எண்ணாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 20

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சபையார் எல்லாரும் முதலாம் மாதத்தில் சீன்வனாந்தரத்திலே சேர்ந்து, ஜனங்கள் காதேசிலே தங்கியிருக்கையில், மிரியாம் மரணமடைந்து, அங்கே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டாள்.

Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

ஜனங்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் இல்லாதிருந்தது; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாகக் கூட்டங்கூடினார்கள்.

And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

ஜனங்கள் மோசேயோடே வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணி: எங்கள் சகோதரர் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் மாண்டபோது நாங்களும் மாண்டுபோயிருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

நாங்களும் எங்கள் மிருகங்களும் இங்கே சாகும்படி, நீங்கள் கர்த்தரின் சபையை இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே கொண்டு வந்தது என்ன;

And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

விதைப்பும், அத்திமரமும், திராட்சச்செடியும், மாதளஞ்செடியும், குடிக்கத்தண்ணீரும் இல்லாத இந்தக் கெட்ட இடத்தில் எங்களைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி, நீங்கள் எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினது என்ன என்றார்கள்.

And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் சபையாரைவிட்டு, ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலில் போய், முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை அவர்களுக்குக் காணப்பட்டது.

And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

நீ கோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, நீயும் உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஆரோனும் சபையாரைக் கூடிவரச்செய்து, அவர்கள் கண்களுக்குமுன்னே கன்மலையைப் பார்த்துப் பேசுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அது தன்னிடத்திலுள்ள தண்ணீரைக் கொடுக்கும்; இப்படி நீ அவர்களுக்குக் கன்மலையிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, சபையாருக்கும் அவர்கள் மிருகங்களுக்கும் குடிக்கக் கொடுப்பாய் என்றார்.

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

அப்பொழுது மோசே தனக்குக் கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்த கோலை எடுத்தான்.

And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.

மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் சபையாரைக் கன்மலைக்கு முன்பாகக் கூடிவரச்செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: கலகக்காரரே, கேளுங்கள், உங்களுக்கு இந்தக் கன்மலையிலிருந்து நாங்கள் தண்ணீர் புறப்படப்பண்ணுவோமோ என்று சொல்லி,

And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

தன் கையை ஓங்கி, கன்மலையைத் தன் கோலினால் இரண்டுதரம் அடித்தான்; உடனே தண்ணீர் ஏராளமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டது, சபையார் குடித்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் மிருகங்களும் குடித்தது.

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

பின்பு கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக என்னைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணும்படி, நீங்கள் என்னை விசுவாசியாமற்போனபடியினால், இந்தச் சபையாருக்கு நான் கொடுத்த தேசத்துக்குள் நீங்கள் அவர்களைக் கொண்டுபோவதில்லை என்றார்.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

இங்கே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தரோடே வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணினதினாலும், அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அவருடைய பரிசுத்தம் விளங்கினதினாலும் இது மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீர் என்னப்பட்டது.

This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

பின்பு மோசே காதேசிலிருந்து ஏதோமின் ராஜாவினிடத்துக்கு ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி:

And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:

எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் எகிப்துக்குப் போனதும், நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே நெடுநாள் வாசம்பண்ணினதும், எகிப்தியர் எங்களையும் எங்கள் பிதாக்களையும் உபத்திரவப்படுத்தினதும், இவைகளினால் எங்களுக்கு நேரிட்ட எல்லா வருத்தமும் உமக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்கிறது.

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

கர்த்தரை நோக்கி நாங்கள் மன்றாடினோம்; அவர் எங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, ஒரு தூதனை அனுப்பி, எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; இப்பொழுது நாங்கள் உமது எல்லைக்கு உட்பட்ட காதேஸ் ஊரில் வந்திருக்கிறோம்.

And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:

நாங்கள் உமது தேசத்தின் வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகும்படி உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; வயல்வெளிகள் வழியாகவும், திராட்சத்தோட்டங்கள் வழியாகவும் நாங்கள் போகாமலும், துரவுகளின் தண்ணீரைக் குடியாமலும், ராஜபாதையாகவே நடந்து, உமது எல்லையைக் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும், வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாதிருப்போம் என்று, உமது சகோதரனாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் சொல்லி அனுப்புகிறான் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.

