சகரியா அத்தியாயம் 9

ஆதிராக் தேசத்துக்கு விரோதமானதும், தமஸ்குவின்மேல் வந்து தங்குவதுமான கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையாகிய பாரம்; மனுஷரின் கண்களும் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய சகல கோத்திரங்களின் கண்களும் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்.

The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.

ஆமாத்தும், மிகவும் ஞானமுள்ள தீருவும் சீதோனும் அதின் எல்லைக்குள்ளாயிருக்கும்.

And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.

தீரு தனக்கு அரணைக் கட்டி, தூளைப்போல் வெள்ளியையும், வீதிகளின் சேற்றைப்போல் பசும்பொன்னையும் சேர்த்துவைத்தது.

And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.

இதோ, ஆண்டவர் அதைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, சமுத்திரத்தில் அதின் பலத்தை முறித்துப்போடுவார்; அது அக்கினிக்கு இரையாகும்.

Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.

அஸ்கலோன் அதைக் கண்டு பயப்படும், காத்சாவும் அதைக் கண்டு மிகவும் துக்கிக்கும், எக்ரோனும் தன் நம்பிக்கை அற்றுப்போனபடியால் மிகவும் பிரலாபிக்கும்; காத்சாவில் ராஜா அழிந்துபோவான்; அஸ்கலோன் குடியற்றிருக்கும்.

Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

அஸ்தோத்தில் வேசிப்பிள்ளைகள் வாசம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; நான் பெலிஸ்தரின் கர்வத்தை அழிப்பேன்.

And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

அவனுடைய இரத்தத்தை அவன் வாயிலிருந்தும், அவனுடைய அருவருப்புகளை அவன் பல்லுகளின் நடுவிலிருந்தும் நீக்கிப்போடுவேன்; அவனோ நம்முடைய தேவனுக்கென்று மீதியாக வைக்கப்பட்டு, யூதாவிலே பிரபுவைப்போல இருப்பான்; எக்ரோன் எபூசியனைப்போல இருப்பான்.

And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.

சேனையானது புறப்படும்போதும், திரும்பி வரும்போதும், என் ஆலயம் காக்கப்படும்படி அதைச் சுற்றிலும் பாளயம்போடுவேன்; இனி ஒடுக்குகிறவன் அவர்களிடத்தில் கடந்துவருவதில்லை; அதை என் கண்களினாலே பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

சீயோன் குமாரத்தியே, மிகவும் களிகூரு; எருசலேம் குமாரத்தியே, கெம்பீரி; இதோ, உன் ராஜா உன்னிடத்தில் வருகிறார்; அவர் நீதியுள்ளவரும் இரட்சிக்கிறவரும் தாழ்மையுள்ளவரும், கழுதையின்மேலும் கழுதைக்குட்டியாகிய மறியின்மேலும் ஏறி வருகிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

எப்பிராயீமினின்று இரதங்களையும் எருசலேமினின்று குதிரைகளையும் அற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணுவேன், யுத்தவில்லும் இல்லாமற்போகும்; அவர் ஜாதிகளுக்குச் சமாதானம் கூறுவார்; அவருடைய ஆளுகை ஒரு சமுத்திரந்தொடங்கி மறுசமுத்திரம்வரைக்கும், நதிதொடங்கி பூமியின் எல்லைகள்பரியந்தமும் செல்லும்.

And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

உனக்கு நான் செய்வதென்னவென்றால், தண்ணீரில்லாத குழியிலே அடைபட்டிருக்கிற உன்னுடையவர்களை நான் உன் உடன்படிக்கையின் இரத்தத்தினாலே விடுதலைபண்ணுவேன்.

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

நம்பிக்கையுடைய சிறைகளே, அரணுக்குத் திரும்புங்கள்; இரட்டிப்பான நன்மையைத் தருவேன், இன்றைக்கே தருவேன்.

Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;

நான் எனக்கென்று யூதாவை நாணேற்றி, எப்பிராயீமிலே வில்லை நிரப்பி, சீயோனே, உன் புத்திரரைக் கிரேக்குதேசப் புத்திரருக்கு விரோதமாக எழுப்பி, உன்னைப் பராக்கிரமசாலியின் பட்டயத்துக்கு ஒப்பாக்குவேன்.

