எண்ணாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 32

ரூபன் புத்திரருக்கும் காத் புத்திரருக்கும் ஆடுமாடுகள் மிகவும் திரளாயிருந்தது; அவர்கள் யாசேர் தேசத்தையும் கீலேயாத் தேசத்தையும் பார்த்தபோது, அது ஆடுமாடுகளுக்குத் தகுந்த இடமென்று கண்டார்கள்.

Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;

ஆகையால் ரூபன் புத்திரரும் காத் புத்திரரும் வந்து, மோசேயையும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரையும் சபையின் பிரபுக்களையும் நோக்கி:

The children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spake unto Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,

கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் சபைக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடித்த அதரோத், தீபோன், யாசேர், நிம்ரா, எஸ்போன், எலெயாலெ, சேபாம், நேபோ, பெயோன் என்னும் பட்டணங்களைச் சேர்ந்த நாடானது ஆடுமாடுகளுக்குத் தகுந்த இடம்.

Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,

உமது அடியாருக்கு ஆடுமாடுகள் உண்டு.

Even the country which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle:

உம்முடைய கண்களில் எங்களுக்குத் தயை கிடைத்ததானால், எங்களை யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அப்புறம் கடந்துபோகப்பண்ணீராக; இந்த நாட்டை உமது அடியாருக்குக் காணியாட்சியாகக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.

Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.

அப்பொழுது மோசே காத் புத்திரரையும் ரூபன் புத்திரரையும் நோக்கி: உங்கள் சகோதரர் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போகையில், நீங்கள் இங்கே இருப்பீர்களோ?

And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?

கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திற்கு அவர்கள் போகாதபடிக்கு, நீங்கள் அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைத் திடனற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறதென்ன?

And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?

அந்த தேசத்தைப் பார்ப்பதற்கு நான் உங்கள் பிதாக்களைக் காதேஸ்பர்னேயாவிலிருந்து அனுப்பினபோது அவர்களும் இப்படியே செய்தார்கள்.

Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadeshbarnea to see the land.

அவர்கள் எஸ்கோல் பள்ளத்தாக்கு மட்டும் போய், அத்தேசத்தைப் பார்த்து வந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்திற்குப் போகாதபடிக்கு அவர்கள் இருதயத்தைத் திடனற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணினார்கள்.

For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.

அதினால் கர்த்தர் அந்நாழிலே கோபம் மூண்டவராகி:

And the LORD'S anger was kindled the same time, and he sware, saying,

உத்தமமாய் என்னைப் பின்பற்றின கேனேசியனான எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரன் காலேபும், நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவும் தவிர,

Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்தவர்களில் இருபது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட மனிதர்களில் ஒருவரும் என்னை உத்தமமாய்ப் பின்பற்றாதபடியால், அவர்கள் நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று ஆணையிட்டிருக்கிறார்.

Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD.

அப்படியே கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் இஸ்ரவேலின் மேல் மூண்டது; கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்த அந்தச் சந்ததியெல்லாம் நிர்மூலமாகுமட்டும் அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே நாற்பது வருஷம் அலையப்பண்ணினார்.

And the LORD'S anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.

இப்பொழுதும் இதோ இஸ்ரவேலர் மேலிருக்கும் கர்த்தருடைய கோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தை இன்னும் அதிகரிக்கப்பண்ணும்படி, நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிதாக்களின் ஸ்தானத்திலே பாவமுள்ள பெருங்கூட்டமாய் எழும்பியிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.

நீங்கள் அவரைவிட்டுப் பின்வாங்கினால், அவர் இன்னும் அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்தில் இருக்கப்பண்ணுவார்; இப்படி நீங்கள் இந்த ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் அழியப்பண்ணுவீர்கள் என்றான்.

For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவன் சமீபத்தில் வந்து: எங்கள் ஆடுமாடுகளுக்காகத் தொழுவங்களையும், எங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பட்டணங்களையும் இங்கே கட்டுவோம்.

