ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 21

கடல் வனாந்தரத்தின் பாரம். சுழல் காற்று தென்திசையிலிருந்து எழும்பிக் கடந்து வருகிறதுபோல, பயங்கரமான தேசமாகிய வனாந்தரத்திலிருந்து அது வருகிறது.

The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.

கொடிய தரிசனம் எனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது; துரோகி துரோகம்பண்ணி, பாழாக்குகிறவன் பாழாக்கிக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறான்; ஏலாமே எழும்பு; மேதியாவே முற்றிக்கைபோடு; அதினாலே உண்டான தவிப்பையெல்லாம் ஒழியப்பண்ணினேன்.

A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.

ஆகையால், என் இடுப்பு மகாவேதனையால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது; பிள்ளைபெறுகிறவளின் வேதனைகளுக்கு ஒத்த வேதனைகள் என்னைப் பிடித்தது; கேட்டதினால் உளைவுகொண்டு, கண்டதினால் கலங்கினேன்.

Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

என் இருதயம் திகைத்தது; திகில் என்னைத் திடுக்கிடப்பண்ணிற்று; எனக்கு இன்பந்தந்த இரவு பயங்கரமாயிற்று.

My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.

பந்தியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துங்கள், ஜாமக்காரரை வையுங்கள், புசியுங்கள், குடியுங்கள், பிரபுக்களே, எழுந்து பரிசைகளுக்கு எண்ணெய் பூசுங்கள்.

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

ஆண்டவர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ போய், காண்பதைத் தெரிவிக்கும்படி ஜாமக்காரனை வை என்றார்.

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

அவன் ஒரு இரதத்தையும், ஜோடுஜோடான குதிரைவீரனையும், ஜோடுஜோடாகக் கழுதைகளின்மேலும் ஒட்டகங்களின்மேலும் ஏறிவருகிறவர்களையும் கண்டு, மிகுந்த கவனமாய்க் கவனித்துக்கொண்டே இருந்து:

And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:

ஆண்டவரே, நான் பகல்முழுதும் என் காவலிலே நின்று, இராமுழுதும் நான் என் காவலிடத்திலே தரித்திருக்கிறேன் என்று சிங்கத்தைப்போல் சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிடுகிறான்.

And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:

இதோ, ஒரு ஜோடு குதிரை பூண்ட இரதத்தின்மேல் ஏறியிருக்கிற ஒரு மனுஷன் வருகிறான்; பாபிலோன் விழுந்தது, விழுந்தது; அதின் விக்கிரக தேவர்களையெல்லாம் தரையோடே மோதி உடைத்தார் என்று பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுகிறான்.

And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

என் போரடிப்பின் தானியமே, என் களத்தின் கோதுமையே, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரால் நான் கேள்விப்பட்டதை உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தேன்.

O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

தூமாவின் பாரம். சேயீரிலிருந்து என்னை நோக்கி: ஜாமக்காரனே, இரவு எவ்வளவு சென்றது? என்று கூப்பிட்டுக்கேட்க;

The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

அதற்கு ஜாமக்காரன்: விடியற்காலம் வருகிறது, இராக்காலமும் வருகிறது; நீங்கள் கேட்க மனதானால் திரும்பிவந்து கேளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறான்.

The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.

அரபியாவின் பாரம். திதானியராகிய பயணக்கூட்டங்களே, நீங்கள் அரபியாவின் காடுகளில் இராத்தங்குவீர்கள்.

The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.

தேமாதேசத்தின் குடிகளே, நீங்கள் தாகமாயிருக்கிறவர்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் கொண்டுபோய், தப்பி ஓடுகிறவர்களுக்கு அப்பங்கொடுக்க எதிர்கொண்டுபோங்கள்.

The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.

அவர்கள், பட்டயங்களுக்கும், உருவின கட்கத்துக்கும், நாணேற்றின வில்லுக்கும், யுத்தத்தின் கொடுமைக்கும் தப்பி ஓடுகிறார்கள்.

