யோபு அத்தியாயம் 17

என் சுவாசம் ஒழிகிறது, என் நாட்கள் முடிகிறது; பிரேதக்குழி எனக்கு ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

பரியாசம்பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் என்னிடத்தில் இல்லையோ? அவர்கள் செய்யும் அநியாயங்களை என் கண் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?

தேவரீர் என் காரியத்தை மேல்போட்டுக்கொண்டு, எனக்காகப் பிணைப்படுவீராக; வேறே யார் எனக்குக் கைகொடுக்கத்தக்கவர்?

Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?

நீர் அவர்கள் இருதயத்துக்கு ஞானத்தை மறைத்தீர்; ஆகையால் அவர்களை உயர்த்தாதிருப்பீர்.

For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.

எவன் தன் சிநேகிதருக்குக் கேடாகத் துரோகம் பேசுகிறானோ, அவன் பிள்ளைகளின் கண்களும் பூத்துப்போகும்.

He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அவர் என்னைப் பழமொழியாக வைத்தார்; அவர்கள் முகத்துக்குமுன் நான் அருவருப்பானேன்.

He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.

இதினிமித்தம் என் கண்கள் சஞ்சலத்தினால் இருளடைந்தது; என் அவயவங்களெல்லாம் நிழலைப்போலிருக்கிறது.

Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

சன்மார்க்கர் இதற்காகப் பிரமிப்பார்கள்; குற்றமில்லாதவன் மாயக்காரனுக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்புவான்.

Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

நீதிமான் தன்வழியை உறுதியாய்ப் பிடிப்பான்; சுத்தமான கைகளுள்ளவன் மேன்மேலும் பலத்துப்போவான்.

The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

இப்போதும் நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் போய்வாருங்கள்; உங்களில் ஞானமுள்ள ஒருவனையும் காணேன்.

But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.

என் நாட்கள் போயிற்று; என் இருதயத்தில் எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த சிந்தனைகள் அற்றுப்போயிற்று.

My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

அவைகள் இரவைப் பகலாக்கிற்று; இருளை வெளிச்சம் தொடர்ந்துவரும் என்று எண்ணச்செய்தது.

They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

அப்படி நான் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தாலும், பாதாளம் எனக்கு வீடாயிருக்கும்; இருளில் என் படுக்கையைப் போடுவேன்.

If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

அழிவைப்பார்த்து, நீ எனக்குத் தகப்பன் என்கிறேன்; புழுக்களைப் பார்த்து, நீங்கள் எனக்குத் தாயும் எனக்குச் சகோதரியும் என்கிறேன்.

I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.

என் நம்பிக்கை இப்போது எங்கே? நான் நம்பியிருந்ததைக் காண்பவன் யார்?

And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

அது பாதாளத்தின் காவலுக்குள் இறங்கும்; அப்போது தூளில் ஏகமாய் இளைப்பாறுவோம் என்றான்.

They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 18

அப்பொழுது சூகியனான பில்தாத் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

நீங்கள் எந்தமட்டும் பேச்சுகளை முடிக்காதிருப்பீர்கள்? புத்திமான்களாயிருங்கள்; நாங்களும் பேசட்டும்.

How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.

நாங்கள் மிருகங்களைப்போல எண்ணப்பட்டு, உங்கள் பார்வைக்குத் தீழ்ப்பானவர்களாயிருப்பானேன்?

Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?

கோபத்தினால் உம்மைத்தானே பீறுகிற உமதுநிமித்தம் பூமி பாழாய்ப்போகுமோ? கன்மலை தன்னிடத்தைவிட்டுப் பேருமோ?

He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?

துன்மார்க்கனுடைய விளக்கு அணைந்துபோகும்; அவன் அடுப்பின் நெருப்பும் அவிந்துபோகும்.

Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.

அவன் கூடாரத்தில் வெளிச்சம் அந்தகாரப்படும்; அவன் விளக்கு அவனுடனே அணைந்துபோகும்.

The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.