And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:

நாங்களோ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை அவர்கள் ஸ்தானத்திலே கொண்டுபோய்ச் சேர்க்குமளவும், யுத்தசன்னத்தராய்த் தீவிரத்தோடே அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நடப்போம்; எங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் இத்தேசத்துக் குடிகளினிமித்தம் அரணான பட்டணங்களிலே குடியிருக்கக் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறோம்.

But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் யாவரும் தங்கள்தங்கள் சுதந்தரத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும் வரைக்கும், நாங்கள் எங்கள் வீடுகளுக்குத் திரும்புவதில்லை.

We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.

யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் கிழக்கே எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரம் உண்டானபடியினாலே, நாங்கள் அவர்களோடேகூட யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலும், அதற்கு அப்புறத்திலும் சுதந்தரம் வாங்கமாட்டோம் என்றார்கள்.

For we will not inherit with them on yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.

அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்து, கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தசன்னத்தராகி,

And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the LORD to war,

கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களைத் தம்முடைய முகத்திற்கு முன்னின்று துரத்திவிடுமளவும், நீங்கள் யாவரும் அவருடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தசன்னத்தராய் யோர்தானைக் கடந்து போவீர்களானால்,

And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,

அத்தேசம் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக வசப்படுத்தப்பட்டபின்பு, நீங்கள் திரும்பி வந்து, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகவும், இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு முன்பாகவும், குற்றமில்லாதிருப்பீர்கள்; அதற்குப்பின்பு இந்த தேசம் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகும்.

And the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.

நீங்கள் இப்படிச் செய்யாமற்போனால், கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்தவர்களாயிருப்பீர்கள்; உங்கள் பாவம் உங்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடிக்கும் என்று நிச்சயமாய் அறியுங்கள்.

But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பட்டணங்களையும், உங்கள் ஆடுமாடுகளுக்காகத் தொழுவங்களையும் கட்டி, உங்கள் வாய்மொழியின்படியே செய்யுங்கள் என்றான்.

Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.

அப்பொழுது காத் புத்திரரும் ரூபன் புத்திரரும் மோசேயை நோக்கி: எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே உமது ஊழியக்காரராகிய நாங்கள் செய்வோம்.

And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commandeth.

எங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் எங்கள் மனைவிகளும், எங்கள் ஆடுமாடு முதலான எங்களுடைய எல்லா மிருகஜீவன்களோடும், இங்கே கீலேயாத்தின் பட்டணங்களில் இருப்பார்கள்.

Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:

உமது ஊழியக்காரராகிய நாங்களோ எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் சொன்னபடியே, ஒவ்வொருவரும் யுத்தசன்னத்தராய், கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போவோம் என்றார்கள்.

But thy servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord saith.

அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களுக்காக ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கும், நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவுக்கும், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய கோத்திர பிதாக்களாகிய தலைவர்களுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டு:

So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:

காத் புத்திரரும் ரூபன் புத்திரரும் அவரவர் கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தசன்னத்தராய் உங்களோடேகூட யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோனால், அத்தேசம் உங்களுக்கு வசப்பட்டபின்பு, அவர்களுக்குக் கீலேயாத் தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கக்கடவீர்கள்.

And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:

உங்களோடேகூட யுத்தசன்னத்தராய்க் கடந்துபோகாதிருந்தார்களேயானால், அவர்கள் உங்கள் நடுவே கானான் தேசத்திலே சுதந்தரம் அடையக்கடவர்கள் என்றான்.

But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.

காத் புத்திரரும் ரூபன் புத்திரரும் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரராகிய நாங்கள் கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே செய்வோம்.

And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.

யோர்தானுக்கு இக்கரையிலே எங்கள் சுதந்தரத்தின் காணியாட்சி எங்களுக்கு உரியதாகும்படி நாங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் யுத்தசன்னத்தராய் கானான் தேசத்திற்குப் போவோம் என்றார்கள்.