For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.

ஆண்டவர் என்னை நோக்கி: ஒரு கூலிக்காரனுடைய வருஷங்களுக்கொத்த ஒரே வருஷத்திலே கேதாருடைய மகிமையெல்லாம் அற்றுப்போகும்.

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:

கேதார் புத்திரராகிய பராக்கிரம வில்வீரரின் தொகையில் மீதியானவர்கள் கொஞ்சப் பேராயிருப்பார்கள் என்றார்; இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் இதை உரைத்தார்.

And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 22

தரிசனப் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் பாரம். உன்னில் உள்ளவர்கள் எல்லாரும் வீடுகளின்மேல் ஏறுவதற்கு உனக்கு இப்பொழுது வந்தது என்ன?

The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

சந்தடிகளால் நிறைந்து ஆரவாரம்பண்ணி, களிகூர்ந்திருந்த நகரமே, உன்னிடத்தில் கொலையுண்டவர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் கொலையுண்டதில்லை, யுத்தத்தில் செத்ததும் இல்லை.

Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.

உன் அதிபதிகள் எல்லாரும் ஏகமாய் ஓடி அலைந்தும், வில்வீரரால் கட்டப்படுகிறார்கள்; உன்னில் அகப்பட்ட யாவரும் தூரத்துக்கு ஓடியும் ஏகமாய்க் கட்டப்படுகிறார்கள்.

All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.

ஆகையால், என்னை நோக்கிப் பாராதேயுங்கள்; என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தி பாழாய்ப்போனதினிமித்தம் மனங்கசந்து அழுவேன்; எனக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்ல வராதேயுங்கள் என்கிறேன்.

Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவராலே இது தரிசனப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே அமளியும், மிதியுண்குதலும், கலக்கமுமுள்ள நாளாயிருக்கிறது; இது அலங்கத்தைத் தகர்த்து, பர்வதத்துக்கு நேரே ஆர்ப்பரிக்கும் நாளாயிருக்கிறது.

For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.

ஏலாமியன் அம்பறாத்தூணியை எடுத்து, இரதங்களோடும் காலாட்களோடும் குதிரைவீரரோடும் வருகிறான்; கீர் கேடகத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தும்.

And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.

மகா வடிவான உன் பள்ளத்தாக்குகள் இரதங்களால் நிரப்பப்படும்; குதிரைவீரர் வாசல்கள் மட்டும் வந்து அணிவகுத்து நிற்பார்கள்.

And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

அவன் யூதாவின் மறைவை நீக்கிப்போடுவான்; அந்நாளிலே வனமாளிகையாகிய ஆயுதசாலையை நோக்குவாய்.

And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.

நீங்கள் தாவீது நகரத்தின் இடிதல்கள் அநேகமாயிருப்பதைக் கண்டு, கீழ்க்குளத்துத் தண்ணீர்களைக் கட்டிவைத்து,

Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

எருசலேமின் வீடுகளை எண்ணி, அலங்கத்தை அரணிப்பாக்கும்படி வீடுகளை இடித்து,

And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall.

இரண்டு மதில்களுக்கு நடுவே பழைய குளத்துத் தண்ணீர்களுக்கு ஒரு அகழை உண்டுபண்ணுவீர்கள்; ஆனாலும் அதைச் செய்தவரை நீங்கள் நோக்காமலும், அதை ஏற்படுத்தித் தூரத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணினவரைக் கவனியாமலும் போகிறீர்கள்.

Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் அக்காலத்திலே அழவும், புலம்பவும், மொட்டையிடவும், இரட்டுடுத்தவும் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:

நீங்களோ, சந்தோஷித்துக்களித்து, ஆடுமாடுகளை அடித்து, இறைச்சியைச் சாப்பிட்டு, திராட்சரசத்தைக் குடித்து: புசிப்போம் குடிப்போம், நாளைக்குச் சாவோம் என்று சொல்வீர்கள்.