அவன் பெலனாய் நடந்த நடைகள் குறைந்துபோகும் அவன் ஆலோசனை அவனை விழப்பண்ணும்.

The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.

அவன் தன் கால்களினால் வலையில் அகப்பட்டு, வலைச்சிக்கலிலே நடக்கிறான்.

For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.

கண்ணி அவன் குதிகாலைப் பிடிக்கும்; பறிகாரர் அவனை மேற்கொள்வார்கள்.

The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.

அவனுக்காகச் சுருக்கு தரையிலும், அவனுக்காகக் கண்ணி வழியிலும் வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.

சுற்றிலுமிருந்துண்டாகும் பயங்கரங்கள் அவனைத் திடுக்கிடப்பண்ணி, அவன் கால்களைத் திசைதெரியாமல் அலையப்பண்ணும்.

Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.

அவன் பெலனைப் பட்டினி தின்றுபோடும்; அவன் பக்கத்தில் கேடு ஆயத்தப்பட்டு நிற்கும்.

His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.

அது அவன் அங்கத்தின் பலத்தைப் பட்சிக்கும்; பயங்கரமான மரணமே அவன் அவயவங்களைப் பட்சிக்கும்.

It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.

அவன் நம்பிக்கை அவன் கூடாரத்திலிருந்து வேரோடே பிடுங்கப்படும்; அது அவனைப் பயங்கர ராஜாவினிடத்தில் துரத்தும்.

His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.

அவனுக்கு ஒன்றுமில்லாமற் போனதினால், பயங்கரம் அவன் கூடாரத்தில் குடியிருக்கும்; கந்தகம் அவன் வாசஸ்தலத்தின்மேல் தெளிக்கப்படும்.

It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.

கீழே இருக்கிற அவன் வேர்கள் அழிந்துபோகும்; மேலே இருக்கிற அவன் கிளைகள் பட்டுப்போகும்.

His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.

அவனை நினைக்கும் நினைப்புப் பூமியிலிருந்தழியும், வீதிகளில் அவன் பேரில்லாமற்போகும்.

His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.

அவன் வெளிச்சத்திலிருந்து இருளில் துரத்திவிடப்பட்டு, பூலோகத்திலிருந்து தள்ளுண்டுபோவான்.

He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

அவன் ஜனத்துக்குள்ளே அவனுக்குப் புத்திரனும் இல்லை பெளத்திரனும் இல்லை; அவன் வீட்டில் மீதியாயிருக்கத்தக்கவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை.

He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.

அவன் காலத்தோர் அவன் நாளுக்காகத் திடுக்கிட்டதுபோல, பின்னடியாரும் பிரமிப்பார்கள்.

They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.

அக்கிரமக்காரன் குடியிருந்த ஸ்தானங்கள் இவைகள்தான்; தேவனை அறியாமற்போனவனுடைய ஸ்தலம் இதுவே என்பார்கள் என்றான்.

Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 19

யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

Then Job answered and said,

நீங்கள் எந்தமட்டும் என் ஆத்துமாவை வருத்தப்படுத்தி, வார்த்தைகளினால் என்னை நொறுக்குவீர்கள்?

How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

இப்போது பத்துதரம் என்னை நிந்தித்தீர்கள்; நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கடினமுகம் காண்பிக்கிறதினால் உங்களுக்கு வெட்கமில்லை.

These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.

நான் தப்பிநடந்தது மெய்யானாலும், என் தப்பிதம் என்னோடேதான் இருக்கிறது.

And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.

நீங்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாகப் பெருமைபாராட்டி, எனக்கு நிந்தையாக என்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றிருப்பீர்களாகில்,

If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:

தேவன் என்னைக் கவிழ்த்து, தம்முடைய வலையை என்மேல் வீசினார் என்று அறியுங்கள்.

Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.

இதோ, கொடுமை என்று கூப்பிடுகிறேன், கேட்பார் ஒருவரும் இல்லை; கூக்குரலிடுகிறேன், நியாயவிசாரணை இல்லை.

Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

நான் கடந்துபோகக்கூடாதபடிக்கு அவர் என் பாதையை வேலியடைத்து, என் வழிகளை இருளாக்கிவிட்டார்.

He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

என்னிலிருந்த என் மகிமையை அவர் உரிந்துகொண்டு, என் சிரசின் கிரீடத்தை எடுத்துப்போட்டார்.

He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

அவர் என்னை நான்கு புறத்திலும் நாசமாக்கினார், நான் அற்றுப்போகிறேன்; என் நம்பிக்கையை ஒரு செடியைப்போலப் பிடுங்கிப்போட்டார்.

He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

அவர் தமது கோபத்தை என்மேல் எரியப்பண்ணினார்; என்னைத் தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களில் ஒருவனாக எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்.

He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.

அவருடைய தண்டுப்படைகள் ஏகமாய் வந்து, எனக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தங்கள் வழியை உயர்த்தி, என் கூடாரத்தைச் சுற்றிப் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

என் சகோதரரை என்னைவிட்டுத் தூரப்படுத்தினார்; எனக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்கள் எனக்கு அந்நியராய்ப் போனார்கள்.

He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.

என் பந்துஜனங்கள் விலகிப்போனார்கள். என் சிநேகிதர் என்னை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்.

My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

என் வீட்டு ஜனங்களும், என் வேலைக்காரிகளும், என்னை அந்நியனாக எண்ணுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் பார்வைக்கு நான் பரதேசியானேன்.

They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.

நான் என் வேலைக்காரனைக் கூப்பிடுகிறபோது அவன் எனக்கு உத்தரவு கொடான்; என் வாயினால் நான் அவனைக் கெஞ்சவேண்டியதாயிற்று.

I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

என் சுவாசம் என் மனைவிக்கு வேறுபட்டிருக்கிறது; என் கர்ப்பத்தின் பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பரிதபிக்கிறேன்.

My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.

சிறுபிள்ளைகளும் என்னை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறார்கள்; நான் எழுந்தால், அவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பேசுகிறார்கள்.

Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

என் பிராணசிநேகிதர் எல்லாரும் என்னை வெறுக்கிறார்கள்; நான் சிநேகித்தவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதிகளானார்கள்.

All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.

என் எலும்புகள் என் தோலோடும் என் மாம்சத்தோடும் ஒட்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது என் பற்களை மூடக் கொஞ்சம் தோல்மாத்திரம் தப்பினது.

My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

என் சிநேகிதரே, எனக்கு இரங்குங்கள், எனக்கு இரங்குங்கள்; தேவனுடைய கை என்னைத் தொட்டது.

Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.

தேவனைப்போல நீங்களும் என்னைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவானேன்? என் மாம்சம் பட்சிக்கப்பட்டாலும் நீங்கள் திருப்தியற்றிருக்கிறதென்ன?

Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

ஆ, நான் இப்பொழுது சொல்லும் வார்த்தைகள் எழுதப்பட்டால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; அவைகள் ஒரு புஸ்தகத்தில் வரையப்பட்டு,

Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!

அல்லது என்றைக்கும் நிலைக்க அவைகள் கருங்கல்லிலே உளிவெட்டாகவும் ஈய எழுத்தாகவும் பதிந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!

என் மீட்பர் உயிரோடிருக்கிறார் என்றும், அவர் கடைசி நாளில் பூமியின்மேல் நிற்பார் என்றும் நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்.

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

இந்த என் தோல்முதலானவை அழுகிப்போனபின்பு, நான் என் மாம்சத்தில் இருந்து தேவனைப் பார்ப்பேன்.

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

அவரை நானே பார்ப்பேன்; அந்நிய கண்கள் அல்ல, என் கண்களே அவரைக் காணும்; இந்த வாஞ்சையால் என் உள்ளிந்திரியங்கள் எனக்குள் சோர்ந்துபோகிறது.

Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

காரியத்தின் மூலம் எனக்குள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்படுகையில், நாம் ஏன் அவனைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறோம் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லவேண்டியதாமே.

But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

பட்டயத்துக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு உண்டென்கிறதை நீங்கள் அறியும்பொருட்டு, மூர்க்கமானது பட்டயத்தினால் உண்டாகும் ஆக்கினையை வரப்பண்ணும் என்றான்.

Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.

யோபு அத்தியாயம் 20

அப்பொழுது நாகமாத்தியனான சோப்பார் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

இதற்காக மறு உத்தரவு கொடுக்க என் சிந்தனைகள் என்னை ஏவுகிறபடியால் நான் தீவிரித்துச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.

நிந்தித்தேன் என்று நான் கடிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டதைக் கேட்டேன்; ஆனாலும் உணர்வினால் என் ஆவி பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்ல என்னை ஏவுகிறது.

I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.

துன்மார்க்கனின் கெம்பீரம் குறுகினது என்பதையும், மாயக்காரனின் சந்தோஷம் ஒரு நிமிஷம்மாத்திரம் நிற்கும் என்பதையும்,

Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,

அவர் மனுஷனைப் பூமியில் வைத்த ஆதிகாலமுதல் இப்படியிருக்கிறது என்பதையும் நீர் அறியீரோ?

That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

அவனுடைய மேன்மை வானபரியந்தம் உயர்ந்தாலும், அவனுடைய தலை மேகங்கள்மட்டும் எட்டினாலும்,

Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;

அவன் தன் மலத்தைப்போல என்றைக்கும் அழிந்துபோவான்; அவனைக் கண்டவர்கள், அவன் எங்கே? என்பார்கள்.

Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?

அவன் ஒரு சொப்பனத்தைப்போல் பறந்துபோய்க் காணப்படாதவனாவான்; இரவில் தோன்றும் தரிசனத்தைப்போல் பறக்கடிக்கப்படுவான்.

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

அவனைப் பார்த்த கண் இனி அவனைப் பார்ப்பதில்லை; அவன் இருந்த ஸ்தலம் இனி அவனைக் காண்பதில்லை.

The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.

அவன் பிள்ளைகள் எளிமையானவர்களின் சகாயத்தைத் தேடுவார்கள்; அவன் பறித்ததை அவன் கைகள் திரும்பக் கொடுக்கவேண்டியதாகும்.

His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.

அவன் எலும்புகள் அவனுடைய வாலவயதின் பாவங்களினால் நிறைந்திருந்து, அவனோடேகூட மண்ணிலே படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்.

His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.

பொல்லாப்பு அவன் வாயிலே இனிமையாயிருப்பதால், அவன் அதைத் தன் நாவின்கீழ் அடக்கி,

Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;

அதை விடாமல் பதனம்பண்ணி, தன் வாய்க்குள்ளே வைத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தாலும்,

Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:

அவன் போஜனம் அவன் குடல்களில் மாறி, அவனுக்குள் விரியன்பாம்புகளின் பிச்சாய்ப்போகும்.

Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.

அவன் விழுங்கின ஆஸ்தியைக் கக்குவான்; தேவன் அதை அவன் வயிற்றிலிருந்து வெளியே தள்ளிவிடுவார்.

He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.

அவன் விரியன்பாம்புகளின் விஷத்தை உறிஞ்சுவான்; விரியனின் நாக்கு அவனைக் கொல்லும்.

He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.

தேனும் நெய்யும் ஓடும் வாய்க்கால்களையும் ஆறுகளையும் அவன் காண்பதில்லை.

He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.

தான் பிரயாசப்பட்டுத் தேடினதை அவன் விழுங்காமல் திரும்பக் கொடுப்பான்; அவன் திரும்பக் கொடுக்கிறது அவன் ஆஸ்திக்குச் சரியாயிருக்கும்; அவன் களிகூராதிருப்பான்.

That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.

