2இராஜாக்கள் அத்தியாயம் 24

அவன் நாட்களிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வந்தான்; யோயாக்கீம் மூன்று வருஷம் அவனைச் சேவித்து, பின்பு அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்பண்ணினான்.

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் கல்தேயரின் தண்டுகளையும், சீரியரின் தண்டுகளையும், மோவாபியரின் தண்டுகளையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தண்டுகளையும் அவன்மேல் வரவிட்டார்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே அவர் அவைகளை யூதாவை அழிக்கும்படிக்கு வரவிட்டார்.

And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.

மனாசே தன் எல்லாச் செய்கைகளினாலும் செய்த பாவங்களினிமித்தம் யூதாவைத் தமது சமுகத்தை விட்டு அகற்றும்படி கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையினால் அப்படி நடந்தது.

Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;

அவன் சிந்தின குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்திற்காகவும் எருசலேமைக் குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தால் நிரப்பினதற்காகவும் கர்த்தர் மன்னிக்கச் சித்தமில்லாதிருந்தார்.

And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.

யோயாக்கீமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

யோயாக்கீம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீன் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

எகிப்தின் ராஜா அப்புறம் தன் தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வரவில்லை; எகிப்தின் நதிதுவக்கி ஐபிராத்து நதிமட்டும் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்கு இருந்த யாவையும் பாபிலோன் ராஜா பிடித்திருந்தான்.

And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.

யோயாக்கீன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது பதினெட்டு வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே மூன்று மாதம் அரசாண்டான்; எருசலேம் ஊரானாகிய எல்நாத்தானின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் நெகுஸ்தாள்.

Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

அவன் தன் தகப்பன் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.

அக்காலத்திலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் சேவகர் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; நகரம் முற்றிக்கை போடப்பட்டது.

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருடைய சேவகர் நகரத்தை முற்றிக்கை போடுகையில் அவன் தானும் அதற்கு விரோதமாய் வந்தான்.

And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.

அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனும், அவன் தாயும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரும், அவன் பிரபுக்களும், பிரதானிகளும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அவனைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா தன் ஆளுகையின் எட்டாம் வருஷத்திலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.

And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.

அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் சகல பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த பொன் பணிமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம் கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே உடைத்துப்போட்டு,

And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.

எருசலேமியர் அனைவரும் சகல பிரபுக்களும் சகல பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுமாகிய பதினாயிரம்பேரையும், சகல தச்சரையும் கொல்லரையும் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்; தேசத்தில் ஏழை ஜனங்களே அல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

அவன் யோயாக்கீனையும், ராஜாவின் தாயையும், ராஜாவின் ஸ்திரீகளையும், அவன் பிரதானிகளையும், தேசத்தின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளையும் எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

இப்படியே பாபிலோன் ராஜா பராக்கிரமசாலிகளான மனுஷராகிய ஏழாயிரம்பேரையும், தச்சரும் கொல்லருமாகிய ஆயிரம்பேரையும், யுத்தம்பண்ணத்தக்க பலசாலிகளையும் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

அவனுக்குப் பதிலாகப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா அவன் சிறிய தகப்பனாகிய மத்தனியாவை ராஜாவாக வைத்து, அவனுக்குச் சிதேக்கியா என்று மறுபேரிட்டான்.

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, பதினொருவருஷம் எருசலேமிலே அரசாண்டான்; லிப்னா ஊரானாகிய எரேமியாவின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் அமுத்தாள்.

Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

யோயாக்கீம் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் அவனும் கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

எருசலேமையும் யூதாவையும் கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய சமுகத்தைவிட்டு அகற்றித் தீருமளவும், அவைகளின்மேலுள்ள அவருடைய கோபத்தினால் இப்படி நடந்ததும் அல்லாமல், சிதேக்கியா பாபிலோனிலே ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகமும்பண்ணினான்.

