2இராஜாக்கள் அத்தியாயம் 19

ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக்கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து,

And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய எலியாக்கீமையும், சம்பிரதியாகிய செப்னாவையும், ஆசாரியர்களின் மூப்பரையும், ஆமோத்தின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியினிடத்துக்கு இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டவர்களாக அனுப்பினான்.

And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

இவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: இந்த நாள் நெருக்கமும் கண்டிதமும் தூஷணமும் அநுபவிக்கிற நாள்; பிள்ளைபேறு நோக்கியிருக்கிறது, பெறவோ பெலனில்லை.

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படி அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தன் ஆண்டவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட ரப்சாக்கே சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்; உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிற வார்த்தைகளினிமித்தம் தண்டனை செய்வார்; ஆகையால் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்வீராக என்று எசேக்கியா சொல்லச்சொன்னார் என்றார்கள்.

It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

இவ்விதமாய் எசேக்கியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் ஏசாயாவினிடத்தில் வந்து சொன்னார்கள்.

So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா அவர்களை நோக்கி: அசீரியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் என்னைத் தூஷித்ததும் நீர் கேட்டதுமான வார்த்தைகளினாலே பயப்படாதேயும்.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

இதோ, அவன் ஒரு செய்தியைக் கேட்டு, தன் தேசத்துக்குத் திரும்புவதற்கான ஆவியை நான் அவனுக்குள் அனுப்பி, அவனை அவன் தேசத்திலே பட்டயத்தால் விழப்பண்ணுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்பதை உங்கள் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

அசீரியா ராஜா லாகீசைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டான் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டு, ரப்சாக்கே திரும்பிப்போய், அவன் லிப்னாவின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டான்.

So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

இதோ, எத்தியோப்பியா ராஜாவாகிய தீராக்கா உம்மோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணப் புறப்பட்டான் என்று சொல்லக் கேள்விப்பட்டான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் திரும்ப எசேக்கியாவினிடத்துக்கு ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி:

And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

நீங்கள் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால், எருசலேம் அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லையென்று நீ நம்பியிருக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னை எத்த ஒட்டாதே.

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

இதோ, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் சகல தேசங்களையும் சங்கரித்த செய்தியை நீ கேட்டிருக்கிறாயே, நீ தப்புவாயோ?

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

என் பிதாக்கள் அழித்துவிட்ட கோசானையும் ஆரானையும் ரேத்சேப்பையும், தெலாசாரிலிருந்த ஏதேனின் புத்திரரையும், அவர்களுடைய தேவர்கள் தப்புவித்ததுண்டோ?

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

ஆமாத்தின் ராஜாவும், அர்பாத்தின் ராஜாவும், செப்பர்வாயிம் ஏனா ஈவா பட்டணங்களின் ராஜாவும் எங்கே? என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

எசேக்கியா ஸ்தானாபதிகளின் கையிலிருந்து நிருபத்தை வாங்கி வாசித்த பின்பு, அவன் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குப்போய், அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக விரித்து,

And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: கேருபீன்களின் மத்தியில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே. நீர் ஒருவரே பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்களுக்கெல்லாம் தேவனானவர்; நீர் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கினீர்.

And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

கர்த்தாவே, உமது செவியைச் சாய்த்துக் கேளும்; கர்த்தாவே, நீர் உமது கண்களைத் திறந்துபாரும்; சனகெரிப் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படிக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பின வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளும்.

LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

கர்த்தாவே, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் அந்த ஜாதிகளையும் அவர்கள் தேசத்தையும் நாசமாக்கி,

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

அவர்களுடைய தேவர்களை நெருப்பிலே போட்டுவிட்டது மெய்தான்; அவைகள் தேவர்கள் அல்லவே, மனுஷர் கைவேலையான மரமும் கல்லும்தானே; ஆகையால் அவைகளை நிர்த்தூளியாக்கினார்கள்.

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

இப்போதும் எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் ஒருவரே தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்று பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்கள் எல்லாம் அறியும்படிக்கு, எங்களை அவன் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சியும் என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.

அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பினது: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிபின்நிமித்தம் நீ என்னை நோக்கிப் பண்ணின விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டேன்.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

அவனைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிற வசனமாவது: சீயோன் குமாரத்தியாகிய கன்னியாஸ்திரீ உன்னை இகழ்ந்து, உன்னைப் பரிகாசம்பண்ணுகிறாள்; எருசலேம் குமாரத்தி உன் பின்னாலே தலையைத் துலுக்குகிறாள்.