We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours.

அப்பொழுது மோசே காத் புத்திரருக்கும், ரூபன் புத்திரருக்கும், யோசேப்பின் குமாரனாகிய மனாசேயின் பாதிக்கோத்திரத்தாருக்கும், எமோரியருடைய ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனின் ராஜ்யத்தையும், பாசானுடைய ராஜாவாகிய ஓகின் ராஜ்யத்தையும், அவைகளைச் சேர்ந்த தேசங்களையும் அவைகளின் எல்லையைச் சுற்றிலுமுள்ள பட்டணங்களையும் கொடுத்தான்.

And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.

பின்பு காத் சந்ததியார் தீபோன், அதரோத் ஆரோவேர்,

And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,

ஆத்ரோத், சோபான், யாசேர், யொகிபேயா,

And Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,

பெத்நிம்ரா, பெத்தாரன் என்னும் அரணான பட்டணங்களையும் ஆட்டுத்தொழுவங்களையும் கட்டினார்கள்.

And Bethnimrah, and Bethharan, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.

ரூபன் சந்ததியார் எஸ்போன், எலெயாலெ, கீரியத்தாயீம்,

And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,

பேர்கள் மாற்றப்பட்ட நேபோ, பாகால்மெயோன், சீப்மா என்பவைகளைக் கட்டி, தாங்கள் கட்டின பட்டணங்களுக்கு வேறே பேர்களைக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

And Nebo, and Baalmeon, (their names being changed,) and Shibmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded.

மனாசேயின் குமாரனாகிய மாகீரின் புத்திரர் கீலேயாத்திற்குப் போய், அதைக்கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அதிலிருந்த எமோரியரைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்.

And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it.

அப்பொழுது மோசே கீலேயாத்தை மனாசேயின் குமாரனாகிய மாகீருக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் அதிலே குடியேறினார்கள்.

And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.

மனாசேயின் குமாரனாகிய யாவீர் போய், அவர்களுடைய கிராமங்களைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவைகளுக்கு யாவீர் என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havothjair.

நோபாக் போய், கேனாத்தையும், அதின் கிராமங்களையும் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அதற்குத் தன் நாமத்தின்படியே நோபாக் என்று பேரிட்டான்.

And Nobah went and took Kenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Nobah, after his own name.

எண்ணாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 33

மோசே ஆரோன் என்பவர்களுடைய கையின்கீழ்த் தங்கள்தங்கள் சேனைகளின்படியே எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய பிரயாணங்களின் விபரம்:

These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

மோசே தனக்குக் கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அவர்கள் புறப்பட்ட பிரகாரமாக அவர்களுடைய பிரயாணங்களை எழுதினான்; அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு இடங்களிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்பண்ணின பிரயாணங்களாவன:

And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

முதலாம் மாதத்தின் பதினைந்தாம் தேதியிலே அவர்கள் ராமசேசை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டார்கள்; பஸ்காவுக்கு மறுநாளிலே, எகிப்தியர் எல்லாரும் பார்க்க, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பெலத்தகையுடன் புறப்பட்டார்கள்.

And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

அப்பொழுது எகிப்தியர் கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குள்ளே சங்கரித்த தலைச்சன் பிள்ளைகளையெல்லாம் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்கள் தேவர்களின் பேரிலும் கர்த்தர் நீதிசெலுத்தினார்.

For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments.

பின்பு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ராமசேசிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சுக்கோத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And the children of Israel removed from Rameses, and pitched in Succoth.

சுக்கோத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், வனாந்தரத்தின் எல்லையிலிருக்கிற ஏத்தாமிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Succoth, and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

ஏத்தாமிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், பாகால்செபோனுக்கு எதிராக இருக்கிற ஈரோத் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் முன்னடிக்குத் திரும்பி, மிக்தோலுக்கு முன்பாகப் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Etham, and turned again unto Pihahiroth, which is before Baalzephon: and they pitched before Migdol.