For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

அவன் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணும் ஒன்பதாம் வருஷம் பத்தாம் மாதம் பத்தாந்தேதியிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரும் அவனுடைய எல்லா இராணுவமும் எருசலேமுக்கு விரோதமாய் வந்து, அதற்கு எதிரே பாளயமிறங்கி, சுற்றிலும் அதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளங்களைக் கட்டினார்கள்.

And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.

அப்படியே சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவின் பதினோராம் வருஷமட்டும் நகரம் முற்றிக்கை போடப்பட்டிருந்தது.

And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

நாலாம் மாதம் ஒன்பதாந்தேதியிலே பஞ்சம் நகரத்திலே அதிகரித்து, தேசத்தின் ஜனத்திற்கு ஆகாரம் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று; நகரத்தின் மதிலில் திறப்பு கண்டது.

And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

அப்பொழுது கல்தேயர் நகரத்தைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கையில், யுத்தமனுஷர் எல்லாரும் இராத்திரிகாலத்தில் ராஜாவுடைய தோட்டத்தின் வழியாய் இரண்டு மதில்களுக்கு நடுவான வாசலால் தப்பி, அவர்களும் ராஜாவுமாய் சமனான பூமியை நோக்கி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain.

கல்தேயரின் இராணுவத்தார் ராஜாவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து எரிகோவின் சமனான பூமியில் அவனைப் பிடித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய இராணுவமெல்லாம் அவனை விட்டுச் சிதறிப்போயிற்று.

And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.

அவர்கள் ராஜாவைப் பிடித்து, அவனை ரிப்லாவிலிருக்கிற பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவனை நியாயந்தீர்த்து,

So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.

சிதேக்கியாவின் குமாரரை அவன் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக வெட்டி, சிதேக்கியாவின் கண்களைக் குருடாக்கி, அவனுக்கு இரண்டு வெண்கல விலங்குகளைப் போட்டு, அவனைப் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.

And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.

ஐந்தாம் மாதம் ஏழாந்தேதியிலே நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் என்னும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் பத்தொன்பதாம் வருஷத்திலே, பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய நெபுசராதான் என்னும் காவல் சேனாபதி எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து,

And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:

கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும், ராஜாவின் அரமனையையும், எருசலேமின் சகல கட்டடங்களையும், பெரிய வீடுகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்துவிட்டான்.

And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire.

காவல் சேனாபதியோடிருந்த கல்தேயரின் இராணுவத்தாரெல்லாரும் எருசலேமைச் சுற்றிலும் இருந்த அலங்கங்களை இடித்துப்போட்டார்கள்.

And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.

நகரத்தில் மீதியான மற்ற ஜனத்தையும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் வசமாக ஓடிவந்துவிட்டவர்களையும், மற்ற ஜனக்கூட்டத்தையும், காவல் சேனாபதியாகிய நெபுசராதான் சிறைகளாகக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away.

தேசத்தில் ஏழையான சிலரைத் திராட்சத்தோட்டக்காரராகவும் பயிரிடுங்குடிகளாகவும் விட்டிருந்தான்.

But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.

கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலிருந்த வெண்கலத் தூண்களையும், அதிலிருந்த ஆதாரங்களையும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலிருந்த வெண்கலக் கடல்தொட்டியையும், கல்தேயர் உடைத்துப்போட்டு, அவைகளின் வெண்கலத்தைப் பாபிலோனுக்கு எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.

And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.

செப்புச்சட்டிகளையும், சாம்பல் பாத்திரங்களையும், கத்திகளையும், தூபகலசங்களையும், ஆராதனைக்கடுத்த சகல வெண்கலப் பணிமுட்டுகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

சுத்தப் பொன்னும் சுத்த வெள்ளியுமான தூபகலசங்களையும் கலங்களையும் காவல் சேனாபதி எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்.

And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.

சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்காகப் பண்ணுவித்த இரண்டு தூண்களும், ஒரு கடல்தொட்டியும் ஆதாரங்களுமாகிய அந்தச் சகல பணிமுட்டுகளுடைய வெண்கலத்திற்கும் நிறையில்லை.

The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

ஒரு தூணின் உயரம் பதினெட்டு முழமாயிருந்தது; அதின்மேல் அதற்கு மூன்றுமுழ உயரமான வெண்கலத் தலைப்பும் உண்டாயிருந்தது; குமிழிலே சுற்றிலும் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்த பின்னலும் மாதளம்பழங்களும் எல்லாம் வெண்கலமாயிருந்தது; மற்றத் தூணும் அதின் பின்னலும் அதைப்போல் இருந்தது.

The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work.

காவல் சேனாபதி பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய செராயாவையும், இரண்டாம் ஆசாரியனாகிய செப்பனியாவையும், வாசல்காக்கும் மூன்று காவற்காரரையும் பிடித்தான்.

And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

நகரத்திலே அவன் யுத்தமனுஷரின் விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய பிரதானி ஒருவனையும், ராஜாவின் மந்திரிகளிலே நகரத்தில் அகப்பட்ட ஐந்துபேரையும், தேசத்தின் ஜனத்தைச் சேவகம் எழுதுகிற தலைவனான இராணுவச்சம்பிரதியையும், தேசஜனத்திலே நகரத்தில் அகப்பட்ட அறுபதுபேரையும் பிடித்தான்.

And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:

அவர்களைக் காவல் சேனாபதியாகிய நெபுசராதான் பிடித்து, ரிப்லாவில் இருக்கிற பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

And Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:

அவர்களைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா ஆமாத் தேசத்தின் பட்டணமான ரிப்லாவிலே வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; இப்படியே யூதா ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் தேசத்திலிருந்து சிறையிருப்புக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.

And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.

பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார், யூதேயாதேசத்தில் மீதியாக வைத்த ஜனத்தின்மேல், சாப்பானின் குமாரனாகிய அகீக்காமின் மகன் கெதலியாவை அதிகாரியாக வைத்தான்.

And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

பாபிலோன் ராஜா கெதலியாவை அதிகாரியாக வைத்ததை, சகல இராணுவச் சேர்வைக்காரரும் அவர்களுடைய மனுஷரும் கேட்டபோது, அவர்கள் மிஸ்பாவில் இருக்கிற கெதலியாவினிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் யாரெனில், நெத்தனியாவின் குமாரன் இஸ்மவேலும், கரேயாவின் குமாரன் யோகனானும், நெத்தோப்பாத்தியனாகிய தன்கூமேத்தின் குமாரன் செராயாவும், மாகாத்தியனான ஒருவனுடைய குமாரன் யசனியாவும் அவர்கள் மனுஷருமே.

And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

அப்பொழுது கெதலியா அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் மனுஷருக்கும் ஆணையிட்டு: நீங்கள் கல்தேயரைச் சேவிக்கப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; தேசத்திலிருந்து பாபிலோன் ராஜாவைச் சேவியுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு நன்மை உண்டாகும் என்றான்.

And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.

ஏழாம் மாதத்திலே, ராஜவம்சத்திலே பிறந்த எலிசாமாவின் குமாரனாகிய நெத்தனியாவின் குமாரன் இஸ்மவேல் பத்து மனுஷரோடேகூட வந்து, கெதலியாவையும், அவனோடே மிஸ்பாவிலிருந்த யூதரையும், கல்தேயரையும் வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.

But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.

அப்பொழுது சிறியோரும் பெரியோருமாகிய ஜனங்கள் யாவரும் சேனாபதிகளும் கல்தேயருக்குப் பயந்ததினாலே எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு எகிப்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.

And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.

யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனுடைய சிறையிருப்பின் முப்பத்தேழாம் வருஷம் பன்னிரண்டாம் மாதம் இருபத்தேழாந்தேதியிலே, ஏவில் மெரொதாக் என்னும் பாபிலோன் ராஜா, தான் ராஜாவான வருஷத்திலே, யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனைச் சிறைச்சாலையிலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணி, அவன் தலையை உயர்த்தி,

And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;

அவனோடே அன்பாய்ப் பேசி, அவனுடைய சிங்காசனத்தைத் தன்னோடே பாபிலோனிலிருந்த ராஜாக்களின் சிங்காசனங்களுக்கு உயரமாக வைத்து,

And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon;

அவனுடைய சிறைச்சாலை வஸ்திரங்களை மாற்றினான்; அவன் உயிரோடிருந்த சகல நாளும் நித்தம் தனக்கு முன்பாகப் போஜனம்பண்ணும்படி செய்தான்.

And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.

அவன் உயிரோடிருந்த நாளெல்லாம் அவனுடைய செலவுக்காக, ராஜாவினால் கட்டளையான அனுதினத் திட்டத்தின்படி, அனுதினமும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுவந்தது.

And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 11

விசுவாசமானது நம்பப்படுகிறவைகளின் உறுதியும், காணப்படாதவைகளின் நிச்சயமுமாயிருக்கிறது.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

அதினாலே முன்னோர்கள் நற்சாட்சி பெற்றார்கள்.

For by it the elders obtained a good report.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே நாம் உலகங்கள் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையினால் உண்டாக்கப்பட்டதென்றும், இவ்விதமாய், காணப்படுகிறவைகள் தோன்றப்படுகிறவைகளால் உண்டாகவில்லையென்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே ஆபேல் காயீனுடைய பலியிலும் மேன்மையான பலியை தேவனுக்குச் செலுத்தினான்; அதினாலே அவன் நீதிமானென்று சாட்சிபெற்றான்; அவனுடைய காணிக்கைகளைக் குறித்து தேவனே சாட்சிகொடுத்தார்; அவன் மரித்தும் இன்னும் பேசுகிறான்.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே ஏனோக்கு மரணத்தைக் காணாதபடிக்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டான்; தேவன் அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டபடியினாலே, அவன் காணப்படாமற்போனான்; அவன் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமானவனென்று அவன் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படுவதற்கு முன்னமே சாட்சி பெற்றான்.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

விசுவாசமில்லாமல் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமாயிருப்பது கூடாதகாரியம்; ஏனென்றால், தேவனிடத்தில் சேருகிறவன் அவர் உண்டென்றும், அவர் தம்மைத் தேடுகிறவர்களுக்குப் பலன் அளிக்கிறவரென்றும் விசுவாசிக்கவேண்டும்.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே நோவா தற்காலத்திலே காணாதவைகளைக்குறித்து தேவ எச்சரிப்புப்பெற்று, பயபக்தியுள்ளவனாகி, தன் குடும்பத்தை இரட்சிப்பதற்குப் பேழையை உண்டுபண்ணினான்; அதினாலே அவன் உலகம் ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளானதென்று தீர்த்து, விசுவாசத்தினாலுண்டாகும் நீதிக்குச் சுதந்தரவாளியானான்.

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே ஆபிரகாம் தான் சுதந்தரமாகப் பெறப்போகிற இடத்திற்குப் போகும்படி அழைக்கப்பட்டபோது, கீழ்ப்படிந்து, தான் போகும் இடம் இன்னதென்று அறியாமல் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே அவன் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்ட தேசத்திலே பரதேசியைப்போல சஞ்சரித்து, அந்த வாக்குத்தத்தத்திற்கு உடன் சுதந்தரராகிய ஈசாக்கோடும் யாக்கோபோடும் கூடாரங்களிலே குடியிருந்தான்;

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

ஏனெனில், தேவன் தாமே கட்டி உண்டாக்கின அஸ்திபாரங்களுள்ள நகரத்துக்கு அவன் காத்திருந்தான்.