This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

யாரை நிந்தித்துத் தூஷித்தாய்? யாருக்கு விரோதமாய் உன் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்தினாய்? நீ இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தருக்கு விரோதமாயல்லவோ உன் கண்களை மேட்டிமையாக ஏறெடுத்தாய்?

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

உன் ஸ்தானாபதிகளைக்கொண்டு நீ ஆண்டவரை நிந்தித்து: என் இரதங்களின் திரளினாலே நான் மலைகளின் கொடுமுடிகளுக்கும் லீபனோனின் சிகரங்களுக்கும் வந்து ஏறினேன்; அதின் உயரமான கேதுருமரங்களையும், உச்சிதமான தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களையும் நான் வெட்டி, அதின் கடையாந்தரத் தாபரமட்டும், அதின் செழுமையான வனமட்டும் வருவேன் என்றும்,

By thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

நான் அந்நிய தேசங்களில் கிணறுவெட்டி தண்ணீர் குடித்தேன்; என் உள்ளங்கால்களினால் அரணிப்பான இடங்களின் அகழிகளையெல்லாம் வறளவும்பண்ணினேன் என்றும் சொன்னாய்.

I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

நான் வெகுகாலத்திற்குமுன் அதை நியமித்து, பூர்வநாட்கள் முதல் அதைத் திட்டம்பண்ணினேன் என்பதை நீ கேட்டதில்லையோ? இப்பொழுது நீ அரணான பட்டணங்களைப் பாழான மண்மேடுகள் ஆக்கும்படிக்கு நானே அதைச் சம்பவிக்கப்பண்ணினேன்.

Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

அதினாலே அவைகளின் குடிகள் கையிளைத்தவர்களாகி, கலங்கி வெட்கப்பட்டு, வெளியின் பூண்டுக்கும், பச்சிலைக்கும், வீடுகளின்மேல் முளைக்கும் புல்லுக்கும், ஒங்கிவளருமுன் தீய்ந்துபோகும் பயிருக்கும் சமானமானார்கள்.

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

உன் இருப்பையும், உன் போக்கையும், உன் வரவையும், நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கொந்தளிக்கிறதையும் அறிவேன்.

But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கொந்தளித்து, வீரியம் பேசினது என் செவிகளில் ஏறினபடியினால், நான் என் துறட்டை உன் மூக்கிலும் என் கடிவாளத்தை உன் வாயிலும் போட்டு, நீ வந்தவழியே உன்னைத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுபோவேன் என்று அவனைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லுகிறார்.

Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

உனக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பது என்னவென்றால்: இந்த வருஷத்திலே தப்பிப் பயிராகிறதையும், இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே தானாய் விளைகிறதையும் சாப்பிடுவீர்கள்; மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலோ விதைத்து அறுத்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களை நாட்டி, அவைகளின் கனிகளைப் புசிப்பீர்கள்.

And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

யூதா வம்சத்தாரில் தப்பி மீந்திருக்கிறவர்கள் மறுபடியும் கீழே வேர்பற்றி மேலே கனிகொடுப்பார்கள்.

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் எருசலேமிலும், தப்பினவர்கள் சீயோன் மலையிலும் இருந்து புறப்படுவார்கள்; சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் வைராக்கியம் இதைச் செய்யும்.

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் அசீரியா ராஜாவைக்குறித்து: அவன் இந்த நகரத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை; இதின்மேல் அம்பு எய்வதுமில்லை; இதற்குமுன் கேடகத்தோடே வருவதுமில்லை; இதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளம் போடுவதுமில்லை.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

அவன் இந்த நகரத்திற்குள் பிரவேசியாமல், தான் வந்தவழியே திரும்பிப்போவான்.

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

என் நிமித்தமும் என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதின் நிமித்தமும் நான் இந்த நகரத்தை இரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு, இதற்கு ஆதரவாயிருப்பேன் என்பதைக் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினான்.

For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

அன்று இராத்திரியில் சம்பவித்தது என்னவென்றால்: கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் புறப்பட்டு, அசீரியரின் பாளயத்தில் லட்சத்தெண்பத்தையாயிரம்பேரைச் சங்கரித்தான்; அதிகாலமே எழுந்திருக்கும்போது, இதோ, அவர்கள் எல்லாரும் செத்த பிரதேங்களாய்க் கிடந்தார்கள்.