ஈரோத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, சமுத்திரத்தை நடுவாகக் கடந்து வனாந்தரத்திற்குப் போய், ஏத்தாம் வனாந்தரத்திலே மூன்று நாள் பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, மாராவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from before Pihahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah.

மாராவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஏலிமுக்குப் போனார்கள்; ஏலிமிலே பன்னிரண்டு நீரூற்றுகளும் எழுபது பேரீச்சமரங்களும் இருந்தது; அங்கே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve fountains of water, and threescore and ten palm trees; and they pitched there.

ஏலிமிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தின் அருகே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Elim, and encamped by the Red sea.

சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தை விட்டுப் பறப்பட்டுப்போய், சீன் வனாந்தரத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from the Red sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

சீன் வனாந்தரத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், தொப்காவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.

தொப்காவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப் போய், ஆலூசிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.

ஆலூசிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ரெவிதீமிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள். அங்கே ஜனங்களுக்குக் குடிக்கத் தண்ணீர் இல்லாதிருந்தது.

And they removed from Alush, and encamped at Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink.

ரெவிதீமிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சீனாய் வனாந்தரத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Rephidim, and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai.

சீனாய் வனாந்தரத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கிப்ரோத் அத்தாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from the desert of Sinai, and pitched at Kibrothhattaavah.

கிப்ரோத் அத்தாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ஆஸரோத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Kibrothhattaavah, and encamped at Hazeroth.

ஆஸரோத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ரித்மாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Hazeroth, and pitched in Rithmah.

ரித்மாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ரிம்மோன்பேரேசிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Rithmah, and pitched at Rimmonparez.

ரிம்மோன்பேரேசிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், லிப்னாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Rimmonparez, and pitched in Libnah.

லிப்னாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ரீசாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Libnah, and pitched at Rissah.

ரீசாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கேலத்தாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they journeyed from Rissah, and pitched in Kehelathah.

கேலத்தாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சாப்பேர் மலையிலே பாளமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they went from Kehelathah, and pitched in mount Shapher.

சாப்பேர் மலையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ஆரதாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from mount Shapher, and encamped in Haradah.

ஆரதாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், மக்கெலோத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Haradah, and pitched in Makheloth.

மக்கெலோத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், தாகாத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Makheloth, and encamped at Tahath.

தாகாத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், தாராகிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Tahath, and pitched at Tarah.

தாராகிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், மித்காவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Tarah, and pitched in Mithcah.

மித்காவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், அஸ்மோனாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they went from Mithcah, and pitched in Hashmonah.

And they departed from Moseroth, and pitched in Benejaakan.

பெனெயாக்கானிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கித்காத் மலையிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Benejaakan, and encamped at Horhagidgad.

கித்காத் மலையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், யோத்பாத்தாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they went from Horhagidgad, and pitched in Jotbathah.

யோத்பாத்தாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், எப்ரோனாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Jotbathah, and encamped at Ebronah.

எப்ரோனாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், எசியோன் கேபேரிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Eziongaber.

எசியோன் கேபேரிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், காதேசாகிய சீன் வனாந்தரத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

காதேசிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ஏதோம் தேசத்தின் எல்லையிலிருக்கிற ஓர் என்னும் மலையிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோன் கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையின்படியே ஓர் என்னும் மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, அங்கே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட நாற்பதாம் வருஷம் ஐந்தாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே மரணமடைந்தான்.

And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.

ஆரோன் ஓர் என்னும் மலையிலே மரணமடைந்தபோது, நூற்றிருபத்து மூன்று வயதாயிருந்தான்.

And Aaron was an hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor.

அந்நாட்களிலே கானான் தேசத்தின் தென்திசையில் குடியிருந்த கானானியனாகிய ஆராத் என்னும் ராஜா இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் வருகிறதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டான்.