அவன் ஒடுக்கி, ஏழைகளைக் கைவிட்டு, தான் கட்டாத வீட்டைப் பறித்தபடியினாலும்,

Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;

தன் வயிறு திருப்தியற்றிருந்தபடியினாலும், அவன் இச்சித்த காரியங்களில் அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் இருப்பதில்லை.

Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.

அவன் போஜனத்தில் ஒன்றும் மீதியாவதில்லை; ஆகையால் அவன் ஆஸ்தி நிலைநிற்பதில்லை.

There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.

அவன் வேண்டுமென்கிற பரிபூரணம் அவனுக்கு வந்தபின், அவனுக்கு வியாகுலம் உண்டாகும்; சிறுமைப்படுகிற ஒவ்வொருவருடைய கையும் அவன்மேல் வரும்.

In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.

தன் வயிற்றை நிரப்பத்தக்கது இன்னும் அவனுக்கு இருந்தாலும், அவர் அவன்மேல் தமது கோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தை வரவிட்டு, அவன் போஜனம்பண்ணுகையில், அதை அவன்மேல் சொரியப்பண்ணுவார்.

When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.

இருப்பு ஆயுதத்துக்கு அவன் தப்பியோடினாலும் உருக்குவில் அவனை உருவ எய்யும்.

He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.

உருவின பட்டயம் அவன் சரீரத்தையும், மின்னுகிற அம்பு அவன் பிச்சையும் உருவிப்போகும்; பயங்கரங்கள் அவன்மேல் வரும்.

It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.

அவன் ஒளிக்கும் இடங்களில் காரிருள் அடங்கியிருக்கும்; அவியாத அக்கினி அவனைப் பட்சிக்கும்; அவன் கூடாரத்தில் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவன் தீங்கு அநுபவிப்பான்.

All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.

வானங்கள் அவன் அக்கிரமத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தி, பூமி அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்பும்.

The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.

அவன் வீட்டின் சம்பத்துப் போய்விடும்; அவருடைய கோபத்தின் நாளிலே அவைகள் கரைந்து போகும்.

The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

இதுவே தேவனால் துன்மார்க்கனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் பங்கும், அவன் செய்கைக்கு தேவனால் அவனுக்கு வரும் சுதந்தரமுமாம் என்றான்.

This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.

மாற்கு அத்தியாயம் 5

பின்பு அவர்கள் கடலுக்கு அக்கரையிலுள்ள கதரேனருடைய நாட்டில் வந்தார்கள்.

And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

அவர் படவிலிருந்து இறங்கினவுடனே, அசுத்த ஆவியுள்ள ஒரு மனுஷன் பிரேதக்கல்லறைகளிலிருந்து அவருக்கு எதிராக வந்தான்.

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

அவனுடைய குடியிருப்பு கல்லறைகளிலே இருந்தது; அவனைச் சங்கிலிகளினாலும் கட்ட ஒருவனாலும் கூடாதிருந்தது.

Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

அவன் அநேகந்தரம் விலங்குகளினாலும் சங்கிலிகளினாலும் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்தும், சங்கிலிகளை முறித்து, விலங்குகளைத் தகர்த்துப்போடுவான்; அவனையடக்க ஒருவனாலும் கூடாதிருந்தது.

Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

அவன் எப்பொழுதும் இரவும் பகலும், மலைகளிலும் கல்லறைகளிலும் இருந்து, கூக்குரலிட்டு, கல்லுகளினாலே தன்னைக் காயப்படுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

அவன் இயேசுவைத் தூரத்திலே கண்டபோது, ஓடிவந்து, அவரைப்பணிந்துகொண்டு:

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

இயேசுவே, உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய குமாரனே, எனக்கும் உமக்கும் என்ன? என்னை வேதனைப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு தேவன்பேரில் உமக்கு ஆணையென்று மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னான்.