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

அப்பொழுது அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் பிரயாணப்பட்டு, திரும்பிப்போய் நினிவேயில் இருந்துவிட்டான்.

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

அவன் தன் தேவனாகிய நிஸ்ரோகின் கோவிலிலே பணிந்துகொள்ளுகிறபோது, அவன் குமாரனாகிய அத்ரமலேக்கும் சரேத்சேரும் அவனைப் பட்டயத்தினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, ஆரராத் தேசத்திற்குத் தப்பி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய எசரத்தோன் அவன் பட்டத்திற்கு வந்து அரசாண்டான்.

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

அந்நாட்களில் எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டு மரணத்துக்கு ஏதுவாயிருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசி அவனிடத்தில் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் உமது வீட்டுக்காரியத்தை ஒழுங்குப்படுத்தும்; நீர் பிழைக்கமாட்டீர், மரித்துப்போவீர் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

அப்பொழுது எசேக்கியா தன் முகத்தைச் சுவர்ப்புறமாகத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தரை நோக்கி:

Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

ஆ கர்த்தாவே, நான் உமக்கு முன்பாக உண்மையும் மனஉத்தமமுமாய் நடந்து, உமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்தேன் என்பதை நினைத்தருளும் என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான். எசேக்கியா மிகவும் அழுதான்.

I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

ஏசாயா பாதி முற்றத்தைவிட்டு அப்புறம் போகிறதற்குமுன்னே, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர் சொன்னது:

And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

நீ திரும்பிப்போய், என் ஜனத்தின் அதிபதியாகிய எசேக்கியாவை நோக்கி: உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் தேவனாயிருக்கிற கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: உன் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டேன், உன் கண்ணீரைக் கண்டேன்; இதோ, நான் உன்னைக் குணமாக்குவேன்; மூன்றாம் நாளிலே நீ கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குப் போவாய்.

Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

உன் நாட்களோடே பதினைந்து வருஷங்களைக் கூட்டுவேன்; உன்னையும் இந்த நகரத்தையும் அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்து, என்நிமித்தமும் என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதின்நிமித்தமும் இந்த நகரத்துக்கு ஆதரவாய் இருப்பேன் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

பின்பு ஏசாயா: அத்திப்பழத்து அடையைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்; அதை அவர்கள் கொண்டுவந்து, பிளவையின்மேல் பற்றுப்போட்டபோது அவன் பிழைத்தான்.

And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

எசேக்கியா ஏசாயாவை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் என்னைக் குணமாக்குவதற்கும், மூன்றாம் நாளிலே நான் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போவதற்கும் அடையாளம் என்ன என்றான்.

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

அதற்கு ஏசாயா: கர்த்தர் தாம் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்வாரென்பதற்கு, கர்த்தரால் உனக்கு உண்டாகும் அடையாளமாகச் சாயை பத்துப்பாகை முன்னிட்டுப் போகவேண்டுமோ, பத்துப்பாகை பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்ப வேண்டுமோ என்று கேட்டான்.

And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

அதற்கு எசேக்கியா: சாயை பாத்துப்பாகை முன்னிட்டுப்போகிறது லேசான காரியம்; அப்படி வேண்டாம்; சாயை பத்துப்பாகை பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பவேண்டும் என்றான்.

And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகையில், அவர் ஆகாசுடைய சூரிய கடியாரத்தில் பாகைக்குப் பாகை முன்போன சாயை பத்துப்பாகை பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பும்படி செய்தார்.

And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

அக்காலத்திலே பலாதானின் குமாரனாகிய பெரோதாக்பலாதான் என்னும் பாபிலோனின் ராஜா எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டிருக்கிறதைக் கேட்டு, அவனிடத்துக்கு நிருபங்களையும் வெகுமானத்தையும் அனுப்பினான்.

At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

எசேக்கியா அவர்களை அங்கிகரித்து, பின்பு அவர்களுக்குத் தன் பொக்கிஷசாலை அனைத்தையும், வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், நல்ல பரிமளதைலத்தையும், தன் ஆயுதசாலை அனைத்தையும் தன் பொக்கிஷசாலைகளிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் காண்பித்தான்; தன் அரமனையிலும் தன் ராஜ்யத்தில் எங்கும் எசேக்கியா அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பியாத பொருள் ஒன்றும் இல்லை.