And king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

ஓர் என்னும் மலையை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சல்மோனாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from mount Hor, and pitched in Zalmonah.

சல்மோனாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், பூனோனிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Zalmonah, and pitched in Punon.

பூனோனிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ஓபோத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Punon, and pitched in Oboth.

ஓபோத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், மோவாபின் எல்லையிலுள்ள அபாரிமீன் மேடுகளிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Oboth, and pitched in Ijeabarim, in the border of Moab.

அந்த மேடுகளை விட்டுப்பறப்பட்டுப்போய், தீபோன்காத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from Iim, and pitched in Dibongad.

தீபோன்காத்திலிருந்து புறப்புட்டுப்போய், அல்மோன் திப்லத்தாயிமிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Dibongad, and encamped in Almondiblathaim.

அல்மோன் திப்லத்தாயிமிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், நேபோவுக்கு எதிரான அபாரீம் மலைகளிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

அபாரீம் மலைகளிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், எரிகோவின் அருகே யோர்தானைச்சார்ந்த மோவாபின் சமனான வெளிகளிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.

யோர்தானைச் சார்ந்த மோவாபின் சமனான வெளிகளில் அவர்கள் பெத்யெசிமோத்தைத் தொடங்கி, ஆபேல் சித்தீம்மட்டும் பாளயமிறங்கியிருந்தார்கள்.

And they pitched by Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even unto Abelshittim in the plains of Moab.

எரிகோவின் அருகே யோர்தானைச் சார்ந்த மோவாபின் சமனான வெளிகளிலே கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: நீங்கள் யோர்தானைக் கடந்து, கானான்தேசத்தில் போய்ச் சேரும்போது,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

அத்தேசத்துக் குடிகளையெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிட்டு, அவர்களுடைய எல்லாச் சிலைகளையும் வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட அவர்களுடைய எல்லா விக்கிரகங்களையும் அழித்து, அவர்கள் மேடைகளையெல்லாம் நிர்மூலமாக்கி,

Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

தேசத்திலுள்ளவர்களைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, அதிலே குடியிருக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; அந்த தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி அதை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்.

And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.

சீட்டுப்போட்டு, தேசத்தை உங்கள் குடும்பங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரங்களாகப் பங்கிட்டு, அதிக ஜனங்களுக்கு அதிக சுதந்தரமும், கொஞ்ச ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொஞ்சச் சுதந்தரமும் கொடுக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; அவரவர்க்குச் சீட்டு விழும் இடம் எதுவோ, அவ்விடம் அவரவர்க்கு உரியதாகும்; உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய கோத்திரங்களின்படியே சுதந்தரம் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளக்கடவீர்கள்.

And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.

நீங்கள் தேசத்தின் குடிகளை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடாமலிருப்பீர்களானால், அப்பொழுது அவர்களில் நீங்கள் மீதியாக வைக்கிறவர்கள் உங்கள் கண்களில் முள்ளுகளும் உங்கள் விலாக்களிலே கூர்களுமாயிருந்து, நீங்கள் குடியிருக்கிற தேசத்திலே உங்களை உபத்திரவப்படுத்துவார்கள்.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

அன்றியும், நான் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்ய நினைத்ததை உங்களுக்குச் செய்வேன் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.

யோவான் அத்தியாயம் 8

இயேசு ஒலிவமலைக்குப் போனார்.

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

மறுநாள் காலையிலே அவர் திரும்பி தேவாலயத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள். அவர் உட்கார்ந்து அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணினார்.

And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

அப்பொழுது விபசாரத்திலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, அவளை நடுவே நிறுத்தி:

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

போதகரே, இந்த ஸ்திரீ விபசாரத்தில் கையும் மெய்யுமாய்ப் பிடிக்கப்பட்டாள்.

They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லவேண்டுமென்று மோசே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறாரே, நீர் என்ன சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.

Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவதற்கான காரணம் உண்டாகும்பொருட்டு அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி இப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள் இயேசுவோ குனிந்து, விரலினால் தரையிலே எழுதினார்.

This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

அவர்கள் ஓயாமல் அவரைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அவர் நிமிர்ந்துபார்த்து: உங்களில் பாவமில்லாதவன் இவள்மேல் முதலாவது கல்லெறியக்கடவன் என்று சொல்லி,

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

அவர் மறுபடியும் குனிந்து, தரையிலே எழுதினார்.

And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

அவர்கள் அதைக் கேட்டு, தங்கள் மனச்சாட்சியினால் கடிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டு, பெரியோர்முதல் சிறியோர்வரைக்கும் ஒவ்வொருவராய்ப் போய்விட்டார்கள். இயேசு தனித்திருந்தார், அந்த ஸ்திரீ நடுவே நின்றாள்.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

இயேசு நிமிர்ந்து அந்த ஸ்திரீயைத் தவிர வேறொருவரையும் காணாமல்: ஸ்திரீயே, உன்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாட்டினவர்கள் எங்கே? ஒருவனாகிலும் உன்னை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்கவில்லையா என்றார்.

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

அதற்கு அவள்: இல்லை, ஆண்டவரே, என்றாள். இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: நானும் உன்னை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்கிறதில்லை; நீ போ, இனிப் பாவஞ்செய்யாதே என்றார்.

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

மறுபடியும் இயேசு ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: நான் உலகத்திற்கு ஒளியாயிருக்கிறேன், என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவன் இருளிலே நடவாமல் ஜீவஒளியை அடைந்திருப்பான் என்றார்.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர் அவரை நோக்கி: உன்னைக்குறித்து நீயே சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறாய்; உன்னுடைய சாட்சி உண்மையானதல்ல என்றார்கள்.

The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னைக்குறித்து நானே சாட்சி கொடுத்தாலும், என் சாட்சி உண்மையாயிருக்கிறது; ஏனெனில் நான் எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தேனென்றும், எங்கே போகிறேனென்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; நீங்களோ நான் எங்கேயிருந்து வருகிறேனென்றும், எங்கே போகிறெனென்றும் அறியீர்கள்.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

நீங்கள் மாம்சத்துக்கேற்றபடி நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறீர்கள், நான் ஒருவனையும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறதில்லை;

Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

நான் நியாயந்தீர்த்தால், என் தீர்ப்பு சத்தியத்தின்படியிருக்கும்; ஏனெனில் நான் தனித்திருக்கவில்லை, நானும் என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவுமாக இருக்கிறோம்.

And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

இரண்டுபேருடைய சாட்சி உண்மையென்று உங்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலும் எழுதியிருக்கிறதே.

It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

நான் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறவனாயிருக்கிறேன், என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவும் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறார் என்றார்.

I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: உம்முடைய பிதா எங்கே என்றார்கள். இயேசு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னையும் அறியீர்கள். என் பிதாவையும் அறியீர்கள்; நீங்கள் என்னை அறிந்தீர்களானால் என் பிதாவையும் அறிவீர்கள் என்றார்.

Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

தேவாலயத்திலே இயேசு உபதேசம்பண்ணுகிறபோது, தருமப்பெட்டியிருக்கும் இடத்தில் இந்த வசனங்களைச் சொன்னார். அவருடைய வேளை இன்னும் வராதபடியினால் ஒருவனும் அவரைப் பிடிக்கவில்லை.

These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

இயேசு மறுபடியும் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் போகிறேன், நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேடி உங்கள் பாவங்களிலே சாவீர்கள்; நான் போகிற இடத்துக்கு வர உங்களால் கூடாது என்றார்.

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள்: நான் போகிற இடத்துக்கு வர உங்களால் கூடாது என்கிறானே, தன்னைத்தான் கொலை செய்துகொள்ளுவானோ என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் தாழ்விலிருந்துண்டானவர்கள், நான் உயர்விலிருந்துண்டானவன்; நீங்கள் இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்துண்டானவர்கள், நான் இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்துண்டானவனல்ல.