When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.

அவர்கள் பட்சத்தில் கர்த்தர் காணப்படுவார்; அவருடைய அம்பு மின்னலைப்போலப் புறப்படும்; கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் எக்காளம் ஊதி, தென்திசைச் சுழல்காற்றுகளோடே நடந்துவருவார்.

And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவார்; அவர்கள் பட்சித்து, கவண்கற்களால் கீழ்ப்படுத்திக்கொள்வார்கள்; அவர்கள் குடித்துக் களிப்பினால் ஆரவாரிப்பார்கள்; பானபாத்திரங்கள்போலவும், பலிபீடத்தின் கோடிகளைப்போலவும் நிறைந்திருப்பார்கள்.

The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.

அந்நாளில் அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய ஜனமான மந்தையாகிய அவர்களை இரட்சிப்பார்; அவர்கள் அவருடைய தேசத்தில் ஏற்றப்பட்ட கொடிகளின் கிரீடத்தில் பதிந்திருப்பார்கள்.

And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.

அவருடைய காருண்யம் எத்தனை பெரியது? அவருடைய சௌந்தரியம் எத்தனை பெரியது? தானியம் வாலிபரையும், புது திராட்சரசம் கன்னிகைகளையும் வளர்க்கும்.

For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.

சகரியா அத்தியாயம் 10

பின்மாரிகாலத்து மழையைக் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மின்னல்களை உண்டாக்கி, வயல்வெளியில் அவரவருக்குப் பயிருண்டாக அவர்களுக்கு மழையைக் கட்டளையிடுவார்.

Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

சுரூபங்கள் அபத்தமானதைச் சொல்லிற்று; குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்கள் பொய்யைத்தரித்தார்கள்; சொப்பனக்காரர் வீணானதைச் சொல்லி, வியர்த்தமாகத் தேற்றரவுபண்ணினார்கள்; ஆகையால் ஜனங்கள் ஆடுகளைப்போலச் சிதறி, மேய்ப்பனில்லாததினால் சிறுமைப்பட்டார்கள்.

For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.

மேய்ப்பருக்கு விரோதமாக என் கோபம் மூண்டது; கடாக்களைத் தண்டித்தேன்; சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் யூதா வம்சத்தாராகிய தமது மந்தையை விசாரித்து, அவர்களை யுத்தத்திலே தமது சிறந்த குதிரையாக நிறுத்துவார்.

Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.

அவர்களிலிருந்து கோடிக்கல்லும், அவர்களிலிருந்து கூடாரமுளையும், அவர்களிலிருந்து யுத்தவில்லும் வரும்; அவர்களிலிருந்து ஆளுகிற யாவரும் ஏகமாய்ப் புறப்படுவார்கள்.

Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.

அவர்கள் யுத்தத்திலே தங்கள் சத்துருக்களை வீதிகளின் சேற்றில் மிதிக்கிற பராக்கிரமசாலிகளைப்போல இருந்து யுத்தம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடேகூட இருப்பார்; குதிரைகளின்மேல் ஏறிவருகிறவர்கள் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

நான் யூதா வம்சத்தாரைப் பலப்படுத்தி, யோசேப்பு வம்சத்தாரை இரட்சித்து, அவர்களைத் திரும்ப நிலைக்கப்பண்ணுவேன்; நான் அவர்களுக்கு இரங்கினேன்; அவர்கள் என்னால் ஒருக்காலும் தள்ளிவிடப்படாதவர்களைப்போல் இருப்பார்கள்; நான் அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், நான் அவர்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பேன்.

And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.

எப்பிராயீமர் பராக்கிரமரைப்போல இருப்பார்கள்; மதுபானத்தால் களிப்பதுபோல, அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் களிக்கும்; அவர்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளும் அதைக் கண்டு மகிழுவார்கள்; அவர்கள் இருதயம் கர்த்தருக்குள் களிகூரும்.

And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.

நான் அவர்களைப் பார்த்துப் பயில்போட்டு அவர்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொள்ளுவேன்; அவர்களை மீட்டுக்கொண்டேன்; அவர்கள் பெருகியிருந்ததுபோலவே பெருகிப்போவார்கள்.

