2நாளாகமம் அத்தியாயம் 9

சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனின் கீர்த்தியைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, விடுகதைகளினாலே சாலொமோனைச் சோதிக்கிறதற்காக, மிகுந்த பரிவாரத்தோடும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், மிகுதியான பொன்னையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் சுமக்கிற ஒட்டகங்களோடும் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தாள்; அவள் சாலொமோனிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, தன் மனதிலிருந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் குறித்து அவனிடத்தில் சம்பாஷித்தாள்.

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

அப்பொழுது சாலொமோன் அவள் கேட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் விடுவித்தான்; அவளுக்கு விடுவிக்காதபடிக்கு ஒன்றாகிலும் சாலொமோனுக்கு மறைபொருளாயிருக்கவில்லை.

And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.

சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய பானபாத்திரக்காரரையும், அவர் அரமனையையும்,

And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

ராஜாவை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய வர்த்தமானங்களையும் உம்முடைய ஞானத்தையும் குறித்து, நான் என் தேசத்திலே கேட்ட செய்தி மெய்யாயிற்று.

And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:

நான் வந்து அதை என் கண்களால் காணுமட்டும் அவர்கள் வார்த்தைகளை நம்பவில்லை; உம்முடைய பெரிய ஞானத்தில் பாதியாகிலும் அவர்கள் எனக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை; நான் கேள்விப்பட்ட பிரஸ்தாபத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகம் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது.

Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; எப்போதும் உமக்கு முன்பாக நின்று, உம்முடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கிற உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நீர் ராஜாவாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, உம்மைத் தம்முடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கப்பண்ண, உம்மேல் பிரியங்கொண்ட உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக; உம்முடைய தேவன் இஸ்ரவேலை என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைநிறுத்தும்படிக்குச் சிநேகிக்கிறதினாலே, அவர் நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்கிறதற்கு உம்மை அவர்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாக வைத்தார் என்றாள்.

Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

அவள் ராஜாவுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து பொன்னையும், மிகுதியான கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், இரத்தினங்களையும் கொடுத்தாள்; சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்குக் கொடுத்த அப்படிப்பட்ட கந்தவர்க்கங்களைப்போல ஒருக்காலும் வரவில்லை.

And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.

ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து பொன்னைக் கொண்டுவருகிற ஈராமின் வேலைக்காரரும் சாலொமோனின் வேலைக்காரரும் வாசனை மரங்களையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.

அந்த வாசனைமரங்களால் ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்கும் ராஜ அரமனைக்கும் ஊன்றுகால்களையும், சங்கீதக்காரருக்குச் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் உண்டாக்கினான்; அப்படிப்பட்டவைகள் அதற்கு முன்னே யூதேயா தேசத்தில் ஒருக்காலும் காணப்படவில்லை.

And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ ராஜாவுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகமாய் அவள் ஆசைப்பட்டுக் கேட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் அவளுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; பின்பு அவள் தன் பரிவாரத்தோடுங்கூட தன் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனாள்.

And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.

வியாபாரிகளும் வர்த்தகரும் கொண்டுவரும் பொன்னைத்தவிர, சாலொமோனுக்கு ஒவ்வொரு வருஷத்திலும் வந்த பொன் அறுநூற்று அறுபத்தாறு தாலந்து நிறையாயிருந்தது.

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

அரபிதேசத்துச் சகல ராஜாக்களும் மாகாணங்களின் அதிபதிகளும் சாலொமோனுக்குப் பொன்னையும் வெள்ளியையும் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்.

Beside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் இருநூறு பரிசைகளை அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் செய்வித்தான்; ஒவ்வொரு பரிசைக்கு அறுநூறு சேக்கல் நிறை பொன் தகட்டைச் செலவழித்தான்.

And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target.

அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் முந்நூறு கேடகங்களையும் உண்டாக்கினான்; ஒவ்வொரு கேடகத்திற்கு முந்நூறு சேக்கல் நிறை பொன்னைச் செலவழித்தான்; அவைகளை ராஜா லீபனோன் வனம் என்னும் மாளிகையிலே வைத்தான்.

And three hundred shields made he of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

ராஜா தந்தத்தினால் ஒரு பெரிய சிங்காசனத்தையும் செய்வித்து, அதைப்பசும்பொன் தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

அந்தச் சிங்காசனத்துக்குப் பொன்னினால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஆறு படிகளும், ஒரு பாதபடியும், உட்காரும் இடத்திற்கு இருபுறத்திலும் கைச்சாய்மானங்களும் இருந்தது; இரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் கைச்சாய்மானங்கள் அருகே நின்றது.

