ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 36

எசேக்கியா ராஜா அரசாண்ட பதினாலாம் வருஷத்திலே அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் யூதாவிலிருக்கிற அரணான சகல பட்டணங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாய் வந்து, அவைகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.

Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them.

அப்பொழுது அசீரியா ராஜா லாகீசிலிருந்து ரப்சாக்கேயைப் பெரிய சேனையோடே எருசலேமுக்கு எசேக்கியா ராஜாவினிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான்; அவன் வந்து வண்ணார்துறையின் வழியிலுள்ள மேல்குளத்துச் சாலகத்தண்டையிலே நின்றான்.

And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem unto king Hezekiah with a great army. And he stood by the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field.

அப்பொழுது இல்க்கியாவின் குமாரனாகிய எலியாக்கீம் என்னும் அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனும், செப்னா என்னும் சம்பிரதியும், ஆசாப்பின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாக் என்னும் கணக்கனும் அவனிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.

Then came forth unto him Eliakim, Hilkiah's son, which was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, Asaph's son, the recorder.

ரப்சாக்கே அவர்களை நோக்கி: அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய மகாராஜாவானவர் உரைக்கிறதும், நீங்கள் எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியதும் என்னவென்றால்: நீ நம்பியிருக்கிற இந்த நம்பிக்கை என்ன?

And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?

யுத்தத்துக்கு மந்திராலோசனையும் வல்லமையும் உண்டென்று சொல்லுகிறாயே, அது வாய்ப்பேச்சேயன்றி வேறல்ல; நீ என்னை விரோதிக்கும்படி யார்மேல் நம்பிக்கைவைத்திருக்கிறாய்?

I say, sayest thou, (but they are but vain words) I have counsel and strength for war: now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?

இதோ, நெரிந்த நாணல்கோலாகிய அந்த எகிப்தை நம்புகிறாய்; அதின்மேல் ஒருவன் சாய்ந்தால், அது அவன் உள்ளங்கையில் பட்டுருவிப்போகும்; எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோன் தன்னை நம்புகிற யாவருக்கும் அப்படியே இருப்பான்.

Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.

நீ என்னிடத்தில்: நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நம்புகிறோம் என்று சொல்வாயாகில், அவருடைய மேடைகளையும் அவருடைய பலிபீடங்களையும் அல்லவோ எசேக்கியா அகற்றி, யூதாவையும், எருசலேமையும் நோக்கி: இந்தப் பலிபீடத்தின்முன் பணியுங்கள் என்றானே.

But if thou say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?

நான் உனக்கு இரண்டாயிரம் குதிரைகளைக் கொடுப்பேன்; நீ அவைகள்மேல் ஏறத்தக்கவர்களைச் சம்பாதிக்கக்கூடுமானால் அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனோடே சபதங்கூறு.

Now therefore give pledges, I pray thee, to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.

கூறாதேபோனால், நீ என் ஆண்டவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரரில் ஒரே ஒரு சிறிய தலைவனுடைய முகத்தை எப்படித் திருப்புவாய்? இரதங்களோடு குதிரைவீரரும் வருவார்கள் என்று எகிப்தையா நம்புகிறாய்?

How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

இப்பொழுதும் கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையில்லாமல் இந்தத் தேசத்தை அழிக்க வந்தேனோ? இந்தத் தேசத்துக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் போய் அதை அழித்துப்போடு என்று கர்த்தர் என்னோடே சொன்னாரே என்று சொன்னான்.

And am I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it? the LORD said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

அப்பொழுது எலியாக்கீமும் செப்னாவும் யோவாக்கும், ரப்சாக்கேயைப் பார்த்து: உம்முடைய அடியாரோடே சீரியபாஷையிலே பேசும், அது எங்களுக்குத் தெரியும்; அலங்கத்திலிருக்கிற ஜனத்தின் செவிகள் கேட்க எங்களோடே யூதபாஷையிலே பேசவேண்டாம் என்றார்கள்.