I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.

நான் அவர்களை ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே இறைத்தபின்பு, அவர்கள் தூரதேசங்களிலே என்னை நினைத்து தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளோடுங்கூடப் பிழைத்துத் திரும்புவார்கள்.

And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.

நான் அவர்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து திரும்பிவரப்பண்ணி, அவர்களை அசீரியாவிலிருந்து கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களைக் கீலேயாத் தேசத்துக்கும் லீபனோனுக்கும் வரப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவர்களுக்கு இடம் போதாமற்போகும்.

I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.

இடுக்கமென்கிற சமுத்திரத்தைக் கடக்கையில் அவர் சமுத்திரத்தின் அலைகளை அடிப்பார்; அப்பொழுது நதியின் ஆழங்கள் எல்லாம் வறண்டுபோகும்; அசீரியாவின் கர்வம் தாழ்த்தப்படும், எகிப்தின் கொடுங்கோல் விலகிப்போகும்.

And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

நான் அவர்களைக் கர்த்தருக்குள் பலப்படுத்துவேன்; அவர்கள் அவருடைய நாமத்திலே நடந்துகொள்ளுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.

சகரியா அத்தியாயம் 11

லீபனோனே, அக்கினி உன் கேதுருமரங்களைப் பட்சிக்கும்படி உன் வாசல்களைத் திற.

Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

தேவதாரு விருட்சங்களே, புலம்புங்கள்; கேதுமரங்கள் விழுந்ததே; பிரபலமானவைகள் பாழாக்கப்பட்டன. பாசானின் கர்வாலிமரங்களே, புலம்புங்கள்; அரணுள்ள சோலை கீழே தள்ளப்பட்டது.

Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

மேய்ப்பர்களின் மகிமை அழிந்துபோனபடியால், அவர்கள் அலறுகிற சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது; யோர்தானின் பெருமை அழிந்துபோனபடியால், பாலசிங்கங்கள் கர்ச்சிக்கிற சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது.

There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், கொலையுண்கிற ஆடுகளை மேய்க்கக்கடவாய்.

Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

அவைகளை உடையவர்கள், அவைகளைக் கொன்றுபோட்டுத் தங்களுக்குக் குற்றமில்லையென்று எண்ணுகிறார்கள். அவைகளை விற்கிறவர்கள், கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம், நாங்கள் ஐசுவரியமுள்ளவர்களானோம் என்கிறார்கள்; அவைகளை மேய்க்கிறவர்கள், அவைகள்மேல் இரக்கம் வைக்கிறதில்லை.

Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

நான் இனி தேசத்துக் குடிகளின்மேல் இரக்கம் வையாமல் மனுஷரில் யாவரையும் அவனவனுடைய அயலான் கையிலும், அவனவனுடைய ராஜாவின் கையிலும் அகப்படப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவர்கள் தேசத்தை அழித்தும், நான் இவர்களை அவர்கள் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பதில்லையென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

கொலையுண்கிற மந்தையாகிய சிறுமைப்பட்ட உங்களை நான் மேய்ப்பேன்; நான் இரண்டு கோல்களை எடுத்து, ஒன்றிற்கு அநுக்கிரகம் என்றும், ஒன்றிற்கு நிக்கிரகம் என்றும் பேரிட்டு மந்தையை மேய்த்து,

And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

ஒரே மாதத்திலே மூன்று மேய்ப்பரையும் அதம்பண்ணினேன்; என் ஆத்துமா அவர்களை அரோசித்தது; அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா என்னையும் வெறுத்தது.

Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

இனி நான் உங்களை மேய்ப்பதில்லை; சாகிறது சாகட்டும், அதமாகிறது அதமாகட்டும்; மீதியானவைகளோவென்றால், ஒன்றின் மாம்சத்தை ஒன்று தின்னக்கடவது என்று நான் சொல்லி,

Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

அநுக்கிரகம் என்னப்பட்ட என் கோலை எடுத்து, நான் அந்த ஜனங்களெல்லாரோடும் பண்ணியிருந்த என் உடன்படிக்கை அற்றுப்போகும்படிக்கு அதை முறித்துப்போட்டேன்.