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்கள் பாவங்களில் சாவீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்; நானே அவர் என்று நீங்கள் விசுவாசியாவிட்டால் உங்கள் பாவங்களிலே சாவீர்கள் என்றார்.

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் யார் என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நான் ஆதிமுதலாய் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறவர்தான்.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

உங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசவும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கவும் எனக்கு அநேக காரியங்களுண்டு. என்னை அனுப்பினவர் சத்தியமுள்ளவர்; நான் அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டவைகளையே உலகத்துக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

பிதாவைக்குறித்துப் பேசினாரென்று அவர்கள் அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.

They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

ஆதலால் இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மனுஷகுமாரனை உயர்த்தினபின்பு, நானே அவரென்றும், நான் என் சுயமாய் ஒன்றும் செய்யாமல், என் பிதா எனக்குப் போதித்தபடியே இவைகளைச் சொன்னேன் என்றும் அறிவீர்கள்.

Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

என்னை அனுப்பினவர் என்னுடனேகூட இருக்கிறார், பிதாவுக்குப் பிரியமானவைகளை நான் எப்பொழுதும் செய்கிறபடியால் அவர் என்னைத் தனியேயிருக்கவிடவில்லை என்றார்.

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

இவைகளை அவர் சொல்லுகையில், அநேகர் அவரிடத்தில் விசுவாசம்வைத்தார்கள்.

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

இயேசு தம்மை விசுவாசித்த யூதர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் என் உபதேசத்தில் நிலைத்திருந்தால் மெய்யாகவே என் சீஷராயிருப்பீர்கள்;

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

சத்தியத்தையும் அறிவீர்கள், சத்தியம் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கும் என்றார்.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

அவர்கள் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நாங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாயிருக்கிறோம், நாங்கள் ஒருக்காலும் ஒருவனுக்கும் அடிமைகளாயிருக்கவில்லை; விடுதலையாவீர்களென்று நீர் எப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.

They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: பாவஞ்செய்கிறவன் எவனும் பாவத்துக்கு அடிமையாயிருக்கிறான் என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

அடிமையானவன் என்றைக்கும் வீட்டிலே நிலைத்திரான்; குமாரன் என்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறார்.

And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

ஆகையால் குமாரன் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கினால் மெய்யாகவே விடுதலையாவீர்கள்.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாரென்று அறிவேன்; ஆனாலும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே என் உபதேசம் இடம்பெறாதபடியால், என்னைக் கொலைசெய்யத் தேடுகிறீர்கள்.

I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

நான் என் பிதாவினிடத்தில் கண்டதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன், நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிதாவினிடத்தில் கண்டதைச் செய்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்.

I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ஆபிரகாமே எங்கள் பிதா என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் பிள்ளைகளாயிருந்தால் ஆபிரகாமின் கிரியைகளைச் செய்வீர்களே.

They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

தேவனிடத்தில் கேட்டிருக்கிற சத்தியத்தை உங்களுக்குச் சொன்ன மனுஷனாகிய என்னைக் கொல்லத் தேடுகிறீர்கள், ஆபிரகாம் இப்படிச் செய்யவில்லையே.

But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிதாவின் கிரியைகளைச் செய்கிறீர்கள் என்றார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் வேசித்தனத்தினால் பிறந்தவர்களல்ல; ஒரே பிதா எங்களுக்குண்டு, அவர் தேவன் என்றார்கள்.

Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: தேவன் உங்கள் பிதாவாயிருந்தால் என்னிடத்தில் அன்பாயிருப்பீர்கள். ஏனெனில் நான் தேவனிடத்திலிருந்து வந்திருக்கிறேன்; நான் சுயமாய் வரவில்லை, அவரே என்னை அனுப்பினார்.