அதற்கு ஏதோம்: நீ என் தேசத்தின் வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகக்கூடாது; போனால் பட்டயத்தோடே உன்னை எதிர்க்கப் புறப்படுவேன் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அவனை நோக்கி: நடப்பான பாதையின் வழியாய்ப் போவோம்; நாங்களும் எங்கள் மிருகங்களும் உன் தண்ணீரைக் குடித்தால், அதற்குக் கிரயங்கொடுப்போம்; வேறொன்றும் செய்யாமல், கால்நடையாய் மாத்திரம் கடந்துபோவோம் என்றார்கள்.

And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet.

அதற்கு அவன்: நீ கடந்துபோகக்கூடாது என்று சொல்லி, வெகு ஜனங்களோடும் பலத்த கையோடும் அவர்களை எதிர்க்கப் புறப்பட்டான்.

And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

இப்படி ஏதோம் தன் எல்லைவழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகும்படி இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவில்லை; ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலர் அவனை விட்டு விலகிப் போனார்கள்.

Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரான சபையார் எல்லாரும் காதேசை விட்டுப் பிரயாணப்பட்டு, ஓர் என்னும் மலைக்குப் போனார்கள்.

And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.

ஏதோம் தேசத்தின் எல்லைக்கு அருகான ஓர் என்னும் மலையிலே கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,

ஆரோன் தன் ஜனத்தாரோடே சேர்க்கப்படுவான். மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீரைப்பற்றிய காரியத்தில் நீங்கள் என் வாக்குக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமற்போனபடியினால், நான் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குக் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்தில் அவன் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை.

Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

நீ ஆரோனையும் அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களை ஓர் என்னும் மலையில் ஏறப்பண்ணி,

Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:

ஆரோன் உடுத்திருக்கிற வஸ்திரங்களைக் கழற்றி, அவைகளை அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு உடுத்துவாயாக; ஆரோன் அங்கே மரித்து, தன் ஜனத்தாரோடே சேர்க்கப்படுவான் என்றார்.

And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.

கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே மோசே செய்தான்; சபையார் எல்லாரும் பார்க்க, அவர்கள் ஓர் என்னும் மலையில் ஏறினார்கள்.

And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

அங்கே ஆரோன் உடுத்திருந்த வஸ்திரங்களை மோசே கழற்றி, அவைகளை அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு உடுத்தினான்; அப்பொழுது ஆரோன் அங்கே மலையின் உச்சியிலே மரித்தான்; பின்பு மோசேயும் எலெயாசாரும் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கினார்கள்.

And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

ஆரோன் ஜீவித்துப்போனான் என்பதைச் சபையார் எல்லாரும் கண்டபோது, இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் எல்லாரும் ஆரோனுக்காக முப்பது நாள் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

எண்ணாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 21

வேவுகாரர் காண்பித்த வழியாக இஸ்ரவேலர் வருகிறார்கள் என்று தெற்கே வாசம்பண்ணுகிற கானானியனாகிய ஆராத் ராஜா கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவன் இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம் பண்ணி, அவர்களில் சிலரைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் இந்த ஜனங்களை எங்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தால், அவர்களுடைய பட்டணங்களைச் சங்காரம்பண்ணுவோம் என்று பிரதிக்கினை பண்ணினார்கள்.

And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.

கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவர்களுக்குக் கானானியரை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவர்களையும் அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களையும் சங்காரம்பண்ணி, அவ்விடத்திற்கு ஓர்மா என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்.

And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.

அவர்கள் ஏதோம் தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்போகும்படிக்கு, ஓர் என்னும் மலையைவிட்டு, சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தின் வழியாய்ப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினார்கள்; வழியினிமித்தம் ஜனங்கள் மனமடிவடைந்தார்கள்.

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

ஜனங்கள் தேவனுக்கும் மோசேக்கும் விரோதமாகப் பேசி: நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்திலே சாகும்படி நீங்கள் எங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணினதென்ன? இங்கே அப்பமும் இல்லை, தண்ணீரும் இல்லை; இந்த அற்பமான உணவு எங்கள் மனதுக்கு வெறுப்பாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் கொள்ளிவாய்ச் சர்ப்பங்களை ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அனுப்பினார்; அவைகள் ஜனங்களைக் கடித்ததினால் இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளே அநேக ஜனங்கள் செத்தார்கள்.