And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

அந்நாளிலே அது அற்றுப்போயிற்று; அப்படியே மந்தையில் எனக்குக் காத்திருந்த சிறுமைப்பட்டவைகள் அது கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையென்று அறிந்துகொண்டன.

And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

உங்கள் பார்வைக்கு நன்றாய்க் கண்டால், என் கூலியைத் தாருங்கள்; இல்லாவிட்டால் இருக்கட்டும் என்று அவர்களோடே சொன்னேன்; அப்பொழுது எனக்குக் கூலியாக முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசை நிறுத்தார்கள்.

And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: அதைக் குயவனிடத்தில் எறிந்துவிடு என்றார்; இதுவே நான் அவர்களால் மதிக்கப்பட்ட மேன்மையான மதிப்பு; நான் அந்த முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசை எடுத்து, அவைகளைக் குயவனுக்கென்று கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே எறிந்துவிட்டேன்.

And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

நான் யூதாவுக்கும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கும் இருக்கிற சகோதரக்கட்டை அற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணும்படிக்கு, நிக்கிரகம் என்னப்பட்ட என் இரண்டாம் கோலையும் முறித்தேன்.

Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ மதியற்ற ஒரு மேய்ப்பனுடைய ஆயுதங்களை இன்னும் எடுத்துக்கொள்.

And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

இதோ, நான் தேசத்திலே ஒரு மேய்ப்பனை எழும்பப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவன் அதமாகிறவைகளைப் பராமரிக்காமலும், சிதறுண்டதைத் தேடாமலும், நொறுங்குண்டதைக் குணமாக்காமலும், இளைத்திருக்கிறதை ஆதரிக்காமலும், கொழுத்ததின் மாம்சத்தைத் தின்று, அவைகளுடைய குளம்புகளை உடைத்துப்போடுவான்.

For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

மந்தையைக் கைவிடுகிற அபத்தமான மேய்ப்பனுக்கு ஐயோ! பட்டயம் அவன் புயத்தின்மேலும் அவன் வலது கண்ணின்மேலும் வரும்; அவன் புயமுழுதும் சூம்பிப்போகும்; அவன் வலது கண் முற்றிலும் இருள் அடையும் என்றார்.

Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

ஏழு கலசங்களையுடைய அந்த ஏழு தூதரில் ஒருவன் வந்து என்னோடே பேசி: நீ வா, திரளான தண்ணீர்கள்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற மகா வேசியோடே பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள் வேசித்தனம் பண்ணினார்களே, அவளுடைய வேசித்தனமாகிய மதுவால் பூமியின் குடிகளும் வெறிகொண்டிருந்தார்களே;

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

அவளுக்கு வருகிற ஆக்கினையை உனக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி;

With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

ஆவிக்குள் என்னை வனாந்தரத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனான். அப்பொழுது ஏழு தலைகளையும் பத்துக் கொம்புகளையும் உடையதும் தூஷணமான நாமங்களால் நிறைந்ததுமான சிவுப்புநிறமுள்ள மிருகத்தின்மேல் ஒரு ஸ்திரீ ஏறியிருக்கக்கண்டேன்.

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

அந்த ஸ்திரீ இரத்தாம்பரமும் சிவப்பான ஆடையுந்தரித்து, பொன்னினாலும் இரத்தினங்களினாலும் முத்துக்களினாலும் சிங்காரிக்கப்பட்டு, தன் வேசித்தனமாகிய அருவருப்புகளாலும் அசுத்தத்தாலும் நிறைந்த பொற்பாத்திரத்தைத் தன் கையிலே பிடித்திருந்தாள்.

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

மேலும், இரகசியம், மகா பாபிலோன், வேசிகளுக்கும் பூமியிலுள்ள அருவருப்புகளுக்கும் தாய் என்னும் நாமம் அவள் நெற்றியில் எழுதியிருந்தது.

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

அந்த ஸ்திரீ பரிசுத்தவான்களின் இரத்தத்தினாலும், இயேசுவினுடைய சாட்சிகளின் இரத்தத்தினாலும் வெறிகொண்டிருக்கிறதைக் கண்டேன்; அவளைக் கண்டு நான் மிகவும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டேன்.