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

என் வசனத்தை நீங்கள் ஏன் அறியாமலிருக்கிறீர்கள்? என் உபதேசத்தைக் கேட்க மனதில்லாதிருக்கிறதினால் அல்லவா?

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிதாவாகிய பிசாசானவனால் உண்டானவர்கள்; உங்கள் பிதாவினுடைய இச்சைகளின்படி செய்ய மனதாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்; அவன் ஆதிமுதற்கொண்டு மனுஷகொலைபாதகனாயிருக்கிறான்; சத்தியம் அவனிடத்திலில்லாதபடியால் அவன் சத்தியத்திலே நிலைநிற்கவில்லை; அவன் பொய்யனும் பொய்க்குப்பிதாவுமாயிருக்கிறபடியால் அவன் பொய்பேசும்போது தன் சொந்தத்தில் எடுத்துப் பேசுகிறான்.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

நான் உங்களுக்குச் சத்தியத்தைச் சொல்லுகிறபடியினாலே நீங்கள் என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறதில்லை.

And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

என்னிடத்தில் பாவம் உண்டென்று உங்களில் யார் என்னைக் குற்றப்படுத்தக்கூடும்? நான் சத்தியத்தைச் சொல்லியிருக்க, நீங்கள் ஏன் என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறதில்லை.

Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

தேவனால் உண்டானவன் தேவனுடைய வசனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறான்; நீங்கள் தேவனால் உண்டாயிராதபடியினால் செவிகொடாமலிருக்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்.

He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: உன்னைச் சமாரியனென்றும், பிசாசு பிடித்தவனென்றும் நாங்கள் சொல்லுகிறது சரிதானே என்றார்கள்.

Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

அதற்கு இயேசு: நான் பிசாசு பிடித்தவனல்ல, நான் என் பிதாவைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறேன், நீங்கள் என்னைக் கனவீனம்பண்ணுகிறீர்கள்.

Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

நான் எனக்கு மகிமையைத் தேடுகிறதில்லை; அதைத் தேடி, நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர் ஒருவர் இருக்கிறார்.

And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

ஒருவன் என் வார்த்தையைக் கைக்கொண்டால், அவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: நீ பிசாசுபிடித்தவனென்று இப்பொழுது அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; ஆபிரகாமும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மரித்தார்கள். நீயோ: ஒருவன் என் வார்த்தையைக் கைக்கொண்டால் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தை ருசிபார்ப்பதில்லை என்கிறாய்.

Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

எங்கள் பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாமிலும் நீ பெரியவனோ? அவர் மரித்தார், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மரித்தார்கள்; உன்னை நீ எப்படிப்பட்டவனாக்குகிறாய் என்றார்கள்.

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

இயேசு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னை நானே மகிமைப்படுத்தினால் அந்த மகிமை வீணாயிருக்கும், என் பிதா என்னை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறவர், அவரை உங்கள் தேவனென்று நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்.

Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

ஆயினும் நீங்கள் அவரை அறியவில்லை, நான் அவரை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; அவரை அறியேன் என்று சொல்வேனாகில் உங்களைப்போல நானும் பொய்யனாயிருப்பேன்; அவரை நான் அறிந்து, அவருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கைக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

உங்கள் பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாம் என்னுடைய நாளைக் காண ஆசையாயிருந்தான்; கண்டு களிகூர்ந்தான் என்றார்.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: உனக்கு இன்னும் ஐம்பது வயதாகவில்லையே, நீ ஆபிரகாமைக் கண்டாயோ என்றார்கள்.

Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

அதற்கு இயேசு: ஆபிரகாம் உண்டாகிறதற்கு முன்னமே நான் இருக்கிறேன் என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

அப்பொழுது அவர்மேல் எறியும்படி கல்லுகளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள். இயேசு மறைந்து, அவர்கள் நடுவே கடந்து, தேவாலயத்தை விட்டுப்போனார்.

Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