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

அதினால் ஜனங்கள் மோசேயினிடத்தில் போய்: நாங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கும் உமக்கும் விரோதமாய்ப் பேசினதினால் பாவஞ்செய்தோம்; சர்ப்பங்கள் எங்களைவிட்டு நீங்கும்படி கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்; மோசே ஜனங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ ஒரு கொள்ளிவாய்ச் சர்ப்பத்தின் உருவத்தைச் செய்து, அதை ஒரு கம்பத்தின்மேல் தூக்கிவை; கடிக்கப்பட்டவன் எவனோ அவன் அதை நோக்கிப்பார்த்தால் பிழைப்பான் என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

அப்படியே மோசே ஒரு வெண்கலச்சர்ப்பத்தை உண்டாக்கி, அதை ஒரு கம்பத்தின்மேல் தூக்கிவைத்தான்; சர்ப்பம் ஒருவனைக் கடித்தபோது, அவன் அந்த வெண்கலச் சர்ப்பத்தை நோக்கிப்பார்த்துப் பிழைப்பான்.

And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பிராயணப்பட்டுப்போய், ஓபோத்தில் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in Oboth.

ஓபோத்திலிருந்து பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, சூரியோதயத்திற்கு நேராய் மோவாபுக்கு எதிரான வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள அபாரீமின் மேடுகளில் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ijeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrising.

அங்கேயிருந்து பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போய், சாரேத் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

From thence they removed, and pitched in the valley of Zared.

அங்கேயிருந்து பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போய், எமோரியரின் எல்லையிலிருந்து வருகிறதும் வனாந்தரத்தில் ஓடுகிறதுமான அர்னோன் ஆற்றுக்கு இப்புறம் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்; அந்த அர்னோன் மோவாபுக்கும் எமோரியருக்கும் நடுவே இருக்கிற மோவாபின் எல்லை.

From thence they removed, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, which is in the wilderness that cometh out of the coasts of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.

அதினால் சூப்பாவிலுள்ள வாகேபும், அர்னோனின் ஆற்றுக்கால்களும்,

Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,

ஆர் என்னும் ஸ்தலத்துக்குப் பாயும் நீரோடையும் மோவாபின் எல்லையைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறது என்னும் வசனம் கர்த்தருடைய யுத்த புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

And at the stream of the brooks that goeth down to the dwelling of Ar, and lieth upon the border of Moab.

அங்கேயிருந்து பேயேருக்குப் போனார்கள்; ஜனங்களைக் கூடிவரச்செய், அவர்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் கொடுப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குச் சொன்ன ஊற்று இருக்கிற இடம் அதுதான்.

And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் பாடின பாட்டாவது: ஊற்றுத் தண்ணீரே, பொங்கிவா; அதைக்குறித்துப் பாடுவோம் வாருங்கள்.

Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it:

நியாயப்பிரமாணிக்கனின் ஏவுதலால் அதிபதிகள் கிணற்றைத் தோண்டினார்கள்; ஜனத்தின் மேன்மக்கள் தங்கள் தண்டாயுதங்களைக்கொண்டு தோண்டினார்கள் என்று பாடினார்கள்.

The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:

அந்த வனாந்தரத்திலிருந்து மாத்தனாவுக்கும், மாத்தனாவிலிருந்து நகாலியேலுக்கும், நகாலியேலிலிருந்து பாமோத்துக்கும்,

And from Mattanah to Nahaliel: and from Nahaliel to Bamoth:

பள்ளத்தாக்கிலுள்ள மோவாபின் வெளியில் இருக்கிற பாமோத்திலிருந்து எஷிமோனை நோக்கும் பிஸ்காவின் உச்சிக்கும் போனார்கள்.

And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looketh toward Jeshimon.

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனிடத்தில் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி:

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,

உமது தேசத்தின் வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகும்படி உத்தவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; நாங்கள் வயல்களிலும், திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களிலும் போகாமலும், துரவுகளின் தண்ணீரைக் குடியாமலும், உமது எல்லையைக் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் ராஜபாதையில் நடந்துபோவோம் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னார்கள்.

Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders.

சீகோன் தன் எல்லை வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோக இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடாமல், தன் ஜனங்களெல்லாரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு விரோதமாக வனாந்தரத்திலே புறப்பட்டு, யாகாசுக்கு வந்து, இஸ்ரவேலரோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணினான்.

And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

இஸ்ரவேலர் அவனைப் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டி, அர்னோன் தொடங்கி அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தேசத்தைச்சார்ந்த யாப்போக்குவரைக்குமுள்ள அவனுடைய தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்; அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் எல்லை அரணிப்பானதாயிருந்தது.

And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.

