புலம்பல் அத்தியாயம் 3

ஆண்டவருடைய சினத்தின் மிலாற்றினால் உண்டான சிறுமையைக் கண்ட புருஷன் நான்.

I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

அவர் என்னை வெளிச்சத்திலே அல்ல, இருளிலே அழைத்து நடத்திவந்தார்.

He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.

அவர் தமது கையை எனக்கு விரோதமாகவே நித்தமும் திருப்பினார்.

Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.

என் சதையையும், என் தோலையும் முற்றலாக்கினார்; என் எலும்புகளை நொறுக்கினார்.

My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

அவர் எனக்கு விரோதமாகக் கொத்தளங்கட்டி, கசப்பினாலும் வருத்தத்தினாலும் என்னை வளைந்துகொண்டார்.

He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

பூர்வகாலத்தில் செத்துக்கிடக்கிறவர்களைப்போல என்னை இருளான இடங்களில் கிடக்கப்பண்ணினார்.

He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.

நான் புறப்படக்கூடாதபடி என்னைச்சூழ வேலியடைத்தார்; என் விலங்கைப் பாரமாக்கினார்.

He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

நான் சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்டாலும், என் ஜெபத்துக்கு வழியை அடைத்துப்போட்டார்.

Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

வெட்டின கற்களின் சுவரால் என் வழிகளை அடைத்துப்போட்டார், என் பாதைகளைத் தாறுமாறாக்கினார்.

He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

அவர் எனக்குப் பதிவிருக்கிற கரடியும், மறைவிடங்களில் தங்குகிற சிங்கமுமாயிருக்கிறார்.

He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

என் வழிகளை அப்புறப்படுத்தி, என்னைத் துண்டித்துப்போட்டார்; என்னைப்பாழாக்கிவிட்டார்.

He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

தமது வில்லை நாணேற்றி, என்னை அம்புக்கு இலக்காக வைத்தார்.

He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

தம்முடைய அம்பறாத்தூணியின் அம்புகளை என் உள்ளிந்திரியங்களில் படப்பண்ணினார்.

He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

நான் என் ஜனத்தார் யாவருக்கும் பரியாசமும், நித்தம் அவர்கள் கின்னரப்பாடலுமானேன்.

I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.

கசப்பினால் என்னை நிரப்பி, எட்டியினால் என்னை வெறிக்கச்செய்தார்.

He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.

அவர் பருக்கைக்கற்களால் என் பற்களை நொறுக்கி, என்னைச் சாம்பலில் புரளப்பண்ணினார்.

He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.

என் ஆத்துமாவைச் சமாதானத்துக்குத் தூரமாக்கினார்; சுகத்தை மறந்தேன்.

And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

என் பெலனும் நான் கர்த்தருக்குக் காத்திருந்த நம்பிக்கையும் அழிந்துபோயிற்று என்றேன்.

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:

எட்டியும் பிச்சுமாகிய என் சிறுமையையும் என் தவிப்பையும் நினைத்தருளும்.

Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

என் ஆத்துமா அவைகளை நினைத்து நினைத்து எனக்குள் முறிந்துபோகிறது.

My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

இதை என் மனதிலே வைத்து, நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருப்பேன்.

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

நாம் நிர்மூலமாகாதிருக்கிறது கர்த்தருடைய கிருபையே, அவருடைய இரக்கங்களுக்கு முடிவில்லை.

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

அவைகள் காலைதோறும் புதியவைகள்; உமது உண்மை பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

கர்த்தர் என் பங்கு என்று என் ஆத்துமா சொல்லும்; ஆகையால் அவரிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருப்பேன்.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

தமக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் தம்மைத் தேடுகிற ஆத்துமாவுக்கும் கர்த்தர் நல்லவர்.

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

கர்த்தருடைய இரட்சிப்புக்கு நம்பிக்கையோடு காத்திருக்கிறது நல்லது.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

தன் இளம்பிராயத்தில் நுகத்தைச் சுமக்கிறது மனுஷனுக்கு நல்லது.