And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி எசேக்கியா ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்து: அந்த மனுஷர் என்ன சொன்னார்கள், எங்கேயிருந்து உம்மிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள் என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு எசேக்கியா: பாபிலோன் என்னும் தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து வந்தார்கள் என்றான்.

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய வீட்டில் என்னத்தைப் பார்த்தார்கள் என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு எசேக்கியா: என் வீட்டிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் பார்த்தார்கள்; என் பொக்கிஷங்களில் நான் அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பியாத பொருள் ஒன்றும் இல்லை என்றான்.

And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா எசேக்கியாவை நோக்கி: கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளும்.

And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

இதோ, நாட்கள் வரும்; அப்பொழுது உமது வீட்டில் உள்ளதிலும், உமது பிதாக்கள் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் சேர்த்ததிலும் ஒன்றும் மீதியாக வைக்கப்படாமல் எல்லாம் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்படும்.

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

நீர் பெறப்போகிற உமது சந்தானமாகிய உமது குமாரர்களிலும் சிலர் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் அரமனையிலே அரமனை வேலைக்காரராயிருப்பார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

அப்பொழுது எசேக்கியா ஏசாயாவை நோக்கி: நீர் சொன்ன கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை நல்லதுதான் என்று சொல்லி, என் நாட்களிலாவது சமாதானமும் உண்மையும் இருக்குமே என்றான்.

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

எசேக்கியாவின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவனுடைய எல்லா வல்லமையும், அவன் ஒரு குளத்தையும் சாலகத்தையும் உண்டாக்கினதினாலே தண்ணீரை நகரத்திற்குள்ளே வரப்பண்ணினதும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

எசேக்கியா தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய மனாசே அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 7

இந்த மெல்கிசேதேக்கு சாலேமின் ராஜாவும், உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய ஆசாரியனுமாயிருந்தான்; ராஜாக்களை முறியடித்துவந்த ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இவன் எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

இவனுக்கு ஆபிரகாம் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான்; இவனுடைய முதற்பேராகிய மெல்கிசேதேக்கு என்பதற்கு நீதியின் ராஜா என்றும், பின்பு சாலேமின் ராஜா என்பதற்குச் சமாதானத்தின் ராஜா என்றும் அர்த்தமாம்.

To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

இவன் தகப்பனும் தாயும் வம்சவரலாறும் இல்லாதவன்; இவன் நாட்களின் துவக்கமும் ஜீவனின் முடிவுமுடையவனாயிராமல், தேவனுடைய குமாரனுக்கு ஒப்பானவனாய் என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியனாக நிலைத்திருக்கிறான்.

Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

இவன் எவ்வளவு பெரியவனாயிருக்கிறான் பாருங்கள்; கோத்திரத்தலைவனாகிய ஆபிரகாம் முதலாய் கொள்ளையிடப்பட்ட பொருள்களில் இவனுக்குத் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான்.

Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

லேவியின் புத்திரரில் ஆசாரியத்துவத்தை அடைகிறவர்களும், ஆபிரகாமின் அரையிலிருந்துவந்த தங்கள் சகோதரரான ஜனங்களின் கையிலே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி தசமபாகம் வாங்குகிறதற்குக் கட்டளைபெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

ஆகிலும், அவர்களுடைய வம்சவரிசையில் வராதவனாகிய இவன் ஆபிரகாமின் கையில் தசமபாகம் வாங்கி, வாக்குத்தத்தங்களைப் பெற்றவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

சிறியவன் பெரியவனாலே ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவான், அதற்குச் சந்தேகமில்லை.

And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

அன்றியும், இங்கே, மரிக்கிற மனுஷர்கள் தசமபாகம் வாங்குகிறார்கள்; அங்கேயோ, பிழைத்திருக்கிறான் என்று சாட்சிபெற்றவன் வாங்கினான்.

And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

அன்றியும், மெல்கிசேதேக்கு ஆபிரகாமுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோனபோது, லேவியானவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய அரையிலிருந்தபடியால்,

And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

தசமபாகம் வாங்குகிற அவனும் ஆபிரகாமின் மூலமாய்த் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான் என்று சொல்லலாம்.

