்டவர்களாகவே நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் வல்லமையையும் வருகையையும் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தோம்.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

இவர் என்னுடைய நேசகுமாரன், இவரிடத்தில் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லுகிற சத்தம் உன்னதமான மகிமையிலிருந்து அவருக்கு உண்டாகி, பிதாவாகிய தேவனால் அவர் கனத்தையும் மகிமையையும் பெற்றபோது,

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

அவரோடேகூட நாங்கள் பரிசுத்த பருவதத்திலிருக்கையில், வானத்திலிருந்து பிறந்த அந்தச் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டோம்.

And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

அதிக உறுதியான தீர்க்கதரிசன வசனமும் நமக்கு உண்டு; பொழுது விடிந்து விடிவெள்ளி உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் உதிக்குமளவும் இருளுள்ள ஸ்தலத்தில் பிரகாசிக்கிற விளக்கைப்போன்ற அவ்வசனத்தைக் கவனித்திருப்பது நலமாயிருக்கும்.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

வேதத்திலுள்ள எந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசனமும் சுயதோற்றமான பொருளையுடையதாயிராதென்று நீங்கள் முந்தி அறியவேண்டியது.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

தீர்க்கதரிசனமானது ஒருகாலத்திலும் மனுஷருடைய சித்தத்தினாலே உண்டாகவில்லை; தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்த மனுஷர்கள் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே ஏவப்பட்டுப் பேசினார்கள்.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2பேதுரு அத்தியாயம் 2

கள்ளத்தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே இருந்தார்கள், அப்படியே உங்களுக்குள்ளும் கள்ளப்போதகர்கள் இருப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் கேட்டுக்கேதுவான வேதப்புரட்டுகளைத் தந்திரமாய் நுழையப்பண்ணி, தங்களைக் கிரயத்துக்குக் கொண்ட ஆண்டவரை மறுதலித்து, தங்களுக்குத் தீவிரமான அழிவை வருவித்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

அவர்களுடைய கெட்ட நடக்கைகளை அநேகர் பின்பற்றுவார்கள்; அவர்கள் நிமித்தம் சத்தியமார்க்கம் தூஷிக்கப்படும்.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

பொருளாசாயுடையவர்களாய், தந்திரமான வார்த்தைகளால் உங்களைத் தங்களுக்கு ஆதாயமாக வசப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்; பூர்வகாலமுதல் அவர்களுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட ஆக்கினை அயர்ந்திராது, அவர்களுடைய அழிவு உறங்காது.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

பாவஞ்செய்த தூதர்களை தேவன் தப்பவிடாமல், அந்தகாரச் சங்கிலிகளினாலே கட்டி நரகத்திலே தள்ளி நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து;

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

பூர்வ உலகத்தையும் தப்பவிடாமல், நீதியைப் பிரசங்கித்தவனாகிய நோவா முதலான எட்டுப்பேரைக் காப்பாற்றி, அவபக்தியுள்ளவர்கள் நிறைந்த உலகத்தின்மேல் ஜலப்பிரளயத்தை வரப்பண்ணி;

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

சோதோம் கொமோரா என்னும் பட்டணங்களையும் சாம்பலாக்கிக் கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டு, ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்து, பிற்காலத்திலே அவபக்தியாய் நடப்பவர்களுக்கு அவைகளைத் திருஷ்டாந்தமாக வைத்து;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

அக்கிரமக்காரருக்குள் வாசமாயிருக்கையில் அவர்களுடைய காமவிகார நடக்கையால் வருத்தப்பட்டு,

And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

நாள்தோறும் அவர்களுடைய அக்கிரமக்கிரியைகளைக் கண்டு கேட்டு நீதியுள்ள தன்னுடைய இருதயத்தில் வாதிக்கப்பட்ட நீதிமானாகிய லோத்தை அவர் இரட்சித்திருக்க;

For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

கர்த்தர் தேவபக்தியுள்ளவர்களைச் சோதனையினின்று இரட்சிக்கவும், அக்கிரமக்காரரை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளானவர்களாக நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளுக்கு வைக்கவும் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

விசேஷமாக அசுத்த இச்சையோடே மாம்சத்திற்கேற்றபடி நடந்து, கர்த்தத்துவத்தை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறவர்களை அப்படிச் செய்வார். இவர்கள் துணிகரக்காரர், அகங்காரிகள், மகத்துவங்களைத் தூஷிக்க அஞ்சாதவர்கள்.