Then said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, unto thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and speak not to us in the Jews' language, in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

அதற்கு ரப்சாக்கே: உங்களோடுங்கூடத் தங்கள் மலத்தைத் தின்னவும், தங்கள் நீரைக் குடிக்கவும், அலங்கத்திலே தங்கியிருக்கிற புருஷரண்டைக்கே அல்லாமல், உன் ஆண்டவனண்டைக்கும், உன்னண்டைக்குமா, என் ஆண்டவன் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைப் பேச என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்று சொல்லி;

But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

ரப்சாக்கே நின்றுகொண்டு, யூதபாஷையிலே உரத்தசத்தமாய்: அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய மகாராஜாவுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளுங்கள்.

Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.

எசேக்கியா உங்களை வஞ்சியாதபடி பாருங்கள்; அவன் உங்களைத் தப்புவிக்கமாட்டான்.

Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you.

கர்த்தர் நம்மை நிச்சயமாய்த் தப்புவிப்பார், இந்த நகரம் அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை என்று சொல்லி, எசேக்கியா உங்களைக் கர்த்தரை நம்பப்பண்ணுவான்; அதற்கு இடங்கொடாதிருங்கள் என்று ராஜா சொல்லுகிறார்.

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

எசேக்கியாவின் சொல்லைக் கேளாதிருங்கள். அசீரியா ராஜா சொல்லுகிறதாவது: நீங்கள் என்னோடே இராசியாகி, காணிக்கையோடே என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள்.

Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me: and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern;

நான் வந்து, உங்களைத் தானியமும் திராட்சத்தோட்டமுமுள்ள தேசமும், அப்பமும் திராட்சரசமுமுள்ள தேசமுமாகிய உங்கள் தேசத்துக்கு ஒப்பான தேசத்துக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகுமளவும், அவனவன் தன்தன் திராட்சச்செடியின் கனியையும், தன்தன் அத்திமரத்தின் கனியையும் புசித்து, அவனவன் தன் தன் கிணற்றின் தண்ணீரைக் குடியுங்கள்.

Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.

கர்த்தர் நம்மைத் தப்புவிப்பார் என்று உங்களைப் போதனைசெய்ய எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் செவிகொடாதிருங்கள்; ஜாதிகளுடைய தேவர்களில் யாராவது தங்கள் தேசத்தை அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்ததுண்டோ?

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

ஆமாத் அர்பாத் பட்டணங்களின் தேவர்கள் எங்கே? செப்பர்வாயீமின் தேவர்கள் எங்கே? அவர்கள் சமாரியாவை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்ததுண்டோ?

Where are the gods of Hamath and Arphad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim? and have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

கர்த்தர் எருசலேமை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பார் என்பதற்கு, அந்தத் தேசங்களுடைய எல்லா தேவர்களுக்குள்ளும் தங்கள் தேசத்தை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்தவர் யார் என்று ராஜா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

Who are they among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?

அவர்களோ அவனுக்கு ஒரு வார்த்தையையும் பிரதியுத்தரமாகச் சொல்லாமல் மவுனமாயிருந்தார்கள்; அவனுக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்று ராஜா கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தான்.

But they held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.

அப்பொழுது இல்க்கியாவின் குமாரனாகிய எலியாக்கீம் என்னும் அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனும், செப்னா என்னும் சம்பிரதியும், ஆசாப்பின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாக் என்னும் கணக்கனும், வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, எசேக்கியாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, ரப்சாக்கேயின் வார்த்தைகளை அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

Then came Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, that was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph, the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 37

ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக்கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து,

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய எலியாக்கீமையும், சம்பிரதியாகிய செப்னாவையும், ஆசாரியர்களின் மூப்பரையும், ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியினிடத்திற்கு இரட்டு உடுத்தவர்களாக அனுப்பினான்.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

இவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: இந்த நாள் நெருக்கமும், கண்டிதமும், தூஷணமும் அநுபவிக்கிற நாள்; பிள்ளைப்பேறு நோக்கியிருக்கிறது; பெறவோ பெலன் இல்லை.

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படி, அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தன் ஆண்டவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட ரப்சாக்கே சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்; உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிற வார்த்தைகளினிமித்தம் தண்டனை செய்வார்; ஆகையால், இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்வீராக என்று எசேக்கியா சொல்லச்சொன்னார் என்றார்கள்.

It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.

இவ்விதமாய் எசேக்கியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் ஏசாயாவினிடத்தில் வந்து சொன்னார்கள்.