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

ஏனெனில் அவர் அவனை நோக்கி: அசுத்த ஆவியே, இந்த மனுஷனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப் போ என்று சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

அப்பொழுது அவர் அவனை நோக்கி: உன் பேர் என்னவென்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவன்: நாங்கள் அநேகராயிருக்கிறபடியால் என் பேர் லேகியோன் என்று சொல்லி,

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

தங்களை அந்தத் திசையிலிருந்து துரத்திவிடாதபடிக்கு அவரை மிகவும் வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

அப்பொழுது, அவ்விடத்தில் மலையருகே அநேகம் பன்றிகள் கூட்டமாக மேய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தது.

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

அந்தப் பிசாசுகளெல்லாம் அவரை நோக்கி: பன்றிகளுக்குள்ளே போகும்படி, அவைகளுக்குள்ளே எங்களை அனுப்பும் என்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டன.

And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

இயேசு அவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுத்தவுடனே, அசுத்த ஆவிகள் புறப்பட்டுப் பன்றிகளுக்குள் போயின; உடனே ஏறக்குறைய இரண்டாயிரம் பன்றிகளுள்ள அந்தக் கூட்டம் உயர்ந்த மேட்டிலிருந்து ஓடி, கடலிலே பாய்ந்து, கடலில் அமிழ்ந்து மாண்டன.

And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

பன்றிகளை மேய்த்தவர்கள் ஓடி, இதைப் பட்டணத்திலும் சுற்றுப்புறங்களிலும் அறிவித்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது சம்பவித்ததைப் பார்க்கும்படி ஜனங்கள் புறப்பட்டு;

And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து, லேகியோனாகிய பிசாசுகள் பிடித்திருந்தவன் வஸ்திரந்தரித்து, உட்கார்ந்து, புத்தி தெளிந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு, பயந்தார்கள்.

And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

பிசாசுகள் பிடித்திருந்தவனுக்கும் பன்றிகளுக்கும் சம்பவித்ததைக் கண்டவர்களும் அவர்களுக்கு விவரமாய்ச் சொன்னார்கள்.

And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

அப்பொழுது தங்கள் எல்லைகளை விட்டுப்போகும்படி அவரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

அப்படியே அவர் படவில் ஏறுகிறபொழுது, பிசாசு பிடித்திருந்தவன், அவரோடேகூட இருக்கும்படி தனக்கு உத்தரவுகொடுக்க அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

இயேசு அவனுக்கு உத்தரவுகொடாமல்: நீ உன் இனத்தாரிடத்தில் உன் வீட்டிற்குப்போய், கர்த்தர் உனக்கு இரங்கி, உனக்குச் செய்தவைகளையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவியென்று சொன்னார்.

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

அந்தப்படி அவன் போய், இயேசு தனக்குச் செய்தவைகளையெல்லாம் தெக்கப்போலி என்னும் நாட்டில் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணத்தொடங்கினான்; எல்லாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.

And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

இயேசு படவில் ஏறி மறுபடியும் இக்கரைக்கு வந்து, கடலோரத்திலிருந்தபோது, திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவரிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.

And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

அப்பொழுது, ஜெபஆலயத்தலைவரில் ஒருவனாகிய யவீரு என்பவன் வந்து, அவரைக் கண்டவுடனே, அவர் பாதத்திலே விழுந்து:

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

என் குமாரத்தி மரணஅவஸ்தைப்படுகிறாள், அவள் ஆரோக்கியம் அடையும்படிக்கு நீர் வந்து, அவள்மேல் உமது கைகளை வையும், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பாள் என்று அவரை மிகவும் வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

அவர் அவனோடேகூடப் போனார். திரளான ஜனங்கள் அவருக்குப் பின்சென்று, அவரை நெருக்கினார்கள்.