And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

அப்பொழுது, தூதனானவன் என்னை நோக்கி: ஏன் ஆச்சரியப்படுகிறாய்? இந்த ஸ்திரீயினுடைய இரகசியத்தையும், ஏழு தலைகளையும் பத்துக் கொம்புகளையுமுடையதாய் இவளைச் சுமக்கிற மிருகத்தினுடைய இரகசியத்தையும் உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

நீ கண்ட மிருகம் முன்னே இருந்தது, இப்பொழுது இல்லை; அது பாதாளத்திலிருந்து ஏறிவந்து, நாசமடையப்போகிறது. உலகத்தோற்றமுதல் ஜீவபுஸ்தகத்தில் பேரெழுதப்பட்டிராத பூமியின் குடிகள், இருந்ததும், இராமற்போனதும், இனி இருப்பதுமாயிருக்கிற மிருகத்தைப்பார்த்து ஆச்சரியப்படுவார்கள்.

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

ஞானமுள்ள மனம் இதிலே விளங்கும். அந்த ஏழு தலைகளும் அந்த ஸ்திரீ உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற ஏழு மலைகளாம்.

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

அவைகள் ஏழு ராஜாக்களாம்; இவர்களில் ஐந்துபேர் விழுந்தார்கள், ஒருவன் இருக்கிறான், மற்றவன் இன்னும் வரவில்லை; வரும்போது அவன் கொஞ்சக்காலம் தரித்திருக்கவேண்டும்.

And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

இருந்ததும் இராததுமாகிய மிருகமே எட்டாவதானவனும், அவ்வேழிலிருந்து தோன்றுகிறவனும், நாசமடையப்போகிறவனுமாயிருக்கிறான்.

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

நீ கண்ட பத்துக் கொம்புகளும், பத்து ராஜாக்களாம்; இவர்கள் இன்னும் ராஜ்யம் பெறவில்லை; இவர்கள் மிருகத்துடனேகூட ஒருமணி நேரமளவும் ராஜாக்கள்போல அதிகாரம் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.

And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

இவர்கள் ஒரே யோசனையுள்ளவர்கள்; இவர்கள் தங்கள் வல்லமையையும் அதிகாரத்தையும் மிருகத்திற்குக் கொடுப்பார்கள்.

These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

இவர்கள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவருடனே யுத்தம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவர் கர்த்தாதி கர்த்தரும் ராஜாதி ராஜாவுமாயிருக்கிறபடியால் அவர்களை ஜெயிப்பார்; அவரோடுகூட இருக்கிறவர்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்களும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களும் உண்மையுள்ளவர்களுமாயிருக்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

பின்னும் அவன் என்னை நோக்கி: அந்த வேசி உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற தண்ணீர்களைக் கண்டாயே; அவைகள் ஜனங்களும் கூட்டங்களும் ஜாதிகளும் பாஷைக்காரருமாம்.

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

நீ மிருகத்தின்மேல் கண்ட பத்துக்கொம்புகளானவர்கள் அந்த வேசியைப் பகைத்து, அவளைப் பாழும் நிர்வாணமுமாக்கி, அவளுடைய மாம்சத்தைப் பட்சித்து, அவளை நெருப்பினால் சுட்டெரித்துப்போடுவார்கள்.

And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

தேவன் தம்முடைய வார்த்தைகள் நிறைவேறுமளவும், அவர்கள் தமது யோசனையை நிறைவேற்றுகிறதற்கும், ஒரே யோசனையுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்து, தங்கள் ராஜ்யத்தை மிருகத்திற்குக் கொடுக்கிறதற்கும் அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்களை ஏவினார்.

For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

நீ கண்ட ஸ்திரீயானவள் பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள்மேல் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணுகிற மகா நகரமேயாம் என்றான்.

And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

இவைகளுக்குப்பின்பு, வேறொரு தூதன் மிகுந்த அதிகாரமுடையவனாய், வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கிவரக்கண்டேன்; அவனுடைய மகிமையினால் பூமி பிரகாசமாயிற்று.