So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா அவர்களை நோக்கி: அசீரியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் என்னைத் தூஷித்ததும் நீர் கேட்டதுமான வார்த்தைகளினாலே பயப்படாதேயும்.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

இதோ, அவன் ஒரு செய்தியைக் கேட்டு, தன் தேசத்துக்குத் திரும்புவதற்கான ஆவியை நான் அவனுக்குள் அனுப்பி, அவனை அவன் தேசத்திலே பட்டயத்தால் விழப்பண்ணுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்பதை உங்கள் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

அசீரியா ராஜா லாகீசை விட்டுப்புறப்பட்டான் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டு, ரப்சாக்கே திரும்பிப்போய், அவன் லிப்னாவின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டான்.

So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

அப்பொழுது, எத்தியோப்பியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய திராக்கா உம்மோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணப் புறப்பட்டான் என்று சொல்லக் கேள்விப்பட்டான்; அதைக் கேட்டபோது அவன் எசேக்கியாவினிடத்துக்கு ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி:

And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

நீங்கள் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால், எருசலேம் அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை என்று நீ நம்பியிருக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னை எத்தவொட்டாதே.

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

இதோ, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் சகல தேசங்களையும் சங்கரித்த செய்தியை நீ கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறாய்; நீ தப்புவாயோ?

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?

என் பிதாக்கள் அழித்துவிட்ட கோசானையும், ஆரானையும், ரேத்சேப்பையும், தெலாசாரிலிருந்த ஏதேனின் புத்திரரையும் அவர்களுடைய தேவர்கள் தப்புவித்ததுண்டோ?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Telassar?

ஆமாத்தின் ராஜாவும், அர்பாத்தின் ராஜாவும், செப்பர்வாயீம் ஏனா ஈவா பட்டணங்களின் ராஜாவும் எங்கே என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?

எசேக்கியா ஸ்தானாபதிகளின் கையிலிருந்த நிருபத்தை வாங்கி வாசித்தான்; பின்பு எசேக்கியா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போய் அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக விரித்து,

And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

கர்த்தரை நோக்கி:

And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, கேருபீன்களின் மத்தியில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனே, நீர் ஒருவரே பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்களுக்கெல்லாம் தேவனானவர்; நீர் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கினீர்.

O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

கர்த்தாவே, உமது செவியைச் சாய்த்துக்கேளும்; கர்த்தாவே, நீர் உமது கண்களைத் திறந்துபாரும், சனகெரிப் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படிக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பின வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் கேளும்.

Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.

கர்த்தாவே, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் அந்த ஜாதிகளையும், அவர்கள் தேசத்தையும் நாசமாக்கி,

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,

அவர்களுடைய தேவர்களை நெருப்பிலே போட்டுவிட்டது மெய்தான்; அவைகள் தேவர்கள் அல்லவே, மனுஷர் கைவேலையான மரமும் கல்லுந்தானே; ஆகையால் அவைகளை நிர்த்தூளியாக்கினார்கள்.

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

இப்போதும் எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் ஒருவரே கர்த்தர் என்று பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்களெல்லாம் அறியும்படிக்கு, எங்களை அவன் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சியும் என்று விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணினான்.

Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.

அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா, எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பினது: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிபினிமித்தம் நீ என்னை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினாயே.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:

அவனைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிற வசனமாவது: சீயோன் குமாரத்தியாகிய கன்னியாஸ்திரீ உன்னை இகழ்ந்து, உன்னைப் பரிகாசம்பண்ணுகிறாள்; எருசலேம் குமாரத்தி உன் பின்னாலே தலையைத் துலுக்குகிறாள்.

This is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

யாரை நிந்தித்துத் தூஷித்தாய்? யாருக்கு விரோதமாய் உன் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்தினாய்? நீ இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தருக்கு விரோதமாய் அல்லவோ உன் கண்களை மேட்டிமையாய் ஏறெடுத்தாய்.