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.

மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள் சாகுமட்டும் இந்த அக்கிரமம் உங்களுக்கு நிவிர்த்தியாவதில்லை என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறாரென்பது என் செவி கேட்கும்படி சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரால் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் உரைத்ததாவது: நீ அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனும் பொக்கிஷக்காரனுமாகிய செப்னா என்பவனிடத்தில் போய்ச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்,

Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,

உயர்ந்த ஸ்தலத்திலே தன் கல்லறையை வெட்டி, கன்மலையிலே தனக்கு வாசஸ்தலத்தைத் தோண்டுகிறவனைப்போல, நீ உனக்கு இங்கே கல்லறையை வெட்டும்படிக்கு உனக்கு இங்கே என்ன இருக்கிறது? உனக்கு இங்கே யார் இருக்கிறார்கள்?

What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?

இதோ, பெலவான் ஒருவனைத் துரத்துகிறவண்ணமாகக் கர்த்தர் உன்னைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, நிச்சயமாய் உன்னை மூடிப்போடுவார்.

Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.

அவர் உன்னை உண்டையைப்போல அகலமும் விசாலமுமான தேசத்திலே சுழற்றி எறிந்துவிடுவார்; அங்கே நீ சாவாய்; அங்கே உன் மகிமையின் இரதங்கள் உன் ஆண்டவனுடைய வீட்டுக்கு இகழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கும்.

He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.

உன்னை உன் நிலையைவிட்டுத் துரத்திவிடுவேன்; உன் ஸ்தானத்திலிருந்து நீ பிடுங்கிப்போடப்படுவாய்.

And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.

அந்நாளிலே இல்க்கியாவின் குமாரனாகிய எலியாக்கீம் என்னும் என் ஊழியக்காரனை நான் அழைத்து:

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:

உன் வஸ்திரத்தை அவனுக்குத் தரித்து, உன் கச்சையால் அவனை இடைக்கட்டி, உன் அதிகாரத்தை அவன் கையிலே கொடுப்பேன்; அவன் எருசலேமின் குடிகளுக்கும், யூதாவின் வம்சத்துக்கும் தகப்பனாயிருப்பான்.

And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

தாவீதுடைய வீட்டின் திறவுகோலை அவன் தோளின்மேல் வைப்பேன்; ஒருவரும் பூட்டக்கூடாதபடிக்கு அவன் திறப்பான், ஒருவரும் திறக்கக்கூடாதபடிக்கு அவன் பூட்டுவான்.

And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

அவனை உறுதியான இடத்திலே ஆணியாகக் கடாவுவேன்; அவன் தன் தகப்பன் வீட்டுக்கு மகிமையான சிங்காசனமாக இருப்பான்.

And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.

அதின்மேல் அவன் தகப்பன் வம்சத்தாராகிய புத்திரர் பெளத்திரருடைய மகிமை அனைத்தையும், சிறிதும் பெரிதுமான சகல பானபாத்திரங்களையும் தூக்கி வைப்பார்கள்.

And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

உறுதியான இடத்தில் கடாவப்பட்டிருந்த ஆணி அந்நாளிலே பிடுங்கப்பட்டு, முறிந்துவிழும்; அப்பொழுது அதின்மேல் தொங்கின பாரம் அறுந்து விழும் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார்; கர்த்தரே இதை உரைக்கிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.

ஏசாயா அத்தியாயம் 23

தீருவின் பாரம். தர்ஷீஸ் கப்பல்களே, அலறுங்கள்; அது வீடு இல்லாதபடிக்கும், அதில் வருவார் இல்லாதபடிக்கும் பாழாக்கப்பட்டது; இந்தச் செய்தி கித்தீம் தேசத்திலிருந்து அவர்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.

The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

தீவுக்குடிகளே, மவுனமாயிருங்கள்; சீதோனின் வர்த்தகர் சமுத்திரத்திலே யாத்திரைபண்ணி உன்னை நிரப்பினார்கள்.

Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

சீகோர் நதியின் மிகுந்த நீர்ப்பாய்ச்சல்களால் விளையும் பயிர்வகைகளும், ஆற்றங்கரையின் அறுப்பும் அதின் வருமானமாயிருந்தது; அது ஜாதிகளின் சந்தையாயிருந்தது.

And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

சீதோனே, வெட்கப்படு; நான் இனிக் கர்ப்பவேதனைப்படுகிறதும் இல்லை; பெறுகிறதும் இல்லை; இளைஞரை வளர்க்கிறதும் இல்லை; கன்னிகைகளை ஆதரிக்கிறதும் இல்லை என்று சமுத்திரக் கோட்டையான கடல்துறை சொல்லுகிறது.

Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

எகிப்தின் செய்தி கேட்கப்பட்டதினால் நோய் உண்டானதுபோல, தீருவின் செய்தி கேட்கப்படுவதினாலும் நோய் உண்டாகும்.

As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.

கரைதுறைக் குடிகளே, நீங்கள் தர்ஷீஸ்மட்டும் புறப்பட்டுப்போய் அலறுங்கள்.

Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

பூர்வநாட்கள்முதல் நிலைபெற்று களிகூர்ந்திருந்த உங்கள் பட்டணம் இதுதானா? பரதேசம் போய்ச் சஞ்சரிக்கிறதற்கு அவள் கால்களே அவளைத் தூரமாய்க் கொண்டுபோகும்.

Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.

கிரீடம் தரிப்பிக்கும் தீருவுக்கு விரோதமாக இதை யோசித்துத் தீர்மானித்தவர் யார்? அதின் வர்த்தகர் பிரபுக்களும், அதின் வியாபாரிகள் பூமியின் கனவான்களுமாமே.

Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?

சர்வ சிங்காரத்தின் மேன்மையைக் குலைக்கவும், பூமியின் கனவான்கள் யாவரையும் கனவீனப்படுத்தவும், சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரே இதை யோசித்துத் தீர்மானித்தார்.

The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.

தர்ஷீஸின் குமாரத்தியே, நதியைப்போல நீ உன் தேசத்தில் பாய்ந்துபோ, உனக்கு அணையில்லை.

Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.

கர்த்தர் தமது கையைச் சமுத்திரத்தின்மேல் நீட்டி, ராஜ்யங்களைக் குலுங்கப்பண்ணினார்; கானானின் அரண்களை அழிக்க அவர் அதற்கு விரோதமாய்க் கட்டளைகொடுத்து:

He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.

ஒடுங்குண்ட கன்னியாகிய சீதோன் குமாரத்தியே, இனிக் களிகூர்ந்துகொண்டிராய்; எழுந்து கித்தீமுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போ, அங்கும் உனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் இல்லையென்றார்.

And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.

கல்தேயருடைய தேசத்தைப் பார்; அந்த ஜனம் முன்னிருந்ததில்லை; அசீரியன் வனாந்தரத்தாருக்காக அதை அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்தினான்; அவர்கள் அதின் கோபுரங்களை உண்டாக்கி, அதின் அரமனைகளைக் கட்டினார்கள்; அவர் அதை அழிவுக்கென்று நியமித்தார்.

Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.

தர்ஷீஸ் கப்பல்களே, அலறுங்கள்; உங்கள் அரண் பாழாக்கப்பட்டது.

Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.

அக்காலத்திலே தீரு, ஒரு ராஜாவுடைய நாட்களின்படி, எழுபது வருஷம் மறக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்; எழுபது வருஷங்களின் முடிவிலே தீருவுக்குச் சம்பவிப்பது வேசியின் பாடலுக்குச் சமானமாயிருக்கும்.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.

மறக்கப்பட்ட வேசியே, நீ வீணையை எடுத்து நகரத்தைச் சுற்றித்திரி; நீ நினைக்கப்படும்படி அதை இனிதாக வாசித்துப் பல பாட்டுகளைப் பாடு.

Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

எழுபது வருஷங்களின் முடிவிலே கர்த்தர் வந்து தீருவைச் சந்திப்பார்; அப்பொழுது அது தன் பணையத்துக்கு திரும்பிவந்து, பூமியிலுள்ள சகல ராஜ்யங்களோடும் வேசித்தனம்பண்ணும்.

And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

அதின் வியாபாரமும், அதின் பணையமும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்படும்; அது பொக்கிஷமாய்ச் சேர்க்கப்படுவதும் இல்லை; பூட்டி வைக்கப்படுவதும் இல்லை; கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் திருப்தியாகச் சாப்பிடவும் நல்ல வஸ்திரங்களைத் தரிக்கவும் அதின் வியாபாரம் அவர்களைச் சேரும்.

And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

அப்போஸ்தலர் அத்தியாயம் 5

அனனியா என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒருவனும், அவனுடைய மனைவியாகிய சப்பீராளும் தங்கள் காணியாட்சியை விற்றார்கள்.

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

தன் மனைவி அறிய அவன் கிரயத்திலே ஒரு பங்கை வஞ்சித்துவைத்து, ஒரு பங்கைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அப்போஸ்தலருடைய பாதத்திலே வைத்தான்.

And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

பேதுரு அவனை நோக்கி: அனனியாவே, நிலத்தின் கிரயத்தில் ஒரு பங்கை வஞ்சித்துவைத்து, பரிசுத்த ஆவியினிடத்தில் பொய்சொல்லும்படி, சாத்தான் உன் இருதயத்தை நிரப்பினதென்ன?

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

அதை விற்குமுன்னே அது உன்னுடையதாயிருக்கவில்லையோ? அதை விற்றபின்பும் அதின் கிரயம் உன் வசத்திலிருக்கவில்லையோ? நீ உன் இருதயத்திலே இப்படிப்பட்ட எண்ணங்கொண்டதென்ன? நீ மனுஷரிடத்தில் அல்ல, தேவனிடத்தில் பொய்சொன்னாய் என்றான்.

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

அனனியா இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக்கேட்கவே, விழுந்து ஜீவனை விட்டான். இவைகளைக் கேள்விப்பட்ட யாவருக்கும் மிகுந்த பயமுண்டாயிற்று.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

வாலிபர் எழுந்து, அவனைச் சேலையில் சுற்றி, வெளியே எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அடக்கம் பண்ணினார்கள்.

And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

ஏறக்குறைய மூன்று மணி நேரத்துக்குப்பின்பு, அவனுடைய மனைவி நடந்ததை அறியாமல், உள்ளே வந்தாள்.

And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

பேதுரு அவளை நோக்கி: நிலத்தை இவ்வளவுக்குத்தானா விற்றீர்கள், எனக்குச் சொல் என்றான். அவள்: ஆம், இவ்வளவுக்குத்தான் என்றாள்.

And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

பேதுரு அவளை நோக்கி: கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியைச் சோதிக்கிறதற்கு நீங்கள் ஒருமனப்பட்டதென்ன? இதோ, உன் புருஷனை அடக்கம்பண்ணினவர்களுடைய கால்கள் வாசற்படியிலே வந்திருக்கிறது, உன்னையும் வெளியே கொண்டுபோவார்கள் என்றான்.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

உடனே அவள் அவனுடைய பாதத்தில் விழுந்து ஜீவனை விட்டாள். வாலிபர் உள்ளே வந்து, அவள் மரித்துப்போனதைக் கண்டு அவளை வெளியே எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவளுடைய புருஷனண்டையிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

சபையாரெல்லாருக்கும், இவைகளைக் கேள்விப்பட்ட மற்ற யாவருக்கும், மிகுந்த பயமுண்டாயிற்று.