இஸ்ரவேலர் அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் யாவையும் பிடித்து, எஸ்போனிலும் அதைச் சார்ந்த எல்லாக் கிராமங்களிலும் எமோரியருடைய எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களிலும் குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.

எஸ்போனானது எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனின் பட்டணமாயிருந்தது; அவன் மோவாபியரின் முந்தின ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணி, அர்னோன் வரைக்கும் இருந்த அவன் தேசத்தையெல்லாம் அவன் கையிலிருந்து பறித்துக்கொண்டான்.

For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.

அதினாலே கவிகட்டுகிறவர்கள்: எஸ்போனுக்கு வாருங்கள்; சீகோனின் பட்டணம் ஸ்திரமாய்க் கட்டப்படுவதாக.

Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say, Come into Heshbon, let the city of Sihon be built and prepared:

எஸ்போனிலிருந்து அக்கினியும் சீகோனுடைய பட்டணத்திலிருந்து ஜூவாலையும் புறப்பட்டு, மோவாபுடைய ஆர் என்னும் ஊரையும், அர்னோனுடைய மேடுகளிலுள்ள ஆண்டவமார்களையும் பட்சித்தது.

For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon.

ஐயோ, மோவாபே, கேமோஷ் தேவனின் ஜனமே, நீ நாசமானாய்; தப்பி ஓடின தன் குமாரரையும் தன் குமாரத்திகளையும் எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனுக்குச் சிறைகளாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்.

Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh: he hath given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.

அவர்களை எய்துபோட்டோம்; எஸ்போன் பட்டணம் தீபோன் ஊர்வரைக்கும் நாசமாயிற்று; மேதோபாவுக்குச் சமீபமான நோப்பா பட்டணபரியந்தம் அவர்களைப் பாழாக்கினோம் என்று பாடினார்கள்.

We have shot at them; Heshbon is perished even unto Dibon, and we have laid them waste even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Medeba.

இஸ்ரவேலர் இப்படியே எமோரியரின் தேசத்திலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.

பின்பு, மோசே யாசேர் பட்டணத்துக்கு வேவுபார்க்கிறவர்களை அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் அதைச்சேர்ந்த கிராமங்களைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, அங்கே இருந்த எமோரியரைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்.

And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.

பின்பு பாசானுக்குப் போகிற வழியாய்த் திரும்பிவிட்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பாசான் ராஜாவாகிய ஓக் என்பவன் தன் சமஸ்த ஜனங்களோடும் அவர்களை எதிர்த்து யுத்தம்பண்ணும்படிக்கு, எத்ரேயுக்குப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தான்.

And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: அவனுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; அவனையும் அவன் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரையும், அவன் தேசத்தையும் உன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தேன்; எஸ்போனிலே வாசமாயிருந்த எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனுக்கு நீ செய்தபடியே இவனுக்கும் செய்வாய் என்றார்.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

அப்படியே ஒருவரும் உயிருடன் மீதியாயிராதபடிக்கு அவனையும், அவன் குமாரரையும், அவனுடைய சகல ஜனங்களையும் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, அவன் தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.

ஆதியிலே வார்த்தை இருந்தது, அந்த வார்த்தை தேவனிடத்திலிருந்தது, அந்த வார்த்தை தேவனாயிருந்தது.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

அவர் ஆதியிலே தேவனோடிருந்தார்.

The same was in the beginning with God.

சகலமும் அவர் மூலமாய் உண்டாயிற்று; உண்டானதொன்றும் அவராலேயல்லாமல் உண்டாகவில்லை.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

அவருக்குள் ஜீவன் இருந்தது, அந்த ஜீவன் மனுஷருக்கு ஒளியாயிருந்தது.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

அந்த ஒளி இருளிலே பிரகாசிக்கிறது; இருளானது அதைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளவில்லை.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

தேவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான், அவன் பேர் யோவான்.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

அவன் தன்னால் எல்லாரும் விசுவாசிக்கும்படி அந்த ஒளியைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிகொடுக்க சாட்சியாக வந்தான்.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

அவன் அந்த ஒளியல்ல, அந்த ஒளியைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிகொடுக்க வந்தவனாயிருந்தான்.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

உலகத்திலே வந்து எந்த மனுஷனையும் பிரகாசிப்பிக்கிற ஒளியே அந்த மெய்யான ஒளி.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

அவர் உலகத்தில் இருந்தார், உலகம் அவர் மூலமாய் உண்டாயிற்று, உலகமோ அவரை அறியவில்லை.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