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

அதிக பெலனையும் வல்லமையையுமுடைய தேவதூதர்கள் முதலாய்க் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவர்களைத் தூஷணமாய்க் குற்றப்படுத்தமாட்டார்களே.

Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

இவர்களோ பிடிபட்டழிக்கப்படுவதற்கு உண்டான புத்தியற்ற மிருகஜீவன்களைப்போலத் தங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதவைகளைத் தூஷித்து, தங்கள் கேட்டிலே கெட்டழிந்து, அநீதத்தின் பலனை அடைவார்கள்.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

இவர்கள் ஒருநாள் வாழ்வை இன்பமென்றெண்ணி, கறைகளும் இலச்சைகளுமாயிருந்து; உங்களோடே விருந்துண்கையில் தங்கள் வஞ்சனைகளில் உல்லாசமாய் வாழ்கிறவர்கள்;

And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

விபசாரமயக்கத்தால் நிறைந்தவைகளும், பாவத்தைவிட்டோயாதவைகளுமாயிருக்கிற கண்களையுடையவர்கள்; உறுதியில்லாத ஆத்துமாக்களைத் தந்திரமாய்ப் பிடித்து, பொருளாசைகளில் பழகின இருதயத்தையுடைய சாபத்தின் பிள்ளைகள்.

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

செம்மையான வழியைவிட்டுத் தப்பி நடந்து, பேயோரின் குமாரனாகிய பிலேயாமின் வழியைப் பின்பற்றிப்போனவர்கள்; அவன் அநீதத்தின் கூலியை விரும்பி,

Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

தன்னுடைய அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தம். கடிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டான்; பேசாத மிருகம் மனுஷர் பேச்சைப் பேசித் தீர்க்கதரிசியினுடைய மதிகேட்டைத் தடுத்தது.

But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

இவர்கள் தண்ணீரில்லாத கிணறுகளும், சுழல்காற்றினால் அடியுண்டோடுகிற மேகங்களுமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள காரிருளே இவர்களுக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

வஞ்சகமாய் நடக்கிறவர்களிடத்திலிருந்து அரிதாய்த் தப்பினவர்களிடத்தில் இவர்கள் அகந்தையான வீண்வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசி, மாம்ச இச்சைகளினாலும் காமவிகாரங்களினாலும் அவர்களைத் தந்திரமாய்ப் பிடிக்கிறார்கள்.

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

தாங்களே கேட்டுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தும், அவர்களுக்குச் சுயாதீனத்தை வாக்குத்தத்தம் பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; எதினால் ஒருவன் ஜெயிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறானோ அதற்கு அவன் அடிமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறானே.

While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகருமாயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை அறிகிற அறிவினாலே உலகத்தின் அசுத்தங்களுக்குத் தப்பினவர்கள் மறுபடியும் அவைகளில் சிக்கிக்கொண்டு ஜெயிக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்களுடைய பின்னிலைமை முன்னிலைமையிலும் கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

அவர்கள் நீதியின் மார்க்கத்தை அறிந்தபின்பு தங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட பரிசுத்த கற்பனையை விட்டு விலகுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதை அறியாதிருந்தார்களானால் அவர்களுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

நாய் தான் கக்கினதைத் தின்னவும், கழுவப்பட்ட பன்றி சேற்றிலே புரளவும் திரும்பினது என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட மெய்யான பழமொழியின்படியே அவர்களுக்குச் சம்பவித்தது.

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

2பேதுரு அத்தியாயம் 3

பிரியமானவர்களே, இந்த இரண்டாம் நிருபத்தை இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு எழுதுகிறேன்.

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

பரிசுத்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளால் முன் சொல்லப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளையும், இரட்சகராயிருக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய அப்போஸ்தலராகிய எங்களுடைய கட்டளைகளையும் நீங்கள் நினைவுகூரும்படி இந்த நிருபங்களினால் உங்கள் உண்மையான மனதை நினைப்பூட்டி எழுப்புகிறேன்.

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

முதலாவது நீங்கள் அறியவேண்டியது என்னவெனில்: கடைசி நாட்களில் பரியாசக்காரர் வந்து, தங்கள் சுய இச்சைகளின்படியே நடந்து,

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

அவர் வருவார் என்று சொல்லுகிற வாக்குத்தத்தம் எங்கே? பிதாக்கள் நித்திரையடைந்தபின்பு சகலமும் சிருஷ்டிப்பின்தோற்றமுதல் இருந்தவிதமாயிருக்கிறதே என்று சொல்லுவார்கள்.