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

உன் ஊழியக்காரரைக்கொண்டு நீ ஆண்டவரை நிந்தித்து: என் இரதங்களின் திரளினாலே நான் மலைகளின் கொடுமுடிகளுக்கும் லீபனோனின் சிகரங்களுக்கும் வந்து ஏறினேன்; அதின் உயரமான கேதுருமரங்களையும், உச்சிதமான தேவதாரு விருட்சங்களையும் நான் வெட்டி, உயர்ந்த அதின் கடைசி எல்லைமட்டும், அதின் செழுமையான வனமட்டும் வருவேன் என்றும்,

By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.

நான் கிணறு வெட்டித் தண்ணீர் குடித்தேன்; என் உள்ளங்காலினால் அரணிப்பான இடங்களின் அகழிகளையெல்லாம் வறளவும்பண்ணினேன் என்றும் சொன்னாய்.

I have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.

நான் வெகுகாலத்துக்குமுன் அதை நியமித்து, பூர்வநாட்கள்முதல் அதைத் திட்டம்பண்ணினேன் என்பதை நீ கேட்டதில்லையோ? இப்பொழுது நீ அரணான பட்டணங்களைப் பாழான மண்மேடுகளாக்கும்படி நானே அதைச் சம்பவிக்கப்பண்ணினேன்.

Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into ruinous heaps.

அதினாலே அவைகளின் குடிகள் கையிளைத்தவர்களாகி, கலங்கி வெட்கப்பட்டு, வெளியின் பூண்டுக்கும், பச்சிலைக்கும், வீடுகளின்மேல் முளைக்கும் புல்லுக்கும், ஓங்கி வளருமுன் தீய்ந்துபோகும் பயிருக்கும் சமானமானார்கள்.

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

உன் இருப்பையும், உன் போக்கையும், உன் வரவையும், நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கொந்தளிக்கிறதையும் அறிவேன்.

But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்த் கொந்தளித்து, வீரியம்பேசினது என் செவிகளில் ஏறினபடியினாலே, நான் என் துறட்டை உன் மூக்கிலும் என் கடிவாளத்தை உன் வாயிலும் போட்டு, நீ வந்த வழியே உன்னைத் திரும்பப்பண்ணுவேன்.

Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

உனக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பது என்னவென்றால்: இந்த வருஷத்திலே தப்பிப் பயிராகிறதையும், இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே தானாய் விளைகிறதையும் சாப்பிடுவீர்கள்; மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலோ விதைத்து அறுத்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களை நாட்டி, அவைகளின் கனிகளைப் புசிப்பீர்கள்.

And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.

யூதா வம்சத்தாரில் தப்பி மீந்திருக்கிறவர்கள் மறுபடியும் கீழே வேர்பற்றி மேலே கனிகொடுப்பார்கள்.

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் எருசலேமிலும், தப்பினவர்கள் சீயோன் மலையிலுமிருந்து புறப்படுவார்கள்; சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் வைராக்கியம் இதைச் செய்யும்.

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் அசீரியா ராஜாவைக்குறித்து: அவன் இந்த நகரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை; இதின்மேல் அம்பு எய்வதுமில்லை; இதற்கு முன்பாகக் கேடகத்தோடே வருவதுமில்லை; இதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளம் போடுவதுமில்லை.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.

அவன் இந்த நகரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசியாமல், தான் வந்தவழியே திரும்பிப்போவான்.

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

என்னிமித்தமும் என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதினிமித்தமும், நான் இந்த நகரத்தை இரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு இதற்கு ஆதரவாயிருப்பேன் என்பதைக் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினான்.

For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் புறப்பட்டு, அசீரியரின் பாளயத்தில் லட்சத்தெண்பத்தையாயிரம் பேரைச் சங்கரித்தான்; அதிகாலமே எழுந்திருக்கும்போது, இதோ, அவர்களெல்லாரும் செத்த பிரேதங்களாய்க் கிடந்தார்கள்.

Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

அப்பொழுது அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் பிராயணப்பட்டுத் திரும்பிப்போய், நினிவேயில் இருந்துவிட்டான்.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

அவன் தன் தேவனாகிய நிஸ்ரோகின் கோவிலிலே பணிந்துகொள்ளுகிறபோது, அவன் குமாரராகிய அத்ரமலேக்கும் சரேத்சேரும் அவனைப் பட்டயத்தினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, அரராத் தேசத்துக்குத் தப்பி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய எசரத்தோன் அவன் பட்டத்திற்கு வந்து அரசாண்டான்.