And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

அப்போஸ்தலருடைய கைகளினாலே அநேக அடையாளங்களும் அற்புதங்களும் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே செய்யப்பட்டது. எல்லாரும் ஒருமனப்பட்டுச் சாலொமோனுடைய மண்டபத்தில் இருந்தார்கள்.

And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.

மற்றவர்களில் ஒருவரும் அவர்களுடனே சேரத் துணியவில்லை. ஆகிலும் ஜனங்கள் அவர்களை மேன்மைப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

திரளான புருஷர்களும், ஸ்திரீகளும் விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களாகிக் கர்த்தரிடமாக அதிகமதிகமாய்ச் சேர்க்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

பிணியாளிகளைப் படுக்கைகளின்மேலும் கட்டில்களின்மேலும் கிடத்தி, பேதுரு நடந்துபோகையில் அவனுடைய நிழலாகிலும் அவர்களில் சிலர்மேல் படும்படிக்கு, அவர்களை வெளியே வீதிகளில் கொண்டுவந்து வைத்தார்கள்.

Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

சுற்றுப்பட்டணங்களிலுமிருந்து திரளான ஜனங்கள் பிணியாளிகளையும் அசுத்த ஆவிகளால் வாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களையும் எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவர்களெல்லாரும் குணமாக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியனும் அவனுடனேகூட இருந்த சதுசேய சமயத்தாரனைவரும் எழும்பி, பொறாமையினால் நிறைந்து,

Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

அப்போஸ்தலர்களைப் பிடித்து, பொதுவான சிறைச்சாலையிலே வைத்தார்கள்.

And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் இராத்திரியிலே சிறைச்சாலையின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து, அவர்களை வெளியே கொண்டுவந்து:

But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

நீங்கள் போய், தேவாலயத்திலே நின்று, இந்த ஜீவவார்த்தைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

அவர்கள் அதைக்கேட்டு, அதிகாலமே தேவாலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்துப் போதகம்பண்ணினார்கள். பிரதான ஆசாரியனும் அவனுடனேகூட இருந்தவர்களும் வந்து, ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தாரையும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் மூப்பரெல்லாரையும் வரவழைத்து, அப்போஸ்தலர்களைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி சிறைச்சாலைக்குச் சேவகரை அனுப்பினார்கள்.

And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

சேவகர் போய், சிறைச்சாலையிலே அவர்களைக் காணாமல், திரும்பிவந்து:

But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,

சிறைச்சாலை மிகுந்த பத்திரமாய்ப் பூட்டப்பட்டிருக்கவும், காவற்காரர் வெளியே கதவுகளுக்குமுன் நிற்கவும் கண்டோம்; திறந்தபொழுதோ உள்ளே ஒருவரையும் காணோம் என்று அறிவித்தார்கள்.

Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

இந்தச் செய்தியை ஆசாரியனும் தேவாலயத்தைக் காக்கிற சேனைத்தலைவனும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் கேட்டபொழுது, இதென்னமாய் முடியுமோ என்று, அவர்களைக்குறித்துக் கலக்கமடைந்தார்கள்.

Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

அப்பொழுது ஒருவன் வந்து: இதோ, நீங்கள் காவலில் வைத்த மனுஷர் தேவாலயத்திலே நின்று ஜனங்களுக்குப் போதகம்பண்ணுகிறார்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்.

Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

உடனே சேனைத்தலைவன் சேவகரோடேகூடப்போய், ஜனங்கள் கல்லெறிவார்களென்று பயந்ததினால், பலவந்தம்பண்ணாமல் அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.

Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

அப்படி அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்துக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தினார்கள். அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியன் அவர்களை நோக்கி:

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

நீங்கள் அந்த நாமத்தைக்குறித்துப் போதகம்பண்ணக்கூடாதென்று நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு உறுதியாய்க் கட்டளையிடவில்லையா? அப்படியிருந்தும், இதோ, எருசலேமை உங்கள் போதகத்தினாலே நிரப்பி, அந்த மனுஷனுடைய இரத்தப்பழியை எங்கள்மேல் சுமத்தவேண்டுமென்றிருக்கிறீர்கள் என்று சொன்னான்.

Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

அதற்குப் பேதுருவும் மற்ற அப்போஸ்தலரும்: மனுஷருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே அவசியமாயிருக்கிறது.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

நீங்கள் மரத்திலே தூக்கிக் கொலைசெய்த இயேசுவை நம்முடைய பிதாக்களின் தேவன் எழுப்பி,

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு மனந்திரும்புதலையும் பாவமன்னிப்பையும் அருளுகிறதற்காக, அவரை அதிபதியாகவும் இரட்சகராகவும் தமது வலதுகரத்தினாலே உயர்த்தினார்.

Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

இந்தச் சங்கதிகளைக்குறித்து நாங்கள் அவருக்குச் சாட்சிகளாயிருக்கிறோம்; தேவன் தமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறவர்களுக்குத் தந்தருளின பரிசுத்த ஆவியும் சாட்சி என்றார்கள்.

And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

அதை அவர்கள் கேட்டபொழுது, மூர்க்கமடைந்து, அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படிக்கு யோசனை பண்ணினார்கள்.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

அப்பொழுது சகல ஜனங்களாலும் கனம்பெற்ற நியாயசாஸ்திரியாகிய கமாலியேல் என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு பரிசேயன் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் எழுந்திருந்து, அப்போஸ்தலரைச் சற்றுநேரம் வெளியே கொண்டுபோகச் சொல்லி,

Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;

சங்கத்தாரை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலரே, இந்த மனுஷருக்கு நீங்கள் செய்யப்போகிறதைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.

ஏனென்றால் இந்நாட்களுக்கு முன்னே தெயுதாஸ் என்பவன் எழும்பி, தன்னை ஒரு பெரியவனாகப் பாராட்டினான்; ஏறக்குறைய நானூறுபேர் அவனைச் சேர்ந்தார்கள்; அவன் மடிந்துபோனான்; அவனை நம்பின அனைவரும் சிதறி, அவமாய்ப்போனார்கள்.

For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

அவனுக்குப்பின்பு, குடிமதிப்பின் நாட்களிலே, கலிலேயனாகிய யூதாஸ் என்பவன் எழும்பி, தன்னைப் பின்பற்றும்படி அநேக ஜனங்களை இழுத்தான்; அவனும் அழிந்துபோனான்; அவனை நம்பியிருந்த அனைவரும் சிதறடிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

இப்பொழுது நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவென்றால் இந்த மனுஷருக்கு ஒன்றுஞ்செய்யாமல் இவர்களை விட்டுவிடுங்கள். இந்த யோசனையும் இந்தக் கிரியையும் மனுஷரால் உண்டாயிருந்ததானால் ஒழிந்துபோம்;

And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

தேவனால் உண்டாயிருந்ததேயானால், அதை ஒழித்துவிட உங்களால் கூடாது; தேவனோடே போர்செய்கிறவர்களாய்க் காணப்படாதபடிக்குப் பாருங்கள் என்றான்.

But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவனுடைய யோசனைக்கு உடன்பட்டு, அப்போஸ்தலரை வரவழைத்து, அடித்து, இயேசுவின் நாமத்தைக்குறித்துப் பேசக்கூடாதென்று கட்டளையிட்டு, அவர்களை விடுதலையாக்கினார்கள்.

And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

அவருடைய நாமத்துக்காகத் தாங்கள் அவமானமடைவதற்குப் பாத்திரராக எண்ணப்பட்டபடியினால், சந்தோஷமாய் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய்,

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

தினந்தோறும் தேவாலயத்திலேயும் வீடுகளிலேயும் இடைவிடாமல் உபதேசம்பண்ணி, இயேசுவே கிறிஸ்துவென்று பிரசங்கித்தார்கள்.

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