And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:

அந்த ஆறு படிகளின்மேலும், இரண்டு பக்கத்திலும் பன்னிரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் நின்றது; எந்த ராஜ்யத்திலும் இப்படிப் பண்ணப்படவில்லை.

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.

ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்கு இருந்த பானபாத்திரங்களெல்லாம் பொன்னும், லீபனோன் வனம் என்னும் மாளிகையின் பணிமுட்டுகளெல்லாம் பசும்பொன்னுமாயிருந்தது; ஒன்றும் வெள்ளியினால் செய்யப்படவில்லை; சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி ஒரு பொருளாய் எண்ணப்படவில்லை.

And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

ராஜாவின் கப்பல்கள் ஈராமின் வேலைக்காரருடன் தர்ஷீசுக்குப் போய்வரும்; தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்கள் மூன்று வருஷத்துக்கு ஒருதரம் பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், யானைத் தந்தங்களையும், குரங்குகளையும், மயில்களையும் கொண்டுவரும்.

For the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

பூமியின் சகல ராஜாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஐசுவரியத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் சிறந்தவனாயிருந்தான்.

And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

சாலொமோனின் இருதயத்திலே தேவன் அருளிய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்பதற்கு பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள் எல்லாரும் அவன் முகதரிசனத்தைத் தேடினார்கள்.

And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.

வருஷாவருஷம் அவரவர் தங்கள் காணிக்கையாகிய வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரங்களையும், பொற்பாத்திரங்களையும், வஸ்திரங்களையும், ஆயுதங்களையும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், குதிரைகளையும், கோவேறு கழுதைகளையும் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்.

And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

சாலொமோனுக்கு நாலாயிரம் குதிரை லாயங்களும் இரதங்களும் இருந்தன, பன்னீராயிரம் குதிரை வீரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவைகளை இரதங்கள் வைக்கும் பட்டணங்களிலும், அவர்களை எருசலேமில் தன்னிடத்திலும் ராஜா வைத்திருந்தான்.

And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

நதி துவக்கிப் பெலிஸ்தரின் தேசமட்டுக்கும் எகிப்தின் எல்லைவரைக்கும் இருக்கிற சகல ராஜாக்களையும் அவன் ஆண்டான்.

And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.

எருசலேமிலே ராஜா வெள்ளியைக் கற்கள்போலவும், கேதுருமரங்களைப் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் இருக்கும் காட்டத்தி மரங்கள்போலவும் அதிகமாக்கினான்.

And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.

எகிப்திலும் மற்ற தேசங்களிலுமிருந்து சாலொமோனுக்குக் குதிரைகள் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது.

And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

சாலொமோனுடைய ஆதியந்தமான மற்ற நடபடிகள் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானின் புஸ்தகத்திலும், சீலோனியனாகிய அகியா எழுதின தீர்க்கதரிசனத்திலும், நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமைக்குறித்து ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய இத்தோ எழுதின தரிசனங்களிலும் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

சாலொமோன் எருசலேமிலே இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் நாற்பது வருஷம் அரசாண்டான்.

And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

பின்பு சாலொமோன் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தான்; அவனை அவன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவன் ஸ்தானத்திலே அவன் குமாரனாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜாவானான்.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

ரெகொபெயாமை ராஜாவாக்கும்படி இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் சீகேமுக்கு வந்திருந்தபடியால், அவனும் சீகேமுக்குப் போனான்.

And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for to Shechem were all Israel come to make him king.

ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனை விட்டு ஓடிப்போய், எகிப்திலிருந்த நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாம் அதைக் கேட்டபோது, அவன் எகிப்திலிருந்து திரும்பிவந்தான்.

And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard it, that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.

ஆள் அனுப்பி அவனை அழைப்பித்தார்கள்; பின்பு யெரொபெயாமும் இஸ்ரவேலனைத்துமாய் வந்து, ரெகொபெயாமை நோக்கி:

And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spake to Rehoboam, saying,

உம்முடைய தகப்பன் பாரமான நுகத்தை எங்கள்மேல் வைத்தார்; இப்போதும் நீர் உம்முடைய தகப்பன் சுமத்தின கடினமான வேலையையும், அவர் எங்கள்மேல் வைத்த பாரமான நுகத்தையும் இலகுவாக்கும்; அப்பொழுது உம்மைச் சேவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.

Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.

அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் மூன்று நாளைக்குப்பிற்பாடு திரும்ப என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள் என்றான்; அப்படியே ஜனங்கள் போயிருந்தார்கள்.

And he said unto them, Come again unto me after three days. And the people departed.

அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் தன் தகப்பனாகிய சாலொமோன் உயிரோடிருக்கையில் அவன் சமுகத்தில் நின்ற முதியோரோடே ஆலோசனைபண்ணி, இந்த ஜனங்களுக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு கொடுக்க நீங்கள் என்ன ஆலோசனை சொல்லுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டான்.

And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people?

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் இந்த ஜனங்களுக்குத் தயவையும் பட்சத்தையும் காண்பித்து, அவர்களுக்கு நல்வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்வீரானால், என்றைக்கும் அவர்கள் உமக்கு ஊழியக்காரராயிருப்பார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.

முதியோர் சொன்ன ஆலோசனையை அவன் தள்ளிவிட்டு, தன்னோடே வளர்ந்தவர்களும் தன் சமுகத்தில் நிற்கிறவர்களுமாகிய வாலிபரோடே ஆலோசனைபண்ணி,

But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.

அவர்களை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய தகப்பன் எங்கள்மேல் வைத்த நுகத்தை இலகுவாக்கும் என்று என்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன இந்த ஜனங்களுக்கு மறுஉத்தரவு கொடுக்க நீங்கள் என்ன ஆலோசனை சொல்லுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டான்.

And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us?

அவனோடே வளர்ந்த வாலிபர் அவனை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய தகப்பன் எங்கள் நுகத்தைப் பாரமாக்கினார், நீர் அதை எங்களுக்கு இலகுவாக்கும் என்று உம்மிடத்தில் சொன்ன இந்த ஜனத்திற்கு நீர் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: என் சுண்டுவிரல் என் தகப்பனுடைய இடுப்பைப்பார்க்கிலும் பருமனாயிருக்கும்.

And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.

இப்போதும் என் தகப்பன் பாரமான நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் வைத்தார், நான் உங்கள் நுகத்தை அதிக பாரமாக்குவேன்; என் தகப்பன் உங்களைச் சவுக்குகளினாலே தண்டித்தார், நான் உங்களைத் தேள்களினாலே தண்டிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லும் என்றார்கள்.

For whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you, I will put more to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

மூன்றாம் நாள் என்னிடத்தில் வாருங்கள் என்று ராஜா சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே, யெரொபெயாமும் சகல ஜனங்களும் மூன்றாம் நாளிலே ரெகொபெயாமிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்.

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king bade, saying, Come again to me on the third day.

ராஜாவாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் முதியோர் ஆலோசனையைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, அவர்களுக்குக் கடினமான உத்தரவு கொடுத்தான்.

And the king answered them roughly; and king Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men,

வாலிபருடைய ஆலோசனையின்படியே அவர்களோடே பேசி, என் தகப்பன் உங்கள் நுகத்தைப் பாரமாக்கினார்; நான் அதை அதிக பாரமாக்குவேன்; என் தகப்பன் உங்களைச் சவுக்குகளினாலே தண்டித்தார், நான் உங்களைத் தேள்களினாலே தண்டிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னான்.

And answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

ராஜா ஜனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனான்; கர்த்தர் சீலோனியனான அகியாவைக்கொண்டு நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமுக்குச் சொன்ன தமது வார்த்தையை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி தேவனாலே இப்படி நடந்தது.

So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

ராஜா தங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாததை இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் கண்டபோது, ஜனங்கள் ராஜாவுக்கு மறுஉத்தரமாக: தாவீதோடே எங்களுக்குப் பங்கேது? ஈசாயின் குமாரனிடத்தில் எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரம் இல்லை; இஸ்ரவேலே உன் கூடாரங்களுக்குப் போய்விடு; இப்போது தாவீதே, உன் சொந்த வீட்டைப் பார்த்துக்கொள் என்று சொல்லி, இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்குப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

And when all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.

ஆனாலும் யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலே குடியிருந்த இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர்மேல் ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜாவாயிருந்தான்.

But as for the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

பின்பு ராஜாவாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் பகுதி விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய அதோராமை அனுப்பினான்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொன்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் தீவிரமாய் இரதத்தின்மேல் ஏறி எருசலேமுக்கு ஓடிப்போனான்.

Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

அப்படியே இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிறபடி இஸ்ரவேலர் தாவீதின் வம்சத்தை விட்டுக் கலகம்பண்ணிப் பிரிந்து போயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

வெளிப்படுத்தல் அத்தியாயம் 13

பின்பு நான் கடற்கரை மணலின்மேல் நின்றேன். அப்பொழுது சமுத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஒரு மிருகம் எழும்பிவரக் கண்டேன்; அதற்கு ஏழு தலைகளும் பத்துக்கொம்புகளும் இருந்தன; அதின் கொம்புகளின்மேல் பத்து முடிகளும், அதின் தலைகளின்மேல் தூஷணமான நாமமும் இருந்தன.

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

நான் கண்ட மிருகம் சிறுத்தையைப் போலிருந்தது; அதின் கால்கள் கரடியின் கால்களைப்போலவும், அதின் வாய் சிங்கத்தின் வாயைப்போலவும் இருந்தன; வலுசர்ப்பமானது தன் பலத்தையும் தன் சிங்காசனத்தையும் மிகுந்த அதிகாரத்தையும் அதற்குக் கொடுத்தது.

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

அதின் தலைகளிலொன்று சாவுக்கேதுவாய்க் காயப்பட்டிருக்கக் கண்டேன்; ஆனாலும் சாவுக்கேதுவான அந்தக் காயம் சொஸ்தமாக்கப்பட்டது. பூமியிலுள்ள யாவரும் ஆச்சரியத்தோடே அந்த மிருகத்தைப் பின்பற்றி,

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

அந்த மிருகத்திற்கு அப்படிப்பட்ட அதிகாரங்கொடுத்த வலுசர்ப்பத்தை வணங்கினார்கள். அல்லாமலும்: மிருகத்திற்கு ஒப்பானவன் யார்? அதினோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணத்தக்கவன் யார்? என்று சொல்லி, மிருகத்தையும் வணங்கினார்கள்.

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

பெருமையானவைகளையும் தூஷணங்களையும் பேசும் வாய் அதற்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது; அல்லாமலும், நாற்பத்திரண்டுமாதம் யுத்தம்பண்ண அதற்கு அதிகாரங்கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

அது தேவனைத் தூஷிக்கும்படி தன் வாயைத் திறந்து, அவருடைய நாமத்தையும், அவருடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தையும், பரலோகத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவர்களையும் தூஷித்தது.

And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

மேலும், பரிசுத்தவான்களோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணி அவர்களை ஜெயிக்கும்படிக்கு அதற்கு அதிகாரங்கொடுக்கப்பட்டதுமல்லாமல், ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்தின்மேலும் பாஷைக்காரர்மேலும் ஜாதிகள்மேலும் அதற்கு அதிகாரங்கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

உலகத்தோற்றமுதல் அடிக்கப்பட்ட ஆட்டுக்குட்டியினுடைய ஜீவபுஸ்தகத்தில் பேரெழுதப்பட்டிராத பூமியின் குடிகள் யாவரும் அதை வணங்குவார்கள்.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

காதுள்ளவனெவனோ அவன் கேட்கக்கடவன்.

If any man have an ear, let him hear.

சிறைப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு போகிறவன் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போவான்; பட்டயத்தினாலே கொல்லுகிறவன் பட்டயத்தினாலே கொல்லப்படவேண்டும். பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய பொறுமையும் விசுவாசமும் இதிலே விளங்கும்.

He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

பின்பு, வேறொரு மிருகம் பூமியிலிருந்து எழும்பக் கண்டேன்; அது ஒரு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிக்கு ஒப்பாக இரண்டு கொம்புகளையுடையதாயிருந்து, வலுசர்ப்பத்தைப்போலப் பேசினது.

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

அது முந்தின மிருகத்தின் அதிகாரம் முழுவதையும் அதின் முன்பாக நடப்பித்து, சாவுக்கேதுவான காயம் ஆறச்சொஸ்தமடைந்த முந்தின மிருகத்தைப் பூமியும் அதின் குடிகளும் வணங்கும்படிசெய்தது.