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

அப்போஸ்தலர் அத்தியாயம் 10

இத்தாலியா பட்டாளம் என்னப்பட்ட பட்டாளத்திலே நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதியாகிய கொர்நேலியு என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் செசரியா பட்டணத்திலே இருந்தான்.

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

அவன் தேவபக்தியுள்ளவனும் தன் வீட்டாரனைவரோடும் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்தவனுமாயிருந்து, ஜனங்களுக்கு மிகுந்த தருமங்களைச் செய்து, எப்பொழுதும் தேவனை நோக்கி ஜெபம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

பகலில் ஏறக்குறைய ஒன்பதாம்மணி நேரத்திலே தேவனுடைய தூதன் தன்னிடத்தில் வரவும், கொர்நேலியுவே, என்று அழைக்கவும் பிரத்தியட்சமாய்த் தரிசனங்கண்டு,

He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

அவனை உற்றுப்பார்த்து, பயந்து: ஆண்டவரே, என்ன என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவன்: உன் ஜெபங்களும் உன் தருமங்களும் தேவனுக்கு நினைப்பூட்டுதலாக அவர் சந்நிதியில் வந்தெட்டியிருக்கிறது.

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

இப்பொழுது நீ யோப்பா பட்டணத்துக்கு மனுஷரை அனுப்பி, பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர்கொண்ட சீமோனை அழைப்பி.

And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

அவன் தோல் பதனிடுகிறவனாகிய சீமோன் என்னும் ஒருவனிடத்தில் தங்கியிருக்கிறான்; அவனுடைய வீடு கடலோரத்திலிருக்கிறது. நீ செய்யவேண்டியதை அவன் உனக்குச் சொல்லுவான் என்றான்.

He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

கொர்நேலியு தன்னுடனே பேசின தேவதூதன் போனபின்பு, தன் வீட்டு மனுஷரில் இரண்டுபேரையும் தன்னிடத்தில் சேவிக்கிற போர்ச்சேவகரில் தேவபக்தியுள்ள ஒருவனையும் அழைத்து,

And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துச் சொல்லி, அவர்களை யோப்பா பட்டணத்துக்கு அனுப்பினான்.

And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

மறுநாளிலே அவர்கள் பிரயாணப்பட்டு, அந்தப் பட்டணத்துக்குச் சமீபித்துவருகையில், பேதுரு ஆறாம்மணி நேரத்திலே ஜெபம்பண்ணும்படி மேல் வீட்டில் ஏறினான்.

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

அவன் மிகுந்த பசியடைந்து சாப்பிட மனதாயிருந்தான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுகையில், அவன் ஞானதிருஷ்டியடைந்து,

And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

வானம் திறந்திருக்கிறதாகவும், நாலுமுனைகளும் கட்டப்பட்ட பெரிய துப்பட்டியைப்போல ஒருவிதமான கூடு தன்னிடத்தில் இறங்கித் தரையில் விடப்பட்டிருக்கிறதாகவும்,

And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

அதிலே பூமியிலுள்ள சகலவிதமான நாலுகால் ஜீவன்களும், காட்டுமிருகங்களும், ஊரும் பிராணிகளும், ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளும் இருக்கிறதாகவும் கண்டான்.

Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

அல்லாமலும்: பேதுருவே, எழுந்திரு, அடித்துப் புசி என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லும் ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டாயிற்று.

And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

அதற்குப் பேதுரு: அப்படியல்ல, ஆண்டவரே, தீட்டும் அசுத்தமுமாயிருக்கிற யாதொன்றையும் நான் ஒருக்காலும் புசித்ததில்லை என்றான்.

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

அப்பொழுது: தேவன் சுத்தமாக்கினவைகளை நீ தீட்டாக எண்ணாதே என்று இரண்டாந்தரமும் சத்தம் அவனுக்கு உண்டாயிற்று.