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

அவரே அதைத் தன்மேல் வைத்தாரென்று அவன் தனித்திருந்து மெளனமாயிருக்கக்கடவன்.

He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

நம்பிக்கைக்கு இடமுண்டோ என்று தன் வாயைத் தூளில் நுழுந்துவானாக.

He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

தன்னை அடிக்கிறவனுக்குத் தன் கன்னத்தைக் காட்டி, நிந்தையால் நிறைந்திருப்பானாக.

He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

ஆண்டவர் என்றென்றைக்கும் கைவிடமாட்டார்.

For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

அவர் சஞ்சலப்படுத்தினாலும் தமது மிகுந்த கிருபையின்படி இரங்குவார்.

But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

அவர் மனப்பூர்வமாய் மனுபுத்திரரைச் சிறுமையாக்கிச் சஞ்சலப்படுத்துகிறதில்லை.

For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

ஒருவன் பூமியில் சிறைப்பட்டவர்கள் யாவரையும் தன் கால்களின்கீழ் நசுக்குகிறதையும்,

To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

உன்னதமானவரின் சமுகத்தில் மனுஷருடைய நியாயத்தைப் புரட்டுகிறதையும்,

To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,

மனுஷனை அவனுடைய வழக்கிலே மாறுபாடாக்குகிறதையும், ஆண்டவர் காணாதிருப்பாரோ?

To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

ஆண்டவர் கட்டளையிடாதிருக்கக் காரியம் சம்பவிக்கும் என்று சொல்லுகிறவன் யார்?

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

உன்னதமானவருடைய வாயிலிருந்து தீமையும் நன்மையும் புறப்படுகிறதில்லையோ?

Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

உயிருள்ள மனுஷன் முறையிடுவானேன்? அவன் தன் பாவத்துக்கு வரும் தண்டனையைக்குறித்து முறையிடுகிறதென்ன?

Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

நாம் நம்முடைய வழிகளைச் சோதித்து ஆராய்ந்து, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்பக்கடவோம்.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

நாம் நம்முடைய கைகளோடுங்கூட நம்முடைய இருதயத்தையும் பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனிடத்திற்கு ஏறெடுக்கக்கடவோம்.

Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

நாங்கள் துரோகஞ்செய்து, கலகம்பண்ணினோம்; ஆகையால் தேவரீர் மன்னியாதிருந்தீர்.

We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

தேவரீர் கோபத்தால் மூடிக்கொண்டு, எங்களைத் தப்பவிடாமல் பின்தொடர்ந்து கொன்றீர்.

Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

ஜெபம் உட்பிரவேசிக்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு உம்மை மேகத்தால் மூடிக்கொண்டீர்.

Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.

ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே எங்களைக் குப்பையும் அருவருப்புமாக்கினீர்.

Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

எங்கள் பகைஞர் எல்லாரும் எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தங்கள் வாயைத் திறந்தார்கள்.

All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

திகிலும் படுகுழியும் பாழ்க்கடிப்பும் சங்காரமும் எங்களுக்கு நேரிட்டது.

Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தி அடைந்த கேட்டினிமித்தம் என் கண்களிலிருந்து நீர்க்கால்கள் பாய்கிறது.

Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

கர்த்தர் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து நோக்கிப்பார்க்குமட்டும்,

Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

என் கண் இடைவிடாமல் ஓய்வின்றிச் சொரிகிறது.

Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

என் நகரத்தினுடைய குமாரத்திகள் அனைவரினிமித்தமும், என் கண் என் ஆத்துமாவுக்கு நோவுண்டாக்குகிறது.

Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

முகாந்தரம் இல்லாமல் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்கள் என்னை ஒரு பட்சியைப்போல வேட்டையாடினார்கள்.

Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

காவற்கிடங்கிலே என் பிராணனை ஒடுக்கி, என்மீதில் கல்லைவைத்தார்கள்.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

தண்ணீர் என் தலையின்மேல் புரண்டது; நாசமானேன் என்றேன்.

Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

மகா ஆழமான கிடங்கிலிருந்து, கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய நாமத்தைப்பற்றிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்.