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

பூர்வகாலத்தில் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையினாலே வானங்களும், ஜலத்தினின்று தோன்றி ஜலத்தினாலே நிலைகொண்டிருக்கிற பூமியும் உண்டாயினவென்பதையும்,

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

அப்பொழுது இருந்த உலகம் ஜலப்பிரளயத்தினாலே அழிந்ததென்பதையும் மனதார அறியாமலிருக்கிறார்கள்.

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

இப்பொழுது இருக்கிற வானங்களும் பூமியும் அந்த வார்த்தைகளினாலேயே அக்கினிக்கு இரையாக வைக்கப்பட்டு, தேவபக்தியில்லாதவர்கள் நியாயந்தீர்க்கப்பட்டு அழிந்துபோகும் நாள்வரைக்கும் காக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

பிரியமானவர்களே, கர்த்தருக்கு ஒருநாள் ஆயிரம் வருஷம்போலவும், ஆயிரம் வருஷம் ஒருநாள்போலவும் இருக்கிறதென்கிற இந்த ஒரு காரியத்தை நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கவேண்டாம்.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

தாமதிக்கிறார் என்று சிலர் எண்ணுகிறபடி, கர்த்தர் தமது வாக்குத்தத்தத்தைக்குறித்துத் தாமதமாயிராமல்; ஒருவரும் கெட்டுப்போகாமல் எல்லாரும் மனந்திரும்பவேண்டுமென்று விரும்பி, நம்மேல் நீடிய பொறுமையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

கர்த்தருடைய நாள் இரவிலே திருடன் வருகிறவிதமாய் வரும்; அப்பொழுது வானங்கள் மடமட என்று அகன்றுபோகும், பூதங்கள் வெந்து உருகிப்போகும், பூமியும் அதிலுள்ள கிரியைகளும் எரிந்து அழிந்துபோகும்.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

இப்படி இவைகளெல்லாம் அழிந்து போகிறதாயிருக்கிறபடியால் நீங்கள் எப்படிப்பட்ட பரிசுத்த நடக்கையும் தேவபக்தியும் உள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கவேண்டும்!

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

தேவனுடைய நாள் சீக்கிரமாய் வரும்படிக்கு மிகுந்த ஆவலோடே காத்திருங்கள்; அந்த நாளில் வானங்கள் வெந்து அழிந்து, பூதங்கள் எரிந்து உருகிப்போகும்.

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

அவருடைய வாக்குத்தத்தத்தின்படியே நீதி வாசமாயிருக்கும் புதிய வானங்களும் புதிய பூமியும் உண்டாகுமென்று காத்திருக்கிறோம்.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

ஆகையால், பிரியமானவர்களே இவைகள் வரக் காத்திருக்கிற நீங்கள் கறையற்றவர்களும் பிழையில்லாதவர்களுமாய்ச் சமாதானத்தோடே அவர் சந்நிதியில் காணப்படும்படி ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருங்கள்.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

மேலும் நம்முடைய கர்த்தரின் நீடிய பொறுமையை இரட்சிப்பென்று எண்ணுங்கள்; நமக்குப் பிரியமான சகோதரனாகிய பவுலும் தனக்கு அருளப்பட்ட ஞானத்தினாலே இப்படியே உங்களுக்கு எழுதியிருக்கிறான்;

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

எல்லா நிருபங்களிலும் இவைகளைக் குறித்துப் பேசியிருக்கிறான்; அவன் சொன்னவைகளில் சில காரியங்கள் அறிகிறதற்கு அரிதாயிருக்கிறது; கல்லாதவர்களும் உறுதியில்லாதவர்களும் மற்ற வேதவாக்கியங்களைப் புரட்டுகிறதுபோலத் தங்களுக்குக் கேடுவரத்தக்கதாக இவைகளையும் புரட்டுகிறார்கள்.

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

ஆதலால் பிரியமானவர்களே, இவைகளை முன்னமே நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறபடியால், அக்கிரமக்காரருடைய வஞ்சகத்திலே நீங்கள் இழுப்புண்டு உங்கள் உறுதியிலிருந்து விலகி விழுந்துபோகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து,

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

நம்முடைய கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகருமாகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையிலும் அவரை அறிகிற அறிவிலும் வளருங்கள். அவருக்கு இப்பொழுதும் என்றென்றைக்கும் மகிமையுண்டாவதாக. ஆமென்.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