And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

மூன்றாந்தரமும் அப்படியே உண்டாயிற்று. பின்பு அந்தக் கூடு திரும்ப வானத்துக்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

அப்பொழுது பேதுரு, தான் கண்ட தரிசனத்தைக்குறித்துத் தனக்குள்ளே சந்தேகப்படுகையில், இதோ, கொர்நேலியுவினால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட மனுஷர்கள் சீமோனுடைய வீட்டை விசாரித்துக்கொண்டு வாசற்படியிலே வந்து நின்று:

Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர்கொண்ட சீமோன் இங்கே தங்கியிருக்கிறாரா என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

பேதுரு அந்தத் தரிசனத்தைக்குறித்துச் சிந்தனைபண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஆவியானவர்: இதோ, மூன்று மனுஷர் உன்னைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்.

While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

நீ எழுந்து, இறங்கி, ஒன்றுக்கும் சந்தேகப்படாமல், அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போ; நானே அவர்களை அனுப்பினேன் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொன்னார்.

Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

அப்பொழுது பேதுரு கொர்நேலியுவினால் தன்னிடத்தில் அனுப்பப்பட்ட மனுஷரிடத்திற்கு இறங்கிப்போய்: இதோ, நீங்கள் தேடுகிறவன் நான்தான், நீங்கள் வந்திருக்கிற காரியம் என்ன என்றான்.

Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீதிமானும், தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவரும், யூதஜனங்களெல்லாராலும் நல்லவரென்று சாட்சி பெற்றவருமாகிய கொர்நேலியு என்னும் நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதி உம்மைத் தம்முடைய வீட்டுக்கு அழைப்பித்து, உம்மால் சொல்லப்படும் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்கும்படி பரிசுத்த தூதனாலே தேவயத்தனமாய்க் கட்டளைப்பெற்றார் என்றார்கள்.

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவர்களை உள்ளே அழைத்து, அவர்களுக்கு உபசாரஞ்செய்து, மறுநாளிலே அவர்களுடனே கூடப் புறப்பட்டான்; யோப்பா பட்டணத்தாராகிய சகோதரரில் சிலரும் அவனுடனேகூடப் போனார்கள்.

Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

மறுநாளிலே செசரியா பட்டணத்தில் பிரவேசித்தார்கள். கொர்நேலியு தன் உறவின் முறையாரையும் தன்னுடைய விசேஷித்த சிநேகிதரையும் கூடவரவழைத்து, அவர்களுக்காகக் காத்திருந்தான்.

And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

பேதுரு உள்ளே பிரவேசிக்கிறபொழுது, கொர்நேலியு அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், அவன் பாதத்தில் விழுந்து, பணிந்துகொண்டான்.

And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

பேதுரு அவனைத் தூக்கியெடுத்து: எழுந்திரும், நானும் ஒரு மனுஷன்தான் என்றான்.

But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

அவனுடனே பேசிக்கொண்டு, உள்ளேபோய், அநேகர் கூடிவந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு,

And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

அவர்களை நோக்கி: அந்நிய ஜாதியானோடே கலந்து அவனிடத்தில் போக்குவரவாயிருப்பது யூதனானவனுக்கு விலக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறதென்று நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியிருந்தும், எந்த மனுஷனையும் தீட்டுள்ளவனென்றும் அசுத்தனென்றும் நான் சொல்லாதபடிக்கு தேவன் எனக்குக் காண்பித்திருக்கிறார்.

And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

ஆகையால் நீங்கள் என்னை அழைப்பித்தபோது நான் எதிர்பேசாமல் வந்தேன். இப்போதும் என்ன காரியத்துக்காக என்னை அழைப்பித்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்கிறேன் என்றான்.

Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

அதற்குக் கொர்நேலியு: நாலு நாளைக்கு முன்னே இந்நேரத்திலே நான் உபவாசித்து, ஒன்பதாம்மணி நேரத்தில் என் வீட்டிலே ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்; அப்பொழுது பிரகாசமுள்ள வஸ்திரந்தரித்த மனுஷன் ஒருவன் எனக்கு முன்பாக நின்று:

And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

கொர்நேலியுவே, உன் ஜெபம் கேட்கப்பட்டது, உன் தானதருமங்கள் தேவசந்நிதியில் நினைத்தருளப்பட்டது.