I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டீர்; என் பெருமூச்சுக்கும் என் கூப்பிடுதலுக்கும் உமது செவியை அடைத்துக்கொள்ளாதேயும்.

Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

நான் உம்மை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டநாளிலே நீர் அணுகி: பயப்படாதே என்றீர்.

Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

ஆண்டவரே, என் ஆத்துமாவின் வழக்கை நடத்தினீர்; என் பிராணனை மீட்டுக்கொண்டீர்.

O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

கர்த்தாவே, எனக்கு உண்டான அநியாயத்தைக் கண்டீர்; என் நியாயத்தைத் தீரும்.

O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

அவர்களுடைய எல்லாக் குரோதத்தையும், அவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாக நினைத்த எல்லா நினைவுகளையும் கண்டீர்.

Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

கர்த்தாவே, அவர்கள் நிந்திக்கும் நிந்தையையும், அவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் நினைத்த எல்லா நினைவுகளையும்,

Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;

எனக்கு விரோதமா.ய் எழும்பினவர்களின் வாய்மொழிகளையும், அவர்கள் நாள்முழுவதும் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் யோசிக்கும் யோசனைகளையும் கேட்டீர்.

The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

அவர்கள் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பதையும் அவர்கள் எழுந்திருப்பதையும் நோக்கிப் பாரும்; நான் அவர்களுடைய பாடலாயிருக்கிறேன்.

Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

கர்த்தாவே, அவர்கள் கைகள் செய்த கிரியைகளுக்குத்தக்கதாக அவர்களுக்குப் பலன் அளிப்பீர்.

Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

அவர்களுக்கு இருதய வேதனையைக் கொடுப்பீர், உம்முடைய சாபம் அவர்கள்மேல் இருக்கும்.

Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

கோபமாய் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து கர்த்தருடைய வானங்களின் கீழ் இராதபடிக்கு அவர்களை அழித்துவிடுவீர்.

Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.

புலம்பல் அத்தியாயம் 4

ஐயோ! பொன் மங்கி, பசும்பொன் மாறி, பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தின் கற்கள் சகல வீதிகளின் முனையிலும் கொட்டுண்டுபோயிற்றே.

How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.

ஐயோ! தங்கத்துக்கொப்பான விலையேறப்பெற்ற சீயோன் குமாரர் குயவனுடைய கைவேலையான மண்பாண்டங்களாய் எண்ணப்படுகிறார்களே.

The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

திமிங்கிலங்கள் முதலாய்க் கொங்கைகளை நீட்டி, தங்கள் குட்டிகளுக்குப் பால் கொடுக்கும்; என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தியோ வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள தீக்குருவியைப்போல் குரூரமாயிருக்கிறாளே.

Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

குழந்தைகளின் நாவு தாகத்தால் மேல்வாயோடே ஒட்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது; பிள்ளைகள் அப்பங்கேட்கிறார்கள், அவர்களுக்கு கொடுப்பாரில்லை.

The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.

ருசியான பதார்த்தங்களைச் சாப்பிட்டவர்கள் வீதிகளில் பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிறார்கள்; இரத்தாம்பரம் உடுத்தி வளர்ந்தவர்கள் குப்பைமேடுகளை அணைத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.

They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.

கைச்செய்கை இல்லாமல் ஒரு நிமிஷத்திலே கவிழ்க்கப்பட்ட சோதோமின் பாவத்துக்கு வந்த தண்டனையைப்பார்க்கிலும் என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தியின் அக்கிரமத்துக்கு வந்த தண்டனை பெரிதாயிருக்கிறது.

For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.

அவளுடைய நசரேயர் உறைந்த மழையைப்பார்க்கிலும் சுத்தமும், பாலைப்பார்க்கிலும் வெண்மையும், பவளத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் சிவப்பும், இந்திரநீலத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் மேனியுமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:

இப்பொழுதோ அவர்களுடைய முகம் கரியிலும் கறுத்துப்போயிற்று; வீதிகளில் அறியப்படார்கள்; அவர்கள் தோல் அவர்கள் எலும்புகளோடு ஒட்டிக்கொண்டு, காய்ந்த மரத்துக்கு ஒப்பாயிற்று.

Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.

பசியினால் கொலையுண்டவர்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் பட்டயத்தால் கொலையுண்டவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் வயலின் வரத்தில்லாமையால் குத்துண்டு, கரைந்து போகிறார்கள்.

They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.

இரக்கமுள்ள ஸ்திரீகளின் கைகள் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளைச் சமைத்தன, என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தியின் அழிவில் அவைகள் அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாயின.

The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

கர்த்தர் தமது கோபத்தை நிறைவேற்றி, தமது உக்கிரகோபத்தை ஊற்றி, சீயோனில் அக்கினியைக் கொளுத்தினார்; அது அதின் அஸ்திபாரங்களைப் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது.

The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.

சத்துருவும் பகைஞனும் எருசலேமின் வாசல்களுக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பான் என்கிறதைப் பூமியின் ராஜாக்களும் பூச்சக்கரத்தின் சகல குடிகளும் நம்பமாட்டாதிருந்தார்கள்.

The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

அதின் நடுவில் நீதிமான்களின் இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தின அதின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் பாவங்களினாலும், அதின் ஆசாரியர்களின் அக்கிரமங்களினாலும் இப்படி வந்தது.

For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,

குருடர்போல வீதிகளில் அலைந்து, ஒருவரும் அவர்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தொடக்கூடாதபடி இரத்தத்தால் கறைப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்.

They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

விலகுங்கள், தீட்டுப்பட்டவர்களே, தொடாமல் விலகுங்கள், விலகுங்கள், என்று அவர்களை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள்; மெய்யாய்ப் பறந்தோடி அலைந்து போனார்கள்; இனி தங்கித் தரிக்கமாட்டார்கள் என்று புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே சொல்லப்பட்டது.

They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.

கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் அவர்களைச் சிதறடித்தது, அவர்களை இனி அவர் நோக்கார்; ஆசாரியருடைய முகத்தைப் பாராமலும் முதியோரை மதியாமலும்போனார்கள்.

The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.

இன்னும் எங்களுக்குச் சகாயம் வருமென்று நாங்கள் வீணாய் எதிர்பார்த்திருந்ததினாலே எங்கள் கண்கள் பூத்துப்போயின; இரட்சிக்கமாட்டாத ஜாதிக்கு எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தோம்.

As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.

நாங்கள் எங்கள் வீதிகளில் நடவாதபடிக்கு எங்கள் அடிச்சுவடுகளை வேட்டையாடினார்கள்; எங்கள் முடிவு சமீபித்தது; எங்கள் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறிப்போயின; எங்கள் முடிவு வந்துவிட்டது.

They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.

எங்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தவர்கள் ஆகாயத்துக் கழுகுகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் வேகமாயிருந்தார்கள்; பர்வதங்கள்மேல் எங்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தார்கள்; வனாந்தரத்தில் எங்களுக்குப் பதிவிருந்தார்கள்.

Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

கர்த்தரால் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணப்பட்டவனும், எங்கள் நாசியின் சுவாசமாயிருந்தவனும், அவர்களுடைய படுகுழியில் அகப்பட்டான்; அவனுடைய நிழலிலே ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே பிழைத்திருப்போம் என்று அவனைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லியிருந்தோமே.

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.

ஊத்ஸ்தேசவாசியாகிய ஏதோம் குமாரத்தியே, சந்தோஷித்துக் களிகூரு; பாத்திரம் உன்னிடத்திற்கும் தாண்டிவரும், அப்பொழுது நீ வெறித்து, மானபங்கமாய்க்கிடப்பாய்.

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.

சீயோன் குமாரத்தியே, உன் அக்கிரமத்துக்கு வரும் தண்டனை தீர்ந்தது; அவர் இனி உன்னை அப்புறம் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகவிடார்; ஏதோம் குமாரத்தியே, உன் அக்கிரமத்தை அவர் விசாரிப்பார்; உன் பாவங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவார்.

The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.

புலம்பல் அத்தியாயம் 5

கர்த்தாவே, எங்களுக்கு நேரிட்டதை நினைத்தருளும்; எங்கள் நிந்தையை நோக்கிப்பாரும்.

Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

எங்கள் சுதந்தரம் அந்நியர் வசமாகவும், எங்கள் வீடுகள் புறத்தேசத்தார் வசமாகவும் தாண்டிப்போயின.

Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

திக்கற்றவர்களானோம், தகப்பன் இல்லை; எங்கள் தாய்கள் விதவைகளைப்போல இருக்கிறார்கள்.

We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

எங்கள் தண்ணீரைப் பணத்துக்கு வாங்கிக்குடிக்கிறோம்; எங்கள் விறகு விலைக்கிரயமாய் வருகிறது.

We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

பாரஞ்சுமந்து எங்கள் கழுத்து நோகிறது; நாங்கள் உழைக்கிறோம், எங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் இல்லை.

Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

அப்பத்தால் திருப்தியாகும்படி எகிப்தியருக்கும் அசீரியருக்கும் எங்களைக் கையளித்தோம்.

We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

பஞ்சத்தின் கொடுமையினால் எங்கள் தோல் அடுப்பங்கரையைப்போல் கறுத்துப்போயிற்று.

Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

சீயோனில் இருந்த ஸ்திரீகளையும் யூதா பட்டணங்களில் இருந்த கன்னிகைகளையும் அவமானப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

பிரபுக்களுடைய கைகளை அவர்கள் கட்டி, அவர்களை ஏறத்தூக்கினார்கள்; முதியோரின் முகங்கள் மதிக்கப்படவில்லை.

Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

வாலிபரை எந்திரம் அரைக்கக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; இளைஞர் விறகு சுமந்து இடறிவிழுகிறார்கள்.

They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

முதியோர்கள் வாசல்களில் உட்காருகிறதும், வாலிபர் கின்னரங்களை வாசிக்கிறதும் நின்றுபோயிற்று.

The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

எங்கள் இருதயத்தின் களிகூருதல் ஒழிந்துபோயிற்று; எங்கள் சந்தோஷம் துக்கமாய் மாறிற்று.

The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

எங்கள் தலையிலிருந்து கிரீடம் விழுந்தது; ஐயோ! நாங்கள் பாவஞ்செய்தோமே.

The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

அதினால் எங்கள் இருதயம் பலட்சயமாயிற்று; அதினால் எங்கள் கண்கள் இருண்டுபோயின.

For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிற சீயோன் மலையின்மேல் நரிகள் ஓடித்திரிகிறது.

Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் என்றென்றைக்கும் இருக்கிறீர்; உம்முடைய சிங்காசனம் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக நிலைநிற்கும்.

Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

தேவரீர் என்றைக்கும் எங்களை மறந்து, நெடுங்காலமாக எங்களைக் கைவிட்டிருப்பதென்ன?

Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

கர்த்தாவே, எங்களை உம்மிடத்தில் திருப்பிக்கொள்ளும், அப்பொழுது திரும்புவோம்; பூர்வகாலத்திலிருந்ததுபோல எங்கள் நாட்களைப் புதியவைகளாக்கும்.

Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

எங்களை முற்றிலும் வெறுத்துவிடுவீரோ? எங்கள்பேரில் கடுங்கோபமாயிருக்கிறீரே!

But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

2கொரிந்தியர் அத்தியாயம் 7

இப்படிப்பட்ட வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் நமக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிறபடியினால், பிரியமானவர்களே, மாம்சத்திலும் ஆவியிலும் உண்டான எல்லா அசுசியும் நீங்க, நம்மைச் சுத்திகரித்துக்கொண்டு, பரிசுத்தமாகுதலை தேவபயத்தோடே பூரணப்படுத்தக்கடவோம்.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

எங்களுக்கு இடங்கொடுங்கள்; நாங்கள் ஒருவனுக்கும் அநியாயஞ்செய்யவில்லை, ஒருவனையும் கெடுக்கவில்லை, ஒருவனையும் வஞ்சிக்கவில்லை.

Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

உங்களைக் குற்றவாளிகளாக்கும் பொருட்டாக இப்படி நான் சொல்லுகிறதில்லை; முன்னே நான் சொல்லியபடி, உங்களுடனேகூடச் சாகவும் கூடப் பிழைக்கவுந்தக்கதாக எங்களிருதயங்களில் நீங்கள் இருக்கிறீர்களே.

I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

மிகுந்த தைரியத்தோடே உங்களுடன் பேசுகிறேன்; உங்களைக்குறித்து மிகவும் மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறேன், ஆறுதலால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறேன். எங்களுக்கு உண்டான சகல உபத்திரவத்திலேயும் பரிபூரண சந்தோஷமாயிருக்கிறேன்.

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

எப்படியென்றால், நாங்கள் மக்கெதோனியா நாட்டிலே வந்தபோது, எங்கள் சரீரத்திற்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் ஒன்றுமில்லாமல், எப்பக்கத்திலேயும் உபத்திரவப்பட்டோம்; புறம்பே போராட்டங்களும், உள்ளே பயங்களும் இருந்தன.

For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

ஆகிலும், சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் செய்கிற தேவன் தீத்து வந்ததினாலே எங்களுக்கு ஆறுதல்செய்தார்.

Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

அவன் வந்ததினாலேமாத்திரமல்ல, உங்கள் வாஞ்சையையும், உங்கள் துக்கிப்பையும், என்னைப்பற்றி உங்களுக்கு உண்டான பக்திவைராக்கியத்தையும் அவன் கண்டு, உங்களால் அடைந்த ஆறுதலைத் தெரியப்படுத்தினதினாலும், நானும் ஆறுதலடைந்து அதிகமாய்ச் சந்தோஷப்பட்டேன்.

And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

ஆதலால் நான் நிருபத்தினாலே உங்களைத் துக்கப்படுத்தியிருந்தும், அந்த நிருபம் கொஞ்சப்பொழுதாகிலும் உங்களைத் துக்கப்படுத்தினதென்று கண்டு நான் மனஸ்தாபப்பட்டிருந்தும், இப்பொழுது மனஸ்தாபப்படுதிறதில்லை.

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

இப்பொழுது சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்; நீங்கள் துக்கப்பட்டதற்காக அல்ல, மனந்திரும்புகிறதற்கேதுவாகத் துக்கப்பட்டதற்காகவே சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்; நீங்கள் ஒன்றிலும் எங்களால் நஷ்டப்படாதபடிக்கு, தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கம் அடைந்தீர்களே.

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கம் பின்பு மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறதற்கு இடமில்லாமல் இரட்சிப்புக்கேதுவான மனந்திரும்புதலை உண்டாக்குகிறது; லெளகிக துக்கமோ மரணத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறது.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

பாருங்கள், நீங்கள் தேவனுக்கேற்ற துக்கமடைந்ததுண்டே; அது உங்களிடத்தில் எவ்வளவு ஜாக்கிரதையையும், குற்றந்தீர எவ்வளவு நியாயஞ்சொல்லுதலையும், எவ்வளவு வெறுப்பையும், எவ்வளவு பயத்தையும், எவ்வளவு ஆவலையும், எவ்வளவு பக்திவைராக்கியத்தையும், எவ்வளவு கண்டிப்பையும் உண்டாக்கிற்று. இந்தக் காரியத்திலே நீங்கள் எல்லாவிதத்திலும் உங்களைச் சுத்தவான்களென்று விளங்கப்பண்ணினீர்கள்.

For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

ஆதலால் நான் உங்களுக்கு அப்படி எழுதியிருந்தும், அநியாயஞ்செய்தவனிமித்தமுமல்ல, அநியாயஞ்செய்யப்பட்டவனிமித்தமுமல்ல, தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக உங்களைக்குறித்து எங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற ஜாக்கிரதை உங்களுக்கு வெளிப்படும் பொருட்டே அப்படி எழுதினேன்.

Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.

இதினிமித்தம் நீங்கள் ஆறுதலடைந்ததினாலே நாங்களும் ஆறுதலடைந்தோம்; விசேஷமாகத் தீத்துவினுடைய ஆவி உங்கள் அனைவராலும் ஆறுதலைடந்ததினாலே, அவனுக்கு உண்டான சந்தோஷத்தினால் அதிக சந்தோஷப்பட்டோம்.

Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

இப்படியிருக்க, உங்களுக்குப் புகழ்ச்சியாய் நான் அவனுடனே சொன்ன யாதொன்றைக்குறித்தும் வெட்கப்படமாட்டேன்; நாங்கள் சகலத்தையும் உங்களுக்குச் சத்தியமாய்ச் சொன்னதுபோல, தீத்துவுடனே நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குப் புகழ்ச்சியாய்ச் சொன்னதும் சத்தியமாக விளங்கிற்றே.

For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.

மேலும் நீங்களெல்லாரும் கட்டளைக்கு அமைந்து, பயத்தோடும் நடுக்கத்தோடும் தன்னை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதை அவன் நினைக்கையில், அவனுடைய உள்ளம் உங்களைப்பற்றி அதிக அன்பாயிருக்கிறது.

And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.

ஆகையால் எல்லாவிதத்திலும் உங்களைக்குறித்து எனக்குத் திடநம்பிக்கை உண்டாயிருக்கிறதென்று சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்.

I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

அன்றியும் சகோதரரே, மக்கெதோனியா நாட்டுச் சபைகளுக்குத் தேவன் அளித்த கிருபையை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறோம்.

Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

அவர்கள் மிகுந்த உபத்திரவத்தினாலே சோதிக்கப்படுகையில், கொடிய தரித்திரமுடையவர்களாயிருந்தும், தங்கள் பரிபூரண சந்தோஷத்தினாலே மிகுந்த உதாரத்துவமாய்க் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

மேலும் அவர்கள் தங்கள் திராணிக்குத்தக்கதாகவும், தங்கள் திராணிக்கு மிஞ்சியும் கொடுக்க, தாங்களே மனதுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்தார்களென்பதற்கு, நான் சாட்சியாயிருக்கிறேன்.

For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

தங்கள் உபகாரத்தையும், பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்குச் செய்யப்படும் தர்ம ஊழியத்தின்பங்கையும் நாங்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்கள் எங்களை மிகவும் வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

மேலும் நாங்கள் நினைத்தபடிமாத்திரம் கொடாமல், தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தினாலே முன்பு தங்களைத்தாமே கர்த்தருக்கும், பின்பு எங்களுக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்கள்.

And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

ஆதலால் தீத்து இந்தத் தர்மகாரியத்தை உங்களிடத்தில் தொடங்கினபடியே, அதை முடிக்கவும் வேண்டுமென்று அவனைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டோம்.

Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

அல்லாமலும், விசுவாசத்திலும், போதிப்பிலும், அறிவிலும், எல்லாவித ஜாக்கிரதையிலும், எங்கள்மேலுள்ள உங்கள் அன்பிலும், மற்றெல்லாக் காரியங்களிலும், நீங்கள் பெருகியிருக்கிறதுபோல, இந்தத் தர்மகாரியத்திலும் பெருகவேண்டும்.

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

இதை நான் கட்டளையாகச் சொல்லாமல், மற்றவர்களுடைய ஜாக்கிரதையைக்கொண்டு, உங்கள் அன்பின் உண்மையைச் சோதிக்கும்பொருட்டே சொல்லுகிறேன்.

I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே; அவர் ஐசுவரியமுள்ளவராயிருந்தும், நீங்கள் அவருடைய தரித்திரத்தினாலே ஐசுவரியவான்களாகும்படிக்கு, உங்கள்நிமித்தம் தரித்திரரானாரே.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

இதைக்குறித்து என் யோசனையை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறேன்; இதைச் செய்கிறதற்கு மாத்திரமல்ல, செய்யவேண்டுமென்று உற்சாகப்படுகிறதற்கும் ஒரு வருஷமாய் ஆரம்பம்பண்ணின உங்களுக்கு இது தகுதியாயிருக்கும்.