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே சாராளும் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினவர் உண்மையுள்ளவரென்றெண்ணி, கர்ப்பந்தரிக்கப் பெலனடைந்து, வயதுசென்றவளாயிருந்தும் பிள்ளைபெற்றாள்.

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

ஆனபடியால், சரீரஞ்செத்தவனென்று எண்ணத்தகும் ஒருவனாலே, வானத்திலுள்ள பெருக்கமான நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலவும் கடற்கரையிலுள்ள எண்ணிறந்த மணலைப்போலவும், மிகுந்த ஜனங்கள் பிறந்தார்கள்.

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

இவர்களெல்லாரும், வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டவைகளை அடையாமல், தூரத்திலே அவைகளைக் கண்டு, நம்பி அணைத்துக்கொண்டு, பூமியின்மேல் தங்களை அந்நியரும் பரதேசிகளும் என்று அறிக்கையிட்டு, விசுவாசத்தோடே மரித்தார்கள்.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

இப்படி அறிக்கையிடுகிறவர்கள் சுயதேசத்தை நாடிப்போகிறோம் என்று தெரியப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

தாங்கள் விட்டுவந்த தேசத்தை நினைத்தார்களானால், அதற்குத் திரும்பிப்போவதற்கு அவர்களுக்குச் சமயங்கிடைத்திருக்குமே.

And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

அதையல்ல, அதிலும் மேன்மையான பரமதேசத்தையே விரும்பினார்கள்; ஆகையால் தேவன் அவர்களுடைய தேவனென்னப்பட வெட்கப்படுகிறதில்லை; அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு நகரத்தை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணினாரே.

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

மேலும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே ஆபிரகாம் தான் சோதிக்கப்பட்டபோது ஈசாக்கைப் பலியாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்.

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

ஈசாக்கினிடத்தில் உன் சந்ததி விளங்கும் என்று அவனோடே சொல்லப்பட்டிருந்ததே; இப்படிப்பட்ட வாகுத்தத்தங்களைப் பெற்றவன், மரித்தோரிலிருந்துமெழுப்ப தேவன் வல்லவராயிருக்கிறாரென்றெண்ணி,

Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

தனக்கு ஒரேபேறானவனையே பலியாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்; மரித்தோரிலிருந்து அவனை பாவனையாகத் திரும்பவும் பெற்றுக்கொண்டான்.

Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே ஈசாக்கு வருங்காரியங்களைக்குறித்து யாக்கோபையும் ஏசாவையும் ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே யாக்கோபு தன் மரணகாலத்தில் யோசேப்பினுடைய குமாரர் இருவரையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து, தன் கோலின் முனையிலே சாய்ந்து தொழுதுகொண்டான்.

By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே யோசேப்பு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்து தேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்படுவார்களென்பதைப்பற்றித் தன் அந்தியகாலத்தில் பேசி, தன் எலும்புகளைக்குறித்துக் கட்டளைகொடுத்தான்.

By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

மோசே பிறந்தபோது அவனுடைய தாய்தகப்பன்மார் அவனை அழகுள்ள பிள்ளையென்று கண்டு, விசுவாசத்தினாலே, ராஜாவினுடைய கட்டளைக்குப் பயப்படாமல் அவனை மூன்றுமாதம் ஒளித்துவைத்தார்கள்.

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே மோசே தான் பெரியவனானபோது பார்வோனுடைய குமாரத்தியின் மகன் என்னப்படுவதை வெறுத்து,

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

அநித்தியமான பாவசந்தோஷங்களை அநுபவிப்பதைப்பார்க்கிலும் தேவனுடைய ஜனங்களோடே துன்பத்தை அநுபவிப்பதையே தெரிந்துகொண்டு,

Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

இனிவரும் பலன்மேல் நோக்கமாயிருந்து, எகிப்திலுள்ள பொக்கிஷங்களிலும் கிறிஸ்துவினிமித்தம் வரும் நிந்தையை அதிக பாக்கியமென்று எண்ணினான்.