அவர் தமக்குச் சொந்தமானதிலே வந்தார், அவருக்குச் சொந்தமானவர்களோ அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

அவருடைய நாமத்தின்மேல் விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களாய் அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டவர்கள் எத்தனை பேர்களோ, அத்தனை பேர்களும் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளாகும்படி, அவர்களுக்கு அதிகாரங்கொடுத்தார்.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

அவர்கள், இரத்தத்தினாலாவது மாம்ச சித்தத்தினாலாவது புருஷனுடைய சித்தத்தினாலாவது பிறவாமல், தேவனாலே பிறந்தவர்கள்.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

அந்த வார்த்தை மாம்சமாகி, கிருபையினாலும் சத்தியத்தினாலும் நிறைந்தவராய், நமக்குள்ளே வாசம் பண்ணினார்; அவருடைய மகிமையைக் கண்டோம்; அது பிதாவுக்கு ஒரேபேறானவருடைய மகிமைக்கு ஏற்ற மகிமையாகவே இருந்தது.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

யோவான் அவரைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிகொடுத்து: எனக்குப் பின்வருகிறவர் எனக்கு முன்னிருந்தவர், ஆகையால் அவர் என்னிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவர் என்று நான் சொல்லியிருந்தேனே, அவர் இவர்தான் என்று சத்தமிட்டுக் கூறினான்.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

அவருடைய பரிபூரணத்தினால் நாம் எல்லாரும் கிருபையின்மேல் கிருபைபெற்றோம்.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

எப்படியெனில் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் மோசேயின் மூலமாய்க் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது, கிருபையும் சத்தியமும் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் மூலமாய் உண்டாயின.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

தேவனை ஒருவனும் ஒருக்காலுங் கண்டதில்லை, பிதாவின் மடியிலிருக்கிற ஒரேபேறான குமாரனே அவரை வெளிப்படுத்தினார்.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

எருசலேமிலிருந்து யூதர்கள் ஆசாரியரையும் லேவியரையும் யோவானிடத்தில் அனுப்பி: நீர் யார் என்று கேட்டபொழுது,

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

அவன் மறுதலியாமல் அறிக்கையிட்டதுமன்றி, நான் கிறிஸ்து அல்ல என்றும் அறிக்கையிட்டான்.

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: பின்னை யார்? நீர் எலியாவா என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு: நான் அவன் அல்ல என்றான். நீர் தீர்க்கதரிசியானவரா என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கும்: அல்ல என்றான்.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

அவர்கள் பின்னும் அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் யார்? எங்களை அனுப்பினவர்களுக்கு நாங்கள் உத்தரவு சொல்லும்படிக்கு, உம்மைக்குறித்து என்ன சொல்லுகிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

அதற்கு அவன்: கர்த்தருக்கு வழியைச் செவ்வைப்பண்ணுங்கள் என்று ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி சொன்னபடியே, நான் வனாந்தரத்திலே கூப்பிடுகிறவனுடைய சத்தமாயிருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்கள் பரிசேயராயிருந்தார்கள்.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

அவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் கிறிஸ்துவுமல்ல, எலியாவுமல்ல, தீர்க்கதரிசியானவருமல்லவென்றால், ஏன் ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

யோவான் அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் ஜலத்தினாலே ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கிறேன்; நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிற ஒருவர் உங்கள் நடுவிலே நிற்கிறார்.

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

அவர் எனக்குப் பின்வந்தும் என்னிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவர்; அவருடைய பாதரட்சையின் வாரை அவிழ்ப்பதற்கும் நான் பாத்திரனல்ல என்றான்.

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

இவைகள் யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையில் யோவான் ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்த பெத்தாபராவிலே நடந்தன.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

மறுநாளிலே யோவான் இயேசுவைத் தன்னிடத்தில் வரக்கண்டு: இதோ, உலகத்தின் பாவத்தைச் சுமந்துதீர்க்கிற தேவ ஆட்டுக்குட்டி.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

எனக்குப்பின் ஒருவர் வருகிறார், அவர் எனக்கு முன்னிருந்தபடியால் என்னிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவரென்று நான் சொன்னேனே, அவர் இவர்தான்.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

நானும் இவரை அறியாதிருந்தேன்; இவர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு வெளிப்படும் பொருட்டாக, நான் ஜலத்தினாலே ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கவந்தேன் என்றான்.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

பின்னும் யோவான் சாட்சியாகச் சொன்னது: ஆவியானவர் புறாவைப்போல வானத்திலிருந்திறங்கி, இவர்மேல் தங்கினதைக் கண்டேன்.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

நானும் இவரை அறியாதிருந்தேன்; ஆனாலும் ஜலத்தினால் ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கும்படி என்னை அனுப்பினவர்: ஆவியானவர் இறங்கி யார்மேல் தங்குவதை நீ காண்பாயோ, அவரே பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கிறவர் என்று எனக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

அந்தப்படியே நான் கண்டு, இவரே தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று சாட்சிகொடுத்துவருகிறேன் என்றான்.