And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

ஆகையால் அதை இப்பொழுது செய்து நிறைவேற்றுங்கள்; கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்கிற விருப்பமுண்டாயிருந்ததுபோல, உங்களுக்கு உள்ளவைகளில் எடுத்து அதை நிறைவேற்றுதலும் உண்டாவதாக.

Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

ஒருவனுக்கு மனவிருப்பமிருந்தால், அவனுக்கு இல்லாததின்படியல்ல, அவனுக்கு உள்ளதின்படியே அங்கிகரிக்கப்படும்.

For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

மற்றவர்களுக்குச் சகாயமும் உங்களுக்கு வருத்தமும் உண்டாகும்படியல்ல, சமநிலையிருக்கும்படியாகவே சொல்லுகிறேன்.

For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

எப்படியெனில், மிகுதியாய்ச் சேர்த்தவனுக்கு அதிகமானதுமில்லை, கொஞ்சமாய்ச் சேர்த்தவனுக்குக் குறைவானதுமில்லை என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபிரகாரம்,

But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

சமநிலைப் பிரமாணத்தின்படியே, அவர்களுடைய செல்வம் உங்கள் வறுமைக்கு உதவும்படிக்கு இக்காலத்திலே உங்களுடைய செல்வம் அவர்களுடைய வறுமைக்கு உதவுவதாக.

As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

அன்றியும் உங்களுக்காக இப்படிப்பட்ட ஜாக்கிரதை உண்டாயிருக்கும்படி தீத்துவின் இருதயத்தில் அருளின தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

நாங்கள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டதை அவன் அங்கிகரித்ததுமல்லாமல், அவன் அதிக ஜாக்கிரதையாயிருந்து, தன் மனவிருப்பத்தின்படியே உங்களிடத்திற்கு வரப் புறப்பட்டான்.

For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

சுவிசேஷ ஊழியத்தில் எல்லாச் சபைகளிலும் புகழ்ச்சிபெற்ற ஒரு சகோதரனை அவனோடேகூட அனுப்பியிருக்கிறோம்.

And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;

அதுமாத்திரமல்ல, கர்த்தருக்கு மகிமையுண்டாகவும், உங்கள் மனவிருப்பம் விளங்கவும், எங்கள் ஊழியத்தினாலே சேர்க்கப்படும் தர்மப்பணத்தைக் கொண்டுபோகையில், எங்களுக்கு வழித்துணையாயிருக்கும்படி, அவன் சபைகளால் தெரிந்து ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டவனாயும் இருக்கிறான்.

And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

எங்கள் ஊழியத்தினாலே சேர்க்கப்படும் இந்த மிகுதியான தர்மப்பணத்தைக்குறித்து ஒருவனும் எங்களைக் குற்றப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு நாங்கள் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து,

Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:

கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக மாத்திரமல்ல, மனுஷருக்கு முன்பாகவும் யோக்கியமானவைகளைச் செய்ய நாடுகிறோம்.

Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

மேலும், அநேக காரியங்களில் ஜாக்கிரதையுள்ளவனென்று நாங்கள் பலமுறை கண்டறிந்தவனும், இப்பொழுது உங்கள்மேலுள்ள மிகுந்த நம்பிக்கையினாலே அதிக ஜாக்கிரதையுள்ளவனுமாகிய நம்முடைய சகோதரனையும் இவர்களோடேகூட அனுப்பியிருக்கிறோம்.

And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.

தீத்துவைக்குறித்து ஒருவன் விசாரித்தால், அவன் எனக்குக் கூட்டாளியும், உங்களுக்காக என் உடன்வேலையாளுமாயிருக்கிறானென்றும்; எங்கள் சகோதரரைக்குறித்து ஒருவன் விசாரித்தால், அவர்கள் சபைகளுடைய ஸ்தானாபதிகளும், கிறிஸ்துவுக்கு மகிமையுமாயிருக்கிறார்களென்றும் அறியக்கடவன்.

Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.

ஆதலால் உங்கள் அன்பையும், நாங்கள் உங்களைக்குறித்துச் சொன்ன புகழ்ச்சியையும், சபைகளுக்கு முன்பாக அவர்களுக்குத் திருஷ்டாந்தப்படுத்துங்கள்.

Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