And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

யோப்பா பட்டணத்துக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி, பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர் கொண்ட சீமோனை வரவழைப்பாயாக, அவன் கடலோரத்திலே தோல்பதனிடுகிறவனாகிய சீமோனுடைய வீட்டிலே தங்கியிருக்கிறான்; அவன் வந்து உன்னிடத்தில் பேசுவான் என்றார்.

Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

அந்தப்படியே நான் உடனே உம்மிடத்திற்கு ஆள் அனுப்பினேன்; நீர் வந்தது நல்ல காரியம்; தேவனாலே உமக்குக் கட்டளையிடப்பட்ட யாவையும் கேட்கும்படிக்கு நாங்கள் எல்லாரும் இப்பொழுது இங்கே தேவசமுகத்தில் கூடியிருக்கிறோம் என்றான்.

Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

அப்பொழுது பேதுரு பேசத்தொடங்கி: தேவன் பட்சபாதமுள்ளவரல்ல என்றும்,

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

எந்த ஜனத்திலாயினும் அவருக்குப் பயந்திருந்து நீதியைச் செய்கிறவன் எவனோ அவனே அவருக்கு உகந்தவன் என்றும் நிச்சயமாய் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்.

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

எல்லாருக்கும் கர்த்தராயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைக்கொண்டு அவர் சமாதானத்தைச் சுவிசேஷமாய்க் கூறி, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு அனுப்பின வார்த்தையை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே.

The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

யோவான் ஞானஸ்நானத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கித்தபின்பு, கலிலேயா நாடு முதற்கொண்டு யூதேயா தேசமெங்கும் நடந்த சங்கதி இதுவே.

That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவை தேவன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலும் வல்லமையினாலும் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினார்; தேவன் அவருடனேகூட இருந்தபடியினாலே அவர் நன்மைசெய்கிறவராயும் பிசாசின் வல்லமையில் அகப்பட்ட யாவரையும் குணமாக்குகிறவராயும் சுற்றித்திரிந்தார்.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

யூதருடைய தேசத்திலும் எருசலேமிலும் அவர் செய்தவைகளெல்லாவற்றிற்கும் நாங்கள் சாட்சிகளாயிருக்கிறோம். அவரை மரத்திலே தூக்கிக் கொலைசெய்தார்கள்.

And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

மூன்றாம் நாளிலே தேவன் அவரை எழுப்பிப் பிரத்தியட்சமாய்க் காணும்படி செய்தார்.

Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

ஆயினும் எல்லா ஜனங்களுக்கும் பிரத்தியட்சமாகும்படி செய்யாமல், அவர் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்தபின்பு அவரோடே புசித்துக் குடித்தவர்களும் தேவனால் முன்பு நியமிக்கப்பட்ட சாட்சிகளுமாகிய எங்களுக்கே பிரத்தியட்சமாகும்படி செய்தார்.

Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

அன்றியும் அவரே உயிரோடிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் மரித்தோர்களுக்கும் தேவனால் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்ட நியாயாதிபதியென்று ஜனங்களுக்குப் பிரசங்கிக்கவும், சாட்சியாக ஒப்புவிக்கவும், அவர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

அவரை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் எவனோ அவன் அவருடைய நாமத்தினாலே பாவமன்னிப்பைப் பெறுவானென்று தீர்க்கதரிசிகளெல்லாரும் அவரைக்குறித்தே சாட்சிகொடுக்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

இந்த வார்த்தைகளைப் பேதுரு பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில் வசனத்தைக் கேட்டவர்கள் யாவர்மேலும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் இறங்கினார்.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

அவர்கள் பல பாஷைகளைப் பேசுகிறதையும், தேவனைப் புகழுகிறதையும்,

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

பேதுருவோடேகூட வந்திருந்த விருத்தசேதனமுள்ள விசுவாசிகள் கேட்கும்போது, பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் வரம் புறஜாதிகள்மேலும், பொழிந்தருளப்பட்டதைக்குறித்துப் பிரமித்தார்கள்.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

அப்பொழுது பேதுரு: நம்மைப்போல பரிசுத்த ஆவியைப் பெற்ற இவர்களும் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறாதபடிக்கு எவனாகிலும் தண்ணீரை விலக்கலாமா என்று சொல்லி,

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தினாலே அவர்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுக்கும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான். அப்பொழுது சிலநாள் அங்கே தங்கும்படி அவனை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