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

அவன் பலத்த சத்தமிட்டு: மகா பாபிலோன் விழுந்தது! விழுந்தது! அது பேய்களுடைய குடியிருப்பும், சகலவித அசுத்த ஆவிகளுடைய காவல்வீடும், அசுத்தமும் அருவருப்புமுள்ள சகலவித பறவைகளுடைய கூடுமாயிற்று.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

அவளுடைய வேசித்தனத்தின் உக்கிரமான மதுவை எல்லா ஜாதிகளும் குடித்தார்கள்; பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள் அவளோடே வேசித்தனம்பண்ணினார்கள்; பூமியின் வர்த்தகர் அவளுடைய செல்வச்செருக்கின் மிகுதியினால் ஐசுவரியவான்களானார்கள் என்று விளம்பினான்.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

பின்பு, வேறொரு சத்தம் வானத்திலிருந்து உண்டாகக் கேட்டேன். அது: என் ஜனங்களே, நீங்கள் அவளுடைய பாவங்களுக்கு உடன்படாமலும், அவளுக்கு நேரிடும் வாதைகளில் அகப்படாமலும் இருக்கும்படிக்கு அவளைவிட்டு வெளியே வாருங்கள்.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

அவளுடைய பாவம் வானபரியந்தம் எட்டினது, அவளுடைய அநியாயங்களை தேவன் நினைவுகூர்ந்தார்.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

அவள் உங்களுக்குப் பலனளித்ததுபோல நீங்களும் அவளுக்குப் பலனளியுங்கள்; அவளுடைய கிரியைகளுக்குத்தக்கதாக அவளுக்கு இரட்டிப்பாகக் கொடுத்துத் தீருங்கள்; அவள் உங்களுக்குக் கலந்துகொடுத்த பாத்திரத்திலே இரட்டிப்பாக அவளுக்குக் கலந்துகொடுங்கள்.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

அவள் தன்னை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, செல்வச்செருக்காய் வாழ்ந்ததெவ்வளவோ அவ்வளவாய் வாதையையும் துக்கத்தையும் அவளுக்குக் கொடுங்கள். நான் ராஜஸ்திரீயாய் வீற்றிருக்கிறேன்; நான் கைம்பெண்ணல்ல, நான் துக்கத்தைக் காண்பதில்லையென்று அவள் தன் இருதயத்திலே எண்ணினாள்.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

ஆகையால் அவளுக்கு வரும் வாதைகளாகிய சாவும் துக்கமும் பஞ்சமும் ஒரே நாளிலே வரும்; அவள் அக்கினியினாலே சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவாள்; அவளுக்கு நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக் கொடுக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் வல்லமையுள்ளவர்.

Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

அவளுடனே வேசித்தனஞ்செய்து செல்வச்செருக்காய் வாழ்ந்த பூமியின் ராஜாக்களும் அவள் வேகிறதினால் உண்டான புகையைக் காணும்போது அவளுக்காக அழுது புலம்பி,

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

அவளுக்கு உண்டான வாதையினால் பயந்து, தூரத்திலே நின்று: ஐயையோ! பாபிலோன், மகா நகரமே! பலமான பட்டணமே! ஒரே நாழிகையில் உனக்கு ஆக்கினை வந்ததே! என்பார்கள்.

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

பூமியின் வர்த்தகர்களும் தங்கள் தங்கள் சரக்குகளாகிய பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், இரத்தினங்களையும், முத்துக்களையும், சல்லாவையும், இரத்தாம்பரத்தையும், பட்டாடைகளையும், சிவப்பாடைகளையும்,

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

சகலவித வாசனைக் கட்டைகளையும், தந்தத்தினால் செய்திருக்கிற சகலவித வஸ்துக்களையும், விலையுயர்ந்த மரத்தினாலும் வெண்கலத்தினாலும் இரும்பினாலும் வெள்ளைக் கல்லினாலும் செய்திருக்கிற சகலவித வஸ்துக்களையும்,

The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

இலவங்கப்பட்டையையும், தூபவர்க்கங்களையும், தைலங்களையும், சாம்பிராணியையும், திராட்சரசத்தையும், எண்ணெயையும், மெல்லிய மாவையும், கோதுமையையும், மாடுகளையும், ஆடுகளையும், குதிரைகளையும், இரதங்களையும், அடிமைகளையும், மனுஷருடைய ஆத்துமாக்களையும் இனிக் கொள்வாரில்லாதபடியால், அவளுக்காக அழுது புலம்புவார்கள்.