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே அவன் அதரிசனமானவரைத் தரிசிக்கிறதுபோல உறுதியாயிருந்து, ராஜாவின் கோபத்துக்குப் பயப்படாமல் எகிப்தைவிட்டுப் போனான்.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே, முதற்பேறானவைகளைச் சங்கரிக்கிறவன் இஸ்ரவேலரைத் தொடாதபடிக்கு, அவன் பஸ்காவையும் இரத்தம் பூசுதலாகிய நியமத்தையும் ஆசரித்தான்.

Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே அவர்கள் சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தை உலர்ந்த தரையைக் கடந்துபோவதுபோலக் கடந்து போனார்கள்; எகிப்தியர் அப்படிச் செய்யத்துணிந்து அமிழ்ந்துபோனார்கள்.

By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே எரிகோ பட்டணத்தின் மதில்கள் ஏழுநாள் சுற்றிவரப்பட்டு விழுந்தது.

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே ராகாப் என்னும் வேசி வேவுகாரரைச் சமாதானத்தோடே ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களோடேகூடச் சேதமாகாதிருந்தாள்.

By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

பின்னும் நான் என்ன சொல்லுவேன்? கிதியோன், பாராக், சிம்சோன், யெப்தா, தாவீது, சாமுவேல் என்பவர்களையும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையுங்குறித்து நான் விவரஞ்சொல்லவேண்டுமானால் காலம்போதாது.

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

விசுவாசத்தினாலே அவர்கள் ராஜ்யங்களை ஜெயித்தார்கள், நீதியை நடப்பித்தார்கள், வாக்குத்தத்தங்களைப் பெற்றார்கள், சிங்கங்களின் வாய்களை அடைத்தார்கள்,

Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

அக்கினியின் உக்கிரத்தை அவித்தார்கள், பட்டயக்கருக்குக்குத் தப்பினார்கள், பலவீனத்தில் பலன் கொண்டார்கள்; யுத்தத்தில் வல்லவர்களானார்கள், அந்நியருடைய சேனைகளை முறியடித்தார்கள்.

Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

ஸ்திரீகள் சாகக்கொடுத்த தங்களுடையவர்களை உயிரோடெழுந்திருக்கப் பெற்றார்கள்; வேறுசிலர் மேன்மையான உயிர்த்தெழுதலை அடையும்படிக்கு, விடுதலைபெறச் சம்மதியாமல், வாதிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்;

Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

வேறு சிலர் நிந்தைகளையும் அடிகளையும் கட்டுகளையும் காவலையும் அநுபவித்தார்கள்;

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

கல்லெறியுண்டார்கள், வாளால் அறுப்புண்டார்கள், பரீட்சைபார்க்கப்பட்டார்கள், பட்டயத்தினாலே வெட்டப்பட்டு மரித்தார்கள், செம்மறியாட்டுத் தோல்களையும் வெள்ளாட்டுத் தோல்களையும் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு திரிந்து, குறைவையும் உபத்திரவத்தையும் துன்பத்தையும் அநுபவித்தார்கள்;

They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

உலகம் அவர்களுக்குப் பாத்திரமாயிருக்கவில்லை; அவர்கள் வனாந்தரங்களிலேயும் மலைகளிலேயும் குகைகளிலேயும் பூமியின் வெடிப்புகளிலேயும் சிதறுண்டு அலைந்தார்கள்.

Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

இவர்களெல்லாரும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே நற்சாட்சிபெற்றும், வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டதை அடையாமற்போனார்கள்.

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

அவர்கள் நம்மையல்லாமல் பூரணராகாதபடிக்கு விசேஷித்த நன்மையானதொன்றை தேவன் நமக்கென்று முன்னதாக நியமித்திருந்தார்.

God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