And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

அன்றியும், அது மனுஷருக்கு முன்பாக வானத்திலிருந்து பூமியின்மேல் அக்கினியை இறங்கப்பண்ணத்தக்கதாகப் பெரிய அற்புதங்களை நடப்பித்து,

And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

மிருகத்தின்முன்பாக அந்த அற்புதங்களைச் செய்யும்படி தனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட சத்துவத்தினாலே பூமியின் குடிகளை மோசம்போக்கி, பட்டயத்தினாலே காயப்பட்டுப் பிழைத்த மிருகத்திற்கு ஒரு சொரூபம் பண்ணவேண்டுமென்று பூமியின் குடிகளுக்குச் சொல்லிற்று.

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

மேலும் அம்மிருகத்தின் சொரூபம் பேசத்தக்கதாகவும், மிருகத்தின் சொரூபத்தை வணங்காத யாவரையும் கொலைசெய்யத்தக்கதாகவும், மிருகத்தின் சொரூபத்திற்கு ஆவியைக் கொடுக்கும்படி அதற்குச் சத்துவங்கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

அது சிறியோர், பெரியோர், ஐசுவரியவான்கள், தரித்திரர், சுயாதீனர், அடிமைகள், இவர்கள் யாவரும் தங்கள் தங்கள் வலதுகைகளிலாவது நெற்றிகளிலாவது ஒரு முத்திரையைப் பெறும்படிக்கும்,

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

அந்த மிருகத்தின் முத்திரையையாவது அதின் நாமத்தையாவது அதின் நாமத்தின் இலக்கத்தையாவது தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் தவிர வேறொருவனும் கொள்ளவும் விற்கவுங்கூடாதபடிக்கும் செய்தது.

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

இதிலே ஞானம் விளங்கும்; அந்த மிருகத்தின் இலக்கத்தைப் புத்தியுடையவன் கணக்குப்பார்க்கக் கடவன்; அது மனுஷனுடைய இலக்கமாயிருக்கிறது; அதினுடைய இலக்கம் அறுநூற்றறுபத்தாறு.

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

பின்பு நான் பார்த்தபோது, இதோ, சீயோன் மலையின்மேல் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவரையும், அவரோடேகூட அவருடைய பிதாவின் நாமம் தங்கள் நெற்றிகளில் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்த இலட்சத்து நாற்பத்து நாலாயிரம்பேரையும் நிற்கக்கண்டேன்.

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

அல்லாமலும், பெருவெள்ள இரைச்சல்போலவும். பலத்த இடிமுழக்கம்போலவும், ஒரு சத்தம் வானத்திலிருந்து உண்டாகக்கேட்டேன்; நான் கேட்ட சத்தம் சுரமண்டலக்காரர் தங்கள் சுரமண்டலங்களை வாசிக்கிற ஓசையைப்போலிருந்தது.

And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

அவர்கள் சிங்காசனத்திற்கு முன்பாகவும், நான்கு ஜீவன்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும், மூப்பர்களுக்கு முன்பாகவும் புதுப்பாட்டைப் பாடினார்கள்; அந்தப் பாட்டு பூமியிலிருந்து மீட்டுக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட இலட்சத்து நாற்பத்துநாலாயிரம் பேரேயல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் கற்றுக்கொள்ளக்கூடாதிருந்தது.

And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

ஸ்திரீகளால் தங்களைக் கறைப்படுத்தாதவர்கள் இவர்களே; கற்புள்ளவர்கள் இவர்களே; ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவர் எங்கே போனாலும் அவரைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்கள் இவர்களே; இவர்கள் மனுஷரிலிருந்து தேவனுக்கும் ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவருக்கும் முதற்பலனாக மீட்டுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டவர்கள்.

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

இவர்களுடைய வாயிலே கபடம் காணப்படவில்லை; இவர்கள் தேவனுடைய சிங்காசனத்திற்குமுன்பாக மாசில்லாதவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

பின்பு வேறொரு தூதன் வானத்தின் மத்தியிலே பறக்கக்கண்டேன்; அவன் பூமியில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற சகல ஜாதிகளுக்கும், கோத்திரத்தாருக்கும், பாஷைக்காரருக்கும், ஜனக்கூட்டத்தாருக்கும் அறிவிக்கத்தக்கதாக நித்திய சுவிசேஷத்தை உடையவனாயிருந்து,

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டு: தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து, அவரை மகிமைப்படுத்துங்கள்; அவர் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கொடுக்கும் வேளைவந்தது; வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் சமுத்திரத்தையும் நீரூற்றுகளையும் உண்டாக்கினவரையே தொழுதுகொள்ளுங்கள் என்று கூறினான்.