And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

உன் ஆத்துமா இச்சித்த பழவர்க்கங்கள் உன்னைவிட்டு நீங்கிப்போயின; கொழுமையானவைகளும் சம்பிரமமானவைகளும் உன்னைவிட்டு நீங்கிப்போயின; நீ அவைகளை இனிக் காண்பதில்லை.

And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைக் கொண்டு வர்த்தகம்பண்ணி, அவளால் ஐசுவரியவான்களானவர்கள் அவளுக்கு உண்டான வாதையினால் பயந்து, தூரத்திலே நின்று;

The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

ஐயையோ! சல்லாவும் இரத்தாம்பரமும் சிவப்பாடையும் தரித்து, பொன்னினாலும் இரத்தினங்களினாலும் முத்துக்களினாலும் சிங்காரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மகா நகரமே! ஒரு நாழிகையிலே இவ்வளவு ஐசுவரியமும் அழிந்துபோயிற்றே! என்று சொல்லி, அழுது துக்கிப்பார்கள்.

And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

மாலுமிகள் யாவரும், கப்பல்களில் யாத்திரைபண்ணுகிறவர்கள் யாவரும், கப்பலாட்களும், சமுத்திரத்திலே தொழில்செய்கிற யாவரும் தூரத்திலே நின்று,

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

அவள் வேகிறதினால் உண்டான புகையைப் பார்த்து: இந்த மகா நகரத்திற்கொப்பான நகரம் உண்டோ என்று சத்தமிட்டு,

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

தங்கள் தலைகள்மேல் புழுதியைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு: ஐயையோ, மகா நகரமே! சமுத்திரத்திலே கப்பல்களையுடைய அனைவரும் இவளுடைய உச்சிதமான சம்பூரணத்தினால் ஐசுவரியவான்களானார்களே! ஒரு நாழிகையிலே இவள் பாழாய்ப்போனாளே! என்று அழுது துக்கித்து ஓலமிடுவார்கள்.

And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

பரலோகமே! பரிசுத்தவான்களாகிய அப்போஸ்தலர்களே! தீர்க்கதரிசிகளே! அவளைக்குறித்துக் களிகூருங்கள். உங்கள் நிமித்தம் தேவன் அவளை நியாயந்தீர்த்தாரே! என்று தூதன் சொன்னான்.

Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

அப்பொழுது, பலமுள்ள தூதனொருவன் பெரிய எந்திரக்கல்லையொத்த ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்துச் சமுத்திரத்திலே எறிந்து: இப்படியே பாபிலோன் மகா நகரம் வேகமாய்த் தள்ளுண்டு, இனி ஒருபோதும் காணப்படாமற்போகும்.

And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

சுரமண்டலக்காரரும், கீதவாத்தியக்காரரும், நாகசுரக்காரரும், எக்காளக்காரருமானவர்களுடைய சத்தம் இனி உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படுவதுமில்லை; எந்தத் தொழிலாளியும் இனி உன்னிடத்தில் காணப்படுவதுமில்லை; எந்திரசத்தம் இனி உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படுவதுமில்லை.

And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

விளக்குவெளிச்சம் இனி உன்னிடத்தில் பிரகாசிப்பதுமில்லை; மணவாளனும் மணவாட்டியுமானவர்களுடைய சத்தம் இனி உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படுவதுமில்லை. உன் வர்த்தகர் பூமியில் பெரியோர்களாயிருந்தார்களே; உன் சூனியத்தால் எல்லா ஜாதிகளும் மோசம்போனார்களே.

And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய இரத்தமும் பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய இரத்தமும் பூமியில் கொல்லப்பட்ட அனைவருடைய இரத்தமும் அவளிடத்தில் காணப்பட்டது என்று விளம்பினான்.

And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