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

மறுநாளிலே யோவானும் அவனுடைய சீஷரில் இரண்டுபேரும் நிற்கும்போது,

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

இயேசு நடந்துபோகிறதை அவன் கண்டு: இதோ, தேவ ஆட்டுக்குட்டி என்றான்.

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

அவன் அப்படிச் சொன்னதை அவ்விரண்டு சீஷருங்கேட்டு, இயேசுவுக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்.

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

இயேசு திரும்பி, அவர்கள் பின் செல்லுகிறதைக் கண்டு: என்ன தேடுகிறீர்கள் என்றார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ரபீ, நீர் எங்கே தங்கியிருக்கிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்; ரபீ என்பதற்குப் போதகரே என்று அர்த்தமாம்.

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

அவர்: வந்து பாருங்கள் என்றார். அவர்கள் வந்து அவர் தங்கியிருந்த இடத்தைக் கண்டு, அன்றையதினம் அவரிடத்தில் தங்கினார்கள். அப்பொழுது ஏறக்குறையப் பத்துமணி வேளையாயிருந்தது.

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

யோவான் சொன்னதைக் கேட்டு, அவருக்குப் பின்சென்ற இரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவன் சீமோன் பேதுருவின் சகோதரனாகிய அந்திரேயா என்பவன்.

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

அவன் முதலாவது தன் சகோதரனாகிய சீமோனைக் கண்டு: மேசியாவைக் கண்டோம் என்று சொன்னான்; மேசியா என்பதற்குக் கிறிஸ்து என்று அர்த்தமாம்.

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

பின்பு, அவனை இயேசுவினிடத்தில் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்தான். இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ யோனாவின் மகனாகிய சீமோன், நீ கேபா என்னப்படுவாய் என்றார்; கேபா என்பதற்குப் பேதுரு என்று அர்த்தமாம்.

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

மறுநாளிலே இயேசு கலிலேயாவுக்குப்போக மனதாயிருந்து, பிலிப்புவைக்கண்டு: நீ எனக்குப் பின்சென்று வா என்றார்.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

பிலிப்பென்பவன் அந்திரேயா பேதுரு என்பவர்களுடைய ஊராகிய பெத்சாயிதா பட்டணத்தான்.

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

பிலிப்பு நாத்தான்வேலைக் கண்டு: நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலே மோசேயும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் எழுதியிருக்கிறவரைக் கண்டோம்; அவர் யோசேப்பின் குமாரனும் நாசரேத்தூரானுமாகிய இயேசுவே என்றான்.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

அதற்கு நாத்தான்வேல்: நாசரேத்திலிருந்து யாதொரு நன்மை உண்டாகக்கூடுமா என்றான். அதற்குப் பிலிப்பு: வந்து பார் என்றான்.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

இயேசு நாத்தான்வேலைத் தம்மிடத்தில் வரக்கண்டு அவனைக்குறித்து: இதோ, கபடற்ற உத்தம இஸ்ரவேலன் என்றார்.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

அதற்கு நாத்தான்வேல்: நீர் என்னை எப்படி அறிவீர் என்றான். இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: பிலிப்பு உன்னை அழைக்கிறதற்குமுன்னே, நீ அத்திமரத்தின் கீழிருக்கும்போது உன்னைக் கண்டேன் என்றார்.

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

அதற்கு நாத்தான்வேல்: ரபீ, நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரன், நீர் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா என்றான்.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

இயேசு அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: அத்திமரத்தின் கீழே உன்னைக் கண்டேன் என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொன்னதினாலேயா விசுவாசிக்கிறாய்; இதிலும் பெரிதானவைகளைக் காண்பாய் என்றார்.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

பின்னும், அவர் அவனை நோக்கி: வானம் திறந்திருக்கிறதையும், தேவதூதர்கள் மனுஷகுமாரனிடத்திலிருந்து ஏறுகிறதையும் இறங்குகிறதையும் நீங்கள் இதுமுதல் காண்பீர்கள் என்று மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