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

அப்பொழுது பன்னிரண்டு வருஷமாய்ப் பெரும்பாடுள்ள ஒரு ஸ்திரீ,

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

அநேக வைத்தியர்களால் மிகவும் வருத்தப்பட்டு, தனக்கு உண்டானவைகளையெல்லாம் செலவழித்தும், சற்றாகிலும் குணமடையாமல் அதிக வருத்தப்படுகிறபொழுது,

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

இயேசுவைக்குறித்துக் கேள்விப்பட்டு: நான் அவருடைய வஸ்திரங்களையாகிலும் தொட்டால் சொஸ்தமாவேன் என்று சொல்லி;

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

ஜனக்கூட்டத்துக்குள்ளே அவருக்குப் பின்னாக வந்து, அவருடைய வஸ்திரத்தைத் தொட்டாள்.

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

உடனே அவளுடைய உதிரத்தின் ஊறல் நின்றுபோயிற்று; அந்த வேதனை நீங்கி ஆரோக்கியமடைந்ததை அவள் தன் சரீரத்தில் உணர்ந்தாள்.

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

உடனே இயேசு தம்மிலிருந்து வல்லமை புறப்பட்டதைத் தமக்குள் அறிந்து, ஜனக்கூட்டத்துக்குள்ளே திரும்பி: என் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தொட்டது யார் என்று கேட்டார்.

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் அவரை நோக்கி: திரளான ஜனங்கள் உம்மை நெருக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதை நீர் கண்டும், என்னைத் தொட்டது யார் என்று கேட்கிறீரே என்றார்கள்.

And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

இதைச் செய்தவளைக் காணும்படிக்கு அவர் சுற்றிலும் பார்த்தார்.

And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

தன்னிடத்திலே சம்பவித்ததை அறிந்த அந்த ஸ்திரீயானவள் பயந்து, நடுங்கி, அவர் முன்பாக வந்து விழுந்து, உண்மையையெல்லாம் அவருக்குச் சொன்னாள்.

But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

அவர் அவளைப் பார்த்து: மகளே, உன் விசுவாசம் உன்னை இரட்சித்தது, நீ சமாதானத்தோடேபோய், உன் வேதனை நீங்கி, சுகமாயிரு என்றார்.

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஜெபஆலயத்தலைவனுடைய வீட்டிலிருந்து சிலர் வந்து: உம்முடைய குமாரத்தி மரித்துப்போனாள், இனி ஏன் போதகரை வருத்தப்படுத்துகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

அவர்கள் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை இயேசு கேட்டவுடனே, ஜெபஆலயத்தலைவனை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதே, விசுவாசமுள்ளவனாயிரு என்று சொல்லி;

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

பேதுருவையும், யாக்கோபையும், யாக்கோபின் சகோதரன் யோவானையும் தவிர, வேறொருவரும் தம்மோடே வருகிறதற்கு இடங்கொடாமல்;

And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

ஜெபஆலயத்தலைவனுடைய வீட்டிலே வந்து, சந்தடியையும் மிகவும் அழுது புலம்புகிறவர்களையும் கண்டு,

And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

உள்ளே பிரவேசித்து: நீங்கள் சந்தடிபண்ணி அழுகிறதென்ன? பிள்ளை மரிக்கவில்லை, நித்திரையாயிருக்கிறாள் என்றார்.

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

அதற்காக அவரைப்பார்த்து நகைத்தார்கள். எல்லாரையும் அவர் வெளியே போகப்பண்ணி, பிள்ளையின் தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் தம்மோடே வந்தவர்களையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, பிள்ளையிருந்த இடத்தில் பிரவேசித்து,

And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

பிள்ளையின் கையைப் பிடித்து: தலீத்தாகூமி என்றார்; அதற்கு, சிறுபெண்ணே எழுந்திரு என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று அர்த்தமாம்.

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

உடனே சிறுபெண் எழுந்து நடந்தாள்; அவள் பன்னிரண்டு வயதுள்ளவளாயிருந்தாள். அவர்கள் மிகுந்த ஆச்சரியப்பட்டுப் பிரமித்தார்கள்.

And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

அதை ஒருவருக்கும் அறிவியாதபடி அவர்களுக்கு உறுதியாகக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அவளுக்கு ஆகாரம் கொடுக்கும்படி சொன்னார்.

And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