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

வேறொரு தூதன் பின்சென்று: பாபிலோன் மகா நகரம் விழுந்தது! விழுந்தது! தன் வேசித்தனமாகிய உக்கிரமான மதுவைச் சகல ஜாதிகளுக்கும் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தாளே! என்றான்.

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னே மூன்றாம் தூதன் வந்து, மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டு: மிருகத்தையும் அதின் சொரூபத்தையும் வணங்கித் தன் நெற்றியிலாவது தன் கையிலாவது அதின் முத்திரையைத் தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவனெவனோ,

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

அவன் தேவனுடைய கோபாக்கினையாகிய பாத்திரத்திலே கலப்பில்லாமல் வார்க்கப்பட்ட அவருடைய உக்கிரமாகிய மதுவைக் குடித்து, பரிசுத்த தூதர்களுக்குமுன்பாகவும், ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவருக்குமுன்பாகவும், அக்கினியினாலும் கந்தகத்தினாலும் வாதிக்கப்படுவான்.

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

அவர்களுடைய வாதையின் புகை சதாகாலங்களிலும் எழும்பும்; மிருகத்தையும் அதின் சொரூபத்தையும் வணங்குகிறவர்களுக்கும், அதினுடைய நாமத்தின் முத்திரையைத் தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிற எவனுக்கும் இரவும் பகலும் இளைப்பாறுதலிராது.

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

தேவனுடைய கற்பனைகளையும் இயேசுவின் மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தையும் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களாகிய பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய பொறுமை இதிலே விளங்கும் என்று கூறினான்.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

பின்பு, பரலோகத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டாகக் கேட்டேன்; அது: கர்த்தருக்குள் மரிக்கிறவர்கள் இதுமுதல் பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றெழுது; அவர்கள் தங்கள் பிரயாசங்களை விட்டொழிந்து இளைப்பாறுவார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய கிரியைகள் அவர்களோடே கூடப்போகும்; ஆவியானவரும் ஆம் என்று திருவுளம்பற்றுகிறார் என்று சொல்லிற்று.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

பின்பு நான் பார்த்தபோது, இதோ, வெண்மையான மேகத்தையும், அந்த மேகத்தின்மேல் மனுஷகுமாரனுக்கொப்பானவராய்த் தமது சிரசின்மேல் பொற்கிரீடத்தையும் தமது கையிலே கருக்குள்ள அரிவாளையுமுடைய ஒருவர் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறதையும் கண்டேன்.

And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

அப்பொழுது வேறொரு தூதன் தேவாலயத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, மேகத்தின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவரை நோக்கி: பூமியின் பயிர் முதிர்ந்தது, அறுக்கிறதற்குக் காலம் வந்தது, ஆகையால் உம்முடைய அரிவாளை நீட்டி அறுத்துவிடும் என்று மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னான்.

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

அப்பொழுது மேகத்தின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்தவர் தமது அரிவாளைப் பூமியின்மேல் நீட்டினார், பூமியின் விளைவு அறுப்புண்டது.

And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

பின்பு வேறொரு தூதனும் கருக்குள்ள அரிவாளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு பரலோகத்திலுள்ள தேவாலயத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுவந்தான்.

And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

அக்கினியின்மேல் அதிகாரமுள்ள வேறொரு தூதனும் பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுவந்து, கருக்குள்ள அரிவாளைப் பிடித்திருக்கிறவனை நோக்கி: பூமியின் திராட்சப்பழங்கள் பழுத்திருக்கிறது, கருக்குள்ள உமது அரிவாளை நீட்டி, அதின் குலைகளை அறுத்துவிடும் என்று மிகுந்த சத்தத்தோடே சொன்னான்.

And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

அப்பொழுது அந்தத் தூதன் தன் அரிவாளைப் பூமியின்மேலே நீட்டி, பூமியின் திராட்சப்பழங்களை அறுத்து, தேவனுடைய கோபாக்கினையென்னும் பெரிய ஆலையிலே போட்டான்;

And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

நகரத்திற்குப் புறம்பேயுள்ள அந்த ஆலையிலே அது மிதிக்கப்பட்டது; அந்த ஆலையிலிருந்து ஆயிரத்தறுநூறு ஸ்தாதி தூரத்திற்கு இரத்தம் புறப்பட்டுக் குதிரைகளின் கடிவாளங்கள்மட்டும் பெருகிவந்தது.

And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