For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

அல்லாமலும், இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் லேவிகோத்திர ஆசாரிய முறைமைக்குட்பட்டிருந்தல்லவோ நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் பெற்றார்கள்; அந்த ஆசாரியமுறைமையினாலே பூரணப்படுதல் உண்டாயிருக்குமானால், ஆரோனுடைய முறைமையின்படி அழைக்கப்படாமல், மெல்கிசேதேக்கினுடைய முறைமையின்படி அழைக்கப்பட்ட வேறொரு ஆசாரியர் எழும்பவேண்டுவதென்ன?

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

ஆசாரியத்துவம் மாற்றப்பட்டிருக்குமேயானால், நியாயப்பிரமாணமும் மாற்றப்படவேண்டியதாகும்.

For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

இவைகள் எவரைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறதோ. அவர் வேறொரு கோத்திரத்துக்குள்ளானவராயிருக்கிறாரே; அந்தக் கோத்திரத்தில் ஒருவனாகிலும் பலிபீடத்து ஊழியம் செய்ததில்லையே.

For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

நம்முடைய கர்த்தர் யூதாகோத்திரத்தில் தோன்றினாரென்பது பிரசித்தமாயிருக்கிறது; அந்தக் கோத்திரத்தாரைக்குறித்து மோசே ஆசாரியத்துவத்தைப்பற்றி ஒன்றும் சொல்லவில்லையே.

For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

அல்லாமலும், மெல்கிசேதேக்குக்கு ஒப்பாய் வேறொரு ஆசாரியர் எழும்புகிறார் என்று சொல்லியிருப்பதினால், மேற்சொல்லியது மிகவும் பிரசித்தமாய் விளங்குகிறது.

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

அவர் மாம்ச சம்பந்தமான கட்டளையாகிய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி ஆசாரியராகாமல்,

Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

நீர் மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கிறீர் என்று சொல்லிய சாட்சிக்குத்தக்கதாக அழியாத ஜீவனுக்குரிய வல்லமையின்படியே ஆசாரியரானார்.

For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

முந்தின கட்டளை பெலவீனமுள்ளதும் பயனற்றதுமாயிருந்ததினிமித்தம் மாற்றப்பட்டது.

For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

நியாயப்பிரமாணமானது ஒன்றையும் பூரணப்படுத்தவில்லை, அதிக நன்மையான நம்பிக்கையை வருவிப்பதோ பூரணப்படுத்துகிறது; அந்த நம்பிக்கையினாலே தேவனிடத்தில் சேருகிறோம்.

For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் ஆணையில்லாமல் ஆசாரியராக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்; இவரோ; நீர் மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கிறீர் என்று கர்த்தர் ஆணையிட்டார், மனம்மாறாமலும் இருப்பார் என்று தம்முடனே சொன்னவராலே ஆணையோடே ஆசாரியரானார்.

And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

ஆனதால், இயேசுவானவர் ஆணையின்படியே ஆசாரியராக்கப்பட்டது எவ்வளவு விசேஷித்த காரியமோ,

For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

அவ்வளவு விசேஷித்த உடன்படிக்கைக்குப் பிணையாளியானார்.

By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

அன்றியும், அவர்கள் மரணத்தினிமித்தம் நிலைத்திருக்கக்கூடாதவர்களானபடியால், ஆசாரியராக்கப்படுகிறவர்கள் அநேகராயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

இவரோ என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறபடியினாலே, மாறிப்போகாத ஆசாரியத்துவமுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்.

But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

மேலும், தமது மூலமாய் தேவனிடத்தில் சேருகிறவர்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல்செய்யும்படிக்கு அவர் எப்பொழுதும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறவராகையால் அவர்களை முற்றுமுடிய இரட்சிக்க வல்லவராயுமிருக்கிறார்.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

பரிசுத்தரும், குற்றமற்றவரும், மாசில்லாதவரும், பாவிகளுக்கு விலகினவரும், வானங்களிலும் உயர்ந்தவருமாயிருக்கிற இவ்விதமான பிரதான ஆசாரியரே நமக்கு ஏற்றவராயிருக்கிறார்.

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

அவர் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களைப்போல முன்பு சொந்தப் பாவங்களுக்காகவும், பின்பு ஜனங்களுடைய பாவங்களுக்காகவும் நாடோறும் பலியிடவேண்டுவதில்லை; ஏனெனில் தம்மைத்தாமே பலியிட்டதினாலே இதை ஒரேதரம் செய்துமுடித்தார்.

Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

நியாயப்பிரமாணமானது பெலவீனமுள்ள மனுஷர்களைப் பிரதான ஆசாரியராக ஏற்படுத்துகிறது; நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்குப்பின்பு உண்டான ஆணையோடே விளங்கிய வசனமோ என்றென்றைக்கும் பூரணரான குமாரனை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது.

For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

எபிரெயர் அத்தியாயம் 8

மேற்சொல்லியவைகளின் முக்கியமான பொருளென்னவெனில்; பரலோகத்திலுள்ள மகத்துவ ஆசனத்தின் வலதுபாரிசத்திலே உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவருமாய்,

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலும், மனுஷரால் அல்ல, கர்த்தரால் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட மெய்யான கூடாரத்திலும் ஆசாரிய ஊழியஞ்செய்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிற பிரதான ஆசாரியர் நமக்கு உண்டு.

A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

ஒவ்வொரு பிரதான ஆசாரியனும் காணிக்கைகளையும் பலிகளையும் செலுத்தும்படி நியமிக்கப்படுகிறான்; ஆதலால் செலுத்தும்படிக்கு ஏதோ ஒன்று இவருக்கும் அவசியம் வேண்டியதாயிருக்கிறது.

For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

பூமியிலே அவர் இருப்பாரானால் ஆசாரியராயிருக்கமாட்டார்; ஏனெனில், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்துகிற ஆசாரியர்கள் இருக்கிறார்களே;

For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

இவர்கள் செய்யும் ஆராதனை பரலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகளின் சாயலுக்கும் நிழலுக்கும் ஒத்திருக்கிறது; அப்படியே, மோசே கூடாரத்தை உண்டுபண்ணப்போகையில்: மலையிலே உனக்குக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்ட மாதிரியின்படியே நீ எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்ய எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு என்று தேவன் அவனுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

இவரோ விசேஷித்த வாக்குத்தத்தங்களின்பேரில் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட விசேஷித்த உடன்படிக்கைக்கு எப்படி மத்தியஸ்தராயிருக்கிறாரோ, அப்படியே முக்கியமான ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தையும் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்.

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

அந்த முதலாம் உடன்படிக்கை பிழையில்லாதிருந்ததானால், இரண்டாம் உடன்படிக்கைக்கு இடம் தேடவேண்டுவதில்லையே.

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

அவர்களைக் குற்றப்படுத்தி, அவர்களை நோக்கி: இதோ, கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறதென்னவெனில்: இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தோடும் யூதா குடும்பத்தோடும் நான் புது உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துங்காலம் வருகிறது.

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவரும்படிக்கு நான் அவர்களுடைய கையைப் பிடித்த நாளிலே அவர்களோடு பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையைப்போல இது இருப்பதில்லை; அந்த உடன்படிக்கையிலே அவர்கள் நிலைநிற்கவில்லையே, நானும் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்தேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

அந்த நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு நான் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரோடே பண்ணும் உடன்படிக்கையாவது: என்னுடைய பிரமாணங்களை அவர்களுடைய மனதிலே வைத்து, அவர்களுடைய இருதயங்களில் அவைகளை எழுதுவேன்; நான் அவர்கள் தேவனாயிருப்பேன், அவர்கள் என் ஜனமாயிருப்பார்கள்.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

அப்பொழுது சிறியவன் முதற்கொண்டு பெரியவன்வரைக்கும் எல்லாரும் என்னை அறிவார்கள்; ஆகையால், கர்த்தரை அறிந்துகொள் என்று ஒருவன் தன் அயலானுக்கும், ஒருவன் தன் சகோதரனுக்கும் போதிக்கவேண்டுவதில்லை.

And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

ஏனெனில் நான் அவர்கள் அநியாயங்களைக் கிருபையாய் மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் பாவங்களையும் அக்கிரமங்களையும் இனி நினையாமலிருப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

புது உடன்படிக்கை என்று அவர் சொல்லுகிறதினாலே முந்தினதைப் பழமையாக்கினார்; பழமையானதும் நாள்பட்டதுமாயிருக்கிறது உருவழிந்துபோகக் காலம் சமீபித்திருக்கிறது.

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
